The Future of CollectingAs other reviewers have said, the app has several bugs. The search feature is horrendous. The AR feature doesn’t work on all phones and sometimes causes the app to crash. The drops are so hard to get now it’s like winning the lottery if you do. So why the four stars? Because I absolutely it! I have never been a collector before so I started out just trying to make some money. Now I love collecting! These collectibles are always with me (without cluttering my house) to show people and talk about them. The community is fun and I’ve made a lot of money. Beware though, you can’t take your money out of the app yet, but it should be available shortly. Made so much money from this app!Let the haters hate. I joined Veve in early 2021 and slowly started collecting because I see the future potential for both this company product and vision as well as the metaverse as a whole. This team has continually strived to make a better product and safer, more enjoyable user experience the entire time I’ve been involved with the app. Granted maybe not always as quickly as people want things, or maybe after projected release dates, but they have not stopped improving and refining the app and NFTs and are now pushing further, into the Veveverse (Veves corner of the metaverse), where you will be able to use your collectibles in your personal corner of the metavers, where you’ll be able to import your other NFTs like bored apes to use in your veveverse, where you’ll be able to race your Delorean or lambo agains others. The truth is Veve and the metaverse as a whole are just getting started here. Sometimes developing new tech, ideas and ecosystems takes a little time and refinement. This team has proven they are willing to keep their head down and keep working toward the larger goal and are partnered with some of the largest, most iconic brands in the world, they have a simple to use app that allows non crypto users to easily participate and collect some of their favorite pop culture icons. User since April 2021Hi reader, I’m here to be honest. I’ve been a user since April 2021 - so just about a year as I write this - and I can say VeVe has made life more interesting for me. The company is fairly new, and myself being a company founder as well, I’m empathetic to the hiccups and road bumps that come with growth, which many people overly complain about. Building a company to suit millions of users is TOUGH - and VeVe has faced many challenges that I’ve seen first hand. They have succeeded in many ways as a team and through software updates - some timelines haven’t been met exactly on date but that doesn’t shake me, as we’ve ALL missed many timelines in our life before - companies aren’t excluded. I’m an avid collector with over 600+ collectibles / digital comic on VeVe, and I always look forward to scrolling the market on the app for new deals. I’ve dealt with customer support many times, particularly Dan W, who has been extremely helpful every time I needed help. Read whichever reviews you want, but most negative reviews are from people who made poor investment decisions, or are impatient due to a lack of empathy for the launching of a company that exceeds user growth expectations by 10x in Years 1-2. The best pop culture IPs - amazing communityVeVe has hands-down the BEST pop culture IPs on any platform: Marvel, Disney, and Star Wars just to name some of my favorite! The quality of the collectibles and comics is top-notch, both in-app and, especially, in the augmented reality feature! I absolutely LOVE playing with my collectibles in AR, creating fun scenes to capture in a photo or even in a video! And sharing these in social media has brought me together with the wider VeVe community (#VeVefam!), which has been a pleasant and unexpected development, and led to new friendships I never would have made if not for this app 😊. So Your Own ResearchI have been a part of this app since March-April of 2021. I understand where people can be frustrated about not getting drops sometimes but that is the nature of the beast. I can confidentially say I get the drop 50-60% of the time. You have to realize and understand that there are over 150,000 people including you on any given drop date. Trying to be the fastest to the collectible. In regards to the bots. Every industry in existence has people scamming botting or trying to cheat the system in some shape way or form. To think VEVE is any different would make you naive. There will always be foul players trying to beat any system. Just like with the ps5 and people buying dozens to resell them at double the price. Now they are still back ordered. In regards to the Gem to USD. It take 2 years normally to get that license. Even Coinbase. One of the largest exchanges in the world did not allow you to withdraw your earnings from its platform for the first year or so. And now look where they are. Everything great comes with some hateI have been a veve app user for 9 months. When I first found it there were about 10,000 downloads and the app has now eclipsed 1 million+ downloads. The developer/social media teams ability to scale the app for the growing user base while paying attention to their customers desires is quite honestly unparalleled in the business industry in my opinion. You may find people leaving negative reviews about how there are glitches or various other complaints but all that I have observed is that time after time the user interface, speed, and functionality of the app improves on a week to week basis even as the user base continues to grow. The social media team makes themselves available via twitter and Instagram and is very well connected with the user base. Fix the crashing bugHello I am a user of veve and have already spent a few hundred dollars in app in a little less than 2 months. I only buy the comics so far and I’ve noticed an incredibly annoying bug while searching the comics page in the market. When scrolling down to look for specific cover variants, the entire app will crash to my Home Screen after just 4 or 5 swipes down the page. I don’t know if this is a widespread problem, but it shouldn’t be happening to anyone. For a company that already rakes in millions of dollars from its users this bug is unacceptable. I have high hopes for this company and the app in the future, but please don’t overlook small issues and bugs as it will eventually turn people off. If the after drop market doesn’t work properly, then the whole goal of what veve is trying to do will be pointless. I know whoever reads this is probably just in marketing, but please pass this along to the developers so they can fix it in the next update. Good but still needs improvement.I believe that VEVE does have its potential in the long term future, but it’s in its early stage. There will of course be glitches and bugs. People also need to realize that it indeed is difficult to get the collectibles on drops days. it’s not because of bots, but simply because of the high demand and traffic in servers. Roughly a million people on one app pressing the same button at the same time will without a doubt make collectibles sell out quickly and smelt the app glitch. Assuming there’s 60,000 collectibles as there has been for the Disney drops. That’s a 60,000/1,000,000 chance of getting one which is only 6%! I’m not saying there isn’t any bots, who knows. but I definitely do believe that the correlation is more so with high demand. Please please also research and learn before investing. Fun app just don’t make the mistake I did.A friend of mine told me about this app and got me excited so I joined in January 2022 (The worst possible time to join.) I bought countless items thinking these will be worth a fortune someday. Then within a month my collections and comics dropped in price…. by a lot. Things like Bots were buying up the drops and some individuals bought gems with fake credit cards creating problems in the market. VeVe has taken measures and have greatly reduced these issues since then. I blame myself for buying too much in a short amount of time. New User ExperienceI’ve been using this App for a little over a month so still figuring things out. Overall the app is nicely done and is easy to use/navigate. I have noticed glitches when you go to view a collectible after downloading it. After downloading if you touch the touch your screen the app will crash. This can be an annoyance as you have to restart the app and then find the collectible again. From what I hear the VeVe team is working hard to address issues and improve the app. It can be difficult getting drops in the store due to the demand as a result if you want something you’ll have to purchase it in the open market. Best app for NFTsVeve is hands down the leader in digital collectibles. The point is for them to be difficult to obtain so not everyone can get one on drop day. It forces you to stay current with the drops so you really get excited when it’s time to try to get a collectible. The NFTs themselves are flawless and fun to look at, interact with, and move around your vault. Soon veve will have an open world type atmosphere where users can visit each other and check out their collections. If you use decentraland then be on the lookout for when veve crushes it and takes over. I love it and my 4 year old can get enough of my Spider-Man, Superman, and other digital collectibles. Easiest way to invest in NFTs - VEVE appThis app is already changing the way people collect collectibles. Why invest in something that you can’t show off and be proud of? The FutureI hesitate to give a good review because the community is growing so fast that it’s getting very hard to get drops. The difficulty is the reason for many complaints. People also don’t understand how things work because VeVe is so new. Not being able to withdraw funds isn’t a defect. Don’t waste your time trying to mintThis app is only useful if you want to buy off of the secondary market. Most people don’t understand how VeVe’s business model is designed to push most users into the secondary market. It’s all liquidity that is locked into the app. Once you put money in, you can’t cash out to fiat. You will not get a drop, I’ve only been successful 1 out of 25 times while some are sporting 90% success. I can’t possibly get better connection or get my finger closer to the buy button. It makes sense that VeVe will not allow me to mint because I only have 7 gems in my account. They make people put more fiat into the app (that they are unable to cash out) so that they can buy these nuts on the secondary market. This is the biggest scheme in the world. Used as Part of Upwork Scam against Disabled Disney TrespassesThis is used as alleged Upwork testing to have people test payment workflows with so called virtual cards. I reported to Apple immediately of what happened. What is worse is I am banned from Walt Disney World and the VeVe App is associated to Marvel comics. Super Glitchy AppNot sure if the 5-star reviews are from friends and family, but this app is glitching so much that it won’t even allow me to sign up. I started the process with my email address and password. As soon as I entered it, I was not allowed to the next step. There was an email verification link sent to my email address, but the app didn’t prompt me to check my email and click the link to confirm. From there started a maze of toggling between resetting the password and attempting to sign up again. I’d receive the green check marks to indicate my “new” password met the app’s password requirements, but it would never update the password. Instead I’d be notified that it failed to do so. Prior to writing this review, I visited the company’s website, clicked “Support,” and completed the contact form to let them know the issue I’m experiencing. After typing in the requested information, I realized the “Submit” button didn’t actually submit the query (as far as I can tell). Seems Shady - NFT drops sell out within 30 secondsCheck the comments with each NFT drop - there are a lot of complaints that they sell out in less than a minute. I also experienced this. It also seems strange that some people can purchase 2-4 while most can’t purchase any. As mentioned in the comments, this seems rigged and/or plagued with bots and definitely shady. So they seem to try to force you to buy in the secondary market, which seems even more shady. In the secondary market they list the NFTs for very high prices but when you click into the individual listings, the prices are often 2X-5X lower. They also don’t let you view data on sold or closed items / auctions (like eBay does) so there’s no transparency or info on whether people are actually buying at the ridiculous prices. Last but not least, they only allow you to buy gems in increments of $5, which makes no sense when the items usually cost about $7. It’s clear they want you to overspend on gems for their benefit. Could be a good App but is not (currently)Basically this app can be exciting, but majority of the time it is not. There are days where NFT drops happen and everyone patiently waits fingers close to the buy it now button, watching a timer click down. Then tell their customers to delete the app once they steal your money. Comments sectionHave you ever noticed that when you are trying to read the last comment on any NFT the application sends you to the very top of the comment section? There are hundreds or thousands of comments so when you have to scroll to the bottom of the comments section, you are not able to read it before it sends you to the top again! That’s annoying. The comments section is also set up so that the newest comments are at the bottom, so you’re essentially reading from oldest to newest. Amazing licensing terrible dev and nft executionCrypto veteran and comic book collector. So of course I jumped after hearing of Marvels first nft comic and all the other great licensing Veve has. At the time of writing this the user base is mainly made up of crypto currency investors and speculators, most of whom do not care about collecting and only about making as much money as possible, by any means possible. In the crypto world the price of assets are usually extremely volatile and can leave many individuals victim of orchestrated “pump and dump” scams. I highly recommend doing your research around these topics before using this app and especially before getting suckered into paying some of the extraordinarily high prices for many of the collectibles/NFT’s on this app. VeVe has also been promising users the ability to cash out from secondary market sales for many months now however has failed to deliver on this promise so far (ie they allow you to put lots of money in but don’t allow you to take it back out again yet). There are ways of selling your Gems (ie in-app currency) on the black market however theres usually a 30% or higher fee involved and there are many scams so BE CAREFUL if deciding to go that route. Please stay away - the company is a scamI’ve had money stuck in Veve for over 12 months now. They just released their beta stage for being able to take money out but they added so many claws. Like 10% to take out your money. Plus you need to have over $1000 to be able to even take money out… I only have $600 in there. How can you add these claws after everybody has joined? In other words I will never be able to take out money. They basically stole my money. I would have to add money ($400) to take my money out. Disabled Accounts, bots, etc.VeVe has been dealing with a lot of security flaws including gem exploits, bots running wild, etc. In an effort to combat this, they have unfairly disabled many accounts. Mine was disabled because of gems I had no idea were apparently “dirty”. My partner’s account was disabled because their third-party security team flagged her account as using a bot, which is ludicrous. She managed to get three drops over six months and never used any bots or auto-clickers. Another friend lost had her account disabled because of the wifi at her work. VeVe will claim they are investigating, but like everything else on VeVe, they say they will do something but nothing happens after weeks and months of waiting.
