AccuWeather: Weather Forecast Positive Reviews
Where have you been all my life?I always growing up had to wait in Detroit, Michigan till 6 pm news when a famous weather forecaster Sunny Elliot would come on at 20 minutes after 6 to tell me that A. It rained that day. It was going to continue to rain through the evening and lessen till it ended by 4 am and the next day sun and a high of 79 degrees the next day Saturday. But this app is AMAZING! It tells me minute by minute, it has a radar that even someone with no experience can look and see oh that's just upper atmosphere clouds that look deceivingly like rain but nope, dry as a bone on the valley floor. I am so in love with all the new things they have added! I think the best of the best thing they have is the clock that you can say “ honey take the dog out to potty because in 6 minutes it will start to rain lightly” My husband loves this part of the app, because then I can tell him in 18 minutes it will become a downpour and we bring in the cute pillows and knick-knacks we have on a tray to enjoy out on our coffee table and couch area. Just get the free app, fall in love and then subscribe. I never knew that down deep I'm a meteorologist nerd. Maybe if I had a better showing of how seeing that the weather that comes of the coast of Africa made up the hurricanes I would have got my degree in Meteorology instead of Economics. Oh I almost forgot they have great weather stories that are awesome! Some are sad so I skip those. Plus anything the National Weather wants us to know it's right there and you can't miss it! I just love this App..JAZavisVersion: 15.1
WeatherNut817I have loved this app through and through and I really love love love the real-time minutecast and alerts. But: on the reports, why can’t you report things like ragweed pollen levels or like pet dander or whatever on it? Also I want to say that another great improvement would be like to say like “ tv glitch likeliness percentage” based on how much the rain is and how much it’s gonna block out the signal so we know “weather” 😉 ( see what I did there? 😉) or not to turn off the weather channel if we want EXTRA info from it, some people do! I don’t mean to be like picky but it would be a great nice thing to do AccuWeather. Anything else? No I think not, except for like maybe a “ thunder dB level” maybe so we can like know who loud it’s going to be because it just thundered really loud where I am maybe make it like we record the sound and like report it as “needs dB measurement” and you can tell us the dB level. With like AI or something idk but that would be great. On the TV glitch likeliness you could do it like the Minutecast doing like for every minute how likely it is? I would like to see these changes happen in the iOS app. It would be just GREAT to me and I think I would use it so much more . If you updated it like this I would really just think I would use it SoOoo much more and enjoy it 90% more than I do (100%) who doesn’t want 190% enjoy- ness rate? I would just love to see these changes happen AccuWeather. Plz make them happen. I would love this app even more. Thanks! -WeatherNut817.ThepandaicipoplovesLoveNikkiVersion: 13.0.5
Perfect for MinnesotaI’ve tried numerous weather apps and have been really frustrated until this one. I’ve now deleted all the others, which were worse than useless, and rely on this one. I’m in Minneapolis, MN and need reliable information about snowfalls...when they will hit, and how much snow will fall. This one does that with daily and hourly forecasts. It also shows you precipitation forecasts minute by minute for the next two hours, which is vital information when trying to decide whether you have time to run an errand before the roads turn slippery. I was incredibly pleased with how informative this app was, and how accurate (taking into account the inherent difficulty of predicting where snow will fall and how much will come). The predictions are detailed and regularly updated as the storm approaches, and this app matches the reliability of our local forecasters. Other apps I used were constantly showing icons for snow that was never predicted by local forecasters (and never came), or alerting me all the time that it was freezing outside. You might as well tell me the Earth is spinning...it’s utterly useless information for half the year here. So I was always always running around trying to verify the forecasts of those apps. What’s the point? But this winter, I came to trust this app. Very impressive, given a polar vortex with -29 temps, and then getting hammered with a ton of snow a few weeks later than we usually get such massive storms. Thank you for finally putting solid weather forecasts into my hands! I happily paid for the upgrade..CricketCornerVersion: 12.1.0
Still one of the bestI’ve been obsessed with meteorology since I was a kid, and have used AccuWeather daily for years. In my personal experience the app has gotten less accurate at least with their 60 minute forecast. That was always pretty spot on with not too much inaccuracy since it’s extremely short range. Recently it has been less accurate in my experience. I just watched the hour forecast change its mind 4-5 times in a half an hour. From no rain for an hour to wait it’s going to rain for 2 minutes then stop. Next it was rain may form in 58 minutes which led me to harness my huskies for a quick walk except when we get outside oh it’s sprinkling not a big deal it’s probably the edge of the rain moving out the minute forecast said no rain so I keep walking just to have it start raining harder and I check again oh just kidding it’s going to rain for 16 minutes. It changed at least once more after I made it back inside. Meteorology isn’t an exact science so nobody should expect perfection. However, an hour forecast doesn’t typically have a lot of error it’s essentially what’s on the radar right now and how fast what direction it’s moving. Hours and days out present actual errors which are expected. This type of thing has happened a couple of other times as well. I stopped double checking the radar to compare with the hourly, except with several weather, since AccuWeather typically nails it. I think now I will definitely start double checking the radar since I’ve lost some faith in the accuracy. I still love AccuWeather, but that does keep it from being 5 stars in my opinion..Led65Version: 20.0.8
Epic, other than 1 or 2 wrong forecastsI wrote a review a couple months back about getting alerts for MT and I’m in MA, but silly me, that was because i forgot to turn notifications off after a relative went up there so I could warn them of any bad weather. Luckily I was able to warn him about a Blizzard Warning. Back on topic, the forecasts are really accurate. The minutecast is not to bad. Don’t expect it to be exactly what it says though. It may start a few minutes earlier or later, wether it’s snow or rain. The radar for the current time is quite accurate. This app warned me of a hailstorm with the radar and minutecast, so I was able to warn everyone at a party we had this past weekend to go inside and to the basement so we could watch the storm. The hourly forecast, eh. It’s right 50/50, depending on if it is actually raining. The hourly forecast will say it will rain but it doesn’t. When it is supposed to rain that day, it will say there will be 3-6 hour breaks, then a 1 hour shower/flurry/thunderstorm. The precise location shows my adress, but says it is in the town closest to me on a west/east basses. I have been using this app since I got into meteorology almost 3 years ago. Also, this app predicts the real feel pretty well. The Weather Channel will say 85 with a real feel up to 87, but this app really says what it feels like (may be over 20F over what it really is). Also, the AQI (Air Quality Index) is good. When all my apps say abundant sunshine, this app says haze, and what do you know? It’s hazy due to smoke from distant fires like it says! This app deserves 10/5 stars. Thanks, AccuWeather!.ThepicproVersion: 14.11
A Traveler’s “Must Have”! Accurate to the SECOND❤️WONDERFUL APP🌟 that uses data feed directly from NOAA (National Oceanic Atospheric Association)!!!
We used this app when driving across the United States during tornado season. It was VITAL when traveling through the stormy Mid-West and predicted thunderstorms TO THE MINUTE. I was amazed how we would literally be in the middle of America’s Bread-Basket region, MILES from civilization and an alert pops up on the app “it’s going to rain/lightening at 2:16pm”... and yup, the drops would hit the windshield at 2:16pm. It also has a layered map you can customized if you want to see satellite or Doppler radar, etc. I LOVE the severity color coding so you can see where the most intense storm regions are located and you can plan accordingly. One of the BEST features is the app will warn you when you should seek shelter and it endeavors to do this as early as possible...sometimes it is hours in advance, sometimes it is only minutes. It is an invaluable tool to keep yourself and your Loved Ones safe. Even if you are not traveling but have property, animals or crops/garden you want to protect, this app is worth the download. By the way, everything I described above IS available in the free version. God Bless you all at NOAA and Accuweather! 😘 (...and before you ask, no, I am paid to give this review. I doing it out of memory for my mother who recently passed away. Shortly before the COVID lockdown, I drove her across America to see her childhood home. Using this app made it an enjoyable and safer journey.) PS: hug your family today!.GoddessAscendingVersion: 15.1
Consistently Out of Date ForecastsThe first year using this app it was always spot on, especially the precipitation forecast. It would reliably give start and stop times for rain and was seldom off by more than 1-2 minutes.
But over the past few months the app has repeatedly failed to update forecast changes.
For example, there was a possibility for a moderately severe windstorm in our area with gusts up to 50mph and flooding rain amounts.
In contrast, NOAA reported on Deep Weather nearly 36 hours ago that the low pressure system will come in too far south to allow for the strong winds and heavy rains ‘previously predicted. Currently, the AccuWeather app still shows that we are having strong sustained winds with gusts up to 40mph right now and up to 50mph after sunrise. In actuality, we are having relatively calm weather with a light breeze and moderate rainfall rates. Several other weather apps including The Weather Channel have already made the update several hours ago and show the actual current weather and updated wind forecasts.
As I live on a houseboat, accurate wind and flood forecasts are very important in order to prepare our outside area to prevent objects from being blown into the river and add additional back up attachments to the mooring chains. This is the third time this winter that Accuweather has failed to update forecasts when heavy wind and rains previously forecast were no longer expected to occur. AccuWeathers forecasts have become far too inaccurate to be of any use for my area..MoonswimVersion: 20.0.10

This multi-layered data integration enables AccuWeather to produce forecasts that are often regarded as remarkably precise, detailed, and insightful, supporting decision-making across various sectors. One problem is that the radar looks out of place it kinda looks like idk what to call it but it looks like that for part of the time..BadbxjabxjjbxsbjxabjxbajVersion: 21.0.18
49%This app is good, not great. I find it mostly easy to use, and I like that I can get more information within the app than I can with other weather apps. For example, in addition to a general allergy outlook, I can get an estimate of the levels of certain specific environmental allergens- including mold, which is very useful for me, as I have a severe mold allergy. The real feel forecast is also useful. So yes, there are a lot of good features. Furthermore, I actually have not found the ads to be THAT much of an inconvenience. Typically I can skip them after 5 seconds, and I have yet to personally experience the really annoying issues that other people have mentioned. BUT.
If you’re forecasting weather, how on earth does a “49%” chance of rain or a “51%” chance of rain actually qualify as a forecast? ‘Maybe it will rain, or maybe it won’t’ is not super helpful, and adding 1% to that just makes it absurd. I can understand that sometimes there might be a 40% chance of rain, or perhaps even 50%. But I regularly find whole swathes of the forecast (like 6-10 hours in a single day’s forecast) written as a series of numbers like 51%, 48%, 49%, 47%... you get the idea. Usually this occurs for multiple days in a week, often more than half. Honestly, it feels sort of like a cop-out rather than a forecast, and it’s actually kind of laughable. So when it comes to rain, I feel like I can’t really rely on accuweather. I always check this app AND the weather channel. I very often find that other sources predict the chance of rain as 20%, or 70%, or anything else that’s not 49% or 51%. So I have no idea what’s going on with that..DannoNanoVersion: 15.10.1
Mostly great! There are tons of weather apps available. The devs description is accurate, but I will tell you my top Pros/Cons. PROS: ~ Love the radar. Gives you an option to view the past or future. ~ A slick “Minute by Minute” wheel that pinpoints precipitation for the next two hours. ~ A ton of features that don’t overwhelm you when launching the app. The basic stuff is clearly and nicely laid out and simple taps/swipes will get you to deeper details if desired. CONS: * The “location services” pin points my house right on the mark. But, the app declares the location is a nearby city instead of the one my house is in. * I have several weather apps that use location services plus my own house thermometer. AccuWeather many times states that it is 4-6 degrees cooler than all the others. * That’s it. Some may feel those are picky things, but it is enough to knock off a star IMHO. Overall, a great app. I was happy to pay the $4 to support the devs and also get rid of the ads. 😄
UPDATE: AccuWeather no longer offers a pay once to get rid of ads. It is now a monthly or yearly fee. Besides costing much more, “family sharing” means nothing now. EVERY family member must pay the on-going fee if you want to get rid of the annoying ads. In other words, my pay once fee does not get grandfathered in. 👎🏻.Bill_JohnsonVersion: 14.10
Originally came to complain but….I came on to complain about the September update which completely changed the app. Before the change this was the only app I used as it was a simple interface and ran smoothly. Even with the ads. But that last update was so bad that it kept crashing and would have to restart. I was forced to download another competing app which I hated but I rather use that app than restart AccuWeather 3 times before it worked. But as I came to App Store to complain and was about to write my heartbroken review I decided to check to see if other ppl were having same issue and not just me( incase was my phone which I knew it wasn’t) and lo and behold 😲 there’s was another new update …. Immediately updated and just like before it opened on first try and ran smooth just like before 🤗🤗🤗. Closed and reopened just to be sure and it works good so far. So guys I saw others had same issue and if u were an AccuWeather only person Get the new download. I’m about to delete that other competing app and go back to being best pals with my AccuWeather. Thanks for listening to your customers and the app looks awesome. This was a great start to my morning 🤗🤗🤗.Kaya12130117Version: 21.0.5
WeatherI get the MOST ACCURATE weather from this App !
Many weather channels & apps to choose from . I use to go by other sources , but most of them never told me the REAL WEATHER ,LIKE ACCUWEATHER DOES .It also gives more information about what to except on Winds ,Rain , Snow , and with Hourly , Daily or Weekly . So when it’s time for a Vacation or just going out shopping for the Day , I know exactly what to wear , and what items , like a Umbrella or Jacket for the cooler weather in the evening. I Have DELETED ALL MY OTHER WEATHER APPS with mistrusted details ! This one App tells me everything I need for any Outing .Makes my Days Happy , when I’m prepared .Went to Family Reunion, Very Nice Warm 80’s Weather , until the middle of outside Reunion. It started to pour down the rain , and chilled off quickly .I had a change of warmer clothes ,and raincoat & rainboots ,with a Umbrella in my Car .Sure made me tell everyone about Accuweather ,when they all kept asking me , how did you know to be prepared for a such a sudden change ! I felt like I was the Smartest Person Out Of the Whole Family !
Thank You Accuweather , you are my Daily Best Friend !

Used to love it, Aug 2025 Update made unhelpful UI changesThis has been my go to weather app for many years because I found the display of information was easy to read quickly, it was easy to navigate, and the level of detail was helpful. I’m very disappointed to see that much of what I enjoyed was ruined with the last update. Most of the detailed info is still there, but it is hard to find. Location selector is awkward (other reviews are saying it just doesn’t work for them) and the font and graphics make it much harder to get that “at a glance” view of the weather for the day. Some information has been removed from my preferred views. I like the hourly day view graph a lot, but it takes too much scrolling to see the whole day, and the scale of the graph was adjusted so there is barely a change in the line between 60 and 100 degrees?? The change in scale and don’t also makes it harder to read the Real Feel Temps. This view also doesn’t show sunrise and sunset times (which I always look for) but they are listed on the other hourly view, which seems like a sloppy mistake.
Overall very disappointed to see my once favorite weather app fall into the trap of making UI changes “just because”, with no benefit to the users..RachuliusVersion: 21.0.3
Price Increase, Quality DecreaseThis was a good app until the recent update. Now you can’t see beyond 12 hours out without paying for Premium PLUS, which used to be a free feature. I’m already subscribed to Premium but apparently Premium Plus is the new Premium. Disgusting. Beyond that, the aesthetic is weird now and is trying to be too similar to The Weather Channel app. Might as well just use TWC app because they don’t charge to see 24 hours of weather. I’m deleting this app and just forgoing the rest of the year I have left for Premium since it apparently doesn’t get you anything useful besides getting rid of ads. Do companies not know when they have a good thing anymore?
Edited: The developers reached out to let me know how to find the 72 hour view as before, in the list view. I do appreciate that and I increased my rating accordingly. I do still think it’s wrong that they’ve paywalled some previously free features. I would be more interested in paying a monthly subscription if they added innovative features instead of asking users to pay for old, free features. Either way, I am glad my favorite features seem to be excluded from the paywall after all, so I will keep using the app as my default..Dawn_21Version: 15.9
Not so AccuI’ve used this app for a long time. I really enjoyed the radar feature provided. But the daily and weekly forecast is so far from accurate, I don’t feel confident using the app anymore. I understand the concept of “predicting weather” so that isn’t the issue. The issue comes from comparing it to three other weather apps at the same time. I didn’t start this comparison immediately, but time and time again the app failed to reliably provide “accurate” forecasts. When I started comparing to other apps, I noticed a trend. The three other apps were similar in forecast, but this app was so far away from them, it brought many doubts. For example, this app stated there was a 77% chance of rain on a particular day, while the other apps were 24% and lower. Technically, a 77% chance and a 24% chance are the same thing, if one understands what “a chance” for rain means. But, I personally plan my activities based on that percentage. If it’s higher, I’ll choose indoor activities, and if it’s lower I’ll choose outer activities. The example I gave was only one of many. I give this app three stars because it isn’t a bad app and has some good features, but it also isn’t “accurate” when it comes to forecasting..Gree--dyVersion: 15.4
Was a 4, now a 3I don’t much care for your recent update. It takes too long to finish loading and updating so I can actually get current info. You took away the feature that lets you pull down on the screen for update. You changed the order of the allergens (why would you do that? I had the order memorized, now I have to read each one). You removed the phases of the moon. I do like the “today, tonight, tomorrow” feature. I’ll see how I feel about it all when I get used to it. But the last thing I needed in my life right now was more change.
Update: got a notification that I got a developer response. But I don’t see any way to access it. Oh well. Might try a different weather app. Oh. To add to the above comments, I now have to scroll to see the humidity. Didn’t need to before. Nuisance.
2nd update. Finally read the developer response. I don’t know if it displays to the general reader, but my take on it was, “Our technology is more important than what you want. So we’re going to push our technology.” That’s not a quote, but my interpretation. Mr/Ms Developer, I have seen your glowing statements about how everybody just loves the new update. That’s not what I’m reading in the reviews. FYI, people really don’t like being lied to. I’m going elsewhere for my weather..GaiaLadyVersion: 14.1.1
Too many ads for a weather serviceToo long, didn’t read: I deleted Accuweather due to too many ads. Nearly rated it two stars, but it other than the excess amount of ads it is a well-made weather forecasting service.
Well-made weather forecasting app that is not too difficult to navigate. It gives many ways of tracking weather on the radar as well as well as provides clear information about upcoming events. I frequently used Accuweather for many years until their new updates recently, which have dramatically reduced user-friendliness. Not only are many of the functions of the app now made premium—which is not a huge bother to me as they were not essential— but there are too many ads. While I understand the need for revenue, I also do not think it should come at the cost of the people using the app, especially an app of this kind. It now seems to be that Accuweather does not care for the users so much as they care for revenue, since many of the ads have hindered me from seeing what the weather outlook was in severe weather scenerios. If Accuweather could at the least remove the long pop-up ads that cover your whole screen, I will reconsider my rating..AmusedChickenVersion: 21.0.7
Like it, but concernedI like the new design more than the one before. I haven’t really been a fond of the circle, but now I can switch it to a regular graph which is very convenient. I like the fact that the icons are more colorful, not just plain black or white. The Apple Watch widget is also very complex and informative which I have been waiting for it for a long time. The accuracy on minute cast isn’t always there, on the other hand, but I can manage that. The concerning part is, when I wanted to set up the new app, going to the “Privacy settings“ tab, there are 3 tabs; the second one in the middle called “Purposes” is about collecting personal information; click the “Purpose” tab and you get 3 other tabs with analytics, services and marketing. Each has its own toggle and they’re supposed to let you opt in or out of them. On the top it says “you are in full control”, but the first 2 tabs, the analytics and the services, are opted in and they’re greyed out, so I can’t opt out if I wanted to. I’m not sure if they need them to be opted in, in order for the app to work properly, but it is surely restricting your choice of what you want to share. I’m a premium member, so I’m not sure if this has anything related to it..DIDE2020Version: 21.0.3
Great but Push Notifications Need HelpI use this app daily and for weather predictions I find it very accurate. The one annoyance I do have is, there are a lot of push notifications which is great because they will alert me to interesting stories like volcanoes erupting etc.
However, when you select the push notification is just sends you to the current temperature screen for your location. From there I would have to figure out a way in the app to get to a particular story which I never do because it’s not immediately clear in the app how to accomplish this.
Would love if they would fix this behavior so that when they give a push notification, the action of selecting the notification takes the user directly to the article or alert in question. If it can’t, just don’t send those types of notifications. It’s a negative user experience and lowers my opinion of and desire to use the app for anything other than current temp and radar - it’s actually more prompting me to turn off my notifications bc it is always such a let down to not be able to read more. Thanks!.HefdelightVersion: 20.0.4
Updated: CS was greatUPDATE: Customer Service was really great. The link to restore a purchase is definitely not intuitive. There is the tiniest, minuscule link for restoring purchases located at the very bottom of the pop up you get when you click on the Premium+ button. So, my no ads purchase from years ago has been restored. I still like the app… it seems to do as well tracking the weather as the other weather app I have, which is Weather Bug. So, I plan to keep using it… for now.
—————-
Several years ago, I paid for no ads. Because the app keeps locking up after the last update, I uninstalled and then reinstalled. Tried to find a “restore purchase” button, but there doesn’t appear to be one. Only thing I can see is the Premium button. I’m not paying a second time for no ads. Plus, after reading recent reviews, it seems I’m not the only one having serious issues with the app. It used to be great, but is now total garbage. Two stars only because it served me well for many years prior to becoming a trash app. Guess I’ll look to replace it with a better weather app..SwissyrescueVersion: 15.12.1
Used to be a good appAccuWeather used to be the powerhouse free weather app. Unfortunately, the ads have gotten out of hand. The UI is still pretty good, and the forecast are more often accurate than not, but you are bombarded with a full screen ad every time you change screens (from daily to hourly, or hourly to radar, or from the daily summary to the weekly summary). All of them come equipped with a 5-10 second timer before you can skip, the “close” or skip buttons are always tucked in the corner, and the same color as the ad. Don’t worry, If you’ve already been hit with three ads during your 3 minute browsing session, there are another three (probably the same ones you just saw) heading your way fast. If you can find a way to work around the frustration of the ads, it’s a pretty good app. If you want to do a quick peek of the weather without having to jump through hoops, or put energy into navigating, this is not for you. Even if you don’t mind the ads at first, you will grow to hate them as much as you love the accuracy. I understand money has to be made somehow, but certainly a less greasy way is possible.Admiral BoozehammerVersion: 14.17.1
Just one little thingGreat app. Accurate and simple to use… except when you send out text notices with titles like Drenching Rains Coming. When I click on it it takes me to a page with a white banner on the left that allows me to do all sorts of things like upgrade the app, or review the app like I am doing here, now. The problem I have is that the only way I have found to close this page and get back to the regular app page with the forecast is to turn off my phone and turn it back on. I mean to say that there never is anything here on this page that has anything to do with the title you sent me. Oh, I can go to Channel 13’s website, but I don’t want to go to the website. There is a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and I want to look at the forecast. So, I am going to turn off my phone and turn it back on to get control of my phone back, again. Next time I am going to delete the app. I can get weather apps anywhere. I mean pick a TV channel. They all offer weather apps. (Or you could fix the page so a person can tell how to get off of it? Is Update 14.0 a Money Grab Attempt?Been following reviews for about a month now. 95% of them dislike the update and ask for Version 13 back. Developer replies have been canned and unhelpful. I don’t need to read for the 50th time about your “persistent” toolbar. Only thing persistent is how the app fails compared to Version 13. I’m seriously wondering about the trustworthiness of Accuweather company. In 2017 there were reports that Accuweather was selling customer current location data without permission to other companies. Has this practice stopped? I hear other comments about ad placement becoming a nuisance. Is this a ploy to drive subscriptions up? Will you be releasing an “update” that returns you to the nice Version 13 but you call it Accuweather Platinum or another term other than premium so all those premium users are stuck with the inferior Version 14 unless they pay every year for a subscription? Please be honest with us. Please respond to my post — I’ll check to see if you deleted it and keep posting until we hear a reply. I would love if you prove me wrong and return to Version 13 without additional charges. Looking forward to your reply. Bill.UnomillionrobVersion: 14.16
Superior quality weather forecastsThis weather app because it combines an easy to use interface with surprisingly accurate forecasts which often pin weather events to within minutes of when they actually happen. I have been using the free version with advertising which used to have mostly innocuous ads. Now full screen ads routinely pop up, some with decidedly scammy content you don’t dare click to dismiss. The only way out is to swipe the whole app closed then reopen and hope not to see the same ad. This used to be a four star app, but the toxic ads made me reduce it to two stars.
Update 29 January 2023: There are still full screen ads which pop up right when you are trying to do something which is jarring and actually tends to make one resent the advertiser, the opposite of what is intended. Most of the ads seem to be cancellable now, some only after a mandatory countdown. So the advertising situation is better and you can sped $0.99/month to get rid of the ads if you want. I’m raising my rating one star, mostly based on the good accuracy, but hampered by advertising which reduces the usability of the application..Bill in AkronVersion: 15.8.2
Layout is ConfusingI decided to download the premium version of this app after The Weather Channel had too many video advertisements. I was just tired of the ads. This app has no ads, but it is the LEAST user-friendly app I’ve ever had. The “back arrow” buttons are the same color and size as the text, and they’re placed right next to the text, so it took me a while to figure out how to go back. And every screen, the back button looks different. Sometimes you have to swipe down to get out of a screen (for example, hourly), and sometimes you have to hit the back button. And don’t even get me started on trying to toggle the hourly “compass”-style button. As soon as you touch the circle to try to drag it, the entire data does this weird zoom thing and the sensitivity is way too high for anyone’s thumb. It’s like they adjusted the mouse speed to 100- any tiny movement and you’re 4 hours past where you wanted to go, and it doesn’t land where you want it to land. Also, the circle should be on the actual hours, not on the bar graph below. You have to move the circle on the bar graph to see the hours change on top. It’s just not a very well-designed app..Audreylynn88Version: 12.0.2
App is great but “RealFeel” is misleadingI do love the minutecast format (which is usually correct) and the overall look of the App. Unfortunately, for the past few weeks the RealFeel temperature has been absolutely wrong. And I mean off by more than 10-15 degrees.
I first noticed it on a day when the RealFeel was expected to stay in the single digits all day, but the lowest the App ever got to that day was 16. Thinking it was just warmer than they predicted, I ignored it. But the last few days have been bitterly cold, again with single digit RealFeel predictions. Again, the past 2 morning the App has shown the RealFeel temps at around 15-17. However, THREE other weather apps currently say the RealFeel is between 3-5 degrees. That’s well over a 10 degree difference which is a HUGE difference in the winter, and very frustrating.
I don’t understand how they it information is so off compared to several other Apps. We’re expected to get a few days of small showers this week, and Accuweather makes no mention of some of those snow showers. If it ends up that it does snow those days, and they’re not predicting snow like every other app, then it’s kind of pointless to keep Accuweather around..AudreyRose08Version: 14.6.2
Unable to manage specific notificationsThe weather is displayed in an easy to read and aesthetically pleasing way, but ultimately it is no different than the weather channel app or others rated highly in the App Store. I downloaded this app because I was on the hunt for a weather app that had specific notification settings (ie, UV index alerts, pollen allergy alerts, storm alerts, rain alerts, etc.). I want to pick and choose which notifications I receive and don’t receive. The settings menu is limited to enabling/disabling notifications for local severe weather, government alerts, and weather news. I signed up for the premium subscription in he hopes that the settings menu would expand, but it did not and I was left with the same basic notification options. I want to be able to turn on notifications for UV index. I want to be able to turn on notifications for heavy rain. I want to be able to turn off notifications for light rain. This would be an easy adjustment to make. I would give it 5 stars if I were able to manage notifications of all the information provided..LDP2011Version: 16

AccuWeather: Weather Forecast Negative Reviews
USED TO BE one of the best iPhone weather appsThe Accuweather iPhone app has gone through a number of interface changes in recent years. The 2020 version was by far the best UNTIL their latest interface design, which was a disaster. Despite the advertising hype, I find it hard to believe that anyone with even an ounce of good taste thinks the new interface is “exciting”. “Just plain ugly” is how I would describe it, or—if I were feeling especially charitable, I might call it “generic” or “nondescript”. The interface it replaces was artful by comparison. The new interface is so unattractive that I may delete this app from my phone just so I don’t have to look at it! As if this wasn’t enough, the new layout is also less practical than the old one. For example, the “today” screen used to show current temp, high/low temps, wind speed and humidity at a glance. Now users must scroll past the advertising to find the basic information like wind speed and humidity. I’m sorry, Accuweather developers, but I have to give your new interface a huge THUMBS DOWN and lower my rating from five stars to two. Anyone looking for a first-class weather app should take a look at WeatherBug. UPDATE: To make matters worse, the display advertising in this app is thoroughly obnoxious. It wasn’t enough to have a big square display ad taking up half of the Home Screen. Now when you navigate to the “Hourly” screen, you are presented with a full-page ad that must be dismissed before you can see anything else. Ridiculous!!!.OmalanskyVersion: 14.15
I’m better at predicting weatherI want to like this app. I really do. I’d love to think I had something that could accurately tell me what the weather will be like on any given day. Unfortunately this app is horrible. Many times I look at the current weather and it will say it’s snowing and it’s clear out….or say it’s clear and it’s snowing. Most often when I look at the week to come, within days it’s all changed around. What’s the point then? If you can’t predict a week in advance why do it? Just to keep changing it every day. And it’s hilarious that they think they can pull off a month in advance! Please. Just for laughs, in November I counted the number of days it said it would snow in December. First time I looked there was 10 days. Then 8….then 6….then 2. So again, if it keeps being changed then why even try to predict the future weather? Seems like it should say ‘for entertainment purposes only’. You certainly can’t rely on this app being correct at all. If it says it’s going to be sunny today but I feel like a storm is coming. I’m bringing my jacket. I don’t trust this app more than my own judgement. But to be fair, it’s safe to say that it’s not really the app. It’s the weather. It’s unpredictable and nobody can accurately predict it. That being said, I can call the weather better than the app does! :)
And seems like this last update made it so glitchy it’s not even usable. It freezes up all the time. I thought I’d try deleting it and reinstalling it, but I just saw there was an update days ago. Right when it started having issues. Time to find a new weather app..Irishluck22Version: 14.17
Updated (v20.0.6) Now Great UI; Very Accurate; Excellent, Responsive SupportNegative: For many versions, it has ALWAYS been very difficult to restore purchases.
AccuWeather has been for several versions and for many years now (13 Jan 2020) a great app—one of the best, most useful I’ve licensed (having paid for the ad-free upgrade). (I am embarrassed that I did not post an updated correction to my 2014 v7 review until today.) The user interface is clean, easy to use and understand. One can, with a little finesse, even create a location for which to see weather forecasts as specific as for an single address, road intersection, or place (eg, an outdoor stadium). I have found the forecasting to be incredibly accurate, sometimes to the minute! Last winter, this AccuWeather app predicted snow in 18 minutes, as I contemplated rushing from home to do an urgent errand. Exactly 18 minutes later, as I came outside, having finished, it started snowing as I walked to my car—awesome! I have played soccer outdoors for 25 years. Rain timing predictions have rarely been wrong. When AccuWeather forecast rain between 8pm and 9pm, such almost always occurred. (My league’s games are typically 7pm to 8:45pm, once weekly, 40 weeks each year, so I’ve experienced several hundred such accurate timing forecasts.) Support is truly exceptional. For the few occasions when I’ve had questions, e-mail has been answered quickly, specifically and thoughtfully. I highly recommend paying for this app—my money has been well spent..Steve_.WVersion: 20.0.6
The Ad situation has gotten absurd.I’ve used AccuWeather for a looong, long time. Probably since the iPhone 2. So, essentially forever. I’ve mostly enjoyed it. I wasn’t crazy when the newest design hit, and I still miss the local interaction where you used to be able to report hyper-local conditions, but they fine tuned a few things and I got over it. I never paid to remove ads, because I’m not well off (disabled), didn’t need premium, and I figured the ads probably made them more revenue than a flat fee would anyway. My infinite regrets for giving you guys my eyeball money for all that time is now deeply heartfelt.
Not only are the new Ads **incredibly** intrusive and obnoxious to a degree rarely seen outside of freemium money grab “games” (full page, won’t let you “x” out for periods of time, play loud sounds even when you’re on silent etc) but you also can’t pay a flat fee to get rid of them anymore, and those of us who didn’t pay before aren’t “grandfathered” into anything except advertising. Quite a “screw-you” to those of us who’ve been with you for so long. I’m disabled… all I want is accurate info that I can see without waiting for a full-screen advertisement to ALLOW me to control my device, so I can do what’s necessary to get my plants/pets/partner safely and comfortably where they need to be when things turn. I guess that’s too big of an ask?.SamgoodeVersion: 15.8.2
Innaccurate + FORCE ADS EVEN TO SUBSCRIBERSI don't use a Weather app for entertainment. I live in Kentucky. We get tornadoes, snow. We get really bad weather. I really need to know what's coming. I live in an area where we do have a tornado siren, but I don't hear it sometimes. It would be really nice to be able to check my phone or have my phone Alert me if there's severe weather coming suddenly. On a daily basis it tells me it's going to rain or snow, et cetera, and it's clear skies. It happens consistently. It's been like this for a long time.
And then there's this. This is my review Part 2. I keep seeing ads. I paid for this app a long time ago. Long, long, long ago. Years ago. Yes, I paid REAL MONEY for this app. But they're showing me ads. If I reload the app, still I see adds. But that's not enough for them. Suddenly, lately they've been nagging me for more money to upgrade to an even "better" version. Yeah, right. To show me things that the first app should be showing me NOW as a "subscriber."
So that's what they're all about is money! Well, I'm not paying any more money. Why should I have to? I've already paid money to be a "subscriber." I'm a subscriber who's being forced to watch ads anyway because they're not happy with the amount that I paid. Greedy. That's what they are. I have news for them. The app wasn't worth what I paid when I paid it, and I'm sure as heck not paying more. And I'm tired of their FORCED ADS (That do make them real revenue by the way.) SO I'm taking it off my phone..April_91_Version: 16
Still incredibly bad forecastingUpdate May 2025: nothing has changed. Still atrocious forecasting. On Friday it said the Saturday high was suppose to be 70 in my area using the closest weather station a mile away from me. It actually got to 81. Only 11 degrees off. Don’t waste your time or money on garbage like this. It’s officially uninstalled for me now. Apple’s stock app is better than this tbh.
Original review: In all seriousness this has to be one of the worst apps for even short term forecasting. Forget anything long term. I have screenshots that show a 5 day outlook of my area for temps. Day 1 high was 89. Day 2 89. Then on day 3 temps showed 75 for the high. Day 4 was 75 and day 5 was 73. So when someone looks at that it is clear and obvious there is a cool down coming. When day 3 came around guess what? It was still 89 outside so the forecasting is either incompetent or maybe dare I say agenda driven? Show someone the cooler temps in the future but reality is different and blame it on climate change. For the radar show someone a giant wall of Red approaching but in reality it is a light to moderate rain when it arrives. The forecasting for Francine was terrible also. That showed a Cat 2 by landfall and it was barely a Cat 1. That’s a huge miscalculation. Ultimately it was a tropical storm. Time to question the motives of these products and look for alternatives in the market place to get better value and accuracy..Gibbs_RulesVersion: 20.0.16
The information is there, but notifications aren'tRemember how the old ABC 11 weather app had a setting that let you change what notifications you wanted to get? Like, maybe you didn't need the alert every time it started raining, but you did want the alert for a tornado warning. And it had a comprehensive list of weather conditions you wanted to be notified about.
Well, this app doesn't have that. You either have notifications, or you don't. Now, this wouldn't be so bad if the notifications were useful, but I got one that warned me it would start to rain an hour from now at around midnight. When I was home. In bed. Trying to sleep. And I don't live in a flood area, and can drive in the rain, so it really wouldn't have mattered to me, anyway. Then today I got a notification that essentially was clickbait. It popped up on my screen "don't forget this when it starts to rain!" With a little emoji umbrella. Right. So, now I also get notifications that give no actual information from this thing? Yeah, that's useless AND annoying. I guess I just get to turn off all notifications and be surprised by weather when it happens.
But hey, at least I can look at the forecast manually.
UPDATE Jan 2025: they removed the widget, so now you can’t just glance at the weather or forecast without viewing ads by opening the app. The widget was my go-to weather predicter, since I could glance at it and the iPhone one at the same time before clicking on the AccuWeather one for more information. Now, with no widget, I just end up clicking on the iPhone app, since it’s more convenient for me. I don’t know if this is bothering anyone else, but this was a huge downgrade for me..ThinePwnageVersion: 20.0.10
Wishy WashyThis is probably one of the most wishy washy weather apps I have ever used. Minutecast is highly inaccurate. For instance my minutecast currently says rain may form in the next 41 minutes and it’s pouring down outside already. It’s not forming!! It’s already raining 🤦♂️. I really miss the crowd source weather reporting feature that AccuWeather was known for and the reason I initially downloaded AccuWeather. Now instead of being able to report current conditions we get inaccurate weather guessing. I re-downloaded AccuWeather back last winter in hopes of seeing some snow but all I got was a minutecast thats saying it’s snowing and the sun was shining so I deleted AccuWeather. I re-downloaded AccuWeather again Tuesday because t-mobile tuesday reward app give me a free year of upgraded AccuWeather and again I basically received an upgraded wishy washy weather app. Yes weather is very hard to predict as weather can change very quickly but to constantly get it’s sunny when it’s raining, or it’s raining when it’s sunny is just laughable. Most states have local news stations that have weather apps that are much more accurate. I recommend anyone wanting or needing accurate weather forecasts download their local news app or you may end up with a tornado 🌪 and AccuWeather telling you it’s bright & sunny. The only way I will ever download AccuWeather again is if they bring back the crowd sourcing weather reporting feature otherwise it’s just NotSo AccuWeather. And to jump on board with other reviews.. I as well prefer the older UI over the new but looking at reviews it seems the devs don’t much care what it’s customers like..RealReview4gamersVersion: 14.12.6
I don’t buy subscriptionware.I’d like to like the Accuweather app. And under the right circumstances I’d willingly pay for it to both support the developers and to remove ads. But on principle I refuse to pay a cent for subscriptionware. And, now that it’s obvious that without a paid subscription Accuweather has dumbed down the app to unusability, the app is leaving my phone. As much as I’m not happy with Apple’s purchase of Dark Sky, turning it into their Weather app, I can say it actually manages to do what a weather app is supposed to do: (mostly) accurately forecast weather events.
When I pay for a license to use an app, it must be for a license that will be mine to use as long as I choose to, and as long as my chosen platform supports it. As I am NOT an early adopter, and choose stability over ‘the latest and greatest,’ running ‘older’ apps lasts a long time. I’m willing to pay for upgrades as needed, by active and purposeful choice, but I won’t ever opt into a forced annual subscription that authorizes an automatic payment for any software package, no matter how inviting or useful. I particularly won’t be extorted into this by “free” crap. While the ad-free version of Accuweather remains subscriptionware, my review stays one star. Again, after the destructive Apple take-over of Dark Sky: if there were a non-subscriptionware upgrade to premium I would purchase. But there isn’t, so I don’t.

It has some issuesI paid for the ad-free version, but every once in a while I start getting ads. Just now I tapped Hourly report and it gave me an ad for Chrome. Close that and now there are ads mixed in with the hourly data. I had to hit Update Now -> Restore Subscription and restart the app to make the ads go away. This happens every few weeks. A Severe Weather alert popped up, but when I tapped it to get more info, it gave me a message that it couldn’t retrieve the data I was looking for. Seriously? A thunderstorm that wasn’t supposed to happen until tomorrow (as predicted by AccuWeather) is blowing in now, but your app refuses to give me any details?
Update - I’m getting ads again, only now there is no “Restore Subscription” option. I guess that’s what I get for contacting support. They removed the option so now I’m forced to see ads even though I’ve paid to remove the ads. Forget it. I’ve deleted this scam of an app and canceled my subscription. It seems to get less and less accurate as time goes on anyway. I’m tired of seeing a prediction of rain so I leave the motorcycle at home when I could’ve enjoyed a nice sunny day or worse, the app insists it’s going to be sunny and warm all day so I take the motorcycle and get rained on. I’m going to find a different app. They’re more interested in making money then providing a quality app..Prince ZordarVersion: 15.3
Data mining! DESPITE lack of user permissions!!!I read an article by a bunch of pointy-headed scientists who have been researching this for more than a year. While most apps are a bit loose on their definitions of privacy, and while I know all apps are probably mining my personal data for advertising and marketing purposes, Accuweather was specifically identified as one of more than 1700 apps that not only mines user data for unclear purposes, but takes MORE than what individual preferences are supposed to allow! It uses location services at all times, even if you turn this feature off or set it to “only when using app”. Naturally, since it has taken experts months to get this far, it is not clear what other ways this app, and others, are violating their own policies — or at the least, using vague language and loopholes to take more than what the average user thinks they are giving permission for. This is a GROSS breach of security and privacy, and it totally gives me the heebie jeebies, and I deleted this app immediately after reading the article. Probably useless, every company on the planet will spy on users if they can make a buck off of it, but this is one thing I can do to put my foot down. Thought others might like to know this isn’t just an innocuous weather app.
OH, also... not super accurate. I’ve been STANDING IN POURING RAIN while the app says it’s only cloudy. It’s fine, I have an umbrella. But when I lived in a major city and needed to walk everywhere, it was basically pointless to have an app NOT tell me it was going to rain that day..Ally_Ally_Bo_BallyVersion: 13.0.5
Hate the new layout, no portrait mode, no hour by hour graphsLandscape mode only? So it appears this version of the iPad app only allows you to use it in landscape mode and does not support viewing data in portrait mode. I typically don’t use my iPad in landscape mode except for the odd spreadsheet and videos the rest of the time I use it in portrait mode. Especially as i am walking around the kitchen each morning trying to get ready for my day and commute to work. Trying to hold an iPad in landscape mode while also tryin to get out coffee and breakfast for the family is impossible. I wish that the app would autorotate depending on the orientation of the user or if there were a button in the settings to allow you to force the app into portrait mode.
No more hour by hour graphs? - the old app allowed you to look at the hour by hour trends of the day in graphical form for temperature, realfeel and % Precipitation. Now all the graphs have been removed and replaced by text? Before at a glance with the charts I could look at the predictions and see what was likely the trend of the day and therefore provide me an easy way to choose if I should do a task that day. Now i have to sit and compare and remember each value hour by hour and try and figure out if we’re just getting a pop up shower in the afternoon or if the whole afternoon is going to be a wash for the Zoo or mowing the lawn..BoilerG97Version: 14.0.1
So so appI was a regular user of Storm, but they deleted the ad-free option so I tried AccuWeather. Nope, It’s worse. The forecast, regardless of the name is no better than any other weather forecast, which is to say poor. A few observations: There is no option that I’ve found for displaying wind speed. The cloud cover is truly odd, lighter cloud cover has darker opacity and heavier cloud cover is lighter opacity, huh? That’s the opposite of what it should be. I’ve got the Premium version and it offers a 25 day forecast, well isn’t that special. The weather forecasters have trouble with tomorrows weather and they think they can forecast 25 days out? For entertainment purposes only. I get FAR too many severe weather notifications, many more than I get in Storm. Most of them are repeats, if a winter weather advisory is posted at 9:00 AM I get a notification right away, if I turn the screen off I will find another notification the next time I open it, for the same original advisory. Once is enough, thank you! Finally, the radar is pretty worthless, sometimes there’s nothing there when there should be, other times while playing the past couple of hours some of the “slices” are missing so the rain/snow is hurry jerky. When I check Storm’s radar it’s much better. Sorry, but this app is pretty sad..PmotzVersion: 11.2.1
Radar Defects & Ads Are Out of ControlThanks for neutering the hourly view by forcing an upgrade to premium to see more than 6+ hours head now. You people are ridiculous! Nobody’s should be paying monthly subscriptions for a stupid weather app!!!!
A slick new look for your stupid ads maybe, certainly not the app. You can’t even tell what the weather is with your app, it’s basically just ads on every page and full screen as you change screens. Should be called AccuAds instead. 👎 You’ve officially hit a new low with the ads that play sounds now! Nothing but crash after crash on iOS 16 after the app has been backgrounded for a while. Ads are ridiculous in this app. Full screen, partial screen. Close ad buttons change positions to make it harder to navigate away from them and stay on screen longer. Developer’s tactics on ad pushing shouldn’t be allowed. Now they’ve added top toolbar ads on the radar screen too. The app isn’t good enough to warrant this type of ad revenue from this company. 👎 Future radar sometimes doesn’t show at all. The times on the scroll is only past to current. Also, when it does work, future radar has missing frames and graphical glitches in the snapshots where it’s missing map data entirely in square or rectangular sections. It’s just glitchy as f*!.SwankPeRFectionVersion: 15.9
Updates have ruined what was a great appI’ve used this app for years… and used to recommend it to others. However, the updates over the last year or so have slowly eaten away at what was once a great, easy to use, and accurate weather app. I tried dealing with the various format changes… as even tho they weren’t as smooth and easy to use… most of the same information was still available… somewhere.
However… the introduction of majorly intrusive ads has done it for me. I’ve waited a few months… thinking a new update would make the ads a bit easier to deal with, but it seems they’re getting flashier and harder to close. I understand the purpose and need for ads, but full screen, flashy ads… with a delay for closing them… along with differing ways to close them (what’s so hard about a simple “X” in the corner of all ads?)… have turned this into a frustrating experience. Anytime I need to check the forecast… I open the app just to get a quick flash of the Home Screen replaced by a full screen ad. I have to wait for the delay time period… then figure out how to close the ad. Is there an “X” or a button? Which button is it… as they’re not all labeled the same way. It makes it too easy to unintentionally open websites I had no desire to open. I suspect the trickiness is purposeful… with the intent to garner ad clicks… which is just wrong, in my opinion.
So overall, what used to be an easy and pleasant app experience… has turned into a frustrating headache. It’s just not worth all that anymore. Especially when apple’s stock weather app has finally caught up with all the formats and features we’ve come to enjoy… all without intrusive ads! So with that… this long time user is deleting the app. I just wanted to come warn potential new users of what to expect..BowergirlVersion: 14.17.1
This was the best weather app before the update..I’ve never understood why developers think update/upgrade means take something simple and make it more complicated to work with. Before the update I could click once or twice and get where I wanted to look. I get it. It is one or two scenarios at play here. 1. Someone is getting paid so they had to show they were doing something for the money, or, 2. New developers with ambitions to make it their own. I am the youngest person where I work by a decade + and it has been a point of pride when talking to the “old heads” about weather, that the app I had for weather (what this app WAS) was way better than the ones they have. Now it is just the same. I went from being “the weatherman” to having a look of shame in telling them this app isn’t good anymore. The one positive take away is on the radar the time is segmented better and has a longer time frame (why I have 2 stars instead of the 1). That and some different graphics would have been a great update. This was the best weather app in my opinion. Now it’s just the same as the rest. Way to play down to the “competition” . I hope that whoever it was that was in charge of this update is not responsible for developing any of my other apps..DCIX5Version: 14.1.1
What happened to Minutecast?Really disappointed to see Minutecast change from what it was before. The ability to rotate clockwise by using my finger was very useful in timing the exact moment I could safely take my dog out (he hates rain!) It was useful in many other ways and was really the thing I loved most about this app. It seems Minutecast has transitioned to a bar graph which is not as user friendly imho. Also not clear if this bar graph is specific to my exact location now. Landscape-only view on iPad also makes this app an inconvenience to use. Overall, this update is a move in the wrong direction and will have me looking for alternatives.
UPDATE
Dear “Developer:” Thanks for the condescending response (awww... “change is awkward”). I’m not a moron, I figured out the new bar graph, the point is that your awkward change is not for the better. You didn’t address the iPad landscape-only issue; I suppose that’s another awkward change. Take a look at all the other overwhelmingly negative reviews after this update. Are all your loyal users just idiots like me for voicing their reactions to your awkward changes? If you really care about what you produce, don’t be so dismissive of the users who have supported you in the past. One bad review speaks 100 times louder than one good review.... and you now have an awful lot of bad reviews..EatmelovemeVersion: 14.0.1 (6)

As so many others have said, this used to be a fantastic app. Up until about a year ago, the forecasts were uncannily accurate, the futurecast radar was brilliant, and the severe weather alerts were timely and reliable. It’s completely changed though, sadly. Now the forecasts are so unreliable they seem almost randomly generated. There’s a seemingly endless stream of unnecessary alarms about dire threats way in the future which don’t materialize, and when severe weather does happen, we get no warning at all! The radar has become a slow, glitchy, low resolution shadow of what it was previously. And most annoyingly, when an urgent emergency severe weather alert gets pushed to my phone, clicking on it opens the app to a page that tells me the alert can’t be downloaded!? This app is a major disappointment and a waste of money, though it previously was superb. Please make it great again!.HehyfhdVersion: 15.12
Not accurate as it use to be.I use to be able to rely on Accuweather but these past few months the reliability has fallen. First it started earlier this year when we had threats for severe weather. We don’t have tornado sirens in our area so we have to rely on phone apps, weather radio and television. Accuweather was doing great with the warnings that particular day until we went under a tornado warning. I wasn’t near a television or my radio at the time of the warning and Accuweather never alerted us for a tornado warning. That was strike one. Strike two came two days ago when Accuweather showed we were about to get some heavy rain ( which we need ) I went outside to cover some equipment that we had been working on, up and noticed not a single cloud in the sky. It was bright and sunny. I downloaded another weather app to double check the weather and it showed us to be sunny and hot. I confirmed this with the NWS center too. That was strike two. Strike three just came when Accuweather decided to send me a severe weather statement alert across my phone for a different Parish that was south of me. Yeah, woke me up. Which is what I want a weather app to do when there truly is severe weather. With that said, I’m done with Accuweather. Perhaps if you all would stop investing money into the Dominator storm chasing stuff and invest it to better the alerts and communications to the people that use your app, then maybe things would be better. I may try Accuweather again later down the road to seeing there are any improvements, but for now I’ll be using my local weather station app as we do have certified accurate meteorologists in our area..Louisiana GuhrlVersion: 11.4.2
About 90% wrong all the timeCrazy cause the app has a good UI and I like the radar but how can you have a job that’s 90% wrong alll the time? It shows rain but we get none, it doesn’t and it does. Whoever you’re getting your forecasting from just needs to find a different job. Any other job you’d be fired. Also there’s been many times where I’ll look at hourly and it’ll show rain within the hour yet when I look at radar it doesn’t show rain at the same time. So even within your own app you can’t get things right. One says different than the other. Another issue is that if you look at the daily it might say rain predicted at 70% and then switch to hourly and nowhere in there is there a 70%. It’s weird, it’s confusing. I’m sure one is average for the day and one is hourly average but it doesn’t seem consistent. Here lately even the temperature has been off. Idk what’s going on with all these weather forecasts but dang get it together. You’d think we’d be better off today than 50 years ago but everything else is getting better at waaay better rates than weather forecasting. You’d think with alllllll this data we’ve been capturing they’d have it figured out by now..RisewithinVersion: 20.0.3
Gone to NOAA APPHad to move to the NOAA app, since all of the complaints including mine, fell on deaf ears. While the previous version of Accuweather that displayed written 10 day forecast and had the interactive circle that you could drag around to the exact minute precip would start for your location (and was amazingly accurate), were much loved and easy to read and that version was so easy to navigate, the new one is just a fail in every way. The closest I can find to what accuweather used to have is the NOAA app, so have moved on. It’s about a 4 star site. Accuweather used to be a 5-star, but the developers who thought they had to copy lesser sites, took a good format and ruined it. Now zero stars from me. If you wanted to add a little color, that would have been fine, but the set up was already the best one out there. I just don’t even get the point of the temperature bar graph thing. It’s rather stupid and so is the replacement graph on a second page for the minute by minute precip dial. Having worked with weather, radar and METAR in the aviation industry for 35 years, I find this hard to navigate, dumbed down version, a waste of my time. I want a site that gives me the maximum information in the fastest and easiest navigable format possible. Recommend everyone checkout the NOAA app..Clr4tkofVersion: 14.2.1
Horrible update. Deleting app. This used to be an ok app. I am a premium (not the new premium plus) user and was reasonably happy with the app until the latest update. And I have two issues. Firstly, the notifications do not work on an iOS platform. If one has signed up for them, and a notification is displayed on my phone or tablet, when I tap on it, it won’t display. Wait five or ten minutes and it might display. Maybe. I have super fast internet so I know that isn’t the issue and the national weather center/NOAA warnings actually do come in correctly. I live in an area that has tornadoes often and I rely on notifications to alert me to danger. If I relied solely on this app and their notifications, I’d never be able to get them! Now to be fair, these notifications from accuweather haven’t worked for ages, but if I spent the money on the new premium plus I’d be mad as heck not being able to access them. Secondly, as a premium user, I used to be able to see the humidity for the day. Now I can’t. I have to buy the new premium plus subscription. Why do I want to pay extra for this when it used to be part of my plan???? Infuriating!!!! And what happened to weather data anyway? Why can’t anyone have weather maps for the whole country? I fly all over and would like to see a map!!! I’d love to see an isobar map. I can still read weather data the “old” way, far more information than I can find on most of these dumbed down apps. If you want this app to give you a very generic idea of what is going on in specific areas then it might be ok. However, with the bugs and the increased cost, it is definitely not worth it. I’m deleting mine and I suggest you don’t even bother downloading it if you want a decent system for a reasonable price..Mewood40Version: 16.1.2
REALLY DISLIKE THE new format!!I liked this app the way it was before (that’s why I bought it!)....But yesterday—without my choosing to update the app—it suddenly changed. The daily format now has a dark blue background with a row of vertical bars lined up side by side which for indicating daily temps. I SO do NOT like this format. I selected this app BECAUSE i liked the general format the way it was when I purchased it.
To change it completely is essentially to tell folks “you must not know what you like”...we will give you something completely different after the fact. It would be like the manufacturer of a car suddenly changing your car model and color a few months after you bought it.
Now I will need go back online and start looking to buy a weather app that has a format I like and then delete this app that I have already purchased. What a bummer!
My suggestion to developers is to tweak the app you have created with some improvements or bug fixes as may be needed.
And that you can safely assume that almost all the folks who bought your app chose it BECAUSE they liked as it was. If you want to created something completely new, start with a new app—do Not completely re-configure the old app!!.*keVersion: 14.0.1 (6)
InaccurateHonestly I don't bother checking any more. If the app says it's going to rain, I carry my umbrella and rubber boots around needlessly. If it says sunny, I get soaked with rain.
I understand predicting the weather can't be 100% accurate, but this is below minimum standards..LunadesVersion: 10.6

Missed the mark! So, with the new update for an app I am paying for, I can no longer have this displayed on my watch as the temperature is only in Fahrenheit?? I am in Canada, where we are on the metric system! That is a huge miss! When will this bug be fixed?.CanadaIsMetricVersion: 21.0.3
Kind of a joke for CanadiansAccuweather is the single least accurate weather app I’ve ever tried. Right at this moment, just as an example, it says it will begin to snow in 32 minutes. It’s 8:13 PM on April 9th in Toronto. It’s seven degrees outside. I’m 24 stories up with an unobstructed view to the west, where I can see a typical beautiful spring evening’s clouds backlit by the setting sun. It will not snow. I am going to delete this garbage..JayPizzlVersion: 13.0.5
Removal of hourly weatherSo along with a new useless "view" of the hourly weather you introduced even another paywall that removes all forecast after 12h? Many apps do better than yours already by the way, I just use it because I like the interface. Keep going like this and you'll become obsolete..WillBahovVersion: 15.9

InsidiousI paid for Premium already. Then they introduced “Premium+”, and in their latest move to try to de-Premium my experience, they’ve pushed the extended hourly forecast feature up to Premium+. If you offer a feature set at a certain Premium price, and then subsequently you want to generate additional revenue, then either build new features into the next tier to try to persuade existing Premium users to upgrade, or simply attract *new* users. Don’t start *taking away* features that existing users already paid for. That’s dirty pool..AS9357Version: 15.9
