Easy to make, tricky to studyThis app’s interaction with Google sheets makes it incredibly easy to make a deck of cards. Frankly, my only critique is that there is no shuffle setting within the quiz mode. To me, this is the fundamental study advantage of making flashcards at all, and it’s surprising that it’s not a feature here. I really hope that the developer includes a shuffle option in an update! Nearly perfectThis is without a doubt the best flash card app u could dream off. And so I'll make one criticism in the hope that this awesome developer will implement it. The easiest way to make cards is to simply capture photos from pdf viewers/editors/annotators of class slides/texts etc. A very effective card can be made by simple image capture of class powerpoint slide (side 2) and a corresponding image capture of this slide that has been annotated/edited to hide the pertinent information (side 1). This is quick and easy and effective. HOWEVER.. doing this through the app is NOT STREAMLINED. One should be able to go right back to the same spot in photos to grab the next photo for side 2. Just make it so u go straight back to the last slide u added instead of having to go all the way back through the photo album for gods sake!! ;) Sorry to crack out. Hands down best Flashcards app for long-term learningThis app is amazingly easy to use yet as very detailed and in-depth functions for those who want to use them. Similar to Anki but way easier to import. I also like how easy it is to add sounds or pictures to cards already made. It’s also better for long term memory retention than Quizlet because it has a very intelligent spaced repetition learning system. My only suggestion is that they would update the website and make a public library of Flashcards available similar to Quizlet. As well as allow one to use the program online in a browser. Other than that it is hands down the best- better than Anki better than Quizlet by far for long term learning, ease of use, ans powerful customization..LoseyourlifeVersion: 4.34.4

Almost PerfectIt would be perfect if it were possible to import within the app sound files into your flashcards. It is possible to import sound files, but it requires too many steps (and use of the internet) to be convenient and efficient. I really hope that some day the developer adds such importing functionality to the app. Apart from that quibble, I must say that Flashcards Deluxe is peerless. The ability to make flashcards with multiple ‘sides’ creates the opportunity to add to your flashcards much additional information (pictures, TTS, recordings, etc.) that helps to reinforce whatever you’re learning. EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for!Flashcards Deluxe lets you get started right away. Run the tutorial and you’re ready to go. But dig a little deeper, and it has everything you’ll ever need from a flash card app. Spaced repetition is the way to go, and FD takes care of all the flashcard management chores, so you can focus on your goal: Learning! I'm using it to learn Russian, and the online upload feature allowed me to load an Excel spreadsheet of 10,000 Russian words, definitions, and example sentences. Cyrillic script? No problem. Even better, my list is in order of frequency, and FD adds new cards to the deck in that order. I'm currently using it for straight memorization, but I can’t wait to get to a point where I can start using the third side of the card, which uses each word in a sentence. Great appBefore trying the free version of this app, I tried multiple flash card apps. What I liked about the free version of this app is that it didn’t require an account to simply try it and that it allowed access to the features that I wanted to use. Many other apps require unnecessary account setup for trial versions, or limit the trial functionality so much that it’s difficult to know if the app will work for you. After trying the free version, I purchased the full version and am really happy with it—it’s very easy to use and has the features and functionality that I’ve been looking for. Has features other flashcard apps don't have.Just started using this app. Some of the reasons I like it a lot: 1) has the ability to add pictures by drawing on each side. Makes it so much easier to add drawings to your flashcards (otherwise you need to open another app, draw something, save, then export to this app, etc.) 2) has the ability to have multiple sides on each card which is huge 3) has the ability to add notes to each card, to help you remember stuff 4) has the ability to draw your answers while reviewing or quizzing yourself on the flashcards; i'm a bit more of a visual learner, so sometimes I like to doodle to help myself understand things better or work through a problem. Also, the app won't save these drawings, so you don't have to erase once you're done; think of it like scratch paper alongside your flashcards. 5) can be exported to your pc via usb. Having a cloud and being able to export/import via google drive is good too, but if the app ever stops being supported, I know that I can always still backup and update via my cpu. Perfect for foreign language flashcardsFantastic app, simple but well organized, with great integration options. A smartphone is a perfect format for using flashcards. For each chapter or topic of my language studies, I make a 2-column Google Spreadsheet, with word or phrase I need to learn in the first column, and corresponding answer in English on the right. Then I download this in the app and make it into a flash card deck. I go forward through the deck, then from end to beginning, and so forth until I've mastered the material. And I have all this in my pocket, so if I'm waiting somewhere or am otherwise bored, I always have the option of drilling flashcards. Outstanding Flashcard App! ItThis is the best flashcard app I have ever used. It is completely flexible, customizable, and simply the easiest flashcard app to use. Using spreadsheets for your data sets is what sets it apart from some of the other proprietary flashcard learning systems out there. They do not have the flexibility that this app has. I can create my card sets extremely quickly and format them to exactly how I want them to look. Also, do you have countless ways to study the card sets. Does what other apps don’t - CustomizableI use this for my vocab flashcards for a language that isn’t terribly common and this app has been a lifesaver. If you aren’t very techy then this might not be the app for you, but this is a nearly perfect app for what it is trying to be. It has a TON of features and it can be a little overwhelming at first, but it’s really easy to make flashcards in the app or on the website and then port them over. The user interface could be more polished, but you really are rewarded for spending some time to figure it out. Old FaithfulI bought this app a few years ago for a specific learning purpose. With a little bit of research and tinkering, it performed perfectly for what I wanted. Got through that, whatever it was, and moved on - the app blended in with a bunch of other relatively unused items on my phone. …or, did it? Shortly thereafter, I found another use case and the ramp up time/effort was significantly less. Again, it worked perfectly. I find myself returning to this app time and time again because it just gets the job done. In honesty, I tend to forget my exact workflow between use cases, and it takes about 15 minutes to ramp up again when I return to it, but it’s 15 minutes well spent. I’ve used it to create decks with, literally, thousands of cards and it handles them supremely. Oh, the developer, Ernie, is very responsive also. So good I’m not sure you can just call it flashcards anymoreI have had this app for a very long time and it just keeps getting better. The smart study tools like Leitner and spaced repetition studying lift the app far above its competitors. I am not good at memorizing so I use it to learn my students’ names. I import their names through the online private deck option and the walk around and take their pictures in class. You would not believe the difference it makes to have the app keep track of which cards you remember and which you struggle with. Best flashcard appThis app has all of the features of physical flashcards and more! The biggest pluses for me are that you can draw the cards or type them, add pictures (and even annotate them), put the cards into different categories based on how well you know the material, randomize the order of the cards, repeat only the ones you got wrong, change which side of the card is shown first, and search for certain cards. This app has been integral to my studying since high school and replaced paper flashcards (which can be difficult to organize, keep track of, and search). Thanks for an amazing app!._ydVersion: 4.13

Fantastic Flash Card App!!I’ve been using this app for nearly a decade, initially in college for several classes, then for personal use for a variety of things. It’s always been a phenomenal study aid, and has some great customisation options depending on how you study best (i.e. cramming for a test in the short term or studying with SRS for long-term retention). I recently ran into an issue with adding spoken Japanese sounds where text formatting caused the mp3 files not to ‘attach’ properly, and was able to find a solution with very prompt and thorough assistance from the developer. Terrific Lost Language supportI looked and looked to find an app that did not take ownership of the data or control it in any way. This app is terrific on that count. It is robust, it has many features that the other apps don't. I love the ability to study or take a quiz. I love the various repeat options such as Leitner. I love that I can share my work with my sister and we can study together. It's wonderful. So grateful for this tool. An amazing appI spent hours searching for a flashcard app that 1. Gave me a reasonable amount of control over developing my own decks. 2. Gave me flexibility in how I was able to use the input to study 3. Provided for sound and pictures and 4. Did not gauge me with a high purchase price and/or monthly fees. I am here to tell you this provided all and more. It is one amazing app and well thought out. There was a several hour learning curve but the owner provides ample materials and information on the website. There are examples and a reasonable response time should you need to email. Highly recommendWas shopping around for an SRS capable flashcards app, wasn't quite sold on the popular Anki one at the current price. Downloaded the Lite version of this Deluxe one as well as a free light version of AnkiApp. Played around with both for a few days, couldn't even get the Anki one to import a spreadsheet file. 　Most Customizable Flashcard AppBetween the TTS (text-to-speech) feature and the use of basic html coding, this has been the greatest flashcard resource I have ever used. I started using this app in college. Now I still use it for polyglot studying, professional aid, and personal purposes. Very useful appI use this every day for my vocabulary. It’s ideal for what I want. I like the way there’s options for the rotation of words, and the way it brings in new words into the established vocab testing. The only request would be to make inputting new words on the phone easier… you have to go through a few screens to ‘edit’ the deck. This app is fantastic !I’m coming over to Flashcards Deluxe after years of heavily using Chegg, who utterly trashed their very good app and thoroughly abused their customers. I played around with some of the more popular flashcard apps but landed on Flashcards Deluxe. My main deck is for French vocabulary which runs to 1,944 cards at the moment and this app handles it perfectly, without breaking a sweat. I LOVE this app. Worth the few dollars.I’m a full-time language student learning my first language beyond English. I’m learning a tone-based SE Asian language that has its own script. Months ago I paid for the expensive Anki-app but HATED that I couldn’t study what I wanted when I wanted to. I used Anki (the free one) for a while, but after I made a few dozen decks, it kept crashing. I uninstalled and reinstalled it several times but it just kept crashing more and more frequently until it became unusable. This app lets me easily make cards and review them whenever I want however many times I want. It is extremely reliable and has not crashed even once. I learn 10 to 20 new words/grammar structures every day with it. And my language is progressing nicely. Bug destroyed 166 cards I just createdI generally love Flashcard Deluxe and have been using it for years. But yesterday the app just stripped/deleted the audio and images from 166 cards I created. There’s obviously a big bug here. I created the flashcards using the app running on my M1 MacBook Air. All was fine until I synced to the flashcard servers. AwesomeI have used many flashcard apps before but this one is the best. It has an incredible number of customizable features! It is obvious that there was a lot of thought and time put into the development of this app. I use it everyday for my foreign language learning. The text-to-audio feature is great for that. Best app for it’s priceI’ve been researching a flash card app for a while, and tried many. I don’t think you should be paying a subscription for something like this, especially when you don’t get all the functionality like this app has. I wanted to be able to submit pictures and use my IPad Pro pen for my own creations. This app supports all of that where it seems many of the more expensive apps don’t. There is a bit of of a learning curve, but support videos are provided to help. Syncing between devices (phone/ipad) happens no problem but you can also manually syn for immediate changes. Hands down best Flashcard App availableThis is by far the best Flashcard app, and I have tried pretty much all the top flashcard apps available. It is extremely customizable, so you can review your cards with different methods (spaces repetition being one method of many), and you can format the cards in many ways (with images, sounds, up to 5 sides/card, etc). The developer constantly updates the app, so since I started using this app, approx 5 years ago, it has been constantly improving. The support is amazing as well. Seems good, but lack of iCloud Sync is very frustratingSeems like a pretty solid flash card app, although in my case I just purchased it today. Currently I have no major complaints with this app except one; it requires a DropBox account to sync flash cards across devices, and apparently cannot use iCloud to sync at all. For the price, and considering that one key reason I was interested in this app was because, unlike many other flash card programs on iOS, it does not require an external account, this is a pretty disappointing blind spot in an app that otherwise seems to fully meet my needs. I do not use DropBox, nor do I want to, and it seems odd to require it when iCloud already provides that functionality natively in iOS. Kudos to the developer for most other aspects of the app so far, but please seriously consider adding iCloud sync as an option. Simply the best flashcard app!I like to learn new stuff, either because I need it for work, or simply for my own good. When I got my new iPod touch, I just HAD to get myself a flashcard application. But I am not the kind to just download whatever app there was: I searched and tried and compared just about every flashcard app available to find the very best one. I have been using this particular application for a while now, and quite extensively, too! In fact I use it many times per day, every day. Currently my main focus is on learning swedish and spanish, but it works for just about everything you want to burn in your memory :) The only thing that's missing for my own usage is a way to have the app automatically split large decks into manageable number of cards during initial learning. But I haven't found any app doing it to my satisfaction anyway, and this developer was very receptive to the idea. So all in all, this app is very complete, very easy to use, works flawlessly and if you ask my opinion, it's a real BARGAIN at that price. It's been worth a lot more to me!! Now my friends are surprised by how quickly I'm making progress on my swedish! The best of the best. A must have for those who love to learnThis is an incredible feature rich flash card application. I was easily able to build a picture flash card deck for my daughter study her geography and I loved building a custom audio flash deck with personal recordings to learn a second language. The export and full backup features are seamless with dropbox. You can export individual decks or multiple decks. The flexibility this application gives you to learn the material is awesome. You can auto-play like power point, choose to play the audio clips or not, manually browse the deck at your own pace, or go through it like a quiz and it will keep track of your score during each session + keep a running total (I love the shuffle deck feature and the category feature. You can categorize your cards into groups by topic and study one, some or all categories). If you want to update your cards on a bulk basis you have the convenience of using Microsoft Excel (check out youtube on how to easily work with Excel and the decks for this application). There's simply no better IOS Flash Card application that I've seen that even comes close to the features this one has. It is easily worth a $20 application for those seriously wanting to build their own self paced custom study material. $5 is a steal. The author allows you try the light version to see how it works so you absolutely can't go wrong on this. I quickly purchased the $5 full version and I have it loaded on both my i-phone and i-pad. Wonderful application for flaschardsThis is a great little application for learning languages (and any other subject where memorisation and drilling via flashcards is useful). Some of the wonderful and unique features of this application are: (i) You can automatically generate the audio for the flashcards you develop (Most major languages are currently supported). (ii) The application supports an 'autoplay' feature which automatically goes through the flashcards (without requiring any manual input). This is great if you want to learn your flashcards by simply listening to them (e.g., when going to the gym or for a way). Creating flashcards via Excel and/or a text editor is very simple, and upload via Dropbox is a snap. Also, using a UTF-8 encoded text file means that you can easily support special characters in other languages (Spanish, French, Greek, etc..). Professional gradeI use this app to store Irish fiddle tunes: front for name and back for info on the tune including a jpeg of the sheet music. I would love better PDF integration. Perfect Studying ToolThis is my first time commenting on an app. I really do recommend this app because it helps me memorizing facts and vocabs a lot faster. Faster than other flashcard apps. The spelling and multiple choice function really engage you when you are studying. Very often when you use other apps, you start to loss focus after 10 minutes. You are not really memorizing the words any more after 5 minutes. Massive learning curveI actually had to Google how to do the most basic function on this app, create Flashcards. This app is definitely not user-friendly, it’s nice that you can add pictures to Flashcards and not have to pay a monthly fee, this app seems like it’s the only one in the world which does that. I am literally just trying to enter text onto one side of a flash card, and a picture onto the next. I don’t know if this app is just lacking in that basic functionality, but that is just an impossible feat. When you first go to create a new card, a menu pops up with a tremendous amount of options, more than anyone really needs. It seems like on the first Side of the card is the only time when you can add something like pictures or sounds. The only way to access the backside of the same card is through a link from the first side, in the text menu box. Going to the backside of the card does not take you to the same menu, and from there you can only add text. I literally just wanted a flash card app that you could add pictures to.
