AMAZING …but…Seriously this app is incredible - almost endless possibilities to teach a wide variety of material in a wide variety of ways - in particular if you are willing to create your own boards. I have used very extensively homeschooling a child with special needs - and it has been an invaluable resource. My teen daughter creates her own boards to study spanish and science! We have dealt with many bugs over the years that have caused much frustration and the catalog of photos includes a ridiculous amount of provocatively dressed women so nearly all boards with women have to be reviewed and sometimes edited by me which is not only annoying - but just plain puzzling. Can’t imagine my life without Bitsboard - but there is room for improvement! I’d like to suggest some new voice choices - after years of use- it would be a nice change. Also, the fact that board edits can only be made while in the board creator “game” is a pain - the old way was much better!! I’d also like to suggest the addition of an auditory memory game that provides for a delay before displaying the image/word after it is spoken - and an option in settings to at least slightly alter the voice “speed’’ to allow for individuals with auditory processing challenges to hear sentences spoken at a slower pace..Not so wise?Version: 37.4.2

Great toolOverall, this is a great app for language learning. I use it nearly every day. I upgraded to Bitsboard Pro so that I can share boards with others and so that I can bulk edit. Well worth it. This is a very versatile tool, but there are a few bugs that, if fixed, could make this even better: In order to edit a board, I have to select my user, select "user settings," which takes me straight to my account, and then I have to hit the "back" button in order to select "boards" under settings. This is annoying to do every time. It feels like a have to ride past my bus stop every time, get off, and walk back. It would really help to be able to get to editing my boards more easily. It would really help to be able to import audio files from elsewhere instead of having to record them straight into the app. You can do that with pictures, just not with audio files, which is a real bummer. It would be really nice to have multiple fonts supported; specifically, it would help if IPA (phonetics) fonts were supported. Bitsboard makes my foreign language entries look weird and hard to read by converting those foreign characters to cursive while the other letters in the word are in comic sans or another common print font. All that said, it is an awesome tool for learning and reviewing things. The many different games for reviewing the same pieces of information is one of the best features of this app. Great job, developers! Keep up the good work!.JrvddVersion: 37.2.22

Powerful but not intuitiveI use this app to create exercises to help a friend with aphasia practice grammar and sentence construction. I appreciate how easy it is to put in my own content personalized for my friend, how flexible the app is in creating exercises, and how my friend can incorporate physical movement with re-acquiring sentence grammar. It allows my friend to practice, practice, and practice. However, although there is much information on using the program, I still find it not very intuitive to use and, even after a year, I still feel like I am often learning to use it by trial and error. I would appreciate it if the instructions were organized more by: "if you want to do x, then follow these steps" given from the various perspectives of the different roles users play (e.g., as creator of lessons, as teacher, as student in a class, as independent learner, etc.) But this might be the price of the flexibility of the app. It is really an incredible and powerful tool with many hidden applications, in my context at least, beneath the surface and I appreciate it greatly..Appuser2001Version: 33.0.1

Several Features I'd like to be addedI purchased the pro version of this app, and while I enjoy the features it offer, I really wish I could get some more flexibility in the Spelling Bee part of the app. I wish I could see how many words are in a board, and I wish I could require capitalization of words..JobrorayVersion: 37.2.1

Love Bitsboard and their Helfpul team!All four of my kids have loved and learned from Bitsboard for the past 8 years! It’s an App the whole family can use! We love Memory and our kids learned the World Flags, Cities, Animals, Vehicles, Spanish, YOU NAME IT, beginning around 18 months old! We love the 4-player feature so that “Mommy and Daddy” can play too! When I needed help with the app, Michael Reining was quick to respond to my needs! He was so helpful and made everything right again! Bitsboard is definitely our FAVORITE app we’ve ever downloaded. It’s great for all ages, babies-adults. It’s engaging and filled with endless education. We’ve been using the app since my first child was about 2 years old and she’s 9 now. Great app to build vocabulary and discrimination skills!Finally an app that we can share remotely AND be able to collect data! I’m a BCBA working with children with special needs. They love this app and actually prefer it to other programming. The settings allow to change sounds, the array, the pictures are a great quality and you can always add your own. The range of games allows for generalization and multiplayer functions. I highly recommend this as a way to support VB MAPP programming for LR, tact, echoics, etc. And to support any existing programming. GREAT educational and fun appI homeschool my son who has special needs, and there are SO many ways to use this app. There are countless boards and classes already set up, but if you want to create your own it easy to do. If your child has a communication device because their nonverbal, you can use this to help teach the icons for words. I also homeschool my daughter who is atypical and this is very helpful with some aspects of her homeschooling. This is one of the best educational apps I’ve found for children with special needs. Awesome and recommendedI first got bitsboard more than 2 years ago and it is still MY GO TO APP for everything educational. As a special educator and Autism Specialist I fully recommend and endorse the Bitsboard App. I had written a bad review recently, as bitsboard hadn’t been updated in over two years, however I found out that it is now under new developers and they are to thank for the updates that bitsboard now has. Versatility for perfect speech therapyI love this app. As a speech language pathologist, I can use this and WordVault to tackle all kinds of communication goals. Access to the user-created boards and various incentivizing games are what sets Bitsboard apart from other apps. I love that I can toggle the verbal feedback, written words and such on or off to give more cuing to some clients and reduce auditory and visual distractions for others. My only complaint is the relentless crashing but the app is useful enough that I keep working around it..Kj00iVersion: 33.1

Glitchy & inconsistentI use this app to work with mostly with my two year old as we practice alphabet recognition and other preschool concepts. It would be a 4-5 star rated app if it didn’t require a inconsistent login process that never seems to work seamlessly. When I can get it to login at all, it is after telling me that the password was incorrect. Other times it simply freezes and is unresponsive and therefore not portable which is majorly frustrating and disappointing. Love this apps potential, but…It’s glitchy. I don’t have to pro version, so maybe that’s why it does funny things. I would like to be able to put two pics on 1 slide. Is that possible? Moving pics around in the editor is very troublesome. The font is hard for my ESL learners to read. I can’t figure out how to change it. These things should be easy to do. Very confusing interface, but good for creating flashcardsI use this app to make flashcards for myself to study birds for upcoming international birding trips. It does that quite well, but it's often a mystery to get it into an editing mode. It also frequently asks to login into my apple account for no known reason. Fortunately, I learned that it doesn't need to be logged in. Just hit "cancel" on the login screen, wait for it to tell you "login failed", and then you can go about your business..WinkgVersion: 33.0.1

Create, assess, collectThe app lets me create instruction aligned to goals and assess children, collecting data through email which can be saved in their drive folders. This is amazingly helpful.
