LOVE THIS APP!! Improved my vocabulary so quickOk I would like to start off by saying that I used to have a really strong vocabulary for my age, until about 5 years ago when I started going downhill in my vocabulary. I've been using this app for a few days and I have improved DRASTICALLY. I ended up adding it to my home screen and it looks so cute and I even added it to my home screen. I love how you can save the words to learn them for later and how you can change the theme to fit your aesthetic. One thing I do NOT like about this app is that they have a review feature where you can play little games to review the words that the app has taught you, but it costs MONEY. I get that there's a free trial and that it doesn't cost that much, but it would be nice if they had even one game or way to review the words you've learned that was free. It would improve people's vocabulary so much quicker and better and the words would stick in your brain. Anyway, LOVE THIS APP. Please get it its so good!.Version: 6.15.2
Ads are extra annoyingThis app is serious about annoying you into making a purchase with their ads. Often and loud! If you’re using the free version, do not open this app if anyone is sleeping by you. Then they want $5/month. If you can afford that, great, but for anyone on an extremely limited budget– well, i guess they think a one time payment of $30/year bringing the cost down to $2.50/mth is the answer (it’s not). I would do $2.50/mnth if I could pay monthly, otherwise, there are free options or even simply reading books and using the tap: dictionary that comes with your phone or kindle in order to learn these words. I’ve only seen 5 words i haven’t read in books so far. That said, if you use the daily alerts, that’s almost good enough. That’s free. You get the definition of good words there, and if you need anymore information, like sentence examples, then you can google them. 3 stars because most free apps with ads aren’t this annoying. Sometimes all it takes is a single scroll and you get a long, noisy ad, which i think is plain rude to those of us who have more important things to spend $5/month on. End rant. Update: after talking all this smack here, i realized if you deny the $30/year it offers $15/year. I still had to decline, even though it said “last chance” (had it been tomorrow when i got paid, i would’ve done it), but still, the offer was there..Version: 5.42.2
Intrusive NotificationsReally is a lovely app all around. Used to use it quite frequently but lately, the notifications have gotten more and more frequent as of late, to the point that it's getting on my nerves. I'd originally set it to remind me just twice a day, once for a new word, and once for an old one that I'd saved but when I recently went into the app settings to check it out, I noticed the cheeky buggers (XD) had removed the setting for frequencies of notifications and instead put up this new category called Muted content, which purposely obfuscates the type of notifications you can opt out of. Instead of giving options to make it easier, you have to come up with the exact terms yourself. This new design is all too evident in trying to get people to simply come back to the app again and again through these notifications and I'm sure it's worked but it's made my experience considerably worse. I've gone ahead and switched off the notifications for the app entirely but this also means I may go on to completely forget to open the app. Oh well. Great app, bad notifications model/design. Having said all that, thank you for making this app, devs, it truly is wonderful at what it does..Version: 6.23.0
No consistencyThere is a lot a like about this app. I like that it has a widget for the Home Screen, I like that it is customizable. I like how much information it gives you. But I don’t like that there is no way to revisit or test on the words you’ve saved, other than going back and re-reading your own list. It prompts you to like and save words, but then when you go to test yourself, it will only test you on a set of random words that you may or may not have seen before on the app. It’s too many words all at once. I wish the acquisition of new vocabulary words was more structured. For example, there should be a set of words (you can choose the size: 5 words a week, 10, 20) that the app will show you on repeat, based on your vocabulary level, the games all have to do with those words, and from those words you can choose to save the ones you’d like to revisit or favorite the ones you enjoyed. Ones that you’ve saved or favorited might pop up in later weeks. Repetition and incorporation is how you learn new vocabulary words. Not just reading the definition once or guessing it in a game..Version: 6.22.0
LOVIN THIS APP!!A fellow pupil is my F block sports and entertainment marketing class recommended this to me and I couldn’t be happier. I CANT STOP SCROLLING!! I can’t describe my agonizing addiction to this app in words, only sounds in which my family is beginning to get concerned for my mental health. MY LOVE FOR THESE WORDS IS INDESCRIBABLY POWERFUL. I genuinely think I’d end it all if I didn’t get the chance to use this app again. I’ve sent hundreds of messages to all of my friends telling them to get the vocabulary app…I got blocked. I’ve lost so many friends and family on this fierce journey but it’s all worth it once I get that notification of a new word bright and early at 3:00 am. If I am being honest I haven’t been sleeping at all because the adrenaline rush of an anticipated word shoots throughout my body HAHAHAHAHAHAH😳 thousands of hours of my life wasted on this app. I miss my family. I miss my house. I’m living under a bridge mindlessly scrolling until I pass out and I can’t take it anymore. Beware of this app, it will change you…❌.Version: 4.14
Guys do not forget about the fact that Charlie is deadFCC gdd D convenient for the people of India and their families who have no idea what the internet means to their children in this world but the government has to do better to try to protect the children from this world and not just to protect the owners from the people that are being harmed by the law and not for everyone but we are not a nation of people that are suffering because of the law and we need to be protected from this law and order in this world because we have the right and we have to protect our kids in the best interest of the citizens and the owners in our lives we have the most and we are a democracy we can be the people in our lives to make them the best of the world and we are not a nation we have to be the best of the best of the best of the people in our hearts are not a bad people and I hope that is it was the best of everything that is what we have to do better than the better good..Version: 6.1.1
Way Beyond ExpectationsThis app makes it easy to learn new words. It has all sorts of additional helpful tools to do that, like a direct link to Google (though I do wish it was connected to Miriam-Webster because that dictionary offers comprehensive definition of the word, including its origins), so you can get a bigger definition. This is really important for me because I easily learn words if I know their origins. You can choose level of difficulty, which is perfect for me because I wanted advanced and other apps don’t have advanced. You can also add your own words. You can mark words as favorite so you can go over them again and again as a way to learn. The display is nice and clean — no clutter — so you can focus on the word. Anyway, I can go on and on about all I love about this app. This is what I’ve been looking for. I love learning words and this app has made me completely happy. Yes, happy..Version: 4.8
Overall a very good app, but there’s room for improvementI truly love this app, it has exceedingly expanded my knowledge in vocabulary and I look forward to learning a new word everyday! However, I would really appreciate if the app had a dictionary feature; something like a little search bar at the top of the screen where you could put in a description of the word your looking for, and it would spit out words with that meaning. For example, if you’d type “very passionately” into the search bar, it would show words like ardently, or vehement, which are two words that describe very ardently. And yes there’s google, but the trouble is that with google I never find such rare and beautiful words as the ones in this app. One other this is the price, $60 per year is rather expensive, a reasonable price that I’d be willing to pay, would be around $20 or $30 annually. If all this will become real, then this app will truly deserve that 5 star review!.Version: 6.30.0
Great tool to improve your vocabulary. In a world where you need to learn to choose your words wisely, it will be prudent to polish your vocabulary. I began to study a book on how to have good, productive conversation that people would want to hear what you have to say, I came across a section that taught how to polish your conversations by using the right words. The author advice to write words that one is not used to using. So I bagan to look for an app that would help me to learn in a simple practical manner. Since I spend most of the time on the phone communicating through texting I also got used to doing everything in it. Like reading and especially writing. So looking for apps I found this one and it has help me because it works like study cards. I memorize words that are commonly used by many people especially at the job, doing business in conversations except me. Awesome app..Version: 4.3
Amazing and feedbackHey, OK I save this app is amazing why because it has a lot of features for you to learn vocabulary and you can learn a lot of different stuff. It makes it a fun easy way to learn and also you can change the tone of the voice. It can read the vocabulary word to you so you don’t have to worry about having to search it up and find out what it says and also like I can change the app icon that was and also I really liked how you could change the background it made it really cool on creative now here’s some cons about this really this kind of makes me a little mad that’s why it’s only four stars not a full five and you’re probably still wondering why because there’s not enough like free stuff on there. You have to pay for a lot and that’s really hard for me I can’t really learn any vocabulary words or play games to learn the vocabulary words, so I would really really, really like if you can make more free options..Version: 6.9.0
IncorrectSome of these descriptions are not entirely accurate, and wouldnt actually make sense to use in the english language. For example Hiraeth is a welsh word and not pronounced according to the pronunciation guode at all. I understand a thesaurus, and that english borrows a lot of words from a lot of languages, but we dont use it with every buxom word from every language, and i don’t think it’s appropriatw to say a welsh word is pronlunced incorrectly and gives a description that can not accurately captyre the meabing of the word in a direct translation. Hiraeth means more than just a longing for a place that may have never existed or was lost long ago, it is a lot more than that. And i dont like the think what other words from other languages i might be instructed to use improperly. With the parasitic infectious war that is AI these days i worry that this is jot just an error but an error by the error and misinformation plague machine that is AI. If this app is using AI, and i mean in the colloquial sense, zero stars. With these mistakes its a 3.5..Version: 6.27.0
Some suggestionsI just recently started using this app, and I absolutely love it so far. I do have a few suggestions for how to make it even better, however. I hope you don’t mind users suggest features! I personally would love if there were examples for each vocabulary word that show us how we would use said word in a sentence. Showing the derivational affixes of the word, if there are any, would be a good idea as well—for example, prevaricate and prevarication. These features would really help those of us with dyslexia, and I would gladly sacrifice the aesthetic of an app that helps me learn. Maybe there can be an additional little button on the bottom row that expands on the word, if aesthetic is what you’re aiming for. Just please don’t make it an Ai chatbot, I would have to stop using the app if that was implemented..Version: 6.20.0
Great app; some sentence examples need improvmentI’m happy with this app. I’ve been using the free version (I think) for a long time now. I appreciate getting daily notifications of new words and being able to change the background of the app to one of their beautiful selection of pictures. I agree with some that the advanced words could be more advanced, but it’s nice to be reminded sometimes, and it helps me realize that while I know some advanced words, I’ve been adding a positive or negative connotation to them for years without realizing. My one and only complaint is the sentence examples. Many of them are clunky with unnecessary info. They should be clear and concise. Some sound as if they were written by a high schooler trying to sound smart. We don’t need a short story. Also, some sentence examples have a bit of gender stereotyping to them, going both ways. I’d love concise and objective sentences. Thanks!.Version: 5.39.1
PhenomenalAbsolutely love this vocabulary app! It’s hands down one of the best I’ve used for expanding my word knowledge. The design is sleek, user-friendly, and the daily reminders help me stay consistent with my learning. I’ve already noticed an improvement in my vocabulary, and the overall experience has been really engaging. The feature I’m most excited about is the practice tests, which I look forward to doing once I’m able to upgrade to the premium version. I got hooked with the 3 day free trial! It’s a bit out of my budget right now, but when I’m able to access it, I’m confident it will be an even more valuable tool. Thank you for creating such a fantastic app—it’s genuinely helping me grow, and I can’t wait to make the most of all the features when I can. Grateful for this app and highly recommend it!.Version: 5.92.1
Great App! But with some room for improvementI got the subscription and think it’s worth it! I like how you can customize the background and font depending on the user’s mood and personality. However, my only grievance here is that I mainly use it to broaden my Spanish words, but the pronunciation doesn’t sound native, and if anything sounds more like Spanish words spoken with an American English accent. Think “taco” pronounced as “taecoe”. I think it is a valid cause for aversion. Because if the app were to offer foreign (non-English in this situation) language then it should also be accompanied with the accurate pronunciation. Maybe I’m just being picky but if you imagine a native speaker looking up words in their native language and seeing how it’s being represented, you’ll understand how the person might feel..Version: 4.59.1
Thumbs downI’ve had this app for a long time, but I really dislike the fact that they’ve apparently removed the “thumbs down” option. I like building my own word lists and use the “heart” far more often, but there are words (we all have them) that are grating and that I would add to a list that I’d personally avoid using, just for fun. Once in awhile, too, a sentence example will pop up that’s a little dated (I wouldn’t go so far as to say “offensive”, but maybe a little “insensitive”)—those, too, would end up getting a thumbs down. It was all in good fun and was an easy way to differentiate words while building vocabulary. Now, only a heart is available. Puppies and sunshine and unicorns for all! It’s silly. I’m far from “get off my lawn; the way things used to be” guy, but come on: are we really so collectively delicate now that we can no longer handle even the mildest rebuke imaginable: a virtual dislike button?.Version: 4.48
Best vocab appThis app has genuinely elevated my vocabulary and sharpened my writing skills. Each word is presented with a clear definition and precise pronunciation, making it incredibly easy to absorb and retain new terms. The interface is intuitive, and the consistency of exposure has helped me expand my lexicon in a way that feels both natural and effective. Since using this app, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the coherence and articulation of my writing. It’s not just about memorizing words—it’s about understanding how to use them with precision and fluency. The app creates a seamless learning experience that is both engaging and intellectually stimulating. If you’re looking to refine your communication skills and build a more sophisticated vocabulary, this app is an invaluable tool. Highly recommend!.Version: 6.34.1
A Great Learning App, But…I love this app, but it does have a few issues, from my perspective. More often than I would expect, the pronunciation of some words is simply incorrect. If it’s an AI male voice that I’m hearing, well, he makes mistakes pronouncing some words. For example, today I noticed that the word MORES is pronounced on the app as a one-syllable word, but it’s actually pronounced as a two-syllable word. This is just one example of many. Also, the same words keep popping up over and over. Why am I seeing the same word more than one time, particularly if I have already saved it? And why am I seeing / being bombarded with so many new words throughout the day, every day? It’s all a bit obtrusive and invasive. I can’t possibly keep up with and remember all the new words I am seeing throughout the day. Back off a little! Thank you..Version: 5.109.0
Vocabulary, how it’s became a big part of my lifeThis app has became a huge part of my life, I have an autistic son who struggles with spelling and learning new words. Though, with this app he has excelled amazingly at learning new words and is enjoying learning them too. Another way this has became a part of my life is in college. I have became an academic scholar all because of this app. I have gotten a diploma in English. I now am looking for a job to help educate special needs children in learning new words and the meaning of them in a fun, but also educative way. I am still using this app every week to learn new words I have had no idea about. These words I’ve learned have helped me with my communication with other people. I have a had lots more happening in my social life because I have been able to commune with other people that know many words as well as me and have been able to explain and talk about ways we can learn and grow our vocabulary. In conclusion, this app has became a huge part of my life and has helped me learn, grow, and make friends during the time I’ve had this. This is really one of the best learning apps there could be! 10/10.Version: 6.19.0
Very useful app for learning vocabularyI really like this app because it helps me learn new words in another language. It has a practical design and is very useful for expanding vocabulary. However, I would like it if in the future they included a feature to also see the English translation directly within the app. Currently, I have to copy the words and switch to another application to translate them into English, which makes the process slower and less convenient. It would be great if they added an icon (for example, a “?” or a translation button) that, when tapped, instantly shows the word in English and its meaning. This would be very helpful for those of us who are learning English as a second language..Version: 6.15.2
Absolutely Amazing AppThis app has completely grown my brain.I was falling back in my vocabulary grades and my parents started to notice,I didn’t want to fail them so I was looking at apps to improve my vocabulary because that’s were I needed the most improvement. I tried all sorts of apps but this is the only one that works for me ,I absolutely love the fact that I can study words that apply to my learning and the time that I receive them , not forgetting that I can also listen to the words because they are a little lengthy. My vocabulary grades went from the 70s to the 90s and I am so happy to make my family proud again .I would definitely recommend this app to anyone struggling in any area of school work. Thank you to the creators for making such a wonderful and helpful app..Version: 3.2
App is great, examples are oddly sexist?Ok I actually showed this to several people wondering if I was sensitive and we’re all in agreement. Everyday, when it provides me a word, the sample sentence is very oddly sexist - like the word “carp” being used to describe an annoying nagging wife when there are so many other uses of the word carp. If it happens once or twice, it’s unnoticeable, but when every single day the example sentence is something oddly and subtly sexist, it feels like it’s a literal design choice. Aren’t you as a company considering what sentences your including for these, and some of the insinuations that might come alongside? It’s become a sort of game in my social circle, where we all vote if the sentence is sexist, and almost everytime we all agree it is. An example from this week that felt like a tired misogynistic cliche - CYCLOTHYMIC (ADJ.) HAVING MOOD SWINGS BETWEEN HAPPY AND SAD. (“HER CYCLOTHYMIC NATURE KEPT US GUESSING.”).Version: 5.61.1
LoveOK, I love this app so much and it is way better than any other vocab app I have ever tried. The actual layout of the app is very easy to navigate and beautifully set up. I really appreciate the option to bookmark certain words and the speak out loud function which has helped me learn to pronounce words much better. This app offers so many different words of various topics and reading levels. I feel like I’m learning a new word every day and the words are actually relevant and can be used in daily conversation. This is one of the only apps that I have my notifications on for because I love seeing a new word pop up and clicking on it to be brought to the page easily to learn more. Thank you !!.Version: 5.76.1
Would Recommend if You’re a Knowledge Hungry Gryffin-Claw (Griffindor and Ravenclaw)Honestly I’m sure any type of person would enjoy this app. Kids, teens, and adults alike (It lets you pick your level of vocabulary to improve your experience). And it actually (mostly) gives words that you (again mostly) don’t know. But I would say it’s a bit annoying that it continues to ask me to get premium. Which is dumb because it’s really not worth your money. Which is why it’s stupid that someone would keep these features from you. What is even the point of preventing people from having the best experience with this app and improving their lives (at least al little) when know one’s gon’ waist their money in it anyways. It’s POINTLESS!!! Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy this app as I have..Version: 4.0.3
College StudentIm currently a student and I only work 24 hours a week so I can do both (school & work). I need every penny I can get. If there was an option to pay 5$ month to month (equivalent to 60$/year) I'd do that. I like knowing that if need be, I could skip a month or pause my subscription when that 5$ is going to make or break me, and this day and age it happens more often than not for me. Other than that over all it’s a great app. I wouldn’t use a lot of the options that it offers but what I love most is the levels (I’m a beginner still at 35yrs old, it’s never to late to go back to school) the words are within my scope of learning. It has the definition, examples, synonyms, and the pronunciation. (And you get to pick the voice haha) Anyway… Great app. To expensive..Version: 6.23.0
Vocabulary AppIs one the most fascinating app I have ever seen, allowing you to change the theme and the icon of the app as you like. Not to mention the notifications and the reminders that you can edit them, there is many categories including society, human body, business, etc., enhancing your overall bank of words. In addition, the way you can move from one word to another is amazing as well as listening to them, but I wish could listen to the examples of the words. What I mean is that you can listen to the word’s pronunciation, but not the example beneath it. That is the only thing I do not like; however, overall the app is spectacular and well designed..Version: 5.76.1
My AdviceHello!! I think this app is a really cool opportunity to see new words that i definetly wouldn’t see otherwise. Apart from that I had only 2 issues with it that I think the creators could and should def add to their app to make it 5 Stars. 1. Being I wasn’t able to make the premium by month plan. It only told me how much that would be per month but wanted me to pay the full year. I could still use the app without the plan but I definitely would’ve kept the premium if I could do it per month. 2. Being there is no repetition of the new words you will learn. I feel like maybe the creators could make it to wear we learn how ever many words we want a day and those words continue within that week. I’ll be honest idk if i really remember most of the words I saw. That’s all tho otherwise the app is pretty cool.Version: 6.37.0
Price is ridiculousThis is a nice app with a cool widget for the Home Screen. All the best word lists and interesting features require a subscription. I hate subscriptions, but this one is overly ambitious on the dev’s part. I’m on permanent disability and rely on government assistance. I have to carefully choose which subscriptions I can afford. I have a couple of streaming services because that’s a lot of content for the monthly fee. Getting reminders about words I am learning, and being quizzed when I choose to, is a nice luxury but definitely a worth the monthly/yearly expense. This is the type of app that should have a one time fee and then maybe some IAPs for specialized word lists and other advanced features. This app thinks it’s the same value as a National Geographic subscription, which is delusional. Would use it if it were not so pricey!!.Version: 6.32.0
Missing key featureThis app is great overall. It’s helping me scout new words I want to learn and filtering what words I see. The only thing I would say I REALLY wish this app had was a way to practice a collection of specific words. I have a bunch of words saved in a saved folder collection I want to practice specifically, but the only way to practice them is to use the regular practice options and pray I see them. It usually gives me around 2 from my saved folders at a time and doesn’t shuffle them well. If I wanted those other random words filtered into the practice I would have saved them or favorited them so I don’t see why it would do that. I’m even okay with a few of those random words in practice modes it’s just always an overwhelming amount and rarely the ones I actually want to practice..Version: 6.30.0
Super App—Missing a Few FeaturesOf all the vocabulary apps in the AppStore, this one is the best. However, there are some areas for improvement. First, while in the app, it’s not possible to select text for copying. For anyone who wants to easily investigate a word further, this is an essential feature. For example, it would be helpful to be able to select a word, copy it, and paste it in another app to explore etymology (using the share function after selection would also be nice.) Second, the existing share options need to be disabled. For those of us who do not use social media, it would be great to eliminate those share options (maybe add a “copy word” button here?) Other than these issues, this app really is fantastic. The ability to create and customize widgets is a big win..Version: 5.21.2
Great idea, but not fleshed out for Quality of LifeThis app is good so far and the idea of it is quite good! This app could use some updates on quality of life and usefulness. Pros: 1. A really great idea to help expand vocabulary -It’s nice to scroll through list of words to see what you don’t know and to learn them -Getting notifications about words you may or may not know 2. The International Phonetic Alphabet is used for pronunciation 3. Lots of themes! Cons: 1. Getting sent words that are not for an advanced level, such as “acute,” “husband,” “ethereal,” etc. 2. No dictionary reference to easily see synonyms, antonyms, etc. or to search words 3. Hidden menu under the share button to add to certain lists, etc. 4. Having a favorite button and a dislike button are a little confusing 5. Could expand on themes more, like having a color picker for background and fonts and being able to choose from a list of fonts 6. Words are locked behind premium In conclusion, this app has a bit of ways to go, but is heading in a great direction; the developer responses are on almost all of the reviews and we’re seeing updates that are reflective of those reviews..Version: 5.3.1
Better than I thought! 😃I was pleasantly surprised by how effective this app is! When I initially downloaded this app I had my doubts, but I quickly found myself proven wrong. As an aspiring novelist eager to improve my writing, I needed a tool that could truly enhance my vocabulary. This app operates seamlessly, presenting each word with a polished but easy-to-understand definition; even with a sentence example:) “Vocabulary” also includes a few aesthetic icons and backgrounds to choose from 👍🏼. My only suggestion would be to include multiple definitions for each word to offer more comprehensive insights. Nonetheless, I completely recommend this app for anyone looking to expand their vocabulary!.Version: 5.55.0
BrilliantThis app just keeps getting better. They are always sending me new words to learn in my notifications. You can add it as a widget within your home screen and the lock screen as well. I love that so much! Today I opened the app to look more into how a word was used and a pop up showing me a how to for adding a word to the app from an external source was brought to my attention. I thought the app couldn't get any better, but that just did it for me. Mind you, I haven't paid a penny - so this is all free. This is probably the best free app I've ever downloaded, by far. Thank you Vocabulary :) This is not a paid review either, for anyone wondering. 😂.Version: 5.33.0
I’m conflicted…It’s an amazing app, I’ll start there. It’s got a great design and a team behind it that cares. My only complaint is that the only things not paywalled are the words themselves and the questions you get asked after downloading. I feel like for the prices, at the very least, practice should be free. I really want to love this app, as a writer I always want to expand my vocabulary and improve my work. But if you want to do anything more than scroll through words, you really HAVE to pay for the subscriptions. I understand things like this take time, effort, and especially money. But writing and reading is free. Creativity is free. I feel like for an app like this, you should just pay to download it and keep the rest free..Version: 6.31.0
EhhhLet me start out by saying this is not meant to sound pretentious in the slightest, although it may seem that way. Opening the app I chose the most advanced vocabulary it would let me, as I am an avid reader and user of large vocabulary words. I’ve gotten some good ones, I’d say about 1/3 of the words I have never heard before. However, that leaves 2/3 of the words that I feel are pretty common and not in the slightest bit “advanced” such as “counteract”, “demure”, “deft”, “despondent”, and “acute” to name a few. That being said, I have gotten some nice words to add to my vocabulary from this app. Their definition of “advanced” is very subjective. Maybe at the beginning they could institute a vocabulary test that would more accurately gauge a users vocabulary..Version: 4.57
Great vocabulary, overpriced subscriptionI love the vocabulary given to me, I love the variety of meanings and origins and all that. My main problem is that I feel like their subscription is too expensive. But you can barely do anything with the free version. You can’t review, you can’t delve into vocab that pertains to your interests, you can’t learn words in other languages. You can’t even view the details about the origin/parts of the word? I don’t really love that. Also sometimes the definition given is wrong… this has only happened with one word so far but it was completely wrong and it was annoying that I couldn’t give feedback on the definition. I also would like a feature that lets me mark down if I already know a word so I don’t have to see it again..Version: 6.25.0
Try it out.I’ve had this app for a couple weeks now and it does introduce a variety of new words for you to learn. Ultimately it’s up to the individual to really intake the definitions they give you and to then integrate the words into your vocabulary. I do find myself wanting to upgrade to a better version, but honestly, the basic version does what it needs to. I just write down the definitions on paper for practice instead of using the pro functions, I think it’s better since I’m on my phone less anyway. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone who just wants a gentle nudge into learning more words!.Version: 6.23.0
Love the concept but not necessarily correct?I love learning new words so when I found this app I imminently downloaded it. I like how I can put it on my lock screen so I just see it, the idea knowing I’m learning new words both consciously and subconsciously makes me excited to widen my vocabulary, but my one concern is the definitions and how it’s not always exact, or leaves out crucial information on the word and how it’s usually used. For instance “catechize” being described as “to teach by asking questions” but it never said anything about the possible religious aspect behind using it. It’s a great app, but I wish it had more transparency and accuracy on that regard, and just the way they word the definitions in general. Maybe it does in the paid version, but I haven’t subscribed to it..Version: 6.21.0
Amazing!I LOVE this app, probably the best word for it is beautiful. The backgrounds are wonderful l, and it is very calming. Each day when I open the app I am enraptured with the new words. I don’t really like how you have to pay to learn other vocab words. The point of the app is to give the world an easy way to access the wonders of words? Well you have only made it harder by making us pay for it. Also with the new update we can now not make our own background. PLEASE STOP just get rid of the ridiculously priced “+” version and let us enjoy your wonderfully make app without having to pay 40 dollars a year. Other than the “+” version situation, I truly adore this app and have found it very peaceful. Thank you!.Version: 5.91.1
VocabularyKeeps getting stuck on the same word. Preview shows different words, but when I click on it, it doesn’t appear - only the words don’t change on the full screen! This time it is stuck on “philistine”..Version: 5.29.0
Very good appIt would be helpful if the app had an example of the word used in a sentence. Otherwise, it’s pretty useful. I look at it everyday and try to use the word at least once in my day..Version: 2.7
3 day free trial and then pay to accessThe words are great but I downloaded because the top review said it was free and it’s not anymore.Version: 3.83
Loquacious readers & writers bewareI really love this app, the layout is great, widgets, pronunciation guides are helpful, and the reminders I really do love. However, if you are an extensive reader, or an advanced writer, the dictionary is quite limited. Too many times I find myself searching for words to add only to discover they don’t exist in this app—and yes they are real words found on legitimate dictionaries. I will continue to utilize my subscription, however, if more advanced words aren’t added, I may search for an alternative when my sub expires. Hopefully the creators find away to expand their dictionaries or find a speedier solution for importing new words they lack..Version: 5.38.1
Nicely developedI like the simple, easy to use format. There are numerous unique words in the app - each with an informative, yet simple definition. I also enjoy the random word notifications (except, I can never memorize the words on a tight schedule when I only glance at the notification once.) I honestly thought I would use this app often, but the majority of it is not free and the aspects of it that are free do not really teach about grammar and parts of speech (which I was hoping to get from this app.) Overall, it is a very nice app - probably the best vocabulary app I’ve ever had - but it could be even better if there were more free options and tools for memorizing. Thank you!.Version: 3.2
Get rid of the subscription, make it a one time paymentGreat app, I’ll buy it if you make it a one time payment. With enough sales it’d be more than enough to pay the developer fees and keep it updated to not break..Version: 6.6.0
Good appEnjoyable.Version: 6.39.0
I loveFun!!!.Version: 6.38.1
Great but not paying for itSucks that it’s paid app, otherwise I’d keep it. It doesn’t do enough to justify spending any amount on..Version: 6.37.0
Worth it!!Very good app, it really helps in keeping you up to date with modern vocab. Must try if you are a Vocab fan!.Version: 6.36.0
Very coolKind of ambitous subscription cost but I am enjoying the content given on free subscription so far. I’m still just started up the app, learned only a few words by now..Version: 6.37.0
Amazing appDear app builder, i truly appreciate yoir all hard work to build that app which is truly gelping people to learn and grow. Hope i could get the full accessibility without paying amy money. but so far whatever you all are sharing throu that apps it such a great thing for everyone.Version: 6.36.0
Free up some things in this app. It’s a good app but it’s sucks that all the practice games and categories are locks behind a paywall. It would be better if even some of the games we’re free..Version: 6.36.0
Good appI don’t like how I can’t see a word I read earlier that day. It just disappears..Version: 6.35.0
