Disappointed with new update!I’ve had Klarna for almost 2 years now, I started using when I moved out of my parents home sick with was starting from scratch. This app definitely helped buying some necessary stuff for my new place in instalments, but recently this dumb update just ruined everything they had going on for this once amazing app. One day I had almost $400 in purchase power until I didn’t, I had stopped using it for a bit as I hadn’t made any expensive purchases until recently I decided to make a purchase at Walmart and Sam’s for an approximate of $145, my purchase power went down to $200 out of nowhere. When I tried buying something for $25 it said I wasn’t approved and that I should try with a different cards. I tried all my cards but to no avail. Right now I paid off early my debt for Walmart, I have a purchase power of $269 and the only thing I owe is $10 for Sam’s and it’s not due until August 12. I tried buying a video game and I get the same annoying message saying I’m not approved and to try a different card!? What is the point of paying early and having such a high purchase power if this app is just not going to let you purchase anything!!!! It’s ridiculous!!!!
*****Update***** I just made my last payment early and don’t owe anything. I tried buying a video game again and I’m getting declined! Honestly it’s such a shame and I’m extremely disappointed in how this app is being handled. Tricked by their employeesI use to love Klarna but once I finish paying off my items. I’m taking my business elsewhere. After finally getting approved to having a Klarna Card, the physical card was lost. I have been looking everywhere to call someone to get a replacement card. I finally got in contact with their customer representatives who told me to close the card and reapply. I really didn’t want to do that because for some strange reason Klarna takes forever and a day to approve your Klarna Card Application. So I had to bite the bullet and close it as advised by their employees. Now I’ve been waiting for months to be approved and I’m still on that annoying waitlist but to my surprise there is an option for a replacement card!!! So why was i advised to shut my account down if all you had to do was give me a replacement card WHICH IS WHAT I NEEDED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!!!! I go on to speak to their representative today and was told that was wrong and there is nothing they can do I have to remain in the waitlist until I get approved. This is bogus. I love how Klarna gives the multiple options to buy now and pay things laters in installments but to be wrongly advised to close a perfectly good account is so messed up.

Over and over again and even when I read them the policy you have on your website about getting a replacement card he still telling me that I have to reapply. Most retailers don’t accept this app! Beware!So I was trying to purchase online groceries (I didn’t have enough money at the time) and I thought that this app would help. Now they ask that you connect your bank account information to collect install payments. OK no problem I submitted the information and quickly went online to start shopping for groceries. So the first website I went to was for Publix now the way how Klarna works is that they give you a virtual gift card (ghost card)to use as full payment for whatever you want to purchase and then you pay them back in biweekly installments. I filled up my cart with about 20 items and Publix went to check out with the gift card that Klarna gave me and it was declined! So I notified Klarna and let them know that it was declined so they let me know that I would have to get a new gift card because once the first one is declined it won’t work again, to make an extremely long story short I ended up making about 6 to 7 cards each time I attempted to process a payment with these cards they charged my bank account about $20 each time wiping out my bank account and all these different retailers are not excepting Klarna as a payment option, now I have to wait 7 to 10 business days to get my money back and never even received anything!.CdegraVersion: 19.22.1
Was good, then went bad.I started off loving it. Was pretty easy to use, and even had a decent “purchase power”. Around 400$ish. Let’s you use it for all kinds of stuff online and even an option to pay in 6 months. Where it went bad. Was one day I was browsing the store an noticed my purchase power dropped all the way to 78$. I was pretty taken back considering I was sure I paid every single payment ether on time of before. Which at this point I’ve been using them for months. I even got my purchase power up to 980$! Which to me was a pretty good accomplishment. I checked and reached to make sure everything was paid, even had the “your doing great” icon. So I reached out to customer service which took forever. They said “our algorithm is based on several factors and even a dog credit pull and it’s probably just a glitch”. I was oh ok I’ll give it a couple days an see. Mind you when I first got Klarna my credit was around 610 It’s now at 685. Sadly it’s been 3 weeks and my purchase power is still 72$. I reached back out to customer service and told them I even had screech shots of my begging purchase power and my credit score then an now. But to no avail. My thoughts about the app is that it works pretty good but it’s a pretty shady thing they do an honestly you shouldn’t waste your time on it.
Developer response stated that nothing that I done cause this changed. But they want to practice responsible lending. So I guess that means lowering it 900$ is part of that. My opinion of it hasn’t changed one bit..Dustin000Version: 22.25.218
Bitter sweet but overall I really like that appI say bitter sweet because when I first started using Klarna a little over two years ago I started with my spending power being $3500 which allowed me to either pay in 4 which is where they add the total up and split the payments into four installments making a payment every two weeks until the total is paid off or if my purchase was eligible for financing I could pay that order off in six months or 12 months and sometimes without interest… When I first started using the app I used it quite frequently I bought a brand new bed, sneakers, gold bracelets etc. Then I stop using the app for probably about a year. I came back and I seen that my spending power had dropped significantly, down to $1000 and I know I’m familiar that they say that Credit could affect the spending power, paying your orders off on time etc. The thing is my orders we’re always paid on time, was never late, and my credit score didn’t go down if anything it went up so I’m just not too happy about that situation that they drop my spending limit. Other than thatI have no other complaints I just heard as well from other users that they’re spending limit goes up down all the time I just feel if you show credibility your payments are made on time and you pay off your purchasesAnd of course I know that Credit is a factor I just don’t feel like your credit power should changeIn my case I believe it was because I haven’t use the app in over a year but if my credit has gotten better or stayed the same and my past purchases were paid on time I really don’t find that right that they decrease my spending limit.Tahh424Version: 22.4.180
Great Option for Rebuilding CreditThe first time I used Klarna I was a bit hesitant because I was unsure how legit the company was, but after some research, I started with a small purchase amount and it was very simple process to do for checking out,and as you continue making automatic payments on time your purchase lending amount goes up, needless to say, after 1 year of using this site my credit score has gone up quite a bit, and so has my purchasing power, not to mention that by making my payments on time and you also have the option to pay off your total early, but you don’t have too, I have been able to get purchasing credit thru similar sites such as Affirm and Autopay, I even was able to get a rebuilding credit card, due to my zillion dollar debt in medical bills I’ve struggled with my credit, but this site has helped SO MUCH with letting me rebuild my credit score and have an option to make larger purchases and pay them off a little at a time, they also have the option upon maintaining good payments to postpone one payment, you can not use this option all the time, but it’s useful if you need it :) So I highly recommend giving them a try, start with a small purchase to see if it works for your budget :) happy shopping :).Regets66Version: 25.14.314
Spending Power Not AvailableI was with Klarna a couple of years ago and before my daughter got sick I was doing very good making payments and paying things off. When she got sick I ended up losing my job and had to stay home to take care of her. I had a few open orders that I financially couldn’t pay but about a month ago I called and spoke to a representative with Klarna, because I wanted to pay those balances off that I owed…which I have paid then off. I was told that once I pay them off and the debt collection agency that was collecting the debt is aware that I paid them off, once it was cleared in the system both from True Accord and Klarna that my purchase power would be available again. I just spoke to a representative this morning and he said well if you’ll call TransUnion and have them update your credit score with us then we’ll be able to give you a purchase power. I said that I have already spoken with them and they said my credit score was updated already. So I’m not happy with what each representative has told me because I shouldn’t have to call TransUnion to do their job of getting that information. Why does my credit score matter? My husband went through the same thing with Klarna but that representative was more thorough with him and did screen sharing with him, to make sure everything was updated and that he added a checking account as well.. once he did that and uninstalled the app and reinstalled it his purchase power was reinstated. Rewards & Minimum Amount of PurchasesI’ve been using Klarna for years and only god knows how many times I done used Klarna for past purchases! Used it countless things & countless times. Bills, clothes, grocery shopping, plane tickets, shoes, anything you can probably think of I did it! Klarna was in my Top 5 most used apps! However, recently things changed. I had rewards lined up and finally chose one that was expiring. I chose the reward to be a $5 Nike reward. Coming to find out, the reward isn’t a gift card anymore & I have to spend at least $20 for my order to use my reward. In the past, I could just my $5 reward anytime without extra stipulation.
The minimum purchases I noticed changed too lately. It was previously at least $10 but now it’s $35+. I recently found out by wanting to get some slip resistant shoes from Walmart. I was completing the transaction creating my One Time card and then I seen the $35+ minimum purchase warning. I was shockingly disappointed/upset. I can’t even tell you how many transactions I overall had that was overall below $35. To be honest, I sometimes I would have the money for the full total but I would choose to use Klarna just because. Waste of timeThis would be a cool app if it would actually work. When it does work, it’s awesome, I’m able to make larger purchases and either pay every two weeks or spread the payments out over 6 months. Here’s the issue, the app will work seamlessly then out of nowhere it won’t. I will attempt to make a purchase and initially I’m told I’m approved, I agree to the terms and go to the next step where my ghost card should be created but then it isn’t. I get this weird message telling me that my identity cannot be verified, so I answer the security questions, receive confirmation that my identity has been verified just for the system to do it again and ultimately deny my purchase. This only happens with the 6 monthly payment option. Then for some reason, a lot of merchants have stopped accepting Klarna ghost cards. Two merchants in a row declined my purchase because I was attempting to make the purchase via Klarna, super weird. I would love for their app and system to be updated to prevent these types of scenarios from happening going forward. I understand that they cannot intervene and make companies accept their payment, but the issues with ghost card inconsistently working is ridiculous. I have Afterpay and have never had any issues. Has been good in the past, but lately not.Just as many others have stated, their experiences and mine were ok in the past but lately, even though my purchase power has increased and my credit score Etc., I am not being approved even for the smallest purchases and their customer service can never give you a solid reason. It can be frustrating and time confusing to shop and make a list, then get declined and not get a reason why. Customer service will always say it's system generated and they cannot give a specific reason and there's nothing they can do. I may as well use Affirm or Quadpay because Last month and now this month, I'm simply wasting my time with Klarna and I'm not getting a reason why. My account limit has increased significantly, but I can never get approved even with the smallest, minimum purchase. Misleading and UnfairWhen I started using this app in February of this year, I really fell in love with it. Also the limit on my purchase was for $600 and was pretty nice to because it’s a great opportunity for people that have a bad credit and are building it again. I paid all my first purchases and still paying that I made in April. Days ago, I just wanted to check my purchase limit and was lowered to $110 suddenly. I called customer service and told me that the limit is determined every time that I make a purchase and run a soft credit that “doesn’t affect my score.” But, yesterday I tried to make a purchase for $43 and shown up a message telling me that I can’t create a Ghost Card at this moment, and try to make another card with smaller amount. Call customer service and told me that after 2-3 session wait a couple of hours. I followed that instructions but still the system didn’t allow me to create the card. Then, I checked my email and each time that you try to create the Ghost Card, the run your credit, even though if you do it just a few minutes after the first time. They don’t use the initial information of your credit, they make a inquiry on your credit each time, then, so far this impact your credit at certain point. I have AFTERPAY and really recommend it even more today. I love Klarna because you can use it at any website for your purchase, but now I went back to AFTERPAY. The don’t discriminate you for you credit.
Therefor, Klarna is kind of unfair because works smooth for people with good credit and in reality they don’t need the service of Klana splitting the payment in four installments. long, long story short: i went through an unforeseen patch in my life where i went from financially stable and happy years to broke in like a couple of days span. at that time, i had some payments with klarna that i had to settle. i owed them around $50, and they did have a really kind grace period, HOWEVER, they ended up sending me an email saying debt collectors would get involved in 24 hours if I did not pay my debt to them (this was a week before my grace period time was up, so i was upset about that). as said, i was in a really bad time financially, so i couldn’t pay. i’m young and assumed they would only take what was needed (the money i owed them), but they took $10,000 out of my account. i managed to get the $10k off my account, but it tanked my credit. i was able to file for bankruptcy and have my friend take the debt off my credit however, so no harsh complaints from me.

No longer working!I was in love with this app before holiday season hit and was able to stock up on some presents before December! However, when I tried to buy some more gifts around holiday season I was no longer approved for ghost cards. I thought it was perhaps due to the amount of people also trying to order around holiday season so I waited and even now I am no longer approved for ghost cards and I’m so disappointed because I loved this app. I understand it’s all an automated system that either approves you or doesn’t I just don’t know what I did wrong because my card will have more than enough money, I have tried different amounts of money for ghost card approval, and have paid all of my pervious purchases off which is hundreds of dollars by the way. Now I’m back to using Afterpay which I highly recommend to anyone looking for a similar app. Only downfall is it doesn’t have as many options as Klarna does. Started Great, but now not so muchI was really excited about this app. I don’t use credit cards so having this service is great when I need to make purchases I can pay for entirely up front. At first it was awesome. I had no problems with purchases and being refunded any amount that didn’t match the final order total. I ignored the fact that the pre-authorization would disappear from my bank account and then pop back up again once the charge was finalized. Usually a day or two. I just made a mental note to myself that the charge would come back once it was finalized. Seemed a small thing to deal with when compared to how this was helping me make some purchases. Now about 2-3 months later. I have had to get assistance multiple times to get the final amounts adjusted for purchases because they would not update (waiting a week or more even though the merchant shows the refund completed and can provide tracking info) and each time I got a different chat rep and a different answer. I’ve spent too much time doing this just to get back money that is rightly owed to me. Now I am experiencing a technical issue that they can’t seem to figure out even though I have told them what the issue is. I’m in IT so I have this type of issue in my daily work. At this point I am just done and want to just pay off my remaining balance. I’ve started using Quad Pay instead. They charge $4 per purchase, but I will pay it because they charge my bank immediately and I don’t have to make mental notes of purchases that will reappear. Switched from AfterPay to thisI was using Afterpay for everything for a very long time because since I built an amazing history with them paying on time they gave me the option to pay nothing upfront and my spending credit was over 2,000. However I had to go out of town recently and my bank thought the charges on my card were fraud. So my bank put a 24 hour hold on my credit card and one of my payments with afterpay did not go through. I did pay it the very next day and I have never missed a payment in my life and I tried explaining the situation to them however they did not care and they brought my spending credit down to zero because of that. During that time I also missed a payment with Klarna and after I explain the same situation to them they were very understanding and gave me an additional 48 hours to make my payment with no penalties. I cannot begin to explain how grateful I am for that. I do wish that Klarna gave you the option to pay nothing upfront and make your first payment two weeks afterwards like afterpay however I will never use Afterpay again. It WAS a great app NOW not so much!I have been purchasing from Klarna since July. I have purchased well over $1k worth of items. Perfect payment history never been late. Now here in the past week or so I can never get approved for a ghost card. It tells me to pay off other items. So I did that and still to not avail it’s kept declining me for a ghost card. I’ve changed cards and purchase amounts and still I cannot get approved for a ghost card. RIDICULOUS!! Is this how you treat loyal and good paying customers!? I’m not even going to bother with customer service because I don’t want to get the run around. Klarna you guys have to do better than just saying to people “keep trying” that’s terrible customer service. If a customer has established a good payment history with you guys-WHICH I HAVE. Was great not anymoreI’ve been using the service for a while now. I make purchases between pay periods and then I usually pay it off right away. The last purchase that I made went through as normal. However, for some reason, it selected auto pay and I never do auto pay with any company because that’s too much access to my account and the things in the economy being the way that they are. I don’t trust anyone to automatically help themselves to my account as I always pay what I’m supposed to pay. This weekend I happen to go ahead and just look and see what my balances are so that I can start making preparations to pay. Lol and behold one of my purchases is on auto pay and I didn’t select that. I reached out to customer service and they’re saying that there’s no way that I can cancel auto pay. Duplicate ordersThe app was perfect at first but my purchases are being duplicated in the app, I’ve reached out and it’s very hard to get help. They have suspended two orders as if there’s a problem with the merchant but it’s not the merchants problem. The problem is with Klarna and the app so be careful. No consideration for privacy needs when using app in publicI started using Klarna only because Stocard ended and it was easy to migrate my stored cards to Klarna. I have no need/desire to use Klarna for “shop now, pay later” but I figured I’d give it a try to store my cards. But today I opened the App to access one of my stored cards while I was waiting in line to pay and, despite using 2 factor ID to log in, it forced me to create and enter a PIN while I was in public where anyone could see my phone! Wrong directionI just received an email telling me my spending power has been reduced due to the lack of activity in the last 12 months. I find this interesting, as, instead of sending out a survey to understand why, or just read the commonality amongst the people in the reviews here, this is how Klarna chooses to go about it. Yet, like so many others have stated, having to “gamble” on if the purchase is going to go through or not is too much of a headache. And now, when my purchases are declined, I don’t even bother trying to reduce my cart, I just move to another service. A service in which I got long after Klarna, and have used far less, yet however has increased to 3x the amount of spending power I have now with Klarna. And honestly, if that service allowed purchases to be made anywhere, I would’ve been closed my Klarna account. And yes, I have read the Dev responses in here stating having to decide/limit the lending that can be offered. I find this as a poor response as I am sure that at the major growth of the company, there were so many of us spending, which of course resulted in the increased spending power we all have…. Or had. I think since the release of the Klarna card, which I do also have, there’s been too many (wrong) things put in place, or too many things that made Klarna awesome, taken away. Identity Verification NightmareKlarna is awful. Both my husband and I have accounts with over $1,000 of purchase power and have both made successful purchases with Klarna and have since paid them in full. Randomly, I started getting denied due to "identity verification issues". After countless chats, emails and "corrections" I have been told by every rank of employee from basic customer service rep to supervisor that my case has been escalated several times. I have been told through many communication avenues that the issue has been corrected, but my attempted purchases are still declined to this day citing identity verification issues.
My husband who has been successfully using Klarna for several months and has over $1,000 of spending power is now ALSO getting denied each time he attempts a purchases due to identity confirmation issues.
Unfortunately, we are not the only ones who have run into this issue. There is an entire feed on Reddit with scores of users saying the same thing has happened to them and Klarna has never resolved the issue.
Do yourself a favor and avoid using Klarna and stick to other more professional and reliable buy now, pay later apps like AfterPay and Affirm.
A word of caution, if you do find yourself running into this issue with Klarna, don't bother wasting your time trying to get them to correct it. Not as great as it used to beThis app used to be amazing I had stopped using PayPal and switched to klarna for the rewards that you could get gift cards with. They no longer do gift cards and it’s just $5 off whatever store you pick that they offer which aren’t places I shop at like Burberry, Etsy, Nike, Ray ban with X amount of purchase. That’s not much of a reward versus just having the $5 off of whatever purchase I’m spending at. If I had Burberry money I wouldn’t be shopping with klarna. Along with that I don’t seem to get approved for the pay in six month period anymore even though my credit score has increased and I have never made a late payment with klarna and usually pay off my transactions early. Another thing is that I have had issues with returns when it comes to Walmart. I managed to get it fixed both times but it was a lot of back and forth to not get charged for an item I didn’t receive and that Walmart didn’t charge for because they didn’t have it in stock. Another bad experience was when I bought an iPad using klarna the place I bought it through said the card was declined but klarna was still asking for payments for my purchase even though the transaction never went through. I did manage to get that corrected but it’s besides the point. I’m definitely done using klarna and going back to PayPal they even offer there own rewards for using there thing now. Doesn't even deserve 1 starI will never use Klarna ever again. I ordered something and it was never delivered I had video proof no deliveries were made to my house that day or anytime, I had emails from USPS confirming it was never delivered even emails from where I bought it from with them at first going to return my money but then said I had to take it up with the “bank” I purchased it from. I even spoke to someone from Klarna who said with all the documents and proof I uploaded I would get a full refund(well the payments would stop) and it was left at that. This was in December and a week ago I saw Klarna charged me for a payment so I went into my account and it said my request was denied, that the merchant said it was delivered so that meant it was even though I had proof it wasn't. I couldn't fight it, I couldn't even respond just case closed and I owe the remaining balance. Just when you think these places will have your back and protect you they won't. It's all about money and they didn't care if my product was delivered or not, because if they did Care from the video proof and the email from the United States Postal Service, confirming it wasn’t delivered right there should’ve been enough proof for them to refund the money but they didn’t. Please do not use service’s like this. They are scams. Yes they help you when you need them, but they do not protect you and they do not care about you. It is all about making money to them. And then give me a spending limit and then take it away again. This time in particular I placed an order for around $35. When I got the items I didn’t really care for one of them so I refunded it by returning it. And I had already paid off whatever was left of my order so it was closed after I returned the item. Well, wouldn’t you know it, suddenly my spending power is gone. I reach out to customer service and they can explain why my spending power went down when I wasn’t late on my payments or anything like that. They told me it was an automated decision, and basically just apologize for any confusion or frustration. I’ve literally never had this issue with any of the other companies that I’ve used. And quite frankly, I’m tired of getting the same issues with Klarna over and over again. There was one time when they told me to increase my spending limit, I should place a low purchase order and pay that off on time. But how am I supposed to place an order with no spending limit? Couldn’t answer that question either. This is getting old.

Busy mom 2006The app is great, but I wish it would work with the voiceover feature on my smart phone, which is what I need to use because I am visually impaired. because this app seems to be locking in in accessibility with voiceover, I am not able to create the virtual card that I need to in order to make my purchase at certain stores that I would like to shop out. The only store that I can use is Instacart because that store already has Klarna built into it. So easy to get, but can’t get it!!Found this app and was so excited to use it! I found a few stores we shop at on here and was excited to start getting some things we needed and be able to pay them off over a short period of time without worrying about a credit check or interest etc. When it came down to funding the ghost card, I first got a error message saying it couldn’t be processed and to either add another card or form of payment. Stay away from KIARNAI have spend over $2000 using this app thru several online stores, until my real nightmare started trying to process a refund on an item that I never received from my merchant due to out stock. First of all, trying to navigate the app is super overwhelming and confusing with the amount of info and sales that want to push thru. Hoping to find a live person on the phone ? Good luck! Charged before processingI was happy to get approved for the installments and have tried another app called Affirm with no issues. I wanted to get an idea of what I would be paying and thought to go through with it. I ended up backing out of the offer from Klarna to try again when I got paid. I never checked out on the order with the Merchant. Again I’m used to Affirm where they don’t process the installments until you check out. I got a notification on my bank of suspicious activity and when I checked my account I saw that Klarna had charged me the first payment. I reached their customer service to ask if there was a way the order could be processed through the merchant since I had gotten charged anyway. They said they couldn’t and that I would be refunded, no biggie to me. I liked the customer service so far for informing me. I know they can’t make the world turn for me so I’m ok with getting back what was charged. What I don’t like is that Klarna charged me the first installment without me even checking out on the order. Was an awesome app in the pastI really enjoyed Klarna i have been using it for years and have done thousands of dollars with of business through them. I had a $1500 l purchasing power roughly. And was working to get it higher. Today, I had a frustrating change on the platform. I was making a purchase on the app and it asked to connect to my bank which it has never done. So I hit the back button on the app to see why. The app then crashed and kicked me out and said I was not approved. I went ahead and did it once more and was approved even thought I was not comfortable with adding my banking information. Come to find out my long time built purchasing power had gone to 0 in seconds. After chatting with customer service they said that the first purchase attempt that was incomplete counted as a decline which brought my purchasing power to 0 and they can not do anything about it since it is now automated. This is unfair and feels like all my purchasing power built over various was reset to 0 over an error beyond my control. Klarna stole my money !!I originally started using Klarna about a year and a half ago, I enjoyed making small purchases and paying them off in 4 installments with each pay period. I paid on time NEVER missed a payment ! My credit line was increased and I made the mistake of making two larger purchases that I later needed to return. I was sure to follow the instructions on returns carefully, unfortunately due to a glitch in Klarna's System with certain retailers i.e. Macy's the return was credited to the wrong account another purchase that I made and not applied to the Macy's order. I have sent them the return receipt along with the original receipt and no one in Klarna's back office has been able to resolve and close out this issue! I have not received a refund for the initial two payments that I made, Macy's has received The return goods and Klarna is still showing that I owe them almost $900. this issue has been escalated five times, I receive computer generated messages every two weeks asking for the same information that I have now sent six times. even the phone representatives have tried to help me - they xhale sent clear emails detailing what has happened and no one can seem to resolve this. I have used other apps and made returns seamlessly with Afterpay and Zip and I have never experienced such dysfunction. Pay in store will backfire!Whatever you do, do not use the pay in store feature. I purchased 2 pair of shoes at 2 different stores on the same day, neither of them worked out, so I returned them, 2 weeks later and Klarna claimed I had not returned one of the pairs to Bloomingdale's. The agents agrued with me nonstop and accused me of being mistaken and wrong multiple times. I took months and a ridiculous amount of hours calling klarna agent's who were rude and had no knowledge of anything outside of simple script they read to every customer as well as claiming there is no such thing as a higher up or supervisor. So I have spent many, many hours with Bloomingdale's, Apple wallet (they use that when you pay in store), Sutton bank, etc. The only way I could get in touch with a supervisor at Klarna was to have the store manager from Bloomingdale's call the and put me on the line. They immediately knew of problems with returns via in store, but for some reason haven't made their phone agents aware and will fight you on it and make you feels crazy. The apple wallet system has a glitch and returned my Bloomingdale's amount onto my macys return and over refunded on the purchase, so the money just disappeared and looked like Bloomingdale's did not return it. I’ve used the app before and thought it was okay, but that was until I experienced an issue trying to order a refrigerator from Home Depot and Whirlpool never received my order so they never shipped it. Klarna was great until my recent experience.Hello and I’m really not coming on here to be petty or anything. I just want to offer some constructive criticism and warn some people of what may happen if they use Klarna instead of some other Afterpay apps. Basically what happened was I bought two concert tickets for my sister’s birthday apparently the address on my credit card didn’t match the address I gave them because I just moved out of my parents house so I put my address instead of theirs anyways. Instead of just verifying my identity first, they let me make the purchase then told me everything was good. Everything was confirmed 100%. Don’t recommendI’ve been using Klarna for a long time. No missed or late payments. Used both 4 and 6 payment options. Lots of purchases and money. Now all of a sudden they deny every purchase because they ask for last 4 SSN now. They never did this before and used to be a bad credit no problem option. I guess they are on a power trip now. So not only are they losing my business but all my family and friends as well. Not a smart move considering lower credit people are probably your larger customer base. But I recommend avoiding them and going with Affirm (approves larger spending limit and has monthly payments), Afterpay (approves larger spending limit, and is now offering monthly payments), PayPal, Zebit. Customer service terribleI’ve been with Karina since it first came out and did a lot of business with them. I had an issue about receiving an item from a merchant that I didn’t get and reason is cuz I didn’t order anything from them. After months of explaining on the Klarna chat and live agents every single one of them had different solutions and different reason why I’m not allowed to purchase but one thing they do agree on is that I neglected a payment. I never ordered anything or received anything and they want proof that I tried to reach merchant. A company with no integrityThis App worked very well in the beginning . Not sure if their policies have changed or what.... but you can no longer create ghost cards . They do not give you any explanation when you contact customer service. I have made several large and small purchase using Ghost cards and have paid them all off early never late or missed a payment. Great For A BitLet me just say that I used to LOVE Klarna. Just like some of the comments on here are similar to this so heed the warnings. At first it’s all great. I always payed either on time or before. I did not once have a late payment or even pushed back a payment by any means. However, they approved me to spend a certain amount, and over time, that amount changed (sometimes day after day) dramatically. We’re talking 1,800 to 200 to 600 to 200 etc. When you read their reasons, it says it’s based on payment history and outstanding balances. However, I can tell you from experience that is not the case. It’s always a surprise and I got tired of it. AfterPay is a lot more stable and I have never had an issue like this with them. It’s embarrassing to get a declined payment and have to switch to a regular credit or debit card. I honestly really liked the service at first and dividing payments into 4 made purchases much more palatable. However, I got tired of the inconsistency and when talking to customer service the response I got was: “it’s an automated system that NO ONE can override.” I was using Klarna primarily and AfterPay at places where Klarna wasn’t accepted. However, they did it again and when reaching out got the same copy-pasted response. Don’t bother wasting your time!Was excited to use this app, but was very disappointed after downloading & using it. There are only a handful of stores that you can shop at, Everytime I saved anything to my wishlist or added it to my cart, it would disappear after closing the app then reopening. Once I finally added an item back to my cart and went to check out, I added my card information, then was told I was not eligible but wasn’t given a reason why. I chatted with an online agent & was told I would be denied for a handful of reasons (no prepaid cards allowed, card must not expire within the next 8 weeks, & billing address must match my bank account & what I entered into the app), none of which applied to me. My card is not prepaid, I have enough money in my account, billing address matches & my card doesn’t expire until 2023. I chatted with another agent saying I do not have enough payment history with Klarna to be given the option to use the app, which is crap because how am I supposed to BUILD payment history within the app, if I’m not allowed to purchase anything?!?! Neither of the “ agents”were helpful and just kept sending automated responses. I downloaded a different app that offers the same services, called AfterPay. Hundreds of stores to choose from to shop with & within 5 minutes of downloading the app, I was able to make the purchase of what I was trying to buy from Klarna.

Good idea, but…I wanted to make a purchase and thought it’d be a good idea to pay the payment in 4 installments. At first when I was going through the process, it split up the payments equally, which I liked and that worked for me financially. Then, it upped my first payment, lowered my later payments, and didn’t give me an option to just pay equal amounts each time like it had originally given me. Usually this isn’t an issue, but at that specific time, I didn’t want to pay that higher first payment and wanted to pay equal payments. I decided to disregard that frustration and just pay the higher payment because I needed to order the stuff soon for a gift. I went through the process and put the money on the one time card, but in the end didn’t decide to buy anything through the app and just pay the payment in full on the original website I was ordering from. Me not making a purchase is a very important detail. The money I had put on the one time card was just sitting on the card, so I cancelled the card not even 2 minutes after I put the money on it. The part that really frustrates me is that now almost $150 is missing out of my bank account because of some hold that they have. If it was the entire amount I put on the card, I would understand that a little more than part of my money being held for zero reason. They said that the hold would be released and that it would show back up in my accounts in about a week, but why am I going to be missing almost $150 of my money for a week when I never made a purchase?

Terrible customer service!Company had a data breach back in March of 2021. When you logged in with your password and email, another persons account would open with their order details, card information, shipping address and a lot information. In August, I noticed an issue with my account when I was not able to make a purchase. The app told me that I have payments on another account. I only have 1 Klarna account so I thought that was strange. I chatted with an agent and she told me that because someone had my same name and birthday that the system thought it was my account. She escalates my case to a specialist. A MONTH goes by and I have not received any kind of notification so I reach out to them. A different agent gave me a lot of information stating that a women in California* I live across the country* (he gave me her address, phone number and name) was using my account and that she had multiple purchases that were not paid for. Since then I have spoken with about 8 different people and no one has been able to delete me my account or fix my issue. I have been dealing with this issue since August 2021, it is now December and no one has responded to any of my escalated cases. In addition to all of this my bank account was hacked. Better options out there.Do not use Klarna. I purchased concert tickets through them and the concert has since been cancelled. Refund was done 5 days ago and I randomly got 2 much smaller amounts instead of the full refund so I reached out. First agent told me that it would go towards my Klarna balance and I’d have to request a refund. I said there’s nowhere in my account a balance shows how do I request a refund? They didn’t give me an answer said they were sending it to a specialist time and I’d hear back in 1-2 days. I still haven’t heard from them. So I reached out again yesterday and got a response that they had long hold times but someone would be with me soon. That was fine I just left the chat up and kept working but no one ever came. The chat is still waiting for a response 24 hours later but I contacted again not through my purchase and finally got a response. Now all of a sudden the rest of the refund is processing and I’ll have it in 5-7 business days. Why didn’t they just send the refund all at once? Non-functional appInitially I had issues with actually getting the app to open and work without crashing, but that was resolved after I removed most of my wishlists. The payment method was going ok, until my credit card info got stolen and I had to switch cards. I did that, but the app still tried charging my old card, and obviously the payment didn’t go through. I updated it again and contacted customer service to ask them to charge me the declined payments, since there wasn’t an option for that. They told me I’d automatically get charged within the next 10 days. I asked if I’d be penalized for that in any way , and they said no. Since then, the app is just not working at all. Any time I try to create a ghost card, even for the minimum amount, it just gets declined. And by the way, I already paid in full any transactions I had with them, and not just the installments I owed. I tried to reach out to customer service, but instead of actually getting help, I got snarky non-responses from one of their customer reps. One of my questions by the way, was if this situation would affect my general credit score (i.e. if they filed a report), which is an extremely important question to have an answer to, but the guy I was trying to talk to was too busy trying to be a smart-ass than actually respond. DisappointedHonestly I’m very disappointed in this app. My cousin was the one that told me about and I was really excited about it. I finally get paid from work and I want to buy some things for myself. When I start wanting to make a ghost card, it says “I’m not approved. (Whatever that means).” My cousin and my sister had no problem making purchases but for some reason I went through so much trouble just trying to make my first purchase. I contacted someone through Facebook messenger and they told me that I had to have a debit/credit card, a real bank, and it couldn’t expire in like a couple days. I had a debit card from Santander and it expired in 2020, so this didn’t correspond. So the guy told me wait a couple days because the app can be iffy. So I waited four days. Then I contact customer service again, and a woman named Jessica answers, asks me what bank I use, I tell her Santander and then she completely leaves me on read and leaves the conversation. Then a man named Kristofer answer and he tells me the same exact thing the guy in Facebook tells me and I tell him that everything is good and the only answer I got was that they didn’t know why it wasn’t working and that I need to make smaller purchases. Really grateful for this app but need to provide constructive criticism.This app has helped me afford my medicine and I will always be grateful. I also buy concert tickets. There are a lot of glitches with the app that I’ve had to work around. For example, I can no longer see the card information when I go to pay in 4. The app keeps asking me to verify my identity and when I do it doesn’t take and just asks again. This means I haven’t been able to pay in 4 regularly anymore. The only way around it is using Apple Pay where I don’t have to have the cvc number go check out. Please fix this. Also for the longest time the app said I owed 0.09¢ and wouldn’t let me buy anything. I kept paying things off and contacting customer support and it still said I was overdue 0.09¢. It wasn’t fixed for weeks until I messaged customer service, they had me send a text that supposedly reset my account somehow. There’s also the issue where I’ll click on a payment in the app and it will say “updating payment information” even though the charge is due very soon. So I can’t change the payment method if I need to to make the payment. Only way I found around this was opening a type of customer service ticket and paying / updating through there. Beware! Customer Service is Awful!I have been a Klarna customer since 2022 without issue until I received a late payment notice this month. I reviewed my account statement on the app and can see that for whatever reason, my autopay is still the correct date but the payment isn’t posting until a week later which is not due to my bank. A late fee was charged to my account. I called customer service and the guy accused me of being “confused” and told me not to worry about it because he couldn’t see it on his end. It took a half hour of waiting on hold to get that answer. I told him I literally am looking at the late fee charge on my account summary. Beware!!!Coach stores Klarna return process is the worst ever. I returned my items at the Coach store in Los Angeles. I was told returns are accepted in store. Well returns are not actually accepted in store. What they do is, put it in a ups shipping bag and give you the tracking number and tell you that Klarna returns are not “processed in store” we ship it for you and it’s ground shipping so it takes 5-10 business days to arrive at the warehouse. My return arrived at the warehouse exactly a week later and was told that my return would be processed within 5-9 business days. Well it’s now 1 week later which is two weeks from the day I made my return at the coach store. And my return has finally only been acknowledged as received by coach today. And now they will process the refund within up to 9 days. WTH!!! And of course once it’s processed it then takes another 3-5 business days for the money to be received by Klarna. And then another 3-5 business days for Klarna to process the refund and another 3-5 business days for my money to actually be received into my bank account. So if you have been keeping count of total time it will take to receive my refund from the day I returned the items directly to the store in person. It’s drumroll…….. 6 weeks and I’m on week 2 as of today.

Skip it. Creates Chaos for Your Financial SelfKlarna seems promising at first, they go out of their way to make your first purchase easy, to recruit you in. However, once you join it it feels chaotic, buggy, and confusing and they are not transparent with your credit line. Customer Service is poor-75 minute wait times for reps that read from scripts. Returns are difficult-you are responsible to prove the return happened to get your money back. Your ‘Purchase Power’ isn’t real-it’s a ‘perceived amount’ they may or may not let you actually use. Keeping track of payments is difficult. Keep in mind your payments come at you every 2 weeks.. with multiple purchases you will quickly feel overwhelmed. Klarna intentionally does not share your total amounts due-rather they keep your purchases isolated from each other-this is a tactic that psychologically makes you feel like you’ve spent less than you have. It works, and then unfortunately you overspend and then chaos comes and you feel terrible about yourself. It’s very predatory. I mean, do we really want this for ourselves? Overall a lot of bait-n-switch from what they advertise. (They’ve put more effort into their rad campaign than developing their customer service.. that says a lot.) ComplainFound this app and was so excited to use it! I found a few stores we shop at on here and was excited to start getting some things we needed and be able to pay them off over a short period without worrying about a credit check or interest etc. The first time I made a purchase it was working but the third one didn't work and tried to fix it with customer service but nothing. When it came down to funding the ghost card, I first got a error message saying it couldn't be processed and to either add another card or form of payment. I double checked I entered all of card info correctly and I did! So I tried again and once more!! Then it tells me I'm not approved?!! I don't get it! So I call Klarna customer service and they tell me they look at past history, bank info and means of paying back the purchase. I've never had a Klarna account in mv life and I've never had a negative bank account. And The purchase I was trying to start out with to try don't get it?! The rep on the phone tells me there's nothing they can do to over ride the decision and I'm just not able to shop with them I guess? Super disappointed. Smoke and MirrorsThis app and company is so incredibly frustrating. My family was financially impacted by the pandemic and we reached out to understand if we had any payment options - we were told we could pause payments for 3 months without penalty. 3 months later we were unable to resume making payments, the option isn’t even available on our account. We reached out to customer support and for weeks we were told that our payments were still not due, and then later, that someone would contact us to help us resume making payments. Nobody ever contacted us. Turns out that our account has been closed and payments have been sent to a debt collection agency. The app now tells us to contact the debt collection agency to make payments. The only problem? We have no idea who that company is or how to reach them. I finally called customer support and they told me that our account was closed because we stopped making payments, I explained that we did so under what we were led to believe was a payment arrangement and it turns out pausing our payments was actually one in the same with closing our account. They gave us a few different numbers to try to locate the debt collection company because Klarna doesn’t even know who that is. I feel so gaslight but this entire experience. Nobody replies to you on this app and the company itself doesn’t seem to know what’s going on. It’s frustrating to have weathered a financial hit from the pandemic and to have it followed up by trying to chase down how to resume making payments. SCAMThis company and app are one massive SCAM. I’ve wasted hours upon hours every week for months because they charged me for orders that were cancelled either because THEIR card expired before it was processed or it was just plain cancelled within seconds of placing the order because it was wrong.

BlockedI have used Klarna for several years. I never had any issues, then one day I wasn’t able to make any payments of any kind. I was prevented from making early payments. The app had blocked me from logging in on any other devices meaning lab top, iPad, other cell phones. When I say I was blocked they even blocked my email. I called and called and called them. They blocked every card I had. I still had payments to make and it would not except my card autopay they would kick the payments back. I called my bank and my credit card company. I too am a Stocard migratorI used Stocard for years and it was simple. Everything was in order and you can choose the order you wanted your cards in.
I’ve just been forced to move to Klarna which was relatively seamless however it is clearly not designed for loyalty cards. It takes a serious back seat and is missing all the features.
Cards are no longer sorted, no longer relevant to the store I’m near. I can’t even put these in a custom order nor an order of frequently used. You can only sort alphabetically which I bet is exhausting if you have many cards.

Always Charging and NOT checking outI have had this issue on several occasions using Klarna. When I go to checkout, my card is automatically charged, but my purchase is not put through. I got to the cashier and discovered when I opened my Stocard App it would not let me use it unless I switched to Klarna. You only realize how clunky it is once you’re standing at the cash—suddenly being asked to create passwords or go through unexpected changes!
The migration process was fairly easy (though I lost a couple of saved cards in the move).
The biggest issue: no simple search function!
I contacted customer support and they casually told me that “search” isn’t available in some regions—something the previous app handled perfectly.
It feels like this version was designed on a “high-level” vision without considering real-world use.
