It’s Awesome - Highly RecommendedI’ve used PayPal for many years now. I feel my transactions are safer. It gives me a peace of mind. They provide security when dealing with a 3rd party seller. On the few occasions when I’ve needed to contact them for a transaction dispute, they’ve always been there for me to solve any conflict resolutions with 3rd parties sellers. I also use PayPal Credit as a secret personal account separate from my husband’s account. I tend to mail money orders as my main source of payment to PayPal Credit as my secret account from my husband who knows nothing of the money orders. The only problem is I can only obtain money orders in amounts of $300. So if I need to make a $500 payment, that requires two money orders of $300 and $200 to equal the $500 payment. Of course, I put the two money orders in the same mailing envelope to the payment processing center. At the payment processing center, the envelopes are opened by a mail sorting machine. That machine opened a payment envelope one time and only processed one of the two money orders. That was $300 that got lost that time. It took weeks for them to finally find the missing money order after I spoke to a manager so I started putting all money orders in separate envelopes to avoid that in the future. I feel they could improve in that area. Some of use married folks have secret accounts from our spouses to avoid conflict. PayPal Credit has been a God send. But we should be able to put two money orders or checks in the same envelope. That’s my only complaint. :-).Version: 7.32.1

Pre approved = nothingThe only real problem I’ve had is that they keep sending me notifications and adds that I’m pre approved for there debit card. Yet I can not get one. Also to add to my frustration. After being a customer for a long time. I have finally been offered the chance to just get the regular pay pal card to spend my balance at physical locations. Other than that. I have only had good service. Or maybe I was just one of the lucky ones that has not yet had to deal with certain situations yet. Only more time will tell. There are other options out there that are catching up if not surpassed PayPal by now. Stop resting on your laurels and step your game up. Otherwise four star reviews will turn into 1 star. Treat your customers with more respect and not like there the criminals in fraud cases. Cause honestly the bot and the help section have no idea what happened or happens in a fraud situation. Compassion. Some of the people who use your service is literally the only money and way of banking they can use. The fraud cases may very well be that persons last dime. Meaning no more income at all anywhere. I know it’s a four star review I gave you. Only cause I personally have not dealt with such situations. I have witnessed others I know personally deal with such things. I’m sure there reviews would be much lower. If the holding of my money or fraud happened to me and it was a nightmare to handle. Use PayPal exclusively to run all my businessesHere at the Jungle Gym we use PayPal exclusively to process our credit card payments, to do online payments, to do PayPal here on site and we use virtual terminal to take phone orders. I also use PayPal in my boomerang business, Leading Edge Boomerangs. In both of my businesses I want to make it as easy as possible for my customers to pay me anytime and anyway they want. With PayPal I can take a payment on the beach using PayPal Here or virtual terminal. My customers can go online to our website and pay for classes or parties 24 hours a day by using the PayPal link on our website. Customers will call me to book a birthday party and I take their payment right over the phone and use virtual terminal to process the payment. When they come in for open gym, using PayPal Here they can swipe their card and process their own transaction. I can also pay bills online or by phone using my business debit card linked directly to my PayPal account. I can transfer money directly to the bank account for the business or I can access cash instantly at an ATM. I can pay staff directly online through PayPal, giving me a record of every transaction and payment. The other nice thing is that PayPal just continues to get better as far as ease-of-use and reporting so I know that R&D continues from their end. And finally we have never ever had a security breach using PayPal. Neither our accounts nor those of our clients have ever been compromised or jeopardized through using PayPal. Most aspects work well with one glaring exception!The resolution center needs an overhaul! I provide educational services not physical products. I have been notified of a buyer filing a claim with their bank that the transaction was unauthorized, a month AFTER they attended class and got their certificate thus reaping the benefit of the class/service. This is known as “fraud” they got what they paid for turned it in to the court and then 30 days later try to get their money back. When I received the email I go to the resolution center as directed and the case is not there. I send Paypal the supporting documents (registration / attendance sheet signed by the student) proof they got what they paid for. The case never appears in the resolution center. Paypal notifies me they have not received anything from me contesting the case. I go back to the resolution center and miraculously the case is there but the reply/respond button doesnt work. I call them and they tell me to email documents to a specific email address. I do that and get an email back that the documents have been forwarded to the person to put them in the case file. A week later I am notified that the case was decided in the buyers favor because I failed to respond to the case! There have been other disputes that I received emails of that never appeared in my open case section of the resolution center. Not sure if there is just one person who is extremely swamped in this department or if paypal is using a very poor program to run this department. But the end user “me” is getting the short end of the deal right now. Hopefully they fix it soon..Version: 7.35.0

Customer Service Is Not The BestI’ve been using PayPal for a couple of years now and for the most part everything has gone smooth. I did have one issue where I ordered something online that I never received. I contacted PayPal after trying to contact the seller and tracking the package the way that the sellers website said to with only lies coming from their end. I was ready to give up but contacted PayPal in hopes they would at least get my money back to me. I explained what happened at they opened a case then after around two months of stringing me along they told me the purchase was made too long ago to report so I’d have to take it up with the seller who I couldn’t get in touch with in the first place which is why I resorted to contacting PayPal in the first place. If they had handled it correctly instead of dragging their feet it wouldn’t have been over the limit. I lost around $100 and they made me feel like I was the reason for it when I merely paid my bill and expected to receive what I ordered in a timely fashion. They need to improve their business model and their attitude. Bots aren’t capable of doing everything including dealing with sellers ripping people off through the web by posting fake websites and selling you lies you need actual people to look into things and arrive at sensible conclusions. I lost a lot of confidence in their payment protection and now only deal with well known websites I’ve used for years. Pity you can’t venture away from the old tried and true even with a “ guarantee” of protection..Version: 7.34.1

Having to rethink using PayPal !I do not feel that it is right to be charged a $25 fee to send a family member that is in the service $800! I do know about the friends and family deal that you have set up, however my son was not in a situation where he could wait six days for a check to clear. Due to their family emergency they needed the funds immediately. A lot of times that is the case and is what PayPal and the friends and family is set up for. I stayed on the phone with one of the representatives in your company for over an hour, and I will add that I stayed on hold when I First called in for over 30 minutes waiting to speak with someone in the beginning. And obviously that did no good whatsoever. The lady that tried to help me was very nice, however she could not speak English very well at all even though I will give her a B+ for trying. Also she was not familiar with any of your policies whatsoever every question I had she had to put me on hold and go look them up so there would be a question and another five minute hold, a question and another five minute hold yes I realize people have to train, but when doing so normally there is a supervisor or at least someone that has been on the job for a couple years sitting there beside them trying to help them and lead them through the difficult questions. I felt like this lady while giving it her best was just kind of hung out to dry. A lot of times I was leading her rather than her leading me. Really sad to say that I have started using Cash App to do most of my transactions just because it is simpler and easier to use. And it is linked directly to my bank account and I can do just as much quicker with it than I can with PayPal. 😞.Version: 7.17.0

Flawless for me, but recent trends have me worried.I have been a member here since before Elon sold it. So maybe 20 - 25 years? More? Their customer service has been excellent to me when I had a lost card or Email issues and The card has always worked. As a financial service it has been, until now, just about flawless. However, lately the company has been taking a stand on issues that worry me, and I feel have no place in a financial services company. They are hewing to an ESG model of corporate governance, which means they are embracing trendy racism, with DEI ideology and taking a partisan stand on societal issues, when all money is, is a tool, for the exchange of goods and services. Taking a stand on issues that map to a light version of Marxism, is not something a tool of Capitalism should be doing, if their most important attribute is the trust the customers place with them along with their money. Leftists cannot be trusted, because power is their only true value. Everything else they profess is just a means to acquire and maintain power. If PayPal desires to aid the left in its acquisition of power, at the expense of its customers, legal, but on the right, I cannot recommend them, until such time as they return to pure service values they have had before the current year. PayPal’s threats of fines and cancellations for views within the boundaries of The First Amendment are unacceptable. No Phone support, tools for recovering money from scammers!Currently there is No method to open a case for a seller that refuses to send an item; there needs to be a way to induce seller to send an item in an agreed upon time frame while leaving further recourse for the buyer to escalate the case if the seller sends and empty package, a SNAD, damaged item etc. I was forced to open an item not received cased because the seller refuse to have courier our pick up the item. When the courier picked up item I closed the case believing item was on its way. The seller from Italy sent an empty envelope. So I had no way to reopen an item not received case. Luckily Ebay saw thru her I’ll conceived fraudulent child’s plan and took the 250 euro from her account to deposit in my PayPal account 2 months later. After all the lost sleep worrying and anger about being scammed because of my good faith, I believe I deserved pain and suffering compensation as well as the item that was my true loss in the matter. Ask so she immediately declined my PayPal payment on eBay so I would make the payment directly on PayPal, believing eBay’s protection policy wouldn’t apply because payment was made outside Ebay; another amateur scammers move as Ebay owns PayPal and are under the same umbrella protection. Also she sent false pictures of packages to me the were seemingly counterfeited by a child. This matter should be referred to Criminal Mail Fraud Europol authorities at the least so tha justice can be served.Version: 7.26.0

Mr.T HarrisI was forced to start over again after almost leaving a very long review but just because they cut me off now I must be very blunt and straight to the point. I gave PayPal five stars because I have never had a problem with them in the past,but what I was saying with identity theft being at a all time high I understand that things can happen but when you are passing yourself off as a reputable business you are supposed to rectify any problems that may occur. Case in point I have noticed some very suspicious activities happening with my account especially after someone slipped up and I found after some digging that there are not two but possibly three other people with the same w. I know people have same names all the time but I don’t believe in coincidences back to back if you know my first name you would know that it’s a very unique name and spelled differently anyway same name, age, and date of birth. I love this appSo I usually don’t write reviews but after what just happened I knew I had to. Recently i had plenty of my platforms hacked because I used the same password for most of my platforms (stupid yes I know they’re changed now). I had changed most of my passwords but had forgotten to change my PayPal password and that led to some issues. Well yesterday when I logged on I saw three payments I didn’t recognize because I only use PayPal to pay my Disney+. Well I looked into it and decided to report it as a payment someone else set up. I wasn’t expecting much from PayPal but within less than two hours I received an email saying my case had been resolved and the money taken out had been refunded as it was determined as unauthorized payments. The amount of relief I felt after getting that email was great. So yes I 10/10 recommend PayPal for online payments and shopping. Also don’t use the same password for all your platforms lol. The only thing I could think of to make the app better is if they would send an email or text whenever another device logs into your account. So if you’re deciding whether or not to get PayPal do it! Great service But the App Got A Little Worse Last UpdatePayPal, please either revert automatic payment management to the previous method or add a “display all activity” button. Managing automatic payment has been taking 10x longer (used a stopwatch to check) than before. I’ve been using PayPal for around 2 decades and the app itself for many years. I have had good experiences with both. Unfortunately a recent update made things a little (not a lot) worse by changing the way automatic payments are managed. Previously all vendors that you had automatic payments with were loaded as a scrollable list at once which was a fast and easy way to manage the payment option used for each almost instantly. Now I have to push “More Activity” and wait for a handful of them to be added to the list then push it again (13 times in total), a process that adds over a minute to the process each time I want to manage the payment option for a vendor at the bottom of the list. To be clear, this is my only issue with both the app and PayPal so far. My experience with both has been positive. But I frequently adjust payment methods to avoid getting excessive credit card usage on one card and this update made that a lot more time consuming. Protecting peopleYou always make sure that you have everyone’s back that has a PayPal account which is wonderful but I know that there are people out there that has stolen my identity are trying to do all kinds of things in my name but I can’t find out who it is but I know it wasn’t through you guys but it really makes me angry that every time I turn around and something comes up with my account where I can hardly ever buy a cell phone I can’t go and buy things or do certain things because of these people have hacked into many of my accounts for other stuff and it just I can’t get these people to stop and I know that they’ve never stolen my identity through you guys as far as I know but I know that if I ever find out who it is because I’ve tried to get a hold of Social Security because I can’t do certain things because of somebody hacked my accounts but never three guys so I’m happy for that that they don’t mess with PayPal because you will punish them and I like that about you so right now all I have to say is I know that you always have my back so thank you and I will always have a PayPal account with you and you will always be there for me and I know that so thank you..Version: 8.25.1

The only pay app I trust but,,,,I have been using PayPal for many years and for the most part you can’t beat the protection that they have. Out of over a thousand transactions I have had maybe a dozen disputes. Out of those disputes two did not go in my favor which I still don’t agree with the decision. The first dispute was I paid $30 for an item from a vendor within the U.S. and never received an order confirmation and ultimately never received the item. I physically called the company and never got anyone on the phone and only got a pre recorded saying that they are backlogged with orders and are doing their best to get orders filled after waiting months I filed a dispute with PayPal and after a month PayPal got back to me saying that they got no response from the vendor and if I wanted to escalate the dispute I had to respond within 7 days or the dispute gets thrown out, well during that response time I was on vacation in the Mojave desert camping in my RV riding ATV’s so when I got back to civilization and contacted PayPal they said that being that I didn’t respond in the allotted time that the dispute was closed. It’s only $30 but I just feel that maybe the response time should be a little longer. All in all, it’s a great service with great protection for their customers..Version: 7.40.5

A little disappointedAs with other reviewers, I have had PayPal for many years and have not had any issues until recently. The newest website design is confusing to me. I sent in regular monthly payments as I had been doing for years. This was for a 6-month same as cash deal. Out of the blue I received a check for over $600 from PayPal. When I checked my account online i realized There were 2 separate accounts , one was charged interest for the same-as-cash purchase and a late fee; the other was where the $600+ check came from. I don’t remember this happening before. Apparently PayPal had made changes to the way they handled my account. If they notified me of these changes I don’t remember reading anything Besides, every year about this time we get notices of privacy laws, terms and conditions, and other legal papers with jargon that I just don’t keep up with I made a call to PayPal customer service and got the issue resolved. The gentleman I spoke with took off the extra charges without a problem. The Rep was professional but had no personality. It was ok though since he fixed the problem. I WOULD RECOMMEND PAYPAL TO MY CHILDRENI’ve been a PayPal costumer for about a year, over this past year I have had no problems with PayPal .. It’s a very easy banking app to use, everything is self explanatory.. If you are a customer having trouble it’s probably because you did not take your time or didn’t read everything through… If you have had issues no matter what state you’re from there is a Attorney General you can get a hold of and they take banking very seriously because it is federal. So if there’s a discrepancy with your money or transactions and PayPal is refusing to give you the customer service you deserve as a customer I recommend you call the attorney generals office immediately and file a complaint. Obviously the attorney generals office also does not look kind upon false allegations either.. As me myself and I as a customer I have had no issues whatsoever it works great for any online shopping I do, I do surveys and get paid to do them it works great for a payment option for a number of online employers even such as Uber or Lyft.. I would recommend PayPal to my children and to any family member with that being said I obviously trust PayPal‘s system..Version: 8.7.0

Better then a BankI have no had PayPal for at least ten years and love it!!!! It keeps excellent records for you all your history and with whom. I’ve read some of the negative remarks and I have an extremely hard time believing many of them. Yes that they might of spend some time on the phone; well guess what nothing in this world happens at a snap of the finger. Yes even with banks and Comcast you can spend 2-3 hours on the bank; as long as your issue has been resolved. Anytime I have called PayPal for anything they have always resolved my issue. They have opened cases for me and have never taken a penny; they do NOT Charge for that so stop lying. Also if someone has sent you money and then called and filed a case against it and their bank, yes you have to deal with the person who did that and not PayPal. Just as any bank receives a fraudulent transaction and gives back the money so does PayPal. So why do you think if someone called in on you and said it is a fraudulent transaction you get to keep the money? Hence you have to deal with the person who owes you money. I completely understand people love to complain and make an elephant out of a mouse. However, any issue I have ever had was dealt with amazing customer service..Version: 7.8.2

Love the app, hate the new designThis is a wonderful app. I never have any problems with it working, and it's so convenient to use. The only thing I don't like is the new design where when you open it up, instead of your balance being at the top, the latest notifications are at the top, and they're really large taking up a lot of room, and you have to open them to get rid of them, which is a hassle, even though you can see what they say without opening them. Then to get to your balance so you can tap it to do a money transfer, you have to scroll down past all that. I used to be able up open up PayPal, immediately see how much money I had, and boom, transfer funds in two seconds. Now I gotta go through the hassle of scrolling through notifications that someone sent me funds, when I already knew that because I got the pop-up notification, and scan through the visual clutter to find my balance. It's a chore to have to go through and open each notification message to get rid of it so I can actually see my balance. The new interface is cluttered and confusing. The balance doesn't stand out and is harder to pick out among all the other stuff, and that's the main thing people usually want to see first. Please change it back. This new design is horrible. Exchange Rate WoesLove all things PayPal when it comes to eBay business and payments, customer service has always been pleasant and they actually have a personality when speaking with them. Only downfall as a Canadian - exchange rate is terrible when converting from USD to CDN funds - like BAD bad. Payment DelaysThe app is very easy to use and safe; however, I felt not all of the information was transparent. Summary: The app could improve transparency while doing transactions about fees and any additional charges involved in the transaction. There is a big miscommunication problem. I was trying to send some money to a friend and decided to send him 15 dollars, which is the equivalent of nearly 202 Mexican pesos (according to PayPal’s system). When my friend saw the transaction, he noted he received only 180 Mexican pesos instead of the 202 that the app told me he would receive. The app at no point let me know the recipient would be charged for “International Currency Conversion” or anything similar, which I believe is a lack of transparency. Not only that, but PayPal decided to keep this money on hold for 20 additional days and they did not let me know this before completing the transaction. They never mentioned a delay time before this transaction. On top of that, I was told that even if I requested a refund for this transaction, I would not be entitled to a full refund as a conversion charge was made and I would lose that money. I hope they can get this fixed soon, it would be great. Thanks!.Version: 8.83.0
