Exactly what I neededI was looking to build some sort of support group and I saw an ad for this app. So far it has been exactly what I wanted and more! We have a great private forum that can be customized to our groups needs. Thank you so much for creating this app! I have been able to connect with people from all over the world with similar experiences. My only request would be for some way for groups to be discoverable if you want them to. I love this app but some flawsI love how this app connects you with people . I’m new to the city so it’s helped me get out . I would suggest an update where you have a notifications tab . When I comment on someone’s post , I lose it with all the other comments people are leaving in the rooms ( in my Notification Center on my phone ) . So I always miss it . Secondly !! It’s confusing on my Notification Center with all the people commenting in different rooms , I know you can see the top room name however maybe we should be able to mute some rooms we want to be in but not care really about who’s commenting . Thirdly , I join alot of rooms. The new update for the rooms makes it overwhelming for me to stare at . I also liked how I could still see the rooms , even though the chats were open. 4 for potentialI love the app first and foremost, but it needs a little work, mostly regarding bugs. I’d suggest a few key things: Primarily: the chats often glitch on IOS where you have to close and reopen the app to see what you’ve sent or new chats. Very frustrating Secondarily: the side panel is a bit visually over stimulating. I preferred the visual conciseness of slack, perhaps you make it so that you have to swipe twice to see the main menu, which would give more room for the channel/side panel, does that make sense? Thirdly: this is small, but the capacity to change the color scheme on individuals phones, I’d like the freedom to choose which colors I see, as the color that the admin chooses might be distracting or visually displeasing. Lastly: the capacity to add new emojis such as in Slack, as well as, very importantly, a reactions tab, reactions don’t show up in activity like they do on slack. Very iffyI love the idea of this app. I feel like its harder to meet new people in NYC. But this app has many downfalls. For example, anyone can sign up you never know if it’s a fake page or not. People can stand you up & you’ll just be there. I believe they should work on verifying accounts and put in a system showing who really meets up and doesn’t. I only had to app for 2 weeks and got stood up twice. I don’t mind if someone cancels but saying nothing at all is dangerous especially if I’m traveling to meet up or going to an event. Lastly, I have been able to meet cool girls and make friends. Just don’t download this app with expectations. Amazing! Phenomenal! Showstopping!The app is very much what you’re looking for as a social creature living in 2024. The design is so beautiful and thoughtfully made! Not without its flawsI like this app so far. Many interesting groups in my city. However, I think threaded replies could be implemented better. If the chat is very active, it’s hard to keep up on different comments. I also would prefer an age verification option for safety. What happened to the group explore page??I’ve been using Geneva for a while to use with clients in my group programs, and for that, I love it. However, the initial appeal of Geneva for me was the vast array of different groups I could find. There were sooo many options! Now when I go to the discovery page it's showing me groups in my area (i absolutely do not care about those, fyi) and it’s super difficult to just explore all kinds of groups from anywhere in the world. Good app, wish blocking workedI think the over all app concept and functionality is really good, however i blocked someone and noticed that I still saw her messages and she could reply to me?? I read the website and it said blocking only blocks them from dms. I block people with the intention of never having to see them or their messages. They stole my design idea, good!I was literally about to design and build pretty much what Geneva is before stumbling across it on Product Hunt. It’s very well designed to what I envisioned. I think this is going to be a huge company in a short while. Some tips & requests: 1) Never go woke, ever. No politics! 2) Focus on free speech (the legal definition) 3) Implement passwords with 2-FA security 4) Darkmode for the web version 5) APIs / web services 6) Embed codes for live broadcasts 7) Dashboard for public broadcasts like Periscope used to have along with a geo map. Bring back the preferencesSomeone failed at this revamp. There seems to be no algorithm, which makes finding true friendships difficult. I am all about meeting people that can broaden my thinking and do not gravitate towards people who fit in my exact demographic and thought patterns, but....... getting rid of most preferences was a bad idea. People go through different phases of life and that has nothing to do with age (one of two filters that still exist). The only other one is distance. Their new distance is a straight line from 1 mile to 50+ miles and no number references in between. You just have to guesstimate where your dot is on the line. I haven't been interested in most people they send me because they are not in my same town and not in the same phase of life I am. I will reiterate, age does not determine if you want to make married couple friends, have chill nights in, or party all night long. That's ageists to think it does. I do appreciate them taking away the dating swipe feature and adding a group option. I wouldn't know how to use the group option because the algorithm is as far off. I hope they update it to help make true lasting friendships, not just giving you options based on someone's age and where they are on a distance line lacking numbers..RLReviewedVersion: 3.1.0

GarbageThis app is garbage! I cannot even set up a profile because it’s constantly stuck on the picture verification step! I went through the steps, put in the amount of pictures it wanted and smiled for the camera to do the selfied for verification and it and I have never been able to get past this stupid step! I’ve tried deleting the app, shutting my phone down, reinstalling the app, and it will not work! Magically it remembers my information but it won’t get past the verification still! I can’t even delete my account to remake it because I can’t even get into the app or my account to do so… but what’s weird is my account somehow got made because it I delete the app and reinstall it and then open it I can move around the app until the big obnoxious pop up yelling at me about Geneva being BFF comes up and then the app spazzes out and brings me to the steps to make the account again, to which I then get stuck at the verification AGAIN! This app is so poorly made, there looks to be so many glitches and bugs and clearly they need to work on it, especially the way they verify pictures! Bring Back The Old LayoutRespectfully, this update is disappointing. The only real positive is being able to scroll back through previous matches and the required verification, which is a step in the right direction. Aside from that, the experience has gone downhill. The traditional swipe left/right system was simple and effective, and it should have been kept with just a modern refresh. Don’t fix what isn’t broken. It’s also frustrating that you can’t filter matches by age or other preferences anymore, and the overall design feels unnecessarily complicated compared to the old version. On top of that, the “take a break” feature is frustrating, I had barely been scrolling for five minutes before the app told me to stop. In addition, the messaging feature is so confusing. This has turned into a terrible experience from an app that was once great. I really hope feedback is taken seriously, because I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. Immediate DisappointmentI’ve used Bumble to date along with multiple other dating services, but this is the first time I’m using a friend finding service. I’ve heard great things, but after putting the energy into setting up my account, I was immediately disappointed by the lack of filters, as well as the old-fashioned and heteronormative assignment of gender and lack of inclusion. Bumble dating acts so “progressive” by protecting women and encouraging them to reach out first, but the company is clearly not as seen by many reviews that point out blocking doesn’t work and not allowing multigender friendships. We talk about a “lonely boy epidemic” and use the excuse of preventing males from hitting on females under the guise of friendship, but this app is just reinforcing gender/ social norms without giving the option for change. Literally just give the user the option to choose who they wanna be friends with. App Needs Major ImprovementI downloaded this app hoping to make new platonic friendships with people of the opposite gender, and this app forces you to swipe through all profiles of the same gender. The only exception I notice is it shows people who list themselves as nonbinary. If the app is truly for friendship, why does it matter if opposite genders interact with each other? The recent filters added for age and distance help, but why not add other necessary features that users are clearly begging for? I also noticed in the beginning when I downloaded this, it notified me when someone clicked the wave button trying to match my profile. Now it suddenly doesn’t notify me and I need to shuffle through the list of people to find them. The only reason I haven’t uninstalled this is because I matched with a friend I’ve been chatting with and I don’t want to bail on them. Clearly, they are misguided by the product management team or the lack of a product management team. I want to meet other straight males that live in my area. I do not want to meet people who are 150 miles away or who are gay. I just don’t want that type of dynamic in my friendships I have no issues with people who are homosexuals, but unfortunately, I’ve had too many bad experiences with people on this app who think that they can use it as a place to find straight guys to hook up with. Clearly Frustrating on PurposeThis app has been designed to be frustrating. They have clearly decided to separate BFF from Bumble to try to get people to pay for an extra subscription with two apps instead of one. This one is poorly designed from the outset and will add valuable features that will then only be paywalled. This is a horrible, anti-social strategy. There are no longer any filters. This doesn’t make sense when trying to match for compatibility with ages, distance, etc. I do not want to be friends with people dozens of miles away or even a state away when I live in a city and don’t have a car! I also get notifications about people matching with me. I then check the app and don’t actually see any matches. Can I only see matches if we both say “Hi” to each other? I’m not sure if the app is just spamming me or what, but I’m not getting how connection is even supposed to work on this new app. Swiping was fine. Profiles and the visual design of the app look clunkier and less appealing. Scanning a profile now is hard because a lot of the information visually just blends together. Genuinely so frustratingI literally downloaded this app because I thought it would be better and I can’t even get past setting up my profile not to even mention the first bumble app the normal one I literally had to use a whole different phone number because it still keeps saying I’m not 18 when I’m already 18 came to this app thought it would be better. I can’t even get past adding my photos because every time I try to add any sort of photo I’ve tried multiple different photos. It literally says You must add at least two photos to continue and don’t even add any of my photos. I just can’t get past that screen like it’s so frustrated and it’s so annoying. Sort of a downgrade.Wow, this is a huge letdown. The only thing I didn’t like about the original bumble for friends app is that you have to pay to see who liked you/wants to be friends, but this new app is so wack. First of all, they give you a limit on how many people you can swipe by and the features must obviously still be in the works, because the app doesn’t really offer much. It doesn’t let you set preferences on who you want to be friends with, as far as age or gender.. it honestly feels like a dead end. It also doesn’t show an accurate history of your interactions with people. You guys need to do better, people are actually seeking connections and this new app isn’t very helpful. Not Worth the DownloadI liked Bumble’s BFF feature because it actually helped me meet genuine people, and I appreciated how Bumble let us showcase hobbies, music, and books separately. It gave more ways to show who we are beyond just pictures or generic prompts. This app ruined that. It’s glitchy, slow, and poorly run. My fully covered, verified photo was flagged as “inappropriate,” which proves your moderation system is broken. Developers: stop prioritizing gimmicks and fix the fundamentals. Bring back the depth of profiles that let people highlight real interests instead of forcing shallow interactions. Fix your AI moderation so normal, verified photos aren’t flagged. Make the app stable before pushing updates. Right now, it feels like you don’t test your product or care about user experience. The new app is confusing and the transition process is bad.The original app was simple. You swipe right, they swipe right, you match, you chat. Completely unnecessaryUpdate: in response to the developers note, if someone says hi, I should be able to see who that was instead of open the app and see the "time for a break" screen. The app was not ready to be released to the public. The creation of this new app is so unnecessary and irritating. Now I have to use two different apps to keep track of dates versus BFF, and the interface is significantly worse than the original app. It's like they're trying to be hinge and failing miserably at it. And I keep getting notifications that someone has said hi even when I have no new messages. And they have a separate section for "reactions" like a 😆 that are not within the actual chat itself. The update limits usersAt first, I thought the update was nice, made it easier so find friends nearby with its new map. However, the update limits you to only being able to use the app once a day. I was only allowed to find matches literally for a minutes then got locked out of any potential matches completely. Are you kidding me??? Why is there no option for premium. If I am limited to only use the app once a day, I feel the need just delete it at this point… It is a shame because I was a premium member. Users do NOT like being controlled and limited on when they can be able use an app. Very disappointing. Not only that, you can’t see who waved at you or even check out any groups. Literally what the heckFirst off, if I block someone, they should not still appear on my “People” page. That defeats the purpose of blocking. Second, bring back filters so I can stop being shown people who live 40+ minutes away. The new design feels clunky and far less user-friendly than before. Bumble BFF worked better in its previous version, and these changes have made the experience frustrating instead of fun. Really disappointed in the direction you’ve taken the app. Update: when I try to “high five” someone, I consistently get an error message that says: “Something went wrong. Massive DowngradeSo much worse than the original bumble bff app. The prompts on the old app were great and helped you get started - on the new app, why can you only do pictures?? Why wouldn’t you have written prompts - you learn way more about a person from the written prompts than a photo dump. The tags are useless IMO. The app says is wants you to build deeper connections, but you aren’t really able to if all you’re able to see about someone is one word tags. Bring back the written prompts!!!! You also aren’t able to search for a group which seems so silly. DisappointedI am very disappointed by this. I understand the “invite only” is most likely due to safety precautions but that makes this app not inclusive. This app was designed for people who want to put themselves out there to meet new people just to be rejected because they weren’t invited to join. Well what about those of us who are wanting to use this app because we don’t know anyone? Where in the world would we get an invite in that case? We wouldn’t. By this app being invite only you aren’t allowing those of us who don’t know anyone yet or have connections to meet people. The old layout was betterI don’t like the way it looks, it’s all confusing. The way the profiles are set seems cheap and there’s barely any character. I liked when they had the options for picking out ways to describe who we are. The old bumble is better, I’m sad to see it go and to lose all my old messages too. There should’ve been a way to migrate everything over. The layout to match with people is okay. Please add filters too. Some people (like me) live on the border of some states and don’t want to match with others that are in different states. Not feeling itI do like the new logo very much but that’s about it. The original BFF was much better. There’s something about this new UI and layout that makes me not want to use it. The profile design is kinda ugly and takes away from the personality by putting all the pics at the top rather than spread out down the profile. I also don’t like how potential matches just sit there, without giving me a choice to match or x. It feels overwhelming and kind of confusing, like nothings happening. I would’ve love to see new features that help push friendships and engagement, new things that maybe stop ghosting but it feels like this new app is a step down. No filtersThis new version of bumble bff is absolutely terrible in that you no longer have the ability to filter by age and distance. Additionally, you can only look at a certain number of profiles a day, but you'll mostly be looking at people who don’t fit your age and/or are too far away. Most of the profiles I saw were a) significantly younger than myself or b) 50+ miles away, completely defeating the purpose of the app. Additionally, you can no longer add your preferences on drinking, smoking, working out or whether or not you have kids, so it’s significantly more difficult to judge potential compatibility. Just confusedTo my understanding, there was some original app that was bought out or something but this new version is underwhelming and missing some vital functions of the original. No filtering. Lots of issuesApp is clearly not working correctly and there’s no way contact support. Very limited and basic support articles, none of which that address the multitude of problems. For example, unlike the old app, this app will not show me anyone in my city or adjacent cities. Filters are virtually useless. I received a weird message saying an inappropriate photo was removed from my profile and I was threatened that my account could be suspended, meanwhile I only had normal photos and none had been removed? You can’t pay for upgraded features. This is just short list compared to allll of the weird issues this app has. Huge downgradeThe original bumble bff app was significantly better than this new version. Even with the latest update, it’s been really difficult to match with people. When you do, it doesn’t show the expiration time anymore, they just randomly disappear. Sometimes I’ll click on the “wave” button which appears to be the new swipe right function, but then their profile will show up again in my feed so it seems like my likes aren’t going through!! There’s no way to find groups to join unless it’s already on someone’s profile and a lot of times, I don’t realize that I’m “passing” on someone simply by scrolling. No longer worth itThis app is a very poor replacement for bumble bff. The layout feels like one long clunky monochrome eyesore. No distinction. You can’t choose distance or age anymore. You have to move the pin around on the map for specific areas & get what you get. You also no longer see who “matched” you. I keep getting notifications about “someone wants to say hi” yet when I wave on people, I get no matches. I think it deletes the stack of likes you have every time you get off the app. I know I’ve missed several matches. You can no longer add prompts, it’s “photo prompts” yet when I try to add it keeps kicking back as “violates community guidelines”. Just terrible. Missing featuresI loved the original app, now I cannot set a distance for how far away these people are and it’s matching me with people who are 2 hours away. That’s crazy. Also I would love to know if the person is religious or political, while these are not defining features some people let these define them and I would like to not interact with certain people. It would also be more aligned to add keywords in an actual database instead of letting everyone type in their own words as it’s not matching me with people who might use different verbiage for the same thing. Hate the changeExtremely disappointed by this merge with Bumble - it’s not even remotely the same app anymore and I have to move my business to a different platform because as others have mentioned, if you want to host a group on here now, it looks like you’re asking people to join a dating/social app they didn’t want to be a part of. Now requires location and contact access.This app was nothing special, but their recent updates are ridiculous. Why do you now need access to my location AND contacts in order for me to log in to an account I’ve been using for months? I’d previously been using Geneva for collaborative work. I LOVED Geneva, it was so functional I’m not sure why Bumble had to make so many random changes to that side of the app. There should be one side where people want to find friends near them, and then the other side is literally just like Geneva and meant for groups. I do not want to create a profile or find friends using the “near me” function, and it’s annoying that I am now forced to, just so I can simply read posts in my bookclub Geneva group. A Downgrade in Every Single Way- No filters…half of the people who show up are either over an hour away from me (despite me living in a city!) OR almost 10 years older than me (I’m in my early 20s and feel like they are at very different points in their life than me) - Pointless gender segregation. I’m a woman with traditionally masculine hobbies…why should I have to label myself as a man just to see other people who actually like the same things as me? That feels so much more important for making a connection than sharing a gender…I will be friends with anyone, male, female or NB if we vibe. - No open groups to join and view. Profiles are clunkier than ever. “Time to take a break!” with no indication of when the timer resets. It’s genuinely worse than BFF. Horrible appI wanted to make new friends and I don’t care if they are male or female. I get frustrated when all I get paired with are gay and bi men. While I have nothing against them, I’m literally trying to make friends but it seems they are using it to find other gay men. They have grinder but I guess this is a grinder alternative. I think the devs should allow people to meet any gender and if they are not comfortable then give the user the option to not show the opposite sex. I’m pretty sure the new app was designed entirely by AI or a product team that has never had a single human interaction before. You can’t filter by distance, age, or interests. Won’t let me see anything?Just tried it out, I was curious how it worked so I scrolled all the way down to see how many people it would show until it gave me a take a break message (fair), so I went back up to actually message a few people and swiped up and triggered a refresh and it removed all the people and and now it’s just a big screen that tells me to take a break. Why can’t I delete chats?A lot of people had mentioned all the annoying problems with this app. My #1 issue tho, is that I can’t delete chats of the people I don’t talk with. I’m stuck with all of these chats that are only taking space and distract me from the ones I really use. Issue #2 is the groups. Why are they hidden? You keep saying groups are a core part of the app, but we are not able to see existing groups. I assume they are coming eventually. Issue #3 is the inability to scroll left or right to see the interest. I was able to see all the interest before even opening a profile. Why was this feature deleted? Issue #4 is the filtering by interest/distance/age. I also assuming is coming with an update. I’m giving two stars because I really like the “wave” feature. Disappointed with changeI came as a new user from Bumble given its bff option will not be available soon and I’m moving to a new city. I likely won’t be using it moving forward given how many limitations exist in the new BFF app. There should be a filter for age and distance as well as to have some way to remove people or at least hide. Instructions for use and navigation are not clear or intuitive, made worse by moving away from features like prompts and swiping that mimicked dating apps that people could pick up on. What Happen?I’ve been using Bumble BFF since I moved to NYC in 2021. I have met some of my best friends on the app, and really have loved it! However, they just made updates and it’s AWFUL. You can’t filter anything, so I’m seeing people who live 2 hours away… or there’s a large age gap. The profiles are very minimum. Be careful, or you’re going to start to lose a lot of business with this new design. It’s been all over Reddit about how disappointing this is. I am hoping if Bumble BFF doesn’t get this situated, another app will be developed that will take its place. Unintentional and Overwhelming’m really disappointed with the new Bumble app. On the old version, I loved being able to filter by age and location, which helped me connect with people who were more similar to me. Now, the new app just shows me basically anyone and everyone, with no real way to narrow things down. On top of that, there’s no “not interested” option anymore, which makes the experience feel frustrating and cluttered. I made so many good friends through Bumble BFF in the past, but with these changes, I honestly don’t see myself using the app anymore. New format is terribleI don't know why Geneva changed their design, but the new format is incredibly tedious and difficult to use compared to the previous version. The ease of switching between rooms and group has vanished and instead is a cumbersome process, with lots of dead space, and an increased difficulty to keep up with notifications, especially when in multiple rooms with many rooms each. You’re going to cost someone a relationshipI originally downloaded Geneva for my college dorm floor group chat a year ago. I probably used it maybe once a month for announcements etc. I haven’t used it lately because I have no need for it and forgot about it. DisappointedI started a hobby group on Geneva several years ago and have met people from all over the world. It was our escape to talk about our hobby and we have become friends with one another. With the acquisition, it looks like it’s being turned into a dating app with photo verification. This was not what we signed up for. Rate limits and no more swiping?I’m really bummed we have to go to another Bumble BFF app. First it was integrated into the Bumble app, then the BFF app was made so we migrated to that, and now we have to move to this. I don’t like that it has a limit for how many people you can like in a day.
