WhatsApp’s not bad at all—it’s actually great for what it does. End-to-end encryption keeps your actual messages and calls private (no one, not even Meta, can read them), and it’s super reliable for texting, voice notes, video calls, groups, and sharing pics/videos across the world without paying extra. Works flawlessly on slow connections, syncs across devices, and the disappearing messages + status features make staying connected fun and easy. Love it for family chats, quick check-ins with friends abroad, and even some work stuff—simple, fast, no ads in chats. But let’s be real: It’s owned by Meta (Facebook), so there are legit privacy dangers. They collect a ton of metadata (who you talk to, when, how often, your phone number, IP address, device info), and that gets shared within Meta for “improving services” or ads elsewhere. Backups aren’t encrypted by default (turn that on!), business chats can feed into Meta’s ecosystem, and features like Meta AI aren’t fully private. Scams/spam groups pop up too often, and if you’re super privacy-focused, it’s not Signal-level secure. Still, for everyday use? It’s one of the best out there—billions trust it daily for a reason. Just stay aware, tweak your privacy settings (disable link previews, limit profile visibility, enable 2-step verification), and use it smart. 4.5 stars—love the app, cautious about the company. I love the app and it’s my main communication method. I just have some ideas that would make the app experience better. 1. It would be useful to have the possibility to filter (as you can do with unread messages) the group chats and individual chats. This would help to find chats easier. 2. The possibility to schedule messages to be sent at a certain time would be a major improvement. This would eliminate barriers created from different time zone as the app is used internationally. 3. Many of us use WhatsApp for everything including social and work related communication. And all chats and group chats are mixed together. It would be good to be able to add a label to chats according to a category. Then, you could filter the categories and find the ones that are under the label selected easily. This could be useful to save time and also to be able to prioritize messages. 4. Connected to the possibility to label chats to custom categories, it would be useful to put a schedule when you can receive messages in each label. Since most of us use the app as a work tool, but also as our main communication method. This creates a problem when trying to disconnect from work. It would be useful to pin chats (and group chats) to a category and be able to put certain schedule to when you can receive messages from each category of chats. This could help a lot to separate work from social life. This are just ideas that I would love to see through and hope the app continues to improve.
I just wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for creating such a fantastic app. WhatsApp has truly revolutionized the way we connect with others, and I’m extremely impressed with the range of features it offers. Here are a few aspects that stand out to me: Seamless Communication: The ability to send messages, make voice and video calls, and share multimedia files effortlessly has made WhatsApp indispensable in both my personal and professional life. End-to-End Encryption: The security features, especially end-to-end encryption, give me peace of mind knowing that my private conversations are safe and secure. User-Friendly Interface: I find the app incredibly easy to use, even for someone who’s not particularly tech-savvy. It’s intuitive, and navigating through it feels natural. Cross-Device Syncing: The ability to use WhatsApp on both my phone and desktop, along with WhatsApp Web, makes managing my messages so convenient and accessible, no matter where I am. Group Chats & Status: The group chat feature is perfect for keeping in touch with multiple people, whether it’s family, friends, or colleagues. Plus, I love being able to share status updates with my contacts. No Cost for Calls and Messages: The fact that WhatsApp allows me to communicate globally for free, as long as I have an internet connection, is something I truly value. That said, I’d love to see more features that can enhance our user experience, such as more customization options for notifications and better management tools for large groups. But overall, WhatsApp has exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to its continued growth and improvements. Thank you for such a reliable and user-friendly app
What will it take to get connected when I make an audio call? Is WhatsApp promises to its patrons as vague and unfulfilling as I have experienced? I would love to give you, WhatsApp, a FIVE STAR rating in all your services, but, NO! When it comes to audio calling, NO! On many occasions, and now regular basis, anytime I have attempted to make an international call , the connectivity has failed completely. It’s either, the person I am trying to reach hears only silence from my side and so is vice vasa when the contact attempts to call be. Each time I have felt like a wounded lion for your let down. Each time I call, a contact, the only communication I se on my screen is , “ connecting ......” and after 30 seconds or so, I am disconnected. Why is it I can never get connection but when I use my private number to call, the same contacts, the connection is superb and I don’t have to run into networking issues and disconnection? I am disappointed and fed up with your poor customer service. To add more injury to my disappointment , today, you interrupted my dialing by asking me to rate your service? This was after I had five attempts to get connection to the same contact I was attempting to call. I have tried different contacts in the same region but I get zero connection from WhatsApp. Please, I urge you to fix the glitch that you have created , but until then, I would prefer to give you a zero rating for your audio calling service. Unfortunately, zero is not among the choices you have. Disappointed and wounded patron.
This app has been central in keeping my family connected. In my community, people often go to school and/or move to live all around the world. When my first daughter went to school in a different hemisphere than the rest of us, we all had to have different passcodes so as to be able to call each other without spending hundreds of dollars, sometimes for even one voice call. In the years before we found WhatsApp, I could only manage to get in touch with family members individually. I certainly couldn’t keep contact day by day - there were too many of them, thank G-d. Now we not only have a family chat, we can have impromptu family video calls. WhatsApp actually saved the life of one of my children, because they were too sick to even know how sick they were, much less call for help. When a sibling discovered what was going on, my children ended up in the hospital for a few days. I don’t have the time or space to describe the incredible asset WhatsApp has been for my family!

I love this app, I basically use it most of the day talking to my friends and family. It is very comfortable and easy to understand, even to make calls and video calls, as well as when posting stories and everything, I highly recommend it. However, I have only had one failure and that is that before most of them had updated the app, I got the "themes" option to change the color of the chat bubble, I had it well decorated, but suddenly it disappeared from my cell phone, I tried to restart it, close the app and re-enter. I have even updated it often; I understand that perhaps because it is new my cell phone does not have it yet, but the truth is that I think it has been a long time and I see that everyone has it except me. I was wondering if they could fix that or know what I have to do. I can even put songs on my stories which is fun haha but I'm a little shocked about the themes.
WhatsApp is one of the most popular and reliable messaging apps in the world, offering a fast and secure way to stay connected with family, friends, and colleagues. Its user-friendly interface makes chatting, calling, and sharing media effortless. The app’s end-to-end encryption ensures privacy, which gives users confidence that their messages and calls are protected. Key features like voice and video calls, group chats, status updates, and file sharing make communication easy and engaging. The recent additions, such as multi-device support, disappearing messages, and community groups, have further improved convenience and functionality. However, WhatsApp could still enhance features like customization options and cloud storage flexibility. Despite minor limitations, it remains one of the best all-in-one communication tools available, suitable for both personal and professional use.
You have a counter and how many words you say it shuts it off that’s about the stupidest thing I ever heard. I can’t talk to anybody. So to give you stars, I’ll give you a -5. That’s how good you guys did this I had my choice. I don’t know where I’d put them. If I could talk to those people that I would’ve told him to switch because there’s no good all you’re trying to do is sell apps That’s what you push so there’s my two sets. If you have any set of you know what you could get a hold of me. It was discussed how I could get this I have a older jailbird texting is hard for me. I like it to be simple like it was the other one. I just got along and figure out how to do it so least I’ve got a person that I talk to all the time that’s in the archives that I can’t bring them out. I don’t know how now I can’t even get to it.
Dear WhatsApp Development Team, I would like to propose the introduction of a “Temporary Group” feature to further enhance the user experience and simplify group management on WhatsApp. Many users create short-term groups for events, projects, or specific occasions. Once the purpose of such groups is fulfilled, participants often hesitate to leave them manually. This hesitation is not only due to social courtesy but also because members may feel that exiting could appear discourteous or hurt the feelings of the group’s creator or admin. As a result, numerous inactive groups remain, leading to cluttered chat lists and reduced overall usability. Proposed Feature: When creating a group, WhatsApp could prompt the user to specify whether it is Temporary or Permanent. If marked as Temporary, the following options could be offered: • Set an automatic deletion time (e.g., after 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month). • Send a reminder notification to all members prior to deletion. • Allow users to archive or export chat data before the group is deleted. This feature would promote a more organized and comfortable communication environment, reduce social awkwardness, and reflect WhatsApp’s continued commitment to user-friendly innovation. It addresses both emotional and practical aspects of group interactions while keeping the platform clean and efficient. Thank you for considering this suggestion. I believe such an enhancement would be widely appreciated by users worldwide. Kind regards, WhatsApp User
I think logging into whatsapp through whatsapp web is missing something very important, which is a reminder that you are logged into another device. There have been multiple instances of people forgetting they’re logged into another device (other than their own), or even other people accessing their phone and secretly logging in, and as you can imagine this is a huge invasion of privacy. Unless someone remembers to go check their linked devices, they could easily forget or be unaware of this. Whatsapp should have something similar to a small constant banner or indication to inform people that theyre logged into another device, and maybe 2 days after logging in, and then every couple of weeks, would have a pop up telling people that they have logged in recently and to check their linked devices. Please implement this update this is very important and would help a lot of people.
This review is about what I cannot do in WhatsApp this is to help you fix it and make it much more better. Well some people can do video call, but why not some of the people? People want to do video calls because it’s much more fun. You can make silly faces and like actually like see each other instead of going to their house and see especially if they’re far away. What’s up needs an improvement make more stuff free and for everyone to do that that’s my review. Oh I only gave four star cause I’m one of the people can’t who can’t do video calls can you do video call? Can I do video calls? You need to read the rest of these review OK no I’m just making a review but it’s important and much more important review. OK it’s an amazing review I like everything about it except that I cannot really do video call make some stuff free like video call. Everyone deserve to have a video call the end. A 101

I have been using WhatsApp for many years now and it has been amazing! This week I have been having issues with the reception and editing feature of pictures and videos I receive. For some reason I can no longer edit, zoom in or play a video or picture I receive through this app, and it was an amazing feature this app had because I work with the app and receive many pictures on a daily basis. I have googled if there have been any bugs reported recently in order to fix this issue, but the only answers I have read talk about a poor Internet connection, resetting my phone and such. I have done all of these and the issue continues. Please let me know if this is a bug, if not, I would have to move my work to a different platform that has these options, without having to download each picture or video in order to be able to edit them. Thank you!!
I made deposit of $800,000 into this broker on 1st December, then I got a call from the account manager telling me about my account and the bonuses I could get if I put in more money. He was really good at convincing (maybe he brainwashed me) | later put $1,786,000 in total. Then I sent all of my verification documents such as proof of address, ID and Bank card detail (I sent without CCV) and Declaration form . Also I received lots of emails from them about verification and activation and etc. During first 3 days which my account was funded and was ready to start; they called me many times to re-invest and increase my amount and I refused cos they got too pushy about it. I figured something was seeing wrong when requested for a withdrawal and was told I had to reach a deposit target before I can make withdrawals. So I couldn't trust them as they changed their word and lasked adviser I want to close my account as my account is verified and it's ready. I already told him I can't put more money and now I change my mind and I want to withdraw my money and close my account. I send lots of email, chat, request, text, call and etc and asked them to call me and explain but nobody answer and reply to me even through email (Used to be emailed straightaway) Now I want to withdraw all of my money but I can't go through my account. THEY NEVER CAME BACK TO ME. TEL, ADDRESS AND COMPANY AND ALL ARE SCAM. Until I was introduced to a recovery agent that helped me out http://t.meMitnickcyberhack ON Telegram
WhatsApp has completely transformed the way I connect with the world, and I couldn’t be more impressed! From the moment you open the app, everything feels seamless, intuitive, and genuinely enjoyable to use. The crystal-clear voice and video calls are nothing short of spectacular — whether I’m catching up with a friend across the street or a family member on the other side of the globe, the quality never disappoints. The end-to-end encryption gives me absolute peace of mind knowing every message, photo, and call is completely private and secure. What truly sets WhatsApp apart is its incredible versatility — sharing documents, photos, voice notes, and even your live location is effortless. Group chats keep everyone connected, while the Status feature adds a fun, creative touch to daily communication. The app is lightning fast, beautifully designed, and refreshingly ad-free, making it a pure, distraction-free experience. Whether for personal conversations or professional coordination, WhatsApp handles it all with grace and efficiency. With constant updates and new features rolling out regularly, WhatsApp only keeps getting better. It’s not just a messaging app — it’s a lifeline that bridges distances and strengthens relationships. Absolutely five stars, without hesitation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
WhatsApp Messenger is so good because it manages to be fast, reliable, and ridiculously easy to use all at the same time, letting you send texts, voice messages, photos, videos, documents, locations, and even make high-quality voice and video calls across the world for free as long as you have internet, while staying lightweight on your phone, syncing smoothly across devices, protecting your conversations with end-to-end encryption, working well even on slow connections, avoiding annoying ads, supporting group chats for friends, family, school, or work, offering handy features like message reactions, status updates, voice notes, read receipts, backups, and disappearing messages, and ultimately making it feel effortless to stay connected with anyone, anywhere, without thinking about costs, complexity, or privacy.
I had a pop up from WhatsApp requesting access to all photos. I can't even remember the last time I used the app (it has been over a year) and at the time the pop up was displayed I was browsing in Safari. Since I didn't expect the pop up I mindlessly clicked Allow and then immediately went into settings to revoke all photos access. WhatsApp should not be requesting access to all photos out of the blue. I'm giving 4 stars because the app worked fine as far as I remember. I wanted to report the issue to WhatsApp but have not found a way to do that so am attempting to let somebody know by writing a review. I'll probably delete the app now though to avoid future occurrences. It makes me suspicious of what it could possibly be doing in the background without my knowledge because I didn't do anything that should result in WhatsApp wanting access to my photos.
Annoying must times, especially after composing a long write up. I’m a writer, and I don’t use WhatsApp fir chats, it just gives me chills to write notes on WhatsApp and sending them to myself for storage.. I tend to write better on WhatsApp as it opens my thoughts to more ideas which is really important.. But most times, after writing down an idea, usually a lengthy instructions or stories, taking hours of My time to adjust it, correcting mistakes and errors, and refining it, then all of a sudden, the app will close and when I reopen it, there will be nothing on my chat box., all my composed and still composing messages will be gone with no trace, and almost as if it was never written.. I’ve experienced this countless times, and sometimes, the amount of frustration is unspeakable. it’s like being ripped off.. having all my hours of work gone because of a glitch that usually occurs only when I’m composing a message. Ideas, books, contracts works, stories, etc.. I’ve lost a them due to this error.. I experienced it again today and it happens to be the worst of all.. Rewriting them is just too frustrating and confusing because even if I rewrite, it will never be as good as the previous one, which What’sApp made disappear.. I usually like writing on WhatsApp, but I guess I’ll just start using notebook or something else.. Just so you’d know, you guys a over rated.. think you’re releasing smarter versions but it’s seems to be the opposite. Your newest versions are always dumber than the previous. Maybe you should stick to being normal instead of claiming smart. It’s pretty obvious.
I am particularly fascinated with WhatsApp because of its versatility and agility as far as social media platforms are concerned. It takes customer privacy and security into great context and go out of their way to protect that customer information from 3rd parties and hackers. I have never heard of a hack or security breach into WhatsApp security systems. Overall the App has been great and has eased the way the world has connected via talking and sharing digital and graphical data. The only downside to WhatsApp is that when you lose your device or are out of storage and uninstall the app, you typically lose all your previous chats and data. I would have been great if WhatsApp had an option for optional storage space for sale, for folk to backup their communication and social media data. Thank you
I would like to humbly suggest an update in the name of users who use Bluetooth AirPods. The microphones on these devices are terrible for recording voice memos. People never understand what I say. It would be good if it were like Instagram. On Instagram, when you record a voice message it utilizes the iPhone mic instead of the AirPod mic even when using the AirPods. When I am having a conversation with someone via voice memos on WhatsApp, I have to turn off Bluetooth, then record my voice memo. After I’m done recording I have to turn Bluetooth back on. It goes on and off indefinitely until I am done with my conversation. So with that it would be awesome if we had the option to turn off the Bluetooth/AirPod mic only in a setting or just update it to be like Instagram where it records on the iPhones mic and only plays back on the AirPods. Thank you so much!!
Thanks WhatsApp team.....
I love WhatsApp so much I would recommend it to everyone I give it 5 star rating for chatting app’s
Please can we get a dark mode for iOS 13 ASAP
I think this app is WONDERFUL! But there is some emojis missing, for exemple the GIRAFFE emoji! Some people like me, love giraffes! So please, can you make an emoji giraffe?
Bring the dark mode in whatsapp too....!!!!!!
WhatsApp Messenger Negative Reviews and Ratings
WhatsApp was what I used when I studied abroad to communicate with friends and family, but I unfortunately the app has so many issues that I refuse to use it even if that means it will be more difficult to communicate with those same friends and family living abroad. The app does provide some privacy in messaging, but based on the updated service agreements, it seems clear that Meta plans to use and train large language models on private messages. Additionally, WhatsApp has a series of issues regarding collecting metadata of its users and having nearly total freedom to monetize that information. I hate the idea of an app that claims to provide private and secure communication that is simultaneously monetizing my data. The app is also filled with scammers. I receive near daily notifications from massive cryptocurrency scam groups adding me to group chats promising “massive returns on my investment.” No matter how many times I report these groups, they just keep popping up. I blame the extraction of all contacts from your phone that WhatsApp uses to help you communicate with others through the app. It’s clear that Meta is doing nothing to address these issues and they continue to violate our data while doing nothing. If I could go back and never use the app in the first place, I would do it in a heartbeat. There other options for communication with family and friends abroad that does not come with the same issues that WhatsApp promises.
Whats app has been the most reliable and best app for as long as touch screens phone have existed. I lived in many countries. Some people even prefer to only have whats app on their phone. Now whats app has media, and channels and it gets connected with facebook ???? No one asked for that. I understand that instagram is getting replaced with TikTok. And threads didn’t do as needed. But now turning whats app into instagram is by far the dumbest move. Telegram will definitely be winning people now. Whats does connecting my whats app account with facebook do to my end-to-end encryption. Whats app is everyone’s number one choice simply cause its simple. A lot of old people and a lot of disabled people even children. Work, teams, companies, organizations use whats app and whats app groups for a simple use. And in countries in Africa, asia, south America… where internet is much slower. Whats app is easy to use as it only uses data for sending and receiving messages. Now it needs data to upload media and what not. There has been a lot of upgrades, that are nice and helpful, but going to the status section is just overwhelming. Having a second related app, like messenger is to facebook would have been a much better idea. It could be a media based application with a totally new way to view and share that media through whats app chat which can be the normal app. I feel like meta is panicking, all these risky changes are extremely overwhelming. And eventually we’ll witness nokia all over again.
WhatsApp is an absolute disaster of an app, and Mark Zuckerberg should be ashamed of what he's turned it into. The platform is nothing more than a data-harvesting machine, stealing every ounce of personal information it can get its hands on. From your private messages to your contacts and location, nothing is sacred. The moment you install WhatsApp, you’ve essentially signed away your privacy, with WhatsApp profiting off your data in ways most people don’t even understand. Let’s not forget that WhatsApp shares your data with advertisers and even other entities within Zuckerberg's empire, constantly bombarding you with targeted ads and influencing your every move. The so-called “privacy settings” are laughable at best—they are intentionally confusing and buried deep within layers of menus, ensuring that most users never have a chance to protect themselves. Zuckerberg and his team have built an empire on the backs of people’s privacy violations, all for the sake of profit. It's no wonder the app is riddled with security issues, invasive tracking, and personal data exploitation. WhatsApp has become more about exploiting its users than providing any kind of meaningful communication. If you're still using WhatsApp, you're essentially handing over your life for free—while Zuckerberg and his company profit off of it. Do yourself a favor: delete your account and find a platform that values your privacy. WhatsApp is a data thief, plain and simple.
The WhatsApp support team absolutely not helpfull!!! I explained my situation that I don’t remember setting a password for end to end encryption. I got this phone back in September and everything was fine I was successfully able to back up everything from old phone to the new phone. All of the sudden my voice messages stopped working on whatsapp(which is WhatsApp’s fault again!)a few days ago. I checked what I can do and it was saying on the whatsapp help website first update the app and if it doesn’t work then uninstall and redownload the app. So I did. Before I did that I backed up all the chats so I don’t lose them. When I redownloaded the app SURPRISE!!! I need a password to get access to my chats. Which password? When was it set it up? Even if it was set by me why absolutely nobody was able to help me to reset it. I could verify my identity, number whatever could possibly be asked for. But instead they kept saying they can’t do it. As a result, I lost all of my chats including the ones from my grandmother who passed away 5 months ago. They were my only voice memories from her. If I didn’t have to use WhatsApp for my work purposes I wouldn’t even bother deleting or redownloading the app. Horrible service! If you can’t reset that password why before I’m deleting the app, the app doesn’t ask me for a password or warn me that when I reinstall it I’m gonna need a password?
Over the weekend, the app began showing a message that required me to update in order to keep using the app. When I try to do so in the App Store, a pop-up message asks me if I want to download to the latest compatible version (since my iOS is too old for the most recent version). I’ve done this several times successfully over the past year. However, this time, when I confirm that I want to download the latest compatible version, it just immediately resets and puts up the same exact message again. It doesn’t matter how many times I click it, it just repopulates and won’t start a download. I understand that WhatsApp will soon no longer be supporting my current iOS (13.3) on my iPhone 7, and they have given previous pop-up messages warning of this; however, these warning messages clearly stated that the ceasing of support would begin in “May” of 2025. As I write this, it is only the begging of March, 2025. I should have at least 2 more months of time with which to migrate my use of WhatsApp to a newer, currently supported device. Instead, I am effectively locked out of the app, so I have no way of backing up my messages or transferring them. Please provide a fix for this. I have used WhatsApp happily for many years, and I would like to keep doing so.
For some reason my account got shut off got blocked at it. I broke the privacy sending and I don’t understand how this happened. I didn’t send any inappropriate things or anything like that and I try to get an explanation try to call no number available I try dumb to email them. It’s been over five days and like they did review but they wouldn’t explain to me what I did wrong or nothing that’s no kind of evidence I try like ask him or show me what I did wrong they wouldn’t just block my account and I tried reaching them many times and they don’t respond or give me what reason why they blocked my phone number and I never got in trouble ever I don’t send inappropriate things and I’m trying to have them explain what the reason was why they did it, and they never gave me an answer and I can’t call customer service. I’ve been waiting a week so and they can explain why he just said I broke the policy but they wouldn’t tell me what the reason and evidence are for me to respond and Naika. I wonder if they just do this to random people just take their account block without any evidence so anyway to communicate what the reason force so they can you know I’m defend themselves, so I wonder if they just do that and try to take the information and we can’t do anything about it! If my account got hack or anything maybe why send inappropriate but I try getting explanation and they won’t respond and been over week and just seems like they shut me down for no reason or with evidence just say broke the terms but didn’t give reason why or what did and evidence and let me respond
I just recently got a new phone number and as any normal person would decided to transfer my contacts to my new phone, so I decided to obviously send people messages to reach out to them so that they would be informed about my new phone number. Although the texts where something like “hi this is my new number” they weren’t long or spam as they were individually typed and adjusted to different conversations depending on who I was reaching out to. After about five people I wrote to I got a message saying I was restricted and could not make any more texts to my other contacts and I should contact them in case of it being a misunderstanding. Which I did, because I thought maybe they would understand my situation if I where to explain it, but oh surprise when they only had an ai automatic response that not only was it not useful but told me I was abusing and spamming people. Initially, although I thought it was definetely not great I thought well maybe six hours isn’t that bad, but that was at like 9 am this morning and somehow now at like almost 6 pm I still have 6 hours of restrictions and when I try to talk again to ask what’s happening not only do they give me no answer, but they basically ignore my problem and try to ask what’s wrong again.
I was trying to set up what’s app so that all of the bridesmaids and bride can have all of the resources in one place for the bachelorette party and wedding (and also have chats outside of normal texting). I went to add a group called “Bach chat without the bride” so that we can discuss surprises for the bride with other bridesmaids and then got auto banned. I repealed that and got my account reactivated with an apology for the app incorrectly auto banning me, and so I went to add the group again as it wasn’t saved from before. Then boom- auto banned immediately again. I’m not using any bad words or anything, so the only thing I can seem to think is I’m getting banned for a new account adding more that one group right away. How are we supposed to use this when we keep getting incorrectly auto banned multiple times in the span of 12 hours… going to have to move all of our stuff to a different chat because this app is worthless. As an update, I’ve been auto banned 4 times in less than 48 hours with no explanation as to why I keep getting banned. Another update- it’s been a week and I’ve been banned 7 times in that week. I’ve tried contacting support in all the ways I can find and no one has bothered to reach out to me. I’m deleting the app and using something else because this app is garbage.
I am trying to create a community where I give free education to students who dont have access to quality resources and created a community from WhatsApp for communication purposes with the teachers but turned out to be a big mistake. I got their phone numbers from google forms, saved them as contact but first time I try to add 10 teachers, 6 hour ban, try only sending invites also banned after 10 invites next day I also try the same thing, banned completely, I can’t use WhatsApp from my number now. Like cmon you guys make millions every year but don’t got the money to add proper spam filters? Like the effort you put in to prevent 1 to 2 spams a person will receive makes the community future completely useless. I am really disappointed and this cost me to delay my starting date by 5 days. I hate whatsapp you guys system is so stupid you let me create a community but then ban me when I try to add people in it. I hate WhatsApp this is so stupid if you cant handle it then dont do it this doesnt make any sense. I try to add people who filled out google form and gave constent to be added tp the group but then whatsapp doesnt do anything like I am so mad you guys just ban me and delay my organizations launch for weeks like cmon you should be doing better! I hate it and am so mad!
It cost me a lot of money buying new numbers although I do have 2 contact of my friends I’m contacting them that’s all and every number I buy I get logged out directly when I try to text them or call them and then banned my number I thought there is a bug in the app because no way I will get banned without a reason for contacting my friends only !? I never contacted any strangers at all or do anything against their terms I’m contacting only 2 of my friends that’s it i spent a lot of money buying new numbers because I thought the problem was with number never come cross my mind that this issue which harm me a lot was from WhatsApp itself they are the one keep banning me with out any reason !??? This banned policy should be stopped immediately if anyone is annoyed it’s enough to block and that’s it no need to banned users for contacting their friends and no reason to banned anyone who get one block of one report from any hater!!! Reports and blocks should not be less than 5 or 10 to make sure these guys are doing something wrong not one single block or report from any angry friend or hater cause the harm on all my devices and can’t use WhatsApp it’s not my fault I didn’t never ever do anything wrong or against the term this is can’t be done it’s impossible who will get my money back !?? It cause me a lot of money buying numbers thinking there is a bug or the numbers are not working and at the end I discover it’s from the WhatsApp app them self banning me with out any reason!!! For what I want to know it’s my right to know why !?? And who? If there is anyone do it ??? Stop this banned policy right away
I have always, always been loyal to using WhatsApp because it’s been the most reliable application, it connects me within the USA to friends overseas…. However, for months and months; nearly a year no notifications ever come through. I have to keep the app open in order to have a conversation with friends and family members. This has cost me an enormous amount of pressure on my phones battery and also data consumption… I did everything that googles AI recommended… I have shut off notifications and shut my phone off for a few minutes, then I turn it on and allow notifications again… doesn’t fix the issue. I went as far as deleting the app and data via chat backup and when reinstalled it still does not fix the issue. I know it’s not my iPhone because my new Moto Razr is also not receiving any notifications either. It would be absolutely amazing if someone within your IT dept. can try and fix this. I am no longer able to rely on WhatsApp. I’m sorry it was always an amazing application; but the last 7 months this is continuing even during every update. Please WhatsApp help us all. I read all review and many of your subscribers are facing the same exact issues. Kindly, B O’Connell
WhatsApp has become an essential communication tool, but some of its privacy features—like hiding online status and disabling read receipts—create more confusion than clarity. While these options are often marketed as privacy controls, they can easily lead to misunderstandings, overthinking, and unnecessary anxiety in conversations. When people cannot tell whether a message has been seen or whether someone is simply “offline,” it opens the door to misinterpretation and mental stress. In many cases, these features don’t just protect privacy—they also enable avoidance and ambiguity in communication. If someone feels the need to hide their activity or responses from others, it raises the question of why they are connecting with those individuals in the first place. Honest and transparent communication should be the foundation of any interaction. If there is something to hide, perhaps it’s better not to engage with those people rather than creating an environment of uncertainty and confusion. Ultimately, communication platforms should encourage clarity, not ambiguity. Features that obscure basic interaction signals may unintentionally harm trust and well-being rather than enhance user experience.
I recently downloaded WhatsApp for my school and joined a couple group chats. In these groups, I sent a few messages, none of which were inappropriate. However, each time I sent a chat, I was restricted from using WhatsApp within the hour. This was very frustrating for me because I reviewed the terms of use and did nothing to violate them. I appealed for a review each time and was able to get back in to my account, but it was only a matter of time before I was restricted again. I had WhatsApp for about 5 days before it banned my account fully, which I knew did not make sense because I had done nothing worth being banned. When I reached out to customer support for help, they sent me back the same AI message each time and would not escalate the issue to a human. I understand that systems have flaws and AI is not perfected, but I am very frustrated with how WhatsApp’s customer support is designed. It is very unprofessional and I do not believe that WhatsApp sees the issues within its system. I do not want to leave a poor review because I was enjoying using WhatsApp for the short time I had it, but I believe everyone should be made aware of this problem, and I hope the developer will see my message and work to fix the system.
Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook, Instagram, Threads, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Workplace (Meta). When Mark doesn’t get his way and can’t come up with the technology to rival more successful platforms, he spends hundreds of millions on super PACs to manipulate politicians who aren’t as familiar with tech into believing whatever ridiculous notion he’s concocted. In 2020, when his former intern created a more advanced, creative, and appealing platform, he tried to buy it, and his offer was declined. Instead of being a big boy and striving for a solution to make his platforms competitive, Mark tricked most of the House of Representatives members into thinking that our beloved TikTok was a threat to national security. The irony is that Mark himself has been caught selling user data multiple times, which is what he claimed the superior application was doing. This man is vile, devious, and downright pathetic; Mark thought he fooled the general public as well. Thankfully, we aren’t as ignorant and blind as he’d hoped; he felt the masses would return to his platforms. We are waking up to the mass manipulation of the mega-wealthy, the politicians, and their combined efforts to pull the wool over our eyes. There was a blockbuster hit about Mark stealing ideas and technology from his roommates in college. The time is up on this man stealing, conspiring, and cheating his way to the top.
This is really useless. I've used it before and came back to WhatsApp to see if the image creation feature had improved, but honestly, it's just as useless. It forgets the things I ask for, which at first I thought were just minor errors because it's something new in the app. But now that I'm using it again, I'm really frustrated. I'm writing this because, with all due respect, if you're going to put an AI in WhatsApp, at least make it functional for what it allows in the app. It seems like it has Alzheimer's. It's not like Bing, which sometimes frustrated me too, but at least the images turned out better. Even though Bing has a word limit, which is its only downside. And honestly, I think Meta AI sometimes not only creates unpleasant images that don't match what the user asked for, but it also gives incorrect information. Some friends tested Meta AI against other AIs, and Meta AI was the worst or one of the worst. So, please, I enjoy creating images, at least until I learn to draw, even though I do it for fun when I'm bored. But please, at least improve the image creation feature and make real improvements. Thank you, for read this review.
Compared to other free messaging apps, this may be the most boring and even irritating one available. Here are just some of the problems I had with this piece of under-deveolped garbage: 1. There’s a very limited time during which you can delete your messages for the other party after you send them. I can’t even see why this option should not be always available. 2. Even if you’re luck and do get the chance to delete your sent message, Whatsapp still informs the receiving party that you have deleted your message! If I‘d wanted him/her to know this, I wouldn’t delete my message in the first place! 3. Old messages go out of reach after some time and there comes a stupid pop-up that says “request the other participant in this chat to send the message again!” Why?! Obviously in many cases this would be a ridiculous thing to ask. 4. Voice messages are so troublesome. As an example, you cannot play them with a faster/slower speed or while you’re in another chat. And there are a lot of other stupid problems with music/voice files. 5. Working with other file formats can get even more frustrating. It seems that the developers had only one function in mind: sending and receiving plain text messages and nothing more. 6. You virtually can’t have access to the app only via your PC or laptop. There is a Web version but it required you to stay connected with the app on your phone! It’s really ridiculous. 7. You cannot use this crappy app on any other device. You’re limited to just one phone at a time.
I have over the last 2 weeks made a community with 483 members of an organization. I could not invite them via link because it is a very private community and we don’t want the link then shared with others. The ability to turn on “admins can only add new members” is useless when sharing the link. Since it can be then shared after they have it to join! So dumb! And there is currently no community wide “admin approval” to join the community itself. But there is individual group admin approval but please tell me why I’d like to sit there and approve the same person to join 45 different groups. If we get up to 1,000 members that would be 45,000 individual approvals. Change the system make it so i can share the link for easy joining but still retain community wide approval if the link gets shared with someone not on the member list. I’m now banned for 24hrs the second time not for adding people directly but for sending them direct invites on WhatsApp. People who are in my contacts but we have never chatted on WhatsApp. Do better this should be easier with less headaches. Especially if people are accepting the invites!!!
I’ve found WhatsApp to be increasingly unreliable, especially when it comes to account security and customer support. My account was compromised last year, and despite reaching out to WhatsApp multiple times, all I’ve received are automated emails with no real solutions or follow-up. No one ever personally contacted me to assist in recovering my account. What’s most concerning is how easy it seems for hackers to gain access to your account, contact list, and any other information linked to your WhatsApp. This app appears to be set up in a way that leaves users extremely vulnerable, giving unscrupulous individuals the ability to take over accounts without any meaningful way to trace or stop them. Unlike other platforms such as Facebook, which offer more visible layers of protection and recovery options, WhatsApp seems to lack both accountability and a reliable security infrastructure. Until they make serious improvements, I strongly caution anyone considering downloading or using this app. It simply doesn’t feel safe, and it seems like WhatsApp doesn’t care enough to protect its users.
Please bring back the send and receive sounds within the app I do not mean the notifications you can configure. I mean that ones we have always had when you are sending messages back-and-forth with the person. They’re used to be a sound for when they sent you a message, and you had the app open. This has been removed in one of the many updates. This app has gotten in the past few months. This is extremely annoying for visually impaired people like me. If some people. Don’t like this You should just give them the option to turn it off, or keep it on, if they like. Please bring this option back. I know they’re other alternatives to WhatsApp like telegram, but I don’t really want to do that. I am not asking for much. Just give us the options. We had sense. Forever. I’ve been using this app for over six years and never once had a problem like this. This app is all about communication, and I cannot communicate properly because by the time I am done. Typing my response. I have 2 or 3 new messages
I have an iPhone 11 ProMax, it happened for the first time over a month ago I was in what’s app it froze and even the app window wasn’t able to be closed, I manually force restarted the phone and when the Apple logo came on the screen it never shut off or booted up again past that point. Fir two three four days no matter what tricks from online I used I was unable to get the phone to get off that screen if it had power. I reported to Apple and had to have a new phone sent. Two weeks after having the new one finally having everything finished redone loaded and the phone basically back to normal within my back up almost fully on the phone, still a bunch of apps not yet downloaded I’m in what’s app and without thinking the same thing happens in what’s app and I quickly do a hard reset, this time with a brand new phone, and the same exact thing happened. I got LOCKED OUT of my brand new phone and only a glowing white Apple logo never turning off and never moving past that screen. Nothing would work and eventually I was with Apple support able to reset the phone however even the Apple supervisor wasn’t able to lead me through the correct sequence steps I had to do an alternate version that ended up allowing me to reset the phone. I’m giving what’s app one start because while I love the app this caused me to not only loose my research data one but just as I was sitting down to back up my data a second time onto a hard drive this happened again. And I was very hard on Apple when on the phone however the technical Vice President of the call center clearly started that this was not a issue within the phone but within what’s app. I am uninstalling reinstalling and updating the app as the new one is available. I pray to the tech data phone gods this doesn’t happen again.
I’ve used WhatsApp for years - I used to travel a lot and it was great for group texts to my family back home and maintaining contact with my international friends. Recently I’ve been trying to use it as a group messaging tool for volunteers at my job - and I have had to submit a review request THREE TIMES because I have been banned for adding my OWN contacts (both in my phone and they have WhatsApp) to a group message with less than 30 people in it. When my review has returned that I’m a real human being, I would be able to add one more contact to the group before being banned again. When I send an email to try and get help on this, I’m told that I just need to submit a request for review in the app… which obviously hasn’t solved the problem the last 3 times so I’m unsure why it’s the only solution. Currently about to look for alternatives, which is sad bc WhatsApp has always been tried and true. But when it’s frustrating and there’s no hope in solving the problem.. it is what it is. 👎🏻
I just got a new phone and a new US phone number I downloaded WhatsApp on my new phone. All my contacts were still there but my chat histories were gone. I used WhatsApp how I would normally use it. There were no chats on the main screen of my WhatsApp, I clicked on the contact of one of my friend’s to chat with and it created a completely new chat (therefore there was now one chat on my mainscreen). Normally whenever someone changes their phone number, it just notifies the other person that the person has changed their phone number. But in my case, it just created a whole new chat with the person. After I texted with 3 people with my new phone (only 3 chats were on my WhatsApp mainscreen), I got a “banned for spamming” message on my screen. After around 10 hours, they said I could reactivate my account. I put in my phone number and just as I was writing my display name, I received another ban. Now I just got my account back a second time so hopefully the same error doesn’t happen! I’m really upset by this and I hope WhatsApp manages to fix it.
During my recent travel to a foreign country, WhatsApp shockingly suspended my phone number without any valid explanation. As we're aware, in many parts of Europe and Latin America, businesses rely heavily on WhatsApp for customer communication. In fact, I was explicitly advised by the hotels in Peru to use WhatsApp as the primary means of contact during my stay. Right in the midst of providing crucial information to the hotel for my pickup arrangement, WhatsApp abruptly disabled my number. I promptly submitted a review request to reinstate my number, but to my utter dismay, WhatsApp not only failed to address the issue but completely banned my number! I found myself stranded in the remote mountains of Peru, desperately needing to contact the hotel for pickup. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't answer my phone calls, and I couldn't communicate in the local language. To make matters worse, this happened just as the sun was setting. The timing of WhatsApp's arbitrary number suspension couldn't have been more disastrous, leaving me in a state of extreme distress with no means of reaching the hotel.
I love using this app & glad that I can chats with my family and friends through this app. Recently, WhatsApp came up with two kind of features related to disappearing messages. (1) you can change the setting of disappearing messages on individual chats where WhatsApp gave both parties to turn it off and on option. (2) Default disappearing messages: For this option you can go to privacy and turn on and off disappearing message to the all the chats. In this setting I don’t like the part that the person who has turned on the disappearing messages from privacy can only turn off whenever they want. It was fine when both parties can change the settings of disappearing messages but now WhatsApp came up with a default disappearing messages where only one person have the access of it. The person who has sets up as default disappearing messages can turn it off and on but other person can’t change the setting. Isn’t it unfair? What if the other person wants to keep the chats? They can’t even turn off because they have sets up as default. This is so unfair I guess WhatsApp need to give the access of turning on and off to the both parties not the only one. Anyone can make fool to “The other parties” after 24hrs by saying that they haven’t received a messages but in reality they have turn on the setting of disappears messages from their privacy. And many of not know about this settings. I think WhatsApp shouldn’t give the option as default disappearing messages. “As a message sender or receiver I have my all rights to keep my chats and delete wherever I want but by myself, not the other person who has sets up setting as default disappearing messages.” I think WhatsApp needs to remove that feature or come up with the solution where both parties are satisfied with the disappearing option. I hope you understand my point and take actions towards my complain. Thank you.
Firstly, I would like to express my preference of the status updates to be organized vertically. I can’t understand for the life of me, WHY do you think you have to change it. This format is more intuitive and user-friendly, and I believe many users share the same sentiment. If you did a survey, you’ll find that the vertical arrangement is mostly preferred. Additionally, I would like to suggest an IMPROVEMENT for the status updates. It would be INCREDIBLY useful if users could go back and edit their statuses to correct any grammatical errors or typos. Currently, the only option is to delete the whole post and start over again, which can be quite frustrating and inconvenient. On a positive note, I absolutely love the new feature that allows longer videos on statuses. Makes posting more enjoyable. I also love the ability to edit and correct grammatical errors in chat and the ability to delete messages in a chat. These are fantastic changes. Thank you for considering this feedback!
It's a shame to hear that your long-standing experience with WhatsApp is taking a turn for the worse. As someone who has been there since the early days, you've witnessed its evolution, and it's understandable that recent changes feel like a step backward. The frustration of once-reliable features becoming problematic is definitely a pain point. It's particularly annoying when updates, which are usually intended to improve functionality, end up introducing new issues or making the app clunkier. And the PC app just flat-out not working? That's a significant disruption, especially when you rely on it for seamless communication across devices. Vague error codes only add insult to injury, leaving you with no clear path to resolution. It sounds like WhatsApp might be losing some of the simplicity and reliability that made it so appealing in the first place. Hopefully, they'll address these issues in future updates and get things back on track for loyal users like yourself.
Firstly I’d like to commend u guys for creating such a fantastic updated version by including voice notes recording to WhatsApp status, to be honest it’s so good. But it’s got few bugs and you’ve got to fix them; 1) once I go offline and I get back online I won’t see any status that was posted while I wasn’t online and it’s heartbreaking especially for business owners like us, we post goods available for sale and most of our customers are unable to see them and patronize us because they were not online the moment we updated our status. 2) As a business owner I have lots of contacts of customers but due to the traffick on the app my WhatsApp hangs really bad I find it difficult to post on my status and if atall I try to it take up to 1hr before my post finally get uploaded. Pls this is really frustrating pls fix it before I start considering abandoning WhatsApp for another social media app that doesn’t glitch. Thank you.
Giving 3 stars, only because overall, I love WhatsApp…, but this is simply unacceptable. I am part of a large conservative group of people who is on the verge of getting rid of Whatsapp altogether. Some already have deleted their WhatsApp. This is all taken place since the “channels” were put on the WhatsApp home screen. I was determined to ignore the channels as they were simply an annoyance to me, and kind of in the way of viewing the daily updates of my friends and family. They were an annoyance, but one I could put up with, in exchange for the convenience and enjoyment of having Whatsapp as an option for communication. But then today I came on, and there was an unavoidable pornographic channel right in plain sight. I wasn’t able to find how to delete it either. Unfortunately that crosses a line for me, and many, many others in my life. If you don’t make a change, maybe in the content you allow on the channel icons/cover pics or the placement of the channels altogether within the app, I fear, I may need to follow the course of the many gone before me. Please consider moving Channels off the screen with an option to go to it whenever the user pleases, but only when they choose. Even better though, would be to have much higher standards for what you allow your channels to place as their cover photo. Thank you so much for your consideration!
Hello whatsapp team. Can you remove the feature of not seeing the person online ! As this feature is misleading and not good for relationships and it caused me many problems why you dont let the other person see when the person is online while chatting this was the worst update you have done. Also why dont you add a feature for stopping people from sending voice messages as i dont prefer voice messages. Your only focus is to add features for people to hide o WhatsApp! You lost the main purpose of WhatsApp as it is a chatting application in which i have the right to know if the person is online or not and if they read my messages or not! Why you give a chance for people to mislead others on this application why you add deactivated for people to hide . Why dont you hide your application forever so we find a better one to use instead of an application that causes problem between couples.
What was once a wonderful secure platform is fast becoming a laughingstock ever since it was touched by Facebook. So thoroughly disappointed. Relatives abroad had told me that Facebook is phasing out WhatsApp but demands that we give them all our contact details; I’m not for that. Apparently, In the UK, WhatsApp was given customers until the first week of February before they close an account if the customer refused to except terms to the detriment of customer privacy. Now there is a delay to this change? It’s still going to happen so why the delay? Could it be that this delay is to collect our information anyway without a permission, anyway? I have now started looking for a replacement to WhatsApp. I am sorry to be parting company with you but it isn’t the secure independent platform it once was and the quality has progressively deteriorated. To be honest, if I could opt for zero stars that would be the level at this point. I’ve been trying to speak to others over the platform but I’ve spent more time trying to reconnect or redial and it’s just not worth it. Another competitor bows out.
Zero stars for forcing us to share data with Facebook. Switching to Signal after 10+ years with WhatsApp. What a shame!
Simple: my data is mine. You forcibly make me disclose it to serve your business model? I’m not a vehicle to make you more money. Everyone - use “signal” if you want an iMessage alternative.
It works fine. But where’s dark mode? Surely it can’t take this long to implement it? The app sticks out like a sore thumb.
It’s not new for any social media app for Data collection but, whatsapp should have give a option to opt that it didn’t.
After I had to accept them getting my contact info, locations and all that stuff I deleted it. I’m not on any social media platform except for Signal now. At least Signal stays encrypted and doesn’t want my info.
With this new and stupid decision to crap on our privacy. Goodbye WhatsApp and goodbye Facebook altogether
Whatsapp is selling your data and using your private chats and photos for god knows what delete it and move to signal NOW
Facebook's privacy policy is incrementally getting worse and eroding user trust. I don't wany personal messaging to be used for Facebook's advertising or their shady agenda of political manipulation.
Please comment on new privacy regulation. Why so much sharing of information feel like our messages, data, all the information is not safe on whats ap.
Compromising personal data without consent.
Monolithic companies like this must be shut down. No reason for a user to trust them anymore.
Support iOS 13 dark theme.
Lots of updates every week for nothing, this is the same app since beginning. Don’t update it anymore if you do not have absolutely nothing to update.
Switching to better alternatives like Signal. Whatsapp and it’s connection to Facebook’s deal with Jio in India supports those that oppress of minorities - this is not something I can support.
I’m a what’s app user since 2012. I’m uninstalling now bcz they trying steal my data and share with Facebook. Don’t install this app.
I’m annoyed that WhatsApp data is being shared on Facebook, some of us like privacy what kind of nonsense is that.
WhatsApp is no longer viable for privacy purposes. They’re going to start collecting your metadata as of Feb 2021.
The new policy change has user data shared with Facebook. I suppose it was inevitable, but a hard pass for me. Uninstalled.
Was great, but sharing data with Facebook is a no from me.
With the addition of their updated policy where they sell all user info to their daddy Zucky, Whatsapp/Facebook are now the worst app an individual can have. Absolutely disgraceful
Where is dark mode? Why is it not compatible with ios native dark mode and why does the app not have an in app dark mode toggle? Did Whatsapp miss the global memo?
Cannot send SMS to my phone. This really deserves O stars
I uninstalled the app. I don’t want to share anything from WhatsApp to Facebook.
New updated.. I cannot receive missed call notification...
Owned by Facebook so you know they’re spying on you.
The latest update will harvest all your personal data to facebook
Please bring in options to run two accounts on 1 phone as the phone is dual sim itself
Thanks to the new privacy policy, we are done with the most boring messengers app in the world!
This app seriously needs the option for dark mode. How does it not already. Please update this app to have it. It took apple a long time to finally develop a dark mode option yet it’s taking even longer for this app. It’s almost 2020, get with the times.
Apple has introduced dark mode in iOS 13. Pls implement dark mode functionality in WhatsApp too that can get controlled by the OS level feature.
Great and amazing experience until the new privacy policy comes in effect which gonna snatch privacy Starting switching to other app
It is not secure
I don’t want to share my data with, I’ll be moving to signal
Unfortunately, cannot continue given the new privacy terms coming into effect on Feb 8th.
I don’t want you to share my data with any other app, I am going to uninstall your app!
Asks for far to much personal information.
The new privacy policy requires every user to share their data with Facebook and they don’t have an option to opt-out! We have the right to decide what data we want to share and what we don’t! I know WhatsApp is a very widely used application but what Facebook is doing is not right!
On the 8th of Jan 2021 Facebook changed the terms of service for existing users with a popup that went no way to describing the massive data grab (Facebook now have access to your contacts, numbers etc) that users were promised wouldn’t happen when they acquired the app.
If you want to share all your data with Facebook and their partners go ahead. I’m deleting this. It’s your information, don’t be the product. There are better, more secure apps.
No longer face the option to block Facebook from sharing data with WhatsApp. No longer using this app. Breach of privacy
No privacy
This app has disconnected my account more than 10 times in the last 2 days. Very inconvenient and I can't seem to figure out why it's doing so. My chat background images have also been reset so I'm guessing it was from a recent update but I didn't get any notifications.
Current version is crashing to Home screen repeatedly.
I don’t even use Facebook and don’t want them to have any of my info....ever!
Your latest update notes should read "major spying flaw patched" instead of talking about stickers....
