My dear son David upgrade my Phone over the weekend. It was getting to old n I was having problems with it. So, I have been learning the new “techniques” n experimenting with it. I ran into TREAD’s so, I was able to sign into it n I’m having a ball with it!! The little histories, the games, etc. I usually don’t spend much time in the media, just time to talk with my children n a few friends n Nature. I love children, animals n flowers. They make me happy… I laugh.., sometimes cry… I wish I had the means to help so many children with needs as well as so many dogs n cats n horses.. even the most insignificant butterfly when I very carefully I was able to kind of fixed her broken wing.. So it was very interesting to know Elon a little better, to know, to learn, what a loving father he is. I want to take the opportunity to thank Mr. Musk, a BIG HUGE THANK YOU, for having taken the decision in helping dear President Donald J. Trump. What a loving boy he is, donating n dedicating so much of his busy time to the President in our behalf. For the good of this country n in a long run, for the world!! GOD BLESS HIM and his lovely family. I don’t know what would have been of this Nation if Mr. Trump would’ve been elect it. But thanks for the love, trust, wisdom n perseverance, not just of the smart people in his followers BUT for ALL the other like Elon that recognise the UNIQUE person, with that heart of gold that is Mr. D. Trump. I have been one of his must loyal followers since that famous day he n dear Mrs. Trump came down the scalates at the Trump Towers. So, finally once more, we got him into the WHITE HOUSE!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!❤️🇺🇸
I’m loving being able to post replies on X. I originally got the app so I could follow top ranking Republicans and see what they were exactly posting without the rules of Twitter. I’m an independent voter and I vote for who I think wants the best for the American people. We were formed as a country that was founded on governance by the people for the people as our Constitution says. What’s happening in the Government right now is the opposite of what was intended when this country was founded and it needs to stop! The only way to do that is for the people to band together and do what must be done to right the wrong that was made ASAP. We all need to write, call, and email all of our representatives and tell them what we want them to do and then hold them accountable for their actions! Trump and his appointees are decimating America and using lies, illegal tariffs, illegal border controls, and illegal military operations against American citizens and they need to be impeached immediately and then a new vote should be taken to ensure that the President is going to fix what previous President Trump has done to this country and abroad before the world joins together to eradicate the US!
The further we traverse into the controversial territory of AI Democracy, failing to understand with full transparency the ways in which the internet has been shaping the world, the more we feel that we’ve completely lost control. What do data centers change about the “game”? Weights. Influence. The ability to control the quantum devices that have organized our lives for some time. The people with the secrets are gaining extraordinary power, and if they’re not happy, or well organized (mentally), if they have hate and destruction in their schemas, they will continue to press us down this weary path of woe. What is needed is for the bad people to look inward, and to listen to those who are in pan. If they help raise the low, the low will know them to be kind and wise. Then perhaps, if they are good, they may survive a terrible assault. The rest of the world is full of violent impulses. Threads feels relatively safe.
I like the app but what really drives me crazy about it is first of all you just don’t know if someone is sending a message to you or someone else because I see a bunch of people answering the same post !!! Unless they send you a private message . And another thing is that the app keeps sending you the reminders of the same posts over and over again , several times a day !!! This is very annoying , frustrating and not necessary at all !!! One notification would be enough , maybe a second reminder but not 5 reminders every single day !!! If I want to open the post I will do it when I want to do it and I don’t need to be reminded every couple of hours of every single day !!! I just can’t stand it anymore and I am actually considering deleting this app because it’s so aggravating !!!
The most Deleted app in the world this app is a dating site or is it like a photo forum mixed in with stupid emotions nobody cares about because it seems too complicated I mean seriously everything is so hard getting used to that this app seems like they were trying to hard to kick a Facebook dating on Instagram and they flood our facebooks and instagrams with notifications about people who follow your threads; even when you delete the app. it’s so annoying it’s like Facebook/insta is trying to hard to keep people on this app in all honesty it is like a cheating lover who keeps in touch because she wants to be friends with your sister and she that won’t let go. that’s what it is making me feel like if someone directed me on how to use this app I would be more satisfied and the look of it’s format isn’t that great either.

App is easy to use and has a slick design. While most social sites, including Meta’s other subs, have continued to crowd platforms with bells and whistles that are “good to have” but “not needed” - threads has kept things functional while also adding certain beta features in background that seem to be promising (fediverse). Enabling user to not be restricted is right move imo. The character limit per thread window seems to not sit well with others but I understand that’s likely limited due to vertical screen real estate available. 3.5-4 stars bc despite loving the platform it’s still it’s not competitive to my knowledge on a payout structure. This should be available to every user. I don’t even have the option to monetize and my follower base is close to 50,000 users across meta companies. Threads would be one of my top three platforms currently if they : 1) make profit share structure competitive; and 2) make path to becoming eligible understandable (in layman’s terms and not buried in layers of docs - we’re not attorneys) Overall good experience thus far besides being banned and Threads removing my ability to like or comment for a few days. I was sent a notification that my account had been compromised when it had not been. A few other things but running out of time. Okay until next time.
It would be nice if they figured out the # thing .. and when I post it’s like I’m talking to myself .. just seems pointless. Coming from IG’s “follow the leader” culture, with the whole assigning a number based on when a person made an account, the whole thing feels forced, and not being able to delete it without deleting IG is wild. Feels like being held against your will. Plus they know people would delete it. There are a ton of bots, specifically porn or sexual promo bots. They leave most of the comments I see once I scroll past the real people. I feel like it will be better later but they might have jumped the gun with this. With all those “great” minds working for the company .. you’d think they’d try to create something new instead of just making an off brand twitter.
Threads is a clean and easy-to-use social media app focused on real-time conversations and sharing thoughts. The interface is minimal, smooth, and beginner-friendly, making it enjoyable to scroll and post. One of its biggest strengths is seamless integration with Instagram, allowing users to quickly connect with existing followers without starting from scratch. The app is fast, responsive, and offers a distraction-free experience with fewer ads compared to other platforms. It’s great for casual discussions, trending topics, and building a community in a simple way. However, there are still several limitations. The app lacks some important features like strong content discovery, advanced search, and full customization options. It can also feel limited compared to other social platforms, especially for users who want more control and features. Additionally, users sometimes experience bugs such as feed refresh issues, slow loading, or occasional crashes. Fake accounts, bots, and moderation issues can also affect the overall experience. Overall, Threads is a promising and enjoyable app with a strong foundation. With more features, better stability, and improved content discovery, it has the potential to become one of the top social media platforms.
Threads, an app renowned for its unique features, has gained significant popularity and emerged as a preferred choice among users. Offering a range of advantages, Threads stands out as a superior platform. One notable aspect is its emphasis on fostering intimate and focused conversations, allowing users to create private groups and establish genuine connections. Moreover, Threads excels in content curation, providing personalized recommendations based on individual interests and preferences, resulting in a more tailored and enriching user experience. The app's intuitive design and seamless interface further contribute to a smooth and enjoyable browsing experience, setting Threads apart as an innovative social media platform. With its distinct features and user-friendly approach, Threads is redefining the landscape of microblogging and gaining recognition as a prominent contender in the realm of social media.
The app offers nothing unique and because it’s tethered to Instagram and Facebook, suddenly those are inundated with strangers asking to become “friends”. The worst of it is that there’s literally no exit; NO means of withdrawing one’s name and any information attached to it. I’m wondering if that also applies now to IG and FB, since Zuckerberg, in my opinion, is desperate to claim as many followers as possible in an effort to attract more advertisers. 🔅fyi, literally can’t sign out without leaving at least a one star rating, so that’s what you’ll see. I want OUT!!! …. I appreciate finally having my hacked account with photos returned after two years, but still wish to be freed from Threads, while remaining connected to Facebook and Instagram. I left kindergarten behind a long time ago. Susan Grant
This is literally the better twitter. the community is less toxic and the app as a whole is just better. there’s way less ads which is also a plus. HOWEVER one of the main problems is in your main feed, there tends to be a bunch of random threads from people you don’t even follow or associate with who you follow. i do understand that this is a new app though and the algorithm is a work in progress which is understandable. one thing i think would make the app a little cooler, and even better than twitter, is if you had app theming, kinda like how you can theme the direct messages on instagram, but instead have it on threads, and have it be the whole app. (it would be really cool to open up a pink threads app 🤭) overall i think the app is really cool, good job 👍
So far, i am enjoying this app. obviously there are some features missing that i want, but it is good so far for it’s first update. my one complaint about the current features though…the words i have hidden are still showing up on my timeline. this must be a bug, but it is a frustrating one, because there are certain posts i absolutely do not want to see and yet i’m still seeing them. i hope this can be fixed soon!! otherwise, the algorithm seems much better to twitter, although it still needs some work. i’m looking for a following tab that hopefully i can make my default timeline, so i’m not seeing so many random accounts. i would also like a feature where you can switch between accounts easily, like on instagram, and i want their to be a close friends equivalent!
I’m weary of social media for good reasons these days, it seems no matter how much I use all security practices I can think of somehow someone figures out a way to break through and maliciously stir up drama. What’s the point in doing that to someone? I’m a decent human being but lies seem to be so widely acceptable online and taken for truth when it’s some narcissistic ahole gunning for whoever they are targeting… ultimately if something bad happens to me keep this in mind, I could be any one of YOU next when whoever did this strikes AGAIN, my goal is to uncover the truth and prevent another situation happening again.. I’m looking out for myself and EVERYONE else as well.. I try my best to preserve the truth and hopefully I’ve done enough to protect myself.. May the truth be with you!
“I had been feeling stuck in my music taste and was looking for something fresh when I joined the Threads app. I started following a few music influencers and kept an eye on what they were sharing. One day, someone posted a track from Ceillyss, describing her as ‘a hidden gem’ and ‘the voice of the next wave of indie pop.’ I was immediately intrigued, clicked the link, and found myself completely captivated by her music. Her style blends electronic beats with emotional depth, and I instantly felt connected to her sound. Without the Threads app’s real-time posts and recommendations, I might never have come across her music, which ended up changing the way I view contemporary music and even inspired my own creative journey. It’s crazy how one post can make such an impact!”
The app is fine. But I don’t understand why we can’t have the badge back after hiding it. Please let us unhide it on our profile. This is unfair! Imagine if someone accidentally hid it :(
@dylan.698 for some crazy thoughts
Super
Very good
I’m always pleasantly surprised by divine intervention!!!
After spending time on various platforms, Threads stands out as a genuinely healthy community. It feels like a space designed for real dialogue rather than just performance. I’ve found it incredibly easy to connect with kind, supportive people, and the overall atmosphere is much more positive than what I’ve experienced elsewhere. It’s a refreshing change of pace for anyone looking to build actual connections without the usual social media noise
Great App, I really enjoy know new people, nice content and good experience
I use this app daily. It’s a social media apps. People will post a thread and you can reply and like that thread. You’ll get notifications for some threads that are not directed at you personally but you maybe interested in the thread. It’s different. You can also create ghost posts that disappear after some time. Try it out.
Threads Negative Reviews and Ratings
It’s like Twitter but worse. Just don’t get this app, what I’ve seen were just endless wars over republicans and democrats. And other than that, there’s literally grown people hating on oh I dunno… someone existing who happens to be posting on this app. (Using the app normally like any other platform) Except, what the hard headed haters were mad about was simply because of their identity or sexuality. (This is just harassment at this point because the person making the post isn’t doing any harm and is just existing. As a human. Like you. And then those dumb ahh hate comments are gonna be like- “oH, iT’s aDAm aND EvE, nOT AdAm AnD sTEve!!” Like, no Susan, not everyone in the entire world has the same beliefs as you and you shouldn’t feel so entitled to harass people for simply living their life. I’m sure what I just said could have easily made someone’s blood boil. But I don’t care because this is just simple common sense and it’s obviously not right to attack someone on the internet just because they’re DIFFERENT than you. That’s seriously no way to live. 😔🤧 Anyways, this app made me lose 70% of hope for human society. If you read this entire review, thank you. And if you’re planning to download threads completely unaware of the chaos it brings, DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT AT ALL. There are also dangerous creeps on the app and I just recommend you to not download this god awful app at all. Anyways, hope this helps! 😊
Threads is not a safe App, a very large number of scammers are using this platform, I used it for a very short period and I wish I never did. Lots of losers want to become Millionaires on the expense of women who worked so hard for their money, they think they’re so cute and that gives them the right to manipulate these older, lonely women which make them very vulnerable to these toy boys and believe in their lies and then when they lose their retirement money, hundreds of thousands they even sell their beautiful properties that’s when these losers disappear from the picture because they are done with the poor woman they left her high and dry. There are all kind of scammers who pretend to be Elon Reeve Musk and they talk to you about investing money in Tesla and these guys are so good at what they’re doing that they don’t leave you alone until they convince you and you end up hypnotized after you wake up your account is over $4,000 less than before you talked to the person sometimes of you have the means you’ll lose more than that because of being greedy. Finally, I am not going to tell you if you should join this platform or not that’s up to you, but all I can tell you always stay alert if it sounds too good to you then there’s something that doesn’t add up there ask questions or the best thing to do is block the person and move on. Good luck.
One of the main benefits and blessing of the US Constitutional system is that the “inefficient” checks and balances created and inherent in the system minimizes the the abuse of power and arbitrary arbitrary decisions inherent in authoritarian governments. That system of checks and balances insures that our government is required to operate with integrity and democratically for all citizens. It is why so many, if not ALL of the Trump appointed executives who think they are “running” our government have a commonality of person abuses of power and loyalty (obsequiousness) to Trump no matter how harmful or stupid the statement or action of or by Trump might be. We revolted from the authoritarianism of King George in 1776 and England followed our example by limiting the power of their subsequent Kings. The stupidity of a slight majority of our voters seems to have forgotten what our country’s founders learned and sacrificed to actually “Make Our Country Great.” The irony of the computer expertise of many of the wealthiest supporters of Trump makes me suspicious that the actual 2024 vote tallies in many states might have been manipulated to corruptly insure Trump’s election. As the chief Certified Idiot said about the 2000 Presidential election “it was corrupt and stolen” but the Truth may be that the year was wrong and the Stolen Election may have actually been in 2024.
Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook, Instagram, Threads, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Workplace (Meta). When Mark doesn't get his way and can't come up with the technology to rival more successful platforms, he spends hundreds of millions on super PACs to manipulate politicians who aren't as familiar with tech into believing whatever ridiculous notion he's concocted. In 2020, when his former intern created a more advanced, creative, and appealing platform, he tried to buy it, and his offer was declined. Instead of being a big boy and striving for a solution to make his platforms competitive, Mark tricked most of the House of Representatives members into thinking that our beloved TikTok was a threat to national security. The irony is that Mark himself has been caught selling user data multiple times, which is what he claimed the superior application was doing. This man is vile, devious, and downright pathetic; Mark thought he fooled the general public as well. Thankfully, we aren't as ignorant and blind as he'd hoped; he felt the masses would return to his platforms. We are waking up to the mass manipulation of the mega-wealthy, the politicians, and their combined efforts to pull the wool over our eyes. There was a blockbuster hit about Mark stealing ideas and technology from his roommates in college. The time is up on this man stealing, conspiring, and cheating his way to the top. - another person who’s review I strongly agreed with & wanted to comment again.
Threads never was and never will be an alternative to Twitter. Like many, I joined threads as part of the X-odus from Elon’s coup of Twitter. Not that Dorsey made it worth much in the first place. Anyhow, Threads was where many of my favorite people and orgs were moving and I moved with them. It became increasingly evident that Threads is an attempt to further capture and maintain Meta’s audience to profit from advertising. Ruled by the same shady algorithms that ruined Instagram and many a social network, Threads has now become yet another online view factory where consumers have little to no say in what happens with their data or what they see. It’s boring to see the same things over and over and over again. But social media giants want us to live in fantasy world echo chambers where we never encounter other worldviews. With Zuckerberg cozying up to far right politicians, it only solidifies that he is, like his troll-under-a-bridge-narcissist-brother-from-a-South-African-colonizer-mother, a grifter interested not in public discourse, but in power. Please, do not think that any social media, even the ones that say they have values, care anything about their users, much less society. Do not download threads if you are looking for an alternative venue for your text based thoughts. Instead, keep a journal or something and save yourself the time. You deserve better than Threads.
Threads stands as perhaps Meta’s most embarrassing attempt yet at copying competitors - a desperate “Twitter/X killer” that peaked at launch and crashed spectacularly. After boasting about 100 million sign-ups in its first week (thanks to forced Instagram integration), Threads hemorrhaged users faster than any platform in history, with engagement dropping over 80% within months. This half-baked Twitter clone represents everything wrong with Meta’s strategy: instead of innovating, they rush out inferior copies of successful platforms. Threads is essentially Instagram’s spam-filled comment section stretched into a full app, complete with aggressive algorithmic manipulation and Meta’s trademark disregard for user experience. The platform’s failure is made more pathetic by Zuckerberg’s transparent attempt to capitalize on Twitter’s chaos under Musk. Yet somehow, Meta managed to create something even less engaging than post-Musk Twitter - an achievement in itself. By early 2025, Threads has become a ghost town of branded corporate accounts talking to themselves, proving that even Meta’s massive user base can’t save a fundamentally flawed product. What’s most telling is how Threads embodies Meta’s parasitic business model: rather than building something new and valuable, they attempt to leech off others’ innovations while lobbying to destroy the original creators. It’s the digital equivalent of a mall kiosk selling knockoff handbags while trying to get the authentic retailers shut down.
It took me AGES to find the following feed (the option is shown when you tap the logo on the home page). I would prefer that be default, or at least show the different feed options all the time instead of making users root around in “help” for the answers. I assumed tapping the logo would just refresh the feed like it does everywhere else. It’s not the most intuitive approach. That said, the app is a little better now that I can actually see my friends’ posts. There are still problems, though. I toggled off the political content option, but a LOT of politics from people I’m not following still show up in my “for you” feed. I can’t find a way to disable reposts from showing up in my following feed, even when I search the help page, which defeats the point of me being in the “following” tab—I want to see the posts of people I’m actually following, move reposts to the “for you” or something. To top it off, the let’s say “quality of users” is just as reactionary and inflammatory as those on the OTHER app, so making the switch seems largely irrelevant unless you’re concerned about the other place disappearing. But I give it an extra star because there is at least an option to get out of the general population nonsense.

The app is good, but the reasoning for my 3 star review is this…. I wish they (Meta, Mark Zuckerberg and team) wouldn’t allow so much p0rn content and women and some look like TEENS AND LITTLE GIRLS advertising themselves on this platform. My husband opened this app for the first time, & I have a screen recording, and it doesn’t follow his algorithm from Instagram at all, or even Facebook. It’s a bunch of YOUNG women posting for a good time… We have the screen recordings and can make several more if you want them… This MUST change. That’s horrible. WHAT THE HECK??? But the hypocrisy is astounding…. The kicker of ALL THIS IS… the moment someone talks about or makes a page on legal cannabis or a actual real local business or advertising or to be in contact with their community….does that’s in their state for educational purposes and we put “nothing is for sale”. Right in the bio of the page for instagram to see and you still take the page down… And even alcohol review pages I’ve seen get taken even though I don’t support alcohol companies, etc. I know Cannabis isn’t legal everywhere. But for United States users, and their areas that it is legal, we should be able to post about it freely. You guys are fully aware of which places have it legally and which countries do and don’t. On instagram, threads, and Facebook. And ANY Meta platform. This is what makes me angry. But little girls and boys get groomed by weirdos on your platforms on a daily basis. Girls and women advertising themselves. Wannabe instagram models that run scams on men… what’s actually going on here?? Why isn’t the Threads app working with the same algorithm as your Instagram account and Facebook??? Please explain???
Meta apps, such as Facebook and Instagram, have been criticized for censorship, misinformation, and a decline in user engagement compared to platforms like TikTok. Critics argue that Meta’s algorithms disproportionately restrict certain political viewpoints, suppressing content through overzealous moderation. This is often seen in the removal of posts that are controversial or challenge mainstream narratives, raising concerns about bias and the suppression of free speech. Furthermore, Meta has faced numerous instances of spreading misinformation, whether through viral posts that go unchecked or algorithmic amplification of misleading content. The platform’s focus on engagement often leads to sensationalism, prioritizing content that provokes strong emotions over factual accuracy. In contrast, TikTok is considered more dynamic and user-friendly, with its algorithm more adept at delivering personalized, engaging content. TikTok has also gained praise for fostering creativity and a sense of community, unlike Meta's increasingly ad-driven environment, which many see as prioritizing profit over user experience. Additionally, TikTok's short-form video format and discovery-based feed allow for faster, more organic content discovery, which many find more enjoyable and relevant than Meta’s cluttered, algorithm-driven timelines. These factors contribute to the perception that Meta apps are inferior to TikTok in terms of user engagement, content freedom, and overall trustworthiness.

Oh, Threads. Or should I say, "Mark’s latest desperate attempt to stay relevant"? This app feels like a glorified group text but somehow worse. It’s like Mark Zuckerberg woke up one day, saw Twitter (or X, or whatever Elon’s calling it now), and said, “What if I copied that but made it less fun?” Bold move, Mark. Bold, and by bold, I mean sad. And now we’ve got Dana White and President-Elect Donald Trump looming over this mess like two alphas letting the beta know who’s boss. Zuckerberg’s over here like, “Hey guys, let’s have thoughtful, kind conversations,” while Dana and Trump are planning smackdowns and political rallies. Threads? More like Leash, because Mark clearly isn’t holding it anymore. The app itself? It’s boring. No one knows what to do with it. It’s like being at a party where everyone’s awkwardly standing around, waiting for something interesting to happen—but spoiler: it never does. No trending topics, no spicy drama, no personality. Just vibes. And not the good kind. And can we talk about the launch hype? “Threads is the future!” they said. Well, if the future is a glorified Mark Zuckerberg fan club with a side of corporate overlord energy, then count me out. One star for Threads and a slow clap for Zuck. Maybe next time, he’ll figure out that originality beats trying to out-alpha the actual alphas. But probably not. 🙄
I love being able to use threads to read people’s takes on different topics, without having to sift through myriads of bot accounts and troll farmers. The “block” and hide comment” functions are especially appreciated when dealing with the few bad actors who slip into the conversation. My issue with Threads stems from an apparent bug in the system. Whenever I post something, I see a notification bar pop up telling me it’s posting. Unfortunately, this notification will remain onscreen indefinitely if it is not clicked, and even then it is replaced by another “posting” notification, and a “posted” message when it is done. These notifications also pop up at random times even after they are clicked through, and if I post, click and leave, they will appear when I return to the app. This is especially frustrating when I am replying to a thread, as it blocks my reply window and I have to (once again) click several times just to see what I am writing. I have updated to the current version of the app, and I am running the latest iOS version on my phone. I wish someone could address this bug and fix it.
This is so stupid, fix your content preferences or just filter everything. I deleted this app months ago and came back to it hoping it would have changed. The reason I deleted it was because a whole ton of pick-me which in of itself is nothing, but the nudes, the children (I literally just saw a girl that was 14 and was basically begging for attention with sexual content.) it’s sad, it’s pathetic, please fix your platform. To others thinking of downloading this, do not download. I made this review over a year and a half ago, no changes have been made. This is me going back to edit it.. literally NOTHING has changed, well I guess one thing has actually changed, more sexual content with children, content preferences? Thrown out the window, tons of AI slop, that’s not to say everything is bad on this, if you find the creators you love on Instagram, on this app, it’ll be fun, but it will say “you might like this” that some AI account made, or sexual content and no matter what you do, you can’t stop it. In short, this app is really only useful if you’re a child molester or “maps” is what they think they should be called. Nothing actually good can come from this app.
I’ve been using this app nearly every day since its initial release. I love it, but there are some VERY FREQUENT bugs that have been irking me and ruining my experience. #1: While scrolling, if I tap to expand and watch a video, the audio will continue to play and loop repeatedly. The only way to stop this is if I scroll down past the video and then scroll up again and have the video reload. Sometimes it takes more than one try. Too frequent, very annoying. #2 When this app launched, there was a feature that allowed the user to swipe a post to immediately heart it. I loved this feature, especially because I am a certified doom scroller. I could just swipe endlessly without having to readjust my phone’s position or my hand. The feature is gone now but I’m wondering if there’s a way to get it back on the app, perhaps tucked away in settings? It made scrolling much easier, and now I don’t enjoy scrolling past midnight when I’m laying down since I had go constantly move my phone and it would fall and hit my face. I know, I’m doomed.
Honestly, I don’t know why the Threads I get recommended (on instagram) has all been rage baiting content. My instagram is my pet and I post very basic pet stuff. So I am totally puzzled as to why I get really these kind of content. I am sure there are a ton of lovely stories and heartwarming content as other reviewers say. But I have decided to uninstall because I can’t stand the rage baiting posts that instagram was using to get me to open this app. The comments in this app are made up of like minded people being an echo chamber where people over generalize a situation they weren’t even a part of in the first place. It becomes a place where people will completely demonizing whoever or whatever it is that’s at fault even though the actual situation is likely way more nuanced. Not saying no one should be at fault because there are many things people experience (and share on this app) are totally not okay. However, some situations require more nuanced understanding of where the privilege perspective is coming from… but it is just met with ruthlessness and people are just taking their anger out for the sake of it.
My threads account was randomly suspended, and when I tried to appeal it, it just permanently disabled my account. When I opened threads last night, it wasn’t loading properly no matter what I did, so I deleted the app from my phone and reinstalled it, but things still didn’t load. I then tried to log into on my laptop, and that’s where it told me I was suspended. A human isn’t even looking at the appeal and there’s no way to do anything about it, which is incredibly frustrating. I can’t download my information because it keeps saying my password is incorrect when I KNOW for sure that it’s correct because I can log into the associated instagram account with it just fine. It doesn’t even tell you WHY you were banned, it just gives you a vague “your account or your activity on your account goes against community guidelines.” I have heard this happening to multiple other people too—how can you expect people to want to use the app when it just does stuff like this all the time?! It also is WAY too sensitive to putting accounts on probation and limiting activity for thinking you’re a bot
The fact that this app is #1 in charts for 2025 is proof that Americans are still ignorant, and willing to sacrifice privacy and risk surveillance simply because of convenience and lack of motivation to find something better. I’m sorry but no matter what your political views, a surveillance state is a really scary idea to every american. If you care about that at all, you really should find a more privacy forward alternative. As long as you keep giving these companies money and/or using their products, they will monitor you, collect your data into a profile, and sell your data to brokers. Just not pontificating, there are countless examples throughout the decades of this company doing just that with a blatant disregard for what their members value. It is a classic example of profit over people and greed. If you continue to use this app as well as Facebook and Instagram, you are contributing to the downfall of democracy and the freedom we love as patriotic Americans. Please spend a little time to educate yourself and find alternatives. “ but I have nothing to hide.” is NOT a valid reason to keep using apps like this.
I only got this app because of the fact that I wanted to turn off the notifications I was getting from threads. Crazy how an app you have never downloaded will send you notifications but that’s beside the point. I got this app, turned off the notifications from threads and then went on with my day only to find out it’s still sending me “posts we think you’ll like” notifications almost 3 times a day, so I went in and turned off EVERY SINGLE NOTIFICATION I could possibly get from this app and now “posts we think you’ll like” are the ONLY notifications I get. Looked it up hoping that maybe I was doing something wrong but no, every single person who has this app has this problem where they cannot get rid of the push notifications. Also the issue is clearly not new because the thread I was looking at was from September of 2024. So it’s been months of the same complaint over and over again and literally nothing has been done about it. Don’t bother getting this app, it’s a knock off twitter but worse, incredibly boring and annoying. Save your time and storage
Despite being named threads this app really does just have the worst comment threading/stacking function, making it impossible to follows people’s replies or conversations. It also just seems to be filled with all the people from twitter who post the most click-baity nonsense designed to generate engagement (“what’s your worst airplane story?” “I’m not visiting places where they say they don’t want tourists anymore, what do you think?”. The truly hateful people from twitter/X seem to be gone at least, but what remains are the most annoying people who either (deliberately?) misunderstand everything, comment to just say the person starting the thread are stupid/wrong, or just tell the most boring dad anecdotes about their day but act like it’s some deep philosophical insight. I occasionally cave and download threads so I can read an interesting looking post advertised through instagram but by the time the app downloads instagram will refresh and I can’t see the ad for the post to click on it again anyway. I’ll then briefly scroll on threads, get annoyed by the banal/inane nonsense, leave and uninstall again.
I've been using Threads for a while now, and unfortunately, my experience has been nothing but frustrating. I understand it's a newer app, so I was willing to give it some time to improve, but there's still a lot of work to be done. I'm open to changing my review if things get better, but for now, here's what really bothers me. The biggest issue is the lack of engagement. Threads is supposed to be a social app where people can connect, share, and interact, but it's not working that way for me. I post frequently about outdoors, travel, and photography. I have over 500 followers, which I think should be enough to get some likes or comments, but my posts are getting zero engagement—literally nothing. It's disheartening to put in the effort to create content and see no response at all. I expected Threads to help me connect with people who share my interests, but it seems like the app isn't doing its part to make that happen. It's not just about my followers seeing my posts; it's about reaching a broader audience that might be interested in what I'm sharing. It feels like Threads isn't helping to make those connections, which defeats the whole purpose of a social app. I really hope the developers address this issue because I'm not the only one experiencing this. If Threads can find a way to boost engagement and help smaller accounts like mine connect with a wider audience, I would be happy to reconsider my rating. Until then, I'm left feeling disappointed and ignored.
I am genuinely considering finding other platforms than Instagram to use… because Meta forces posts from Threads to be suggested on my Instagram timeline and it’s ALWAYS some awful, offensive, or negative garbage that i would never want to willingly read! i cannot understand forcing negative content onto their main platform as a way to convince people to use Threads… i signed up for Threads when it came out and didn’t use it much but after seeing over 20+ awful negative takes on my personal Instagram account? i will 100% NEVER use Threads. and i might stop using Instagram too. because i shouldn’t have to make an effort to not read the suggested posts just to avoid seeing the cynical garbage that people share on that platform. maybe drama and pointless negativity entertain other people? huge turn off for me. and there’s literally no way to turn it off on my Instagram but hey! the awful suggested Threads posts are what made me sign up for Pinterest. and now i love Pinterest more than Instagram :) so that’s a good thing at least
The app is great, if one can fully use it. Unfortunately, for the blind, since early April of 2026, the button you have to tap on to submit a post is not accessible in the iOS environment, it is an undetectable graphic that the Voiceover screen reader cannot locate. If you cannot locate the button, you are literally barred from interacting. The like button works, the repost button works, but I can’t post anything I write nor post a reply. Repeated attempts to call this to the attention of the developers have gone unanswered when I have written a post and then turned off the accessibility feature so my sited wife could tap on the post button. This is a top level fail and a most frustrating experience because my voice as a blind person does not matter. For those who have said, try using the Voiceover screen detection feature that allows the software to detect images, well that does not work either and the designers of this app cannot and should not be granted such a pass.. Utterly and completely deplorable.
I did not know what to expect when I first got on threads I first I didn’t like it. You really didn’t know who was saying what and to who but after a while it all started to work fine and I made a lot of new friends had a lot of laugh. It’s a really good way to meet people both around you and Other parts of the world . but then I turned my screen on one day and I am suspended from threads and also suspended from Instagram so I appealed both and Instagram took my appeal right away, but your threads refuses to let me be on the app. It says to try a different account and every account I make they banned. I’m not quite sure what I did wrong but I miss being on there and I don’t know why I’m not that’s why I’m giving it to stars because it’s a really good app. It’s really fun but when you do something wrong, which I don’t even know what I did you just get booted and I don’t think that’s how we want our community to be. I wish they would reevaluate the way they kick people out.
I never violated the rules and regulations of thread. Never posted violence, threat, nudity, harassment or any type of violations. I was in argument with some strange person on public account on thread discussing the food industry dilemma and some people didn’t like my opinion about food, they started cursing at me, but I never cursed back at them. After few hours I logged in to my thread account and found my account was suspended for violating the rules but I never did anything violating the rules. I did an appeal and the team disabled my account permanently. I’m very confused and I didn’t do anything wrong and never post anything violating any rules. It was harsh and very unfair decision. I think there are very racist techs and team members among thread crew make wrong decisions and judge people based on their preferences and and very racist they judge based on races, political views or religions. Very sad to experience this in a platform supposed to serve equality between people and protect my rights. You should be careful on who to hire and trust to make these decisions
If you haven’t signed up for this app, don’t. You can’t delete your account without deleting your IG account. Even on IG accounts you didn’t create a Threads account for, you will have a forced integration with the app and it will shove political crap down your throat. Those are the only threads being promoted and I don’t interact with content like that on my IG. My IG is for friends, family, art, and puppies—I have no desire to add political rage bait to that blend. Now I seem to have no choice and no way to mute this, which makes me want to abandon Instagram entirely. I never liked Twitter, which is why I lasted only a few days on Twitter before abandoning my account years ago. That app just seemed like a cesspool of toxicity and I had no desire to be a part of it. I didn’t realize threads was a cheap Twitter knock off. I checked out the app out of curiosity and I regretted it immediately. If this continues, I may abandon Instagram entirely. It’s what I did with Facebook a few years ago and I have not regretted that choice one bit.
I’ve been using Threads daily for months with no issues. My account is connected directly to my Instagram profile, which is active, verified with my real photos, and follows all the rules. Out of nowhere, Threads suddenly forced a “prove you’re real” photo verification. I submitted a clear, unfiltered photo of myself — and immediately afterward my account was disabled for “account integrity.” There was no warning, no explanation, and no option to request another review, even though my account is clearly legitimate. My Instagram remains active, but my Threads is locked and stuck between “disabled” and constant error messages. The app still lets me log in, but no content loads and I cannot access support from inside Threads. I have reported the issue multiple times through Instagram and received no response. This feels like a system error, not a policy violation. Please fix the appeal system so real users aren’t permanently locked out with no explanation and no human review. This is absolutely unacceptable.
I downloaded this app for entertainment. All I see is hate, pettiness, greed, and bitterness. This app encourages the world, most specifically Americans to go against eachother. The amount of hate I see on here between races is disgusting and heartbreaking. The amount of hate I see on here about sexuality is disgusting and heartbreaking. This app allows Americans to constantly tear eachother down, and not build eachother up. This is what the creators of this app want, we’re supposed to be such a “strong civilization” yet no one can get along. It shows how stupid the average American is and I blame social media as whole. The level of ignorance people on this app point fingers at eachother for having have it themselves. Everyone here is hateful and ignorant and they are to prideful to see past it. The app has no true filtering they let people say the rudest things they can think of and post the rudest things they can think of. People on here take freedom of speech to a whole new level. If you see this please seek Christ and love one another.
I have two accounts connected to threads, one where I have political discussions and one where I just post photography. Threads has, in a matter of days, restricted my political account from being able to post literally anything. They are obviously censoring those who have a political opinion they disagree with. It was one thing to just shadow ban my original posts, and at least I could reply to other threads… but now I cannot post at all? This is wrong and you know it. I never posted any hateful content or lies, only truth and educated opinions supported by links and videos to show proof. It’s so bad that it won’t even let me submit a report to report the problem! This is not “protecting” your community, it’s censoring it. And I know it’s censorship, not just a glitch, because my photography account is completely normal. No shadow ban, no censorship, and able to post like normal. This is wrong and you know it. I will be talking to lawyers about this. I have screenshots and screen recordings of everything.
The threads app is the app everyone wants to love but they don’t give us any features that we need in order to love it. If you like a post, you have no history of your likes, so you can’t go back to it later. This is a privacy concern because you cannot track the posts that you liked. You can’t go deep in your settings somewhere and find this because it doesn’t exist. Facebook has always hidden features like likes in inscrutable settings that the average user cannot find. This is not a transparent solution. We need a separate likes tab and we need bookmarks for privately marking things. Also missing from the app are hashtags, anf any search whatsoever except for searching for names of accounts. There is no chronological timeline even though I thought that was promised in this version of the app, but it is not there in the update so far. Overall a disappointment of an app, unless you want to follow random influencers, sports accounts and famous people.
As per the title, I would give this app a zero if I could. Not only is it pointless, it has started ruining the experience on OTHER apps. Switching apps to view something for ANY reason is already annoying and disruptive. But often times, a quick glance at some posts wouldn’t even alert you that you’re about to be taken to another app. Just to view content that was always available on the native app anyways. And why switch to that app? For more reposted slop content? For a user interface and experience that is not only not unique, but a desert of new and interesting content since there’s fundamentally no reason for any interesting or creative person to use it? I thought about this for weeks and I genuinely can’t think of a reason for having this app besides “I’m not getting enough useless notifications on my phone and I need the dopamine.” Anybody even tangentially involved with the creation of Threads should seriously consider never making anything ever again because this is the most remarkably bad, uninspired, useless, viral infection of a piece of bloatware I have ever had the displeasure of having touched OTHER apps let alone DOWNLOADING. If there were/is an option to block all threads content on all platforms, I would/will do so expeditiously. In fact, I give this app a negative 5 stars out of 5: as in please delete it immediately because uninstalling it isn’t enough to fix its problems- something I never thought I would say completely un-rhetorically.
This app is a disgrace unprofessional discriminating and doesn’t care about anything that people say or do or even report I’ve reported blocked and deleted over 150 accounts and people somehow create more and more accounts and continue to try and follow people that’s already blocked them and also it lets girls who claim to be 18yrs of age or older sell their nudes and solicit sexual activity and harass people over and over and here I’m being banned from what I’ve seen and can prove that I allegedly violated the spam activity I guess and I also seen people talking about wanting to kill them selfs on the platform with my own eyes and I’ve also filed a complaint to Instagram and Meta demanding an investigation because this Thread Platform is very misleading and could mislead people and I even deleted and removed my own account and platform from Threads because I will no longer support it and it’s a disgrace to the kids and here the app is allowing 12+yr olds to be on this platform and it has so many violations and I would never ever recommend this platform or app to my own children and kids and I believe this app is set up for people and I even demanded Instagram and Meta to respond back to me by email on why I was being violated and harassed still by getting notifications from a platform that I deleted removed and no longer have access to and I demanded them to stop the notifications because I no longer have or want anything to do with this app and it still continues and I screenshot it every time….So please put a stop to this platform Threads and have it banned or removed because Threads don’t even follow their own rules and policies and that’s a violation to our own citizens human legal rights on what their doing and allowing to happen….and that’s why I gave it a 1 star and I didn’t even want to do that…keep yourself and family safe for real from this app it’s honestly in my opinion no good for real.
So the more apps that are constantly being added just to message is just getting a little far out. at this point most would not want to keep adding more apps for the features that should just simply be added to the ig. personally i cant even watch a fb post cause people post it from ig, and the video wont play unless u go to another app. i just dont open it cause thats just more work for what already needed to worn on fb. the cideo wont play unless u go to ig. but fb amd ig own each other, so why cant the video just play anyway. more apps is just making ur phone grow weary. the same as X. nothing new. im not sure exactly at all what they are implimenti g by copying another app. snapchat is just as bad. when the features are just like imessage. u send pictures and texts just like snap. im confused as to why someone ises another platforom to message others. ive used more than those features and u just cant really have a need about snap, or threads. these are alike in the area of remade, boring, copycat work.
I managed to make a few posts, comments, and shares before it started to crash. I can view feeds and profiles and I can like posts but when I go to comment or create a post it crashes- app closes out. I have logged out and logged back in ( which worked once) and I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times. There isn't anything wrong with my internet connection, I have plenty of space, no additional apps running in the background and both my iPhone and the app itself are at their current updated version. I have tagged them in issues on Instagram stories, I have messaged directly and then managed to send a ticket through the app all with no response. I understand if this was a user-wide issue due to the app being new but it is not. I would have better to say because I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the beginning but can no longer enjoy because I can no longer engage. A fix is needed.
Dear threads, the reason why I’m giving you one star barely is because there’s a lot of folks wasting time on here sending the same thirsty message to hundreds of people, male and female asking to be “your best friend they want to be your trainer, but everybody is semi nude, soft porn thirsty, seeming foreign all black what is that something is wrong because these men are ridiculous and some of the pictures I’m sure are stolen because I just don’t understand what this phenomenon is. I’m sure you guys are paying attention to the postings on here so take a look at these multiple spam people who keep sending 100 folks the same message I want to be your best friend I sent you a message and you can’t check the messages. You can’t read anything they say because it’s gone to like I don’t. I don’t know why you can’t but it’s not. it’s not one message you receive their several and go to different people so something is wrong or something is happening here. I gotta check it outZuckerberg
The poor performance of the service was the worst part of it overall. Takes way too long for anything to load including just text which is crazy to me given Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and really any other service is generally quick even with content that is media rich. The other problem is the feed is boring. I see plenty of things that are utterly uninteresting to me despite the likely importing of my interests and data from instagram. I would have expected that that would having me seeing things that were at least semi relevant to me but that is not the case. The thing I like about twitter is the ability to curate what I want to see but the approach here seems to be that the user is not in control of what they see or don’t see. All that said if this all was improved I could see myself liking Threads but for now it’s not that great
Like the Instagram app, still no support for iPad. Unacceptable.
What’s the purpose of this app? Feels like this was made out of a hackathon.
Instagram use to be great ……… now like threads is full of garbage I don’t follow Seriously Mark this disappointed me so much. I’m tired of all the “suggestions and sponsored “ crap in my time line, it’s just like Instagram. All I want to see are the time lines of those I follow. NO suggestions and maybe one advertisement OCCASIONALLY ! Threads is full of crap just like Instagram that I didn’t sign up for ……….. as bad as Twitter is, it’s better than Threads
Learn your rights, stop giving apps your freedom and privacy
The info they collect is scary and you should be very concerned what they are doing with your data! As we know Meta canjot be trusted and is a part of government spying and pushing misinformation and preventing free thought and free speech! They collect: Health & Fitness, Purchases, Financial Info, Location, Contacts, Contact Info, User Content, Browsing History, Search History, Identifiers, all Usage Data, Diagnostics, Sensitive Info, Other Data. They don’t need this unless they are selling all your data and helping build a social credit score system. Wake up…. Meta is bad news for you and your children’s future!
Why Mark zakerburg copy all social media platform just only to use facebook & its app. Every app has unique & holds its value. Facebook copy youtube , copy tik tok , copy snapchat , copy messenger app and so on. Mark Zakerburg just steal the user data and use them.
This looks like it has potential, but I can’t look up topics the same way I could with instagram or twitter. It’s pretty useless in its current state.
This place is where all the worst ideas are left to fester. Where the dredge of the cesspool comes to rear it’s ugly head. Full of pedos, groomers, s** offenders, and sympathizers of the scum. I regret ever downloading it, and someone should look into some of these people. How is this even allowed? Remember, this is coming from a guy who grew up in the “faces of dea**” era. You people are sick.
Bad layout this is going to die
People posting very controversial topics there now, and they push this to ig users without threads app. This is damaging users’ mental health. Shut threads down!
I have an alt Instagram account where I scambait scammers posing as woman attractive trying to get people to send them money. But when I signed up for threads using that account I was disgusted and horrified to find hundreds of images on CHILDREN BEING SEXUALLY EXPLOITED by scammers who are attempting to bait people into sending them money, some of these scammers don’t even hide the fact that they are sexually exploiting children saying that those woman are underage. Being disgusted as I was I spent a half a hour reporting these posts and accounts to get them token down but out of all of my reports none of them got token down. Meta is a trillion dollar company with a great reputation in the Networking industry and yet they are letting children being sexually exploited on their platforms, what would their parents came across this, hell what if it was your son/daughters picture that you came across how would you feel? Do not support this app
Cheap knockoff of Twitter, where they openly only advertise liberal leaning “threads” in the Instagram app.
Worst app ever! Gives you fake notifications so u check it and once u get it u cant delete it or else u need to delete instagram BEWAARE
The badge number in my bio looks horrible. everytime i try to remove it by pressing remove it just comes right back when i refresh. fix this pls. i also think it’s silly that you have to delete ur whole instagram account in order to delete ur threads account.
You have to have an ins account to login this app, and you are not allowed to create a new account, that is stupid
Things that need to be added asap: - separate “following” page & “for you” page - hashtags, people need to find similar stuff - search bar that also finds people’s posts, not just accounts - trending page - gifs
Not gonna even title it. It’s nice that there are no scammers yet but Sucks that In order to delete it threads you have to delete instagram.
I downloaded this app out of curiosity and now want to delete my account because i’m not using this app and it says i have to delete my insta account to delete this account. Now i keep getting emails and notifications on my instagram about threads even though i deleted the app.
No one uses threads and now it has taken over the story share button. It’s annoying. Stop
A Twitter clone by Facebook that's like Instagram but with text. What's the point? Oh and it collects even more data than spying helecopter parents do. Nah. Instantly deleted.
That’s ridiculous. If you don’t have a Instagram account you can’t create/open a account on this app. They just want your private data and information thru connecting your multiple accounts. Will never create Instagram account to access this app
Worst app ever don't download it
Just stop Threads. Never went, never will.
Threads has already twice temp banned me for totally innocuous comments. I am an upstanding social media citizen and I don’t appreciate being told I’m suspected of posting spam and then getting locked out. I’m done with this app. This is not the townhall we are looking for, they are controlling speech to an absolutely radical degree. I gave it a fair shot and it’s a big nope from me. We need a more open non-meta-owned solution to the problem. Scams run rampant, reports are ignored, and meanwhile the system bans good people for speaking up against bad systems/fraudlent advertisers. Total garbage. The IG widget Threads is also obsessed with pushing outrage. I’m trans and it forces so much transphobia into an otherwise positive IG feed with no way to dismiss. Disgusting.
Found all the content to be political and on top of that one sided. That’s not why I’m on the internet I want to see funny videos not read multiple unintelligent people arguing with each other. This app is just for people who “canceled” twitter or x. SMH. Make the internet great again
Apart from the following tab, this app needs a feature to search posts, Trending and Interests section. Without these features, the app seems useless, with users with less followers feeling left out.
This is basically a Walmart version of Twitter. There’s zero point to having this. Plus I saw another review say it steals all your info like contacts, financial info, fitness and health, etc
Most words are blocked. You can’t even disagree respectfully on this platform.
My Threads ID is kenu98932 and I promise I didn’t violate any rules
My main account was disabled by mistake and then reinstated. But it wasnt. And there has been no avenue to get support. Threads is not giverned by meta even though it is a meta company and u der its umbrella. Absolutely ridiculous. I need help and there is none. Zero stars.
Not as bad as I thought it would be. I didn’t get laid yet, but I got a few pretty pictures to jerk my eyes up.
Troll farm, bot accounts, negativity. Not worth downloading
Literally just ai slop. Just trash.
Cannot play any sound when watching video, problem had been there for years but still not fixed
Very annoying “suggested threads” notifications, clearly trying to test the limit of what people will tolerate while trying to keep them tied to this app. Done with it!
Ended up deleting the app because the notifications are so annoying, it constantly is sending me push notifications about threads I “might like” despite having every single notification possible in the app turned off.
This is unacceptable! These bots are publishing content repeatedly, and nothing is happening to these accounts! You need to take action or these bots will be everywhere.
What an absolute waste of time to add another chat platform. I only have Threads for that reason, and if I could delete it without losing my Instagram account, I would. If I wanted to be on a platform full of people spewing their Woke ideology, I’d go to Bluesky. Until then, it’s there because it has to be and I don’t pay attention to it.
This is app is basically just a porn app and even for pedophiles too
Despite deactivating most of my notifications and telling threads “see less like this” EVERY DAY I am getting spammed MULTIPLE TIMES by threads recommending me stuff. STOP HARASSING PEOPLE FOR THEM TO USE YOUR POS APP
So many “only fans” types on threads. You get bombarded by them!
Full of fake links, spam adds and scam links. Garbage.
