Rocksmith+ Fast Music Learning App Comments & Reviews

Rocksmith+ Fast Music Learning Positive Reviews

Close but no cigarI want to start off by saying I’ve been playing guitar for 10 years self taught and loved the rocksmith 2014 game, but this doesn’t come close to how amazing the songs were on it, I’m just disappointed that the OG rocksmith songs isn’t on here, like trivium, godsmack, a day to remember, etc, for a new player this is amazing, great way to learn guitar but the choice of metal and rock songs is bland, I really hope to see more new era music added like wage war and bad omens, or even Black Sabbath it’s a great great platform, but I’m just once again disappointed with the music we have to chose from, I love rocksmith and always will as it is so much more fun to play rather than read tabs and and play by yourself as to where rocksmith keeps the groove going, rocksmith always made me strive to complete a song I’ve always dreamed of playing and allowed me to work on it note by note but I’ve found things I’ve liked and found things I haven’t but that’s nature of the human beast,I would love to see guitarcade make a comeback and session mode, I hope to see this improve but keep up the good work! For a on the go guitar/ instrument experience this is great!.Version: 2.0.1

New update1- I love this app and have been using it for tabs since conception. It is a great way to pick up the basics of any song quickly. 2- the new update however has caused my mic on my iphone (which I have used since the beginning with no problem) to not pick up the sound from my bass consistently. Even though the notes are registering, it keeps pausing mid riff to tell me that I took a break. This is frustrating to say the least, as I do not yet have a midi to work through. Without the mic registering the notes, it is impossible to play a full song without getting interrupted and ruining the flow. 3- please make a compatible version for Mac!!.Version: 1.9.1

Get the cable for the best experienceI have been a long time Rocksmith user since its original release. I have honestly only learned how to play because of this game. When I learned about Rocksmith+ I decided to give it a go. I have the original usb cable that came with the game back in the day and connect it to my IPad via a adapter and it works great. The list songs is extensive but not a “ton” of popular songs. I have spent quite a bit of money over the years on my PS4 and PS5 for different songs on the games. This one is starting to get some very good songs and I am honestly very excited to see what all comes in the future. The mic feature works alright but if you can get one of the Rocksmith cables and it will make your experience SOOOOO much better..Version: 2.0.0

Almost Worth the CostI’ve used Rocksmith since it’s first console release. I was hoping for more of the same experience here. It’s missing the majority of the songs that they once had available. This is the biggest reason I’m not paying for a new subscription. They also did not have the arcade practice games like they used to. I would have considered a subscription if they still offered those. Lastly, they should have some savings for those that have purchased the console versions. I gave it 3 out of 5. This app has a TON of potential. Small music library, no arcade practice games, and no incentive for previous users are a miss. I’ll check back soon to see if they’ve built it out more. I’ve spent lots of money on “additional tracks” and multiple copies of Rocksmith on various consoles over the years….Version: 1.6.1

Been playing Rocksmith for 10 years. Love it!Just picked up this new Rocksmith and learned 2 new songs in a few days!!! Thank you! This method is awesome. I like that it gives the tools to adapt to my speed but also that it increases difficulty on its own as I learn the song. Though it includes classic tabs, I’m a gamer and a visual learner so I progressively got to prefer to follow the screen. The music selection is no bueno right now though. I hesitated to ding it a star, but they have a ton of songs so I’ll be patient. They had less songs before but more of the stuff I know. Please add more songs that I know and want to learn like in the prior games. Fingers crossed..Version: 1.6.1

Works but there’s room for improvementUPDATE: So after some trouble shooting, I’ve figured out that I can bypass the server issue by simply staying out of the “play” tab. I can still access pretty much everything through the “home”, “learn” and “search” tabs. So the issue has been deescalated from catastrophic to minor annoyance. I still think a paid app shouldn’t have issues like this that customers are left to navigate on their own, rather than the developer making it seamless. This is probably why other guitar apps have much larger user bases. But at least Rocksmith is priced more competitively to somewhat make up for it. The only other criticism I have for now is that the song selection could be better. A lot of artists and songs are not available, and there’s no funk music category at all, which is a big disappointment for bass players. But there is still a decent selection to choose from. Plenty to keep you busy, especially if you’re a beginner. The technique exercises are good too. That’s honestly one of the biggest selling points for me. All in all, it’s a very effective app for helping you learn to play while making it engaging and interactive. I think gamified training is one of the best ways to learn. It just needs more attention and care from Ubisoft to bring it to the level of it’s competitors. I’ll stick with it for now and update if there are further issues or changes. - Basic technique exercises work, but as soon as you try to play a song, the app blocks you with “can’t connect to server” error messages. The songs load just fine, but the app will continuously stop playback and interrupt you with error messages, making it impossible play. What’s shocking to me is that there are reviews going back MONTHS complaining about this issue, so I know I’m not the only one. And Ubisoft STILL hasn’t fixed it. You have a lot of nerve charging money to use this app, and then refusing to support it or fix problems. This is exactly why people hate Ubisoft..Version: 2.9.1

Problems but still funThere is a lot of crashing and bugs when trying to even start out but when it works it’s incredibly good for learning. I just experience crashes when I try to start the app and I have to restart my phone to boot it and I get a crash or server issue 10 minutes later other then that is fun.Version: 2.8.3

2014 Remastered vs RS+I really like hooking up to the PlayStation 3 or 4 and has more advantages compared to playing RS+ on an iPhone or iPad. Bigger screen, surround sound setup, and easier navigation unless running Apple TV via screen mirroring enabled on Apple device However, disadvantages for the PlayStation systems… is limited amount of tracks to play and requires purchasing song packs or individual songs at $3 a track or $8-20 per pack. Though, I wish RS+ would be integrated with the PlayStation 3 or 4 systems. I would gladly pay the subscription fee, and thank you for reading..Version: 2.0.1

Loved Rocksmith 2014 RemasteredI’ve been using Rocksmith 2014 for about 10 years. I even bought a junky old computer to keep it going after I upgraded to one with USB 3.0 (the Real Tone Cable doesn’t work with 3.0, apparently). Anyway, this app likes to use the Mic to work… except it’s terrible. We have a house of kids, things are never silent. This really messes with note recognition. So we tried to use USB A to USB C adapter with the Real Tone Cable… doesn’t work. The app is useless, which is incredible disappointing..Version: 2.8.3

Works for meDownloaded this week, now play on my phone more than my laptop. Yes, some things do get kind of small, but worth it so I can sit down with my acoustic anywhere in the house. Honestly even if the library doesn’t have every song I could ever want yet they still have a lot of fun songs, enough for me to find something I like enough to get motivated and practice..Version: 1.4.1

Note Highway is too crampedDevelopers, you need to angle the note highway more like 2014 Remastered because on this new version the notes are too close together and it makes sight reading super hard especially on a phone. I play the exercise packs on 2014 all the time so I’m super familiar with how they’re supposed to look. As soon as I played one of the exercises on Plus I noticed how cramped it was immediately. I won’t whine about the library cause I’ve found some fun stuff but the cramped note thing is kind of a dealbreaker for me..Version: 1.4.1

Gamifying guitar learning is invaluableI’m doing a combo with learning guitar for the first time ever mostly using Justin Guitar on YT for pure learning, and supplementing practicing and learning songs with Rocksmith. Rocksmith has been incredible and makes practicing so much more fun by gamifying it. I have ADHD so gamifying anything is essential if possible. One of the most valuable apps I’ve ever downloaded. Thank you for making this a thing!.Version: 2.7.2

Just not worth itI think the app and concept is incredible. I’m a fan of Rocksmith 2014 and having that experience on the go is great. I have no problems with the app itself as I think it’s very well designed for all Apple devices. However I think the subscription model is way too expensive to afford, and I find the song library too lackluster to justify it. I think experienced guitarists should put their money towards an UG Pro subscription instead, just saying….Version: 2.5.0

Notes too small for iPhoneI was excited when I saw this was available for the iPhone. Except when Istarted to play it, the note/chord layout is the same as the xbox. This works great on a TV, but not for the iPhone. They need to redesign the way the notes are represented for the iPhone and iPad so that they are not so small and so that the player is able to see them when they need to be played, let alone see what notes are coming up cause those are even smaller..Version: 1.4.1

Not bad, could be betterSong choices are slim, and not really what I’m looking for, not bad, actually a really good app. I prefer PC version cause there are more options to what you can download and play. I’ll stick to PC for now. Also over priced in my opinion but if you like the layout and it’s worth it for you then go for it and be the best guitar player you can be! :) If they add Crossfade, Creed, Def Leppard, Guns and Roses, and bands similar or more well known rock songs to the app I may re-download..Version: 1.9.5

Not working with 26.1 updateHello all I was enjoying Rocksmith+ till I updated my IPad and IPhone to 26.1 ever since then the App has crashed over and over agin on both devices also do not load at all. I have sent Ubisoft several emails and the problem still has not been fixed..Version: 2.8.3

Great product, terrible appI love Rocksmith and have played the computer version for years. I finally decided to give Rocksmith+ a try, the game is still great and there are a lot of good things about this app. That being said the app often has trouble launching and I either have to uninstall the app or close and reopen it so many times before it works. Can it really be that hard to build a functional reliable app in 2025?.Version: 2.8.3

Has helped me vastly improve as a self-taught bassistI started about a year and a half ago and have stuck with it largely due to Rocksmith. I do with there were more new songs but for the first few years of learning an instrument and get a feel for it, I think there is nothing better than Rocksmith..Version: 2.8.3

Fatal flawThe game is very enjoyable and it's getting three stars because it works great with my acoustic. But like every rocksmith version before, the audio lag when using the cable makes it unplayable for me. I've tried PS4 (RS), PS5 (RS 2014), PC and iOS (RS+)--all with the same very noticeable delay between plucking the string and hearing it come through on the game. Adjusting the audio buffer had no impact. I hope this gets resolved someday because it's such a fun way to learn..Version: 2.0.1

It’s not connecting to my iOS subscription help!I love the app. I’m trying to fix why it won’t let me log in. I have an account and I have the 1 year subscription but after two weeks it kicked me out, I can’t get pass the resubscribe process page even tho I got one. Help!!.Version: 2.0.1

Great music learning appApp was easy to load and clearly walked me through set up, which is appreciated since I’m a beginner. Tuning was a breeze. I’ve already played “More Than a Feeling” twice! Look forward to digging into the rest of the song library..Version: 1.4.1

Great tool for a beginnerAlways wanted to pick up the guitar and finally found the app that I needed. It’s super simple to set up and very engaging. Videos are helpful and you can adjust the level of difficulty which is very useful for a newbie. Songs are fun and diverse. Highly recommend!.Version: 1.6.1

Great but could improveGreat app that has made a big difference in my bass guitar progression. The user interface could definitely be improved (both the song menus as well as the note way and tab interfaces). Additional practice presets could help as well. For the price, it’s missing a lot of classic and contemporary songs—which lowers my would be 4-star rating to a 3..Version: 2.1.0

Great playability on iPad with a midi pianoIt’s amazing how far iPads have come. The ability to have a mouse/keyboard USB (or Bluetooth) connected, external speakers and a MIDI piano. Rocksmith+ is exactly as I’d have hoped, and very impressive on the iPad. A great practice and learning tool. And when on the go, the ability to have a small MIDI piano and an iPad for practice is game changing..Version: 2.0.0

Cool AppLoving the app, however i did run into a snag at first with the noise reduction calibration After it starts, it was stuck in an infinite loop that never succeeded. After reinstalling the app, i made sure to grant premission to my device's mic. Im not sure if that what indeed the issue but now when the noise reduction calibration starts, it can actually complete after a few seconds..Version: 2.0.1

Not on consoles? The app version for my phone is neat and works well for the most part, I’d like more courses for beginners to learn and it would be worth more to me if I could play it on PS5..Version: 1.2.5

Scammed?Basically, i bought rocksmith plus 1 year membership thing which is 78% off right now and it says i own it in my AppStore. Thing is in rocksmith it still only lets me play the 6 free songs. I’m signed onto the correct user and even when i try buying the 1 year offer again it says “you already own this, it will renew December 14th click manage to manage subscription”.Version: 2.8.1

Just what we needed. All in all I have put in well over 1000 hours playing Rocksmith games since the original release of the game in 2011. First, you won’t find a better quality, more engaging, or fun way to learn how to play guitar with software, than Rocksmith. Second, the song choices are getting better with time, and there really is something for everyone at this point. If you enjoy playing guitar, and want to learn songs in a fun, engaging, and progressive manner, invest in the service. It’s worth it. This app is a very welcome addition to the collection of Rocksmith games. If you’re like me and have difficulty playing a repertoire of songs from memory, this is the app that will make playing around the campfire finally accessible, and you have a great backing track if you use a Bluetooth speaker. Literally the only issue I have been having is background noise interfering with the game picking up the guitar from time to time. Thank you to the entire Rocksmith team for all the years of work they’ve put into this game, and for being such an integral part of helping thousands of people learn to play guitar in a non-conventional and highly entertaining way..Version: 1.8.0

Love itBeen playing rocksmith since it’s first inception on my PlayStation for my guitar I have always wanted to try piano and again thanks to rocksmith here I am again .. thank you rocksmith.Version: 2.0.0

Love Tabs, Hate SelectionThe addition of showing tabs is way more intuitive for me and makes the experience a lot more enjoyable and easy to digest. However, the song selection is fairly disappointing and lacks a lot, maybe all, of what past games featured..Version: 1.2.5

Can I do this? Sure I can! This is my first experience with rocksmith. I’ve always been curious about the experience so I decided I would give it a shot. The interface is beautiful, intuitive, and gets you started quickly. Most importantly, learning guitar is a daunting task, and I felt like it was actually an achievable goal thanks to the basics lessons and the fact you could practice with actual songs which is more motivating to me. My advice, give the trial a shot, and you’ll see if it’s right for you. I definitely enjoyed it myself..Version: 1.3.0

Most efficient & fun way to learn guitarI’ve been wanting to learn guitar for a while and never ended up paying for a teacher because I thought it was expensive and time consuming. Until I recently found out about Rocksmith+. In my opinion there’s no better way to learn than from playing a game from the comfort of my home. The cheapest, funniest and most efficient way to learn guitar is with Rocksmith+..Version: 1.2.5

Veny nice appWow! Amazing app! A must when learning to play guitar! Kudos to the devs! The interface is amazing too.Version: 1.2.5
