Close but no cigarI want to start off by saying I’ve been playing guitar for 10 years self taught and loved the rocksmith 2014 game, but this doesn’t come close to how amazing the songs were on it, I’m just disappointed that the OG rocksmith songs isn’t on here, like trivium, godsmack, a day to remember, etc, for a new player this is amazing, great way to learn guitar but the choice of metal and rock songs is bland, I really hope to see more new era music added like wage war and bad omens, or even Black Sabbath it’s a great great platform, but I’m just once again disappointed with the music we have to chose from, I love rocksmith and always will as it is so much more fun to play rather than read tabs and and play by yourself as to where rocksmith keeps the groove going, rocksmith always made me strive to complete a song I’ve always dreamed of playing and allowed me to work on it note by note but I’ve found things I’ve liked and found things I haven’t but that’s nature of the human beast,I would love to see guitarcade make a comeback and session mode, I hope to see this improve but keep up the good work! New update1- I love this app and have been using it for tabs since conception. It is a great way to pick up the basics of any song quickly. 2- the new update however has caused my mic on my iphone (which I have used since the beginning with no problem) to not pick up the sound from my bass consistently. Even though the notes are registering, it keeps pausing mid riff to tell me that I took a break. This is frustrating to say the least, as I do not yet have a midi to work through. Without the mic registering the notes, it is impossible to play a full song without getting interrupted and ruining the flow. 3- please make a compatible version for Mac!!.Gmack77Version: 1.9.1

Get the cable for the best experienceI have been a long time Rocksmith user since its original release. I have honestly only learned how to play because of this game. When I learned about Rocksmith+ I decided to give it a go. I have the original usb cable that came with the game back in the day and connect it to my IPad via a adapter and it works great. The list songs is extensive but not a “ton” of popular songs. I have spent quite a bit of money over the years on my PS4 and PS5 for different songs on the games. This one is starting to get some very good songs and I am honestly very excited to see what all comes in the future. The mic feature works alright but if you can get one of the Rocksmith cables and it will make your experience SOOOOO much better..Get the cableVersion: 2.0.0

Almost Worth the CostI’ve used Rocksmith since it’s first console release. I was hoping for more of the same experience here. It’s missing the majority of the songs that they once had available. This is the biggest reason I’m not paying for a new subscription. They also did not have the arcade practice games like they used to. I would have considered a subscription if they still offered those. Lastly, they should have some savings for those that have purchased the console versions. I gave it 3 out of 5. This app has a TON of potential. Small music library, no arcade practice games, and no incentive for previous users are a miss. I’ll check back soon to see if they’ve built it out more. Been playing Rocksmith for 10 years. Love it!Just picked up this new Rocksmith and learned 2 new songs in a few days!!! Thank you! This method is awesome. I like that it gives the tools to adapt to my speed but also that it increases difficulty on its own as I learn the song. Though it includes classic tabs, I’m a gamer and a visual learner so I progressively got to prefer to follow the screen. The music selection is no bueno right now though. I hesitated to ding it a star, but they have a ton of songs so I’ll be patient. They had less songs before but more of the stuff I know. Works but there’s room for improvementUPDATE: So after some trouble shooting, I’ve figured out that I can bypass the server issue by simply staying out of the “play” tab. I can still access pretty much everything through the “home”, “learn” and “search” tabs. So the issue has been deescalated from catastrophic to minor annoyance. I still think a paid app shouldn’t have issues like this that customers are left to navigate on their own, rather than the developer making it seamless. This is probably why other guitar apps have much larger user bases. But at least Rocksmith is priced more competitively to somewhat make up for it. The only other criticism I have for now is that the song selection could be better. A lot of artists and songs are not available, and there’s no funk music category at all, which is a big disappointment for bass players. But there is still a decent selection to choose from. Plenty to keep you busy, especially if you’re a beginner. The technique exercises are good too. That’s honestly one of the biggest selling points for me. All in all, it’s a very effective app for helping you learn to play while making it engaging and interactive. I think gamified training is one of the best ways to learn. It just needs more attention and care from Ubisoft to bring it to the level of it’s competitors. I’ll stick with it for now and update if there are further issues or changes. - Basic technique exercises work, but as soon as you try to play a song, the app blocks you with “can’t connect to server” error messages. The songs load just fine, but the app will continuously stop playback and interrupt you with error messages, making it impossible play. What’s shocking to me is that there are reviews going back MONTHS complaining about this issue, so I know I’m not the only one. And Ubisoft STILL hasn’t fixed it. Problems but still funThere is a lot of crashing and bugs when trying to even start out but when it works it’s incredibly good for learning. 2014 Remastered vs RS+I really like hooking up to the PlayStation 3 or 4 and has more advantages compared to playing RS+ on an iPhone or iPad. Bigger screen, surround sound setup, and easier navigation unless running Apple TV via screen mirroring enabled on Apple device However, disadvantages for the PlayStation systems… is limited amount of tracks to play and requires purchasing song packs or individual songs at $3 a track or $8-20 per pack. Loved Rocksmith 2014 RemasteredI’ve been using Rocksmith 2014 for about 10 years. I even bought a junky old computer to keep it going after I upgraded to one with USB 3.0 (the Real Tone Cable doesn’t work with 3.0, apparently). Anyway, this app likes to use the Mic to work… except it’s terrible. We have a house of kids, things are never silent. This really messes with note recognition. Note Highway is too crampedDevelopers, you need to angle the note highway more like 2014 Remastered because on this new version the notes are too close together and it makes sight reading super hard especially on a phone. Just not worth itI think the app and concept is incredible. I’m a fan of Rocksmith 2014 and having that experience on the go is great. Notes too small for iPhoneI was excited when I saw this was available for the iPhone. Except when Istarted to play it, the note/chord layout is the same as the xbox. This works great on a TV, but not for the iPhone. They need to redesign the way the notes are represented for the iPhone and iPad so that they are not so small and so that the player is able to see them when they need to be played, let alone see what notes are coming up cause those are even smaller..I love zombie farm FOREVERVersion: 1.4.1

Fatal flawThe game is very enjoyable and it's getting three stars because it works great with my acoustic. But like every rocksmith version before, the audio lag when using the cable makes it unplayable for me. I've tried PS4 (RS), PS5 (RS 2014), PC and iOS (RS+)--all with the same very noticeable delay between plucking the string and hearing it come through on the game. Great playability on iPad with a midi pianoIt’s amazing how far iPads have come. The ability to have a mouse/keyboard USB (or Bluetooth) connected, external speakers and a MIDI piano. Just what we needed.All in all I have put in well over 1000 hours playing Rocksmith games since the original release of the game in 2011. First, you won’t find a better quality, more engaging, or fun way to learn how to play guitar with software, than Rocksmith. Second, the song choices are getting better with time, and there really is something for everyone at this point. If you enjoy playing guitar, and want to learn songs in a fun, engaging, and progressive manner, invest in the service. It’s worth it. This app is a very welcome addition to the collection of Rocksmith games. Guitarist for 35 yearsI was very excited to try this program. But it is completely frustrating. The catalog of songs is incredibly limited. And the software itself has a hard time registering my notes, perhaps due to the fact that I did not have the right sound engine loaded, so that is on me. However, it became quickly very clear to me that it is very difficult to watch the screen and play the guitar. I have always played by feel, but I'm realizing that I look at the neck and the strings more often than I realized. I cannot imagine being a new guitarist trying to learn and having my eyes glued to the screen the whole time. Learning to listen, and to watch what your hands are doing are the most important things about learning the guitar. Staring at the screen and trying to match little blips as they go by has absolutely nothing to do with learning to play music. Some things cannot and should not be gamified. I cannot read music and so I learned to play by ear. And as a professional guitarist for 25 of my 35 years playing the instrument, I was always very glad that I had developed the ability to play what I was hearing. Much better to spend your time developing your ear and spending your time with your eyes on your instrument than staring at the computer screen. Unplug from the computer if you want to learn. Somewhat of an improvementThe new Rocksmith+ offers some “quality of life” improvements over its predecessor Rocksmith 2014 Edition. That said the use of a microphone to detect the guitar means that there’s some lag when it comes to what you’re seeing and what you’re playing. The microphone also means it has to be close to the source or it will have difficulty picking up the sound. Which itself is an issue on a phone with a limited screen size, since you can’t always sit close to the source and have the phone at an appropriate viewing angle. Then the use of a Real Tone cable is insufferable since you’d need to buy a Lightning to USB 3.0 Adapter at an additional cost (without counting the cost of the Real Tone cable itself) And you might think “Well, the subscription works across platforms so I could play on my laptop” Well, not if it is a Mac. The computer version doesn’t run on Mac, so if you’re an avid Apple consumer don’t expect to use this on any device other than an iPhone/iPad. So in all you’d be paying $100 a year for an ambitious app that only falls short on its execution..X7onisama7xVersion: 1.4.1

Recognizes I paid, but won’t let me playI am super frustrated. I’ve been playing Rocksmith 2014 on my Mac for years, so when I saw this for iPad, I was stoked. Well, I have now paid since November and have not been able to access my paid subscription content EVER. I went to support chat, and it said they’d respond within 48 hours! I’m sorry, but a 48 hour response time does not constitute a chat. It’s not even an adequate response time for email. When they did respond, all they did was send me a link to an article ( which I had already found myself) about the app sometimes not recognizing the subscription and to log out, and then log back in . First, it does recognize that I have a subscription. “The servers just need a little more time”…Well we are going on 4.5 months. Still not enough time apparently. Now I have to go through the hassle of getting a refund for all the money I’ve paid for a subscription I haven’t had access to, and the bottom line is that it seems the app is inaccessible, which is very disappointing and annoying. Deceptive subscription cancellation procedureThis is unfortunate because the original rock smith game was great. This iOS version is janky at best, the music is abysmal, and Ubisofts account management is terrible. The subscription doesn’t show up in App Store subscriptions so you go to their website and get instructions to cancel. The instructions lead to an endless loop and the option to cancel they reference doesn’t exist (sent a screenshot to their support). You only get prompted to cancel by iOS if you delete the app (I assume that always works but no clue). Support will not process the cancellation and asks for screenshots of their website which were already provided. There’s no way to try before you buy unless you sign up for a year. So, I bit the bullet and paid for a month (didn't want to commit $100 before I tried the app) and decided it wasn’t good after a few hours. FrustratingI have been an avid fan of the rocksmith releases and have been playing them forever. Overall I have loved the concept and the delivery on consoles but I find the iOS app to be incredibly frustrating. For starters, after almost every song the app locks up and I have to close and reload. So progress isn’t saved at all. The song library is quite limited but I can see they are trying to grow it out which is appreciated but it is not enough. I use one of the Rocksmith cables so sound quality and the notes are recognized fairly well, but could definitely be improved. It seems any kind of fret buzz makes your notes or chords unrecognizable. I paid for the year and so will continue to mess with it but overall I recommend sticking to the previous Rocksmith releases and let the app fix these bugs first..Dan7554Version: 2.2.1

Y’all just lost my businessThe platform is great, the app is garbage! It keeps crashing, and when it doesn’t crash, it stops working when you almost finish the song, and sometimes the lesson doesn’t even load! My friend Omar just recently got a subscription, and he can’t use it either. We pay $140 a year for this service, this is unacceptable! This has been going on for over a month now! I guess they don’t want money?Really wanted to play and enjoy Rocksmith, since I’ve been trying to learn the guitar for a while and have been looking for a more gamified way to learn. I got the app and signed up for a 1 year subscription with a 7 day trial, but couldn’t get it to work for the life of me. Every time I tried to play it said I needed to subscribe, even though I just purchased a subscription. No matter what I did I couldn’t get it to recognize the subscription. I tried logging out / back in again, using a new account only based off my Apple ID, merging accounts….but after about 2 hours of trying to figure it out I gave up. Reddit is full of people also saying that they can’t get the app to recognize their subscription and that customer support isn’t helpful. Good thing it was a trial and I’m not out any money. Nice try, but no cigarInterface is good enough, but not fun like the 2014 version - not to mention the song selection is abysmally bad. No two player, or shuffle play. Crashes often and settings/preferences need to be reset every time. Wouldn’t play music through hdmi, had to hardwire my headphones into my stereo because I guess they want you to use headphones on iPad?? Not worth the year price. Ending my 7 day free trial early, played the 12 songs that were good. If you are an expert level, it’s worth your time to play expert/proficient level songs, they were entertaining, but unless you have a nice setup, I couldn’t imagine enjoying playing off your iPad or iPhone and having fun for more than 2 songs. Rough mic detectionI just tried the iPhone version. It looks almost exactly like the desktop. It’s quite small during a song, so I had to get right on it to see. I wasn’t sure if the mic didn’t pick up well or the note detection needed more work, but the first song I normally do well at, it said I did about 50% accurately. I tried the same song with the same guitar on a 2018 iPad Pro with built in mic and got 26% accuracy. The bigger screen makes it much more doable, but we need to know if we can plug in the cable with an adapter. Actual trash appHyper predatory and actually barely works anyways app. Using the iRig2 device to plug into my iPad had like a 240ms delay (which no other app has) probabl because it doesn’t support output to the iRig, only input. And this isn’t adjustable in any way to work with the song you are listening to. You can line up the screen to the song audio, but your guitar isn’t going to line up with it and on top of it it barely registers. So use raw speakers? Oh that also works like garbage. $140 a year for this is an absolute joke. Just buy the original rock smith, or pay one of those super helpful websites less for more help. Skip this please. Terribly unreliableI paid for a year subscription and I am currently trying to use the app to learn guitar. When the app works, it’s fantastic, but unfortunately about 25% of my play sessions are suddenly interrupted during a song as the app seemingly crashes. The music continues playing even after closing the app, which adds to even more frustration. On top of that, there are random errors on the menus, such as no new songs appearing for the monthly songs, the menu freezing after browsing with the search section etc. I can’t believe a paid subscription app can be this unreliable!!!.KellasmackVersion: 2.8.3

I don’t recommend for Apple usersThis is not available for Macs, so if you are an Apple user, you are stuck with the app. I was able to connect my guitar using iRig. The app works fine using my iPad’s speakers, but who wants to listen to music or a their guitar through iPad speakers. I connected my AirPods which created an unacceptable delay that could not be fixed by adjusting the settings. As there is only one port on my iPad, of course, I can’t use wired headphones and connect my guitar. My Mac mini has all the ports I need, but alas, there is no Mac version. Thank god I was refundedWhen Rocksmith stopped working on my Mac, I was pretty devastated since I had amassed quite a bit of songs that I had purchased to practice. I recently found out that Rocksmith+ works on ios and had to jump at the opportunity. After paying about $152 for the year, I continued to enjoy my 7 day free trial. Once the 7 day trial was over, I could no longer access my subscription. I spent so much time trying to find answers on the internet but nothing worked. Not Built for Apple DevicesI bought a brand new iPad Pro (M5) and MacBook Pro (M5) with the main goal of using Rocksmith+. Ubisoft’s own site says I needed an audio interface, so I bought one, but now I find out that Rocksmith+ is not even compatible with a MacBook. So, I tried the iPad app. It takes forever to open, and when it finally does, I only see a log in screen. When I try to log in, I get a white screen. NOT for overall learning or beginnersIf you want to learn a specific song or two this is a good place to learn them, if they are in the Rocksmith library. If you want to learn to play guitar and plan to use their lessons, I would looks elsewhere. Their lessons go from learning a few cord and then jump immediately to moving all over the neck and fretboard in the next few lessons. DisappointmentI really enjoyed rocksmith 2014 and was hoping this would be an update, but it’s the exact same songs that were popular in 1980 just stuck on repeat. You can look up songs by age and in the metal and rock sections you’ve got link in park and paramore as the only things that are fresh post 2000. Everything else is mudvayne and other guttural garbage. Not even some stone sour or something that has actual guitar in it. But don’t worry, they updated the hip hop and pop sections. The initial idea of this game is incredible and I dropped hundreds of dollars in DLC as they released new content every week since its inception. Good thing there’s a free trialOver $100 a year to subscribe and constantly bombarded with network errors that force restart the app, losing any progress made in your current session. I have fiber 1GBPS and have literally zero issues with any other app, game, streaming, etc. Very limited music selection, and dozens of songs just outright not including arrangements for certain parts of songs (solos, bridges, etc.) It did improve on at least one thing, however. The visual/audio lag is leagues better when compared to Rocksmith 2014 when playing on a modern 4K+ smart tv. I’m a self taught guitarist for going on 10+ years. I’ve always liked Rocksmith because it’s a fun, interactive way for new players to pick up guitar. Good but have a big problemI love the riff repeater—it really helps with tricky parts of the song. However, if you try to repeat the first bar, it doesn’t start from the very beginning; instead, it starts at 0:04, which doesn’t give enough time to prepare.
