Amazing!!!I’ve had apps I use for business that were ok, but built by someone that obviously doesn’t know the industry, rather just building what they think you need. For years i’ve had the ultimate app for what I do in my head when I stumbled across Replit. I’m not a coder, definitely not an app builder, but I do build my own websites with easy module software that doesn’t require coding. I would say that was my only advantage in using this, I know a little bit of the lingo used to target desired outcomes. However even on things I don’t know, the app intuitively knows what you’re after, and builds it, it autogenerates the entire desired function, combined with all standard features that you forgot to mention. After completing your desired iterations, it will then offer additional things it can build to enhance the functionality. I was able to build 70% of my dream app setting on the toilet when I first played with it, in minutes. I was blown away, and that was all under the free version. I then began tweaking it with the dream functionality I desired which zero of such apps I’ve ever used have, and it’s getting better and better. I now have probably 5hrs of playing with it under my belt, and I have an app I could publish tomorrow if desired. It’s a calculator specific to my industry, but rather than just a calculator, I thought I would see if I could add customer receipts, full blown daily, weekly, monthly, and custom date range profit and loss reporting, and it did it! I went from building a simple calculator app, to a full blown office suite that would have cost thousands of dollars and months of back and forth with developers to make in 5ish hours including my learning curve. Expensive and buggyFor the most part, it's a really fun, polished app for people who want to get into playing around with some vibe coding. On the other hand, I found that it really doesn't do a very good job with testing, even when you ask it to. And when bugs come up, you end up paying a lot of money through many, many failed loops of trying to fix them. On my current project, I just built a simple web app, and I'm on the 13th time of it trying to deploy, just using standard Replit deployment. When it fails, it feeds the errors back into its agent, and you pay for the failed deployment trying to be fixed. But it doesn't seem very effective at it because it says it's fixed and then it just fails again. Compared to Windsurf, Cursor, or just using ChatGPT, this gets really expensive. I think I've paid about $30 right now on just trying to get the app Replit built to deploy with its standard process, and I'm getting ready to give up. Pretty good but seems to be like a slot machineI really love the idea that you can create your app, it’s really awesome but for example, I tell the agent to create a menu, it will do that but then it will not complete it with the instructions I said, so I have to go back and tell it to fix it, it did not complete so it will go back and say it will correct it, then it works on it but then it finishes the changes and it’s still not working, so I go again and tell it to correct it. This feels like a slot machine because it keeps working on it back and forth without being able to do the work correctly one time, by the time you’re done you have paid a whole bunch. Maybe it’s the early stages so it’s not that good or it’s a good tactic to keep billing you since it never seems to complete some of these tasks correctly. So much potential, but a big money grabI’ve built two apps so far with success. Vibe coding my way through it, however, the agent makes so many mistakes through simply forgetting or making changes you don’t ask for that you end up losing so much of your allotment of credit. It’s frustrating. What I want to see is an adaptive agent that refunds you when it screws up, and is clearly not your fault. An example is Manus AI. If it screws up, it refunds you. Everything. You’re wasting credits correcting the agent. It you get the assistant involved mid build, it crashes the application. Lovable 2.0 just released an ability to select your edits and manually make changes. This is a huge need. They also gave you a separate chat option to plan. I’ve been planning with CHAT GPT then bringing over my details and it still gets it wrong. I paid someone last year 5 grand to help build this website for me and they couldn’t figure out how to integrate all the things I wanted into the website. From simple kiosk app for tracking laundry drop off/ pickup, to a full featured web portal for employees to message each other, chat with a custom Claude bot, and submit recaps and trouble tickets, with full slack and salesforce integration. Good start to a mobile repl!!It’s obviously not the same as having a computer by you, but it’s cool to be able to test out an idea on the go, or on a long flight. A couple improvements could make it better: 1. Login in glitch for ReplitI love programming on Replit’s desktop website and I had a good experience with it. I decided to download the Replit mobile app and give that a try. Sadly, I didn’t even get past the login screen. The page loaded and I typed in my credentials but when I clicked the login button, it wasn’t even loading the new page, it just stayed on the login screen. Great for PMs and FoundersThis app is truly revolutionary. I’m currently using it to build out a very complex web app and I’m impressed by how much I have accomplish as a non-technical engineer. My only gripes are that the mobile app is basically unusable and crashes before I can open any features - I’m uncertain if this is due to the size of my project, my iPhone version, or the app itself. The desktop web version has worked best in my use case but is only reliable about 80% of the time - either way it’s gotten me to a functioning self-architected web application. Great Platform, But Unfair Credit Policy for Deployed SitesI’ve decided to cancel my subscription not because I believe Replit is a bad platform, but because I find a specific policy to be unfair and frustrating. Replit offers a lot of great tools for developers, especially for beginners and those working on small-scale projects. However, the way the credit system is handled doesn’t sit well with me. When you pay for a yearly subscription, there’s a reasonable expectation that certain core services like keeping your deployed website live should remain uninterrupted. Unfortunately, once you exhaust your monthly credits, your live site is taken down until you purchase additional credits. I understand limiting access to advanced features or blocking new deployments and edits when credits run out, but removing an already-deployed site from public view seems excessive and counterproductive. It feels more like a penalty than a fair limit, especially for users who have paid in advance for an entire year. A deployed site should remain online regardless of whether or not you can make changes to it until your next monthly credit cycle begins. Every update I make to the app overwrites and creates multiple new issues that were already resolvedI spent the last month building an app for my manufacturing facility and everything was perfect, then the agent made a massive error and now I’ve spent the last 3 days trying to get the app back to place ready to deploy but now every change I make trying to get back to when it was working opens 5 new errors with every change. The last 3 full days I’ve spent trying to fix all issues the agent continues to make but I fix 1 problem and it causes multiple new problems. At this point, I feel like I will never be able to get ahead to a deployable state without errors and will have to scrap over a month of work. 50+ hrs of work, hundreds of dollars and I’m left with an app that I’m having to fix the same problems daily. Even minor changes causes massive error messages. I detail that issue, the agent try’s to fix but causes multiple new errors and with all the moving parts, I fear this will never be error free (which I understand) nothing is perfect. But my issue is that all these problems were already solved, now I’m having to fix the same issue again and again and every time it solves that 1 problem but creates 2 more. So this will have to be scraped. Lastly, I’ll say, I was so excited about Replit and told multiple people how great it was and I feel maybe this type of technology is just too premature Ps: another issue I struggle with is that I pay .05 for every change but when the issue is caused by the agent for something that was already perfected, and now I have to fix countless errors again and again, I am now wasting more time and money for errors I did not cause. Customer support & bugs to work outI want to love this app because it has a lot of incredible things going for it but it crashes on me, repeatedly takes forever to verify I’m a human, I’ve been waiting almost a month now for customer support to help me out with an issue from day 1, customer support closed out my ticket without resolving the issue and told me to just open a new ticket, all of which is communicated by ai, I haven’t made it to a human yet. Beyond this I believe I’m getting double charged, again no help from customer support, some of the pricing just makes you scratch your head. Cool app - shady business practiceI wanted to love this app and it is a legitimate app, its not a scam app, but their business practices are a scam. When you use the agent, it charges whether the agent does what you ask or not. You only get a certain amount of uses per month. Then theres all this shady fine print stuff. I purposely didn’t give my credit card and paid a monthly subscription so that I wouldn’t be charged more once I used up the monthly stuff that comes with the subscription, which is $26 by the way. So after I ran out of my $25 worth of service last month, it just charged me $2.84 even though I didn’t authorize it. Then they charged me for the next month for the entire subscription, but I still can’t use it because they can’t figure out how to deduct the $2.84 from this month, or get the app to stop charging you at its limit. It seems like scammy behavior to get you to add a credit card. I don’t have my credit card because I I’m not good at monitoring that kind of stuff and I don’t want it to accrue charges beyond the monthly subscription as they purposely set it up to take advantage of that.
