Indispensable for simultaneous interpreteringThe offline capabilities of this app make it indispensable for me when I am sitting in a booth without internet, interpreting. It's so easy to use that I can continue interpreting even while looking up a term. The translations do require someone with good knowledge of the language, though, to choose the correct term. I already know what it sounds like in English!The free version is useful, however, I upgraded for the pronunciation so that I could hear what the word of the day sounds like in Russian. Unfortunately, the pronunciation is in English. I contacted the developer and, in spite of letting them know that I was connected to the Internet and the pronunciation worked in the words but not the Word of the Day, I have found no fix for this. As a result, I hesitated on upgrading to the full version. As a free app, it will help you find what you are looking for, but it's not much different than other apps out there..YaybeeyeeVersion: 7.0

Easy and fastCommon people! Really? Giving 1 star? I don't usually rate apps but I wanted to protect this one. Yes it is not perfect, but it is very simple and it works well, it finds practically every word I throw at it and does good job. I use it in conjunction with other dictionaries to just better understanding of the sense of the word. Excellent dictionary for freeIf you know some Russian and just need a large store of words, this is for you. If you want something for beginners, choose another program for beginners. Somewhat helpfulI'm using this to supplement my college language courses, and it's a great way to expand one's developing vocabulary. I didn't give four or more stars because sometimes, the English word (for which the Russian translation is to be guessed in the multiple-choice area) is obscure and antiquated, if not completely unheard of. Good dictionaryThis is a good dictionary. I liked the dictionary when you could access English definitions for English words. I find the word of the day is impractical. Decent dictionary, ok appThis is probably one of the more useful free Eng-Rus dictionary out there (or inexpensive if you purchase add-ons). It does have its bugs, however, and the interface can sometimes be cumbersome to work with. A few translations are not entirely correct, so it requires previous Russian knowledge to distinguish. Despite paying to specifically remove ads, I still receive ads for the developer's other apps. Also, every few days the app reverts back to the free version and blasts me with 3rd party ads. It's easy enough to restore my purchases, but that's not something I should have to do on a regular basis. The developer is unable to fix this issue, so I've since started using Abbyy Lingvo. Expensive, but entirely worth it for serious Russian language students/enthusiasts..BguffyVersion: 18.1

AbysmalThere are so many English words that are completely made up. What in earth is a "dog bee?" I thought maybe this is some obscure British or Australian slang, but the Internet shows nothing. Other stuff just looks knotty like "a bad quarter of an hour" or "a back view of things." Don't even get me started on the Russian. It looks like someone just stole a freelang dictionary and tried to upgrade it a bit. Seriously, even google translate would serve you better than this. Free Version not very helpful for non-speakersAlmost useless for non-speakers. Words are often not practical. You have to pay to hear the Russian word pronounced. All you get is a written Cyrillic equivalent of the English word. Might be helpful to someone who has studied Russian for a couple of years.
