Great finance appFinally bought this app after using the free version for several months. It's the only app that can really keep track of all my accounts and budgets. The only feature I hope they can add is to change the pay bill feature. There should be a way to designate which acct money is coming out of and where it's going. For example, to pay my credit card, I can designate that the money comes out of my checking acct but then the balance for my credit card doesn't change even though the balance for my checking has been deducted. I should be able to pay bills with one acct to another and have both accts updated. For now, I just use the bill reminder to tell me when things are due and I record these types of transactions as balance transfers and then delete the bill. Please update this feature? Other wise it's a great simple app. Update: frustrated with the reconcile feature. Once one acct is reconciled and hidden, it’s also hidden in the associated acct which then makes balancing on a statement really confusing. Love itGreat finance app. I like how you can quickly look at different reports such as categories, accounts, weekly, monthly, etc. I like writing in the note box what I purchased at the store and I love that the note is visible on the transactions so I don't have to click each one and go to the details just to see the note. My favorite thing about the app is at the end of the month I export the category reports to an excel file and I love that each category is separated with all the details and total for each. I've used other apps where they just list all the expenses in one list and the categories are all mixed. This app organizes the report very nicely. One thing that would make this app perfect is being able to do category budgets. Right now you can create budgets, but they aren't linked to your categories so you have to add each transaction individually to the created budget which makes it really inconvenient. It was the best until recent upgradeI had been using this app more than 3 years now. I was very happy with all the features so far and was excited to see the recent upgrade with more features. The first thing that disappointed me in this upgrade was that they removed feature to attach bill receipts (images) with payment. Then I noticed few things like even if I had set a bill to repeat monthly and delete a bill for a specific month, it stopped showing me for future bills too. I was so depend on this app and because of not showing my bills in next month, I missed payment. I would give 5 stars for the previous version but 4 stars for this version. Great App But one RequestThe app is great.. A request though.. In Transactions that comes under Transfer plz show the account from which transfer is made. Right now in transaction details we can only see the word transfer & not the name of the account from/to which transfer is done. For eg. If we enter a transaction of transfer from cash account to bank account of 2k lets say.. Now when I open by Bank account & see the transaction there. It shows date, & in in transaction details the word “Transfer” & then the amount & balance. Instead of just the word transfer, it should show either “Transfer from Cash” or just Cash. This way it will be more simple to know the transfer details otherwise we have click through each transaction to see from/to which account transfer has been done.. Been using this app a long timeMy wife and I have been using this app to organize our finances for quite a while. We have used other localized apps--I don't like the idea of a web-based service for finances. This app has helped me to see 'where the money goes' and to understand our spending habits. The reports are very well laid out. I like that you can see every piece of information you put into the app in a report form--really gives you a grasp on the details. You do have to manually add your vendors--which is best. I like to add a 'cash' & 'check' payee; this allows a little more fluidity in how you operate your cash budget. Transferring between accounts is also very helpful-though there is not a report for that. All in all, we love it and will continue to use in our budgeting..EslintonVersion: 3.6.3

Good app but major bug if you travel across time zonesI have used many expense tracking apps, and this one has interesting functionality but if you travel across time zones, the budget feature becomes unusable so you won’t be able to compare your actuals versus budgeted directly on the app, you’ll have to download expenses to a spreadsheet and do the budget vs actuals there. Very annoying and partially defeating the purpose of having an expense tracking app on your phone. The bug adds monthly budgets and double counts expenses for the month ends where you are in a different time zone. I have paid for an annual subscription for this but I am looking for another app because this bug is getting very annoying, and it has been around for SO long, I really thought it would be fixed by now. IPad Pro UserI've had Money Monitor Pro for many years on my cell phones through the years. I greatly appreciate the improvements each update. I now use the iPad version and love it as this is my detailed money tracking app. It keeps me on top of bills due, up coming bills and my balances for all of my accounts. I would recommend it to everyone. No need to waste time testing other apps. I've done it and like this one. One thing really surprised me is when I had a problem with the app in the earlier years, I got a quick response from the owner who helped me. The issue was resolved in the next update. Best Money Monitoring App Out ThereI needed an app that would let me manually input my income. As someone whose income comes mainly from tips, I had trouble with most of the mainstream apps that connect solely to your bank account. They often do not let you input manually any cash income so, what’s the point of using them if they aren’t an all encompassing, accurate view of your finances? This app lets you do it all yourself on a simplified interface for just a few bucks. The visual charts are awesome and make it easy for someone who is visually inclined to stay on top of things. Love it / updateLove this app, let's me record and track my expenses, I was used to useing Microsoft money years ago, so I've been looking for a good app that can do almost the same if not better than what I was used to useing, the only thing I don't know how to do is link it to my account so I could balance my account easier. Update: app is not consistent, doesn’t move bills from one month to another even though you set it on monthly repeat, you change 1 thing and it’s all messed up, doesn’t leave you the part your working on, you have to constantly sign back in and close out the home settings to get back to where you want to work on. A great way to keep track of income & expenses!I use this mainly to keep up with all my side jobs and expenses. The latest update kinda of muddied things up by adding features, which will be useful I guess, but all the last entries have an Unknown category now. So, unless I go back and change each entry manually, they won’t be updated. I wish there was a search option when choosing an account. Currently one must scroll through the list to the account desired. Not a problem unless the list is as long as mine is! Would be helpful to be able to start typing the name and have it show up. BEST FINANCE APPI have downloaded countless apps that are similar and this one by far has all the features I have wanted. Aside from having the ability to automatically sync your accounts live, you have complete functionality to a full check register virtually. Great budget trackerLove this app because it allows me to keeps track of my budgets for spending and saving accounts. It’s also a great trackers for paying bills on specific days you’d schedule for reminders. My only feedback is that with this recent update I am not a fan of the auto-population of the long list of category types being expanded on every added entry or scrolling through the list of options because the font is larger now. Other than that this is an extremely powerful resource to keep track of your spending, savings, and bills! Great for being in control of how things are documentedI'd looked for a good app for tracking balances for a long time and been very frustrated with the apps that either wanted me to hand over my bank info to guess what I'm spending money on or adhere to an impossible structure for someone like me with irregular cash flows. Fixed for meI’ve loved this app for a long time the new update really through me off. The reports section had been messed up for me. But it turns out that it was just a setting change. They responded fairly fast through the contact support in the app. I’m pleased this is a great app. Especially for those who mostly handle cash. Good app, but....This is a pretty good app but....I find myself not using it as much as I’d like to even though I paid for it. The issue for me is that when you input a dollar amount for example, $5.89 or $5.99 it will round it up to the nearest dollar ($6.00) and because of this the app then starts to reflect the wrong dollar amounts that you have available in your accounts. My concern is that using this app for budgeting my finances will reflect in me over drawing my account all because the app rounds up to the nearest dollar therefore it shows I have more money available than I really do. Perfect for meI have been using this app for years and it’s the best expense tracking app I’ve found. I really just want a place to track a few of my budget categories (groceries, gas, and mad money), my vacation fund, and extra money I get like tax returns and stimulus checks. Indispensable!I don’t remember if I paid anything for this app or not; if I didn’t I should have and if I did it was worth it! I switched to this app about 5 years ago after another financial app I used for many years stopped being supported. Once I made the adjustment to this one I was completely happy with the functionality and the additional features it offers. Best finance app availableI did a lot of research in deciding on a finance app. I wanted an app where I could enter my own accounts, input my own transactions, choose my categories, create budgets, reconcile, and export personalized reports. This app is the only one I found that can do everything, except the personalized reports (hence 4 stars). I love that I can easily keep track of my finances and also reconcile my entered information with my bank. Customer service is very helpful, too. I was having a hard time transferring data from the free version to the paid version, so I emailed the creators. They responded with detailed instructions helping me transfer the data. Great app for an amazing price! Must try!I have been always a person to manage my money since I was young. Trying different app after app and finally coming across this one. I tried the free trial and couldn't resist buying the pro features. For the price it can't be beat to buy but the quality of the app is outstanding to the various ways to track money. One area I would like to see changed is that when saving a payee, it would automatically save and go back to the menu unlike it does now. It does this on most screens when adding an entry. Just What I NeededWhat I like: 1. No data connection required. It’s usable anywhere, storing the data local on your phone. 2. Foreign Currency support - you can setup accounts in any currency. It will even compute exchange rates to give the value in your home currency. 3. Flexibility - fully customizable accounts, categories, and payees for fitting your own situation and style of financial record keeping. 4. Negative Expenses - it allows entry of negative expenses, allowing me to properly document the return of purchases. 5. Reports - I can easily see pie charts and reports of expenditures by category or payee for any given time period 6. Search - search for transactions by key word 7. Calendar view - see how much was spent on each day of the month, being able to drill down to the details 8. Picture - link a picture to a transaction What I don’t like: 1. The newer free version has lots of invasive ads. 2. Would like to attach more than one picture per transaction sometimes. I’m very meticulous about tracking my finances. I started spending a lot of time overseas and found it very difficult to keep on top of my spending, as all my transactions were in a foreign currency, in cash, and I never received receipts for my purchases. I then found this app. It allows me to setup accounts in any foreign currency, track my expenditures on my phone which allows me to track the spend as it’s happening, and it doesn’t require a data connection, storing everything local on the phone. The free version served me well for several years, having enough functionality to be very useful and do what I needed. The downside is that the current free version has a lot of intrusive ads that weren’t there in the older version. I’m glad I didn’t have to deal with those. I finally ran into the transaction limit on the free version and decided it was well worth the price to upgrade to pro, as I’m now overseas full time. Best ledger I’ve foundI’ve tried a few ledger apps. I need it being self employed and this is the most comprehensive I’ve found. It has bills with a calendar view you can alter so many details such as auto pay or if the transaction has cleared and tons more I can’t think of right now. It has a budget tab and it can tell you how much to put away per week to meet your quota. It has a bit of learning curve but after an hour I understood basically everything. Like this app lots!Have used this app for several years. I really like it. They made a few changes a few years ago that I didn’t care for, but creators were responsive to my questions, helped me to understand how to make them work for me and I have adapted. One thing that would be helpful is to add a transfer option into the add bill transaction. This would allow a transfer from a checking to credit card account. Found some bugsI recently discovered that recurring transactions which were scheduled to repeat monthly were repeating thousands of times with the same date and time. This was bad enough until I tried to remove the transactions. There’s no quick way to select and remove thousands of incorrect transactions so I would have to spend hours removing each one line by line. I tried contacting support but got the email returned. I’m not sure this app is supported any longer. I’ll try to find another app and discontinue use of this one. Highly recommendI’ve been using this app for many years. I love that you can upload a backup to Dropbox or export to a spreadsheet file. Some of the newer features are a little awkward (the payer is the most prominent text on every transaction, so if you’re like me and prefer to organize your spending by category without adding a payer for every individual place you spend your money, get used to reading the word “unknown” as the title of everything you do...) but everything works, and can be made to work for you. I love this app so much, it has been a constant in my life for the past 5 years. I can track all my transactions and make sure all my accounts line up. It’s easy to use and pretty to look at. The support team was also very nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this app for any one who wants to track their financials. And if you wanna try it out before buying their free version lets you see if it’s a good fit for your needs. Initial Complaint: I love this app and I’ve been using it for at least 5 years. I just use it to log my daily transaction so I can keep track of my spending accurately, using it to check against my bank accounts and so forth. Nothing fancy and the app took care of those needs perfectly, until the most recent update. Before, when you looked into your transactions you saw your who you paid your money to/got it from (payer/payee), the amount, the date and time, the account it came from/going to, and any other additional notes you had. Right now in transaction you don’t have the option to see the payer/payer information ie the person/company you’re paying or receiving money from, instead now you have the general preset categories like food or auto. It does show your additional notes though and yes I could put who I paid the money to in notes and it’ll display but then why have a payer/payee field if it’s not going to be used. I would like them to fix this display problem as now the app is less efficient and convenient to use in my opinion. When you look at your transactions you wanna know who your money is going to, how much, when, from where and why and they took away my ability to see who at a glance. Other than that I love this app and would love to continue using it. Also to rub salt in the wound the free version (non-pro) still displays the payer/payee in their transactions. Gets you involved in your money!This app is one of the best finance have some round. It doesn’t ask for access to your bank accounts, which would pull your bank data. This may be seen as an inconvenience to many people. But to me this is perhaps one of the best features. This forces you get involved with your finances. You have to sit down and virtually balance your accounts, budgets and books. Something that a lot of people need to learn to do. It can be annoying, gut turning, shameful and scary but it will force you to take your money seriously. My financial health has changed tremendous and each time l slip up this app reminds me to get it together. A couple suggestionsI sent an email to them through their website but haven’t heard back. Hiding reconciled transactions works, except if you choose to reconcile the account, all the cleared transactions are displayed. In an older version they weren’t, and they would disappear as you cleared them. That’s not necessary, but previously cleared transactions shouldn’t appear. My other suggestion is for the Bill Pay section. When clicking “Add a payment” instead of “Quick Pay”, the starting value should be zero ($0). Updated app wouldn’t workI loved this app before the update. After the update the app wouldn’t work, just continually said reopen app until app works. I tried this many times. I restarted my phone and tried it a bunch more times. Finally I had to reinstall the app, and all my data is gone. Not pleased. Though I suppose it was stupid of me to not make sure it was backed up to the cloud (I thought it was). Edit: I really like the new features. After 3 years.....I love this app!This app helps me keep track of all my accounts and helps me understand where my money goes instead of wondering where it went. I can pull reports per month with dollars and percentages by category or by location. I didn’t realize how much I spent on online shopping, especially the online giant that promises 2 day shipping. Money Monitor has helped me stay on track with my budget and let’s me know if I overspend in a certain category. The only downside that I have experienced is that you have to manually key in everything. I wish it could connect to my accounts and auto populate information. Recurring bills reminder not reliableI’m using the paid version of this app and overall I like it to keep track of my payments and budget. But lately the recurring bills I have set up on the calendar disappear from the calendar even though I have then sep up to end years from now. So I have to keep checking on the previous months or my notes to make sure I don’t miss anything. So what’s the point of the calendar if it can’t keep track of what’s due. Organizational HeavenI absolutely LOVE this app and would be lost without it. Decent app but needs improvementsThe app does most of what I need except the ability to add split categories in one transaction. It’s a basic function they’re missing. In the last update, they also put icons over the reconcile checkbox by default, so that every time I want to reconcile a transaction I have to manually turn on the reconcile box, rather than making it a simple setting that can be turned on/off once. Money management 101From a young age my father always taught me to budget and track my spending. He's been doing it his whole life the old school way; with a pen, calculator, and notebook. Every night he sits down at his desk with his receipts from the day and subtracts the expenditures from his monthly budget. For many years I've tried to do it his way but I never had the discipline to do the calculations manually. I would put it off and always ended up not doing it at all. Many were also riddled with annoying adds that prevented me from using the app efficiently. I have been using money monitor for 3 years now and it is easily the most important and most used app on my phone. It allows me to track my spending on the go and meet my monthly saving goals. I budget meticulously and it pays off. I have saved lots of money over the years by sticking to my budget and not overspending. This app allows me to do just that. This app beats the competition because of its simplicity. I am able to split my monthly income into simple budgets for popular categories such as gas, groceries, personal spending, saving, charity, etc. I can also chose whether I want that budget to roll over every month, or not. When I buy something in the store I take my phone out and immediately subtract that expense from the appropriate budget and the app calculates how much money I have left in that budget for the month. This app gives me oversight on my budget anywhere on the go. It helps me make financial decisions with confidence like if I'm able to afford that shirt, or whether I can pay for a friend's meal or movie ticket. This app is amazing. Updated app is great!I used Money Monitor numerous years ago and wondered away to other budget apps. When I saw it had updated after a year or so with no updates, I decided to try it again. Does Everything Except SyncingI’ve been using this app for a couple of years now. It does everything I know to manage multiple accounts and more — except synchronization between my iPhone and iPad. I can export and restore from one to the other but that is cumbersome to do on a continuous basis, so I usually just stick to my iPad. Advanced budget trackerI used simple budget tracker before called smartbudget2. This application has higher level of funds tracking abilities, not just simple everyday transactions record of income and expenses. Money Monitor Pro Negative Reviews

New UpdateI’ve been using this app for years, and I’ve always loved it. They recently updated (v 4.0) it to give it a “fresh coat of paint.” I prefer the charm of the previous color scheme and logos that are now removed and replaced with a white background and many different colors. Unfortunately, my custom category for nights to the theater has been affected by the new logo changes; what used to be a pair of tickets is now an airplane. Also, the layout for the “Home Page” has changed, so that will take getting used to. I personally liked having the “Budgets” icon on the middle left, and the “Bills” icon in the middle. Maybe give us the ability to customize the layout of our Home Page? Furthermore, I am most disappointed in the changes to how the “Accounts” section is displayed. This is update now labels the transaction by the “Payer” rather than the “Category” or “Budget” option. I am disappointed in this change because I personally use the “Note” box to indicate what and to whom the transaction was made, and now many of my transactions’ headings are “Unknown.” Maybe an update to choose what labels are displayed as the headings? Additionally, I miss the ability to mark the transaction as “Cleared” or not directly from the list. Now, I have to go into each transaction to make this change. Poor customer serviceI have been using this app for years and have enjoyed it for the most part. However, the customer support for any issues I have had has been bad. They take forever to respond and don't give helpful information when they do. I recently asked why the ads kept popping up constantly even after I Xed out because I paid for the full version of this app a long time ago. Their response was to click the X in the corner and it should stop. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Um - that's the point. I've done that several times. Today I was balancing my checkbook like I always do and suddenly it said I had no transactions left. Excuse me? I paid for this a long time ago and am now having paid features removed from me, a long time user, to force me to pay a subscription? Bad updateI was trying to wait to review to adjust to the change, but I'm confident now that I don't like this app. The update erased many of the names of my bills to "unknown", so now I need to go through and reassign many of my payments. I don't understand why we added an entirely separate button to reconcile transactions instead of keeping it in the transaction cell. Something has glitched in my transactions because even when I reconcile, I'm off by a strange number of about $750. It could be user error, but then again, why did we change what wasn't broken. ***update- I discovered the error is because the application deleted entire payees and transactions thus changing my entire balance to date. I now have to rid the app of all previous data and essentially start over because even with saved transaction histories it will not input the old payees and transactions that it removed, so the back-ups are useless except for having as records. On top of that, I'm not even sure of every payee or transaction that was deleted because I refuse to itemize 6 months worth of transactions manually. That's what this paid app was for! I'm pretty mad right now.*** The lists are too busy. One of the reasons I chose this app so many years ago was for it's simple look and ease of transition between the different sections inside the app. For a new user, these things may not be a problem as they aren't used to the old version. As a paid user who's been using this app for several years and specifically chose apple products just to be able to use this app for my budget-keeping, I'm not happy with update.
