Need more chapters & stories pleaseLet me first start off by saying that I absolutely love this game. The ads really don’t bother me because you can close them out a few seconds after they begin. Only time I choose to watch the full ad is when I’m doubling my reward for X2 hammers (well worth it). However, as of right now, I’ve stopped doubling my reward because I have 261 hammers and nothing to build. There are only 16 “chapters” and for over a month now, when I try to go to number 17, it shows a black square and has “Coming Soon” above it. I’m on level 331, I’ve already done all my stories too and I’m caught up on my daily challenges. I keep playing the levels because I’m obsessed with this game but at the rate I’m going, I’ll have so many hammers that when they do release more chapters, I’ll probably complete them all in a day. Interesting, but the ads kill it.I don’t know what that reviewer saying there are no intrusive ads is on, but I can literally open the app and an ad plays right away, lol. Seems pretty intrusive if I can’t even open the game without seeing an ad. The first few rounds, there was just the little ad banner at the bottom, which is rarely an issue. I think we’d all be fine if that was how all the ads were. However, after I played round 5, ads started popping up nearly every minute. Yes, it’s usually after a round, but if you click around too much in the game, you’ll also get an ad. Now, I can barely go 5 clicks without an ad being thrown at me. Once, I literally closed the game because someone called me. I came back into the game and an ad played right away. That’s a first and I’ve been playing mobile games for some time. The game is a bit weird when you read the “clues”, such as a clue saying someone became “a gay” because his mother abused him. I didn’t know being gay worked that way, but okay. Like, are people only straight because their parents don’t abuse them? Like, what? 😂 Anyway, I don’t know how this game has such high ratings considering all the ads, but it’s interesting, I’ll give it that. Too dependent on AdsThe latest update has made everything too dependent on ads. It takes forever to collect hammers to add people to your new city. And the coins are now almost completely useless. Want to revive hearts? Watch an ad. Play an old daily puzzle? Watch an ad. Play a story? Watch an ad. Need a specific person in your city? Watch an ad. Double your rewards? Watch an ad. Do a timed challenge? You guessed it, watch an ad. I have THOUSANDS of coins and they do nothing. Wait— that’s a lie, they do do something. You can buy backgrounds and circular frames for your family trees. This is a feature NO ONE asked for and adds nothing to the game play. And now since the update, they’ve switched the location to skip ads. So if you’re trying to quickly get to the next level, sometimes, you’ll press the wrong button cause you got use to it being on the left. Now it’s on the right AND delayed appears. Mind you I paid the $10 for ad free. The ads are loud and obnoxious and even disgusting. They won’t stop using an ad with grotesque pimples and other body growth. I normally don’t write ads, but I use to really enjoy this game and the new update has ruined it..MelCallyVersion: 0.1.11

2.5 or 3 StarsI downloaded this game to my phone about 2 to 3 days ago. At first things were fine, they had adoptive children, interracial couples, which was great. However I would've liked to see more same sex maraiges, adopted kids in married couples, ect. There are also a lot of ads which can be annoying. After looking through other peoples reveiws it seems the 'No Ads' Pack doesn't actually get rid of ads. It seems to only allow you to skip through the ads. Then as you get to higher levels, inbreeding is deffinetly an issue in this game. If you like mini games it's great game because they have a town thing for you to do. However, they only have eight towns, others may come soon, I don't know. They have daily challenges and chllenge modes you buy with coins you recieve in the game. It's mostly good because it gives you other things to do, than the main levels. While the game has it's AI issues like the incestual relations, the no same sex marraige, ect, it isnt the worst mindless game to play. Interesting app, a suggestion to improveI truly enjoy playing this game. I usually play daily challenges and they are always interesting for me. And I totally agree that it shows a lot of ads, but this is what gaming apps are doing right now and it is not just for this game. I also have a suggestion for better user experience. As I mentioned I usually play daily challenges and since the number of people that I should find their correct place is a lot, it bugs me to find each person and drag it to the right place. My suggestion is if possible sort the people alphabetically, in this case it takes less time from user to find the person and it won’t be frustrating. Great Game But WAY TOO MANY ADSI downloaded this game almost 2 weeks ago and the first couple of days I was impressed, I liked it so much I downloaded it on my tablet as well. But the ads became just way too much, I even took the plunge and purchased the ad free version(overpriced btw) for my tablet thinking that would get rid of the ads and it did not what so ever so a waste of my $10. The daily challenges are better/harder than the regular game which I prefer. The regular game itself became very repetitive has you move up in level so that was beginning to turn me off as well. The matches in between I found unnecessary because matching couples together is just not that interesting to me. Overall it’s a great game, just needs some tweaks with the language and the ads maybe one or two per every couple of games just not after ever game you play or if you want to replay the daily challenges that you missed. Fun, As Advertised BUT TOO MANY ADSSuper fun game. The addition of the daily challenges is really fun but having to watch an ad before EACH one is ridiculous. These are not short ads either. 30-45 secs every single one. The no ads purchase does not completely erase ads and the app says so. It is only to skip ads that pop up as you progress through the game. So read carefully first if you’re going to purchase. Reduce the ads and/or reduce the steep fee of 9.99 for “no ads”. It should be noted that I am not against watching ads to progress through a game for free but this game wears down my patience and creates lull in gameplay which is a sure fire way for me to delete an app. Also some other reviewers mentioned the storylines. The storylines are pretty rough. Fun bug laggyFirst off I love the game. The clues are fun and you not only have to look at the clues but also the people. One time I saw a reference to someone having poor eyesight. So you’d know they had glasses. Another reference to being a farmer or having a beard. Just like someone else mentioned, I don’t care about building the cities. Just another way to get you to watch more ads. What I WILL say is I absolutely do not like timed games. Sometimes you get a level that is timed. And it’s not only timed but labeled ‘hard’? Games are suppose to be relaxing. If every level was timed I’d delete this game. You CAN spend coins to add time. But if you don’t have enough then you’re stuck. But what I wanted to complain about is the game is just laggy and sticky. You try to scroll through the clues and it doesn’t move. Or you try to move a person and it doesn’t move. I tried to close the game and go back in and my whole game reset! And it’s not like you can just remember. The clues are basically the same but the names are all different. I did run into a clue that seemed wrong. It said person X was someone’s mother but doesn’t seem to go in either slot?… idk.. I think that one got reset. Advertising is miserableI enjoy this game, and if I were rating it only on the game itself, I would probably give it five stars. However, the advertising is annoying to the extreme. The ads run a minute or more and there’s no way to escape from them. If you want to play the game, you have to endure their nonsense, and they are repeated; you have to watch several between game instances. What gets me is that I don’t understand the logic of those behind the scenes. If I am not interested in something, what makes you think that by forcing me to watch an extra minute of your ad I will change my mind? If anything, it makes me less likely to change my mind. I am disgusted and angry and resentful of what you are doing. What’s interesting is that I found Family Tree through the same kind of in-game advertising that I am complaining about, but I didn’t have to be subjected to interminable ads to click on it. It seemed interesting and I went forward. The other thing is that it is annoying enough that I am seriously considering uninstalling the game. Like it so farReally enjoying this game so far. Only on level 34 because I just started playing, so I don’t know how things operate at the higher levels. But so far, in my opinion, the ads are not overly intrusive, especially compared to other free games I have. I only have to watch ads between levels, and to get more freebies like additional free lives if I run out before my round is over, double bonus points, map building character upgrades, etc. For a free game that seems reasonable to me. The levels are fun and you can do “game of the day” which offers a higher level challenge, which is a nice option to try since I’m still at the lower levels yet. Plus you can go back in time through indefinite dates playing the “game of the day” if you want which is nice to have that option to switch it up between the current easier levels I'm on and something at a higher challenge level. I love that if I’m in the middle of a level and run out of lives, I don’t have to start the level over if I don’t want to. I just need to watch an ad to get more lives and I can renew lives this way until I finish that level if needed. You earned hatchets (their version of coins) as you progress through the levels, and you use these hatchets to make buildings to fill in maps for another game within the app. Have to play multiple Family Tree levels to get enough hatchets to make these buildings, so that part I started losing interest in a bit. Not a huge issue for me because that part is not a big deal to me, however if I were a person that was really into that part of the app, collecting these buildings and completing those little side maps, I could see where I might get frustrated with how long it takes to get those done because of how much Family Tree gameplay you have to do in order to get enough hatchets to build up those maps. but again, it’s a free game, so the process doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. I would agree with other commenters that there are grammatical errors at times, which to me, most the time is not a big deal. However there are instances, for example, where the intended gender appears incorrect (he/she) so the clue may be a bit confusing at first. No intrusive ads, game is as advertisedI have not gotten a single intrusive ad the entire time I played this game. I don’t know what all the other reviews are talking about. The only ads I’ve gotten our ones have willingly clicked on for in-game perks. Other than that, the only ads are at the bottom of the screen, and they do not interrupt my gameplay. I THINK I like this gameDecent game. I can handle the ads. No big deal. BUT, there is no way to pull up the game rules & review them once they’ve been shown the first time. For example: I know that the oldest sibling or spouse is listed first. What I DON’T know, is how I am supposed to list, say, grandparents/patriarchs & matriarchs whose ages are not given. Are males listed first? Females? I played one today and I knew FOR A FACT that my answer was correct. Could have been either ancestor, so it shouldn’t have mattered. I lost a life. I reversed them. Gets repetitive, Lots of ADSI absolutely love this game. It is so much fun and some levels definitely get your brain working. But, I am now on level 704 and I’ve been noticing A LOT of repeat levels. They only change the names, so it is extremely easy to remember the answers from previous levels. I wish they had more challenging levels. Also, the ADS;they are more tolerable compared to other apps but definitely annoying. It is after every other level. You can’t purchase no ads without buying a $10 coin pack. So that is really aggravating because i would pay for no ads if I didn’t need to spend unnecessary extra money. If the levels didn’t repeat so much this would easily be 4 stars. Great game but needs some workThis game is one of my most recent discoveries. I find myself daydreaming of playing this game while I’m working. My only complaint is on the levels of the office, or the dinner, the clues give absolutely no hint as to where these characters are supposed to be put. I enjoy the family tree option much more than the dinner or office as I end up losing those rounds more times than the regular levels due to lack of context in the clues. Great games with too many ads after paying to remove themI love the premise of this game but the coins you earn are useless. It's just annoying currently to fill in the towns that have no additional function. You should, at minimum, have the option to use the coins to buy more hearts. Paying $9.99 to "remove ads" is shouldn't require me to watch more ads to get more lives. Especially when there are times the grid reads the correct answer incorrectly because of the order in which I answered the clues. Additionally, there should be five lives instead of three due to the level of specificity for most clues. Too many ads, but otherwise goodIf you don’t pay to be ad free, then there are a lot of ads. Complete a level? Full length ad. Sometimes two because ‘we may show an ad while we load’. I had to hunt to figure out what coins were actually useful for. I think hints, but also skins and such. I am not one that needs the decorative frills. Perfection!I LOVE this game. It’s the perfect balance of fun and challenging. I hate games that are too easy and i equally hate games that are so difficult they’re not fun. But this game is challenging enough that it makes me think, but not overly complicated and difficult where you aren’t stuck for hours. Needs “pencil in” optionI have had a couple of times where the clue does not match the actual answer. Like I had one that said there were twins and Jesse is the older one, but Jesse was actually the younger one. It would also be nice to have a “pencil in” option! There are so many clues and names that trying to keep up with where someone might go gets confusing. Having the ability to pencil in where someone might go, without actually placing it as an answer would be nice. Love the game…but it has issues.I like this game much better than the typical logic puzzles where you are just crossing out boxes. Gets you thinking about family lineage. Problems: —The game constantly crashes and doesn’t save your last move in the level. You have to start the level from the beginning. —When you have to restart a level, all the character names have changed. ‘Angela’ looks the same and has the same occupation, etc. but she has a different name. This is especially frustrating when you are on a timed level, the game crashes, and you have to start over. —Paying to remove the constant, extremely annoying ads is not a once-and-done like most games. I play this a lot …great but one thing…This is currently the main game I’m playing right now. The pronoun errors are not so difficult but the one error that keeps popping up is regarding in laws. For example, there will be just 2 women left and it says “Sara is Carol’s sister in law”. Well that can go either way! I am My husband’s sister is my sister in law and I am her sister in law. You’re forced to risk an error and as someone who challenges themselves to be error free, this bugs me. Otherwise this is my go to game for time wasting. Unkillable adsI enjoy this game but I’m also encountering the bug (has to be a bug) where there are full-screen ads that simply don’t go away. Not that you can’t skip them early or whatever, but they just sit there vibing on the screen and no x, arrow, etc ever appears to let you return to the game. For the devs, IME these are specifically the ads that pop up mid-level after a short period of user inactivity. It’s one thing to have ads when you need a bonus tool or you reach a specific level, but this game adds an ad pretty much after each level completion. Great game with issuesI love the concept of this game and a lot of the features are fun additions to the main gameplay. I also love that you incorporate user feedback. To that end, I have a few suggestions. 1. Make the purchase options cheaper. This game isn’t mature enough to charge as much as you are to get rid of the (TERRIBLY FRUSTRATING) ads. I’m not opposed to paying $2-3 to remove ads, even for a month or 2, for a game I enjoy, but you’re asking for wayyyyy too much. 2. The ads are too much. They are the kind of ads where you have to click 5 times to get back to the game. This is frustrating and makes me search for alternatives. Idk how, but I’m sure there’s a way to choose what type of ads will go in your game - please choose more user friendly ads. 3. Offer a help/instructions menu. I find myself with questions that I can’t answer from any menu (at least not one I can find, so if it’s there, consider making it more apparent), and it would be helpful to have an instruction manual or FAQ section in the UI. 4. Some of the “step” relationships are incorrect. Often, a relationship that you call step-siblings, should be half-siblings (when they share one parent). Also, the ex-wife of your father is not typically your step-mother, unless he remarries her again, which would be hard to show in a family tree! The CURRENT wife of your father (who isn’t your mother) would be your step-mother. 5. This app uses far too much battery power. I’m not sure why it’s such a big app, but it uses up battery power faster than any other app on my iPad, even when I am offline or it’s only running in the background. Please look into this, since it is preventing me from using the app when I’m not near a charger (and, therefore making me less likely to pay for an upgrade). Again, this is a very fun game & I think you’ve done a great job of maintaining it - I haven’t experienced crashes or bugs, which speaks to your skills. Could be betterFun for the most part, except the random family wreaths that keep being thrown in. Statistically it's likely to happen, but I don't wanna think about cousins or stepsiblings having children when I'm playing a mobile game. Pop up ads!! 😡This game was so much fun when I started playing it, honestly never even played to build towns or whatever you are supposed to do, just played for the family trees. Now I can’t play for more than 2 minutes without a “Crazy8” ad popping up in the middle of the game and WILL NOT GO AWAY. I tried waiting it out and I even tried to just play through the ad just to see if that would make it go away and it doesn’t. Great fun though inaccurateI love this game and play it regularly. But it has some inaccuracies that are humorous and somewhat annoying. Developers, please note!!! If someone has one parent in common genetically, they are half siblings, not step siblings. Step siblings have no genetic parent in common. This error is repeated over and over. The other thing that’s annoying is using singular verbs when it should be plural. There are some other grammatical errors not worth bringing up. InbreedingIt is quite aggravating constantly seeing the couples are children of siblings or first cousins who marry each other. They need more adversity. It would be better to have them spaced further away in relation if you want to wed relatives. So instead of wedding first cousins wed third or fourth cousins. Same with half siblings. Unless the families live in Alabama, it is illegal and frowned upon in most places. Not to mention all the ads. You don’t need to put a forced ad after EVERY SINGLE GAME LEVEL! Literally the best game everFirst of all, this game has no ads even if you have Internet. I’ve never found a game that has no ads but this one doesn’t. Second of all, it’s a fun family friendly game. Me or my kid can both play this without worrying about it being inappropriate. Third, you can play it even if you don’t have Internet. But what made me delete the game is that when I would make a mistake, it would cost too much to continue the level. Would love to keep playing, but…This game is starting to get boring. I’ve finished all of the levels and now just playing to build up so I can build when new “coming soon” towns pop up. Redundancy is boringI like this game. It’s interesting. My issues, however, are (1) the text is so small. I’m playing on a phone and I can barely see the words and (2) I keep repeating puzzles, the only thing that changes are the names. I just completed today’s daily puzzle and I didn’t have to read or think about it because I’d just completed it a few hours ago. Now it’s starting to getting boring. They also repeat through the levels not just the daily puzzles. Too many more repeat puzzles and I’m deleting. This is awful for a cool game and (3) what is the purpose of the coins? There are only 24 challenge levels. The in-game purchases feature coins as if it’s a deal but why would I pay real earned money for something that will just be a number sitting on the screen? Too many ads and inaccuracies.As everyone else stated, way too many ads. And honestly, the ads wouldn’t seem that bad if they weren’t so long. Ads Are Disruptive to GameplayI’ve enjoyed about 75% of this game. There are bugs here and there that are pretty easy to navigate (such as in game glitches that go away with a scroll), but the biggest game issue I’ve had so far is the ad that plays after every completed game. If you don’t close out of it manually in time, it will freeze and you can’t click the X at the top right off the ad. It forces you to exit the app and refresh, but that means the game you just finished isn’t saved. I’ve had to replay the same level at least 7 times because of this glitch and it’s making me want to stop playing for a while. I may not have yet found the uncle Z's name, but knowing where the the same worded clue fits into the puzzle, I can prematurely fill in Y for the nephew. Can’t Avoid AdsThis game is pretty fun but there are ads after every single level. Normally I am happy to pay to remove ads from fun games so I can continue playing but the developers are either extremely optimistic, overly greedy, or both. Not only are there ads, but there are also pop-ups for bundles of extras and you’ve got to close several windows after each level. English is very poorThe developers’ English skills when determining gender and gender relatives are so poor that it makes the game too convoluted.
