Giving 5 Stars!Love this version of mahjong! Been playing awhile. No problem with this game. Love love it! But despite rarely posting reviews. Digress. So putting this on every one of my games that I see the Candy Crush AD. They’ve lately been popping up on every game I play and they hold you prisoner past the little waiting line at the bottom to watch their stuff….then you try to exit “after” respectfully allowing them to show their stuff and they redirect you out of the game to the App Store so you are forced to escape “everything” to be back at candy crushes candy….and you just stare at it…looking at their candy forever. The other ad’s display a normal decent show and then let you decide yay or nay for now. Candy crush may be desperate. It makes me dislike them. And wouldn’t download there stuff simply due to BAD taste on their part for rigging up a prison hostage to watch there ad. Btw, before all this years ago I did download there game and it simply wasn’t for me. So, it’s not like I’ve never tried their game. Get it together Candy Crush. Only there ad so far is making me just stop playing my games and back out come back later when Candy Crush hopefully goes to sleep. Gee whiz. Like holding people staring at there ad forever would make “anybody” want them MORE. Isn’t the point to entice people with a pleasurable experience. Haha! Gotta laugh. What HappenedI really enjoyed playing this game and played it a great deal every day. I was somewhere around the 3400 level when it loaded an app about signing up to earn daily cash outs for trying out apps. It would not let me out of the page or return me to the game, like it usually did for all of the other ads. Which I don’t understand why people who play this game, say that there aren’t any ads when there definitely are ads. They don’t last more than 30 seconds and so they aren’t too annoying. You have to view them to be able to move to the next level of the game. So as I mentioned, I was somewhere around the 3400 level, which meant I viewed almost 3400 of them for various games, products such as women’s under garments, toilet bowl cleaners and other household or personal products. I didn’t mind them as I enjoyed playing the games and knew because it was free, the developers needed a way to pay for it. However when I couldn’t move on from the earn cash app sign up and I didn’t want to participate, it left me no choice but to the delete app. It made me both mad and sad to lose all of my progress and even more so to not be able to play this game anymore!! If there is anyway that this can be fixed and all of my progress restored, I’d like nothing than to be able to continue playing the games. Please let me know if this can be done..Version: 2.48.0
Loved it at first but..So fun the only thing that made me delete it and never want to download again is that around all holidays if forced holiday themes on the tiles and while that can be fun, a lot of times I don’t want to be forced to “celebrate” these different US forced holidays. I just want to play it and escape and relax from the world to the game. The quotes and levels and everything else is fun but not the forced holiday themes. If you’re gonna get creative with the graphics could you at least do some different options for the users to choose? Instead of forcing the holidays that not everyone wants to celebrate or have shoved down their throats? **update: thank you very much to the ppl from the app for responding and understanding my concerns! That would be very awesome if my feedback would be passed to the product team. I really do love the game and do enjoy the fact that there are always creative updates happening to the graphics but again would love it even more if the creative updates were additional options to the users playing, to customize, making it a fun thing, rather than being forced. This is the Best Version!My mom got me started on this, and it is so fun. It is so calming and relaxing. It says you’ll sleep better at night when you play this 20-30 minutes a day, and it’s not a lie. I have major insomnia and take medicine for it and am still struggling to fall asleep or get good quality sleep, and after a few months of this it’s actually made a significant improvement in my ability to fall asleep and get good rest not waking up exhausted. This is the ONLY thing that has changed during this time. It’s a fun challenging game to work your brain which was why I liked to play it and still why I enjoy playing it, but it’s claims to help with sleep and calm the mind is truly 100 percent accurate. It’s just an added bonus for this game. I like this version the best of them all because it’s easy to see all the cards and the colors aren’t a strain on my eyes (also have an astigmatism as well and wear contacts) and they’re calming. I enjoy the journeys a lot as well. It’s also super easy to get shuffles and hints. This is my absolute favorite game! I play it enough that I got the lifetime no adds for $4.99 and was worth it! I never purchasing things in apps but this game has been so enjoyable and helpful for my sleep was worth it. Highly recommend this game!.Version: 3.2.0
Like Game, Hate Being Called SeniorSo far I’m enjoying the matching tiles. But I do have a bit of a problem with being designated a “Senior Citizen” in front of the whole world. I’m not a little old lady with white curly hair, sneakers and a cane. OK I am 70 but I have long dark hair, violet eyes, outfits to die for and a wicked look in my eyes. I haven’t started to lose my memory or cognitive function yet but I feel that anything that can help sharpen my brain and reactions is a good idea no matter your age. I also have a feeling that this game could become boring down the road unless there’s some challenges ahead that I haven’t seen yet. I’ll update later after I check out what this game offers in the future. You’ve updated this a bit. Didn’t have the 4 squares as holders. It’s taking me a bit of time to adjust but I think it’s challenging. Some of the phrases that pop up are confusing but I never have played mahjong in the past so I’m getting used to the game and trying to adjust. I have mede it to over level 2000 butI was wondering if other people have the same problem as me. So i went to the reviews to look. How deceiving. It looks like all 5 stars, no 1 stars until you ask for the most critical. Oops. There are a bunch, just not shown in the graph. So my problem is every game is either worth 4 points or 8. And i. The middle of the game it says bonus points, finishes off my tiles and i have no control , i cant stop it from finishing then i only get 4 points, what the heck? Why is the game taking over, then not rewarding me as it says. This is the second time i downloaded this particular game. No ads is really quite funny after every game. Some of the ads say YOU WIN A REWARD, good luck on that. In fine print it says after completion of entering and you cant get the ad off the screen without closing the game completely then reopening a new session. A lot of the ads are for google wanting to download Chrome. Repetitively over and over I think it is time for me to find a new Mahjong game with different developers who dont double talk. When you say no ads that means what it says not, well to get rewards we have to do an ad. No means no. I dont pay so understand that is what pays your bills but i also believe in honesty. Candy Crush Ad and others are RIDICULOUS!This is the second time I’ve updated my Monday comments because I just sat through a three minute ad so I could 4X my rewards but it got stuck and required that I do a survey of some sort! I couldn’t get out of it so I closed the app and now have lost my rewards! Stop this nonsense or I’m definitely switching to another app. I see that I’m not the only person having trouble with Candy Crush popping up during gameplay BUT I SEE THAT THE ONLY THING THAT YOU HAVE ADDRESSED IS TO APOLOGIZE FOR HAVING ADS. YOU IGNORED THE CANDY CRUSH PROBLEM JUST YESTERDAY! No other replies to all of THESE COMPLAINTS? Why? Are you fixing it? I doubt it or you would have said so. I love this game but the fact that I have to close the app just to get out of an ad is ridiculous. I love this game but this past week you’ve started randomly inserting Candy Crush ads IN THE MIDDLE OF MY GAMEPLAY! What’s up with that? Fun and relaxingThis games is fun. I wish you could pay for no ads. I might do that but there are problems. The auto match feature is just the absolute worst feature. It’s not helpful. Sometimes It match’s cards for you automatically because you are on a combo, but there have been times where it matches the wrong set of cards and makes the puzzle impossible to finish. For example what if you had 4 matching cards, one on the top layer and 3 on the bottom layer. But the top card is stacked on top of one of the bottom cards, so to solve the puzzle, you have to match the top card with one of the 2 available bottom cards. Otherwise if you match the 2 available bottom cards together instead, then you won’t be able to solve the puzzle because the top card is stacked on top of the remaining bottom card you are supposed to match it with. The auto match when you are getting combos sometimes matches the 2 bottom cards together, leaving the top stacked on the bottom. I want to solve the puzzle, not use the shuffle or anything. This has happened many times. And there are other situations like this, that is just the easiest to explain. Please remove that feature, or give us the option to disable it. Helps with sleep 100%, especially dreaming!!!I haven’t really been getting good sleep lately, but on the days I play this game even if it’s just one night, or especially if I play consistently for two or three days I sleep really well. I dream, and when I wake up I actually remember the dreams. I don’t know if it directly correlates to the game, but I went a long time without playing and also went a long time without dreaming. I’ve been playing again for about eight days now, and I’ve dreamed every single night. I wake up remembering them, and it’s honestly kind of wild. And apparently dreaming and recalling the dreams is based on your memory so, yeah, I really do think this game help!!! I really love this game. I love the hard levels. It really keeps your brain going, and I find myself constantly wanting to jump in and do a level here or there throughout the day. Sometimes at night, when I remember, I’ll end up playing like seven levels, and by that point I’m tired and actually ready to go to bed..Version: 3.6.1
Give us options please!I started playing Vita Mahjong in September 2024 and I loved it. There’s a good level of challenge that keeps increasing so keeps me on my toes. I loved the variety of doing the challenges, Daily and Journey. Past tense because Journey and Daily were taken from me when I was put in the Epic League. I’ve been up and down from bronze to glory. The first time was fine, I liked the increasing challenges. But after Glory there was nowhere to go! All we can do is keep repeating the same pattern or pick a level we like and stay there. Meantime many players continued playing the original challenges, Journey, Tasks and Daily. I miss ALL of that. It would be great if you could give us an opt in to the essentially two versions of mahjong you’ve developed. I’ve heard from so many people say they’d love to be able to opt in or out of the two versions. It seems like it would be possible to do and there are MANY players who would love to have that flexibility. It would keep so many players from deleting your app. They all say how much they loved the game, but… Giving us choices would bring so many people back who want to play Vita Mahjong!.Version: 3.17.0
Fun…but has issues!I’ve been playing this for over a year now, and it’s a very fun, addicting game. Challenging in a better way than most. Several issues I’ve noticed is that the game seems to try and keep playing “in check”, meaning there have been times I’m playing and being very successful, and then all of a sudden “play values” are drastically decreased. In other words, I’ll be be solving puzzles and moving up the ranks every game by a few points; then for every solution I earn maybe ONE point, or I earn points but my rank decreases…while other players are staying where they’re at. It’s not like someone all of a sudden bursts onto the scene, skewing the algorithm. Another frustration is something that just occurred this morning; I’ll be playing and earning “redos” and “resets”, then if i win a daily challenge. That earns 2 resets and 2 redos (or undos); but it doesn’t ADD those winnings together; it wipes out the existing earnings and only shows the winnings from the daily challenge. Kind of removes the desire to win a challenge if you’re only going to be punished for it. Stop manipulating the games and let honest people rise or fail based on their ability, that’s all I ask..Version: 3.23.0
Great Game, Could Be BetterI have been playing this game since November 2025 and enjoy the game’s esthetics and music. Game play could be improved if the special level’s codes would be corrected to not intentionally stack the two special storm tiles in a way that is impossible to solve causing the player to use a shuffle or restart due to no game play error on their part. This has happened several times and I’ve even taken screen shots. I also find it slightly frustrating that the highest bonus score you can get on the Journey levels is 4 but on regular levels it’s 8 because it’s easier to gain first place via the regular levels (I’ve played over 2600 levels combined) but if you want the Journey Achievements you are stuck only getting a maximum of 4 points no matter how well you play making it harder to achieve first place if you’re going for the Journey Achievement trophies. Anyway, I’d also love if they would develop a paid version without ads. I found a way around the ads, but it would just enhance the user experience to not have ads pop up and ruin you getting your bonuses..Version: 3.14.1
Looks like it’s goodbyeI’ve been playing for awhile… over 6300+ games now. Been enjoying it, but I think that’s over now. Today, playing with the most recent game update, I found the game adding in additional blocking tiles during the game. One of the features I was enjoying about the game was the lack of time pressure. I could play at my own pace. But it appears that has changed. Also, why do you advertise that the game has no ads when it has tons of ads, often during a single game, and now the ads open up internet windows on its own. Also, there have been ads that have blocked the bottom line or two. I have given feedback that they are covering content, with no results. There are ads that have tiny “x” in the far upper corner very close to the edge and it doesn’t close out the window of the ad. Or, there is no way to close out the ad, and had to reboot the game in order to move on. Not to mention that you spend more time waiting for ads to end than one actually playing the game. The ads, which are mentioned in so many of these reviews, are a real problem. There are lots of mahjong games so I might as well try them..Version: 2.34.2
Not sure about these changesI have been playing this game for a few years now and it’s been my favorite but I really don’t like some of the changes made recently. I greatly appreciate the amount of work that the developers have been putting into this game to draw in more players. BUT… I think it’s hard on the players you have had. I don’t like how playing a regular level now forces you into a challenge. It causes emotional stress to see yourself pitted against others after each game. I know the goal is to get the player to play more games, but I simply quit playing. I liked the Daily games but the monthly badges are the same from year to year. Not worth it. And now all the new Journey Badges have these “cutesy “ kid faces too much. Hate it. One new thing I did enjoy that disappeared was the entire game board of red tiles. I guess it was not popular. Thanks for letting me provide feedback. Edit - New change? On the daily game toward the end, it hits a “breakthrough” and cleans up the board. I kind of wish it gave the option of doing that. Brain teaseI’m a 67 year old retired totally disabled veteran it’s a known fact being primarily housebound especially a older person like myself causes memory impairment issues and it can make a person far enough on the fringes of society delusional…my Granny died at 88 years young her mind was sharp as a tack bc she always did the daily crossword puzzle that came in the newspaper…when your mind is gone for all intent purposes the person no longer exists..Vita Mahjong is an excellent way to stay sharp and recognize things for what they are ..selecting shapes colors and inconsistencies…to my knowledge the old saying there’s more than one way to do something I don’t think applies to VM as I have only observed one way to solve this puzzles…it can get you figuring strategies and anticipating what you’re selecting will achieve victory over the game in a timely fashion…highly recommend it to people getting along in years like myself keep your mind sharp and stay in control of what you want to do with your life.Version: 3.1.0
What Happened?I have been playing for several months and decided it was my “favorite” game app ever, recommended it my sister and friends ……then a couple of weeks ago it felt like the game had changed and not for the better. I understand watching ads is a given with free apps…. But heavenly days taking you away from a relaxing, enjoyable moment to the most annoying ad that will not let you go back to your game. Some ads like Farmers Dog are perfect and I’m sure are profitable to the app. The traffic congestion game is the worst, in fact in frustration I usually leave the game. The other one I particularly hate is the one with homeless mom and baby, complete by snot coming out of baby’s nose. HOW DEPRESSING. Please consider your previous format or something comparable. NOT as free as promisedAd for this app said it was ad free. Then after reaching level 10, guess what happened? I don’t like being lied to, and that’s my issue. I don’t expect any app to be truly free, they need revenue somehow. This is a fun game and the ad wasn’t frequent at all. Please find a way to advertise your game in a truthful way. I knocked off two stars for the broken promise. UPDATE: Received a developer response. Apparently “Ad Free” actually means no pop ups. That’s news to me. And also, apparently the lack of pop ups means game play is not interfered with. Well silly me, my game play seemed interfered with when I received an ad at every level past 10. You know, the kind if ads that require 8 clicks (yes I counted) to get through, some of which make you wait to click. I literally found myself spending more time with the ads than playing the game. They rely on ad revenue, hoping to find the right balance, yadda yadda. I really do get that they need income from some source. But the right balance? Great, but the ads are awfulUPDATE: I appreciate the sincere response to my first issue. The ads have not stopped and still show after every game. They recently have updated the tiles and made the game more difficult, which I enjoy. However, the levels never end so there is no opportunity to earn shuffle and hint points. This is rather frustrating. My concern is that this reward system is on its way to being only available if you purchase it. If so, that will be extremely disappointing. If it’s just a glitch, I hope it’s fixed soon. I downloaded this app as a way to unwind and destress. My dog recently passed away and any time I become sad, this has been a great way to distract myself and keep busy. However an ad after every single match is overkill, completely ridiculous. It’s so annoying I feel I’ll eventually stop playing if it keeps up. An ad here and there, after several matches is understandable, but this recent decision to put one in after every match is awful. Annoying TournamentsI genuinely enjoy playing Vita Mahjong and have spent a lot of time with the game because the puzzles are relaxing, engaging, and well-designed. Initially, I really loved the overall experience. My biggest frustration, however, is the automatic tournament enrollment. I understand the developers likely added tournaments to encourage competition and increase engagement, but not every player enjoys that style of gameplay. Personally, I play simply to complete puzzles, relax, and move on to the next level. Being automatically placed into tournaments that I never chose to join takes away from that experience and honestly becomes more annoying than motivating. I really hope the developers will consider adding an option for players to opt out of tournaments entirely instead of automatically enrolling everyone. I think giving players that choice would make the game much more enjoyable for those of us who prefer a more casual, stress-free experience..Version: 3.20.0
REPLAYING LEVEL MAKES THE LEVEL EASIER :(I would love to rate this 5 stars because I do enjoy playing this game enough to commit to the ad free version. But it drops an entire 2 stars for me simply because any time I do not have any more moves and have to replay a level (which is totally fine) the moment I replay, I have noticed the board is laid out WAY easier than when I originally attempted the level making it almost guaranteed I win on my second attempt. I can understand it doing so on if you use a shuffle in the same attempt but replay / restart should be consistent with the original attempt, not easier. Not sure if it's a bug or intentional (hoping a bug) but if that changes, this is a 6 star game! Even though my 3 stars probably wont make a difference since there are 1.2M reviews mostly 5 stars and even though seem to be the only one talking about it, I hope that this can be updated and not just "taken into consideration" like every developer response says in this review page. Love it!Within just a few days of playing this game, I’ve really enjoyed it and one thing I will note is that compared to other games where the companies will milk it for profit and make it harder for you to finish a level, this game does not do that. Yes, there are ads to watch but I’d rather watch an ad than have the perks/methods be a one time use only or purchasing something using real money. I also love how there’s different themes for the tiles and there’s an event every day to win rewards. Highly recommended for anyone who likes a good challenge! Although, I do wish we could have the choice to opt out of playing competitively for an event and automatically being ranked against other players rather than just playing individually. Don’t get me wrong, I love competing but there are times where I just want to play for fun lol. But other than that, very pleased and hope this game never goes away..Version: 2.63.2
Love itKeeps my brain sharp and I have fun playing. It’s fun to play the daily challenges. I didn’t know I had such a competitive side to me but apparently in this game I do. I wish we could see the overall scores of where we are in conjunction to all the players or in correlation to the top players even. More than at the round level of each daily game. I like being able to see how many times we have won each daily challenge but an overall leader board would be fun and encouraging to keep playing also. Another bit of feedback. I find the clouds and the little figure that pops up when your matching to be irritating it covers up the board when you are trying to match quickly as you know the matches aren’t timed but are, and I like seeing how fast I can match them but these things impede that and are irritating at best. Plays different on iPhone & iPad-UPDATEI’ve been playing this on my iPhone and love how it plays with a tray to place 2-3 tiles temporarily. I put it on my iPad and it’s totally different - no tray. It just plays like all the other Mahjong apps - just match tiles. Why are they different. My profile is the same on both my devices, and my level of play is synced between the two devices. My 5 star rating is for the version with the tray. Now the games are synced between iphone and iPad. However, when I open app and start a challenge the timer starts counting down from 24 hours. When I play a game really fast (1 or 2 minutes) - and look at the scoreboard, someone is already at 24 points. This happens every time - like the challenge is rigged with fake people. I am on level 1000 and have won 14 times, so I’m enjoying the game..Version: 3.4.1
Unclear about no adsNice game, gets ad heavy around lvl 30 and while they offer an in-app subscription to remove them, they do not tell you how long that subscription will last. 24 hours? A month? A week? while you have the app open (what happens if I play for 5 mins…)? It also auto-renews until the user cancels it. You have to dig thru the terms of service in tiny print in the phone app to find the Lifetime no-ads parameters. That service is set up outside the app thru their website (wherever that is). They’ve done a nice job protecting themselves legally. I think That being said, the music is nice and the game is pleasant. I’m borderline marking it down further b/c of the tiny-print “paperwork” I was curious about since I was considering investing. Much better would be to have a link to the website to read all this stuff, but maybe they’ve been sued b/c people don’t do due diligence before spending. Updated game changesIt’s a nice game. It’s very relaxing. I hate the update that they just made. I feel like there should’ve been an option on which mode of mahjong you want to play. They updated it to straight classic mode. They should change it to have both ways as game mode options instead of forcing everyone to play the classical way which is placing tiles at the top to clear the board. I personally preferred the matching the tiles only version and doing the daily challenges. I don’t enjoy having to move a bunch of tiles when I could just match them from the board like it was originally. Please update the game to have both game modes and not only this recently updated mode that it was changed to (or change it back). It makes me not want to play anymore due to this forced change. Y’all could’ve just added this mode instead of making the entire game this way..Version: 3.18.0
CompetitiveSo the game is fun. I really loved it until they promoted me to the next level and found out that if I wasn’t in the top 20, I would be demoted to a previous game level. So basically if I didn’t come in and play long enough to get in the top 10, I did not go forward to the next level and if I didn’t make it to a certain point I would be demoted to the previous game level. I started playing 19 days ago and came in 1st 19th games. So it’s not that it’s difficult or hard to do. I just feel like I’m pressured to be in the top 10 or even the top 20 every time I play. I enjoyed the game while it was just for fun but now that it’s at a competitive level it’s no longer fun. I earned that level and I don’t feel like because I’m not willing to play for hours that the level should be taken away. But that’s how the game works, so if you’re a really competitive person and you’ve got hours and hours to spend on the game, it’s for you..Version: 3.17.0
Too many ads and other annoying thingsThis is a great game but there are waaaay too many ads, even if you pay to be ad free. It’s frustrating. To make matters worse, many of these ads go on for what seems like several minutes with no way to opt out of them. And, again, this is my experience and I PAID to opt out of ads. Also, now there’s some kind of tournament going on (that you can’t opt out of) where you get ranked based on how well/much you’re playing … and you get demoted back to the lowest rank if you don’t play enough. It’s a bit demoralizing to go to bed in the top league and then the next day you open the game only to learn you’re been demoted back down to the lowest league all because you stopped playing to go to sleep. ChangeI love playing Mahjong games and I’d love to learn actual Mahjong one day. I have had this app for a very long time and loved playing it all the time (still do) but personally I don’t like how the game is now played. A year or so ago it didn’t have the little thing at the top where the tiles would go, you’d just click a tile and then you’d HAVE to match it up with a different one, now I feel like its just easier and not as fun, being able to work on like 2-3 matches at a time. When you used to just be able to do one it was much trickier, you couldn’t get to some of the tiles without matching one that was on top or next to it, and you couldn’t just tap on the tiles without matching to make it go to the little column and then match another two up. Personally I just think it was way better how it was, now it just feels like one of those other regular tile stacking games..Version: 3.21.0
Was Good Until a Certain PointGame was fun and relaxing up until a certain point. This was my late night play early morning wake up type of game. Once you get to the higher levels and they add the mystery tiles that generate tiles and stuff, it doesn’t seem strategic at all. You get stuck and there really is no way to win except by running down your power ups and hints by toggling them. I try not to use those as I actually do like a challenge and think sometimes going back or reshuffling is a cop out. I love a tough SOLVABLE challenge. The higher levels are just not that. If you found a way to make those more strategic then it would be a lot better. Maybe make it so you have two or three holding spaces instead of four and you really have to pick the right combo. A challenge is not where you just don’t have the pieces available at all and there’s no way to get them other than pulling pieces out of your holding spots.Version: 3.22.0

Good time and battery wasterLoved this game. Then it became repetitive. Same puzzle I just did when I locked my phone, came back, same exact puzzle but different pieces… yeah, got boring once you hit 100 levels. They also have a league play that only makes you want to keep playing. Way to go on the psychological pressure to keep at it. You won’t make a lot of points and the ads slow you down just enough to crave more for the next level. Almost made me want to pay them for no ads but why would I do that when they get paid just from the downloads and the ads. Well, it was fun while it lasted. Also, it drains the battery super fast. I can plug my phone into a charger and stream multiple shows and it will charge like normal. Play this game and the charger will say SLOW CHARGING. Fun game, but super misleadingThe game itself is actually pretty fun and kinda addictive. The puzzles are satisfying and it’s easy to get hooked. But honestly, there’s a lot of false advertising going on here. The ads they show on other games make it look totally different — the gameplay in the ad isn’t even close to what you actually get. It’s misleading, and if you downloaded it expecting the game from the ad, you’ll be disappointed. Then once you start playing, you have to sit through an ad literally every single time before a round starts. It gets old fast, especially when all you want to do is play a quick match. The leaderboard also feels fake. The “24-hour countdown” only starts when you join, which means it’s not really a live leaderboard at all. And when the game says things like “You beat 90% of players” or “Only 0.01% of players reached this score,” I’m pretty sure those numbers are just made up to keep you motivated (and watching more ads). That said, the gameplay itself is fun and relaxing. It’s a nice way to pass time, and the tile-matching is satisfying once you get going. Just go in knowing that most of what they advertise — and even what they tell you in-game — probably isn’t real.
