Jerusalem BibleI have used the Jerusalem Bible for more than 45 years (first the original French translation, then the English translations). As a Greek scholar I was particularly interested with the updated Greek text of the New Testament (which incorporated variant readings from different text traditions other than manuscripts that had been used in 19th and early 20th Greek texts of scripture. Having the modern language translations (French and English) of this updated text in the form of the Bible de Jerusalem / Jerusalem Bible was wonderful for teaching scripture and theology classes. And the notes that accompanied the French text represented state of the art scholarship. And it was wonderful not having to deal with archaic texts like the King James and Douay-Rheims when one simply wanted to do personal spiritual reading..AmbivatVersion: 3.1

Great app of a great translationI’m not Roman Catholic but I am a Follower of my Lord And Savior Jesus the Messiah. TJB has always been one of my favorite translations because it’s accurate (it’s easy to ignore and overlook obvious doctrinal biases when they occasionally appear), it’s hasn’t been dumbed down but actually challenges the reader to study and pray about what God is saying. Unfortunately, the publishers have never updated the font in its print form. I don’t know why but to keep publishing “photocopies” of the original edition, which has always been difficult to read, is now nearly impossible for me to read because the font is so small and the spacing so cramped. That’s why I love this app. I can make the font bigger or smaller and adjust the spacing. Thank you, Oleg, for bring back TJB to me!.Mtm1964Version: 3.0

The Jerusalem BibleBack in or around 1985 I got my first Jerusalem Bible while I was in the Seminary. Since that year I’ve carried around everywhere I go. It is strongly easy to read, follow and to understand. Currently with this digital version is also very easy to follow too. Thank you for keeping up on updating it. Old TestamentGod’s name is primarily used in the Old Testament & frequently. The use of the Hebrew spelling, Yahweh, in an all English Bible, is ridiculous & only serves to mislead the reader. It’s been said that this is the most accurate spelling & that out of respect for the divine name, the English spelling, Jehovah, should be avoided. However, this is flawed reasoning. The purpose of having the Bible in your own language is to promote understanding. Who uses Hebrew words in their lives? No one, unless you’re Jewish! Furthermore, Yahweh cannot possibly be the correct spelling because the vowel between the two consonants, H & W, is missing. You must have the consonant letters separated by a vowel. Many people do not know that God has a personal name. Is Jehovah the absolute correct spelling & pronunciation? No one knows for sure. But, it’s considered to be a reasonable way to identify the NAME in English, the main language for the world instead of disguising it, actually obscuring it, in the Hebrew language..JLSLINCVersion: 3.1

New Jerusalem BiblePlease note this is NOT the 1966 Jerusalem translation but the New Jerusalem 1985 English version. It may be just a title oversight since this is a newly released app. To their credit this publisher offers great apps well worth having and only small non- interfering commercials. Truly GREAT APP !! EXCEPT for ‘SEARCH’ BUG , will it be fixed ?This app with it’s easy and clean and useful and up-to-date features and visual appeal, is exceptional, truly, hands down. It’s a 5-star app except for this: One problem which is a big problem for research •I search •get my search results list •select an item from the list •read the item •go back to the list •the list is gone The app does not retain the search argument or the search results list. Multiple items cannot be chosen from it. It is necessary to start over each time, to re-enter the search argument, to select multiple items from the list. When dealing with a long search results list, this bug involves a lot of retyping, losing my place on the list, and a lot of re-scrolling to get back to where I was formerly in the list. It’s pretty daunting for research, inhibiting actually. Do you plan to fix this?
