Praise for Lifeline:
“I’ve played many games that I find engrossing, but Lifeline may be one of the first that changed the way I thought about my daily routine, which leapt off the screen and became a part of my lived experience.” - Eli Cymet, Gamezebo

“For a few brief hours I cared – really cared – about the fate of a completely fictional character. I don’t think any other game I’ve played has made me feel that way before.” - Matt Thrower, PocketGamer

Lifeline: Crisis Line Positive Reviews

OopsThis game has been fun so far, and I like all the times you have to look up information, but I have one issue: I was almost finished with the game when I went back to look at something at the beginning of the story, and I accidentally hit the arrows to go rewind the story. I tapped the x so it wouldn't rewind, but it went back anyway!! And now I have to basically start over and I am so sad. I've been working on this game for like 3 weeks. 😭 It would help if there was an option to go back to where you were before. Then I wouldn't have to go back and re-do 3 works of progress (it takes me so long because I am a full time college student and work 20+ hours a week). Please fix this for the future 😭.Version: 1.0.0

So goodI have loved this series since I stumbled on the first Lifeline game. Pros: This one was, I think, longer than the others, which has always been my biggest complaint about them. I really felt invested in Alex, especially because of the rough start I had (I think I killed him three or four times; hint- the ledge doesn't have a gun). I was bound and determined to get him through that crap. Haha. It felt like Alex really appreciated whatever help you gave him. Cons: Oh my goodness some of the waiting times. Like after the house. You know the one. Yeah. That one. I ended up using the fast forward option more than I would normally. That "best" ending was a bit unsatisfying. Totally worth the play through, but man. Now I want there to be more. And last, I want to address something I see a lot of other people are giving one star ratings about: the impact of decisions. First off, it's a computer program. It's not going to give you a customized response every time you choose an option. I would hope that's obvious. When you reach an "end of path" scenario, if you didn't get prompted to join the newsletter, you haven't finished yet. It's not a short story that you will play through in a few hours, especially if you don't have fast forward on, and if you do, then you finishing fast is your own fault. I am going to try one other path and see if my ending is different at all, but most likely I'll be circled back around, because that is the ending you are meant to get..Version: 1.0.0

Definitely worth itTotally worth the money, but ends in a cliffhanger, so I'm stuck waiting for the next one. Every character never gets a (true) happy ending, I suppose. But this one, this game- ends tragically. The true ending was extremely sad, but that's not a bad thing. I like that kind of stuff. There are a few problems with this, though. When you click a decision, tapping "X" makes it rewind to that point. It's misleading. Second, it's unbelievable that he can text so much during the story, maybe put on speech to text to make it more realistic? Third, (and this is only my opinion) when you play the other games, you know what's happening, right? Well, why can't we have a option that has us tell the main character what we know? It could really help if you can tell them that you know what the Green-Eyed-Woman is, or that Warping and Wefting isn't as dangerous as running on the fifth floor. That would be great, wouldn't it? Fourth, the soundtrack is amazing. If I could get it, I would. You're sitting on a gold mine!I don't think Alex is dead, with Crisis Line and FlatLine aggressively winking that he's alive. Still, we can only hope for the best, right? Maybe Alex and Arika can team up, and V.Adams, Taylor and Wynn be in a separate team also? (The end being where they all come together as a complete team) That would be so awesome, but is only just a suggestion. Anyways, I'll wait for the next game, I'm DEFINITELY buying whatever comes out next~.Version: 1.0.0

Interesting, amazingAlthough this may be a phone application game, that is the last thing it feels like. You play a Crisis Line listener. Alex is the main character you talk to; he’s a police detective that takes you on the case he’s currently working. I’ve found myself emotionally invested in his story, as well as the actions and decisions he makes. The only problem I have with the game is that I wish there were more options for things to say back to Alex. Nonetheless, I always find myself just checking my phone waiting for his reply. It feels like you’re actually talking to this person. It will definitely leave you on the edge of your seat if you’re someone like me, interested in crime/the paranormal..Version: 1.0.0

Great addition to the seriesJust finished this. Riding the wave of the ending. This is easily worth the asking price. I've played the 4 games prior to this and I got to say, this was the longest one by far. I really appreciated that. Also, there's more for you to do. More things to google, either because you have to or just to give you a sense of what things looked like. This took place in a real city in Texas and it was fun looking up all of the references. I would recommend playing the other games before this. Maybe not Whiteout (but then again maybe!). Otherwise a lot of the story will seem stupid. It isn't though, there was some phenomenal world building here. I liked the tie-ins to the other games. Like a few other reviews, I accidentally rewound the story about halfway through and was annoyed. I like the feature but it'd be nice if it was a little less easy to use. Since this was a mystery I wanted to look back and reread conversations. But that proved to be dangerous. That's my only real complaint though. I'm downloading Flatline next!.Version: 1.0.0

I need the next oneThis game series is amazing I have played most of these games so far and this is my favorite. I love how it immerses you into the story and game. It dos it so well with the waiting times and makes you feel like a real detective. The only thing I didn't like about the game was the limited choices in the mind blowing house and I feel like it made you google things a little to much this time. When playing without wifi or data which I tend to do it really puts the brakes on this tense story that you want to keep going. Overall this story is amazing and I highly recommend it. Please release the next one quickly 3mingames!!!!!.Version: 1.0.0

Intriguing story.I've completed almost all of the Lifeline games now, except for this and the new Flatline. There is definitely an overarching story between them all. I am completing this and Flatline at the same time. In Flatline the character's sister works for a Permanent Work Group or something along those lines. In this game, which I should have technically already played through, you hear mention of an individual from the Permanent Work Group. Plus the green-eyed "occupied" people have made an appearance in every game except Whiteout. I'm happy with this company's production. It seems like every time you turn around they are putting out a new story..Version: 1.0.0

Enjoyed this game--hated the endingThis was a unique and engaging game. Really got my brain working. It was buggy in some places--for example, I turned on fast mode to overcome a glitch, but even though I turned it back off, the game continued in fast mode. The only things I didn't like about this game were: 1) the random choices: I'd prefer the choices be based on things we learned in the story. A few choices at the end WERE based on the story--I liked those; 2) the endings stink. I'm sure they're intended to get us to purchase more games, but I felt like I went through the whole game for nothing..Version: 1.0.0

Futuristic Nostalgia At It's Finest! This game reminded me of books I read as a child. There was a series called, "Choose Your Own Adventure," in which the main premise was the same as how this game operates. Way to bring back the fun of the old days and present it in a user-friendly, exciting, new type of user interface! And with the watch version, gaming storylines are endless! From receiving texts from the game, to eventually viewing video content, this game is sure to live on due to its high level of plasticity. Excellent game! Novel idea! Never have enjoyed a cellphone game this much ever! Except for good ole "Snake.".Version: 1.0.0

More glitchy than the othersI enjoy the story and like the premise that you are on a crisis text line (I'm a therapist irl, so I love that!). However, I've found this app to be much more glitchy than the other Lifeline stories that I have played. I can't get this one to send me notifications that the character is responding to me even though I've messed with the settings and have restarted my phone. That is one of my favorite aspects of these games, so that is disappointing. It has also crashed on me a few times. That's the reason I have taken off a star..Version: 1.0.0

FantasticI may be a bit biased as I have played a few of the other lifeline games and enjoyed them immensely. Although I was pleasantly surprised when they took a route with a detective that you help. I enjoy the idea of a text based game and I think the creators did a fantastic job with handling this game. Although I would like to have more than two choices sometimes I think it works extremely well. I have enjoyed this game immensely and I hope that others will have the pleasure of playing and enjoying this game..Version: 1.0.0

Fun so far, one issueI just started playing, and it seems like a good one so far. There's just one annoying issue that I hope can be fixed. Reading of new messages with VoiceOver doesn't seem to work like it used to in the first three Lifeline games. The focus seems to jump randomly once a selection is made, and then old messages are read from that point, rather than reading the newest messages as they appear. I have to continuously use the gesture to jump to the bottom of the screen to read the messages. Please fix this. Thanks..Version: 1.0.0

COMPELLINGI’ve had this for a day and it’s so good I’m hovering by my phone for more notifications. Good luck out there Alex, I’ll be with you every step of the way. The storyline is rapidly engrossing and pretty fast-paced, and the wait times seem real. I am only withholding one single star because notifications have been kind of buggy for me (ios 11.1). They don’t come in like texts or chats, just are there when I open the app. BUT: if you’re looking to but this, DO IT!! I am sure the notification thing will be fixed and the story is so so worth it..Version: 1.0.0

Too much fantasySo far I've played all of Lifeline series. The first one about Taylor was ohmygodamazing! Everytime I saw the notification I grabed my phone eagerly, and I was really sad when it was over. BTW the design and UI and music were the best. Then there was something about a girl and there was already too much fantasy, I couldn't even finish it. And in this one, the Crisis Line, again, too much fantasy. From the beginning. I can't force myself to keep playing. People, please, make it more lifelike. I liked the snow, the cold, the surviving. Something that could've happen in REAL life. No more green eyes and clones and mages..Version: 1.0.0

My loveI love this franchise!! Like all the other games in the series, it's amazing, I grew really attached to Alex really fast, and I'm super invested in the plot! Every time they reference the other games I get really excited, the lifeline lore is really fun, I'm really excited for more info on everything!! (I'm hoping we hear more from the old characters soon, both because I'm very invested in their lives and happiness, and because I feel like if I'm introduced to anymore characters, my heart will explode from just how much I love them all.).Version: 1.0.0

Stop the auto scroll please!!!!I'm playiing the game now, loving the storyline! Only thing I'm disliking is the auto scrolling. In the previous games you could scroll back up a bit and read, even when the character is saying something to you. But this one keeps bumping to the bottom. When the character has like 25 things to say in a row (which is being pretty frequent) , it's very frustrating. Have to close my eyes so I don't read ahead and wait till I can sroll up again..Version: 1.0.0

Well OKAY then. This game, along with the rest in the series, is just about the most addictive thing I have on my phone. It's got excellent storyline, along with a wonderfully snarky/sarcastic commentary. Only problem, is, every single game in the series has ended with a cliffhanger. And while I'm quite eager to see what the "but this isn't the end! so-and-so still may need your help!" turns into, it's a small bit annoying when NO ONE gets a happy ending yet. Ah well. I will eagerly await the next installment.Version: 1.0.0

BuggyLoving the game, however there are bugs within it that need to be fixed. Notifications do not work appropriately, and I went back in my conversation with Alex and accidentally pressed on one of my options, bringing up the prompt for if I want to rewind, I hit x because I didn't want to & it rewinded anyway.. So now I have to start all over..Version: 1.0.0

Good, but theres a small issue…The game seems to be delaying, so i close out of it, open again, (and it sometimes has me redo one of my answers again) and it might or might not stop delaying, im not talking about the realistic-ness of the time frame, im talking about the fact that it seems to have a glitch. And sometimes it comes up with an empty page, and then may also take time to load. Which leads me to using fast mode, story line is so good so far! Also a repeat in the story line I’ve noticed..Version: 1.0.0

I've played all 3 other LifelinesI'm so addicted to the games!! It reminds me of the books when I was a little girl... You know the ones, you pick your own way through and see if you survived. Goosebu#%s has them out now to for the newer generation. The second one about the witch was a bit slow but I still loved it. This and the first was my favourite!!! These games take me out of my head!! 10 out of 10 stars..Version: 1.0.0

One of the bestI’m a huge fan of the Lifeline games and remember buying each one as they came out... I still have my Lifeline t-shirt. This was one of my favorites of the games. I wish we could see more to the Lifeline series, the cliffhangers on all of them are really sad... Maybe one day the series will get a revival, like its older games, and not some weird app where you need to pay to make certain choices....Version: 1.0.0

Great gameI love this game so much it’s so much fun!! This is the exact game I think is worth the cost!! The story line is amazing. Is there any chance there is a hint thing or a cheat vid if your stuck because i can’t get passed the Person corporation without him dying or being hypnotized!! Anyways like i said before I love this game those looking to download it definitely should, see if you are smarter than I am😂😂.Version: 1.0.0

Best one of the seriesI have loved every game in this series. That said, this is the first one I'd say is "5 stars" since the original. While it uses the same game play style in that it is text-based adventure, its plot, characters and storyline are completely different. Totally worth checking out for anyone who likes text-based games, law enforcement, or just good original content!.Version: 1.0.0

Best Lifeline yet!I loved the story in this one. I don't know how much variance there is in the gameplay (ultimately, there were a limited number of paths in the original) but I felt like my choices were meaningful and the story length was great. The ending was maybe a little abrupt, but that's par for the series as a whole. I feel like this installment also had the most well developed characters..Version: 1.0.0

Great with every game in the seriesThis game has sister games to it by the same developer and they are amazing. They all have an unknown element every time making each game unique. Never crashes and never freezes. What is also unique about this game is it now has a rewind button in the first part of the story when others didn't. It's more than a great game..Version: 1.0.0

Great game againI loved the Lifeline games, and this was a nice addition to the collection. Great story, but more difficult because you'd have to remember prior evidence when questioning a suspect. You find out more in Flatline that makes you want to replay this one. I'm excited to see how they all come together. Lastly, the cons: 1> he really should be speaking, not texting. It makes more sense. 2> I hate the compassion meter. At the end of the day, you saved his life. Does he need you to do it pleasantly? (Unless it changes if you're rotten?) And to other reviewers- If they add real voices, maps, photos, etc., the game will easily become $5-6. Be careful what you wish for..Version: 1.0.0

New FavoriteSecond only to the original Lifeline. This adventure forces you to think hard and recall previous conversations to make progress. Every detail counts, as would be expected for a homicide investigation. You'll constantly look at your phone, waiting for Alex to next check in. Highly recommended to anyone who likes intrigue..Version: 1.0.0

Continue Lifeline! This game was absolutely amazing. All the lifeline games are well written, and have great story lines that just pull you in, and I never want them to end. I got so excited when Crisis Line mentioned Arika. I can't wait to see what the franchise has in store for the future, and how the lore will connect the other characters. Great job again!.Version: 1.0.0

One of the best games within the App Store! All of these games are some of the best games within the App Store! They bring me back to the old Zork games for MS DOS. Nothing but text, and your imagination to paint the brilliant image that is illustrated for you. I'll be honest, I try to kill off the main character as quickly as possible to unlock "Fast Mode", but that's only because I'm impatient and I can't wait to read what the character has to say next! These stories, at least to me, are extremely immersive and actually feels as if you're helping someone else on the other end. For me, 5 stars all the way! KEEP THESE STORIES COMING!.Version: 1.0.0

Sometimes frustratingSometimes the options it gives you are super limiting and frustraing and the path ends for seemingly no reason. The other annoying thing is that there aren’t any remotely halpy endings. I have played every single lifeline in the series and it always ends terrible, which makes the player feel like it was all a waste of time. Still, I give it three stars for being interesting and spooky..Version: 1.0.0

HookedI started this game thinking I would hate it and I was so wrong. I loved learning more about the case and helping Alex discover the truth. I really hope we get to work with Alex more in future games because I enjoyed his character! The only issue I had was auto scrolling. Very worth the money!.Version: 1.0.0

"Absolutely Riveting"During the turn of events in this app, I actually felt like Alex was a real person and he really needed my help. It felt really intense helping a cop with a perhaps extraterrestrial threat and the whole story was absolutely breath taking! 5 stars! Keep up the good work, 3 minutes, all your games are amazing!.Version: 1.0.0

Very particular about certain steps.I got stuck a few times (repeating over and over again, no matter what I did) and ended up looking online for help. I fond out that even though what I was doing was essentially correct, there was a strange sequence of events that had to occur to move forward. i.e. Say this, repeat, wait, repeat, attack, etc. Overall it was fun playing sleuth, but part way through, you kind of knew (or thought) who the bad guy was. This one took me longer than the other 3 Minute Games, due to getting stuck for a while, but it was still a good game..Version: 1.0.0

MehCompared to the last two lifelines this is my second favorite the first being the best I loved the murder theme with supernatural and some throwbacks to lifeline 2 but the ending seriously not he lived happily ever after and theirs no way to change that horrible ending the ending sucked it was good up till then I mean the first one had a good ending and theirs no way to stop it like to find the crystals I'm really disappointed.Version: 1.0.0

Love it but...It's a great game and I love to play it. However, when I try to scroll up and remember information, I often turn my phone off because I need to do something or whatever. Then I go back to it and it resets to where I stopped scrolling! I was so close, needed a combo, but it's too late now..Version: 1.0.0

MehhhhIs it over? Is that really the ending? Am I missing something? I've played all the other Lifeline games and honestly this one seems a bit longer, which I appreciate, but the ending? I feel like that was a total waste. What did I miss? Based on this one, I don't think I'll be buying any more. I like the format, I always appreciate the humor, but overall I'm disappointed..Version: 1.0.0

HelpBot seems stuck...I wanted to see the game in a different language, so I picked one in settings...now the game won't load past the blue screen. No text. Just blue, with the HelpBot header on top, and the gear cog in the top right (which I can't access). Nothing is responding. Nonetheless, the game is AWESOME. Would download the next chapter of this story!.Version: 1.0.0

Love this one!!This flatline is much longer than the original one with the aliens, sometimes it drags on a bit much honestly but it's great to kill time with. The ending was a bummer and very confusing it was like an advertisement for emails from the company that made flatline..Version: 1.0.0

Not one of the better onesThe story is kind of bland for this lifeline. It's also more clear the writer isn't as familiar with this setting. Stick with the other games unless you're just a die hard fan of these. I wanted more... but I couldn't stay interested in this character over someone with personality like the others.Version: 1.0.0

Too hard.Ok every time I leave the Pearson corp. I die from Heckler following me. I stake out the place and if I say keep following Heckler he shoots me and if I say go to the address and go in the house I die again, and I have tried all possibilities for the house part and I still die. There are no walkthroughs on the game and when I do they aren't even near the part I'm at. I need help..Version: 1.0.0

Great Story..... Overpriced.I love choose your adventure paths and whatnot. The person on the other line seems to to be realistic, so I’m glad they added personality. There’s no graphics (at least not in the story I ended up doing) which means if you’re looking for visuals this isn’t the game for you. 8/10 at the story, but the pricing really lowered it down to a 6/10.Version: 1.0.0

BoringI did the first play and slightly enjoyed it . I finished the story and wanted more but I was let down. There only ONE story . With the same character and plot line. Boring and not worth the price. Well the games fun but it should have another story to do or the same story but another characters view.Version: 1.0.0

Great game, some glitches thoughThis is another great lifeline game, however i have noticed some glitches with the notifications. sometimes they dont show up and i dont know when to come back..Version: 1.0.0

My favorite game in the series!I have enjoyed each of the games, but liked this one the most. There is so much depth to the plot, and with this game, you have to think like a detective. I'm hoping there will be more games like this one on the way!.Version: 1.0.0

Immersive In-Depth GameWell worth the money. The story was AMAZING! The main character is very likable and it truly feels like you're helping a real person go through these events! Plot twists, characters with depth, a story that never lags- this game has it all..Version: 1.0.0

Scrolling problemsI loved all the lifelines! I played them all and I never had a problem with any of them. But I have to say that crisisline is kinda annoying me. My only problem with this game is the scrolling. Whenever I’m reading one of Alex’s text and he’s sending me something my screen jumps to his most recent message. Even if I’m holding down on the text that I was trying to read it still jumps all the way down until he finally stops. It makes it hard and annoying when I’m trying to read his texts. I have to wait till he’s done writing 1000 consecutive texts so I can start on the first one. I don’t know about the other players but I can’t read at lightspeed and I would really love it if the next game could let me scroll up while the character is still talking (like in all the other games). I love the story so far, I highly doubt that It will change by the time I finish it, but if you rage like me when it comes to being in control of your screen then maybe try the other lifelines (they don’t have this problem and they all have amazing stories). So to conclude, the game has me hooked but scrolling while the game is in progress can be annoying (still worth playing).Version: 1.0.0

Love this Story! Could be real!Although all the stories are amazing and I love these games ( I bought them all and played many more than 1 time ). I like the fact that this one is in a real setting that we could live and can litterally Google the stuff that they are talking about ! It’s really immersive and I LOVE IT 💖.Version: 1.0.0

Bug on Apple WatchOn iPhone , the game is really fun and works well, however on the Apple Watch it isn't always the case. Sometimes the game doesn't load on the Watch or load but isn't at the same point of the story then the iPhone....Version: 1.0.0

It's the "choose your own adventure" for adults! If you loved the "choose your own adventure" books when you were a kid, you will love this game (and all the lifeline games)!.Version: 1.0.0

Great game, only so-so lifelineAs a game compared to others on the App Store, this one is 5/5 as a franchise. More specifically, to compare this one to other lifeline games, id sadly only give it a 3/5. The concept is great as a detective investigating a murder that includes some paranormal elements - very intriguing. At some points, I could not put the phone down and waited on edge for the next msg from detective Esposito. However, I noticed many response options given to us were very vague and didn't offer much to his story with examples like "I understand" (which can be selected multiple times). This leads me into my next issue, which is the Helpbot. I think a lot of my answers (and even the response options given) are catered to the fact you need to be compassionate or you'll be scolded by Helpbot. At one point I felt Alex needed some tough love but alas I pampered him because I knew Helpbot would love me for it. To end it off on a positive note, this game is rich full of different choices that may lead to death or survival. Also, another thing worth pointing out was the extremely fun interviewing/interrogating process in this specific lifeline game. Can't wait to play the next lifeline!.Version: 1.0.0

Wonderful game still could be better tho!I found this one to tease my lore senses by putting in lots of nods to past games. While fun and clever that does make it confusing to new players. However my biggest issue is I had a really hard time believing a cop would be sharing so much information with someone he never met so it took a while for me to feel immersed. Also for god sakes if the catch is they're texting me make it seem believable like he texted me during a situation where his gun was drawn and like really guys????? Please remember small details like that cuz we have to imagine this in our heads and he is just texting at all the wrong times. I love lifeline and will continue to play but I felt like I should give a little feed back after being with it so long. Looking forward to the next game! Much love!.Version: 1.0.0

Waste of moneySuper boring, the other stories are way better, this one is boring and all I have to do is say okay, the other stories feel like real and I really care about the character's safety, this one is SUCKS don't buy it..Version: 1.0.0

Green Series SucksThe ending was absolutely Terrible, I Cried... I will fight you, Matthew Sturges, let's take this outside, right now.Version: 1.0.0

Addictive thrilling adventureMy favourite in the series so far! I loved the more challenging pieces and how immersive the whole game was! I feel like I lost a friend losing Alex. Thanks! Can't wait for more..Version: 1.0.0

I've really enjoyed it!So I've just finished the game, what I would say is that this game is just awesome!! For the past few days I could barely put my phone down and I just couldn't stop thinking about it..Version: 1.0.0

Great gameBest one in the series yet, cannot wait for the next one.Version: 1.0.0

Best one yet!I am thoroughly enjoying this latest instalment! It is an engaging storyline! You can truly develop a connection (no pun intended) to Alex. HelpBot is kinda weird... Still not sure of its function. I ADORE the references to past games. Little elements from each are all over the place if you pay attention! I love that it requires you to remember or scroll back and look at times. Also, the many requests for you to "look up" something make it far more realistic and engaging. Thanks so much for another one! I cannot WAIT for the next!!!!.Version: 1.0.0

Lifeline rocks!!Woohoo!! I love these games!!! I just finished and it was amazing! :).Version: 1.0.0

Lifeline + Murder Mystery = AWESOMEMy favourite of the series so far. I love how references to previous games are peppered throughout the narrative, but one does not need to know them to follow the plot and enjoy the game. The mystery is never cliché, and thrilling from beginning to end. One also really gets to build a solid relationship with Alex the protagonist if one chooses to. The only problems I've encountered is that 1)Push notifications often fail to show up 2)The new Helpbot feature, while minor, is more annoying than interesting. Thanks for a wonderful experience 3 Minutes Games!.Version: 1.0.0
