Love the widgetsWe have waterfront property so I’ve been using tide apps for a long time. I was settled on one app until I tried this one. It gives you everything you need and more. I love the “show reference level” option. Just tell it what tide level you are interested in and it will draw a line across the chart at that level. We have oyster bags on our beach and the tide has to be 3.6’ or lower to access them. That reference line not only shows me where the tide is at in relation to the line but is also gives you the times when the tide will be below that line. I also love the widgets as my Apple Watch now tells me what the current tide level is and if it’s coming in or going out. The app also tells you when the next high or low tide will be and even calculates how much time until that happens. The reference line and widgets sell it for me..Version: 2.9
Great but could be betterI am just an ordinary person, not a scientist, but I do have an interest in the tides. We live by the water and it’s cool to see when there’s a high-high or a low-low. It would be awesome to view this info in a chart like someone else suggested, because in the summer especially we love to go out into the Puget sound at a low-low because you can go really far out at Alki in Seattle. Makes for a fun family day. But I need the chart so I can view this info ahead of time to plan better. Would be great to also have with the sunrise/sunset. Since we are watching the moon and it’s phases, an additional cool feature would be to show which stars/planets we would see on a particular night. There are many other stars apps to use tho. I really am interested in which planets I will see in the sky especially when they are close together (like recently there was Jupiter, Saturn, mars! All within the night sky, big and bright. Thanks NOAA for amazing info tho on all of your sights/apps. My brother showed me MyRadar (he is a pilot and uses this info). I love the different layers on it..Version: 2.0.1
I didn’t want to post thisFirst: This is a GREAT app. I tried all the tide apps I could find and this is the most beautiful, one of the few with alerts, has a great widget, and is just what I need. HOWEVER: After opening it the first couple of times, and setting a couple of options, it crashes on every open. I’ve removed it and reinstalled it and just can’t get it to open. I’ve a newish iPhone (Xs) and few other apps. This has been a problem for months through any software updates along the way. Interestingly, the widget still works, so I still find it useful even though I can no longer use the app itself or change any of its settings. I’d love to ask the Tide Alert team if there is any reason this might be happening. I’d rather have emailed this directly to the app’s tech support team, but I could find no way to reach them. I do strongly suggest you try this app. It’s only the app that crashed for me (every time when I try to launch it), nothing else is effected and the rest of my phone continues working fine. If it works for you as it seems to for most people, I suspect you will like it a lot..Version: 2.1
Love this app! This may very well be the most useful app on my phone. I live in Pawleys Island and I love walking on the beach in the evenings looking for shark’s teeth and shells. I used to google search tidecharts and usually had to search quite awhile to find the information I was looking for. Even then, it was sometimes confusing and hard to read, as most of it was really geared towards fishermen who probably needed a lot more info than I did. With this app, I can pinpoint and save all of my favorite locations, see sunrise/sunset times, and just drag my finger across the screen to find the ideal times to head out. I’ve been using it for a few months now and it has been completely accurate every time- I literally use it every day..Version: 2.1
Absolute BestAbsolutely the easiest, simplest and most well designed app for finding the tides. As a surfer and fisherman, I wanted something that I could IMMEDIATELY and clearly see what and when the tides were. Most of the time with most of these kind of apps you have to push this and push that in order just to find out one tidal period as opposed to this app which enables the user to get this kind of information with literally one push of the button. Love also the page which shows all the moon phases. Everything is also graphically pleasing to look at as well. I highly recommend this app !.Version: 2.1
WOW accurate appI thought an app like this would be a locked behind a pay wall and not have good interface but its been 2 weeks since i’ve been using it and i love it we vacation in port o conner Texas during the summer and its nice because we walk on the beach we hunt for sand dollars (me and my mom collect them low tide days are the best for that) we have a vacation house on the surrounding island. its nice to have to know these things so we don't have to bother our friend for the information or ask around. we know the basics about the tides but this app tells you all you want and more..Version: 2.5
This just may be the perfect Tide appI have not confirmed accuracy of the data shown, but the layout of this app and the particular information shown is what I would consider to be PERFECT! Just the information I want to see at my fingertips in a format that is clear and informative, with the phases of the moon, sun/moon rise/set, and detailed tide height data, all right there in an easy-to-look-at graphic. Love the moon phase calendar and charts views too. Well done. Thanks for making this quality app free and ad-free. You should add an option (non-nag) in your menu for donations, since this app is definitely worthy!.Version: 2.0.2
Great simple clean toolI have been looking for and trying lots of different tide/weather apps, none have fit the bill. Until now. This app has a simple interface that lets you bookmark your favorite tide locations and even set one as the default reporting station when you open the app. The info is simple, clear and straightforward showing tides that you can scroll through for days ahead. This is just what I have been looking for, without the extra crap and fees most have. Great job on this..Version: 2.0.2
So useful and so beautiful — well done!!I absolutely love the visual representation of the tidal highs and lows plus sunrise and sunset. Moon phases as well! It’s just so very useful if you live near the ocean and are timing your day around making it to the beach. I am at the beach daily for a surf, dog walk, just lounging…knowing the moon phase a tide height helps me understand if I can squeeze in a visit at high tide or not…at sunrise etc. wind and wind direction would be pretty cool too if added, but otherwise I use this daily..Version: 2.5.1
Needs chartsGood app but this needs charts that tell you sunrise sunset times low tide, high tide times with Heights daily for the week and several weeks even! This app is designed well but it’s missing this key chart information. The only way to view it is to scroll through and observe their interactive graph but that’s way too time intensive and unfeasible. They just need one page I can scroll down and view several days of information in a chart at least two weeks ahead. I’m having to use another app to do this :-( also their feedback func doesn’t work because I don’t use the email app on my phone. Should work with Gmail..Version: 2.0.1
Great app, could be betterMy first issue with the app is once you go in to the future or past on your tide station, you can’t get back to the present time (and if there is a way it’s too hard to find) unless you leave the app. If you leave the app then it goes back to current time. Other then that the app is fantastic. Beautiful clean UI, and easy to use. One more thing that would bring this app to the top is a widget for iOS 14 Devices..Version: 2.1
Works for meI’ve used this app across the eastern coastline of the US and would say the accuracy throughout is great. I especially use it locally to me, on the Connecticut River, which is a heavily tidal river. Having the ability to simply glide ahead in time a few days makes it super easy to plan ahead. And the monthly tide flow info, and moon charts is enough to make fairly accurate guesses ahead of the extent that the glide allows. I get everything I need to know about the tides from this app..Version: 2.1
Tugboat Deckhand at Moran Towing in Brunswick, GeorgiaThis app is a Very useful tool and I enjoy using it. It's very useful at work because the tides are important to know when you are running certain channels. I love the alerts and widgets that come with it. It's also great to see the moon phases. It's also handy when doing some salt water fishing! Thanks to the developers of this app and keep up the awesome work! Bravo Zulu! Have a blessed day to anyone reading..Version: 2.1
Straightforward GraphicsI have a handful of tide apps but this is my favorite. I am a visual person so the clear and consistent graphics on this app are my go to. We live near an area where low tide exposes a lot of sandy beaches, this app helps me navigate when it’s safe to go and for how long. We also use it for sailing trips to track the moon and hourly tide levels. It helps me understand a new place quickly..Version: 2.8.2
FixedThis is a great user friendly and very detailed app. I really like it. Initially I had downloaded and paid for the app and it wasn't working properly. I got with customer support and they were very active in trying to resolve the issue, which they eventually did. Most app developers wouldn't have taken the great lengths to personally try and fix it. I'm very pleased and love the apps..Version: 2.8.4
Nice display for iPhone, but does not work on watchIt works fine on iPhone XS Max latest IOS. But on Watch4 latest version, app loads but can not pick up any app info. I follow instructions and select a default station, but message on watch never changes and never picks up data. Too bad. I like the high/low tide alerts. Update. After several attempts, was able to get the watch working. Not easy. I’ll increase to a 4 but not 5 because of this issue and no instructions. Was trial and error..Version: 2.0.2
Tide alertLove tide alert! I walk my energetic young hunting dog, GSP, on the beach daily. He’s obsessed with hunting for fish, crabs, and birds, so we need plenty of space to avoid disturbing others. Low tide is the best time for our walks. I used to ask Google’s Alexa about it 3-4 times a day for a tide schedule, then I found the Tide Alert app. I added Tide Alert as a widget on my home screen. Now I have an interactive tide schedule at my fingertips. Love it!.Version: 2.9.6
Great tide app - Needs Family Sharing!I love this app. I live near a short beach and prefer walking dogs at low tide (otherwise there’s no beach to walk on). It is also invaluable to quickly know when the tides are for fishing. The reason that I selected this app over other tide apps was for its widget on the home screen. Now there is also a widget for the lock screen in iOS 16. My only major complaint is the lack of Family Sharing support. The yearly subscription cost is high (it’s the most expensive of any app I use) and for this price, I feel my wife should not have to also pay to see the tides on her own phone. Developers: please enable family sharing for this app! Thank you..Version: 2.7
Tide report…all are not the same some are excellentI am a OWAA Outdoors writer and have seen all types of tide reports. Many are fair to good but this one is quite exceptional. I rarely give five star reviews, so my four star is quite excellent in this program. I used it for two months before I did this review and was not comped by this company. As my favorite Yale professors always told me, that as professionals, we should be more like (Consumer Reports Magazine), and only speak -truth and the facts of the matter, when we do any particular review. I try to take my lessons to heart. Perhaps you dear reader, might appreciate my comments and take time to like my review. V/R “Joe Guide” OWAA OUTDOORS WRITER Wilmington NC (where the Cape Fear river runs through the old Port City...and dumps millions of gallons of fresh water into the Atlantic Ocean ).Version: 2.5.1
Easy to useI just needed a title chart that would work for virtually any place we were near the sea or the ocean, and this fill the bill. It has all the basic information I might need and it’s in an easy to access form. It’s very visual and graphic and that helps in terms of the presentation of the data.I have not found anything that was problematic and I have been using it for about four weeks..Version: 2.0.2
The best tide chart app I have foundHave been following tide patterns for decades for annual beach trips. Of course, smartphone apps made this task easy and visual - or so you would think. I tried a few tide apps and was disappointed in the product. That is, until I tried Tide Alert. Simple to use with great data visualization and other features. I highly recommend this app..Version: 2.1
Great Tide and Moon Cycle App 👍🏼👍🏼I love how the tide is shown on this app ! I can dial in my surf sesh down to the minute with a very clear reading of the tide. I also Love how it shows you the moon cycles which makes the tides ebb and flow. It keeps you in tune to nature and how the moon affects the tides. The only thing that would make it better is if it had the surf height. I would ditch Surfline altogether if this app had that. Wink, wink 😉. Great App 🤙🏼.Version: 2.1
It Just WorksNice, informative interface, and unlike some tide calculators I've used you can just set a default tide station and it will come up on launch every time. Matches nicely with the iOS app, which I use on bike rides (which go through a tidal flat that's flooded at high tide) because I can never remember when high tide is going to be..Version: 2.9
Great info but confusing graphicsAll of the info is there which is great!! But, the graphic display is a bit confusing. There is shading on the graphic display which corresponds to something other than night time. Why? Why not start the shading at sunset, and stop it at sunrise? This would be so much more intuitive when viewed at a glance, to put all of the data into perspective. Basic symbolism should not be underestimated. Day and night are pretty fundamental..Version: 2.4
Ease of use is peace of mindI have been boating in the Puget Sound for years and have relied on a variety publications to determine tides. This by far is the best one yet. Intuitive and clarity of information make this a useful tool that works. No longer have to flip around in a book to find the best tide information four specific location.. it is rapidly at your finger tips and that is peace of mind!.Version: 2.1
Love it! So useful and easy to understandIt’s great! I love having it on the widget page for a quick glance. I absolutely recommend it! Edit: unfortunately with the new update the app won’t open. I still have access to the widget, but I can’t edit what beach I want on there and it’s so frustrating :( hopefully it’ll get fixed!.Version: 2.1
Great app! But, daylight savings time errorThis was a terrific app until daylight time ended. In the table of sunrise and set time, it correctly shows standard time of sunrise and set, but not on the graph which shows times they would be if Daylight time were still in effect. The tide times displaying on the graph are updated, but the graphical wave is an hour off. OOOPS!.Version: 2.1
Accurate??The closest tide station to a bridge under which I can’t get through at high tide is in a commercial area about a mile from water. It’s called Los Patos bridge and it isn’t a bridge, just a street. I’ve asked the company about it twice over a few weeks but no reply. Is it possible that a tide can be accurate on a city street?.Version: 2.1
Dirt SimpleI’m probably not asking for much, but this gives me tide & moon phase at a glance. Setting up for my location was so easy I don’t remember doing it. Slider lets me know just how much water I have to work with pretty much down to the minute, which is Key when you are at the mercy of an expansive mud flat and brisk currents through the channel..Version: 2.1
Reliable and accurateLoving right on the coast of the Pacific, I rely on having access to accurate tidal information that’s easy to understand. This app does all those things and works offline. I hike along the coast a lot, and sometimes thru remote areas that are impassible at high tide. This app has never let me down and I’ve grown to rely on it every day..Version: 2.1
Every dayI use this app everyday for to check the tides for my dog walk. I used the free version for a year and now have the paid version. It’s really nice to be able to look ahead and see the tides and use the monthly graph as well to see the tides and the moon status and plan full moon and low tide exploring on the coast..Version: 2.7.2
The beach queenI am so thankful for this app as I live three minutes from the beach. I can see the tide from my living room window, and I love to walk at various times of the day. This app keeps me posted throughout the day. It also allows me to know how high the surf is so that I can go out and watch the surfers..Version: 2.9.6
Great App - Great Customer SupportThis is a great app for monitoring the tides. Many stations to choose from and the Apple Watch complications works really well. The customer support is top notch. I had a problem with the app not working correctly, but customer support worked tirelessly until the issue was resolved. Best tide app I have used..Version: 2.8.4
Great Tidal Information! This app is spot-on! Accurate and easy to understand! At a glance you have what you need in an accurate and relevant format! If your planning your excursion or voyage this is a great app. This app really shines when you are out and about on the tidal estuaries as at a glance you know what to expect and when to expect it..Version: 2.1
Lifelong fishermanI’m elated to have found this app . I no longer need to toggle back and forth between 3 apps to get all the tide info I need . The best feature is the tide comparison that allows you to view multiple tide charts at once . You can view as many of your favorite locations tides at the same time ..Version: 2.9.6
Hands Down the best tides APP!I’ve tried a bunch of these cause we walk the beach regularly and some areas are tight if the tide is high unlike with other tide apps this one has been spot on so we can actually rely on it because it’s so accurate! I Love it and I highly recommend it! Thanks for such an eye candy, easy to use and highly accurate tide app!.Version: 2.1
Like the app, but…I really like this app and the way the graphics are displayed. However, it will not stay sync’d to my Apple Watch. I work on a boat and need to check the status of the tide numerous times during my day, but 50 percent of the time it tells to reset it. Great app just need to fix that bug..Version: 2.4
Love this! This is the best tide app I’ve found. I have potential annoyances at low tide where I keep my boat, and this app is perfect to let me know what to expect and when. I like that I can set a notification for either high or low tides. I also had to contact the developer for a question and they got back to me very quickly. Thanks!!.Version: 2.1
Best and Easiest! We live near a beach that basically disappears at high tide. Just a quick check of this app and we know whether there will be any sand showing, and whether it’ll get better or worse if we go on down. The imagery is clear and intuitive. Perfect..Version: 2.5
Great app, keeps ceashingI love this app. But it keeps crashing, won't open, won't send out tide notifications. I have to keep deleting the app and reloading it to my phone. And why can't I get both low AND high ride notifications? The app settings makes you think you can, but it doesn't work. If I set for both, I don't get any notifications. If I set for one, I get it, until the app crashes again, and I'm forced to reload it all again..Version: 2.1
So glad we found! We are dependent upon tides to get in and out of our island recreation place. Being able to scroll with the lozenge to determine what the tide will be at any particular time is a godsend for us, as opposed to trying to figure and calculate the right amount of water based on charts or even graphs that are hard to eyeball. Perfect app for us!.Version: 2.1
Best tide app I've found.Works flawlessly, and has great additional information beyond just high and low tide. Awesome app. Get the pay version for even more features, but you don't have to. Even the free version is way better than anything else..Version: 2.6
Love this app!I live inland but love watching live webcams from Bermuda to Hawaii. So interesting to know what the tide is. Only a tiny complaint that a tutorial would be helpful. For the longest time I couldn’t figure out how to see the tides for more than one location at a time but now I got it I hope. Thanks so much..Version: 2.1
Super useful!I use this application every day. I love the fact that you can set a tide level and then it tracks that for you. It also shows you the amount of time left till you reach that level. Well done coder team..Version: 2.9.1
I like it- but would like better featuresIt’s an okay app if you live in a mild tidal change area. For me, the downside is that I can’t set an alarm for negative tides. It only allows down to 0.0 and for my region, there’s a lot of -1 and -2 tides that don’t allow access to certain activities, so being able to set an alarm for a -3 to -5 or lower is what I’m looking for. Without this, this app is basically useless for what I want..Version: 2.1
Amazing app but one slight recommendationAmazing app!!! super helpful i am LOVING it so far. the ONLY thing that i would love to see, and this only has to do with aesthetics…. is a white background. I use the widget on my home screen and would love a whire background instead of the black background. otherwise, no complaints at all. super reliable..Version: 2.9.6
