Best eartraining app (especially for chord progressions)So I use their website free online but I wanted something on my phone that I could use when I travel and don’t have internet//a computer.
I was reluctant to pay (haha) because it’s free online but it’s totally worth it... specifically for the chord progression ear training... which has been almost impossible for me to find, and when I have it’s been mediocre at best.
This app is the best one I have yet to find, so I will say worth the purchase. It looks like the people who gave bad rating either had a version with a bug or didn’t know how to get the sound working. I first looked at the price and the ratings (before investigating why the 1 star.. which seems to be a nonissue now) and was reluctant to purchase the app, but I’m happy with it so far- will update if that changes. :) But I personally would recommend the app if you are a serious musician and want to work on your ear training- SPECIFICALLY harmonic ear training aka chord progressions (as there are plenty of apps for interval training etc). Works great make sure mute is turned off on phoneUsing this a to prepare for next exam in Aural theory where we have to transcribe without any reference pitch. Does exactly what I need it to and I can already tell I am improving. There are several complaints about it not playing the tones. I found the problem is due to having the silent mode switch down on your phone. You need to turn off the silent mode switch for the tones to play. Otherwise works perfect..J_dunnVersion: 1.0.2
Absolutely great.I think problems with sound were fixed, I have no problems at all, plus app on it’s own is very useful. The only app that allow you to practice chord progressions (the reason I initially bought it)
Interface could be improved for iPhone X, but it’s just a minor thing to pick on.

Great app with minor glitchesIn my view this app contains a great perfect pitch quiz, while it does have minor glitches, you get what you pay for. Five dollars for a great app containing a real perfect pitch quiz. I mainly really love how the app keeps track of how well each note is comprehended by the user. Good if it worksI reported the bugs to the developer but he hasn’t responded. If your iPhone silent switch is on you hear no sound. That in itself is ok once you figure it out, but the real bug is more than half the time you hear no sound at all or it is delayed by 10 seconds or more. The windows app on my laptop works great but until these app is fixed it’s not too useful. Please fix it and it will be great.
Also, a usability issue- the Hear Next buttons should be at the bottom. Otherwise your finger has to move back and forth covering the choices. Placement of buttons should always be designed to minimize crossings and movements..Jwg01776Version: 1.0.2
Yes i already know about turning on the button for sound.If you are in the middle of a quiz and go to another app, when you come back there will be no sound no matter what you do. also if you select or deselect an interval that you want to be in the quiz (on the page where you can also listen to the interval) once it’s deselected it cannot be reselected until you go back to home page and start over. also once you finish a quiz it sometimes has no sound. also if someone calls when you’re in the app, you have no sound afterward. sometimes all conditions for sound are met and you still have no sound.

Do not waste your moneyThis app should not cost money. I’ve been on the website, which was reasonably well maintained and quite helpful! I was hopeful about the app but as soon as i launched it i could see it wasnt nearly as polished as their website. The sounds dont play half the time, scrolling drags things around and messes up the whole format, it’s slow and laggy, and it generally just feels like someone made half of it and never bothered finishing it.
I hope they patch it and improve on the app in the future, but it’s six years old already so i doubt that’s going to happen. This app really shouldn’t cost any money, don’t bother with it.
