The book are great, but the bonuses glitchEver since I downloaded this app it’s been a cycle of amazing books. I love how apps like this have bonuses that you can get, to use to unlock chapters. I don’t have money to just buy coins when ever I want. Also I like how there’s a game that you can play to get more bonuses. The only problem is that sometimes after I play the game, the bonuses that I won don’t transfer, and it’s aggravating when you play and it says that the coins should be transferred but they’re not. Another thing that just happened, is that one book that I was reading reset some of the chapters that I already read, to make them locked again. I got to chapter 26 of “My Twin Soulmates”. Great books but no moneyI saw an ad for this app on other reading apps and on game apps. The stories that I was given glimpses of in the ads where really good and I would love to have continued to read those books and the MANY other books that are on the app, but I do NOT have the money to buy coins/passes no matter how I save. Since I now have a baby on the way, I definitely can’t afford to spend money on an app no matter how great it seems. I would have loved to have seen a daily rewards check in and/or even an ad watching set up to gain coins/passes to unlock chapters. Unfortunately because I don’t have the money to buy them I have no choice but to delete the app since I won’t be able to finish any of the books here. App problemsI’m having issues with this app it was working grate but now everything is in Chinese or Japanese I don’t know and it’s telling me title no net with the book I have been reading and the next thing is that I can’t get to the daily check in for my coins also only one book is working there’s other things going on especially with the chapters being so expensive and the constant repeat of the sentence from the previous chapter and the chapters are very short but cost way too much coins these books are good but way too expensive but back to the issue at hand can someone fix the app and get it running back in English and where I can read the book I’ve been reading thanks so much..MagicbVersion: 2.1.8
Stories are good. Resuming audio is anywhere from frustrating to impossible.This app has good stories that are expensive just like others. I stayed with this one because many are audio and I can listen at work with my headphones at the computer. However on this iPad mini each time I have to close out the app, It’s very hard to navigate back to the audio player in a book I was listening to. Neither have I figured out how to get to the audio player for 2books that went to audio that I’m in the middle of. Infact it’s hard to bring up the menu on the bottom with out the pages flipping about like crazy. I truly would appreciate an easier way to start the audio player from the page of the book if it wont start when the book is opened..BettijohVersion: 2.7.2
Amazing customer serviceI have been using this app for quite a while. I've read a decent amount of books and for the last few months I've been reading one in particular. It was an ongoing book that was up to chapter 259 before their contract with the author ended a month ago. I was so upset and was out so many coins and wouldn't be able to finish the book. They made it right by giving me back the coins I'd spent on the book! I've since found a few books that aren't so long and are complete but I am still in shock that their customer service did me so right. Not used to that with apps these days! The reading bonuses are frustrating as you don’t get credit for all your reading time. I was trying to finish the day’s reading challenge and had just enough time to get in the last 50 mins with a few minutes to spare. By the time I finished the first 30 minutes of reading I no longer had time to finish. I consider myself a fairly good reader so clearly they don’t want to have to pay up that last bonus for the day. They also increased the amount of HOURS you have to read per day to get the bonuses. It’s ridiculous. I think I’m going to go back to the other reading app I have. I love the book but a free chapter a day would not hurt.The books are amazing. I find myself engulfed and in enriched by some of them and I love fantasy and romance stories, so this type of app would be perfect for me, but I feel like it would benefit more by letting the reader have one to three free chapters a day. That way there would be more of an incentive to read more. I find myself ready to just delete the app because I don’t wanna keep trying to find ways to get coins for free and it’s still not be enough to read the next chapter. More coinsI like the app but I don’t have enough coins to unlock a single chapter in a day. The book I’m currently reading requires 117 coins when I only get about 57 a day so I have to wait two days to read one chapter. I would appreciate it if there were more coin opportunities so I don’t have to wait so long to read one chapter. Now, other stories might not require as much coins as the one I am currently reading but I would still appreciate more coin options.
P.s. I have only read one book so far and just started using this app so I don’t know if you continue to get more than 30 or 120 coins a day or is certain books require more coins that others..MajestynyVersion: 2.2.6
Subscription misunderstoodI finally think I understand how this subscription works. It states at the top that you get 1000 gems now (meaning when you sign up,) and 300 daily. I believed that meant that they gave 300 gems daily but I read on the daily check in page that members get 10 extra coins per day. In total 10 times 30 days equals 300 coins for the entire month, not 300 per day. However even though they finally gave me my 1000 coins I still have not received my missing 50 coins for the last five days that I’ve had this subscription and I did NOT receive the extra 10 coins per day. Great StoriesThe novels are engaging but I can’t give the app 5 stars. Unfortunately, I have several complaints. I can literally spend hours every day reading from this app but they are doing a disservice to the fans by not doing better editing. I don’t know if they are using AI to translate the novels but they still need to read before they publish because the stories will repeat paragraphs in some sections, refer to incorrect characters and use improper male/female tenses. Also, they should really make the coins needed to unlock chapters consistent. Finally, dropping a chapter a week for ongoing stories is a horrible practice. It makes me want to invest less in the characters and stories. I’ve tried to find more of the finished stories now because of that..Lmb1173Version: 2.1.7
Great story, well written!Great story, the one major thing I don’t like is partly through the book it starts repeating its last line on the 1st line of the next page, that bugged me. Also, I think the chapters cost too many coins, you have to be able to eat enough to read a chapter or 2 and I’d be more influenced to purchase coins to keep going. They’re probably double what they should cost. Per chapter. I also wish they would’ve used some of the epilogue and make another chapter or so, include the trial and taking away of the baby if you need the drama part. Just saying. Good reads but takes a lot of ads to keep readingThis ap needs to cater more towards the customer and not need as many coins to buy next chapter…. I really like that about this app. However the one thing that keeps me from using it often is the fact that I have to flip the page, or swipe it… It doesn’t matter what setting I change. It’s still the same thing. I want to be able to continuously scroll from top to bottom through the chapter. If I could do that, I’d be willing to pay more often as well. There’s lots of captivating stories. I have sensory issues and the flip thing just out right messes with me after so long. Needs Work on story and coinsLove the variety of books and the they are great page turners. However, I have two major issues with this app. First one is several books I have read had the character names changed mid story or the wrong pronoun is used. My second issue is the amount of coins needed to unlock a chapter. I love reading good books. I can finish a book in one day if it’s really interesting. So it frustrates me when I’m really in to a book and can’t complete it because I don’t have enough coins. Not impressedI paid my ‘coins’ for a chapter, but touching the screen scrolled it to a different page, and the chapter I had paid for would not reopen without another payment. Great.
Also, the English text REALLY needs to be proofed by someone who actually knows English. Too many times, words are being used in a ways that simply make no sense. I could easily cite a few dozen examples, if given enough time. (‘A taxi alights in front of a building’. NO. A person alights FROM a taxi in front of a building. Only a couple of issuesThis app is pretty comparable to most other reading apps, which is fine. My biggest complaints are: I cannot leave any feedback for the author. I just finished a story, and I’d like to praise her, and tell her how much I appreciate her, but I can’t. Also the search function is nearly useless. I’d like to be able to filter my search results, by genre, author, etc, or most importantly, I’d like to be able to search only completed stories. MehAlthough there’s a bunch of “books” to choose from, the reason I docked 2 stars is because when you do your daily check in for free points, it only gives you half of what is promised. Saying if you “start a new book” you’ll receive the other half. And that’s EVERY TIME! When I did it once (and yes, I clicked the button so it’d redirect me and keep track I’m doing as told), I never received the rest of my points. Pretty bogus right?! The other star was docked because as you read, the chapters get more and more expensive, making it hard to enjoy my reading. Way too expensiveI’ll prefer wattpad any day because apps like this allow itself to not be great, because why do I have to pay so much money each chapter when I want to relax a read a good book. And the books are really amazing but the pricing is really annoying and makes you don’t wanna read any more so it’s really disappointing this app needs to do better seriously else it won’t get any support at all. I’m in love but it’s starting to whin… please fix the glitchesSo I’ve had this app for about three weeks and it keeps messing up. I’ve brought coins to continue reading the chapters but it keeps glitching kicking me out and not loading the books chapters. I love the stories but Geesh please fix it because I’m not sure even with loving the stories I can keep dealing with the glitches. CaptivatingI love the story I’m reading. The only thing I don’t like is you have to pay for each chapter with coins won or purchased and the rate they charge for coins you could buy a library of books. I read until my coins run out then I either earn more or wait until the next day to earn more and at this rate it will take me two or three months to read one book. Great booksI have 3 reading apps and JoyLit has the best books. They are well written with few grammatical errors. My biggest complaint is it is SO lpurchase driven. Other apps allow you to read additional chapters by watching ads but this app doesn’t. Additionally the coins received by performing the tasks are minimal! I hate the GAME rewards!!!! I am a voracious reader and read 1K words per minute and the timed rewards are useless since I’ve run through the free coins in 15 minutes. Wonderful App but needs improvementsI enjoy the books on the app
However, the interface of the app needs big improvements. For instance the reading gifts, it doesn’t allow you see how long reading it takes to earn the coins.
Plus it says 400 coins cost CA 3.99, however, it takes more than that from my account.
Also, sometimes it doesn’t update my coins meter on time which disrupts my reading.
Overall, it’s a wonderful app but could use improvements

Do Not DownloadLook the books are really good or at least the one I’m reading, but the first chapter I had to buy was 97 coins so I did the little tasks and made that, but after there are no more tasks so you’d have to buy coins. It’s an outrageous price for coins because each chapter costs so many. The amount of coins to buy a chapter goes up every-time too. First it was 97 and now it’s 113 for one REALLY SHORT chapter. I’m a fast reader so chapters are usually pretty short, but these chapters are short even for a 7 year old, it takes me only a minute or two max to finish a chapter from there. I would suggest lowering the price of coins for each chapter or coming up with a monthly subscription plan to make it more appealing. If changes aren’t made then I’ll just stick to Wattpad. They have subscriptions and not all of their books are premium. There’s a wide variety of really incredible books on there for free. Plus the whole book is usually the amount of coins that this app wants you to pay for one short chapter. Wattpad also has videos you can watch to make the amount of coins in 30 days to get a book so you don’t have to spend any money out of pocket. I really like the books on JoyLit I just wish it was more affordable because the cost to buy enough coins in order to finish one of their books is the price of well over 4 or 5 books you can buy a paper copy of. It’d cost hundreds of dollars to finish one book, I don’t know about you, but that’s unaffordable to most..JS.05.Version: 2.2.3
Not worth it anymoreI originally loved this app but the last 2 days I had problems when doing the 24 hour reading challenge I was reading for hours I even bought a pass to ensure I passed the challenge and I got stuck on level 3 no matter what I did and the developers didn’t reach back out to me when I contacted them via email keep in mind this challenge I should have gotten 7000 coins to split among 96 people if they finished as well but we were all stuck on level 3. Then the next day I did the Readict to get 1000 coins and it didn’t work either. For the 24 hour challenge I even bought a pass and it said no where in the rules that it wasn’t allowed in order to complete the challenge they just cheated me out of coins and money! Also don’t buy the pass if you choose to continue use of the app because once the pass runs out of time every chapter you unlocked gets locked all over again and you just got played ! I thought I would continue using the app but I’ve been looking for my story on other platforms with more friendly purchase options and with a more active contact options because the contact us feature doesn’t work on this app at all! The Membership is a Scam I’m reporting to Apple Now 1 Week of No Response From CreatorThe stories and writers are cool, my bone to pick is with the creators. I paid for the subscription of 300 coins for daily check in ($10 a month). I’ve only received 10 extra coins a day. I did receive the $900 upfront that was also included in my membership. However as a member I still don’t receive enough coins to unlock even one chapter a day. As a teacher I find it ridiculous that the app doesn’t even try to hide it’s using blurry lines/unclear wording to get money out of people. (Not just a normal amount $50 or more to read a whole book) The 300 daily coins was what it appeared to promise. Regardless of what the actual policy is, if it says 300 daily check in when I purchase I should receive that no if and or butts especially with a no refund policy. It’s screams greedy and slimy. Save yourself, don’t start, don’t download, don’t waste your time. Apps like these are created for people who don’t watch their money or have nothing better to do. They be money hungryIf you’re interested in spending WAAAAYYYYY too much money on poorly written books, then THIS is the app for you!! (Otherwise, I’d suggest GoodNovel, AlphaNovel, or My Passion. If you need to spend money, Galatea has great books and a flat, yearly fee to get to them.) Otherwise, stay away. They’ll let you very comfortably read a few chapters….then they start having small costs for chapter as you pay per page in a chapter. But then, the free coins they give you are only good for 24hours and soon you’ll never have enough to unlock another chapter as the coins don’t stack day to day. At that point, if you really need to read that story…..you’re gonna have to pay. And not a little, but A LOT! When you’re talking a few bucks to unlock 1 chapter in a book that’s easily over a few hundred chapters long, they will expect you to be grateful for the few few chapters you had at the beginning. Scam/Expensive app- not worth itI have finished 1 book total on this app: what happens in Vegas… I had to buy coins and I got through it but the price keeps increasing and gets ridiculously expensive once you buy coins. I purchased over 3000 coins the first time and 2 days ago I purchased 2400, I didn’t even get to finish “He wants me back after the divorce” because it’s ridiculously long and quite expensive, when I attempted to go to the next chapter they said my coins were finished. I bought them like yesterday or 2 days ago max. There are a lot of grammatical errors in this book and it’s almost like some parts jumped ahead or skipped but I am truly disappointed about my coins. I believe I was robbed, there is no way I used 2400 coins in less than 2 days especially when I’m not reading all day. In addition I get the free coins for reading so how is that possible. I have yet to get the free 135 coins during this promo for reading 120 mins, yet I’ve used all the coins I bought? That is so ridiculous. NOT Free Reading and WAY over priced!The books I’ve started reading have been pretty good so far, but after about a week and a half of reading basically a chapter a day since that’s all the free coins cover (sometimes 2 days since you earn a very small amount of free coins) I am at a point where I can’t continue reading ANY of the stories I’ve started unless I purchase coins. I’ve started a small handful of different stories that I’d read through the first 6 (free) chapters when I couldn’t unlock a chapter. Most of them have minimal spelling/grammar errors, but one or 2 have had quite a lot and the writing has just been difficult to read/follow. I will likely be deleting this app because I will end up spending stupid amounts of money on books when I could just buy books direct from an author for a fraction of the cost. NOT for actually readers.I love that there’s a subscription for it but I can’t get it because kids are expensive so I really rely on the freebies. Right now it’s read a certain amount of minutes and get prizes for reading. Read 10 minutes, 25 minutes, 40 minutes etc etc. I have read a few chapters and I know I have been on the app reading for at least an hour because I have been on the road. The only prize that has been unlocked is the 10 minute one. It’s a rip off and I can’t continue reading the stories I’m interested in because I don’t have enough coins to buy the next chapter. It’s insane how much it is to unlock a whole book. Each chapter is a different price ranging from 40 coins to over 200 coins. For $10 you can get 1000 coins or pay $10 monthly you can get 1300. That’s not enough for a whole book unless the book is unfinished and then it would take over a month just to finish one book. Smh. Kinda scammyI of course got an ad for a book where I read half of it in the ad, downloaded because I wanted to finish the book and quickly realized I spent over $30 to read a book that wasn’t worth $15 if it was printed with all of the grammatical errors, but there’s a second book! So I paid for the membership, got my first stipend of 3,900 coins and they were all gone in a matter of minutes. It costs over 100 coins for some chapters and you only get 15ish coins a day, so getting 1,170 coins a day sounded great. Except you don’t get that many coins a day at all, it says clear as day multiple times that the daily check in is supposed to get you 1,170 coins, but you only get your original amount plus 39, so, like 50ish coins. You have to read a chapter a day or a certain amount of time each day to keep up with their goals to get more coins, but you can’t read more without spending more, so either spend $100 a week or just don’t download this app..MammaKcVersion: 3.6.9
ScamI found a book I liked that they were advertising on social media and I started reading. The app is outrageously expensive and the price keeps going up and up, but I was invested in the story so I kept paying. I got $45 into the book to find it was unfinished and the author hasn’t posted any updates in months. I was so disappointed. I wrote in to customer service, complained about the lack of transparency, and asked for my money back. They began by asking for a list of information they knew I didn’t have - user number, dates of purchase, purchase number, etc. We went back and forth and they eventually declined to refund and said they credited me 100 coins, which isn’t even enough for a couple chapters. They also didn’t have a way of crediting me anything because I had already deleted the app in frustration. The cost and subscription model is outrageous. The lowest subscription tier is the cost of a mass market paperback book but only allows you to read about 12 chapters of a book during the month. Other similar apps have subscriptions that grant you unlimited reading. You should at least be allowed to make it through one book on a monthly subscription. The chapters themselves are super short too. So a base subscription gets you access to only about 1 chapter equivalent of a published novel each month. There are not enough reward options to get more points in a day to read more chapters without paying significantly more. At a minimum subscribers should get automatic access to a new chapter each day. This would still end up costing significantly more then purchasing a book.

Then they chop up the 300 coins with daily check in to 10 extra coins per day, NOT 300 coins per daily check in. The coins per chapter depend on the amount of pages which they duplicate the ending and beginning of pages making the chapters longer. They have a number of great books but you cant read them in a timely manner unless you pay well over $20 in coin purchases. The amount of coins just to read a chapter vs what you can get daily, will only get you maybe 1 chapter per day and that is if you also do all the other options for free coins each day. No tech support replyI downloaded Hey Beauty and from JoyLit and played the game for more than the 3 required days and for the 10 levels per day in order to get the 280 coins promised. Well the coins never came. So I reached out to tech support and got no reply. So I reached out to tech support again and asked if this was false advertising and uploaded a screenshot from Hey Beauty show my coins were ready to receive on JoyLit. Except they said weren’t. They never have come. And I still get annoying pop ups while I’m reading on the app to download Hey Beauty! These people have no clue what they’re doing and they don’t own up to their promises nor do they care to listen to their customers when there is a problem. Dishonest AppThe stories themselves are pretty good and I enjoy having a juicy romance novel available at my fingertips.
That’s where the positives end for me. This app is the most dishonest app I’ve ever used. The point accrual system does not give the points that it advertises. There is also an opportunity to “discover a new book” to earn 32 points, but what it doesn’t tell you is when you start using your points in reserve to continue reading the new book. I also hate that you can’t see how many chapters a story is before purchasing. I would consider the membership of $10/month because you can earn a chapter’s worth of reading per day but again, I don’t trust the daily check in because it doesn’t give the correct points now nor can you check in when you want to, it must be when the app prompts you to..DomDoesItVersion: 3.3.9
Changing my review from 5 stars to 1This was my absolutely favorite reading app until the update that “gave us a chance to win” more coins by playing the game Hey Beauty. Please do yourself a favor and do not waste your time. After level 300 it’s impossible to pass the level without spending lots of money. I am close to finish the book I am reading. As soon as I am done I will delete the app. I’m calling all my fellow readers to do the same. We love reading but we are not stupid. I will not let anyone to play with my intelligence. I’m done supporting apps who don’t listen their users and are greedy like this developer. Maybe if we stop using the app the developer will change it for better.

Worst reading app out thereI am basing this review primarily on the cost. The reward system is practically nonexistent when you cannot even earn enough daily rewards to read one chapter. Some of the books are hundreds of chapters long, costing the reader literally HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS by the time it’s completed. I have no problem spending money to read and have spent substantial amounts on several other reading apps. However, for me to pay to read, the benefits need to be reasonably comparable to the money I’m spending. Sorry but no romance novel is worth $100+++ to read. Horrible appThey get you hooked by letting you read the first handful of chapters and then charge you an unreasonable amount of coins to read each chapter after that. Yes, you can earn coins by watching ads, letting them put pop ups on your phone and then they give you a small amount daily to check-in. I was doing those things and it took me 5 days to get enough points for 1 chapter. Yes, you are seeing that correctly, only 1 chapter! If I want to purchase points to read the book it would cost more than just buying a book at a book store or online. My StarsI used to love this app, the stories are good, but coins are difficult to accumulate without purchasing coins, unlike other apps, they allowed you to watch ads to get coins, but now with this app is even harder, they came up with this My Stars system, they take part of the daily coins that you get and turns them into My Stars coins, you have to use them within 24 hrs. My experience with this My Stars coins system, the majority of days they don’t allow me to use it even though I read new chapters continuously until I ran out of coins to use, and they still didn’t deduct any coins from My Stars. So every day those My Stars coins were wasted. I now no longer want to read from this app. There are so many reading apps out there. But instead I only had access to this unbelievably poorly written joke of a tale about a brutal mafia boss somehow forced to marry a twin from another mafia family. I have Zero interest in that genre and actually find the brutality and viciousness truly Disgusting. Ugh.

Not the best app for readingI got sucked in reading a book that was going to great and when I got to chapter 7 I ended up needing coins. I thought the coins would let me finish the book but each chapter requires coins. I didn’t purchase any coins because you only get so many free a day. Hard to figure outI’ve started reading my first book with JoyLit. The problem is I’ve spent $30 & only allowed me less than 80 chapters. There’s 240 plus chapters in this book. I thought there’s no way reading an online book is going to cost more than $20? I since figured out that you collect free coins daily but sometimes it can take up to. 4/5 days to collect enough coins for only 1 chapter. Don’t Download This AppI got interested in a book on this app, because they let you read a few chapters in their ad. Then once you download, you have to wait days, watch ads and try other books before you can even get to where you were in the book. Then you discover you can’t continue without paying money. Too expensive and a scamI started reading a book in an ad from another app. I was directed to download the app in order to finish. The app suggested I had to buy coins to finish the book. Ridiculous FormatFeel as if I have been snookered into this app. When I want to read a book I want to know how much the book costs/ pay for it prior to jumping in. This purchasing coins is frustrating as :
1) no idea of the total cost

3) there are left over coins that were paid for.

Changes to paymentsI was on the monthly plan for approx 70 dollars per month. They change the way the plans were which is their choice. Books are bellow average and expensiveI got roped into a book from insta, and to read the next chapters you had to pay. Fine, but the amount you pay increases per chapter!
