Mini Metro+ Positive Reviews

Awesome but one fatal bugLove this game, my only qualm is that when you try to add one too many locomotives to a line, a large message covers part of the play area telling you you’re limited to 4 locomotives. The message will not disappear until a few seconds have passed within the games time - meaning if you have a station that is close to overcrowding and it is hidden under the message, there’s basically no way to monitor it without the game being unpaused while you wait for the message to disappear so that you can see what you’re doing. It’s also very hard to keep track (no pun intended) of the number of locomotives per line because when they are at a station they are hidden underneath it. So it’s very easy to accidentally add a fifth locomotive to a line and trigger the message. It would be much better if either the message was unobtrusive, or if there was a locomotive count next to the circle representing each line, like 1/4, and when you reached 4/4 it would (subtly) indicate that you can’t add anymore. Maybe if you tried to add a fifth it would simply not let you and the 4/4 would flash indicating you were trying to exceed the limit. But otherwise this is a very thoughtfully made relaxing game..Version: 1.7.1

Great game but can improve game play experienceI love the Mini Motorways and the Mini Metro games, it’s challenging but doesn’t lack the fun. However, in both games, there are some logically/common sense things that the game doesn’t allow us to do. In Mini Metro, it’s awfully hard to play via a phone. Sometimes you are just trying to extend a line and the game thinks I am trying to start a new line; You can’t drag a line to connect a different station if that section is already connected to a station; You can’t re-draw lines in the middle, and you have to find the head/tail to go back and fix something; All these things distracts from actually solving the puzzle to trying so hard to get everything how I want them to be. There’s not so much in Mini Motorways… but there was something that kept bothering me… I’ll write another review if I remembers later. However! These are still some great games! I’ll be trying to find a way to get a higher score in motorways..Version: 1.1

Great game, but tracking progress is tediousI’ve been wholly addicted to this game since finding it a few weeks ago. I love how simple it is on the surface but how challenging it can be, and it’s a great game to play while listening to audiobooks which are my favorite. There’s one thing that bugs me that I either can’t figure out or that doesn’t exist, and that’s around how to track whether I’ve gotten the goals for each city. I want to replay ones where I haven’t achieved all the goals, but I can’t tell which ones I have or haven’t completed. I’d also like if I could see my history on a level over time. The graph next to the Challenges icon seems like it should do that, but it’s just a blank list (maybe because I don’t have any friends who also play?). They’re small pet peeves but are the QoL kind of things that keep this from being a perfect 5 stars. Even something as simple as changing the color of the challenges button when they’re all complete would knock this game into 5-star territory!.Version: 1.0

Fun until….I’m an avid sim city/City skylines ‘gamer’. I’m drawn to the construction aspect and moving traffic. This game is fun, LOADS of fun, so don’t get me wrong here: there is a horrendous algorithm that drops the same station type repeatedly and right next to each other (most prevalent is the circle station, 7 to 8 in a line?!? Woah….). There is such a thing as making a game challenging and a whole other thing making it discouraging, disappointing and extremely frustrating 75% of the time. I’ve opened every city, so it’s not as if I can’t play the game with success. I know that I can reroute and remake the lines, but when you’re starting out the game and all you have is one triangle, one square and eight circles…. nah. I play games for fun, not to tick me off more than my kid slipping out their bedroom window at night. Let’s get back to work and rewrite that algorithm so it is still challenging but doesn’t make me want to throw myself off a pseudo bridge (when I manage to actually get a bridge in the “rewards”……🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️).Version: 1.3.2

Fun, Plain, & SimpleMini Metro is a minimalist masterpiece. Everything just works and looks so well. The theme extends throughout the game making time spent playing it really immersive. It’s a puzzle game to a degree, but also a game of chance and faith. There’s no way a human mind can come up with the perfect solution to the puzzles, if we could then public transportation wouldn’t be as bad as it is in some places. But for this reason, I don’t really get disappointed or mad at myself if I “lose,” making the game all the more enjoyable. The sound design is also a top notch compliment to the visual style of the game. I love that I can just pick it up and start playing with no 20 minute tutorial. It’s just a calm, serene an enjoyable time. Possibly the only time you could describe a subway experience with those words..Version: 1.0

Visually confusingI love mini motorways and decided to give mini metro+ a go as well. Unfortunately, I found the game very visually confusing. The use of shapes needing to get to separate destinations was good in theory, but it’s often difficult to even tell what shapes they are, which train they’re on, or where they need to go. You often have to sacrifice being able to tell what going on visually for efficiency which results in train lines overlapping and being unable to tell where they connect or where they go. I believe it would make more sense to move colors around (like you do in mini motorways) and have the trains be numbered or patterned. However that’s just my personal opinion and the game has a lot of potential. If you aren’t one who has trouble with visual processing, you might enjoy the game more than I did..Version: 1.6.1

Could be more fun butThis is one of the best games out there but it makes no sense to rush the player to connect stations without the proper materials to do so. Nowhere in the world does a station get built with no tracks, and people are expected to be picked up before the tracks are laid. Leave everything just the way it is but stop with the persistent addition of stations before the player has had a chance to tweak and optimize what’s already there. It makes me abandon the game. You can still place them randomly at different places, for the challenge, but not at regular intervals. Just have a prompt “build new station”. Makes no sense to sometimes have 4 stations to connect across a river without having bridges…. Takes the fun out of the whole concept. What’s the point..Version: 1.6.1

I love this gameI’ve read other reviews where people get very frustrated with this game, but that isn’t the case for me. The puzzle has a simple object: get the passengers from point A to point B (or C). As time goes on, you get more stations, more passengers, and more supplies to grow your metro. When it’s simple it isn’t boring, and when it is chaotic it isn’t stressful. Compared to others on the leaderboard, I am awful at this game, but I still feel a sense of accomplishment when I lose. I’m aware that how I feel about this game won’t be how everyone feels, but many would agree with me that anyone could enjoy this game. I hope you found this review helpful..Version: 1.6.1

I’m obsessedThis game is so incredibly addicting and fun, I’ve been going through the different cities super fast. I would recommend this to anyone, honestly, it’s a good time. I have my whole family playing it haha. My only issue is that you can’t see how many items you have if you have more than 4 and it’s hard to see how many trains are on a line at a glance. It would be so useful if there was a numeric counter next to the lines/object inventory to show the amount of trains/items on a line/in your reserves. Thanks for making a quality mobile game, we all know how hard those are to come by these days. :).Version: 1.0.1

Deceptively simpleI haven’t downloaded a new game for a while. I found this when I was looking for a Transport Tycoon-style game, and I’m addicted! It’s beautifully designed (graphics and sound) and both relaxing and stressful at the same time. On the surface, it’s a simple game; keep the passengers moving, don’t let the stations get overcrowded. Limitless ways to achieve that, but as the number of stations increase, so your networks begin to get overloaded. Will you make it to Sunday night, when you get additional lines, trains, carriages, or bridges? If you prefer roads, try their sister app - Mini Motorways. I’m addicted to that one too..Version: 1.0

Great Game, Some Suggested TweaksI’ve picked this game back up, and it continues to be fun. Easy to fall away into. I do have a suggestion or two. First, it would be great if there were some color coding or patterns to help you better understand *which* stop people are trying to get to. Signifying by shape is great, but when there are six+ circles, you have no idea which circle they’re trying to get to. Not a big deal at first, but makes the game exponentially harder/ness impossible to decipher as time goes on. Second, would be great to have an indicator for number of carriages or trains per line..Version: 1.0.1

Beautiful challenging gameAt first play this game seems like a “chill” easy game that you play to relax. In fact it’s a deceptively deep strategy game where you learn to develop principles that guide your choices. Each map is also slightly different, so you can’t play each one the same way. Some maps are annoyingly hard, but you can pick whichever one you want. My only complaint is that you should be able to record a score with the daily challenge every day. If not, what’s the point of waiting for 8pm? Lol.Version: 1.4

Fun game but interactions are weirdThe game is fun and can be a great way to pass time. The only complaint I have is that the trains sometimes do not interact with full stations. I have tried an innumerable amount of times to put a train next to a station that needed relief from over crowding and the train just runs right past it no picking up a single passenger. It honestly has made many of my games lose and even the dailies have been cut short because the trains refuse to pick up passengers at the crowded station. Otherwise the game is great and has many hours of fun..Version: 1.5

ChallengingI Enjoy this game and would keep playing it but the competitive modes have just stopped showing scores. Game does not hold enough interest without having the ability to see what other folks are posting as a high score , it gets boring to quickly if I’m just competing with myself. Would also be interesting if you could see the winning map with the highest score.Version: 1.0

Frustratingly entertaining…Do not get this game if you suffer from any of the following: Sense of efficiency Sense of effectiveness Sense of humor Sense of fairness Or common sense This game will test your blood pressure and have you wondering just how powerful AI really is…it once ended my game at lower than 100. People get thousands on this app…I get less than 100! The game absolutely refuses to give you what you need to be competitive so unless you can ignore the above list, you are going to rip out the hair on your head. So, why the three stars, you ask? Because despite the frustrations associated with this game and it’s counterpart by this developer, they are truly interested in your feedback. They genuinely seem interested in hearing what you have to say despite telling you their software people can’t figure out why the AI is being so aggressive. Anyway, don’t try to play if you’re prone to high blood pressure already…this game will test the limits of what your heart can handle..Version: 1.0

Not very phone friendly…Would like to start this review by stating that this game is great! Similar to Mini Motorways this game is an awesome puzzle. My issue comes with the controls of the game. If you are on a small device and using your finger it is almost impossible to manage a complex railway system. Disconnecting and reconnecting stops is absolutely chaotic when you reach a high amount of passengers. If you play on a tablet or computer this game is flawless, but if you play on your phone be prepared for pretty frustrating gameplay..Version: 1.3.1

GoodDecent, fairly simplistic little game. I just don't get it. No matter what I do, I can't seem to fix an overly busy station. I get to a few hundred at best and then it's just over. The tutorial doesn't tell you anything about how to deal with it when it gets busy. I tried deleting all my tracks, laying out new tracks better organized, and it still ends quickly. I suppose if someone does figure it out more quickly this could be fun, but I can't get anywhere with it. Uninstalled..Version: 1.6

I love this game but I wish it was more complicatedI think this game is great but I wish it took a piece of mini motorways and allowed different trains to travel on the tracks, maybe requiring a controller or changeover or something but I feel like that would make it a lot more realistic and interesting. This would really make a lot of sense with bridges and tunnels. Trains share these things irl all the time!.Version: 1.1

FantasticIf I had to choose one game to have on my phone right now— this would be it. Can play for 5 minutes or 3 hours without getting tired, looks professional in business settings, fun, pleasing, challenging. Everything a good game should be. One thing I’d like changed is being able to see where a station spawns underneath a line you’ve drawn. It’s confusing not knowing if you’ve attached it or not.Version: 1.0

Surprisingly AddictiveMinimalist, simple, yet terrifically challenging. It hits about the same place that the original SimCity did for me. One minor gripe ‘ feature suggestion: I’d sure like to *see* the top 10 maps on the Daily Leaderboard. Some of the scores are, frankly, difficult to believe. Update: I just now noticed that Disasterpeace did the audio!? Very, very cool. It’s not in-yer-face, but the audio is extremely well done..Version: 1.0

So Zen 😁💯Just what I’ve been searching for, I rarely last long with game audio and switch to anything else. Not here. Love the lack of pressure for achievements and “doing it right”. It’s just smooth calming fun. Zen is the best way I can explain this type of game. Nor do I write these often, at this point I’m usually deleting a new game not writing a review. Not for hardcore gaming, but that’s why I have an xbox. NO STRESS FUN!!!.Version: 1.0

Pretty good overall, just one thingThe game is enjoyable and addicting for me. It’s very easy to catch on to and the devs did an outstanding job animating and designing everything, from the trains to the stations. Though I do have a suggestion, the devs created a big map but only use the center piece of the map and leave the rest blank. Maybe if the stations spawned more outwards. Thank you..Version: 1.0

Super stylishI really like this game, but there are a couple things that would make it more interesting for me. I know part of the challenge is having to respond in real time to the increasing needs of your 'city', but I would love to be able to freeze it and really analyze what's happening. d.Version: 1.3.2

Fix the noiseThis used to be a great game. But now the low grade mechanical noise effect is more grating than listening to my husband chew. Edit- I love this game and the developers were so responsive to my issue that I’ve retracted my negative rating. I was able to get the noise to go away by shutting down my phone and reinstalling the game..Version: 1.0

Leaderboard GlitchThis game is fantastic. Maybe my favorite in the arcade. I would totally say 5 stars but there the glitch in leaderboard stats is like a tease and doesn't feel good. I'm not a competitive person and don't normally get into stats. But seeing the exact ranking and percent was really cool and it only happened once and stopped showing up. Is there a fix? Playing on IPad Pro with latest version of ios.Version: 1.1

Just give us branch lines!I've been playing MM since it was just browser-based and it's never lost it's luster. I just wish there was a way to make branch lines on the outer portions of a single line and have special stations where those lines converge into the core..Version: 1.3.2

GraphicsThe game is quite nice and I’ve enjoyed it so far. I play Mini Motorways as well but if I could change something about Mini Metro+, it would be that I wish is had the same graphics as Mini Motorways. I think it would make the game much more enjoyable!.Version: 1.5

Wow!! This is so much fun!The concept is simple and offers challenging scenarios. As a map geek this game really wins the the Harry Beck gold prize! The ability switch difficulty levels and game/free play mode is outstanding. I hope these features are incorporated into Mini Motorways soon..Version: 1.3.1

Color Circle MenuWhat is this color circle menu for and Is there a way to hide the color circle menu when you aren’t using it? Otherwise I love this game! Could you add additional color options for the lines..Version: 1.0.1

Love this!I would honestly pay the original price of what Mini Metro was! This is worth 5 bucks, and I would gladly pay that instead of this subscription for the Apple Arcade! Please release this on normal App Store for purchase! It is a must!.Version: 1.7.1

Great game, some broken featuresAbsolutely obsessed with this game but the leaderboards loaded once and haven’t worked since (even after reinstall). Kinda ruins the competitive nature of the daily and challenge modes. Please fix devs!.Version: 1.0

Massive glitch on Macbook ProLove this game so much but it’s got a glitch where the background is full of grey or red lines and you cant really see anything. i’ve reinstalled twice, same issue both times..Version: 1.4

Please add a volume muteThe game is charming and engaging but the fact that I can’t mute the train noise is frustrating. I can eliminate the background music, so this feels like a really easy fix. I would like to be able to listen to books/podcasts/music while playing the game but the low level track hum is distracting and grating..Version: 1.0

Soooo AddictiveI downloaded this game yesterday and haven’t been able to put it down since. I love the minimalistic UI, the music and sound effects are amazing, all around a very well put together game..Version: 1.0

Simple and addictingI downloaded this on a whimsy and I've already have a few hours of gameplay in it. Probably one of the better games on the Apple Store.Version: 1.2

I love this gameI played the original years ago. I am unable to open MiniMetro +. I get a “Syncing with iCloud” progress wheel that never stops spinning. Same behavior with iPhone XS and iPad Pro 10.5. Hoping the developer sees this and can help..Version: 1.0

Fun and very good gameThe music is relaxing and the game is very enjoyable. Dinosaur Polo club makes really good games. This game is a must play for Apple Arcade. By the way if you enjoy this game you should probably check out mini motorways as well. Very good game and very good devs..Version: 1.0

Need resourcesSo when I am in dyer need of something like a tunnel for example , another week and I have line or carriage and I lose because I did not get the resources i needed plz fix.Version: 1.2

I’m glad this existsThis Apple Arcade game reminds me of my local metro in Budapest now that it’s in mini metro, I feel encouraged to play the game to unlock. This game along with mini motorways are Must-plays for anyone on Apple Arcade..Version: 1.1

Could you please add bangkokI would love it if you added bangkok it is an interesting city and they actually have a real life metro aka MRT BTS Airport link and many more! Thank you for reading this..Version: 1.5

Brilliant GameI love this game, and I enjoy it so much! I do have one bug to report, which is that in Osaka you cannot get more Shinkansens in endless mode. Otherwise, it’s a great game..Version: 1.3.2

Fun game! This is a nice little game, it runs smoothly the graphics look good and the controls are great. One nitpick is that I just completed London and the actual metro there is waaay more developed tho, why didn’t you pick a smaller city if you wanted a smaller transport system?.Version: 1.0

Love the gameGreat game, very addictive. Just wish we could turn off the background noise and keep the other gameplay sounds..Version: 1.0

Fun but guaranteed frustratingI enjoy this game even though I know it’s guaranteed to lead to frustration. It’s like it’s rigged to never let you go above a certain level. I HATE that you can only have your first attempt at the Daily Challenge appear on the scoreboard. I’d love it if I could try a second time so I could learn from what went wrong the first time. It amazes me how the game suddenly defeats you by causing excess demand at a station where it knows you’re not able to address it. Having it end so brutally creates so much frustration, you know the limitations of the game created the problem and then the game exploits you in that problem. It amounts to curtailing the fun. I’m afraid I’ll have to quit playing. You have a lot of fun at first but the sense of frustration grows and eventually outweighs the fun. You start asking yourself, why am I doing this to myself? I don’t want to be left feeling frustrated all the time. I’d like a sense of reward and accomplishment. Of solving something. Not a guaranteed defeat. I’m not a stupid person who can’t solve puzzles. The “intelligence” in this game has to realize it’s playing with humans, not another computer. It’s like those early computer chess games that never let you win. Not a nice feeling..Version: 1.7.3

I love itI love it i didint know a metro could be so hard it also is great vary fun i love it keep up the good work :D.Version: 1.0

Fun and relaxingThis game is actually pretty fun and relaxing. The sound effects are also a nice touch..Version: 1.7.1

Love this gameIt's fun.Version: 1.6

Highly Recommend for anybody who’s a transit enthusiast like me!!Loved it! I enjoyed both Mini Metro and Mini Motorways. Please add the subway system for Toronto as well. Currently has 4 lines only (yellow, green, blue, purple), but there’s currently two lines (orange and gray) that are in the works that are scheduled to open this year and next year.Version: 1.3.2

Great game! 👍Awesome game to kill time while taking the browns to the Super Bowl!.Version: 1.1

I love this gameWould love more games like it.Version: 1.0

Great game, but I think some rule updated and a new game mode would make it betterGame is super fun! I would like if there was some option, mode, or rule change to make interlining more interesting. You could use one bridge for two lines (but get lower frequency on the branches), or serve more rides without a transfer on extreme mode to later undo the interlining (since that just changes routing and not tracks) allowing for more creative early game routing. I would also love to see a new game mode that begins with the city’s existing metro and the player must expand it..Version: 1.1

Needs more variety or train typeGreat game to play and chill but except for Osaka and Mumbai the other maps are kinda boring after replaying. But overall pretty good.Version: 1.0.1

I don’t understandI don’t know how to play this game but I’m sure that when I figure it out I’ll love it (I loved mini motorways).Version: 1.3.2
