Let me start of by saying that the book I’ve been reading is actually very interesting and I’ve enjoyed it. Apart from that, this app is too expensive. Chapters are about a page and a half of a regular book. Your coins are being used every chapter and before you’ve realized it you’ve ran out of coins on just a few chapters. They seem to be adding chapters to the story as you’re reading to make you spend more and extend the story. Before I started the story of my choice I noticed it was 240 something chapters. I’ve paid so much money just to reach 300 something and now the last chapter is “400+”. Insane !!!!! I’ve spent too much money on trying to finish this story because I do like it but they’re really taking advantage of you allow them. If you don’t mind, you’ll be paying about 200 or more on just 1 story. Please be mindful of this before you even get yourself involved. Just looking out for you and your funds 💕

Your stories are very good but the quality is made less because the designers appear unable to count. It says watch 2 ads but that is never what is required. I just had to watch 2 ads and read 8 articles for a single short chapter. Earlier today the MINIMUM WAS watch 2 ads plus 4 articles or one ad plus 8 articles. I wouldn’t mind the three ad requirement if it didn’t state 2 articles. Apps with errors like that indicate to me that the designers are either lazy and careless or don’t bother doing the work when income requirements they increase the number of ads to three. I have no idea why the last I read required the equivalent of 4 ads. I don’t play game with typos because if they screw that up and can’t be bothered fixing it why would I believe the game wasn’t full of bugs. I feel the same about the fact this apps creators appear unable to count. I also would like to know if you guarantee the articles you send us to are virus, malware, etc. free? I enjoy your books but I don’t trust the safety of your app!

I love the stories on here. They’re entertaining and written very well. So, the stories are great, but… I wouldn’t waste your time unless you want to spend the next 5 years trying to unlock every chapter in just one book. The book I’m currently reading is 400 chapters and costs 20-30+ pearls/coins per chapter. The chapters are extremely short and should costs 5 pearls/coins max to unlock. Or they should offer watching one ad to unlock one chapter and even then I bet the ads will be longer than those chapters, but I’d rather deal with that. They offer a monthly subscription that costs $40 the first month and then $50 every month after. Or a quarterly subscription (every 3 months) for $80 your first payment and $100 every month after. Or an annual membership that costs $160 your first month and $190 every month after. Mind you, those subscriptions don’t include the short stories. You have to pay a separate subscription to get those. You can also buy pearls/coins to unlock chapters, but those prices are also outrages for how many chapters you can actually unlock with them, compared to how many chapters there are. Their cheapest coin/pearl pack is only $2, but you only get about 262 coins/pearls. Which unlocks only about 6 chapters before you’d have to buy more. You can also do articles/videos to earn pearls/coins, but it gives you very little each time. So unlocking one chapter takes like 20 minutes. Basically they have great stories, but… ultimately it’s up to you if you want to break the bank, spend a ridiculous amount on a subscription, or just say screw it and find another reading app. Novel Flow, Wattpad, and Freewave are good reading apps that I’d recommend. You don’t have to spend money on any one of these and they’ve got pretty amazing stories.

I love the app so far. I only downloaded it to read 1 story to be honest. I wasn’t sure at first because of some of the reviews complaining about paying to read. I think it’s ridiculous because I haven’t had to pay anything since downloading the app. They give you so many opportunities to get pearls to read rather than purchasing. Each day you come back and claim daily pearls or check in, you get more opportunities to collect more pearls. In one week, I had 500 pearls collected. I didn’t have to buy anything just came back and did the daily activities for 5 minutes each day. It really isn’t that hard. But so far loving the app.

Found this app thru Facebook ads and was skeptical at first but the majority of the stories i have read here so far are really great! Some stories you can tell were translated (some worse than others) but are manageable to get through if you focus on the plot instead of the dialogue. Others are so well written you don’t want them to end! And the good ones that are in progress are updated by authors pretty regularly so you dont lose sight of the plots. The only thing I wish the app would do is have a separate section for books completed and those that aren’t or are in progress.

I am currently not able to afford to pay to read, so being able to watch ads to unlock chapters is great. BUT… I find it very frustrating to be limited to a couple of chapters at a time. Why add the forced wait? Why not just make me watch more ads? The ads are where you get your income from me. By forcing me to wait you are limiting your own income. It makes no sense, and annoys me no end. When I start a book I like to read it to the end at my own pace. Due to the forced wait I will be deleting the app once I finish the book I am reading. Great read, but I have no patience with the forced waiting.

Love the app as I follow quite a few books on there. However seeing as I don’t have time to sit around and read I tend to use the audio function but the audio suckkkkkssss. It’s bad enough that it uses the plain robotic generic AI to read which is still ok once you adapt to it. The annoying part is that sound of AMUSKO or something sounding like that that pops up every 5-10 seconds when reading usually when there are special characters or apostrophes or exclamations. Throws the entire reading experience off. Like the sound off nails on a chalk board

I love the novels on this app. They are very engaging and will have you hooked on the story. As with every other reviewer, it’s cost way to much money to continue to read the story. Ultimately you will end up paying over $200 for a book. I’m sorry but it’s totally not worth it. I really wanted to finish the novel I started reading but I can’t stand to see another $10 come out of my account for the fifth day in a row. If you’re looking for an app with same type of spicy novels and engaging stories download Galatea. You can pay on a monthly basis and have unlimited reading.

I just started reading it so far so good. Hopefully will continue the way it is and direct to the point. Please don’t drag it too much.

I would say that I enjoy the books on this app but I have about 20 other apps where these authors will upload the same books. I purchased coins and was directed to “purchase from the website to gain more coins”. I have done this multiple times without issues so everything works smoothly, no problem, until there was. On Friday I purchased coins and my account didn’t reflect the purchase. When I went to look for customer service help I came across Q&As that suggested waiting 48 hours for it to load to your account. I still went ahead and found the message center and sent a message. I heard nothing back that day. The next day I attached a screenshot of the purchase in a second message and waited as my coins still hadn’t loaded and my prior message still showed “not seen yet”. Today, marking 48 hours later, the coins are still not loaded/ registered to my account. My messages are still “not seen yet”, the difference is there is a message that says “we’ll be back in an hour”. So I wrote them again in hopes of being noticed, to no avail. An hour later I went back my messages are still unseen and the message says “we’ll be back in 30 mins”. I have even emailed them. The fact that you cannot reach someone immediately knowing that this seems to be a common issue (bc they have a 48hour regulation) is uncomfortable. It doesn’t feel safe, unless you like gambling, but I don’t remember reading that as an option before purchasing.

I started reading a book that was engaging and immediately drew me in. I’m an avid reader and quickly went through the first chapter (ridiculously short chapters that are about 2 pages worth of material in a regular book). Unfortunately, I extremely disappointed to find that this “free app” is nothing more than a money making scheme! You are required to purchase coins or pearls I order to keep reading one chapter at a time. The ridiculously short chapters are all pay as you go after chapter 15 and the books are over 3500 chapters long. If you fall for the scam you’ll end paying over $200 for a single book! The complaint I had went nowhere and it’s a simple recommendation to utilize their free reading options (laughable). They have the same stock answer for every complaint. If you are person who likes to read very little over a great length of time and pay insane amounts of money for a book, this ap is for you! If you love a great story and enjoy paying 20$ and reading a book cover to cover once you start, DO NOT get this app!!! Your experience will be to the contrary! WORST APP EVER!!! Don’t waste your time getting hooked on a story you won’t get to finish! If there was an option to not give any stars in this rating I would. 1 is the lowest so that’s what I give!

Too expensive. I spent 20 dollars to get about 80 chapters into a 1800+ chapter book. I calculated that I would have to spend hundreds of dollars to finish it! About $650 if I kept buying the $4.99 worth of coins, like I had been. They must be aware that no one in their right mind can afford to spend hundreds on a book, they are probably making a fortune off people buying a few coins, realizing how expensive it is and deleting the app. Of course they advertise their expensive books the most. It doesn’t matter if they have some free books, the fact that the charge hundreds for their paying books is insane! And then they have the nerve to suggest you give gifts to the author, as if they aren’t the ones assigning expensive price tags to their work! If the author is actually worth hundreds per read, then they don’t need gifts, though I wouldn’t be surprised if the authors make a cent for every million they make. I have googled and tried to find anyway to earn chapters for free. And no luck, if it is possible, they are keeping it as inconspicuous as possible. Just read the replies to negative reviews and see how shameless this app is, they know they are ripping readers off, and they have the nerve to act like they’re a charity for readers.

First what I want to say is, I like the Novel I haven’t read a Novels in decade since I lost interest to it. The this site shows to my Facebook feeds so I start reading it. So I went ahead download the apps , I read till chapter 15 when chapter 16 is lock I have to pay coins or pearls. They have free pearls for new costumer put info and reading in such of time. I’ve collected all those free pearls then starting reading again till I run out off pearls at chapter 20. So I decided to purchase the subscription for $9.99 for coins and pearls. It didn’t take long the 700 coins was used up in chapter 50 something can’t remember 😳 I got disappointed cause I wanna finish the novel that I’m reading. And there I go again I bought another $9.99 coins 700 and 100 pearls in the same day😐👀. I use all that and got to chapter 80’s something. I’m really disappointed 😔. I want to say to the creator of this site to consider the readers to read the novels with the subscription and have the option for some to buy the coins to pay for the novel’s not chapters or let us have the option buy the book then you can satisfy your readers and stay

Started this because it seemed like an interesting story line although it the grammar indicated it was written by someone from another country. This wasn’t the problem. That started when you had to start buying coins since the pearls you collected on a daily basis where useless. The only way to unlock the next chapter was buying coins starting at 4.99 and going up. To make it worse when you tap on read for 10 more mintues or 60 mintues, it dosen’t work so you are force to buy more coins to continue. Also, it appears the longer it goes, the more writers seem to get involved, the grammar increasingly get worse, to the point of almost making no sense. The final straw is what started as about 350 to 400 chapters has increased to over 1000 chapters with no end in sight. None of the gifts work, none of the pearls work. Nothing work but cash and I’m not sure you are getting the coins you pay for. All this plus a story line that has went to ridiculous is enough for me to call it quits. Take my advice, buy a Kindle or just a good paperback and get something out of it. The only reason I gave it 1star is there is nothing lower.

There seem to be no real restrictions on authors. So books are hundreds of chapters, often with the exact same “misunderstanding” driving the book. It takes about a hundred chapters to get a mild resolution. And the yearly subscription is ridiculously high. But if you pay for a certain number of pearls/coins, you end up paying about $30 for maybe 1/3 of a book, or around 100 chapters. The quality of the stories and writing can’t justify the cost of this app. The length of the chapters also doesn’t warrant the number and length of ads you would have to watch in order to unlock the content without paying for it directly. Many of the stories have a decent/interesting premise, but it quickly becomes diluted by the author’s intent to draw the book out for as long as possible. Some of the stories are written well enough that I would be interested in continuing to read them. However, none that I have come across are good enough to justify the number of chapters. Certainly none of them are good enough to justify the amount of money or number of ads.

I really like this app but I will say that I have another app with some of the same books I like. The difference between the two is that this app I have the gold membership ($30 about) and I am given pearls every day (not enough to really read anything so I’m spending extra money still) while the other app I have the gold membership ($40 about) and it unlocks all books for me. I will say this app has better mechanics but still not as worth it as the other one money wise. The other app I use has some of the same authors but not all of their books like this one unfortunately so I stay with this app because of that. With that being said when I look at the other memberships in this app they don’t make sense so they need to do better in what is offered in each membership like the other app I use. I should not have to pay a high amount each month and another $100 to be able to actually read more than a few chapters

This was a solid reading app and even though the monthly free reading pass was $40 a little steep, but I could read several ongoing books at once since none of them ever seem to be completed. Took a break due to busy work schedule and finally had some time to come back to the app. Now a monthly ready pass is $80. That is insane for books that take forever to update and are not completed. Even if you found one that was complete the number of chapters a lot of these books have you couldn’t complete it in a month. There is no value in this app anymore. Which is a shame. Sure I can try to read one chapter a day or every other day depending on pearl cost. But buying pearls isn’t worth it either. You would end up spending just as much if not more than the monthly pass and still not get to finish a book. For the price they are asking I could buy 5-6 hardcover books, or subscribe to multiple of their competitors. Really a shame they doubled their prices. Time for a new app.

I started using this app a few weeks ago and have found some interesting stories to read. I like how this app allows you to open chapters by viewing ads rather than having to pay to unlock each chapter like some other apps. I would give this a higher rating, however, my main issue is with the ads, specifically the ones requiring you to read articles or visit websites. I don’t mind ads, but I’d rather just watch a ad for a game or another app then trying to navigate the website with the articles. Having to read article articles makes the process of unlocking one chapter take three times as long as just watching a one minute ad. My only suggestion would be to stick to the standard ads and get rid of the task list for unlocking chapters as it’s not efficient because the app doesn’t always recognize that you’ve reviewed the articles.

It is not free to read the books on this app, no matter how many different ways they say “stop paying to read” it is literally the same thing as every other one of these apps. Don’t got get me wrong, I love supporting writers! I have 2 huge bookshelves full of physical, tangible, smellable, books. All hardcover I might add, that didn’t cost me more than $40. I think it is incredibly and excessively expensive to pay upwards of $100 for something you will never own. If the books had a set price of $40 a piece, I would devour them! I can’t justify spending so much money on something that you do not own. Set a price up front, stop with the per chapter stuff, no one know exactly how much one of these reads, can’t even call it a book, it’s just a read, will cost them. It’s truly heartbreaking that most of these very good authors will not get the notoriety the deserve, because people will get tries of paying so much for so little in return.

I initially paid to get Pearls to read the books but I noticed they take away extra pearls before you even opt to read the chapter. For Example, it may say you have 250 pearls and then when you get to the next chapter it says you have 240 and then it says you have to pay 18 pearls to read the next chapter but they already took 10 pearls so now they have charged you 28 pearls to read the chapter. Even if you get a free book and you earn free pearls you will notice that at one point you earned 50 pearls or so and have 300+ pearls and you watch videos to read chapters for free and then at the end of the day you have only 265 pearls. They basically took all the pearls you earned for “free” but took them away even though you unlocked chapters by watching the ads. The stories are good but I won’t pay for the pearls after noticing they they were deducting extra from me. 😡

I wanna start by saying that Joyread has really good stories and has a wide variety of genres, but the more you read the more Pearls(or coins) it costs you for the chapters as well as when I first got the app the videos(Which you can only do 5 times for more pearls) used to be 10 then I noticed it dropped down to 7 and now it’s at 5 (only enough for one chapter maybe two if your lucky) like is this how the developers keep their customers because to be honest with you I love this book app but I’m seriously thinking about deleting it and finding something else if this continues to go on like this, all I want at the end of the day is a good book to read that’s not super expensive and eating into my funds. Please fix this or tell me why you are making the chapters more expensive and lessening the video pearls.

The story I WAS reading was so good, I was addicted! I read like 3 chapters, and then all of a sudden I need coins to unlock more. I figured $10 for 700 coins, sure, it’ll last me a bit and I figure I’m supporting the authors. Then each chapter turns out to be like 40 coins each, and an hour later-BOOM, have to pay another $10 minimum to continue reading. I was REALLY into the story, so I figured, why not, the story is probably almost over. Wrong-the story was 300+ chapters long. I spent $22 to ready 89 chapters (which BTW each chapter is about as long as 2 pages would be in a real printed book). So to finish the book, it’s so much more than I would pay to go to a bookstore and buy a real book from a real author…. I would have gladly paid $20 for the story I was reading, but it said I needed like 8,000 more coins to unlock the remaining chapters, which is a minimum of like $120 more. Ridiculous! Be aware before you get super into a story!!

Good story but it moves to slowly and chapters are inconsistent in length!! Also i wish i could purchase this book because i am so over the B.S. you have to go through to earn pearls,it is nothing but a bait and switch..they say watch 2 ads and earn pearls,they neglect to say that in reality those 2 ads turn into 4 or 6 ads and if your lucky you made receive those pearls maybe!!!!! I have made the mistake in purchasing pearls only to be ripped off!!! Someone needs to learn math because your math does not add up properly. Also be more consistent in the amount of pearls per chapter,you spend more pearls on shorter chapters - RIP OFF. I am now deleteing this app feeling much disappointment in the fact that i will not know how the book ends even though i have a pretty good idea of it..Hey maybe it will become a lifetime movie one day since this story falls right in their wheel house of stories.

I started reading this book on Facebook. It was interesting and caught my attention so I went ahead and downloaded the app as directed. I continued to read only to find out that I have to purchase coins to continue reading. I said to myself "well its like purchasing a book from the a book store. The only problem is that I'm purchasing chapters that are very short. I must admit the book is so good that I want to continue reading it. At the same time the book has 1700+ short chapters and I will end up paying well over $100+ to finish the book. Another thing, if I'm paying all this money but don't even have audio reading as an option while I'm driving or too busy to sit and read, what's the point. I love the story but once I'm done with my coins, I'm done with the book and the app. Readers should have an option to purchase the whole book at a set price.

I have been reading my second story on this app and enjoy the stories. However, the app has been cheating me out of pearls I have earned from checking in and watching numerous ads. I cannot PAY for the pearls/coins due to being low income, so I have to watch two to five ads for 2 pearls. When I have enough pearls to open the next chapter is does not give me the option to unlock it , only to watch more ads for more free pearls. Then when I have more than what I need, plus “bonus” pearls I have to scroll back up a chapter, end up scrolling down TWO chapter I have already unlocked and read, only to find all my “earned pearls” are gone and it still won’t let me use “bonus” pearls to open the chapter!

Do the math b4 you decide to buy their coins . Each chapter is very short and the book i got into was over 200 chapters probably more a d to advance beyond chapter 16 you have to pay 10-15 coins per chapter. Do the math and you will find that by the time you have completed the novel you would have paid upwards to $100 per book. I refused to pay for a single coin as this money making structure scams people. The book was free for 1st 16 chapters, then starting on chapter 17 you have to pay coins to advance forward so I scrolled through to see how many chapters the book entailed and i stopped scrolling at chapter200+…needless to say, paying a few dollars for online content is reasonable but hundreds for 1 supposed novel with grammatical errors is outrageous and wrong on so many levels. So I immediately deleted the app - what a waste of my time

After reading an excerpt, I downloaded this app and decided to give it a try. Turns out, you must purchase coins to read chapters of a book. I don’t mind as I’m an avid reader and know not everything is free. That being said, I like to know I spend my hard earned money on something reasonable and valuable. Anyways, Mind you each chapter are sometimes only 4 - 5 pages and books can be up to 200+ chapters. You aren’t given the option to purchase the whole book for a number of coins, which would be fine but then your also purchasing chapters at different amount of coins for each chapter. Example, one chapter of 10 pages may cost 25 coins versus one with 4 pages may cost 11 coins. I have purchased over 1,200 coins and only reach chapter 70, spending over $20+. To be honest, I felt scammed and have deleted this app since.

The chapters are too short, filled with grammatical errors and poor sentence structure. Buying the coins and pearls to unlock chapters makes the books over $50 each just to finish them. Some can be even more costly. Even playing the games to earn pearls doesn’t get you far. They get you hooked with the first 20 chapters, there seems to be very few errors in the first chapters, once you burn though all options for free pearls and you start buying them, the sentences start to make less sense with more spelling errors. By then though, you’re just trying to finish the book. I also found that it seems you spend both pearls and coins at the same time when unlocking characters. By the time you run out of the coins you’ve paid for, you’ve conveniently run out of pearls too. 🤔 Just don’t bother getting started.

I as others started reading a book on Facebook. I as others downloaded this app. I as others also spent a little bit not much to continue reading but for a book that has 3000+ chapters that are only 1-2 pages long if that of a normal book this is a rip off. The stories are great but you charge too much. I hope everyone else is smart and sees how big of a rip off this one is. I know these are authors trying to make it in the real world but charging what you do for coins is outrageous. The option for free pearls isn’t enough and the ads don’t even exist to play for free pearls it always errors. Some of these novel apps do daily reading times instead of weekly for free coins or pearls. Once I’m out of coins and pearls I refuse to spend anymore of my own money on a story that’s is going to cost me well over $100 to finish.

It’s ridiculous what these pay per chapter apps charge you to read a book especially when 1 chapter is likely only 2 pages. It’s also ridiculous that the further along you get in a book, the more coins they want to charge you per chapter. There should be ONE set price PER chapter! Not changing every chapter. What happened to all the ways to earn free coins/pearls? Now you only get 8 or 10 chances depending on how many days you log in and they’re only worth 5 coins when 1 chapter is usually >30. Also a personal peeve of mine in the rewards section where it says “Watch the Ads” for 5 pearls each, those should be Ads you watch! Not more task lists you have to go through that are ridiculous. Each book should be allowed the 2 free chapters by completing the tasks, not just 1.

This app is ridiculous, I cannot believe it has such a high rating. They get you hooked on a story on facebook or something and then when you get the app you get to read a couple very short chapters and then you have to pay. Sometimes it lets you unlock a chapter by watching some ads, but then it’s right back to paying. I bought $10 worth of “tokens” and that got me nowhere even close to 1/4 of the way through the book (it has over 300 chapters). I honestly think by the end of the book I’d probably have to pay $100. And the monthly subscription is ridiculously expensive. I really liked the story and really wanted to finish it but there is no way I’m paying that much. Do yourself a favor and just get Kindle Unlimited for like $12 a month. It is a MUCH better deal.

I don’t understand any of the good reviews on this app. They must be written by paid reviewers. It’s a MASSIVE scam. I tried reading one book so purchased coins to start. Unfortunately it wasn’t clear you have to keep purchasing coins to finish the book. The app chips away at you without realizing. For instance, you can purchase 700 coins for $9.99. Okay $10 for an ebook seems reasonable and 700 coins should be plenty right? I have only made it to chapter 75 and have already been suckered into spending $40. After some internet sleuthing I found out there’s 380 chapters in the book! I did the math and if I want to finish the book it will cost me over $200!!!🤬 AND the book is riddled with grammar and spelling issues. It’s completely unedited and the author’s name is nowhere to be found. This isn’t just a scam, it’s criminal.

I have had this app for over 6 months and have loved it!!! Until their recent update. I have a monthly plan and on my down days I go over and beyond the time so I purchase extra coins/pearls. The last time I used my Apple cash account was on 10/29 and then went to get more on 11/5 and it was declined. But there was plenty of cash in that account. I have been on the phone with Apple support trying to find out what is going on and why this is happening. In the end they said that it is on JOYREADS end not theirs. If this isn’t fixed then I will most likely have to cancel my plan and find another listening app. Waiting to hear back from JOYREADS customer service team. We will see to be continued.

They lure you in with the promise that you won’t have to pay to continue reading but it’s a lie. Too expensive and the stories are poorly written. As a published author I lost count of the punctuation and grammatical errors. Story goes nowhere. Each chapter is the same just different situations places. Basically a rinse and repeat chapter. The one I was reading had 2,503 chapters! I overlooked all the errors and missed words and mixed up names and kept reading. Almost every sentence ends with an exclamation point (!) but I continued to read until I had to pay! I’ll stick with WATTPAD which truly is FREE and has hundreds of book choices, something for everyone. Many of the stories there have won awards and have been published. Run away from these fly by night apps that promise the are free until they aren’t.

I read. I devour books. This is absolutely the worst reading experience I’ve ever had. I read through Kindle Unlimited, Audible, Nook, Instaread, Wattpad, Chirp, Smashword, Netgalley and some online based reading sites. Any of them are better than this App. Don’t waste your money. The books I’ve read are ridiculous. It sort of feels like someone wrote the books in a foreign language then used one of those terrible internet translation sites to change it to English. It reads that badly. Then there is the problem with the facts. The books bend procedure, normalcy, reality and science to just make the the books longer. The books are so repetitive that they become annoying very quickly. When I say overpriced, I mean you could buy special edition hardcovers by awesome authors for cheaper than this mess.

Between the ads that won’t work right like they are suppose to and the ones that pop up for no reason interrupting your story, you will find amazing stories deserve a better app than this. Don’t worry, when you contact support for any issues, if you get someone, they will ask what’s wrong and then you won’t hear back from them for hours, until they finally state that their tech where gone yesterday due to holiday, or something. No holidays for the at least 3 days when I checked to confirm online. Another support rep trying to cover his behind with an excuses that won’t even line up. Don’t bother with the app, it isn’t worth the time. You can find apps that work way better, I know, because I have been testing them all.

The fact that you are aggressively targeting readers using ads on social media to entice them to a story to which you then do not allow us to outright buy the book for is ridiculous. The thing that really puts the icing on the cake for why I will be reporting every ad I see is that paying $20 because you falsely claimed that you could pay to download the rest of the book chapters to read them all and then proceeded to only unlike a third of the book is a full blown scam. Books of this size average $20-25 and yet you have made micro chapters so you can eternally charge people $100 to just finish a read. This is not to mention that the quality of the editing is not good enough so you are reading something that seems to have very obvious chunks of story missing.

I don’t know what happened but ALL my stuff is gone! The book I PAID for and the 1200 coins PAID for as well. I have enjoyed this app for a few years now so I’m really upset about this I sent them a message last night still haven’t heard anything. I’d like to either get a refund or my books back. Update: Been over a week and they still haven’t fixed my account. Talking to them does no good. I had 1200 coins saved in there and over half a dozen COMPLETED books I finished. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I’m deleting this app. UPDATE: They’ve done absolutely nothing to help me with my account. I lost tons of money in this app. On top of the full and completed books I paid for. App service absolute NON EXISTENT. Don’t waste your time.

This app is expensive. It does offer free pearls for reading but it’s not enough to read 5 short chapters. Most of the stories are pretty long and take forever to get to the point. The chapters are short and it typically cuts off at the peak of a situation which is to encourage you to buy more coins. The writers are pretty good and the novels are interesting. This app is no different than the others. I would prefer more apps where you can purchase the entire novel. By the time you read one story with 2000 chapters you could easily spent $50. I enjoy the none seductive detailed novels. This app has quite a few so I appreciate they from the writers.

I go through ebooks like crazy. I don’t generally like the pay as you go plan for anything but when my instagram kept showing a preview of a book that looked interesting I gave it a shot. You pay for coins and earn pearls that you use to buy chapters. Unfortunately each chapter is at most 3-4 pages long and often ends in the middle of the paragraph with the paragraph continuing in the next “chapter.” I’m over 100 chapters in and there is nothing even close to the preview in the sponsored ad. With the length of the chapters and the cost of coins, it would easily cost over $20 for a falsely advertised story written by an amateur that could easily have been told in a $2.99 ebook novella.

The content is good. Like many others I started reading something on facebook and ended up downloading the app. I’ve downloaded other novel apps this way too. The problem is, the coins are EXTREMELY expensive in this app. Other apps you can pay to open the whole book. This one you have to pay per chapter and the story I started reading has 500+ chapters. I figured $20 for a book isn’t terrible so bought the $20 coin pack. However, after 200 chapters, I ran out of coins! I’m not going to pay $100 for a book. And the “free pearls” feature is a joke. It costs 10-20 coins/pearls to open a chapter and you can only make 30-40 pearls a day. So you can get 2 chapters a day (which are only about 7 “pages” long). I will definitely be deleting this app.

I started reading a book on this app, and was sucked in by the plot although the book was clearly not edited at all. Several chapters have spelling errors, and the wrong character names. ( Toby/ Tony, Sonia / Sophia). I was overlooking those errors at first. I found out the app wanted coins to purchase more chapters, so I purchased the $9.99 package, and kept reading. That quickly ran out, and I spent another $9.99 for more coins. After those coins were gone, I went to see how many “chapters” were left. I spend $20 to read less than half of a book. I was only on chapter 78 out of 180, and the first 10 chapters I read were free. So, no I’m not paying $50 to read one book. Complete ripoff, do not start any of these books, save your money.

Touch of Sweetness a nice I started reading have over 1900 chapters. In order to finish this book one would be spending over $500 if not more. On average each chapter is roughly 2 -3 pages if actually written in a physics book. When trying to reach out to their customer app due to story having several grammatical , spelling, and flow of read mistakes ( mentioning a character or place or thing when it should me another ) they have blocked my emails from coming through. They do not do their due diligence to make sure books submitted are correct and charge a ridiculous amount to read a book by breaking sections down into small chapters and making you pay more to keep reading. It’s unethical and unfair the readers. Greed is what it boils down to .

I enjoy reading. And I don’t mind paying for books to read within a reasonable amount. But this is out of control, you’re looking at being charged hundreds of dollars just to be able to read a book that you’re not keeping or downloading. Sure you can watch ADs and get a free chapter here and there. Or you can buy a monthly subscription but you’re still limited how much you can read. you will either go broke if you pay to read it, our it will take forever waiting months and months being feed a couple chapters a month. Worst scam ever. You’re not even playing a game. Your reading. Absolutely nothing special here. What a let down.

I liked the app and the book about Alpha there, I even topped up my account - first for 10 dollars, then I wanted again for 5. But when I bought pearls for the second time, I was charged not 5 dollars, but 15, although I received coins and pearls as for a package worth 5 dollars. The support service ignores me and message in chat constantly says that they will answer later. But still nobody answered:) I'm not asking for a refund, it's probably no longer possible, but I want to at least get coins and pearls for the amount that was debited from my card :c

The story I started reading has more than 1850 “chapters.” The “chapters” are maybe the length of 1-2 pages of a normal book. Most chapters cost 20+ coins. The story is good, but the writing is just okay. The story would cost around $300 to finish or you can “earn” coins daily. You usually only earn enough to unlock 1-2 chapters which is the equivalent of 2-4 pages/day. If it’s difficult for you to not finish a story, I don’t recommend this app. I actually don’t recommend it at all. They continue to add “chapters” so you have to continue unlocking to finish. Try any other story app instead of this one. Most of the stories on here I’ve actually found on other apps. This entire app seems like a scam.

The cost is simply outrageous. Instead of paying a regular price for each book, you purchase pearls and it costs about 30+ pearls to read 8 to 10 pages. I wasn't a quarter of the way through the book and realized I had already paid $50. I looked at the number of chapters remaining and calculated it would cost over $200 to finish. What??? A movie collection, an entire encyclopedia set does not cost this much. They should realize instead of masterminding a few people into paying $100s of dollars is not as lucrative as having 1000s of people pay a decent price. But apparently there are people paying because cost is their number one complaint and they have yet to respond in a positive way. It's a shame what they are doing

I used to really love this app but now I can’t even watch videos to get extra pearls which are free. I’m writing a review on here. Hopefully I will get an answer but from what I see reading other reviews if it’s not a good review, the people do not answer you I would like to be able to watch videos to get the free pearls, but they won’t load.I’ve reached out several times to the developer to get an answer for this or get the issue fixed, and I’ve gotten a few replies, but they do not directly answer my questions. They tell me that the service provider for this region is over the ads and they can’t control that. Could somebody please fix my issues so that I can watch Sis otherwise I’m gonna delete this app.

Mostly trash writing. Another reading app scam where you need to watch ads, comment on social media etc to unlock chapters, but always run out of free options and have to buy more tokens to unlock chapters. (Which are crazy overpriced. You would have to spend more than 50$ for one story that might not even be finished) Also the amount of tokens per chapter is inconsistent and random. Two stars for being less frustrating and having better app functionality than the last reading app scam that suckered me. Also I'm suspicious that one of the hidden ways to earn more tokens to unlock chapters is by writing positive app reviews.

It’s obvious these “books” are translated from people who are not English-native. The grammar, punctuation, and basic writing mistakes are atrocious, to the point that it’s hard to read or understand. I’m not being picky here either, I mean like misspelling and mixing up main character names multiple times. Most of the stories are absolutely ridiculous and sound like they were written by a teenager. There is no way there’s an actual editing process before posting, and the “chapters” are really just pages. The best book on there is A Touch of Sweetness and even it is a little ridiculous because the writing is way too formal for a novel. I wish it would go on Radish - it’s a way better app.

Too many hoops to jump through to get coins/pearls when you don’t want to buy them. Which makes the books ridiculously expensive if you do buy them. I’ve been using Galatea. They offer a year subscription. You don’t need coins and you get unlimited access to all their books. Maybe Joyread should think about that. Update 6/10: They keep screwing you over when you try to watch their ads and the page won’t load. Also, what’s with the Ads task list!!! You have to go through a list of ads (anywhere from 3-6 ads) instead of one ad at a time. Then the last one on the list doesn’t load so you’ve wasted all that time watching the other ads and get nothing. 😡

Sure the app is free. But you have to pay per chapter and some are over 100 chapters, resulting in prices way over $30 for a normal book. I don’t recommend this app to any reader unless you want to waste money. It’s a scam and now when you pay for pearls to unlock chapters, they expire… bad reading app.

If I could give this app a zero star, I would. I have to admit, some of the stories are not bad, and it definitely keeps you hooked, but the chapters are very short, and each chapter costs money to read. I would not complain if it was affordable to read the entire story, but I can buy myself 5 good books with the money i spend just to make it halfway through a Joyread story. The stories on this app is definitely way too overpriced.

The ad stated that you can read the whole book for free. I got to chapter 11am now it’s asking for $ to read the next chapter!! Very, very disappointed!!!

In the middle of a light romantic novel they suddenly abhorrently kill a heroine’s horse with a huge terribly cruel scene around it. Light read turned bloody animal murder with no warning, freaked me out completely and spoiled the whole evening. Not reading any other of their novels - it’s a nightmare fuel. Contacted their customer support, was promised to be transferred “immediately” to a specialized customer service agent, after which was ignored completely. Tried contacting them 3 times, all exactly the same scenario - lied about a transfer and disappeared.

I downloaded this app and based on the representations bought an annual pass for $256 USD, on the understanding, this would allow me access to all of the products on the site for a full year. Not so. You have to have separate annual passes for full novels and for short stories.. In comparison, Kindle which has thousands more books the majority of which are our superior stories – cost $120 USD for the year, which is comparable to other sites like KOBO. Do not waste your money on an annual pass as it is not worth it.. If you’re really hooked by a story, buy coins to just read that story.. It is still a rip off, but at least it’s a far less expensive rip off.

If you don't wan to pay to read, watching ads to get pearls feels like a Part time job where you are paid pennies by the hour. At one chapter every 2 days, with the sing in pearls, I estimate that it will take me 2 years to read a book.

This app is a scam. I started reading and then had to pay for more tolens. I paid for a monthly subscription and still it asks me for more money. Scam. Book doesn’t even cost the amount I have e paid. Delete.

It is free and there are some really good stories on the app. The problem is it states to unlock a chapter watch two ads. But it does not always work nor is it always watching ads. Sometimes instead of watching ads like it says it makes you open up nine different links to articles to read and different tasks and it will never register. Where to can earn more coins by again watching ads sometimes you get to watch the ads and other times makes you do 15 different tasks that never register to open the coins.

Price per chapter increases as you go, I’m suspicious they are changing the price per chapter based on if you cave and purchase coins even once; also chapters seem to get shorter as you continue through a book. many of the books are riddled with inconsistencies, repetition and outright contradictions, meaning reading through several chapters in a row and zero plot development. Lots of the stories seem full of potential, but are seemingly unedited, like reading first drafts or rough outlines as opposed to cohesive chapters. Pricing structure seems inspired by casino psychology.

Yes i know it cost alot apparently to write a book and publish it but to rip people off and raise prices randomly and make every book harder to read because of publishers greed is purely a insult to the industry As a book reader its difficult to keep paying for this app

The stories are good and I believe the authors probably don’t get a fair share for the expense prices per chapter… if the apps say “watch” ads for points or to read then let us watch an ad. Do not have clicks ads that leave your ad and could possibly lead to sites that have viruses… not impressed about that at all. Other apps have stories just as good and the cost per character/point systems are better.

I like this app. It has good novels. It said the membership its monthly but I still have to buy coins to read the books, i thought if pay for a monthly membership I will be able to read any novels and not worry about buying coins. So I will be cancelling the subscription.

Says you can watch adds but clink it and it trys to send a list of articles instead which I have fear of virus from those kind of sights so genuinely feel lied to

The books are great but here’s the thing - since they all happen to be over 200-300 chapters, you have to purchase them. And the chapters, for no reason whatsoever, get more expensive the further on you read. You’d think, “oh, they offer monthly membership so I’ll just purchase that.” That would be utterly pointless. Because the books don’t become fully available like in some other more reasonable reading apps - no. Here, you still have to purchase the chapters to read. And trying to finish ONE book can cost upwards of $200 or more. If you buy the monthly membership, you have to WAIT until you are charged again to get a refill of coins or pearls or whatever they use to buy the chapters. So, you end up waiting a whole month before you can read maybe 20 more chapter and then you have to wait AGAIN. This app and its payment options are the very definition of ridiculous. One last thing, please note that the developers only respond to the five star reviews and ignore the rest. Either those reviews are bought or they were posted too early on in the experience. Either way, the five star reviews are sketchy and should not be trusted.

I got caught up in one of these ads. First I bought some coins, then when they ran out I purchased a subscription to unlimited reading for the month. 50 ish chapters later they’re asking me to pay again. Absurd. Why would you prey on readers! We already are paying so much and to be lied to is very frustrating.

Story was interesting and surprisingly well-written so I subscribed for a month. That was today. And I cannot read the story because the app says I have to pay to unlock the chapter when I just paid them. Looks like a scam to me. Don’t buy it. Don’t use it.

There are so many books that is not updating for more than a year and if you can’t finish the book don’t add it in the library. Have to wait for months to get the update and the. Only it will be only 2 or 3 chapters. Its ridiculous.

J’ai même acheter des perles pour lire des chapitres car j’étais ennuyé de n’avoir accès à d’autres chapitres… le coût est trop cher! Les chapitres trop courts! Je suis très déçu. Cette application n’est pas recommandée, trop d’effort pour pouvoir lire des chapitres gratuits en visionnant des publicités, chapitre trop court, coût trop cher pour avoir accès plus rapidement à des chapitres. C’est frustrant! Je recommande l’application GALATEA, prix correct pour ceux et celles qui aiment lire sans publicité, car les forfaits annuels sont raisonnables. J’ai lu plus de 40 livres avec cette application en moins de 8 mois, j’en ai pour mon argent, sans contrainte d’annonce et de temps !

This app is a money grab. Chapters are repeated throughout the story, using up your money. I would not purchase stories through this app. If I had the option of giving zero stars I would.

I like one of the book and can’t stop reading it but I paid over 100$ and still not finish! On top of it, they use to give you 10 pearls to watch a add, but they change it to 5 pearls today! On top of this, add are often more than 90 seconds each! Stop wasting your time!
