Good overall gameI’ve played over 500 games and am on the highest tier of competitive. Honestly the AI gets harder as you play, which makes sense. From some other reviews that say it’s impossible to win I humbly disagree. I’ve consistently maintained a 45% first place streak but not because of the game. I’ve gotten into losing streaks and when I did I had to create and figure out different strategies so that I could get my percentage back up. That’s what happens with any strategical game. The higher level the opponent the different strategies you use The only features that need to be added So shoot the moon is supposed to do one of two things One is allow you to remove 26 from Yourself the other is add 26 The game only supports adding which seems fine but if you have a high score to get yourself back in it tactically sometimes removing 26 is better.CeversonVersion: 1.3.3

AI strategy is not greatI’ve played hearts my whole life and consider myself a competent player but not the best. But with this game, I’m a rock star. So far, on the Competitive / Hard mode, my stats are: 1st: 77 2nd: 49 3rd: 30 4th: 14 And of those where I came in 4th, on more than a few of them I made silly mistakes because I was playing on my phone and lacked the dexterity to select the card I intended. I haven’t analyzed yet how the AI is playing, but I’m guessing that they always avoid taking tricks, even if risking one heart means taking control and avoiding future points. Likewise, I’ve never seen the AI count well enough to know that the only other spade remaining is an Ace or King so it’s safe to lead with the queen. THe only “learning” I’ve seen is that if they ‘suspect’ you may be shooting the moon, they completely withhold hearts which you can use to your advantage (which actually feels like a real player, but real players usually catch on, sometimes with body language/table talk, that the shooting plan is not going to work). I actually wish the AIs were working as a team against me because i shouldn’t be winning nearly as many games as I am..CMD of PDXVersion: 1.3.3

AI is better than bad reviews say…I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying the AI makes it imposible to win at a certain level. That’s just not true. I’ve been at the top of the “Ultimate Tier” for a few weeks - and I win about as much as I would expect to against strong human opponents. One thing I would change: get rid of the annoying secondary points/level system that is never explained nor properly incorporated into the game. All it does is waste time with annoying animations at the end of each game. Other than that - the game is great. Fun…at firstIt was fun at first, then beginning levels were easy and then got more challenging, but now that I am in Gold tier it’s impossible to win. I am forced to take the queen of spades almost every hand. The computer will play the cards in such a way that no matter what I take it. Which means I have lost about 8 games in a row (all the games since I entered gold tier). I understand it’s supposed to get harder but this should be statistically impossible to get the queen this many times. And if you start out taking 25 points you can’t restart the game. Game is ok not anything to brag aboutThe game is ok but not any different from other versions of card games. Once you’ve beaten it a few times you can actually tell how the deck is stacked against you. How the game picks one particular opponent and favors it. I mean for example out of 20 different deals I was given the 2 of clubs and the Queen of spades 16 times but the bad part was no other cards to help back them up. I did find a way to get the game back to deal with true randomness. But you have to purposely loose three games in a row and throw the computer off. Fast and funGood game play. Pretty competitive computer opponents. They could be a bit more aggressive to make it a bit harder… but maybe as i rank up that will change. Fast pace game. I can get though a whole game in less than 10 minutes. Game play is smooth and graphics are nice and clean. Would be nice to see world stats and to see how you play against others. Fun Simple Strategy and Easy to learnI am tired of games that tell such long stories they are like reading a book. This is really fun, but it can be stressful.I really enjoy playing this game. I like the emojis, and my sister and I just found out that if you tap on your profile picture (mine is a butterfly, the other players might have chicks 🐣 hatching or something else) and you can send the emojis! Lots of funI’m pretty hooked on this. Sometimes the AI opponents are pretty dumb, such as when they inexplicably lead the queen of spades when they have no chance of shooting and have lower cards in other suits. Best part is when you do shoot successfully, as first your opponents cry, then a shoot-the-moon rocket blasts off, then the 26 points worth of cards shoot out of your hand and into those of your opponents. Needs Jack of diamonds rule and shooting the moonThis is a simple hearts game. It’s polished, it works, but for advanced heart players it does not include the Jack of diamonds rule, where jacks are -11 points. It also doesn’t include “shooting the moon” where you take all the point cards and give everyone else 26 points. My friends and I would also make it harder by giving everyone else 37 points by making you have to take the Jack too. Has shoot the moonIt’s OK. Easy way to pass the time. The main problem is the same as all games with bots - they are playing as a team to beat you, not win. They will immediately block any attempt to shoot the moon the player makes, but allow the other bots to easily do so. The bots also will hold the queen for the player as opposed to another bot. I checked my wife’s statistics, she had the exact same, but her 4th places are higher than mine (I have a bit more 3rd. Good overallI enjoy playing this version of Hearts. My biggest critique is that some rules for Hearts allow for The Jack of Diamonds to be -10 points. This just adds more to the strategic methods to play. It would be nice to have the option to turn that on/off in this game. Some notesThere are some statistical abnormalities, but the game adds some enjoyment and frustration. 1. The Q spades is at least 50% of the time to your left. 2. The 2,3,4,5 of hearts is disturbed between all four players 90% of the time. If the five is the lowest heart you have, plan on taking four hearts. 3. It does appear the competitors are looking at your hand. They systematically eliminate your low card outs and leave you trapped. You can minimize this by taking the lead and eliminating you high cards without taking the Q of spades. 4. The no pass round will be your worst hand and many times leave you taking the Q spades. I have gotten the bare queen or short suited in spades with the A or K many, many times..RLFVIIVersion: 1.4.6

Fun but Obvious FlawsIt’s fun and easy to progress, but each game seems to have the same rhythm. You start off good, then have a string of bad hands until you catch up to your opponents (and sometimes surpass them) only to finish strong in first or second place the majority of the time. The players ahead of you keep getting additional points when not competing. Even though I win matches I lose ground against the AI leaders. Fun, but a jokeI have have rounds where I have the queen each time at the start (through draw or pass), seems statistically unlikely. Other “players” never throw themselves under the bus to avoid a Shoot the Moon scenario. Hints recommend plays that cause point collection whereas I ignore it and end the hand with no points. In other words, hints are a poor guide. “Players” throw down cards that I can’t make sense of. Say I drop as Jack of Hearts, player drops a King of Hearts and collects four points. In the next hand, on all hearts, the same player drops a 10 of Hearts. Now, maybe the “player” wants to collect in order to control the next toss/hand, but that just doesn’t make sense that I can determine. So, on the computer player aspect, meh..MagsoxVersion: 1.3.3

Too stupid to play fairThis is my 4th review. They delete reviews not favorable. While the layout is very nice, it’s ruined by the cheating. I’ve played thousands of games and the cheats repeat themselves every game. It is gratifying to beat cheaters so that’s why I play. Here are some examples: All deals are skewed to disadvantage the live player. I get the 2 of clubs 90% of the time. I never get the jack of spades, it’s always on my right. I have never had a hand without at least two high spades, tens of thousands of hands, the odds are improbable. One bot is always the loser, he takes points for the winner. This is seen by incredibly numb moves, taking unnecessary points so the designated winning bot has a chance. The winning bot should play the lottery, never has high spades but does have several low spades, every hand. They gang up on you. No effort is made to set the other bots. No effort is made to stop them from shooting the moon. All efforts are towards the live player. This is not realistic play, ganging up on one player would never fly in real life. It’s truly amazing how much disregard they have for the customer, it must be easier to cheat and ignore the customer rather than hire intelligent programmers with ethics. There is no progressively harder play, just more flagrant and infuriating levels of cheating. It really should be embarrassing to put a game out like this with no effort to be fair. Beating them, despite the flagrant cheating, is very gratifying..SailorcrewVersion: 1.4.6

AI is horrible…I’ve played this and the spades game by the same company. There is no strategy that can be applied to defeat an AI that’s always set up to give you the Queen no matter what- I’ve hand hands with the lowest sets of numbers, hands without any spades, and yet somehow the Queen is ALWAYS with the left player. You will automatically be assigned the highest and lowest sets of cards in a suit to ensure that there’s no middle ground or way of strategizing how to avoid the Queen. It’ll get to the point where you can look at your hand and predict you’ll end up with the Queen, somehow. I had an entire round where EVERY. SINGLE. HAND. resulted in me ending up with the Queen. And the higher you go in rank, the worse it gets, because the bots are preprogrammed to ensure that the closer you get to completing a rank, the more games you’ll end placing last. That is highly irritating and frustrating, by the way. Wish this game involved actual strategy instead of being so bad that you know you’re always going to be slammed with the Queen, somehow..NeellixxVersion: 1.3.3

Not as bad as their spades gameThe good news is that Hearts isn’t as bad as their Spades game—which I deleted because the bot is so incredibly bad. For the second time (I’ve noticed) the game miscalculated our scores. This is simply unacceptable. Both times, one of the bots took 13 hearts and the other took the Q of spades but three of us were given 26 points. This developer doesn’t deserve to be supported for this sloppy work. For hearts: rules to live by 1) 95% of the time, the Q of spades is held by the player to your left. 2) If you have done very well on the first 3 games, you will end up with the queen on the 4th game—it is usually played off-suit. So think unconventionally for that hand. The developer says the hands are random but there are definitely rules behind the “random” hand like short suit the bot then create a random hand with the rest of the cards..KayArrasVersion: 1.3.3

EhFirst of all, it’s missing some actual rules to the actual hearts game. Specifically the shoot thr moon part. Second of all, allllllllllll the sudden I’ll go 10 straight matches with getting the queen of Spades. It’s pretty obvious that the game is set up to make sure you cannot go too many rounds without actually winning out. All while I’ll watch other players win out entire matches. The more you play the crazier the algorithm getsI'm at the Grand Master level (The Ultimate tear, apparently). What's happening at every round is statistically impossible. Every game has 2-5 shoot the moons, all 3 opponents play in unison against you and there's no strategy. You do get to finish 2nd occasionally and 3rd and last more frequently, and first once in a while. However, even when you win, you feel like you were let to win by the other three with not much tactic from your end. It's become very predictable as well. Based on what cards I open with and what I'm given by others, I can guess with a pretty good certainty how it'll end. It was fun at the beginning, but not any more. RiggedAfter playing a while it is clear that the deck it’s stacked and it is a rigged game. Example: almost anytime I start a round playing the 7 or 5 of clubs and the queen of spades has not been played, it gets played on me. It has happened way too many times on those particular cards for it not to be a coincidence. Also, based on the way the deck is shuffled and played and pretty sure all three other players are playing out of the same hand at times. Not all the time mind you, but at times. Once you move up the leader board this becomes obvious. The first game you play in 24 hours you have a pretty good chance of coming in 1st or 2nd place. After that, you will constantly get the queen of spades played against you and you cannot avoid it. Also, that is when you will notice cards you passed in one direction will suddenly be in another player’s hand. Oh well, it was fun until the cheating became really obvious. AI is not smart so the game is not enjoyabbleI set the hard mode and play the competitive games still AI opponents are not smart. It is like playing with little kids who don't understand the rules. I played hundreds of games and was never the last. I got the first place in more than 50% of the games. I should be placed the last in about 25% of the games, and the first in 25%. Many times I see AI make stupid mistakes, like not getting rid of Q-spades when it gets a chance. I wish there was a way to set AI to be better. Terrible at higher levelsThe algorithm that randomizes the cards is absolutely AWFUL as you progress. Not even close to real world. It varies the difficulty by just repeatedly dealing bad hands and stacking the other computer players so that you are forced to take the Queen or have an excessive amount of face cards or face and middle cards. Whatever computer opponents is the “good” one always has an unrealistically low hand for every hand in a round. The game just had one computer player shoot the moon twice in a row and another one round later in the same game. Simply NOT realistic at all and NOT enjoyable..JayG2Version: 1.3.3

Game CheatsMaybe I’m reading this wrong but it seems to me that when I’m given the Queen of spades the computer players like to run spades as soon as possible however, when I pass the Queen off they seem to play off on a suite other than spades and I end up with the Queen. No consistency with trying to get the Queen out unless I have it or I have high cards in another suite which then gets played. I don’t mind losing but when I feel setup more than not it’s not worth playing. I’ll try another author’s game to see if they can create a game that plays fairly..Garbage GPSVersion: 1.3.3

Annoying!!!!So many times you will accidentally play a card. It’s very frustrating. The game should have a more distinct gesture for playing a card. It is far too easy to accidentally tap the wrong card. Also it’s obviously rigged. The player to your left will always keep the QH all other players will always pass the player to your left or you the QH. All players play as if they can see all of the hands and are a team against you. Sure this increases how challenging it is as you level up, but it is not realistic..OqionVersion: 1.3.3

Rigged the more you playI’m playing as an experiment. At Bronze 1 level, here’s a typical game for me: perfect round, perfect round, perfect round, 2 points, perfect round, 20 points, 15 points, 17 points, perfect round, perfect round, 18 points, 20 points, 15 points and I lose. Ending up with the Queen of spades multiple times in a row just because I was audacious enough to play a 3 of clubs is not random behavior. Also, if a computer player is going for shoot the moon, you have to stop it. The other computer players will not..NeuredVersion: 1.3.3

The bots work together against you, not fun to playThe game isn’t fun to play once you reach Silver tier. I’m currently on Platinum II. The game deals you bad hands often, all the bots seemingly work together against you which makes the game feel unfair. Examples: when you have the Queen of Spades, all the bots throw out spades on new turns to force you to throw out your QoS. Another example is the bot that comes after your turn tends to have the Queen of Spades waiting just for you. You’re not playing against actual people (it would be cool if you could), but it shouldn’t feel like each bot are working together against you. It should feel like each bot are working for themselves. There should be increasing difficulties, but it should be balanced to make the game fun, not stressful, and it should feel fair..DayumQuitPlayinVersion: 1.3.3

Terrible AII play hearts on card night with friends every week. I’m a solid hearts player. No strategies can work in this game when all 3 opponents are working against you every hand. Even if you are 20 points higher than everyone else they will hold the queen of spades until they can dump it on you. FatalThis is a very fun game until it’s not. There’s no difficulty setting, you just climb the ranks every time you play. Climb quickly when you win and slowly when you don’t, but always climbing. So you will hit a wall eventually. Eventually you’ll see shot the moons multiple times a game. Computer opponents won’t stop each other but they sure will stop you. Just give us a difficulty setting and you can have 5 stars. Until then it’s a 1..NwmacVersion: 1.3.3

Blatantly riggedIt’s not rigged in that you always lose, but somehow it’s so easy for the computers to “shoot the moon” (which i’ve never heard of this dumb term being used before) but as soon as you try to, suddenly the computers know exactly what you’re doing and you can’t. also how likely is it that the other three computers suddenly all have cards lower than you in order, for example the other three players have a three, four, and a five and then even with a six you have to take all the hearts. i get this happening once in a while but it happens way too often for this to be chance..Sj..Version: 1.3.3
