GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE Positive Reviews
Best game everSo honestly been playing the game since it first released. It is by far one of the most fun and addicting games I’ve played in a while. The graphics are amazing, the storyline is so captivating that it keeps you on your toes wanting to see what happens next. The side quests are funny. The events that the developers have released are intense with suspense of what will happen next. Stories that connect every NIKKE without fully revealing the story. The character design is on peak and the available costumes are amazing. Being able to interact with the NIKKEs is very intriguing and definitely seeing their individual story as you progress your intimacy level is fun also. I would recommend to the developers to add Marians OG costume as an option hopefully in the future. I honestly cannot wait for this upcoming year. The winter event is captivating as it is and I honestly recommend this game to anyone who wants to experience the fun and dynamic gameplay. Not only beautiful NIKKEs to be able to collect and take command in the field but also the amazing graphics, the storyline which just captivates you from the very beginning and even customizable main menu with different in-game music and backgrounds just gives the player more control. Truly an amazing game. And to top it off it is also available to play on laptops! (Not Macs unfortunately) I do own a Mac so I hope the developers are able to make it available there too!.Version: 114.10 (9)
More than just a waifu gachaI’m gonna be honest, this game is NOT what it looks like at first glance. One might expect copious amounts of fan service, some rudimentary story mode or daily challenges, and a heavy emphasis on getting the player to spend money. Nikke does the first one admittedly, but the rest completely outshines anything on the market. Each Nikke has their own personality and story, feeling unique but believable, like they could be real people with real lives. I’m not even done with the story and I’ve been playing for a YEAR, that’s at least an hour a day for 330-some days, skipping any breaks I might’ve taken. The breadth and depth of the story feels like something you’d find on console or PC title that costs MONEY. There’s so many little events and side modes to play, it’s pretty much impossible to find yourself bored with the game. My only comment is on the luck system with gacha pulling. It’s MERCILESS. You can save up for two premium even ten-draws and come up with nothing, it’s ruthless and my only gripe about this game, especially as a free-to-play user. Speaking of f2p, one thing that startled me about the game is its lack of ads. Not that I expected any, but a game this fleshed-out and, well, just GOOD, seems too good to make its money back through gacha and IAP alone, so I’m surprised there’s no ads hidden somewhere. In the end, good stuff, I’d definitely recommend you download..Version: 125.8(15)
Favorite GameDear Level Infinite/Shift Up, or any developer seeing this. This has been my favorite game to play over the past year and it has amazed me how much this game has come since. I still remember my first day playing and how heartbreaking it was watching Marian die. I’ve only ever had one issue with this game, and that’s my gacha luck, I almost never get legendaries and missed out on A2 from the NieR crossover because it took 50 draws just to get 2B. I’ve also have only gotten Modernia once out of 2,600 draws, with over 100 on her banners total. My commander name is SHARKY and have been here since day 1. I never even thought of getting the game until my mind switched one day and was like why not pre-order it since this was when it was advertised everywhere before release. Even though I’m only on chapter 20, or so just about to start it, I still love how the main story is revolved around Marian/Modernia since the events of Marian drove the commander to defend Nikkes. It would be fun to see on either the 1.5 year anniversary or 2 year anniversary, another costume poll with “Marian” as the costume for “Modernia.” I’ve also have been collecting relics in real life to represent Marian since she is my favorite character in the game even though she was only alive for 2 chapters. Keep up the good work development team, and I can’t wait to see how the game turns out in the future! 😊.Version: 115.6 (8)
Edited after update, typical Chinese grinding gameEdit: the update change to the side story is crap, getting 10 shards when you need 3k is just a slap to the first at least with the tickets you can raise your affection level with your nikke. Also why are rares and srs included in the ssr shards, they shouldn’t even be included since those are limited and hard to farm. The same goes for sr having rares since there only 5 and unlike other games where you can use rares you can’t here because of the lvl limits of the characters. The company exclusive shards should only have ssr since those are limited and should at least reward the player with a guaranteed ssr from that company. You can tell you playing a game run by a Chinese company when the grind is long and the rewards for side quest are bad. The game is a fun shooter but the wall that you hit is very fast, in which you can’t progress and have to wait a few days to get your battle power up. It’s like every anime idle game with the censored fan service that the global gets. The premium currency isn’t worth buying unless you want to max your characters stars to get mac stats. Many things don’t have a skip button like the stimulation room when it is titled hard but your battle power is like 30k above the required and you still have to sit through the fight. The overprice costumes would put sega to shame since $20 for a skin is way too much I rather they pull a sega and put all the outfits into one gacha pull for many outfits like pso2. Overall it’s a decent time killer but I don’t recommend wasting money on the currency since you can get enough pulls with time..Version: 103.8(7)
Okay, what!?I don’t usually write reviews but I figured this game deserves it. At first I wasn’t really interested in this game as it didn’t look like it would appeal to me, I don’t think I need to explain why. However after getting ad after ad about the game I figured I’d give it a shot. At first I really didn’t enjoy it, the combat is fun and unique, but the character design just really isn’t my thing. BUT after a couple of chapter the game REALLY takes off, some of these boss fights are absolutely insane, and the MUSIC the music is TOP NOTCH. There’s this one level where you’ve been tracking through the snow for hours to find this big snow base, BUT THEN the snow base turns into an enormous enemy, and this freaking sick boss music starts playing to the rhythm of the phase of the boss. Honestly when this game wants to go hard, it goes hard. I just wish it didn’t constantly throw scantly dressed women in your face, and offered characters that can appeal to a wider variety of players. If this game did that, I feel like it would completely destroy the top charts. Nonetheless, so far this game has created some of the most memorable moments in mobile games for me, and I’m completely shocked that the combat is as smooth and fun as it is. Would highly recommend, even if I’m not a fan of the characters. Though, the enemy character design is top notch..Version: 110.8 (14)
I’m gonna be completely fairThis is only my opinion but I myself like the game a lot it’s fun addictive and the co-op event it’s very fun but…. There are things that I like to consider like a really want to try to spend a little bit of money on some stuff but since I’m still new to the game I rather wait and learn on what’s worth spending setting that a side my issue are as follows: constantly crashing and I’m not saying 1 or 2 times I rather happens A LOT which is really frustrating it doesn’t matter what you are doing it will crash and it tends to be every 30 minutes or every time you do 2 different things idk how to explain really but it’s constantly crashing, the power wall aka the grind I’m having a tuff time to get pass certain levels and while yes it’s still possible you get a damage de buff which it’s noticeable when you are in between 500 to 200 off the required damage, look don’t get me wrong the game is fun and all but if not fix properly like the crashing thing at least you are gonna lose most of your player base and it happens you know now days with triple A games so I hope in a near future it gets patch and valance so we can properly enjoy the story which is what attracted me the most but that’s only my opinion and only what I think should get fix….Version: 107.4(9)
Constant disconnects led to wiped account!I was constantly getting disconnected from the game with multiple different errors after completing a few campaign battles. But the last error said unexpected failure and now when I log in I am starting over from the beginning tutorial… even though I linked my account and it shows my account logged into the right region. Update 2/1/23. Game is definitely more playable so updated starts from 1 to 3. However, I am still getting disconnected at least twice a day when completing dailies, across all of the devices I play on. Once a week or so I am also getting the failed to sync battle data error. Also, not sure why even when I check the box to not display the notice when logging in the rest of the day, it still pops up every time… The idle time of 12 hours max for resources in the outpost defense also doesn’t help the situation, if I log in once a day I’m missing out on half a day or more of resources because the outpost is full… With these issues and the fact that I am starting to hit the wall between 140 and 160 progress has slowed immensely. I will start logging in less which usually leads to a steady decline in satisfaction in the game until I stop playing completely. I imagine many other players have/ are in the middle of/ or quickly approaching the same point in the game. Hopefully the developers change up something, otherwise I see the game loosing traction quickly..Version: 103.8(7)
Unrewarding GameplayPersonally I really enjoy the setting and theme of Nikke. I want to know what happens in the story and looked forward to each story driven mission. However, unlike Destiny Child, you either need to invest an unrealistic (months on top of months of boring dailies) amount of time as a F2P player or invest an unrealistic amount of money; just to progress the campaign. Recruitment currency gains are terribly low unless you are buying them. Even if you do, this doesn’t guarantee success. Clear Data is a nice touch to see comps, however when using the same comp at a higher power level I was still running out of time or having Nikkes getting one-shot. Most of my Nikkes were the same power level individually, or higher. It doesn’t help that some of the raptures required to progress the stage would bug out (i assume) by hiding behind terrain and none of my Nikkes would fire, even manually. I would have to restart the stage. Ultimately, I don’t play games to be forced into a wall. I am looking to have a fun experience. This is not fun, to me. This is pay to have fun (this is also questionable). If the gameplay was the priority, the money would follow without feeling like a necessity. I will check back in a few months, i still feel like there is a lot of potential here..Version: 104.6(2)
Not what it looks like, seriously! As much as it might seem like a fanservice game (which, it is), NIKKE truly goes above and beyond for a mobile RPG. The characters are all developed in an intense and incredibly interesting story, with beautiful animation and art. The gameplay is fun and easy to understand for beginners, and gets difficult enough for seasoned players to enjoy without getting bored. The bosses are HARD, and that’s an understatement. The game is so rewarding to level up in and it’s extremely fulfilling to finally beat that stage you’ve been trying to beat for ages. Every single event has great story, gameplay, minigames, you name it, NIKKE has it! Alongside all this, the gacha is some of the best i’ve seen. It’s extremely easy to get diamonds without paying, and the pull rates are pretty good! Even after that, you don’t necessarily have to have the best characters to succeed. You can build and work with whatever characters you want, and as long as you put in the effort, you’ll be rewarded! The only thing I lament about is the costume gacha, which is incredibly expensive for what it’s providing, but then again, it’s purely cosmetic and doesn’t provide in-game benefits, so I can’t be too mad. Overall, NIKKE is one of the best mobile RPGs out there!.Version: 139.8(13)
Been playing since launch.Nikke is when you combine Time Crisis, Terminators, and Gacha. It definitely rewards you more than most Gacha’s too for dailies and weeklies honestly, but there is genuinely a lot to do when you are farther in. It is definitely a “fan service” game, but the story, lore, characters, and game play are all worth it themselves. If you aren’t the type for repetitive “dailies” and stuff, it’s probably not meant for you for the long run, but the beginning is just so easy and fun to experience with multiple different bosses, you just gotta at least try it to experience it. Though being new means you won’t be strong enough to do the new event all the way through every 2-4 weeks. The developers really listen to the community too. We have votes for concept art of skins to release new designs, they give out surveys quite often enough to listen to willing participants to fill it out, and they release video online with similar “VTuber” models for the voice actors to announce fun animated events online while giving out free paid rewards. The game is extremely fun if your willing to dedicate yourself to this gacha and the characters all have their fun quirks and personalities that make them feel really original..Version: 122.8(20)
Perfect way to subvert expectations and Launch a F2P game rightI will say, the marketing of this game is PERFECT for subverting expectations. In my honest opinion I thought this would be a game where it’s all comedy and hard strange lore. However passing the intro, it felt like if Azur Lane was more story streamlined as well as taking Girls FrontLines gritty atmosphere, then making them have a child, NIKKE is that exact child! There are however some slice of life things that can be improved (Ex. The jukebox in the office not being changed even if u want it to be changed, the mission indicator box being a bit too small Imo, and the ability to mass spam the girls on the regular screen out of the Outpost and their voice being played infinitely if you tap on them a lot, it would also be kinda cool if like Azur lane where if you tap on a certain part of your secretary’s character they react differently.) but overall, this is the perfect way to launch a F2P Game and keeping the paid content only to cosmetics is key as well as interestingly making the grinding portion of the game the main focus to get new characters as well as stock up on future events. Imo 5/5 and there is limitless potential for this to have more side stories and events later down the line.Version: 101.6 (44)
Huge Potential But Needs Serious BalancingLike I said, this game is awesome! Through its artwork and action, the game is phenomenal! The story is fantastic and there is already a lot of content provided in the game since it’s release. I would rate it 10 stars just from that. However, the game needs to be balanced hardcore. I understand that the game leans towards afk, just get rewards after some time being gone. But in that case, it’s not too friendly towards f2play and as of now, the game is pretty heavily geared towards p2play. As a paid player myself, I’ve spent at least 400 already and is the reason I’m writing this review. I figured if I pay I may keep up with top ranked players, but oh no, I am way wrong. Those players would have to be spending at least over 1000 often to get multiple of the best units. I know it’s a risk, but heck, with the rates, luck doesn’t cut it. As of the money I spent, there needs to be some sort of reward system in place so when people like me drop a bunch of money but don’t get lucky, there can still be rewards that will make up for it. So for all you readers, don’t drop a single penny on the game until it’s more balanced out or else you’ll regret it. Other than my rant, keep up with the updates and try to make the game more balanced out in some way. It’s a fantastic game!.Version: 102.6 (1)
Good game but continues to be plagued with poor optimizationI’ve been playing this since the first summer event and I can confidently say I’ve never had a game freeze this much on iPhone. I use iPhone 13 with current iOS and have just watched the game become more and more literally unplayable. I will go to “1 frame per sometimes” before the game locks up entirely but doesn’t crash and needs to manually be restarted. I’ve done fresh installs, clearing cache, repairing resources, and nothing changes, even if I close all other applications to make sure it has the phone all to itself. Even on good days it’s plagued with lag or slowdown and my phone gets really hot. Load times were at one point improved but have once again dipped into unsatisfactory levels, and download times for new content is also quite long sometimes. Worse still, changing graphics settings require the entire game to be redownloaded from scratch which makes searching for an acceptable compromise of graphics and being able to play the game take roughly 10 minutes per graphics toggle. They have ~monthly surveys that you can take for in-game currency so they’re certainly aware of mobile’s struggles trying to to play their game an yet either they don’t care or are too inept to fix it. With that said the game itself is good but they seem to think this mobile game is meant to be played on a PC when this is a game people log in to do their dailies on the toilet and that it can compete with other PC games in my library. I highly doubt they’ll ever fix the optimization issues at this rate considering stability has been decaying since about the first anniversary update and that was almost two years ago at this point..Version: 145.10(4)
Ultimate GatchaI have played a lot of gatcha type games over the years. I don’t know how this flew under my radar for so long, but it is in my opinion the finest of the genre. I always enjoyed the luck based pull and collect gimmick, but always found myself skipping the storyline after the first season in other games. They just aren’t well written-even ones that should be (I’m looking at you Square!) NIKKE is the complete opposite though. You actually come to care about the characters, who are for the most part unique and likable. There is an arguably overwhelming amount of story content to catch up with, but I’m looking forward to eventually working through it all. The translation and voice work is on point, and writing is witty and/or dramatic depending on the moment. The graphics are beautiful and yes, I’m here for the fan service. Character designs are the best I’ve seen anywhere and there is a huge pool of units to collect. The battles are simple, but actually fun, with the ability to take manual control at any time. I typically get bored with a game after about 2-3 years and find another, but I see myself sticking with this one potentially far longer. Highly recommended!.Version: 146.6(9)
Well done and smoothI play a few games regularly and an admittedly F2P player. I wasn’t looking for a shooter but decided to give this one a chance. I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised at how smooth and well done this game is. There is a lot to the game play and the ability to jump into the middle of the fight or let the game do its thing is extremely intuitive. I like games that allow me as a F2P player to get the resources needed to advance as far as the P2P players and I fully accept that it will take me longer to do so and I might miss out on a few extra “draws” on a particular character. I am very happy with the pace of the game also, and never really felt stuck or held back by a pay wall. As for the characters of the game I am also pleasantly surprised at their variety of shapes and personalities and the game company does a good job of integrating those personalities into the storyline. The voice acting is well done also and if you’ve spent anytime playing games you will recognize the voice actors and know your getting quality acting from them. All in all a very well done and respectable effort put forward. Definitely a game worth considering..Version: 102.6 (1)
Trash pull ratesI wish I could use the proper words to describe how I’m truly feeling right now because I’m utterly disgusted with this game. Started playing when 2B came out and played for awhile after until my account was just lost to the void I guess so I stopped playing for awhile. Got it back and have been playing consistently ever since but it’s just been a waste of time. With this stellar blade event I had saved up some gems and event vouchers. Used half of them and pulled 40 to try and get Eve. Got 0 SSR’s. Out of the 40 I got 25 R’s and 15 SR’s. Doesn’t help that a friend I got into this game and has only been playing for a few months was able to get Eve twice on her first 20 pulls as well as multiple other SSR’s. After that I just decided I’d ride out this event and see what happens if I get nothing I’ll move onto something else. Kinda glad they screwed me like this though since I was about to spend money for this event but now I can save it and use it on a game that’ll treat me better. To anyone that may read this if you decide to play this game you’ll either have insane luck on your pulls and get whatever you want or have completely garbage luck and will never get any of the characters you’d like or need. Unfortunately I’m the latter that’s why I’ll soon be done with this grimy game.Version: 134.8(13)
Has potential but is a broken and greedy messCan complain about the actual gameplay much - when they're working. I do enjoy Nikke, and I hope much of the gameplay issues and publisher drama gets resolved soon, but as for how it currently stands, Nikke is on the path to a quick death after milking whales the first month. There are so many flaws in the way this game performs (skill levels should be fixed by Dec 8th patch, but currently every character's special move is stuck at level 1 effectiveness), so many things wrong with the scaling of rewards, so many things wrong with how community servers are handling freedom of opinion. I actively recommend staying away from this game for now. Maybe it'll turn out better like how Destiny Child has after being freed from the original publisher, but this game's reputation is in freefall as of now. Update: Dec 8th update led to game breaking bugs, though have to credit the devs that they fixed the bugs they intended to fix.... But now a week later things have smoothened out and the game is now in a more playable state than in launch. There still are several bugged characters that require attention, but I think this game still has a chance of recovering from a terrible launch. Here's to hoping the massive launch earnings are put to good use..Version: 102.6 (1)
Something to be desiredTLDR: it feels like the game is still in CBT. I have been playing this game since it’s CBT phase and I will say that frankly, I’m a little disappointed. The gameplay is fairly unique in terms of combat and the story itself is quite interesting as well. However, it does have a few flaws that I wish had been fixed during or after the CBT. First and foremost, weapon elements. Every character in the game has an element attached to them and the game does feature a rock-paper-scissors style counter wheel. However, the different in damage between using an advantageous element versus some other element isn’t really noticeable. I often forget the element damage even exists due to how little impact it seems to have. Classes also don’t really bring much diverse necessity aside from being able to use more equipment since each of the 3 classes use different armor. What all this boils down to is that, while it claims to be a strategy game, at the end of the day you just run the biggest dps you can find to have the easiest time clearing a stage. Not much strategy involved. And since you can auto run you don’t even have to be able to aim well either. And that’s not even all the issues I’ve had so far. Moving into less opinionated issues, I have experienced numerous and constant crashing since the game’s official launch. I typically play for about 3-4 hours daily and I have had the game crash at least once every single day I’ve played so far. That’s ridiculous. On top of that, there are a couple features that are bugged and say I haven’t collected or viewed something but when I go to collect or view it I get an error saying that I HAVE collected or viewed it already..Version: 101.6 (44)
I love the potential that this game has, but…I have to start by saying that I love playing NIKKE. I love the characters, I love the story, and the gameplay is fun when it’s actually working. The writing and voice acting is top notch, and I’m beyond invested in the major storyline! However, this game has several issues that have been raised on multiple occasions that seem to have not been taken seriously by the devs. The never ending supply of bugs is infuriating at best; as soon as 3 are fixed, there are 10 new ones. Within the past week I’ve experienced everything from boss fights crashing mid battle, cut scenes freezing, long load times on menus, audio bugs between scenes, to the messaging system so bugged that every side mission message is marked as unread even though they’ve been completed. The company is not transparent about the abysmal SSR drop rates, and the amount of gems that have to be spent to get a singular 5* is insanity. This game isn’t f2p friendly, nor is it p2w friendly! The cash shop actually declines in value as the cost goes up, leaving options extremely limited and resulting in huge power gaps. Not to mention that the amount of 5* units that are completely useless in the current meta is unreal. Leveling up skills is insanely expensive and absolutely useless, and if you’re even slightly under power level required for a fight you lose a dramatic amount of damage. All this would be saveable if the game wasn’t so locked by huge gaps in being able to level up units; paid or not. If it was worth spending money on the game, I would! I play several gachas and am not afraid to spend money to advance, but the constant power walls in this game make it fruitless..Version: 110.8 (14)
Really good game but crashes too oftenI just started playing this game a week ago, and it really surprised me. It wasn’t like the other RPG games that I played before. The storyline is actually really intriguing and the characters themselves each have unique storylines as well. It’s overall, a really good game. The only problem that I have with this game is how much it crashes. It crashes like every 5 minutes now! Before the February 1 maintenance, it would crash every 15 to 20 minutes, but now, you can’t even fight 3 monsters without the game crashing. Not to mention, you could spend credits on a recruit, and when the game crashes, you would lose not only your credits, but also the NIKKE that was promised! I know that you game developers are trying to keep us interested in the game, and you don’t have time to read comments like these, but if you fixed this tiny bug, it could really help this game a lot, it could even give that tiny push to people to spend money on this game as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this review, and I really hope you fix the game crashing problem, it will really benefit you and the players as well. I don’t know if this matters but I’m on the NA server..Version: 103.8(7)
Fantastic game that has few flawsNot gonna lie, when a friend asked me to play this with he and his girlfriend I was skeptical at first. I thought it might be eye candy anime babes with shallow, vapid gameplay. Thankfully I was wrong. Gameplay is solid and rewards aren’t crazy hard to earn. But like anything else, it needs a few tweaks here and there. First, the Situation room being as important as it is, needs to be streamlined. It’s too important to ignore, but takes too much time during the day. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to put it on auto battle and fly through it, especially when your power level is more than 15k above the enemy. Also, it would be great to have more multiplayer events, especially those that can be done with alliance members. That’s it though. There’s not much to complain about. Thankfully the makers of the game are very involved with tweaks and fixes, so even if you spend money on the game (I sure do lol) you don’t feel that you’re throwing it away. And you don’t HAVE TO if you don’t want. There’s still plenty to earn and play. Great game. Download it and give it a shot..Version: 102.4(16)
More than just FanserviceI think a lot of people initially came in for the fanservice and the “physics”, but ended up staying for the gameplay and story. I’m not typically a gacha game player but NIKKE has been the exception for me. So much so I’ve been logging in to do dailies and whatnot for over a year straight. I was there on launch. I think the music, lore, characters, and the story are underrated considering this is a mobile game. I hope one day there could be a spin-off or something that’s an actual game sort of like how Granblue has a fighting game and then Relink an action rpg coming out soon. NIKKE’s base lore and dystopian setting would make for a great standalone game if the creators/devs got the opportunity to do so. Also forgot to mention but I have not spent a dime on this. I was once tempted at the beginning but have stayed tried in true being a free-to-play player and have enjoyed my experience. This is the only mobile game I play too. There’s enough resources from dailies and weeklies if you’re smart about pulling and etc you can enjoy this as a waifu collecting game. Lastly the seasonal/new banner events are pretty good too. Would recommend..Version: 114.12(6)
Loved it!I started playing the game just a few days ago and I’ve enjoyed it tremendously. I find the story engaging, the nikkes personalities to be dynamic and everything from gameplay to voiceovers and graphics to be top quality. I love to try out new games and this app is one of the most pleasureable experiences in a long time. I believe this is rather f2p friendly so far but it engages the audience to want to dish out more money because of the relatively obtainable ssr rates compared to mainstream games like genshin impact. I can’t wait to find out what endgame has in store. The only thing I feel is missing, however, is that I find it’s a bit hard to grind for some level up materials. It’s likely because I’m still early in the game but I’m mostly relying on the synchronizing device. My highest level character is around 60 but I’m still having a hard time leveling everyone else up enough to be around the same (lvl 51 is the average). My gear and skills is fine but obtaining tier 3 and above I would have to either do dailies such as interception or clear storylines. All in all I genuinely love this game and I hope more like it come out!.Version: 101.6 (44)
Top Tier GameNikke is a masterpiece. Yes, there are pretty waifus. Yes, there are jiggle physics and busts galore (*screams in bisexual woman* <3) The art is GORGEOUS. But I quickly found myself looking beyond that, and saw the game for what it truly is. The story is compelling, and I thoroughly enjoy reading through it. The characters are charming, witty and the humor is great. Overall, they’re not bland– far from it, actually. All of the characters in the story are amazing, and it’s hard not to get attached to any of them. The gameplay loop centers around fighting robots, aka “Raptures” and when I say it’s satisfying and downright fun, I mean it. I’ve not found so much enjoyment in a gacha game before, but Nikke definitely takes the cake. I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re like me and many other people, you probably like pretty anime waifus and were maybe looking for a new gacha game and Nikke caught your eye, but you’ll find more here than you were perhaps expecting. This game is seriously incredible; a breath of fresh air for the gacha genre. Sending all the hugs to the devs. Y’all deserve it 🫶🏻.Version: 116.8.3
Solid Gameplay, decent Gacha system and lackluster performance optimization. The gameplay although really basic, sort of lends itself to actually having to think about weapon types and character utility. That would be amazing if the Gacha system had some sort of Pity System though, from what I understand you aren’t guaranteed any of the highest tier units in Summons, which isn’t ideal imo. I am free to play however some of the content in the game is super difficult for me simply because I don’t have a character that’s really good at something the few teams I have simply aren’t, or are vulnerable to because the team is really good at another thing; I have a team that has high levels of healing output but the team struggles because there isn’t enough dps or I have a team that does really good dps but there’s a lack of defense or support/healing as a result. And the game’s performance is awful honestly. I am on an XS, however I play at the lowest settings and the phone doesn’t get crazy hot actually, Genshin Impact for example actually runs cooler and more consistently at the lowest graphics settings and I feel like that shouldn’t be..Version: 112.8 (8)
Amazing gameFirst seeing the ads, I avoided this game due to thinking that it would be a fan-service only game. I eventually caved in and downloaded after seeing an interesting event that was currently happening, and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. I’ve played this game for 2 years now, completely free to play. You only have to pay money if you want to get on the leaderboard or buy exclusive skins. The character designs and distinctness of each one is amazing, and the way they interact in the story around all of the raptures and other monsters is amazing. There’s never a dull moment with the main team you’re set with, and the storyline for this game plays in with multiple different perspectives to help you understand everything better. Daily tasks are easy, leveling up is easy, there is absolutely no struggle advancing your characters. The gacha system is well-balanced and the designs for not only the Nikkes but also the monsters and other side characters never disappoint. I can honestly say that I love this game..Version: 132.10 (5)
I love this gameI been playing this game since launch.. I saw it in a comercial and thought why not, two years later im still playing, and its still going. in a Nut Shell Nikke is about you a Male Commander of a Female Cyborg group trying to defeat Giant Robots with AI called Raptures which we humans invented but turned against us and made the Surface of Earth into a Fallout type post-apocalyptic Future with the Arc and Outpost being the last Human Cities while some Humans still live in the surface. its A Scifi Action 3rd person shooter, with mini-sandbox maps. it has a main story which is deep has alot of lore , side quests, story events each month with new characters, a store to collect powerups, costumes, and loot boxes. grinding is so rewarding, and if you spend money on the game they give you bonuses on seasons, its one of the best IDEL Games that South Korea has made it has already became a house hold item with ppl cosplaying the characters, so much art being sold online, anime figures, cell phone cases, a bandai card game, and car stickers. you have to try it..Version: 118.4(17)
Instability issues and gachaI would rate this game higher, but there are issues with the game that I feel needs to be addressed. For one, the game crashes on my iphone 13 whenever I open the recruitment tab or am rolling. It could just be an optimization issue as the samsung counterpart doesn't do that, it just lags a little instead. Also, the gacha can get a bit invasive with it's low rates. The game attempts to resolve this with a wishlist that lets you get higher rates on the characters you want. However, I would often roll 20+ rolls in order to get 1 ssr. They also have shards that when you have enough, gives a chance to give you a random ssr. Those chances are not great despite the gold molds claiming a 60 percent chance of getting an ssr. Also a future problem with getting ssrs especially pilgrims is that they will only level up to 80. If you want their level to be higher, you need to get extremely lucky or spend countless dollars into rolling to get another copy to limit break them. Pilgrims are also not on the mentioned wishlist so your chances of getting the same exact one is not guaranteed. Good luck with your pulls!.Version: 101.6 (44)
One of most Fun and Better Gatcha GameGame is Fun, Lore/Story makes it even more interesting and gives close to Noir Automaton with Humanity to survive. Events that happens on a Monthly bases is pretty Fun with great New Characters and Pretty good Skins (both probably worth the money if ur looking to spend). The only problem u could face is lack of certain Resources like Rapture Cores or Money to progress anything (Specially Nikke Leveling) and after a while (depending if u have every Girls unlocked) Cores to upgrade the Nikke gets very slim and even more slim for previous Event Characters after they get added to roaster in Recruitment. Would be great if any previous Event give out one Character for finishing Normal/Hard (or Character Core if already unlocked) with the background Menu giving it worth more then just Background Menu Even with these Flaws i still give it a high score as its very fun and worth try play. They always ask for Surveys and its very great to give some sort of Feedback, this is probably one of the best Anime Games on Mobile.Version: 121.8(10)
Good game, sometimes doesn’t loadLet me start off with the positives: this game is very fun to play, and (mostly) FTP friendly. The character designs are nice, the animations are VERY impressive, and the gameplay feels well rounded and fun. It’s not like a lot of gacha games Ive played where you go AFK and watch a bunch of PNG’s fight for you. In terms of the gacha, the rates are pretty bad. But it’s a gacha game, all the rates are pretty bad. It’s nowhere near as hard to obtain good characters as games like Genshin or Arknights. However, the game as a TON of animations in it. This can be both a good and a bad thing. Playing on an iPhone, almost every time I pull in the gacha the game crashes. Every. Time. When I log beck in I still have the rewards, but it takes a way a lot of the fun and anticipation. I’m not sure why Nikke causes my phone to crash because I can run games like Genshin and Punishing Grey Raven no problem, and they all have much of the same animation quality. (Although genshins animations are more well rounded) despite this, I love this game and would give it five stars if not for the crashing issue..Version: 104.6(2)
Better than ExpectedI’m pretty impressed by the gameplay and graphics of this game, and I do enjoy the storyline as well. It looks like a lot of thought had been put into it. There is plenty to do, and keeps you busy during your off time if you have any. The Characters are pretty cute too and I love the overall design that has been given to them. However, I do think the leveling up and staring up needs to change. I’ve already stared up my rare characters and they can’t be leveled any higher and I’ve only been playing for the past few days. Which means when you summon more characters the extra of the same characters you get can no longer level up that character. It seems like a waste of time now to summon. So I think there should be more opportunity to level up the characters you like more and possible make either common or rare characters turn into super rare characters. Either than that, thoroughly enjoying the game!.Version: 109.10(2)
It’s Perfect!… Almost, anywayI will say my time with Nikke:Goddess of Victory has been nothing but a good one. I got the game initially about 3 months ago and then dropped it because of my life. I hopped back into the game 2 weeks ago as of the date of this review. During that time I’ve had 12 Nikkes hit level 100 and gotten myself into Chapter 11. The characters are amazing, the story is engaging (and sometimes out of pocket hilarious) and the F2P experience could be worse. On that note, I feel that the game’s difficulty is tuned in such a manner it makes rapid progress (or sometimes trying to hit the next story point in a chapter) nearly impossible to do in a day. Normally I wouldn’t have an issue, but with the only F2P way to acquire gems being cheaper clears and level ups, it can feel scummy when a encounter goes from your current level to 3000ish points higher. I know why it’s done, it just feels off-putting. But this is an amazing game, with some kinks ironed out it is a 5/5. But until some things are fixed, it will remain at a 4/5 for me.Version: 107.4(9)
Great story, terrible daily and frustrating battlesI don’t read the stories of these types of games…. ever… but this one got me. Great story (the exception is side quest stories, which are usually lame btw)the personalities and dialogs of the NIKKE’s are great. You as the commander have some dialog choices, but you are generally a useless wimp in the game but somehow inexplicably has the love/crush interest of most of the NIKKE’s. The combat can be absolutely frustrating… base defense in particular is junk and should be removed from the game or revamped. Also the NIKKE’s are not too smart when it comes to the combat… if you like to let the game auto play… be prepared to be frustrated over and over as the NIKKE’s appear to have no clue how to win any type of combat other than “destroy”. You will have to take over in some battles, especially boss battles. The daily “Simulation Room” is a mind numbing waste of time… I absolutely despise the Simulation Room..please get rid of this feature…. However there are drops to upgrade skills… each level is divided up to A,B,C… each of these has 5-7 battles. At level 5 of the simulation room you will need to battle 93 times!!! everyday!! Yes there are a few skips.. but not nearly enough. After each battle you will need to pick out “buffs” the buffs correspond to a shape like a circle or square and a couple other shapes … trying to remember which NIKKE each buff would benefit based on the shape is just dumb….This could definitely be done better. Also the useless combat for battles you completely dominate in, should be eliminated and streamlined. Overall a beautiful game with an amazing story, great characters, but poor and frustrating AI and overly complicated and frustrating dailies in the Simulation Room. I would suggest this game but caution you on the frustration level..Version: 105.8(21)
It Gets Worse…I’ve played as much as I can of this game as I could up to the point where I noticed how pointless the Gacha system becomes. Rates are so bad that you are better off using the Nikkes they give you. This is because levels are locked behind Ranks. Simply put, you don’t pull a dupe, the Nikke becomes useless. You are in fact more likely to pull a new SSR Nikke than one you already have which is good for people who play to collect, but god awful for people who are F2P that genuinely want to progress. It’s painful to say all of this because the gameplay and much of the story is very good. The threshold in which you start to realize this is around Level 50 which is maybe 3-4 weeks depending on how long you play everyday. By then you might have pulled roughily 20 full 10 pulls. Unfortunately if I continue playing the game any longer my rating will continue to fall as I’ve never had such bad rates in any of the hundreds of gachas I still play. So if you are looking for a good gacha don’t look for it here. If you are looking for something new, try it out. It’s a good game, but a terrible gacha..Version: 101.6 (44)
Extreme HubrisI love NIKKE which is why I am writing this review. The fact that shiftup had the ability to provide all of these QOL features and yet kept them from global and gave them to CN is disgusting. The CEO then had the audacity to make fun of the global player base for being upset - which is extremely unprofessional and gross… Then to make things even worse their response is that they’re planning on having two versions of the game…and this is supposed to placate us? The day one players? The ones that have put up with bugs, poor performance, bad roll outs, etc? This isn’t some fundamental difference in game versions…it’s quality of life improvements. This response to player anger is extremely telling and the hubris of shiftup will be their downfall. Make it right shiftup, and the players will forgive and forget. Don’t and there are plenty of other games that we can support. You’re not untouchable - we have many other great games to play. It’s that simple..Version: 133.6(12)
My Absolute FavoriteI’ve been playing Nikke since day 1, and have missed *maybe* one or two days tops over the course of this game’s history. I love the overarching story and lore, and I love collecting my cute waifus. I never run out of things to do for long, due to the way they time their events—there’s always something to keep up with and progress toward. Their free-to-play model is one of the best I’ve seen; you have to play the game to progress the game, you can’t just unlock everything with a credit card. Even with the nit-picks that some people have about the game, there has been nothing about this game that has really disappointed me. While the gameplay itself isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, that has always felt secondary to me. The world, the story, the characters, and my incessant need to collect and max out numbers are what keep me playing. Would absolutely recommend for anyone who loves visual novels and collector games..Version: 134.8(13)
Fun gameEntertaining story, good main gameplay (no chibi unlike most gacha games), characters are fun. It is gacha but you can unlock many/most characters if you save, and login often which was a first for me. Also rerunning limited collabs almost makes it possible for you to eventually get every character for free. In the beginning, there was only select useful characters, but with raids, tribe tower, arena, and Interception it brings out majority characters, making them useful and unique. I first played during the chainsaw man collab and since then the game has progressed and become significantly better. Shift up also listens to fans and made positive changes based on feedback which I appreciate. I had initially believed they would never even respond to criticism but they did and made changes to greatly improve the game. This gacha game feels high quality, stands out, and is fully enjoyable even if you don’t spent any money..Version: 139.8(13)
Now it’s a pay gameYea, got this when it first came out and loved the art, concept, and stories behind it. After about 100+ hrs in, and with recent updates, I can no longer get unique units……. Just the same 10 common ones even after using like 9k + diamonds and 50 + some recruit cards…….. yea no longer playing it. I played it to get new units once in a while, but for the past month and this update with the event, not playing it anymore since I received zero new cards. Not sorry. Gave it 2 stars as it started great and I received allot of unique units and skins, but I’m tired of the same 10 I am always getting meow. Update: Giving them 2nd chance as they responded (even though it’s a generic response). Noticed also the last several reviews have been this same issue so definitely fix the recruit %. Heck, someone spending $270 (wasn’t me) and not getting any SSR cards is an issue. Might be something with the coding of the Over Zone event update as this is when I (and it appears others) spent all the stuff. Changed to 3 stars too..Version: 106.10(3)

One problemLove the game. Love the girls and the strategies and the action. But there is one problem or is it just me. After the 3.5 anniversary update, the combat view mode is… broken? Glitched? You can’t even shoot the target, and for rocket launchers, after one shot they freeze. And when shooting another, the rocket just freezes..Version: 145.8(12)
I keep getting kicked out of the gameThe game is great and all but seriously can you fix the lagging and the kicking out issue.Version: 102.4(16)

Enjoyable game with flawsFree to play friendly, Fantastic musics, great story, good world setting and superb fan service. Shift up need to make a Illusion-style game with all those characters. On a sidenote, 30$ average skins and 60-100$ gacha skins is ridiculous!.Version: 143.10(2)
Very goodAll are and cutscenes are very well detailed! Keep it up!.Version: 143.10(2)
Like the gameLike the game art and story is amazing like the red hood story the most so far and im wondering if im ever gonna get the april fools syuen she was a really funny unit to have.Version: 141.10(4)
OkNot a bad game, however the game server breaks when you try to get on it using phone data and data share so devs pls fix this problem.Version: 142.12(2)
Depends on the rngUnlike what the other player claims, the rng isn’t necessarily bad, I’ve had plenty of ssr in very few pulls and since its so easy to get the currency (i got no clue whats its called, gems i think?), its rather quick. Though i must admet, on my other account, i got extremely unlucky and only got 2 ssr. In resume, if you’re here for a specific character, just buy an account online for like one buck instead of spending hundreds for limited stuff 🥹, its just way much easier and you end up appreciating the game more in the end, making pulls easier!.Version: 141.10(4)
Good plotCame for the plot, stayed for the plot.Version: 140.8(8)

Never judge a book by its coverIve been with Nikke since the beginning when it first launched globally a few years ago. I was super harsh on it but i still enjoyed it and I knew it had potential. Honestly its so bizarre to say it like this but I am so proud of how this game grew and grew. Its not perfect of course with minor bugs here and there. As well as some issues with pertaining with balance and progression but the people who have made this clearly put so much care and love into this. They kept learning and improving on everything, to its story, its quality of life changes, its events and its gameplay as well (which may not be perfect as of yet but its definitely a promising road). This new story and event has truly been shift-up at their best so far. I am so excited to see what Nikke has in store for its future and I hope it expands more than just a gacha. It has truly strived to become beautiful. Also Cinderella is the best..Version: 139.8(13)
