I never write reviews — so me writing this says somethingI’m not one to write reviews, so me writing this as something. I got this app a while ago, and I enjoy the stories that come out of it. And I’m sure you will too — but unless you’re willing to spend 3 to 4 minutes between chapters just watching ads to unlock the next chap, then this app ain’t for you. I originally downloaded this app because I was curious as some of the stories that I saw on the ads, and I initially really enjoyed many of the stories that I read. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up buying the AlphaNovel Plus membership at first and it was great. There is a coin system in use with the app — you use these coins to unlock chapters. But along with the coins, you simply just had to wait an hour before the next chapter was unlocked, and with the Plus you could watch 1 ad that reduced the wait time in half (so let’s say if it was an hour you’d watch the ad and it would cut the time down to 30 minutes.) BUT THEN — bruh, they completed switched it up. You know HAVE to use coins to unlock chapters and or you now have to watch three ads in order to unlock the next. Don’t get me wrong, they have ways for you to gain coins for the FREE — but it requires sharing stories with friends. It’s not as fun or exciting going into the app anymore, frankly, it’s quite daunting. I’m trying to paper through it because I have about 6-7 different stories I was reading but now I’ve given up on a lot of them because the coins required to unlock some chapters are HIGH. I hope they seriously bring back the 1 hr wait time.Jen-JVersion: 2.25.0

I’ve never been okay with watching ads before this app.It was hard to find an app that I could find truly enjoyable for not only the content but the ways to achieve the content as well. However I have had this app for about a week and it is by far the best novel app I have downloaded. All the books I have started so far have a certain number of chapters free to read before requiring coins to continue reading. BUT! There are multiple ways to get coins. There are daily gifts for reading. One gift is for how long you read. Reading for 15 minutes gives you 5 coins, 30 gives 10, 60 gives 20, and 90 minutes gives 30 coins. Another gift is simply a daily check in (day 1 starting at 5 and it continues up by 5 until day 7 which gives 50 coins!) There’s also 7 daily ads which give 5 coins per add. On top of all these daily gifts there are also “challenges”! The completion of these challenges give you a certain amount of coins. This app gives the opportunity to watch a certain amount of adds to watch in order to unlock the next chapter. If I’m okay to wait 1-3 minutes to unlock to next chapter instead of using my coins I’m more than happy to do so!! If I can't wait for the next chapter, I use my coins. Please change the reward system!!This is my second day using the app and I never left a review before but in this case, it’s different. So far, I love the book that I’m reading, it’s great and I’m hooked. But the reward system is so bad and frustrating that I cannot rate this app a 4 or 5 stars. I paid for $2.99 for 500 coins. You would think that it would be enough for at least 1/4 of the chapters…nope. By end of chapter 14 out of 300 chapters, it all ran out. I watch 7 ads so I can read more chapters but it only gave me around 30 coins and each chapter is about 60-70 coins! Also, I was only limited to watch 7 ads and had to wait 20 hours. To earn more coins, I followed you guys on Instagram and Facebook. I shared with friends. Just to get 100 coins. I honestly found it laughable on how much an app was giving me a hard time to READ! And it’s called a reward system but it feels like a punishment! Whoever created this reward system needs to find an easier way to make it affordable for people to read chapters. Not everyone has money and the least that can be done is make a reward system that actually rewards the readers in an engaging way like 7 ads is 7 FREE chapters or if you share, you get 2 free chapters. Or like WEBTOON, where you have one free chapter(also ad-free) and 3-7 chapters that you can unlock if you watch an ad. This app has potential! Clear your afternoon!I’ve had this app for about a month now and have found a few books that I have let slowly invade my life. I am not a fast reader unless I am captivated by a book. And I stopped reading YEARS ago. I couldn’t find anything that interested me. Now I spend the majority of my day reading again thanks to this very app. I never thought that I would get back into reading. The authors are all amazing minds with captivating stories that capture you from the first chapter! The editors need some help grammar and repeating sentences leave you struggling to figure out what the author is trying to say sometimes. You get a free chapter every hour until about the last 20 chapters (for most books) and that is what you save all your coins for. You get reading rewards for up to 90 minutes (read next paragraph for my only issue) and you can watch 5 ads daily to get more coins. I give this app 4 stars in hops that the creators will see this review and hear my only complaint. Why do I have to read on this app for 5 solid hours for the app to sometimes register that I have been reading for “90 minutes” so that I can get my daily reading rewards? Like today for example, I started reading at 1 am it has now been 4 hours and my app says I’ve only read for 15 minutes? Please fix this problem!.RenSageVersion: 2.11.0

Good app, but not super user friendlyIts a good app, and I’ve spent many hours reading and watching ads. Personally, I don’t mind the amount of coins you can get a day, though if you choose to spend money on a book, you’ll end up paying more than you would to buy a regular book in a store. That being said, finding a book I want to read is not easy. Once you choose a book, there’s plenty of info to decide if you want to read it in the description, but you can only sort the options by subject. I would like to only look for completed books, but instead I have to click on each one individually to find out. Lastly, I would like the ability to rate a book in the app. I’ve read stories that sound good, but the typos and continuity errors ruin the story. I also would then like the opportunity to sort the open library by rating. Some books are really good and I can’t put them down. Others don’t seem to be proofread at all, and I’d like to be able to tell without having to read multiple chapters first. I still plan to use the app, since the good ones are worth it, but it’s frustrating having to go around the same issues every other book..KaithompVersion: 2.33.0

Not as advertisedI came across this app on Facebook. It was advertised as not having to pay for books, so I downloaded it. Sure enough, after four chapters of the “hook the customer” book, it’s wanting one to buy coins to unlock chapters, and they don’t come cheap. The chapters are short, as well, making it extremely expensive to read a book. The story for the first book has promise, but it could definitely use the help of a good editor. I’m not sure the stories are worth the price they’re asking. I much prefer the Galatea app where one can unlock a chapter at no cost by waiting six hours. I don’t mind waiting six hours, and I have 20+ books going at one time, so there’s always something to read for free. Have I ever purchased extra points to unlock a chapter earlier? Yes, but it’s my choice not to wait the six hours in that case. No one is holding a chapter hostage until I spend money to unlock a chapter. Their business model is one that this app should consider. Good StoriesOverall, the app offers a wide selection of options to read and even narrows it down based upon your favorite types of stories. Stories are decently written with the ratings fairly accurate to what I would have rated. Surprisingly, it is easy to navigate from the beginning. One of the issues I found is that it isn’t as easy to go back to the settings to rework some of your filters, they are not all in the same location. I normally default to profile but that’s not how it was laid out. On the downside, it it intended for you to pay regardless of how loyal you are to reading. The final 20 or so chapters of the stories can only be unlocked by paying with coins and the app doesn’t offer you opportunities to earn enough doing the freebie rewards to earn enough coins. Another issue some other readers noted, is that the reading time is not registering correctly. I was on the app, reading stories not just navigating, for about 75 minutes in order for it to credit me 30 minutes..AG0118Version: 2.12.0

Really good booksThe chapters to unlock usually cost 30 coins sometimes more if you have more. But to go from 30 to 50 if you buy any other coins is literally worth suing the company for lies and fraud because they have a misleading joke that you’re not in on. At most I’ve ever paid for unlocking one chapter is 60 coins. They should leave it at 30. That’s OK I’ll finish my book and be done with this app. This is the worst app I’ve ever encountered for reading. Every other app I’ve read has always had a locked in coin cost unlock. I just discovered that Kindle has free reading. For those of you are into werewolf books or whatever you can search by your genre or by the cost. Good but the newest update…I was really enjoying this app, enjoying the books and exciting stories and so forth. However that was before the newest update happening. The fact that you have to be limited on the amount of ads you can watch for a chapter - the fact that once you hit that limit you have to now use coins or wait an entire day before you can read more is ridiculous. Before you could watch 1 ad and have 25 minutes taken off of the 1 hour wait before the next chapter. I preferred that method greatly because during that 1 hour wait time I could read other things then come back to the one I was waiting for. Now you have to watch 3 ads to unlock the chapter but after you do it five times you’re locked out from doing it again. Don’t waste your time.Just when you really get into the book you’re stuck having to purchase coins to finish it. The timer counts down the hour for the chapter to unlock and then resets so you can’t read anymore. Total waste of time. Update: there’s still a lot of room for improvement. It takes a huge amount of coins to read one book (well over $30) and most of them aren’t edited. You can unlock like 5 chapters (3 ads each if you don’t have coins) you do earn coins every day for reading (but will need to be reading multiple books at once to collect) one chapter could be 10 coins. The next could be 50+ coins. There’s no consistency. I’d definitely be willing to pay monthly/yearly subscription for unlimited reading but the subscription only allows extra daily reward coins and extra coins on purchases. Could be a 5 Star Review but NOI enjoy the books/stories on this app, but it is difficult to fully get the bonus for reading because it doesn’t register correctly. I will be reading for HOURS and not even register 15 or 30 minutes of reading. Then I have to close the app and restart & MAYBE it works. It is a hassle because those coins are suppose to be awarded for time spent reading, well, i spend HOURS on this app and most times i barely get the bare minimum of the bonuses. Another issue i have is the updates. I have gotten really interested in several stories that either take MONTHS to update or just never do. It’s a waste of time to get invested in a story and then you can never know the outcome. Im currently waiting a month on updates to TWO stories, that’s unforgivable. Do better..A. CostI use several reading apps and I have to say this one makes me mad every chapter costs more and more coins can’t watch ads for a chapter have to wait day to get enough coins to read another chapter the real question is WHY.? Are y’all so greedy that you make it this way? You have some good books but totally not worth the hassle . Still have to wait daily for coins or payTo be honest I knew from the start that you’d still have to “pay” somehow but you only get like maybe 4-6 free chapters and then you have to use coins to pay for a chapter. It’s honestly not that great as it seems to be. Every story I’ve started only reached 7-9 pages and the 9th page usually doesn’t have ANY writing in it. 39-42 coins ISNT worth paying for. There are some options like watching 3 ads to open a chapter but even that has a limit. Some said they make a free chapter every hour but that’s complete bull. Stories aren’t half bad but need work on grammar and punctuality as well as not separating the paragraphs away where it makes ten pages but really could be 5 pages. Add Amount of Chapters to Books!I’ve read part of a couple books so far and they are really good, despite some errors with the writing which is usually easy to understand what the author is trying to say, but I don’t know when the books are going to end and it drives me nuts! If we are to pay for a certain amount of chapters, I would like to know how many there are so I know what I would have to pay for if I can’t get enough free coins. Also, the amount we have to pay for shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. I’m only on Chapter 13 of a book and it says I need like 3,000 coins or whatever to finish and that’s like $30 worth of coins. That’s the price of ONE hardcover book! We shouldn’t have to pay so much just to read some books. It’s great but…This app is great! I really enjoy the books! I also like the coin idea. My only complaint is that as each chapter goes it gets more and more expensive to unlock with the coins. I like that you don’t HAVE to spend real money on this app. Because I don’t have money like that to spend. I also really like that it lets you watch videos daily for coins. I just wish that it wouldn’t get so expensive to unlock chapters. Wouldn’t change it for any other app 🥰I have tried so many novel apps and this is my favorite one by far! I can get more coins each day just by logging in and even more for reading. Your coins do not expire (❤️) I’ve also gotten 5 free episodes PER book on everyone that I’ve opened minimum. And my favorite part is that if you watch short ads you can also unlock chapters! I have made purchases because some stories are just too good but totally worth it! I also really appreciate the extra coins for leaving reviews. The comment section keeps it interactive and it’s good to keep up on if there’s anything going on with a story as well as to share reactions in real time with other readers. Soooooo expensiveI really liked the book I started - Strings of Fate. Sadly, It really started to drag at the end. Chapters became about 50 cents each for 6-7 phone screens in a chapter. The book was 299 chapters and I didn’t finish because the last 100 chapters were the same story from a different POV. I added up my total purchases and freebies(from watching adds,etc) and I spent $2.99/week on a subscription plus an additional $37 to open chapters. With my “freebies” I got an additional $30. I didn’t finish and it would have cost me $73 without any free coins. For a book with numerous typos and an ending that didn’t deliver!! In-app currencyThe app and its features and books are very nice however the in-app currency prices are a bit… high. Sounds dumb i know but hear me out. I understand that apps such as these need ways to make money and support their writers however there are free ways to get the in-app currency includes, reading for preset periods of time or leveling, which is not the problem. While you can read multiple books simply to get the coins for completing the read times they are often not enough to read on and unlock chapters and leveling requires you to spend coins on things that aren't reading in order to level up and get the promised coins. This makes it even harder to unlock chapters without spending real money on coins, which isn’t always an option for readers. Love this novel!!!I love this novel so much! I fell in love with it by just reading the title. So I dove right in and have not been able to stop reading. I really fell in love with the characters and have felt a connection to Julie and Luke. They’re facing a new road ahead together with all their pain and suffering from the past and it makes for a good read. I really love this app and the way it allows to continuously read by watching ads to read the next chapter or gain coins from reading. You can watch more adds that resets each hour which increased your coins. You have basically earn coins to add up for a whole novel by checking in each day. I would encourage anyone to read it. Little complaintsI have been using this app for about a month, I don’t have many complaints, but my only complaint is about opening yhe chapters, I personally love to continue reading without interruptions and with this app as well as others I have to stop and wstch the videos to get more coins to be able to read, I am paying monthly for this app, but honestly I don’t see any benefits from it, I don’t get uninterrupted reading, I don’t get any any incentives that I have noticed, so why pay monthly for something that doesn’t benefit me, according to the payment plan I get double coins, honestly I haven’t noticed any of that. Don’t like the recent changesI’ve been reading on this app for a few months and have found quite a few great stories. And I was quite happy to wait the hour to read the next chapter or watch the occasional ad to gain coins. But in the last few days I’ve found that none of the stories I’m reading have the hour wait as an option. And I have to watch ads or buy coins instead to read the next chapters. I’m not a wealthy person. I’m actually barely scraping by financially and reading is one of the few joys I have. What’s with the update?So, I woke up to an update. Like I do with all of my apps I check in for my daily rewards and then with this app I click on a chapter to unlock it. I’m okay with waiting the hour because I unlock all the characters I can and then read. Plus, it’s an hour which is tons better then some apps. Imagine my surprise when I try to unlock a chapter, the same chapter that was in the process of unlocking before the update) and I have the option for an ad instead. Ads are cool, but why not give the option to wait for the Auto Unlock along with the ad and coin option? I don’t know how many ads it allows in one day before you have to wait the next day, but I’m sure it’s not many (as with other apps). That’s just disappointing.NikeytaVersion: 2.19.0

Stories are good- but payment is not so clear.First off, for anyone skimming reviews- it will cost you about $30 to read a story. The about per story to pay to read is not very clear. I don’t mind pay as you go options because I’m finding “subscriptions” to these kinds of apps not to be so easy to cancel. So I prefer the one time payment options. When you think 5 or 15 coins to continue a chapter isn’t so bad- they don’t tell you up front how much each chapter costs. Not even when you continue to the next chapter. I only realized they get more expensive the further in you go into the book. When I went to get more coins added to my account did I then see my chapters were going from 15 cents to 45 cents. by then I was invested in the story. It’s a one and done book app for me. Is it worth it?There is a lot of pros and cons to this app. Do you have to spend money to read? No Do do you have to wait for chapters to unlock? Yes Can you spend money to unlock those chapters? Yes Is the pricing consistent? No (I would get different pricing for different chapters in the same novel) If you get the subscription could you avoid the timer? No, the cool down will just cut down to 30min instead of 60min. I enjoyed the story’s on the app and liked that there was a 60 min timer to unlock each chapter instead of out right paying for them. I also don’t mind paying to unlock each chapter. That’s if the pricing was consistent or even worth it. Why do I have to pay 25-30 coins for some and then 40 for others, especially if they are in the same novel. Oh and if you plan on buying the alpha novel plus make sure to keep in mind that the only thing it does is make things a little easier. You still have to do all the other daily stuff to get coins, you get a certain percentage off for coins. It doesn’t even get rid of the timer, it just lowers it to 30min instead of 60min. Personally I don’t think the alpha novel plus is worth it. If your broke and are willing to wait an hour for each chapter this is the app to go to..J8LRVersion: 1.49.0

I love this app but…I love this app. It’s been giving me everything I need but since the app updated I have had to be stuck on all chapters that I know have all the timer countdowns on. They are free still but everytime my timer has gone all the way down to where I can read it the timer restarts. I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem. This all started at 12am last night and I have been trying to read my chapter but the timers are constantly restarting no matter what. I have removed the app from my phone and redownloaded it. My thoughtsAll in the this app is great. You do have to wait a hour between chapters or you could spend coins. They have multiple options on ways to earn coins by watching videos though you only get 5 videos every 24 hours or so and each video is worth 5 coins. You can also read for a certain amount of time and get coins for that. They have a pretty decent amount of books to choose from. My only problem is that you have to pay to read chapters when you get close to finishing a book. And also you can’t read views on books before you read them you can only read a synopsis and see how many people viewed the book. Alpha Novels/ the change!!!!This is the first app for books that I’ve found that is the best!! Fair and it gives you the opportunity to get coins to continue reading!!! The only thing is when I started reading you could cut times in half by watching an ad please bring that back it’s better way better!! In my earlier review I was happy that I found an app that was enjoyable , but that was taken away because now I have to wait for long periods of time to actually complete a book . This new thing has you to watch ridiculous amounts of ads long I might add and I still can’t complete the daily tasks unless I buy more coins geez but as soon as I finish this book I’m really enjoying I’m deleting this too… it started wonderful and ended just like all the rest … what a shame!.DetiviaVersion: 2.23.0

Best app!Out of all the novel apps I’ve read this is by far my Favorite! Not only are the stories so amazing and addicting, but you only have to wait an hour for the next chapter to unlock and there’s an option where you can watch an ad to half that time to around 25 minutes! All the apps I’ve read on, always made me wait 6 hours to a whole day! The chapters are a bit expensive but if you log in and read for an hour everyday, it’s fairly easy and simple to make coins! Reading my first storyThe plot line is typical, billionaire playboy falls in love with poor-ish girl, love at first sight thing. The grammar seems awkward. People do speak using contractions but it seems like the story I’m reading was autocorrect to remove contractions. This makes it sound like it’s trying too hard to be proper English. A natural conversation from the 19 year old female character would have her speak more casual, not forced. So far by chapter 6, I’ve found missing quotation marks. I went back to the last sentence and the last sentence has open and closed “ “ marks but the next sentence only has the closed “. Maybe it’s just a pet peeve of mine. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I know these stories haven’t gone through a publisher but seriously, basic 4th grade English. No ads, but too expensiveI am rating this app 3 stars. One for functioning adequately, one for excellent, intriguing stories, and one for having no forced ads. No 4th star because of lack of transparency and greedy use of microtransactions for in game premium currency, required to read additional chapters. $0.99 only covers 3 chapters. You cannot advance using any rewarded ads, because the game has Zero ads of any kind. You are not given access to the table of contents when starting a book. No 5th star because it did not end up on my essential or favorite games and apps list after trying it. After reading 90 chapters of a book and already spending $15 on it, I gave up on finishing it. Love this app but this update is killing me !!I don’t even do reviews but I’ve had this app for a few months now and out of all the novel apps, this one has kept my interest and attention for way longer. Now while I definitely downloaded this app so I can read some free novels, I’ve also spent a good amount on them too, But what I LOVED about this app is that you could wait a hour for a new chapter to be up, or watch an ad and half that time. But this new update with the three ads for one chapter?? and one 5 chapters unlocked at a time?? Addicting but priceyI absolutely love the book I am reading. I tons want to put it down!!! Unfortunately, that is not an option for me. I have already spent enough unlocking chapters to pay for a couple of paper novels!!! They want waaaaay too much per chapter, and for me being on a limited budget, it just isn’t sustainable, so I have the frustration of having to wait for another freaking day!!! Cut the per chapter cost in half, and you would be closer to a realistic book price. These novels aren’t gold plated, they are electronic!!! Pregnant By Four AlphasWhen I first downloaded this app it was really good. But the more stories I read, the bigger the point count gets for the next chapter. Meaning if you don’t spend your own money. You can’t read a chapter everyday. Not everyone can afford to spend $9.99 a week to enjoy freely these stories. I am not one to juggle more the a couple stories at a time. But now with such high points needed I am down to one story at a time. At least with other apps you get the opportunity to read more than one chapter a day. I stay because I really like the stories I have read so far. Just wish the points were less. Never Again!This app is a total ripoff! I read one book on here and it ended costing me more than a hardcover at retail price! The top ups just kept coming without having any idea how many chapters were left. I read Luna Lola The Moon Wolf. The story concept itself was pretty decent, and it moved at a decent pace. However, the writing was absolutely atrocious! Ever heard of editing? If I had a printed copy, every single page would be covered in red ink. It was full of spelling and grammatical errors, poorly constructed sentences with words in completely the wrong order, and often incorrect words altogether. Further, the language choice was often base with over-the-top obscenities that did not suit the character or situation, just carelessly thrown in for impact it did not achieve. Also, I found many of the characters to be weak and whiney, blubbering or falling ill all the time. Finally, the sexual encounters were trashy and cliche, like they copied scenes from pathetic porn films. That annoyed me the most because it did not fit the answers I gave in the profile questionnaire I completed when I downloaded the app. Obviously, I was naive about the content of apps such as this. I was certainly not looking for the XXX version of Twilight! Too much moneyIt seems to me that they’re trying to bilk you for every penny they can. The chapters are ridiculously short, just a few short pages each so that you’re spending 45 coins every four or five pages (if even that long) to read a single book. I admit I downloaded the app simply because I wanted to see how the book in the ad that I’d read turned out. I purchased 500 coins (and they had a deal where they added another 17 coins,) because the first few chapters were free and I had a strange idea that it wouldn’t be that long of a story. I had no idea that I’m now past the 20th chapter and I’m not even in the neighborhood of being near the end of this book. I only have enough coins left for one more chapter. Exorbitant pricesI downloaded this app for one story that’s not even complete because I’d seen an ad for it. After spending about an hour on the app, I can firmly say that this app is a scam for readers. There is a coin system in which each chapter of a book cost coins, of which the amount of coins go up each chapter, usually. You can watch about 3-4 minutes of ads between each individual chapter, which means you are only reading for about 3-4 minutes before another set of ads. Alternatively you can purchase coins. Doesn’t sound too bad right? You are paying to support an author right? Well, when was the last time you paid 60 dollars in coins to finish one not published,unfinished book? Because that’s how much it would have cost me to finish 183 chapters of an unfinished novel. Super expensiveI did the math for two of the stories I read. One would’ve costed me roughly $130 to read just to the current chapter, and that’s if the coins don’t fluctuate on how much to unlock the next chapter (first two it was like 14, then 16, then 45 out of no where) even getting the bonus’s and daily log in, there’s no way you’d be able to read it for an affordable amount (at least if your lower class). The second one would’ve costed me around $$243 to read to the most recent chapter (also if the purchase amount dosn’t fluctuate). I live paycheck to paycheck and know a lot of people that do. It would be in the app developer’s best interest to either add different subscriptions or make find a way to make it more affordable for the more average user, or else your never going to have long term consumers. By subscriptions, here is an example I personally would find reasonable, $9.99/week with free reading of up to 100 chapters, with a 1.5 multiplier on the bonuses/daily log in coins (you’d still give coins to encourage readers to read outside of compelling storylines. Another example, would be a 1 month subscription for $45, this would include free chapters up to 600, and a coin multiplier of 2 for any earned reading. Also, one last suggestion, would be to add some kind of sticker/bookmark collection. You could have themed ones for generes or books themselves, though you might have to hire designers for themed ones (but if you do subscriptions, assuming the designer is paid $15/hour and works for 35 hours a week fir a month it would only take 211 one month subscriptions or it would take 47 one month subscriptions to pay that artist, based on other users recommendations as well, my guess is you’d have closer to 800 weekly and roughly 1000 monthly, if not more.) Use to be a Great Reading ApplicationI’ve had this Application now almost a year and have throughly enjoyed the ease of reading with this application. HOWEVER this recent update of Ad watching to unlock and limitations of said ads is a bit overdone. I understand making sure the authors are rewarded but why limit the amount of adds one can watch in a day. I’d suggest if you want your current readers to stay loyal to your application that you change something quickly or you will lose a lot of readers. GarbageIt’s a garbage app with garbage riding. They give you daily tasks to do so that you can get more “coins” to read more chapters, but you have to use coins in order to get coins and most of the time you have to use more coin then the amount of coins are actually going to get. Also, if you watch ads, you only get five coins, but it is usually like 30 to 40+ coins to read one chapter that’s possibly 3 to 6 paragraphs long because they break the chapters up in the micro chapters. I even tried a subscription for 299 a week. I thought I was gonna get 300 coins a day. No it was a one time 300 coin purchase and a bunch of useless amenities that don’t allow you to read the book I immediately canceled it. Expensive & FrustratingI LOVE to read. And reading electronically doesn’t bother me as I use Apple Books for reading daily. This app is beyond expensive and frustrating… Each chapter is broken up oddly into 6-9 phone-screen pages… about 2-3 book pages. The chapter breaks are at weird times as well… mid conversation, for example. Or they’re in a store shopping and it’ll be 2-3 “chapters” long. On top of that you have to pay for each of these chapters! They start out kind of reasonable at about 18 coins (coins are purchased with real money, but some can also be earned through ads and challenges/gifts), but once you’re hooked into the book they’re about 35-50 coins per “chapter”. I happened to check and it was almost 9,000 coins to read ONE book, at 299 “chapters” (about $40)!!! That’s astronomical!!! The normal price of a paperback book is anywhere from $7-15, so ~$40 is outrageous! And I don’t even know if I get forever access to the book! If it weren’t for the good book I’m enjoying I would drop the app in a heartbeat, but I’ll finish it out for the sake of the book. This may be a “good” way for authors to get “published” initially, but for me who likes read all of an authors books when I like the writing style this is highly impractical at $40/book. I’d like to give more stars but…I loved this app when I first got it, chapters would unlock after an hour. It was totally free except the last 10-20 chapters (depending on the book). Don’t downloadDownloaded tonight. Found a book I would have finished in a few hours. Signed up for “prime” got my coins, and read. I went through 1500 coins in 4 hours. Went to see the rewards, and it shows I haven’t read even 10 minutes. Their prime says you earn up to a certain amount a day, but they can’t even get my reading time right. Any stories or Galatea allows a single price per week/month and you can read as much as you want. Stories need polish and are too expensiveThe story lines are generally interesting and keep you engaged enough to want to keep reading. The problem os that the chapters are super short, they either are not formatted correctly or the grammar makes me need to re-read some sentences so I understand who said what, and some of the descriptions go overboard and I have to work not to glaze over. Pay to read grammar errors all dayI used this app well over a year. Read a-lot of the stories on here, the variety is great. However, the stories have a-lot of grammatical errors, the chapters are 6-12 pages max. Great if you are able to do quick reads, not for me. Are the books worth the hassle?So far the books I’ve tried have been promising, but I’m not sure if I’ll ever finish any of them. Each book I’ve tried started with several chapters with no strings. Then you get a few more if you are willing to watch about 3 minutes of ads for each. But, there is a limit on how many ads it will let you watch each day, and it doesn’t have the decency to even give you a countdown to renewed access. Worst writing everI subscribe to read the novel Lola Luna in English. The novel is written by a teenage boy whose first language is clearly not English, and even though this is an expensive subscription to read books, the app didn’t bother to hire a proper English as a first language editor. There are a ton of misspellings, use of language that is not how English speakers speak or write, character names are confused with each other, which makes it an interesting experience, trying to figure out what character is actually in the scene, and totally immature, interactions between the male and female characters that would never happen in proper adults. They flirt like 13-year-olds. Which is the age I imagine the writer is. So many problems with this whole set up, and a complete waste of money and time..Toronto DwellerVersion: 2.26.0
