If nothing else, try the demo.(Minor spoilers in parentheses) Look I know that a lot of games look basic and end up being meh, but trust me when I tell you that this is not one of those games. It has an in depth story that actually gets kind of sad at times, and the plot is very well written. The main character does not seem to take in much info, but as the player you get to see a post-apocalyptic world run by plants, told with a cutesy design that makes the game awesome. The clues are a little tricky sometimes, the key is to take everything literally (for example when the gamer asks for tier 3 subs in the demo she does not want subscribers, she wants a sub sandwich). Truly one of my favorite games to play, ever. At the very least give the demo a shot, and if it’s not for you that’s fine! But I’m willing to bet that 9/10 people will adore it. I know I do! Also you will see a few reviews saying that you have to pay and they don’t tell you, but the description quite literally says that only the demo is free, and you have to pay a fee for the whole game. This game cured my cancer.Before I had this game I was a small sickly, weak, little, tiny, baby man. submitting to the tyranny of the government, and not evading taxes like a good citizen. I was in the hospital every other day with stage six cancer, the taxes and bills were piling up. Mainly the taxes. My wife divorced me, my children stole my car and killed my dog. But then… I felt a disturbance in the force. A disturbance so powerful it shook the very earth with its might. I was out weeding my garden, that was diminishing for lack of care. When suddenly, out of the ground a small round white vegetable called a turnip appeared much to my dismay, or so I thought. The words he spoke were strange, but I understood them. He enlightened me, he broadened my mind and my scope of reality. He told me that he could save me, that he could get me out of my debt and my woes, through the power of turnip magic… and tax evasion. With his turnip magic he cured my cancer, he brought my wife and my kids and most importantly my car back. He gave me guns… Lots of guns to get rid of the people that killed my dog. And then he gave me new children because they were the ones who killed my dog. And then he brought my dog back. And then, through his powers of turnip tax evasion, my bills and my taxes were gone. I had no more debt… I was free. His one and only request, was that I check out a small game in which he does turnip things… like evading taxes. It was a simple request and I was happy to oblige. For all that he had done for me I would give at most two fingers. And so I write to you, reader. To share the wonders that this turnip, and his game, and turnip magic and his tax evasion have done for me. I. LOVE. THE. PEOPLE. WHO. MADE. THIS. GAME.Ok now I’m not exaggerating. This is an ADORABLE action-packed RPG game-. Now people might complain about the price and argue that you actually have to buy the rest of the game, but I say otherwise. Go through the first part of the game and count how many ads there are. Spoiler: there are none. This game doesn’t include any ads, so it’s expected that they need to make some moolah 💵 one way or another. Plus, it’s only five dollars. Most of the times you don’t even get a sneak-peak-like demo, so it’s nice to get an insight to what the game is actually like BEFORE buying it. There’s Lots to do in the game, the art style is so amazing that saying it’s “adorable” would be a complete understatement, the dialogue is absolutely creative as well as hilarious, so much so that you can tell the developers let themselves have fun when they made the game. And I find that really charming. So yeah- this game is really cute and charming (again not exaggerating). As for the developers, I love this game so much and it has a special place in my heart. Controllers are supported!!!First off, I only game on my ipad. Second, I had this title’s release date marked in my calendar. I was excited. That said, I was not let down. The gameplay mechanics are simple but clever and incredibly well done. There are both combat and puzzle elements to the gameplay and the two are often blended, like when fighting a boss. The story line is well done. The game is generally funny. And when it comes to an end, you are left with endless fun. (No spoilers) It can easily be played by LITERALLY ANYONE WHO CAN READ. YOU CHOOSE YOUR LEVEL OF CHALLENGE and the game can be challenging. Finally, CONTROLLERS ARE SUPPORTED!!! What did I just playThis game surprised me so much. I expected this to be a fun little game to play when I get bored on the weekends or something but OH no. I played this entire game in one sitting and loved it. The dialogue, the art style, the music, all of it. Is it worth five dollars? Not...Yet. This game is incredible and I totally recommended, but I've spent five dollars on other games that have entertained me for weeks, and this entertained me for about 2 hours, maybe a little more. The game can be a lot of back and forth, just a lot of the same. It'd be fun if there were side quests that were longer than 10 seconds and not just fetch quests. Turnup the taxess!Honestly was surprised at how well this game was made but also at how short it was. I completed the game, got all 37 of the achievements and tore up everything muah hahahaha in just a few hours hehe. Turnip boy is the cutest and most rebellious lil fella that you can’t help but love and the story of the game was well thought out. I also love the cute little veggie character designs as well. Some things that I was confused about are humans and how these veggies actually came to life. What happened to the humans and what about the guy that was with Liz the human girl? My guess is that they’re all dead or mutated or hidden from the rest of the world. Was the gooo the so call “virus” that came out from nuclear atomic weapons or maybe it’s radio active stuff that kills humans and give life to inanimate objects? Also, the hardest boss in this game in my opinion was the dam rotten apple cat. Ngl I died a few times mainly cuz I’m not patient enough to wait for her to stop spinning around. In any case I thought Mayor Onion would be hard but ehhhh he’s pretty weak while squabbling about world domina- taxation and greed. Overall I enjoyed the game play and the controls were pretty smooth. If only turnip boy always walked so fast with the coffee things would’ve gone much faster lol. 5 dollars is kinda pricy but at the same time because it’s basically equivalent to two bus rides or a Starbucks drink so I don’t mind it too much. Pretty good but could be betterHonestly, as a game that has no ads i 100% understand why there is a pay wall, which is totally fine with me. However, i feel like considering there IS payment, the game should have more to it. After you finish defeating the final boss and everything, there isnt much else to do other than find new hats or get achievements. Best game ever!!!Ok to start off the graphics are amazing and the pixel art style really sells it. There is endless amounts of content and characters and dialogue to go through so you never feel bored. I saw a lot of comments talking about the $5 paywall about 15-20 minutes into the game but it’s like, yeah? It says that in the AppStore so it’s not like you shouldn’t have seen it coming and also it’s a really well made game that should go for so much more than just $5. If you aren’t willing to or don’t see why you should pay for this game then that’s your problem because this is amazing. Very funSo I’m gonna do some breakdown on this game. Graphics- because for some reason, this always pops up. This is very Super Nintendo like which is always nice because of the simplicity of it. The cutscenes are also short and to the point and humans are drawn anime style. I can’t really rate the graphics because everyone has their preference. For someone who grew up with the older games, this is nostalgic so I’ll give it a 10/10. Music- the music is also the same as the older SN games. It’s sort of annoying but not bad enough to put the game down. Battleplay- the directions are very simple and if you don’t get it the first time, you’ll get it on the second try. This game isn’t super hard so figuring out when to attack and when to speed up is easy. 10/10 Controls- the controls are a little frustrating for some teleporting. If not done properly, you’ll end up pushing something into a wall and there is no “pull” control. Talking and getting in your inventory is down with one click of a button. Also, none of the buttons are in the way of anything so you still have visuals. 8/10 Storyline- it’s very cute. I love the little interactions between the plants and how they made rabbits the bad guys. It really is quite an interesting game. But…you can beat the game in less than a day. Impeccable Indie MasterpieceI have this game on my PC and when I saw that I could play it on my phone, I made the quickest impulse purchase of my life and bought the full mobile version. Keep in mind that this is a 15$ PC game that your getting on mobile with good touch controls, Controller support(that I have confirmed to work on my razer Kishi), and it’s 5$ instead of 15$! You must get this game, it rivals Kirby with how cute the characters are, and that’s a pretty big statement! The game is also actually funny, the second level involves you clearing a barn for someone named “slayQueen32”, that’s genuinely funny, it doesn’t try to hard. Great game, awful interfaceI love this game. The sense of humor, the originality of quests, the old school graphics… but trying to play this on an iPad is AWFUL. The control to move is on the left (I’m right handed) and even if you drag around the screen, it inevitably loses you and he stops walking, or you accidentally open a menu in the middle of fighting a boss. Having to bring up a menu to switch between tools/weapons is also frustrating. I ended up moving over to my Apple TV to play because doing it here was useless (I simply cannot pass the third boss with this interface.). Amazing. Just amazing.This is undoubtedly my favorite game I HAVE EVER PLAYED! From the amazing art style to the cute hats everything is perfect. The story is amazing and very well put together, let alone the fun combat. Good, but save files are easily losableOverall good game, but it could use a little more content, and also save files are easily Losable. It doesn’t seem that bad, but just wait until you’re *this* close to a 100% (not including the limitless line) and then you lose a save file because the continue and new game are close, and so are the yes and no options to “are you sure.” There is no way to get your old save file back, because it instantly saves over as soon as you click yes. Now I have to play the whole game again just to return to where I was. Great game! I wish it was longerGreat game with characters, dialogue, and story that kept me wanting to play. I just wish it was longer with more story, it’s intuitive and I liked how the puzzles got a little more complex as the story advanced, but it’s only a few hours worth of playtime. There’s an infinite dungeon train that’s in the game now once you pass the main story, which is nice if you like that but personally I’m not really a dungeon gamer. Great but..This game is amazing. I love how you can go on adventures, along with ripping up all the documents and books. I give this a 4 star only because I don't like the how you have to pay to play the rest of the game. AmazingI totally love this game, despite having to pay a minimal of 4.99$ to continue completing the game it was amazing! The graphics, controls and story are 10/10! Favorite Mobile GameI am going to start with saying two things 1) I have never written a review for a game before. 2) I have never paid for an app in my life. After playing the demo I was so impressed by the graphics and storyline, and very much intrigued, that I decided to buy the full game. It was so worth it. Still waiting for the sequel to release on mobileThis game was definitely worth $5. The lore surprised me and I loved every second of this game. Not sure why daily challenges are only on Steam though. This is the first game I’ve gotten every achievement in and it was a blast. I didn’t need to use godmode for most of the game, but it did help me with the [REDACTED] boss fight. Glitch and I can’t get past levelI really like this game I’m just experiencing a glitch I believe. So when I finally got to the forgotten forest both the stags ran away. the first one ran away into the non explorable forest and then the boss stag appeared and I fought it for like 2 seconds then it ran off just like the one before into the forest that I can’t go into cause of all the trees it’s a non playable area. Ever since then I haven’t been able to get them to reappear again they are just completely gone I even deleted the whole app to see if it would be fixed but it’s not. I don’t know what to do. Love this seriesI have played the game right when it came to switch, not expecting much, but quickly fell in love with the whole Turnip Boy franchise. Finished Turnip Boy Robs a Bank recently and it was just as good as the original and can't wait for Turnip Boy Steals the Mail. I love the interconnected plots from both games and hope that continues in the next games. I also enjoyed the different game types, with tax evasion being a puzzle game and robs a bank is a dungeon crawler. Wonderful game!!The demo was amazing for this game, great graphics, everything ran smoothly and the puns were a great touch! Tax EvasionThis game is the definition of “short but sweet.” Even thought it costs $5 (which isn’t that much) it’s so so so worth it. Great game but….I love the pixelated type of graphics and the story line is peak. Only after getting the fertilizer could I infer something suspicious was going on and was going to happen.
