This is the only app that I have found that is actually free. Yes, you have to watch ads after 2-3 chapters. But it’s worth the money you save. I have had 100s of reading apps that make you pay by the chapter. And some books on those apps have 1000s of chapters. But on NovelFlow, I have yet had to pay for anything. The books are good too. There are some that need editing, but I can usually get around the issues of grammar and translation. If you like reading foreign authors but don’t want to spend money by the chapter, this app is for you! So far everything they say about the app is true, and I have not felt scammed like other novel apps. My only complaint is there are a lot of unfinished books. And I don’t like waiting for chapters to be uploaded. I like to read a story from the beginning till end. But hopefully that will change soon and the authors will finish their stories.
FINALLY, an app that advertises free reading and actually IS FREE. Sure, you have to watch an add after each chapter but I’d much rather do that than spend money unnecessarily. (Note: You could pay a subscription for add-free reading, but as a full-time student I can’t indulge in this offer. Maybe in the future they will offer a student discount.) You get check-in and task coin rewards, but I still haven’t figured out its purpose because you can’t use them towards unlocking chapters… it seems that once you reach 10,000 coins a you can cash out $1. I wish we could use the coins towards unlocking chapters, but I won’t complain since to pros outweigh this tiny con. So happy I can finally read for free! I’ll take the ads instead of paying any day!
I’ve actually been enjoying the book I’m reading on here and they really did give a lot of free chapters, more than any other app I’ve come across which makes it a joy to just sit and read. Honestly I’ve deleted the rest of my “supposedly free” reading apps because the amount of money you end up spending over time is staggering. This one is, so far, exactly what it claims to be. I even had one app that I bought a bunch of coins on and while I had the app closed they decided for themselves how my coins that I spent my money on should be spent (that one was Mobilis; avoid it they spent 2/3 of my coins without my consent). This app, NovelFlow, however, has actually been a joy to read. I love it.
I was able to pick up an annual subscription for unlimited reading and I’m extremely happy. There are so many books to choose from. There’s this app and another I enjoy for the same reasons. There’s apps out there that allow you to read so many chapters and you have to then buy coins which are overpriced. I wish books could be added to folders that, we the readers could create like Galatea. This way if I think the book was great I can file it and if it’s bad that could be created too. Also if there was a way to click on the authors name while in their book to see what else they’ve written vs going to the end of the story. Galatea does that and it’s so much easier than the searching process on this app. Another is proofreading before publishing. I’ve read some books that had horrible story lines with significant grammar issues, redundancy, and inconsistencies that drag books out when not needed. One last thing is the comment section. There are many times I’ve critique a book and my comments disappeared, so I’m curious as to why. Either way, you won’t be disappointed with the flat rate subscription and you can read as much as you want .
I have been using this app for about six months. My phone was whipped clear of everything and had to start from scratch, so when I re-downloaded this app now I have only a few ads to be able to read without waiting? I am not very satisfied with this new way of doing things. I have several ongoing books that I have been waiting for more chapters but when I go to read the new ones I have to wait even more. I have no idea how this came to be but I have no doubt that I am not the only one annoyed with this. Other then that I absolutely LOVE this app. I have been obsessed! It is the only thing (besides my daughter) that keeps me calm, except when I want to jump in the book and strangle the main female character, of course…

With all other reading apps I’ve tried, they have all AGGRESSIVELY pushed their “paid services “ which I wouldn’t mind paying if they didn’t also charge separately for every chapter over the allotted 2 a day, if you suddenly find yourself with free time and are addicted to a story. This app lets you read several stories simultaneously with as far as I can tell no limits. Yeah, you have to watch an ad here and there but I’ve yet to have to spend coins ( or buy coins) in order to read chapters. I’ve only been using this for around 3 weeks but, so far so good & if something changes, I’ll update this review. This is my favorite app and I can’t recommend it enough.
You either have to watch a lot of ads or you have to pay a subscription. They don’t really do individual coin cost options, which is OK I guess because you didn’t get to earn coins quite easily and then trade them for either less ads or VIP treatment it’s not at five just because of if you want to read for free there’s a lot of interruptions in the story line and even though I understand it, it’s still annoying, but I understand that it’s so that the authors get what they need So far the stories that I have read actually I’ve been pretty decent like they actually take time and editing and making sure that the book is well written
I have several of these apps but so far this one is the best. I’ve found several books I like. There are ads but for most of them you can just turn the page but there are a few that you have to watch. It’s how they get paid and we keep reading for free. I find I’m ok with this yes its a pain but it’s not as bad as other apps. Most of the ads are as I said just a couple of seconds then you may have a 30 second one. I don’t drink enough water so when the ads come on I drink because I have been known to get deep into reading and forget to drink my water lol. So a couple of swallows of water or other drink and I can get back to reading. Love this app very much.
I’ve tried Alphanovel, Galatea, MoboReader, and GoodNovel. NovelFlow is at the top of the list. It doesn’t force you to spend money, the ads are not excessive or overly long, and the books are pretty good. It’s by far the least frustrating to use and they do seem to care about their content creators. Galatea is the only other one that comes close, but it has an enforced wait time (or spend money) instead of ads. NovelFlow will let you binge the whole thing so long as you watch ads between chapters. And the books are good — not all of them are raunchy, some are really well written. It’s top of my list!
So far this is the best I’ve found as far as price and ease of use. I paid for the subscription so I could finish this one book that caught my attention on fb. This book is dragging out forever though. You can tell the writers on the app are not experienced and these stories are unedited. Many seem to be written in “RP” format (IYKYK) However, I spent $20 on another app before finally giving up and not finishing the book. This one seems to have at least honored the subscription. The other was $9.99 per week and still didn’t allow unlimited reading of a story. I’m sure eventually I will either finish the book or cancel the subscription bc they are really dragging this out.
Haven’t finished story yet, but so far it has been a wonderful ride! Let’s see, there’s the usual abused damsel who gets rejected by her mate. Happily, though, in this case the Alpha is a good guy and he and his Luna do a lot for her. Also to the good, she isn’t a wilting flower, but strong and super intelligent. I haven’t reached a point where she finds her Second Chance mate (though I’m pretty sure I know who he will be), but she IS an Alpha herself! Ya know, I could write more about the plot development (excellent!) and the characters ( ditto!), but I’m kinda in a hurry to get back to the rest of the story myself….
They helped me handle a cancellation issue. I have written my story below. I signed up for a weekly subscription because I got tired of the ads in the book I was reading. When I signed up, I used PayPal pay not my PayPal account because my PayPal account was locked. When I tried to cancel my subscription using PayPal account, l was unable to find any transactions for novel flow. I contacted novel flow with my issue and they got back to me in less than 24 hours. They then worked with me to handle the issue, contacting PayPal to have my subscription canceled. I know some of the reviews claim that customer service is unresponsive, but that was the complete opposite of my experience.
Love reading. I usually use kindle. I downloaded this app because I saw an ad for a book that looked good. Hate these apps where you have to watch ads to get coins to move on. I know you can pay but by the time you’re done you could have bought a ton of books. But looks like you can just watch ads to continue with the book so that’s not bad. But what I find ridiculous is that once you get to whatever it is finished with the book you have to wait until the next chapter is available. I just want to read it. I don’t want to wait. Decent stories on here. Guess I’ll go to the books where they are completed.
I like the story I’m currently reading. But an ad every 2 pages (I swipe past) then another ad 2 pages after that, then an audio ad 2 pages later and to top it off a page later another ad. Seriously?!?!? Can’t you at least let us read the 2 chapters or even 1 chapter before showing another stupid ad? It starts getting so good but before you finish the paragraph or even a sentence there’s another annoying ad!!! I realize it’s free and I wouldn’t mind the ads so much if there weren’t so many in such a short time!!! I luv to read, but I hates all the ads! There’s just toooo many for my liking.
I have had many book apps and this is the BEST one I have found yet! I have been looking for one like this for ever!! I was definitely on the skeptic side when it said free because let’s be honest they all say that and it’s never true how ever this app is amazing it’s completely free with ads here and there but I’m more than willing to watch them if it keeps this app up and the stories are amazing truly such a wonderful app I hope it never changes the great quality of free mobile reading 10/10 definitely recommend.
This app is actually completely free just like it says. I have downloaded other apps and been forced to either pay to unlock chapters or save enough coins to unlock chapters. Every 2 chapters or so I have to watch an ad but I’ll take it for saving on the constant cost. You still get coins on this app which you can save to ‘purchase’ a full day premium. I was also able to find books I was reading on other apps but haven’t been able to finish due to the cost of unlocking chapters.
So the app itself is free and you don’t HAVE to pay. You can watch a limited number of ads a day to get free chapters but you also get small ads between chapters. They’re not too bad and they’re not crazy long (mine was about 5 seconds then it said i could close it.) but if you can’t wait for more ads after reading your 8 ads for new chapters then you are offered options to pay for a no ads and no waiting reading experience. So far it’s pretty okay, not all of the books have excessive grammar or spelling errors but there are a few that do.
I am absolutely stoked to have found an app where you only have to watch and add every so often to continue reading a story. Currently reading a story I absolutely love but lately anytime I read or use the app it takes me to the internet pulling up a tab about scams and whatnot, or my phone starts setting off an alarm and in my notifications it says something is scanning through my phone. I don’t want to delete the app because I’m invested in the story I’m reading but it’s been being a little sketchy. Wondering and hoping it’s just a glitch with the app?
I love this app and spend much time on it because the books are great and I love reading them I’m stuck on one book as of now and can’t wait to get to the end it was a relief to see once I download the book it act was free and it give you the option to go ad free if you want but they give you the coins to turn to real money for ad free reading for a couple days……But the app is really great and I like it definitely recommend for readers who like reading worthwhile books that keep you on your toes
I am new to this app. I read the reviews before getting it. The complaints about the adds were in my opinion exaggerated. There are commercials when you watch TV. Just think of the adds as commercials. The chapters are short some could be combined. I’m on SSI I can’t pay a lot of money for these stories. The app and authors have to make money for their craft. Thank you for making it possible for those with limited income to enjoy these stories.
I’ve been using this app for a few months now and I like it for the most part, but they have gone from reading two chapters then ad to one then ad. I have no problem watching ads considering it’s free, but most ads seem longer than chapters. Ads just seem to got longer and it’s becoming aggravating. UD: The ads are getting longer, even the in between ones when up flip to next page. I appreciate that it’s free but it seems to take longer and longer now to read anything. Not sure how much longer I’ll use this app.
Update: After reaching out, the company emailed me back immediately and canceled the subscription for me. Overall the app is really nice and I did enjoy it while I was using it. As a suggestion, please make it easier to find information on how to add or cancel subscriptions. Other than that it’s a good app. I enjoyed the app but with so many ads for the free reading I opted to just do a month long subscription. Now that I’m not using it I tried to cancel my subscription just for the app to tell me to cancel through a third party and for the website to tell me to cancel through the App Store. Neither had an option to even look at the subscription types. I even tried to look in my subscriptions in my settings app and nothing. This is the hardest I’ve ever had to work to make adjustments to a subscription plan. I would be happy to change my review if they made it easier.
I’m mad u guys say it’s free reading give it the first’s chapters to continue we have to pay it shows to open in app not fair u guys a liar
So good
The story’s are good. Lots of ads
Very good story. Nice pacing
I could read a lot of chapters but had to watch adds. A great deal though
L’attente apres les chapitres avec les videos sont trop longues ca me fait décrocher et quand je tombe dans un livre je le fini en a peine deux jours a cause de mon obsession des livre i need moreeee
I love reading
Interesting stories, can stay glued to reading here.
Books are fantastic and addictive, easy to use app really enjoying it at this time
110% amazing
Can’t believe, a few chapters in, it’s all been free and the book I am reading is great!
Great stories and great that you can earn points by watching ads!
This app and Wattpad are the only two that I use for reading werewolf, billionaire smut - lol. You actually can read an entire book for free. I run it in my phone and iPad so that I can be running ads on one device and reading the next chapter on the other. Enjoy! (P.s. Game of Destiny is a great first book if new to the app)
I really enjoy the story I am reading but I cannot pursue to the end, subscription being too expensive for me unfortunately.
Love it
So far good
Vraiment belle application, oui des pubs pour encourager les auteurs mais on peut facilement lire le livre complet sans débourser, par contre il faut être patient et écouter les pub. Ou encore payer et aller plus vite.
Just got the app but so far I really like the format and rewards system.
Can’t put it down.
Love it! Easy to use, great books!
Some of my favourite stories i cant put my phone down 😍
Too much publicity. The app keeps crashing and the pages don’t want to turn. It’s really slowing down my phone a lot. Please improve this.
Like this no paying and the story are amazing im joker
So far this app I’ve enjoyed the book options on this app ant it has been the best for videos watched or articles read to unlock chapters. Most are geared to force you to pay.
The app is amazing!
New to this app but the book I have started with is well written and edited, a rarity for most of these apps.
This app is great , pretty expensive considering kindle is only like 10$ a month and it’s unlimited reading but still good
So far so good. Enjoy the experience.
Have enjoyed it so far
Very good so far see where it leads.
Loving it!
So far not bad
So far, so good
Love the stories
So easy to read your chapters with no strings attached
Easy to earn coins to continue reading
I relax while reading, and this has been so wonderful.
NovelFlow-Unlimited Books Negative Reviews and Ratings
This is not my first time with a book app. However, so far, it is the worst. I am reading a novel that is quite good, therefore the app gets 2 stars. It lost a star for not doing any editing for grammar, misspelling, or just plain mistakes. I mean, “surgery ice tea”? What is that? Do you mean rogue wolf or rouge wolf? Where our clothes was? The chapters are only about 4-5 pages long, with very large script. It loses another star for the obscene amount of advertising. There is a banner ad on each and every page. Reading two pages gets you a static ad you have to swipe past, and every fourth-fifth page gets you an animated ad that is usually at least one minute long and often longer, that you cannot skip though. The ads wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t for the same games over and over, with animations of someone playing so badly you wonder if anyone could really be that stupid, or with bad scripts that you have to listen to, or over acting you have to watch. It loses the third star for the pricing to get rid of the ads. No, I will not pay you more than I pay for my Netflix subscription, or my Disney Plus subscription, or both of my Prime video channels together. I hope to be able to tough it out and finish this novel. Then I am deleting the app.
If I purchase the app would I still be waiting for 2 chapters daily from “The Trap Ex-Wife”? I was thoroughly enjoying this app when I first began reading on it. You could unlock 3 chapters at a time. The first story I read was “The Joy of Revenge”, but I couldn’t complete it because the author got sick and couldn’t finish the book. I have never heard of a book being published before it’s been finished. So I read another book and it was complete so I proceeded to another book and I’m on the 1,170th chapter and the author supposedly submits 2 chapters per day. What the h£\\ ??? Why can’t they just finish the freaking book??? This app started locking me out of the next chapter after I had completed 8 chapters before 5 1/2 hours had passed. Who can’t finish 8 of these super short chapters that are only 3-4 pages long before 5 hours has passed? I can finish these 8 within an hour. I was considering paying for a year subscription but I changed my mind because if the books aren’t finished then I’m wasting my money and my time. Today I read on a comment page at the end of a chapter and someone said that they have been reading the book for over 2 years.
I signed up for the free 3 day trial and tried to cancel the subscription before time was up and charged for the year subscription. HOWEVER, they made it incredibly inconvenient, confusing, and difficult to cancel. They give two steps, that are also INCORRECT, to cancel on paypal. Of course, I can’t find the cancel button and every time I did click a cancel link I would keep getting sent back to cancel on the website or app which would tell me to go back and cancel on paypal. It is not even the end of the day and I end up getting auto renewed for a year subscription. I ended up emailing to ask how to stop or cancel the renewal because I could not figure it out. The instructions and process to cancel is designed to STEAL your money. No response to email yet but I have doubts about their customer service and I assume I will be given a lame reason for why they aren’t refunding me for this stupid subscription. *Update: They left a response to contact in the app…which was also confusing if you didn’t know where to go, and they offered me 50% off. Or a refund minus $19 as a processing charge and a month subscription as compensation….
I don’t usually use it, but the audio is hard to understand. The first author I chose, RJ Kane, is unfortunate. It’s been really hard to read after about 350 chapters. She has lashed out at readers in her notes at the ends of chapters as well as on Instagram. I purposely chose a story that was marked as complete. It’s not and she’s combined her next book with this one without finishing the original storyline. So here I am waiting for another chapter to be written after she had said she’d be petty and withhold the rest of the story just to spite complaints. She ends chapters abruptly and continues on as if she didn’t mark it as a new chapter. The 3rd person writing is super ridiculous as well and hard to follow. She tells the story from 2 or 3 different perspectives in consecutive chapters. It’s redundant and if you’re paying by the chapter, a waste. I subscribed and will be cancelling. I’d rather pay for books on one of the major platforms than deal with rookie authors with a god complex. Side note: NOT an original title. Searched for this book to see if I could read it elsewhere. There was a book by this title written 3 years ago by another author.
Yes, it’s free, but there are a LOT of ads. Soo many ads. What are called chapters are really no more than 4 or 5 decent paragraphs, maybe. Each chapter is 6-7 phone screens long. Every few swipes you are interrupted with an ad you have to swipe by, and while you don’t always have to wait, if you are a fast reader it seems to introduce speed traps and it makes you wait 5-6 seconds before you can swipe again to finish the “chapter”. It *constantly* interrupts the flow. When you hit the end of the chapter you need to wait 35-40 minutes before it will let you even watch an ad to unlock the next “chapter”. If you can walk away for 6.7 hours it will reload the maximum of 10 ads “unlocked”. Once you blow through those 10 chapters you are waiting again for 35 minutes for the privilege of watching another ad to unlock the next chapter. The app description says it’s for avid readers, but if you read faster than a 1st grader you are going to get frustrated by how slowly you are moving through the story. I am simultaneously reading a book on my kindle while waiting for all the ads and for the next chapters to unlock. I’m not even bothering to close the Kindle app on my iPad while I read the story in this app on my phone. If I hadn’t gotten sucked in by one of the sample chapters I and wanted to see what happened I would not continue bothering. There is a subscription option of $165 a year, and some much more costly monthly and weekly options, but the quality of the book and something I read from the author whose book I’m reading leads me to think self-published authors are using this as a place to upload their beta versions or rough drafts and then rely on crowdsourced copy editors. Which I wouldn’t mind doing, but they don’t even make it easy to provide specific corrections on the chapters. So if you are a fast reader who likes to devour a book in one sitting, this is NOT the format I’d recommend. If homonym usage or constant talk to text errors throes you into a tizzy feat, also knot the app I’d recommend.
I downloaded this app and purchased a 3 day trial for $0.99 to see if I would like the app. Before the trial period ended, I realized that I wouldn’t be using this app much and reached out to customer service via email to cancel my upcoming subscription. I received no response and was charged over $160. I emailed back after a few days. Customer service finally replied and stated that they never got my first request. I have sent a screenshot with time and date of my first email, but it’s quite difficult to get in contact with customer service and it seems they try their best to keep you on a subscription. The app itself seems okay and not too buggy. There are some icons that don’t load and have errors. I think my main issue is that the customer service seems a little sketch, response time is slow and if you paid through PayPal, the only way you can cancel is my email.
Not sure how this app is rated so highly. I’m giving it two stars only because I did find a couple of stories that were entertaining… but I also like the old B-rated movies. 😂 The app is free, BUT the stories are not. Yes you can read a couple of chapters each day for watching several ads, but it’s very limited. The vast majority of content is absolute trash. There are a few good stories, but it’s tough finding them as most of the reviews and comments seem to be generated by company owned accounts or bots. There are about 15 storylines re-written 100 ways with name changes, but it’s the same story. The audiobook feature is ridiculous. It mispronounces every other word. Anything with an apostrophe is mispronounced: You’re is pronounce “you-ray”, don’t in pronounced “don-tee”, etc etc etc. Add in the poor writing and almost non-existent editing and the robotic voice, the audio is almost impossible to listen to.
I really don’t begrudge watching ads, and I understand that in order for apps like this to exist and pay creators it has to generate revenue somehow, and if it’s not in cash it will be in time. But if time is a currency this is one of the most expensive ways to spend yours. I got annoyed at the constant ad interruptions and being locked out of the novel I was trying to read, so thought I would earn enough “ncoins” from the rewards center to redeem the hour long ad free reading session, which you get by watching more 20 second to minute long ads. Some are interactive to break up the monotony. After TWO HOURS I earned 5,000 ncoins that I could exchange for either 30 minutes LIMITED ads or use half of those coins for a whopping 5 minutes ad free. (Timed to watching Sister Act Two on network television. And when the commercials were shorter and less repetitive than the ads it was little extra salt in the wound). In their defense, there were a few non ad options that would be earn higher amounts of ncoins quicker, but involved engaging in their social media across all platforms or allowing the app to track you. I’m sure the paid version would have been a less painful experience, but the free version felt so hostile as a user that I don’t intend to keep it in any form.
I normally read a book in 1 - 2 days depending on number of pages and if it’s a good story. I downloaded this app KNOWING there would be ads to unlock chapters and I had no issue with that, but it’s the ads that pop up ever other page in between the chapters that is so irritating. Some are just as long as the one you have to watch to unlock the next 3 chapters! I’m on chapter 125 so you can imagine how many ads I have already watched. And how many chapters are there? How many pages are remaining to the end of the story? I HAVE NO CLUE! The chapters are very VERY short. So how many chapters are in a book for this app? 130? 150? 200? NO, OVER 500! Needless to say, I will begrudgingly finish this book only because I want to know what happens to a few of the characters in the book, but I won’t be reading any more and will likely delete the app.
I am totally ok with watching ads to read. That is the world we live in. However having to watch ads ad for every chapter is a bit much. Then having to wait 35-45 minutes in between chapters is ridiculous…. By that time I am bored and moved on to another app. I would love to just buy a subscription but the prices are ridiculous 30 dollars a month… I would never spend that much in a month on just reading. And forcing me to auto renew is also out of the question. Would totally be ok with paying $5-10 per book…. Same as you would if you purchased the books in a store. Some people are slower readers than others, hence time subscriptions are not beneficial to them. Plus there are far too many spelling errors especially with the names of the characters. And the blog ads do not load properly have to start and quit them 3-4 times to get the benefit to be able to read one chapter.
I don’t want to get into the ongoing subscriptions on story reading/viewing apps. Most are fairly straightforward with bonuses for watching ads, doing daily checkins, BUT this one requires subscriptions or lets you read a handful of chapters of a story, then requires ads or articles to get another chapter—and then locks it for 20, 30, 35 minutes before you can watch another ad to read one chapter before it locks again. Irritating, to say the least. Oh, the coins you can accumulate from the endless ads? After you read long enough on consecutive days to suit them, they’ll let you “buy” a limited amount of “free reading” time. When I find a story/book I want to read, I just want to read it, not obligate myself to an ongoing expense nor jump through endless hoops to read it.
This app makes revenue from adds but holds itself back by having limited adds and adds that won't load. They could improve by letting us watch more adds to unlock chapters. There's apps that let us watch adds for every chapter. The reading pace is slow, there's no wait for free, and you can only watch a few adds. You can only work on one story at a time. If you watch adds to get more chapters in story 1 you can't watch more adds to read story 2. Also adds frequently don't work. I keep trying to gain an enough coins to get one day of free reading, but the bonus coins for adds never credit because the adds rarely load. For every add I get to work there's probably 20 that don't. I can't even have two adds in a row that work.
Some books have been better than others in quality, and unfinished stories are disappointing—by the time there is an update I’ve moved on. The last few have actually been pretty good (and less focused on graphic sex!). I don’t mind waiting for ads to run, it is actually helpful to remind me to stretch or take a drink of water. But the newest catch is not fair—to continue I have to follow NovelFlow on Instagram or now TikTok! I don’t use Instagram or TikTok and don’t want another social media app! I’m waiting hoping the required action changes as it did one other time (please? It is one of the best reads on here that I’ve tried). Also, I tried the audiobook book one time but couldn’t stand the AI interpretation. I’ll stick to Libby for audiobooks.
Yes the app is free to read as much as you want. I kept the app because I was hugely invested in the story that was partially advertised online. Every 2 or 3 pages of reading on the app brought 1-2 minutes of advertising which I was okay with and I had X’d out of. Free reading means you get advertising. **However, about every 5 minutes of having the app open, it would automatically try to open up my internet search engine and automatically start scanning my phone. No app should ever be able to do that. I tried everything under the sun in settings to limit the app’s capabilities. Nothing worked. Now my phone’s texting alert sound has an echo to it and texting is lagging. I think my phone has a bug now. Not sure how to fix that. Thanks for the story but not happy about the bug in my phone.
The points earned are worthless. It takes 10,000 points to get ONE day of ad-free reading. I would rather be able to apply the points to reading chapters, and certainly not 10,000 worth of points. The monetary cost is also too much for an app like this. If you don't want to buy a subscription and can't earn points fast enough, which takes forever, you can watch an ad after each chapter. But there are problems with that. The ads are nearly three minutes long. Some chapters end in the middle of a sentence, and a new chapter starts in the last half of the sentence. And some chapters are way too short. On rare occasions, I have been able to look at an article instead of watching an ad. Within 20 seconds, I am back to reading the story. The app needs to do that constantly or start letting readers end the ad after 20 seconds. I am convinced that app creators get a kickback for showing ads. If it’s true, they would still get their kickback money while letting the user end the ads early. I know other apps let users end ads early. If you like watching the same ad several times, this app is for you.
Some of the stories are quite nice. The reason for two stars is that after watching ads per chapter, sometimes the chapters are shorter than the ad watched. Lot of these stories are updated by two chapters daily and some stories end abruptly with no proper ending to them. In the categories list when it has said this is a completed story, after the story has completely got you in its grips, it is suddenly shown to be not complete and the author starts adding new chapters, again two daily and the story then drags on. The only reason I still have not deleted this app is because I’m reading one story which I’m invested in till I hopefully can read the end of before the next few years now.
This app requires allow tracking which will then lead to the owner/owners of the ads to hack into your device(viruses). Especially if they have ads that aren’t from the original game which is frustrating. I may or may not continue to read the book I downloaded the app for. It’s a good book with a couple errors but it’s not a good app to use daily for reading. I have NortonLifeLock popping up every chapter after reading 20 chapters saying I have like 17 viruses. Absolutely atrocious. Fix the allow tracking thing because nobody wants their information sold by third party’s (ad owners) because of an app owner who doesn’t care if it gets sold by third parties they allowed onto their private app. No one wants to keep watching the same ads every 2-10 minutes anyways.
This app is truly free sometimes the ads can be very annoying when they have 30-60 second ads pop up back to back. Anyway what really kinda grinds my gears is the stupid pop up ad box on the bottom of the screen. I go to turn dark mode on to help my eyes when I read at night. When I do that yes the page gets dark however that ad box on the bottom blinds me as it’s normally white and majority of the time it’s that solitaire ad. So everything on my screen will be dark and grey but that ad box. I wish the ad box would either darken as well or just go away. I watch enough ads as it is don’t really need one on the bottom of my page. It annoys me so much that I just turn my phone off and go to bed.
I appreciate that I don’t have to pay for each chapter I read unlike other apps but it’s gotten so ridiculous! You have to watch a 2 min ad on average to read 1 short chapter. Now they started adding ads when you go into the app, which they kinda fixed by adding a skip button. But why is the app restarting if my phone goes dark for a couple of minutes? I get that you have a paid subscription but $170 a year is too much when I end up starting a book then not finishing it either because the updates take too long or the story just goes on and on and on with no end in sight.
In the time you spend watching ad after ad after ad, only to read two or three pages and have to set through another ad… You are really paying for this app. I do enjoy reading this particular book or I would’ve already given up and removed this app from my phone. it is frustrating to swipe only to be met with yet another ad that you have to sit through. If I could find this book somewhere else, I would probably read it there. But, the book is full of punctuation and grammar errors, so I’m not sure the author could even get it published anywhere else. The storyline is fair, and the characters are interesting.
I won’t do this again. I watched an ad to open a chapter to read. Before I started reading, an “offer” popped up to watch 1 more ad to give 2 mins reading without ads. I had no real idea how long it took me to read a chapter but as it turns out I’m apparently a slow reader and my 2 minutes were up before I finished 1 chapter and then I still had to watch another ad to read the next chapter. So I ended up watching 1 more than I would’ve if I didn’t accept the deal. Even if I read faster and was able to read into a 2nd chapter I would essentially be watching the same number of ads just in a different reading order. So this “deal” is a joke
This app is not great. Too many ads. I got hooked on a story and want to read to the end to see how the story plays out but this will be the last I read on this app and will delete it immediately when I’m finished with this book. The ads were annoying at first but I put up with them. Now it’s telling me I cannot even watch ads to unlock the chapters! I have to wait 30 minutes between each chapter to unlock and I still have to watch an ad! They are not little 10-15 seconds ads either. These ads are minutes long. It’s ridiculous. Do not waste your time. This app is terrible.
Honestly I’m surprised that’s it FREE. The Down part is watching ads that feel like they go back to back. I understand that it’s what keeps the app running free for us avid readers but we shouldn’t be subjected to watching 3minute ads (60s back to back) if we didn’t want to. I think if we don’t want to watch the ads we should be able to pay a certain amount That should be a recurring fee every few months to dismiss ads. The other down part is the misspelling and grammar errors that will sometimes take up a full chapter… but aside from that it’s not a bad app. Will post another review at a later time.
I started reading the story on social media, then got to a point where it said every chapter was free to read! But turns out you need a membership in order to read them for free, or follow and like their social media page to continue reading for free. I don’t mind watching the ads, but what I do mind is being lied to about it being free chapters when in order to continue those chapters I have to pay a weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription! That really irritates me and I have no intentions on keeping this app when I’ve finished reading the story I’ve been reading. That’s really messed up to get someone so excited to read for free and then find out you have to pay smh.
I like the idea of watching ads in order to read chapters for free. I like that there is no limit on thd number of chapters you can read. But…the ads have gotten out of hand. It takes longer to watch the between chapter ads than it takes to read the chapters…the same ads repeat until you want to crush your phone…and now the mid-chapter ads (that you used to be able to just click past) take several seconds to click through as well. There should be a limit on the length of an ad. My phone shouldn’t go to sleep before it’s finished. And there should be a minimum on the length of a chapter as well.
They implemented a new thing where you can’t unlock too many chapters with ads in a certain amount of time. Either way, I’d watch the same amount of ads, so why am I being restricted based on how fast I watch the ads? There’s already ads at the bottom of the screen, and in between every other page where I have to sit and stair at it for 5 seconds before I can move on. I cannot watch a 90 second ad between every chapter, and then when I turn the page back to remember where I was at, get hit with another ad because I turned a certain number of pages. Let me just watch a bunch of ads back to back so I can read the books without anymore interruption than there already is.
Because I would have been highly upset to have wasted my money. I got a book that was interesting. One of the big issues is it’s a POV story and numerous people have the same story which is repeated over several chapters. It took me over 2 days to get thru 102 chapters, finding there were 180 total chapters. It had not been proofed effectively because of multiple errors. Once you are hooked, the story is issued in 2 ch segments only if you watch ads, my problem is I only got 1 ch each time and then it was not always the entire chapter. I never saw any major writers with available books. I can’t recommend it. Major waste of my time.
I started reading it today. I’m enjoying the story but almost every three pages. There is a page it comes on and you can just slide it over. There’s also an ad you have to watch. Then every three chapters you have to watch another ad. I don’t mind if I have the slip that one page ad across the page, but I do mine and add before the three chapters are done because it’s taken way too long and it interrupted almost every three minutes. This is my first book. I hope I can get through it because it is interesting it and I like it, but it might be my last.
Was really enjoying reading a book, even though the ads interrupt the flow, but just as it was getting to a good part the book just jumped - found the same book in another app and there were 5 chapters more in it than here.
Have been enjoying this platform for online reading for a good year now. Suddenly I’ve lost all my points. Also unlimited reading is no longer available. If you don’t pay you have a limited number of chapters before being blocked. I’m now prevented from reading for an hour. First time block was 10 minutes, then after a chapter it was 35 minutes. Every chapter the time increases. Why the change!
Enjoyed the app even if the ads are annoying but it stopped working after the last update so that sucks!
It keeps saying there is no internet even when there clearly is, and will load everything but the actual story… very sad.
I use to love this app. Watch an ad read a chapter. Not any more. You can read a couple chapters then wait. Then read another chapter and wait 30 minutes. Read a chapter wait 35 minutes. I get they want you to buy a membership for free reading. But $20 weekly so $80 a month is ridiculous. Books are ok but typical ppc books. Some are great books but still not worth the price asked. Other subscription reading apps are cheaper but $60 or more a month with edited/grammar checked reads.
I used to love this app until it suddenly started crashing every few chapters and freeze up my iPhone making it so hard to read
You watch ads to get points but the points don’t let you unlock chapters. Another scam app.
App is freezing a lot
I like the stories and I don’t mind ads instead of having to purchase coins. But when I spend more time watching ads then reading it becomes an issue. I loose interest in the story and move to different app with shorter ads
I subscribed to this with my bank information and when I wanted to cancel it says I have to cancel through PayPal. It refuses to let me cancel any other way. I can’t cancel through PayPal as I’ve never used PayPal to pay for the subscription. I’m very mad about this and will be reporting to my bank as a fraudulent charge.
I’m still getting charged a subscription fee even after cancelling.
Update: After much effort, I was able No way to cancel the subscription but I had to contact them directly via email - it was very stressful and time consuming. Beware of these difficulties if you choose to subscribe. No way to cancel subscription! Says payment was made through PayPal but no way to cancel through mayoral as there is no record of the transaction despite the transaction being processed!! I don’t even have my credit card linked to PayPal!
So many ads after very short chapters totally lost interest in book I was trying to read. I am deleting the app!
