Hide distractions on websites such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, LinkedIn, Gmail and take back control of your attention!
While we acknowledge the distracting and engrossing nature of these sites, completely blocking them is not always feasible due to the valuable content they offer.
This Safari extension allows you to selectively hide attention-grabbing components on each site. For instance, on YouTube, you have the option to conceal recommended videos, shorts, comments, and more. Similarly, on Facebook and Instagram, you can hide the feed, reels, stories, and other elements. The same goes for each supported site.
Furthermore, SocialFocus offers an array of supplementary features, including Startup Settings, Import / Export and more.
Users who want to support the development of the project can additionally subscribe to the PRO version. The PRO version will give access to some additional features that are not available in the standard version, such as hotkey configuration, settings synchronization and some others.
NOTE: This extension does NOT work with the apps, it works only for websites while using the Safari browser.

Works great, needs syncing/account managementThis app is great, thank you. The ability to optionally sync between my devices and between Safari profiles would be very useful. Currently I need to manually configure 4 devices * 4 Safari profiles * 6 websites = 96 config menus to fill out. The recent update added more options while breaking previously set configurations. Expecting users to do this once, let alone after each non-backwards compatible update, is unreasonable. Edit: The PRO subscription is essentially required if you use Safari profiles, unless you need want configure literally thousands of menu options. Also, "Hide Subreddit Feed" now hides reddit comments as well on macOS Safari..Version: 5.4
So appreciative of thisMy mental health, my free time and my pocket book all thank you. Because of this app I’m reclaiming my time in order to study for an exam that will help me improve my income and improve my life situation. I also have so many goals that I don’t engage with because of scrolling on FB and Twitter in particular. I am so glad this is out there because I have been looking for something that works on mobile and for apps. I’ve used an extension blocking my FB feed on my laptop in the past but have been looking for one for these purposes as it’s where I have the easiest access to apps and waste the most time. $3 price made it justifiable to try out and I’ll highly recommend it to all looking to reclaim there time from the horrible habit of addictive scrolling that these social media companies have engineered. Good but no one seems to be able to crack FaceBookI was so happy the developer released this, as I have been using his other app, Untrap and it is a blessing. App seems to work well so far for most things, but unfortunately FaceBook still manages to break through with its algorythim pumping random stuff to my main feed. Been searching for an app that can defeat FaceBook for a long time now. If you ever manage to pull it off, I'll give 5 stars and go pro..Version: 4.7
Great app, one request please!The app is great, works as said. I've blocked home screens of social media and it's great I can still use the necessary messaging parts without the distractions. One request: can you also make an option to hide facebook marketplace. With everything gone I find myself sometimes scrolling through marketplace for no reason. Having it blocked would be great. Amazing for everything but XI’ve had this app for a few days now and it’s been working as expected and advertised, but the only issue is I can’t even open the plugin when i’m on the X website. I then tired to open it on another tab which worked but none of the options I toggle for X work. other than that it’s been amazing for instagram..Version: 6.2

Works great but running into bugApp has been amazing for my attention and so so helpful. However I’ve been seeing an issue recently where I have to go on safari extension settings and turn on and off the extension manually for the blocks to kick in. Then it will be kicked in for a while like a few days before it somehow disables and I have to redo the process.Version: 5.6
WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFEI have been saying for years how I wish I could use instragram or other apps, but block certain aspects like their stupid doom scroll algorithm… this app has saved my life. Reddit blocks weaker since the last update?I love this app… very nifty and probably the most effective “block” I’ve had vs the pricier subscription based blockers. However, it seems since the last update the Reddit blocks are a lot weaker … I’m able to see related posts, and the subreddit feed which I’d rather not see….Version: 4.1

Does exactly what I needed it to do!Great app and definitely worth $3. I had already deleted instagram and youtube apps, but didn’t want to get rid of them completely so I check them occasionally through Safari. This app works as a safari extension only. It stops me from getting sucked down a rabbit hole of instagram reels/explore page or youtube shorts/random recommended videos that I really don’t need to be watching. However, it still lets me preserve the functionality of these sites (keeping up with friends and intentionally searching for/watching certain videos). So glad someone invented this! My only complaint is that it does require access to all of your browsing data etc, which does strike me as a bit of a privacy issue. Perhaps this is necessary for the app to function, but I hope that this access to my data is not being abused..Version: 6.3

Exactly what I neededI use the web version of YouTube and Reddit too much, and this deletes the home page of those so I can’t scroll anymore. Good app possible bugsI downloaded this app and untrap for YouTube. Had no issues with untrap and am very pleased. When using social focus I did notice that on Facebook when the extension is enabled my feed will show about three posts and then at the bottom it says loading more but nothing ever loads. I don’t believe it’s an issue with my connection or anything because when the extension is disabled this doesn’t happen. Otherwise great app I can already tell this will cut down my mindless YouTube scrolling..Version: 6.4

If you want to be productive GET this appI never write review, but within 10 mins of using this app function I can see how this app is going to change my productivity and focus!! To give you context on my desktop I have a chrome extension that blocks newsfeeds on all social media even one that pauses Netflix auto play feature. I’m that person who’s done many social media detox and I feel great after however in this modern world, especially in my generation, the way you are social and up to date on everything is through social media and the internet. But EVERYTHING on the internet is designed to make you addicted and keep coming back, even if you use it for education purpose like YouTube. I literally get nothing done. This app is heaven sent! I love that I can go on social media sites and YouTube ( through safari. don’t even have these apps on my phone) and not fall into my addictive pattern of doom scrolling. Super helpful for blocking specific features on certain sites!This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! Something similar to Unhook on YouTube (Chrome extension), where you can hide certain features to help have a healthier relationship with social media. I love how customizable and how effective it is. The only thing that would make this 100% for me would be to also have the feature to block certain sites at certain times of day, like in your other app UnTrap for YouTube! That one is amazing - I’d love to be able to access parts of the platform sometimes during the day but block it automatically and completely at night. YouTube problemsI don’t usually write reviews, but I’m finding some weird problems that should be known. First, I’m forced to disable autoplay when removing thumbnails, or I start hearing audio from the topmost video without meaning to listen to it. Second, when hiding Shorts, it looks like my history still has a bunch of Shorts watched. I don’t watch shorts, so it’s a weird behavior. Im unable to use some of the YouTube premium features like one that lets me listen to a video with my phone locked, or watch a video on one device and continue on another. The app does what it says it does, which seems to me like commenting out portions of YouTube’s HTML/CSS. The YouTube shorts thing is weird. I’m probably going to revert to my browsing experience as it was. Wish this worked with Chrome as Safari is really cumbersome.Version: 6.0
