Love it, just one improvementLove the simplicity of this app but I really mostly use it for the daily audio podcasts since I like to get up and do my morning routine while listening to the news. The commentators doing the podcast sound like they’re having a natural conversation which makes it fun to listen to. The main problem is that the daily podcasts are uploaded at really inconsistent times (sometimes even later in the day) so sometimes there are mornings where I don’t have anything to listen to. I wish they would have a consistent schedule to release the recordings. Also, one minor feedback is that it gets pretty tedious to have the commentators repeat the app objective of “cutting through the noise” of information overload every time. It’s obvious that we came to this app to avoid that so we don’t really need to be told that over and over again. Otherwise, I’m really glad this app exists!.Version: 4.3.0
Great app, responsive developerI downloaded this app with the goal of trying to replace Artifact. While it doesn’t quite scratch the same itch, I’ve really enjoyed using this app and seeing it grow over the few months that I’ve had it downloaded. At some point I emailed the developer with some bugs and feature requests and to my shock I actually received an email back the same day expressing gratitude for using the app and providing feedback. I’ve since seen the bugs squashed and feature requests implemented! As for the actual function of the app, it works wonderfully and manages to aggregate many sources into a couple detailed paragraphs, which is really handy for getting a bigger picture glimpse at news stories. Oh also, the fact that the app doesn’t track you is amazing.Version: 4.01
Something Long OverdueThe political climate has seemed to have gotten more and more divergent now that it’s easier than ever for many news headlines to reach mass amounts of viewers. Many of which showing bias, omitting crucial information, and pushing agendas. It’s incredibly hard nowadays to find unbiased news that allow you to form your own opinion. This app has exactly that—unbiased, concise news that brings you the basic information you need to think for yourself. All free of charge! This is something we’ve needed for a long time. Wish they had an ipad version!I love the simplicity of this app. The interface is very clean, not cluttered, no ads, and the news itself is very easy to read and understand. There isn’t unnecessary details in the articles that take forever to read. Just love how easy it is to navigate through this app. I use my iPad every morning to read and would love if they improved the compatibility with iPadOS though! Sanity in trying timesThis is the best way I’ve found to stay current on the news without destroying my nervous system. Much better than social media, Reddit, etc because it presents the information without the emotional comments. It’s also limited- you read a couple minutes of news, and that’s it. Much better than going down a million rabbit holes. I need info, but panic doesn’t support problem solving and the clear thinking needed to handle what’s going on. A great way to break down newsI was struggling to find a news app that was unbiased and gave relevant information. This app breaks down the top 10 biggest headlines and puts it in an easy to read format. I can read more if I want to, but keeps me from scrolling endlessly for information that isn’t necessary for me to know and stress about. The Audio feature of the app is great if you want to stay updated while doing other things. Great summariesIn order to stop watching so much news and wasting time, I download 1440. I’ve been enjoying the excellent summaries and the little extras they throw in to each day’s feed. The fact that they site their news sources is a big plus and I feel like they’re pretty objective about what’s going on. I use it daily..Version: 4.3.0
Really good app, but one annoyance.This app is almost perfect imo, but the one thing that drives me nuts are the Wikipedia links in “Today In History”. For example.. if it’s talking about a certain wwii mission or talking about people being arrested for some sort of crime in Texas, a lot of the time it would just pull up the Wikipedia for wwii. Or pull up the Wikipedia for Texas. If it’s possible to narrow the links for Wikipedia down the the subject matter of what happened on that day it would be 5/5 stars for me..Version: 3.6.0
