Having downloaded the app again and making the location changes, I am still nagged with a pop-up error, "No Location. Access to location denied! Check Settings." Another issue is that wave height info is missing from most buoys I've checked along the eastern shore. NOAA comparisons show the data (just not provided from within the app). Best App for the Professional MarinerAs a yacht delivery captain who delivered vessels all over the world, this app has been my go-to marine weather resource. I have bought other apps that claim to be NOAA Data Buoy but fail miserably in provide NOAA textual data. Great app.This is a great app. I work on tug boats and have to cross the Gulf of Alaska on a regular basis. This app makes getting the bouy reports and forcasts WAY easier then navigating NOAA's site. One thing that would be nice is a search function so you can type in a bouy's number or name, instead of having to increase the distance from your location till the bouy you want comes up. Also don't listen to the people that give this app a low score as most of them don't realize that NOAA only puts these bouy's offshore. Buoys IncompleteThe app is excellent. The data is not as rich as the buoy web data, but it is up to date. The app comes with some buoys preloaded on the map, I had to find my local buoy via the link provided and select it, after which it appeared as a pin on the buoy map. Great but (follow up RPT)I reported yesterday that the program would not load. Turns out was a bug in my 3G iPhone. The program was A--OK all along. I go offshore fishing the Texas coast every week. I use Buoy Data before every trip. Sometimes I'll use NOAA WX on the computer, but actually, I can get everything I want and need faster right here. Wow! Great Program!Wow! I love the version 4 update. The screens are much easier to navigate, and I really like the thumbnail view of each station. The map views are much faster and display better too. The addition of tides is a huge plus and made it so I didn't need a separate tide app. I also like that the speed of rivers are included. It was very easy to find the weather stations and buoys close to my location and then build a list of favorites for future reference. The page for each buoy gave the major categories of wind, wave and weather information. The link to the NOAA buoy home page makes for quick reference to the graphs for wave heights trends. Link to NOAAThis app is terrific. Current conditions at the buoy plus an easy link to the National Weather Service Forecast for the area encompassing that buoy. Just tap the Wave or Cloud icon and shezaaam. The link provides the current dynamic radar map and the 5-day forecast for the Zone, including wave height, wind speed & direction. Good simple solid appI use this all the time. It's accurate and easy to use. Actually reports buoy data so there is no prediction, it's fact. I have sat next to bout 10 miles offshore and temp and swell dead on. I wish it did some swell map predictions and some SST predictions but I doesn't that I can find. Excellent; Maybe Life-SavingThis app provides ship reports of actual conditions around me in the Bahamas. When the weather is supposed to deteriorate, or when I don't trust the forecast (which is often) I use this app to find out what is really happening. When the forecaster calls for a front with winds, say, in the 20-25kt range, I get the ship reports sorted by distance to see if it is better or worse than expected. Frequently, I have seen ship reports of winds far in excess of the predictions. The map view allows me to follow the front as it approaches and to check whether a report likely represents a localized squall or a general condition on the other side of the front. This allows me to take precautions like setting another anchor, or reefing the sails, or finding sheltered harbour. The data is presented very well. I have tried to find it directly at NOAA, but with no success. It is pretty challenging to pick a few reports out of a long tabular list of NOAA data when the weather's getting bad at sea. The map function is critical. Admittedly, you do have to have Internet access on your boat to use this, but that is becoming much cheaper and more readily available. This is the only weather app that allows me to easily check actual conditions. I use it almost every day..JemnVersion: 4.5

Has potential but needs workDoes a good job of summarizing buoy data from buoys near you. The link to "Show Original Article" takes you to the official NOAA buoy web site which DOES have a map of the buoys on it. Unfortunately, there's no back button anywhere - not on the station data screen nor on the linked web page screen. So you can't get from the station data back to the list of buoys nor properly browse the actual NOAA buoy web site, nor return to the data summary screen from the NOAA site, without using the "Reload" button. That's the same a starting the app again. They should add a back button. Or, at least, have an option to open the "Original Article" in the built-in web browser instead of in this crippled environment. You may find it easier to simply use Safari to access the NOAA site and add links to the buoys you use most..Zak & DonnaVersion: 0

This app just links you to the NOAA website and really does not display anything I could not find with safari. Some other buoy apps actually show the buoy date they are collecting and graph that data in the app itself, not just link you to NOAA's website.
