Disappointingly, there are only a small handful of apps that feature the Lunyu (AKA The Analects of Confucius) in the App Store, and this one is by far the best. Easy to read, search through, and save important passages. I regularly use it when I’m away from my hard copy. I just wish it had more Confucian classics
This app. is by far the best collection of Asian texts, at least in English, offered by iTunes. If you like The Art of War or The Prince then you must read Musashi's Book of Five Rings. Beautiful illustrations, landscape capable and multiple options make these books an enjoyable read. I highly recomend this app. for both the beginner and expert. I hope to see more books added in the future. Huang's Numerology of the I Ching absolutely deserves to be in this app. It throughly explains the basics of Asian thought and divination providing an excellent basis for understanding all other works in this app. Huang also has the best available translation of the I Ching to date. Other future additions I'd like to see are: The Journey to the West, Tang and Song Poetry, and traditional texts used for divination (besides I Ching). Maybe even a book on calligraphy or at least some examples of it. Good work Alexandru Brie!
It's one of those games that comes along in years and you remember it for a lifetime, like monkey island, day of the tentacle and full throttle. I'll call him Randy the emotional robot. User friendly 8/10 Game play 8/10 Graphics - 10/10 Music - 10/10 Originality - 10/10 I haven't figured out the storyline yet, I guess that's one of the best parts, the game unfolds with each puzzle you solve and gets challenging with ever evolving puzzles. Obviously it's one hell of an original idea. I don't have to repeat this but this game is essential for iPad owners. I can't answer as to why it's not released for ipad1. Those guys who are having a challenging time if the game keeps shutting down or not loading, firstly, delete some apps you don't use, free up some space, let the iPad breathe. Secondly double tap the home button and shutdown the extra running apps. Frees up iPads mind to focus on running the game smoothly. Thirdly, update the game if there are or were any updates. Fourthly, sit back and enjoy the game. My best moment: the sad dude in the prison. Try talking to him :) My best music part : telescope and watch room right before you step out into the open. My best scene : clock tower area. I'd love to have a painting like that! Awesome awesome! Pros : addictive, cheaper then the pc version. Cons : challenging puzzle can eat up your good neurons. Things needed. A good weekend, some juice, a good headset:)
I'm begining to recognize Alex's signature all over the AppStore. When I ran into a simple, useful and clean app I know it has to be from Alex. As usual this app is very easy to use. It has a frendly interface and it's very intuitive. Reading is very confortable and you have many useful instruments: bookmarks, jump from a chapter to another, and also you can set up the application to take you right where you left the reading. Clever huh? I have to admit that I'm not such a fan of reading in english but the collection is great and all the asian culture lovers will find in here all the representatives books! It will become boring to add my congrats to Alex all over again. But the good work has to be apreciate alway. So, great work and I suggest to buy this collection also!
This app seems to be well thought out, very easy to read. Definately worth the paltry sum of it's purchase. Lots of features and there seem to be regular updates. This is one of the better apps I have purchased, you will not be disappointed.

This app is great, I read all these books a couple a times a month, so can't beat having them all under one app, thank you great additions to this collection would be the Hagakure and the Art Of Peace
'cause this app will do the rest :) If "Bushido" , "Confucius" , "Tao Teh King" and many more ring a bell, then you know what this is all about. If not, I recommend you install this handy app to keep you company when you just want a ride down the "ancient culture" lane. Zen out!
Great books to read. Sure, nothing beats a true book, but who wants to lug around a whole collection of books when you have them all in something no bigger than one book.
As a Buddhist this is an excellent app to have for those times you want something to read to help you with your practice. For those not familiar with Asian literature this is a great place to start.
A collection of books that could and should be read over and over again. Each reading brings about deeper understanding.
I have had this app for a couple of years - the updates are always more improvements - and I havent finished all the books yet - the premium packs are only 2.99 a fair price thanks guys !
One of the best eastern philosophy compilations for iPhone/iPad by far. Such a great collection that could cost a lot of money but doesn't. If you are thinking about getting this then do it :)
This is good I really only got this App for The Book of Five Rings. I really don't like the translations for Tao De Ching or the Art of War. Other than that I like how the app reads. The updates on this app were great.
Though I do wish you could mark or make your own collection.
Impressed with the aesthetic quality of the eBooks. The portability of the collection is worth the price of the app. Now we need to have some major works by Dogen Zenji.
This app is awesome and you can't beat the price! Also, Thanks for adding another book to the collection.
Good app I love eastern philosophy hope you have more updates and books to looking forward to then keep up the great work.
My family and I Love this app. We Always check it daily. Keep up the great work!
First ap review. Great insight on Asia for thinkers. Get it! No regrets. The essays on tea were insightful. Thanks for making these works available in this grouping!
It's wonderful collection of books for fantastic price.
Easy to read, good translation, user friendly UI = the things I've been looking for!
For those of you who understand and appreciate the Tao, get this app and enjoy.
While this is a cursory introduction to Eastern thought, but good overview for the money. I do recommend it. Great to read while you only have a few minutes to " be mindful."
Everyone with an interest should have this app.
Outstanding !!! Great to have these in the palm of your hand. Really nice to be able to read the wisdom provided.
Good to have when I'm on the train to work in the morning or home at night. Sets your mind at ease
It's a very pleasant change to be surprised on the upside with an app. Thanks for doing such a great job with this!
Great selection! Could not believe my luck when I stumbled upon your app.
Just wish there were slightly better translations.
Easy to use. Great bookmark feature. Nice lay out.
Wish you would include other great works time to time
Wonderful app. Works well and a very nice collection all in one app. Well done.
Great bargain. Worth every cent and the wisdom you can gain from looking at another's culture is priceless.
Incredible layout, superb content!!!
An accessible collection of eastern philosophy, free of spelling errors and supported by a technically proficient app.
Exactly what I wanted when i ordered the app. Thanks guys for a great collection
If you like Asia and/or the writings of major philosophers ... then this is the app for you. Great UI and very responsive.
Tremendous value. Easy to use. Great selection of titles. Well done.
Great book choices for anyone who wants the core of Asian writings to start with.
What can I say? One app has all.
As a student of Asian culture, I refer to this frequently. Excellent on-the-go resource. I read Sun Tzu in Beijing.
The best translations and most beautiful texts.
Excellent app. Great to have such knowledge available and compiled in one app. The masters would be very pleased!!
Very enlightening while clear and understandable. Highly recommended for the curious.
Just what I needed, when I needed it.
I really enjoy quotes and words of wisdom. When I remember to read them I sincerely enjoy all.
Very soothing
Yup!
Thank you very much guys
Very good! The app is well formatted and the books are just great. Well worth the dollar.
I love it! I love it! Please keep adding new titles! Great deal of knowledge for such a small price. Thanks a lot!
It puts me in a good space, - very 'zen' in my opinion, and I think it is beautifully done, and I enjoy it when I want quiet moments to just enter another world
Can you add some books by Yagyu Munenori, one book is called the way of the living sword (great philosophy on the way of the samurai during Edo period around 400 years old)? Also the book Bushido the way of the samurai by Yamamoto Tsunetomo (very old book on philosophy of samurai). Looking forward to more of your updates.
Nicely done
For 99c it's a good deal but there are a lot of typos and spelling mistakes. Could be more professional looking.
Any hope of getting the five rings novel?
Asia Wisdom Collection - Universal App Negative Reviews and Ratings
Good concept but James Legge's translation of the Tao Te Ching is by far the worst translation available. I have in text form probably 20 English translations of this text so I think may be a fair judge. I understand that because of its age, this may be the only one you can use without paying for it, but if you can find even one other version, it will be better than his. I downloaded this app for the Tao Te Ching and was disappointed to see this version. At the least you should mention in the description which translators are being used for each text. Other recommendations would be the Dhammapada, Faith in Mind (hsin hsin ming), the Platform Sutra, Diamond Sutra, Lotus Sutra, The Chuang Tzu, Robert Blyth's translations of 101 Zen Stories and Bassho's poetry. Cheers.
This is a simple but nicely executed app. All these books are out there and you can find them and download ,them for free. But this take the work out of it.
Wish they would let us know or take it off purchases. Doubt if I'll get my money back but hoping to save others from this ripoff. Should be -10 stars for misleading and outright theft.
These very out of date translations are available free elsewhere--look around!
Why wont this app open at all??
