Peekaboo Forest App Comments & Reviews

Peekaboo Forest Positive Reviews

Love it!I just purchased this app today for our 3 year old, and she loves it! I love that you can record your own voice saying the names of the animals. We recorded her siblings saying the names, and it has only added to her delight when the animal is named. The app is quiet, peaceful, and very pleasant to look at. The graphics are lovely and simple. The noises are realistic and calm, not over the top and loud. We look for apps that are not so overly stimulating for our kids, and this one fit the bill perfectly. Very happy! The one thing that I hope is improved in the future is ease of navigation. There is no easy way to go back, forward, or stay on a page if you like. Other than that, no complaints!.Version: 1.5.0

5 Stars are not enough for this great app for kids of all agesA must-have for any Charley Harper fans, this app is sheer delight for kids of all ages. My 10-year old daughter loved it instantly and wouldn't give it back. She especially loved that she could switch it to Spanish so she could learn all the Spanish words for the seasons and the animals. It's a great touch to have a kid's voice as the primary audio. Charley Harper's illustrations are ideal for this kind of app! Can't wait for the sequel!!.Version: 1.1.0

We love Charley Harper!Got PABF and other apps (some by Night & Day as well) for my 1 year old and was really bummed when there was no sound. Apple didn't help and recommended contacting app developer...Dave totally helped me figure it out and now I have more sound on my iPad than I know what to do with! There is not many animals, but kids LOVE the repetition. Thanks Night & Day!.Version: 1.1.1

Great for language building!I love using this app in speech therapy. The kids love it and it almost feels open-world, like you can just explore. Each scene has several animal friends to find, which you see with the rustling of leaves or a tail behind a stump. You can ask what questions, label animals, imitate the sounds your hear, and more! I highly recommend this app!.Version: 1.6.0

Soothing Interactive StoryDespite what everyone says, This is my FAVORITE Peekaboo App! It's serene and soothing--more of an open, interactive "book" than the somewhat redundant open-close door in Peekaboo Barn. Plus--it's lovely on the iPad. This program invites children to look, listen for and find the animals of the forest. Beautiful, natural scenes and seasons (where's Winter?), and charming little animated critters. My 19mo loves it!.Version: 1.1.0

Nice app!I almost didn't buy this because the reviews were not as good as Peekaboo Barn. I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. In my opinion, this app is much better than Barn. This app has more animation and I love the different backgrounds instead of looking at the one dumb barn. Also, better suited for the animals we see in our background..Version: 1.2.1

Pretty good. The drawings are really nice and I really like that it includes the seasons but the animals are not as prominent as they should be since it is geared toward smaller children who are learning the look and names of animals. In the other peekaboo games such as barn and wild, the animal is revealed and is the largest thing in the picture. in this one, a young child might easily miss the mouse or the frog. Not so great as a teaching tool, but my 20 month old daughter still likes it..Version: 1.1.0

Bravo!!Hands down the most beautiful & enchanting (as well as modern) graphic design of the three tried, true, & best beloved peekaboo apps from this studio! Bravo!! My 2 year-old is entertained & engaged for hours with the peekaboo apps- has been for a year and I suspect will be for another at least!.Version: 1.1.1

Great book!If you are a Charley Harper fan this book is a MUST have! Done beautifully! Entertaining! A great way to introduce my son to one of my favorite artist. Even if you don't have kids it's still fun to skim through...I think I've read it more than my son has..Version: 1.1.1

Beautiful, Not Barn or WildGraphics are gorgeous but the sound cues before selection were sparse. It seems a bit short as well. I still love the Spanish option. I would be very impressed if they had a Spanish Child voice. My children respond more enthusiastically if the hear children's voices..Version: 1.1.0

Fantastic!I liked barn and wild a lot, but forest takes these apps to a whole new level. The art is beautiful and sophisticated and yet my 2 year old daughter appreciates it as much as I do. Bottom line: if you have little kids, get it now!.Version: 1.2.0

BeautifulYes, I agree it isn't as much fun for my 2 year old as Peekaboo Barn, but... The art by Charley Harper is beautiful, he animations are cute, and the kids voices are adorable. It still is a quality app compared to some of the other kid junk out there..Version: 1.1.1

Best app ever!!!How luck that this was the first app I purchased for my lil man! Think I love it more than he does, so far, he's 7 months. I love that they used realistic sounds, the names of the animal is visual and spoken and the voices of children tops it off. Great app and I'll be looking for more like this..Version: 1.5.0

Cute app for kidsThis is cute for kids...it's not very long. My 3 year old was throughly entertained and enjoyed it. The child's voice on it is better than the one on peek-a-boo barn, to me she pronounces things better..Version: 1.0.0

Peekaboo ForestThis is a beautifully done app. The art work is lovely, interesting things happen to move a child along the discovery and the ability to record your voice is very creative!.Version: 1.5.0

Wonferful! The art is fantastic! It could have been longer, even a toddlers attention span is longer than this. BUT overall, I really enjoyed this app and love sharing beautiful art with my child..Version: 1.2.1

Cute but not as good as othersI thought this app would b similar to the Peekaboo Wild and Barn but it wasn't. I should have looked closer but I just assumed and ordered it. The graphics are so beautiful but they r broken up by season and some are pretty small and hard to really see. It will b nice for when my son is older but I think I wasted money on it..Version: 1.1.1

Nice appThis is another nice app. Images of animals can be small, so maybe it's more suited to the iPad. My only critique is that the start button is the wrong color. Barn and wild use green start buttons, forest uses a red one instead. This is confusing for my son..Version: 1.1.0

Beautiful graphicsWe love Peekaboo Barn and Peekaboo Wild, so when the forest one came out we had to download it right away. The graphics are gorgeous and my 2-year-old loves the new animals..Version: 1.0.0

Expected more after peekaboo barn & peekaboo wildWe (I and my 2 year old) loved the peekaboo barn and peekaboo wild apps, got the forest...ehmmmm...it's not bad, but why did they change the voice over from cute little kid to a female voice from the evening news? dunno...we definitely liked the kid's voice better..Version: 1.1.1

Great app for 1-3 yr oldsMy son has loved this app, we got it when he was about 18 months old, and is now almost 24 months, and still loves it, and all the other peekaboo (barn, etc).Version: 1.1.0

Hooray for Peekaboo Forest App !!!I absolutely LOVE the Peekaboo Forest App. Huge thumbs up to the developers, the graphics and functionality are fantastic....also LOVE the voice ! Absolutely buy this App, your little ones will LOVE it..Version: 1.0.0

Cute, but slightly more difficult than the othersThis app is adorable - we have both Peekaboo Farm and Wild. My two year old adores them. However, Forest features smaller, less visible creatures that make it harder for a young child to tap with their fingers or see on the screen. That's the only drawback..Version: 1.1.1

Beautiful, howeverUnlike Peekaboo Barn and Wild, which feel better aimed at an under two crowd, this version is a little too nuanced to be as engrossing. Our eager likes it, just differently. Also, a particular gripe: Why is there a frog in the winter season? All other animals seem seasonally appropriate. Please change this..Version: 1.2.1

Love It!!!I am in love with this app! The graphics and illustrations are beautiful with a distinct sophisticated style. I love the real jungle feel and overall calm atmosphere while you hunt for animals. I highly recommend this app.Version: 1.5.0

Toddler's favoriteMy 21-month-old loves this app, even more than Peekaboo Barn. He sways to the music and giggles when the animals appear..Version: 1.1.1

Stick with peek a boo barnI am a special education prek teacher. My students have very limited speech. They love love love peek a boo barn and will do the animal sounds. Peek a boo forest while still cute is not as good. The animals are harder to find and my students can't be as independent with this one. Disappointing..Version: 1.1.1

No menu, choiceThis app is not as easy to use, you don't get to choose where to go. The animals are too small to see well. i love Charlie Harper, but these animals do a disservice to his illustrations. No real interaction for child to feel engaged. Disappointed.Version: 1.5.0

Well crafted! This latest app is beautifully done....the graphics and the means of interaction are so well crafted. I love it!.Version: 1.0.0

Not as good as the othersI really like many of the other Night & Day studios apps for my toddler. This one doesn't hold his attention. Maybe its because is less familiar animals....Version: 0

Wonderful Addition to the series! The new artwork brings a fresh new visual style... the kids are loving it!.Version: 1.0.0

Skews older than barn and wildUnlike peekaboo barn and wild, some of the critters are too small for the youngest kids (15 months) to see (iPhone and iPod touch), but the older ones (3, 5, and me!) like the pictures a lot more.Version: 1.2.0

Pretty, but not engaging for toddlersMy 16 month old twins love Peekaboo Barn & Wild but Forest doesn't keep their attention. Sometimes it's very hard to find the hiding animal which defeats the purpose of the game. Also needs better sounds....Version: 1.1.1

Good app, but not what was expectedI'm looking forward to the next peekaboo that is like Barn and Wild. My son really enjoys those. This one was to difficult for him to understand..Version: 1.1.0

Awesome! The 'Peekaboo' apps are awesome! My 16 month old boy loves them! We listen to them over and over again! Well worth the money!.Version: 1.1.1

StunningI'm a huge Charlie Harper fan, and I love peekaboos barn and wild. I stare at this app myself quite a bit. Soothing, like a zen garden.,.Version: 1.1.0

Pretty but mehBeautifully designed but needs more to it. My 20 month old got bored after 2 rounds through the seasons..Version: 1.1.1

My 10 month old loves this app.I love it too, plus the music is nice & calm..Version: 1.1.1

Good app for toddlersUnlike the previous two ratings, I really like this app. It is most appropriate for very young children, but my two-year-old loves to go through it over an over again. He can now guess which animal will pop up and names them all. It may not be an app for everybody, but I think it's important to remember that it is labeled as a "book", not as a game. It is calming and encourages my child to focus quietly, rather than being too over-stimulating for him. The illustrations are exceptionally beautiful for an app, as well. In the original app, Peekaboo Barn, you are able to record your voice or your child's voice reading the animal names. This app does not allow for that, which is the only thing keeping me from giving it a 5-star rating..Version: 1.1.1

10 month old enjoys itWorks well among your arsenal of things to keep them busy when you've got to wait.Version: 1.1.0

Love the look and the idea!Would like to see a new version with randomization so the child is surprised and more interaction. But the graphics and sound are lovely and a nice change from other, more obnoxious preschool apps..Version: 1.1.0

LovelyMy one year old daughter loves this app. I can't speak for older children, but the simple input scheme (tap anywhere on the screen to advance) allows this to be the first digital toy she has meaningful interactions with. It's also educational and beautiful, which makes it all the more pleasant to "play" it with her. (I personally find most apps aimed at toddlers to be poorly done and kind of painful.) For people complaining about the length, it's true it lasts only about five minutes -- but my daughter often wants to play it a couple times in a row, and has played it almost every day for over a month. Not a bad deal for a little pleasant, quiet time together..Version: 1.1.0

Pretty goodMy 2.5 year old enjoys this. I think it would be better if the interaction were a bit more complex but my son doesn't seem to mind the simplicity. The illustrations and sounds are very nicely done / not garish..Version: 1.1.0

It's a hitIf your child loves the other peek-a-boo apps they will also love this one..Version: 1.0.0
