The Atlantic Magazine App Comments & Reviews

The Atlantic Magazine Positive Reviews

Okay app - but could be greatI am a long time subscriber to The Atlantic. I still get the print magazine but honestly do most of my Atlantic reading electronically. I was really excited when I first got the app, but have only been frustrated since. First, it is the most unintuitive app I think I have used in a long time. Having to dig 3 to 4 steps down to even find the magazine edition. It shouldn’t be an expedition to find the most recent magazine. I understand having the feed to read popular articles, but the joy of The Atlantic is “paging” through the magazine to read different articles that I wouldn’t typically click on in a news feed. Second, SEARCH. How can there not be a search function??? Search is one of the most useful reasons to read newspapers and magazines in electronic format. Please, please, please add search function. Third, Font Size. I can’t be alone in the demographics of The Atlantic subscribers in needing glasses or larger fonts to read comfortably. This is probably the second biggest reason to read content electronically instead of the print version. Please add the ability to adjust the size of the font. I still enjoy The Atlantic and think it is one of the best sources for in depth analysis of current events and culture. However, until these issues are addressed I will probably continue to link to The Atlantic on the internet instead of through the app..Version: 6.1.2

Why is it so hard to use this app?I love the Atlantic. If I tell you I‘ve been reading it since James Fallows was a rookie, a few of you may know how long that’s been. A long time. The Atlantic has successfully negotiated the transition to the internet when so many of its peers have stumbled. The magazine still offers top notch long form journalism and the past few years it has tried to resurrect its role as a venue for high quality fiction and poetry, too. The web site is a treasure trove of innovative commentary and news that complements “newspaper” sites. The politics, economics, and science reports are invaluable for me. The problem is the app. I recently tried to renew my subscription through it, but the app would have none of that. I had to cancel and resubscribe, I discovered after a long and particularly unenlightening exchange with customer service. These days the app just forgets my subscription information every few days and I have to go through a rigamarole to get it to allow me to see anything. Customer service says to delete the app and reinstall it. They point out that a will lose my list of saved articles when I do that. I’d say, “no problem, I only have a few articles on my saved list,” but how do I re-save them after I reinstall? There is no search feature to allow me to find them. My advice: read the Atlantic, but do it from the website!.Version: 7.1.1

Big tech writer Charlie WarzelLet's get this straight from the start: My hopes in technology dimmed with the passing of Steve Jobs. Since Steve died, hope for the good outcome of digital technology slowly died with the loss of Jobs. Warzel's writing is at a near-genius level because as his article "There Never Was a Plan" ( on the tariffs manhunt) shows, Big Tech supporters of the Administration produce more harm than simply misinformation, or even conspiracy. Their lies are like video games the Gen Z generation likes to play, feeling especially their might of masculinity in mastering the Art of Winning. Like online video games (and sports betting), this digital fantasy deniers deny material, physical and social reality. In doing so, the misuse of digital knowledge robs humanity; and those of us who still believe, just a little in the values of our Republic, feel less and less human. Overpowered by robots and algorithms. Charlie unpacks all of this craziness from the Techbros..Version: 7.5.8

Thanks for the fax sAt a moment in history when anybody can make up nonsense and call it facts, whether it be in science, the economy or any other quantifiable matter, the Atlantic still stands for the concept that reality survives itself. They still insist reporters provide quantifiable facts to support their statements unless it is a pure opinion piece. The Catholic Church put Copernicus in jail for saying the sun, not the Earth, was the center of the solar system but at the end of the day he was proven correct. The Atlantic is not a church but a place you go to sort through real facts to form your own opinions. I am hoping the same thing will happen with this administration because beliefs are not facts and reality will survive itself. Hopefully we will not all lose all our savings as the economy tanks or our lives as RFK leads us back to treating plaque with leeches! Thanks for your hard work in printing facts rather than beliefs..Version: 7.5.9

How all are being manipulated - intentionally or notArticle points out, I think correctly, that a large part of the current problems between our American citizens is simply based on perception and not based in reality of action. In our home we call it ‘drama llama behavior’ - and as older people perhaps, with military experience as well as business and employee lives, we find it tiresome if not downright discouraging. Its unfortunate that ANY person in leadership should garner attention for ‘drama llama behavior’ and our citizens would be well advised to refuse any support for anyone who preys on hyping up events this way. The young people I know call it an ‘attention economy’ - you make money by gaining attention, so do whatever it takes to get attention…. The worse, the better. Personally I call that just plain poor judgement. Toddlers do this - I don’t allow toddlers to lead my views..Version: 7.6.10

Wise, insightful, excellent reportingWhen it comes to insightful reporting The Atlantic is better than the NYT and WaPo. It helps me understand the current political situation as well as possibilities to get ourselves out of the mess created by co-presidents Trump and Musk. For two examples of such reporting, look up the article on how Hitler dismantle the constitution using constitutional means, and the article on abundance as a new political order. I decided to “adopt” dear Atlantic after reading Timothy Snyder’s book on, On Tyranny. In one of his chapters, he talks about defending institutions, such as the law, media, educational institutions. I decided to invest through a simple subscription in a very important magazine. I do not regret it! I only wish that Atlantic would allow people to send an article to other people as a gift, but pay about a dollar on my end..Version: 7.5.4

I know this grief tooI lost my son, my only child, almost 11 months ago. He held my hand as he took his last breath and as I watched his last heartbeat on the monitor. This article sounds so much like what I feel. You can’t imagine life going on without the son I loved and depended on and did projects together with. I still wake up in the morning with his dying as the thing that awakens me—how blue his eyes were as he watched me—did he know there was no hope or was he hoping I’d somehow save him. It’s such a disappointment to keep waking up when just sleeping forever would stop the pain of living in a world without him. This article is pretty much spot on for how deep the grief of losing an adult child and what gut punches happen with the reminders of them. The awful ache of missing them….Version: 7.7.7

An intellectual life raft for today’s typhoonsMy morning routine has long included a quick review of The Atlantic’s headlines, along with a few other trusted sources for news and commentary. A few weeks ago, when I saw the headline that an Atlantic editor had been accidentally included in a Signal chat about an attack on Yemen, I briefly thought my eyes had deceived me. Turns out that The Atlantic, which I honestly thought of as a pleasant perspective rather than a journalistic juggernaut like some news outlets, had published the scoop of the decade. The ensuing retaliation from Trump and his minions obviated the story itself - the name-calling and slurs intended to undermine the paper’s credibility only strengthened it. I am so proud of The Atlantic for its handling of this story, and its enduring commitment to fair and honest reporting..Version: 7.5.8

Great content, app needs serious rethinkingGreat content needs no explanation. I like curated views, but in some ways it seems too curated because there’s absolutely no customization. I bought a subscription because I loved articles I stumbled online. However, now in the app, I’d like to find and bookmark said articles, but they are nowhere to be found. Found the year and month edition; found that edition in app, but apparently all articles from that edition aren’t in the app. There’s no search. Browsing by topic, just sends you through the same recent articles you see in other areas. Big push for newsletters. Who reads their personal newsletters anymore; we get enough email from work; personal emails are just for junk mail and password resets. Make newsletters/topics in the app. Let us choose our topics of interest feeds if we choose in addition to “today.”.Version: 6.1.2

Suggesting a Section for ProjectsIf you’ve searched for The Atlantic on the App Store, you’re aware of the high-level journalism published by the outlet. I’m proud to say that The Atlantic is the only magazine that I’ve (consistently) subscribed to for the last 7 years. And the iOS app befits its standard: clean, straightforward, and neatly organized. The one suggestion I would like to offer is the addition of Projects. The app’s “Sections” tab is nearly identical to the full website, with the exception of Projects. There are no doubt technical reasons for its omission that far exceed my level of understanding. However, The Atlantic’s Projects have long been a favorite feature. 2020’s Shadowland is particularly wonderful. In-app access to the Projects would be a fantastic addition, and I hope to see it in a future update..Version: 6.1.1

How Atlantic Magazine changed my lifeWhen I first read the James Murdoch story for the Atlantic magazine edition for the month of April, I was blown away by the well researched interview with James Murdoch that gave an eye to the succession based family and its influence on American political discourse. Since then I have enjoyed reading articles from Tim Alberta, Tai Nehisi Coates, and even old articles from pundits such as hunter s Thompson scathing obituary of Richard Nixon dated April of 1994. Why should one buy Atlantic? It is a time capsule of America’s history when it came to the media and analyzing the world. Even if you don’t agree with everything it says, it’s a symbol of a bygone era when good journalism was the norm. There is some bias, but in the world of extreme it is hard to be 100 percent impartial..Version: 7.6.4

Subscriber for 40 years! For 36 years, I received the Atlantic paper magazine. My Grandmother had been James Fallows’ fifth grade teacher. She loved him so much, she bought an Atlantic subscription for me as a college undergrad. She paid for the renewal each Christmas until her death in 2013. The Atlantic has been my constant companion. I read each issue cover to cover. Amazing journalism, fiction, poetry, and humor. For the last 4 years, I’ve been an app subscriber and I’m pleased to say the Atlantic is getting even better. The writers are amazing. I subscribe to the emails and they alert me to things I might want to read. What led me to review today, was that I just finished the list of articles recommended by Tom Nichols about the war in Ukraine. They dramatically raised my understanding of the situation. Outstanding! I love the app, but have one small problem with it. I would love to see a search bar visible on the opening page of the app. I’m often searching for certain authors or want to easily access the article that I’ve been alerted to. There may be an easy way to search, but I haven’t found it. Keep up the good work!.Version: 6.1.2

The Adult in American Political and Social ThoughtJournalism that is more valuable than ever — a go to source for anyone who believes a well-informed, critically thinking citizenry of independent thought is still essential for a flourishing society. Digitally, The Atlantic is both pulse and perspective on the relevant issues of importance with content that is digestible and accessible. (I really like the internal links to other articles, as well as other sites.) The magazine is the place for big ideas and emerging issues with writing that is thought provoking, trustworthy, and typically fascinating. Liberal bias? They are so far above any such labeling with some of the best minds in a diverse cross section of experience and sensibilities, and content that is a worthy addition to knowledge..Version: 6.0.3

The Atlantic - A Rare Beacon of Balance in Modern JournalismI considered the Atlantic publication to be one of the most reliable and Balanced news sources available today. Its commitment to factual accuracy is unmatched, and its reporting consistently reflects depth, nuance, and editorial integrity. In my view, it is offered a fair and measured assessment the last three presidencies, including it’s current coverage of the most recent Trump administration. While it leans slightly center-left, its journalism remains based on fact-based analysis rather than partisan rhetoric. The Atlantic remains my goto source for daily news - especially when I want clear, thoughtful insight on complex geopolitical issues without the noise of ideological spin..Version: 7.5.11

The Ring of TruthThese are days of exasperation, days I never expected to see. Our government has been overtaken by ignorant, arrogant people whose incompetence is only outdistanced by their shamelessness. What in any previous administration of my lifetime would have been impeachable if not imprisonable breaches of trust, to my disbelief, escapes accountability. As John Cusack recently said, “…people who aren’t willing to defend the first amendment shouldn’t be in the news business.” I’m so grateful for the voice of sanity, reason, and courage The Atlantic personifies daily with articles that speak truth to the authoritarianism that has hijacked our democracy. It’s an oxygen mask in a toxic atmosphere that’s making it hard to breathe..Version: 7.5.11

Love the content, not the appI love the content of the Atlantic and after a friend kept sharing gift articles with me I decided to get a subscription. I have to say the app itself is disappointing. Sometimes I’ll start reading an article. Come back to it later but it reloads a different page and then I have to remember the title of the article to go and find it. There’s no history of what you were reading or listening to. There’s also no way for me to share this outside of a gift. I just want the link to the article to share with other people who are already on the Atlantic with me instead I end up taking screenshots or having to go to a browser to sign the article. There’s no way to open a browser from the article at all..Version: 7.6.6

Returning SubscriberI was a subscriber through Google to which I could only get the magazine on the google news app which I thought was ridiculous. Switching over to the iPhone XR I downloaded the Atlantic and subscribed again. I don’t know what everyone is complaining about, the new layout is beautiful. I like the today section plus I get to hear the articles through the SoundCloud link that’s been put up on some articles. The dark mode is perfect. I let go of the New York Times because they hadn’t gone to dark mode yet. It’s just too bright. LA Times has and they have a great layout as well. Anyways great job Atlantic. You’re the app is great and you’ve got a subscriber for life..Version: 6.0.1

HATE this app (but I love the Atlantic)I am frustrated to the point of blindness with the way your app responds when the user accidentally touches one of the ads with the giant hit box. It takes me away from the article I’m reading to look **again** at another Audi ad (which holds a bitter irony for me as I will never in my lifetime be able to afford an Audi). Adding insult to class-warfare injury, I return to the article I was reading only to learn that I have to scroll through 2/3s of it to get back to where I was because the article goes back to the beginning. I love the Atlantic. I ***hate*** this app. Other news sites have the same accidental ad touching thing but I can always return to where I was in the thing I was reading. I know this can be programmed in. I am tempted to tell Audi that even if I got a massive windfall I would never buy an Audi because the way this app works angers me so much and it’s always an Audi ad. So I blame them. Actually I blame you, but I blame them as well. Please for the love of the gods fix this..Version: 7.2.6

App needs improvementI love the Atlantic but the app is frustrating. I had a notification for a story that I thought interesting, so I clicked on it and read about halfway through, then was interrupted. When I reopened the app, I was on the homepage, not the article I was halfway through. I searched for a search button - nope. I looked on the homepage, but that offers only 5 Reader Favorites. I looked in Sections, but didn’t know what section my article was in. I went to my browser and eventually was able to find it (it’s in How to Build a Life, which I couldn’t find in the app). I read several other magazines and newspapers through apps - The Atlantic should check out The New Yorker’s and The New York Times for improving functionality..Version: 6.1.2

Can’t sign in on appI’m unable to sign in on the app. It inexplicably logged me out (probably from an upgrade that wasn’t tested properly on your end). Extremely frustrated. I can sign in desktop with the same email and password I’m using on the app, but I get an incorrect username/password response on the app. Then when I try the ‘Need help signing in’ option, then I get the error ‘Can’t find any linked accounts….’ error. This needs to be be fixed as soon as possible. I doubt I’m the only user having this issue. And I mainly use the app, so I’m not getting full use of my subscription..Version: 7.4.7

Excellent writing, some functionality hiccupsI have no issues with the actual content put out by The Atlantic; even when I disagree with their writers, the work is thoughtful and scrupulous. I have a couple of minor criticisms of the app itself though. The search function isn’t always great at finding things. Also — and perhaps this is just a quixotic qualm of mine — when you click on an author to see the rest of their work, it takes you to the website rather than the app, which means I have to log in again to read anything there. That said, overall it is a very solid app, and as previously mentioned, full of excellent writing and reporting..Version: 7.5.11

*Update; once again I’m paying but my account disappeared. Hard to find any way to communicate. What’s the point of the app. Today you ask me to subscribe to read my articles. WHY? Why do these apps frustrate and insult us when we’re subscribed and paid up? Some dorky, we head that does not really understand people? You’re not the only ones. This is more common perhaps there are fewer “normal people” supervising the techies who break what ain’t broke. What they don’t get is more often is that I often cancel when this happens. If I hasn’t read The Atlantic for 40 years I’d be gone. I call it entropy by techies. **************** Same as above but AI makes it worse. Seems to contradict The Atlantics values and tradition, treating me as a non-person..Version: 7.6.15

Thoughtful PerspectivesWhether it be news, politics or Culture, I find the articles in the Atlantic to be thoughtful. I may not always agree with the authors, but that’s okay with me and as it would seem, with the authors as well. As an aging American, who is concerned about the actions of our leaders, I want a balanced perspective on what things may be necessary and what things may be misguided. In life we learn that few things are merely black and white and it’s the grey areas that most often lead to disagreement. The more informed we can become about the grey areas, the more likely we are to eventually agree upon solutions. Having a more informed perspective on the events of the world is why I read the Atlantic..Version: 7.5.8

Great experienceI almost didn’t download this app after becoming a subscriber because I assumed I would continue to read most articles on my laptop. I was wrong! I really enjoy the experience of using this app. The design is excellent and the Today screen always presents something I’m interested in, while the limit to 5 main stories keeps it from being overwhelming like most other news/media apps are. (You can of course access all stories elsewhere in the app.) To my own surprise, I’ve become a near daily user and recommend this app as the most pleasant way to access Atlantic articles..Version: 6.1.1

Great audio improvementsI have very bad vision. And I had been struggling trying to get my iPhone to read the Atlantic articles. Along came the first Atlantic articles on audio! But alas, I couldn’t listen to all of them while driving (yes, I can drive but not read) because the app lacked a way to build a playlist. And now, with the latest improvements, I can not only listen and build a playlist, but I can listen to all the articles since they are all in an audible format, in addition to the readable one. BIG THANKS to the developers and to management for making this possible. A year ago I was feeling like deleting the app out of frustration. Now I can’t put it down. I’ll keep my subscription forever..Version: 7.5.6

Love the Atlantic, so so about the app...I'm an Atlantic subscriber who likes both the physical copy and to peruse current digitally and this app isn't the best experience. A few small improvements would go a very long way. First, it's hard to understand why the magazine is buried under "sections", it is not at all intuitive to find, but at least, once you know, you know. The second mind boggling aspect of the app is the lack of a search function. This makes it impossible to research topics, and very difficult to find articles, even current ones. Please add a search function, it's a consistent theme in reviews and a real problem for users..Version: 6.2.2

Thank you Atlantic Magazine and all brave voices speaking truth to power. My latest charitable cause, investing in truthful voices shining light on non-negotiable fact and truth. The free press, increasingly edited out of the Oval, victim to rising global and American fascist pressures, and in profit duress, is the critical force that will make or break democracy’s strong stand against fascim. Right now, we are living “the fascist’s dream,” an ignorant, propagandized voter base + self-interested wealthy. And we tumble backwards towards 1930’s Germany… Thank you Atlantic Magazine (and others) for continued slog against authoritarian oligarchical kleptocracy, for it has risen ferociously. What tenuous things democracy and freedom are..Version: 7.5.8

Great content and app … weird AI adsI can’t say enough good stuff about the excellent reporting and journalism of the Atlantic. But, the ads in the app are really off-putting. Right now, there’s a video ad in almost every article, multiple times, for the “2025 most realistic bunny dolls for Easter” … nothing against bunnies, dolls or Easter, but this ad shows an (clearly!) AI video of a baby rabbit in slowmo to make it seem like it could be a doll. Ads for things that don’t exist, that’s my complaint. The list includes slim window ACs (I wish) and other cool gadgets that look like neat spy cameras. I understand the need for ads, but it’s super distracting when they are basically spam. I’d rather have ads for things that exist in the real world..Version: 7.5.6

No search?I love The Atlantic and have a digital subscription plus receive posts from various writers. The app really needs to have a search button and better syncing between devices. Usually I read the articles from my phone, because that is the one piece of tech that I have on me most of the time. If I come across an article on a search that comes from The Atlantic, it would be very helpful to be able to find that article through the app. The Atlantic is way too smart of a publication to have such a dumb app..Version: 6.2.2

Atlantic thoughtsI have been an Atlantic reader for many years. Currently, it is one of the few publications that still offers clear, insightful articles on subjects as varied as the environment, politics, literature and film( just to name a few of the topics The Atlantic covers every month). The Atlantic is currently one of the few sources of information one can count on to have thoughtful, balanced and well written articles on these subjects and more. In a country gone mad( well, half of it anyway) The Atlantic offers hope that reason will still win out..Version: 7.5.8

ExcellentThis magazine is full of excellent stories and incredible journalism. The UI is beautiful and clean. Anne Applebaum’s piece in the July 2020 issue is particularly fantastic. New stories daily in addition to magazine additions. I would like to suggest that they add a projects page so we can view things like Shadowland more easily. I would also make the much bigger request that they add the rest of the magazine additions into the app. They currently have available every issue of the Atlantic magazine going back to 2004. It would be an amazing luxury to have the entire backlog of the magazine available for reading..Version: 6.1.1

Intelligence, Depth, Wit, & Perception- the Atlantic for me.I’m so grateful for this magazine! It brings me into the community I can relate to most because of shared values, a commitment to facts, opinions that have not dismissed objectivity, and a respect for knowledge so that I learned a little bit of the vast storage of knowledge that, at the age of 83, I still do not know. There’s so much to read between the front and back covers of The Atlantic. that I wish there was an executive summary in the beginning of each major article so that I get the gist of the few submissions. I don’t have enough time to read..Version: 7.5.8

Founded in 1857I’ve been a fan of the Atlantic monthly since childhood. The only change I’ve regretted is their de-emphasis on fiction and their change of fictional taste. As a young man I would always read the monthly short story first but now find I have but little patience for the fiction they do publish. Still it is one of the most venerated magazine in the country still going strong when so many have disappeared. Trump’s description of it as a failing magazine seems quite ironic since surely Mr. Goldberg’s story is bound to inspire more subscriptions..Version: 7.5.6

Great Simple FormatI LOVE the format of the app; it’s so easy to read and not as overwhelming as a typical news website. Only suggestion I have is adding a section of your audm articles, as well as clearly labeling each article on the front end (before you click it to read it) if it has an audio option. The New Yorker has started doing something similar and I love that I can see which are audio. Sometimes I really prefer the audio ones over reading them and it’s much easier to navigate if they’re labeled more prominently and given their own section..Version: 7.2.2

ExcellentThe Atlantic it always is an excellent publication the only publication is once again Apple promises it with Apple plus news yet that’s a lie Apple seems to Lie a lot these days.I have Apple News+ and I’m supposed to get the Atlantic well I guess a couple articles that’s not exactly getting the Atlantic to me and Apple has no right to advertise that way it’s simply an advertisement this is useless subscribe to the Atlantic and that stinks Apple stinks there’s scam artists of the worst type people are getting wise that kind of behavior on the part of Apple..Version: 6.1.2

The Atlantic AppI’m a recent subscriber to The Atlantic — I had no idea of the high-quality writing and thoughtfulness of the reporters and editors — I have been so impressed, educated, and inspired. The Atlantic App has been the best part of the experience! I thought I was getting a monthly publication, but through the App, I am daily receiving a deeper understanding and reflection on my world — and the App presents it in such a personal way! The Atlantic and its App may be the most important action I have taken for my citizenship and ability to understand a complex and (hopefully) changing world. Thank you!.Version: 6.0.4

B. SimmThe analysis, the insight, sources, structure and the professional/personal tone of the writing always a pleasure. Half of America is either deceived or deceiving itself. Fortunately, the other half embrace truth… thank Christ there’s publications like the Atlantic who deliver the goods..Version: 7.7.7

Mostly nice, but one persistent annoyanceThe app looks nice, and the content is excellent. However, reading long articles is challenging, because the app won’t remember where I am if I don’t finish reading an article in one sitting. It’s like reading the paper magazine, but with someone who closes the magazine and takes out your bookmark every time you put the issue down. Why can’t the app just resume in the state that it was in before switching? (It does behave like this if the switch is brief, but will revert to the home page or a blank screen with longer breaks.).Version: 7.2.4

No Search Functionality?Amazing stories it’s my go to news/editorial source but does the app really not have any search functionality??? Maybe I’m missing something but I couldn’t find it anywhere.Version: 6.1

Screen goes blank while readingThe most recent version seems to have introduced a new bug. I have noticed that the screen will go blank upon reaching a certain point in an article. The spot where it goes blank will vary from article to article but it’s always the same for a given article. Some articles, on the other hand, give no problem. I don’t know if it’s because of an approaching ad or something else. Sometimes it’s so bad that the only fix is to abandon the app and read the article via a web browser. I have also seen it on the iPad version..Version: 7.4.7

I didn’t pay for flashing ads - why am I getting themArticles are great - I’m a new subscriber and exceedingly disappointed that I have paid for a subscription and yet articles are littered with Ads. It’s sad, really. Especially the ones that flash - give me a break. Disappointed..Version: 7.7.7

Stop the Adds!Subscribers (the ones willing to pay for your content) should be able to opt out of annoying juvenile advertising. I just subscribed to the Atlantic (I respect your Journalism) but am already considering cancelling my subscription due to the invasive advertising! I subscribed to your journalistic content, not to advertising. Michael Martin.Version: 7.7.5

Very good journalismThe Atlantic offers the in-depth analysis that I need to better understand the world we live in..Version: 7.7.4

OutstandingFreedom of the press is essential for democracy. Long live The Atlantic. Long live a free & strong United States of America..Version: 7.7.2

A Quantum of Solace in the Middle of a Winter Too Cold, Too Dark, and Too LongWhen everything I am told as a teacher by the legions of charlatans presenting themselves as “thought leaders” is routinely and summarily dispatched on the pages of your esteemed monthly, I am delighted beyond words and reinvigorated to fight a little longer! Mille grazie, Atlantic Monthly..Version: 7.7.1

‏StretchWhen you’re watching something take the increments of a pulse through words, and be worthy of it time and time again - yeah, that. (Forgive me, I live in 2016).Version: 7.7.1

The BestExcellent writers examining topical issues, providing insights that many other media just do not have the time or space to explore. One could read only the Atlantic and be very well informed..Version: 7.6.16

The BestLongtime reader and fan. In a world of quasi-journalism, The Atlantic holds the line in favour of real news and opinion based on fact..Version: 7.6.16

Paid subscriber… but still ads in appI love the content… but I really don’t like that ads are still in this app even though I’m a paid subscriber. I may stop using the app as a result and shift to an ad blocking browser which is a shame given that with paid subscriptions there is generally a practice of if you are a paying customer then ads go away. This is the only paid service that still shows me ads.Version: 7.6.16

Informative. Thought provoking. A must have App!A publication as old and distinguished as the Atlantic needs no introduction. Suffice it to say the writing is top tier, trustworthy and engaging. A well laid out app as well. Recommended..Version: 7.6.15

Long term valueI have been reading the Atlantic since my mother bought me a subscription in my teens- over sixty years ago. What stands out about the magazine is the very high quality of the thought and its expression in exceptional writing, whether it be about politics or poetry. That has not changed over these many years. If anything it has gotten even better with talented management in the face of a declining level of public discourse..Version: 7.6.15

Great!I’m enjoying reading this journal, as well as listening to the audio when driving or doing chores..Version: 7.6.14

Fix the infrastructureThe games section is super glitchy, often doesn’t load at all and I have to re-open the app a couple of times. The article audio lacks some basic controls too..Version: 7.6.6

Shining light in the darknessI was gifted a subscription to The Atlantic by my daughter and in the ensuing years it has become an integral part of my intellectual wellbeing…what a gift!.Version: 7.5.12

The work that never stop.No news or journalistic outlet is perfect or without criticism. So I say this with all honesty. They try to do what “good” outlets should do. Research, truth and empathy. The work. You can be better by showing unbiased facts and truths. You work is so good. We want you to be so great. You have my support.Version: 7.5.11

Where Democracy hasn’t died yetIf you can’t get enough stories on the potential and real damage Trump is causing the US and the world, this is the publication to read. It’s Editor-in-Chief even gets invited to secret Administration chat groups. Enjoy the free press while you can..Version: 7.5.11

JournalismJournalists you can trust, and articles are always written with integrity.Version: 7.5.8

Audio Content IssuesOverall it’s a good app, but as someone who primarily listens rather than reads, I’d really appreciate a tab that has only human-read stories. The AI narration is of significantly lower quality, to the point that it puts me off of the app to not be able to filter out the AI-narrated articles. The rhythm, cadence and even pronunciation is too distracting that it becomes a waste of time. A human-narrated tab would greatly improve this app, but I won’t hold my breath for it. It seems more likely that these news companies want us to get used to a much worse (but cheaper for them) audio experience, and letting listeners opt out would draw attention to the disparity..Version: 7.5.11

Nuisance adsMany of your ads are irrelevant and require much time-wasting to delete..Version: 7.5.9

Perfection?Almost. Close enough..Version: 7.5.8

The Atlantic Is the BestOf all the publications, I read, The Atlantic has the highest analytic and journalistic standards. It is such a satisfying publication..Version: 7.5.8

Brilliant, insightful writing.Articles that not only offer a desperately needed, sharply intelligent analysis of the growing and dangerous authoritarianism in the US, but sometimes even manage to make me laugh in the middle of it all..Version: 7.5.8

Not an English Accent, PleaseDavis Brooks works to offer comprehensive context to an understanding of the situation in which the US finds itself. It is intelligent and may be mistaken for elitist. However, having the audio version presented in an English aristocratic accent is just wrong!!!.Version: 7.5.8

Subscription worth every pennyIn a world of endless online content, created by "experts", the Atlantic offers the most needed of oasis: insightful, considered, well researched writing..Version: 7.5.8

Excellent reporting.Recently switched from Washington Post after Jeff Bezos issued another edict undermining that outlet. So happy I did. The quality of writing & content is top notch. Plus love the app. Well designed, intuitive. Easy to read or listen to articles. Build a reading list..Version: 7.5.5

Exceptional reportingIn this frightening era, it is a relief to have well written, well researched articles from a reliable source..Version: 7.5.5

You guys are great!Even on these dark days, I like to start my day by reading the news headlines and then going straight to the Daily Atlantic where I know I will find thoughtful and provocative articles that will help make sense of the madness of our times. My only complaint is that while misinformation and conspiracy theories abound, I cannot share The Atlantic articles with family or friends who can’t afford the subscription to the magazine..Version: 7.5.4

Trustworthy Journalism in a Time of PerilI have been an Atlantic Monthly subscriber for nearly 50 years. The coverage is fair-minded, and the writers dig deep into the ambiguities and challenges of the subjects they cover. In these chaotic times, with disinformation and misinformation so prevalent, and the rise of the belligerent authoritarian state, I can only hope that the Magazine endures..Version: 7.5.4

Add to read laterHello, could you add the option to “read later”for articles without audio as well, on top of the existing option to save as bookmark? Thank you.Version: 7.5.4

I have returned to the Atlantic Monthly for a good reasonDuring my childhood and young adult life, mom always had her monthly subscription out for the family to read and enjoy or not. Mostly, it was beyond me, but I found it worthwhile when I did crack the spine. Now, I have rediscovered Atlantic. It is home to important thinkers who can express themselves clearly and consisely, well researched, factual and with deep insight. Atlantic offers more than a good read. It offers a vision. A beam of clarity an enlightenment in a deeply torn and troubled world. My personal favourite is David Frum. But he is in the very good company of wise and worthy writers. Which have earned my subscription dollars..Version: 7.5.4

Three Cheers for The Atlantic! It seems to me, as a Canadian, watching the tepid, resigned opposition to the Putin wannabe in the White House, that The Atlantic and the NYTimes represent the most articulate sources of that otherwise wanting opposition in these alarming times..Version: 7.5.3
