Informative & Accurate

I really like this app. It gives a clip of the 911 call, with a written summary so you don’t have to listen to the entire call. It rates the most trending stories, and you can choose to get local or nationwide alerts. I haven’t seen any ads, it’s free, and it doesn’t run my battery down! It even includes a map of where the call originated. A few suggestions: I wish that the clip of the calls were longer, and that you could sort or search calls (although they are tagged by event type). I had to call 911 for the fire dept and it included a Google maps photo of my home, which was a little concerning (but no names were listed.) Overall, I recommend this app and would even pay for it!

Puget Sound- Informed User

I don't usually write reviews but this is a great app. It's very accurate , provides the most features and details of any app of this kind and they keep the basics ( which are far above "basic)free. Unlike many (all) similar apps , it isn't constantly popping up and trying to have you pay for any kind of extra details , information or ". Premium" services. So it's really a good feeling every time I use this app. Not to mention it just is well made , thorough, and accurate if any company or app deserves consumer monetary support, even if it is just for the quality and integrity - it would be for this app. I highly recommend it for local up to date service .

Lammbies & Co.Version: 26.10.0
Very informative app

I like this app a lot it keeps you informed, and it also shows you how hard our police departments are working to help people motorist and animals. The only thing I would like to see them change is to keep the newest alerts up top. The reason for this request is if there is an accident or something going on construction And people need to be somewhere they’re going to want to go around it and not add to the traffic jam if it’s a high-speed chase they’re not gonna want to be involved if you keep everything at the forefront They are more informed and can’t stay out of the emergency vehicles way.

HparkerpaVersion: 25.50.0
Helpful, not say all be all

Pretty cool app to get some information regarding the stuff going on around you. The map/addresses seem to be in error a lot though. The map of predators can go a long way especially when looking for a home, school, or places to visit and be around. For AI automation, you can gather a lot of information from the app and the UI is solid. Just not something that’s going to give you everything or be reliable like many of comments and reviews seem to think. One immediate change that would be helpful is the filters always change back to the original settings if you leave the map. For example, if you set to 24-hour feed it automatically resets to 14-day feed if you leave the map.

Everything we need to know

This app is highly recommended, my city is there worst in NM and knowing what’s going on around you is so helpful especially when you have children. Being able to inform my friends and family for our safety, is the best thing about this app. It’s also so scary and sad to see how bad it is living here, better to bee aware of your surroundings and keep up with things really happening around you, instead of being oblivious and thinking everywhere is safe and running in the middle of crossfire or tragedy in broad daylight. Nowhere is safe here. 😪

Now we talking 🔥

We all know there’s another app similar to this one, but this right here is for the people. Love that we can hear the radio call, which is very important and actually very cool. The UI is very clean and smooth. The fact that they actually cover Las Vegas as well, is already a huge win. I have my personal police scanner, but having this on your phone is very very helpful. Great job guys, hope to see this app go the distance.

G.Lopez213Version: 25.46.2
Room for improvement

This is the best crime app I have found so far - it does a great job of showing local crime activity. That said, I’ve run into a couple of issues. First, even though I have notifications set up for local crime, I rarely receive alerts for nearby incidents. Instead, I occasionally get notifications about crimes happening 30+ miles away. Second, the events are not in chronological order - it jumps from incidents that happened 12 hours ago to an event that occurred 45 minutes ago, making it harder to follow recent activity.

Savanna RossVersion: 26.16.0
Decent but no chronological order?

Overall the app is good, it does what’s needed. But it drives me nuts that there’s no way to sort by newest or oldest, no way to see a date range. As you scroll, you’ll see calls from 1 week ago, 30 mins ago, 5 days ago, 12 hours ago, it’s all mixed together. The desktop site at least let you view the previous 2 weeks in chronological order. But even that was updated recently to only show 1 page of the most recent calls.

TinyMonstersVersion: 26.19.0
Needs better advancements

I absolutely love this app and have been sharing with everyone! The only thing I would like to change is that all calls are set to pacific time zone and I’m on eastern. No way for me to change my time zone in the app. Also, I wish I was able to filter calls on the Home Screen and alert screen. It’s great being able to on the map, but it would be nice to be able to on the others as well. Also, PLEASE CHANGE THE STANDARD FILTER TO PAST 24hrs and not the 2 week one!

CoachKayyy93Version: 25.39.0
Great app so far, one little note

So far I really like a lot of the features of this app. Especially how the scanner calls are included and transcribed. One note though. A toggle switch to change how the calls are arranged would be useful. As I look through the feed, my first couple results could be from two days ago, then another from an hour ago. I’d like to be able to filter them by “most recent”, like I do on Facebook with the scanner pages I follow.

The_Dragonborn627Version: 26.22.0
Transcripts instead of just a scanner!

I really love this app and haven't seen another one like it. I don't understand how search works, though... I have specific addresses signed up for notifications or just search for a street but the results are a mixture of incidents all over the area, with no way to filter to limit the results to a smaller radius or sort by distance or time. This seems like a basic feature that should be included. Am I missing something?

QuirkyCarterVersion: 25.50.0
Chronological order 🙏

This app is great however there is no way to put the incidents in the order of which they happened. So if you’re looking for something in particular it’s impossible to find. Other than that I think this app is great keeps me up to date with what’s happening in my immediate area as well as full detail sex offenders which is highly important as a mother to three young adults!!

Ginad0823Version: 26.17.0
Crime Radar Dispatch Audio

We love this app so far, it has been about a month. We do find it very accurate. We can verify the calls and they are right on. Thank you. Maybe if we could have a rolling scanner introduced at some point? We could enter the different towns cities and they could roll through the numbers like an older style bearcat scanner. But thank you we love it.

Tur Tur TURN IT UPPP!Version: 26.9.0
Settings

Good app, but the transcriptions are terrible and there’s identifying info of addresses given sometimes for calls. There’s also been several calls that were put on here that shouldn’t be on here for the greater good of the parties involved and their families. There’s also no filters for the main page for your area. I’d prefer newest to oldest but instead it’s completely random and shows calls however it wants to.

Tburks94Version: 26.22.0
Love it

This is the perfect app for people who can’t mind their own business to save their life (aka me.) it’s like a morning newspaper because some of the headlines are silly, however it is good to know what kind of crime is potentially going on in my area. If I could change anything about this app it would be to let us “save” an incident so we can follow up on it later

Kcat2003Version: 26.13.0
Would be better if…

I love this app but it would be better if notifications were in order. Also if the radius could go any smaller to pin point closer to where you live. Would also be great to hear the actual transcript instead of the recording, and would also be great if the transcript would be longer or if another app or like partnering app would support live calls but free. But I do like it a lot

That1gurl888Version: 26.16.0
Alerts are not working

First off the app is a 5 star all the way. However the alerts do not work. To be fair there was an update I just installed so maybe that fixed the issue. If so ill change my review to 5 stars. Great app. Expeciallly for a smaller town like mine where there isn't really a newspaper and regular crime chasers on Facebook is where this town gets most of its local news. I've recommended it to a lot of people already.

Mako49Version: 25.35.2
A True Lifesaver!

I was planning on running some errands one evening and just before leaving the house, I was notified by CrimeRadar that there was a hostile situation not even 2 blocks away from me. Had I of left, I could've possibly lost my life that night. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for keeping this app free and providing such lifesaving information!

Trainee737Version: 26.17.0
One of the best apps, but needs fine tuning

Living on the barrier island we are not told of crimes because we don’t want to scare away the tourists. This app is great for the residents to really know what is happening. The real time alerts do not work. It would be nice if when you opened app, it would open to the locations you are following and then if you want to see additional Areas, you can go to another tab.

TB707Version: 25.45.0
Need options

Great app, but it has no organization. The feed shows calls from two days, then 10 hrs ago, then 15 minutes then a day… etc. It needs to have options to sort either chronologically or maybe distance from current location? That would be more helpful. Also, a search feature would be helpful.

EmandthegangVersion: 26.13.0
Awesome App & It’s Free

One of the best crime reporting apps I’ve ever used. It also lists known sex offenders as well, which is information everyone in a community should be aware of. You can listen to the dispatch call over the radio with a transcript, you can confirm the situation and even send a thank you to First Responders. All in all, it’s the best app I’ve downloaded this year.

Shhh_Nobody_CaresVersion: 26.6.1
Need Sort Feed Functions

The feed for areas should allow for sorting by date/time so the most recent items can be found quickly versus having to scroll through the entire feed to find items that were uploaded hours ago. They show up in the feed RANDOMLY! Ugh. That’s ugly and very annoying. The rest of the app is pretty spectacular.

RLMKVersion: 25.53.1
Great info

I find the app to be fairly intuitive and it’s definitely fun. The only critique I have is I’ve never hear a notification when a new event arises. It would be nice if we notification sound to distinguish it from other sounds on the iPhone. I don’t see where I can do that. Maybe I’m missing something.

Forget the nickname!Version: 26.6.1
Very informative app!

If you want to know what's happening in your hood this app is great. i would like to see the calls listed in order by time the latest call listed first and really i am only interested in calls in the last 24 hrs i dont need to see calls from 2-5 days ago.

Raven HedgeVersion: 26.13.0
CrimeRadar!!!

10 stars!!! I only hope this app is available everywhere. It’s absolutely helpful and accurately useful. Keeps you up to date, well aware, and informed about any kind of issues in and around your neighborhood. My alerts stay on all the time. Best app out for things like this.

Aris-PVersion: 26.12.0
Good App

Love the App but one thing I wish was changed was the order on the feed would be from newest to oldest. Looked through all of the settings and could not find anything to change. Will have one from 5 minutes then next would be from 3+ days ago and then next would be from a few hours ago

EXodusK3Version: 26.8.0
Great app but could be better

I think it is a great concept with what this app is doing, but the sorting of the incidents is absolutely terrible. I can look and read -about an incident but then 10 minutes later if I try to show someone the same incident is completely gone from my feed. would greatly benefit from the option to sort.

SmokeDamaged84Version: 26.6.1
Really good, however there are bugs.

It’s really good the audio are mostly clear and the summaries are really good. However there is a bug where I can’t access more details when I tap on the call in the app, only when I tap on the notification do I get the details. One final suggestion, if we can add a saved calls or incident that would be great

I give it a 1-5 stars hmmmmVersion: 26.6.0
Up to date report.

I really like the up to date crime reports and local incident reporting as it gives the details without any spin and even has the 9-1-1 calls And police communications of the incident! It is better than the local news as THEY always want to put a slant to their reporting but NOT HERE! THANK YOU CRIME RADAR!

GOD IS LONG SUFFERINGVersion: 25.48.0
Always interesting

I enjoy this website because it is different from most of the rest. It is always interesting to learn of the police reports in my area. There is never a dull moment and this website keeps you up-to-date.

CrimeRadar Dispatch Audio Negative Reviews and Ratings

Issues that need fixed

I’m leaving a one star review because there are issues within the map that need to be fixed within the next update such as the filter setting selection needs to have a permanent save option. I’m tired of dealing with it auto correcting back to 14 days after I exit the application, another big issue with the map would be the incident markers after the incident happens it should take about five minutes for the icon to pop up along with the information instead it takes an hour or more which is unacceptable when trying to follow an incident that happens in real time, not an hour after it happens. Until these issues get fixed within the next update or two it will continue to be one star and I will be using the crime map on the NewsBreak app at least their my filter settings that I choose will stay until I decide different even if I close out the application and there’s only a 30 minute difference from when the incident occurred in real time.

RJ48512Version: 25.50.0
Could be better

I like the app for the information provided but: 1. When you are looking for incidents in a specific town or area it gives you information from other places that aren’t even related to the specific town or city. 2. You can only click on the timeline of the map to show incidents in the last 24, 48, 1 week etc but you have to continually go back and click the timeline again and again if you only want to see incidents that happen in the last 24-48 hours and then it is only available when you click on the map portion of the app! 3. Doesn’t give you the option to sort incident by latest happening. You have to scroll through all of the incidents to find the most recent in the area. These things seem like pretty simple fixes and something that should already be available!

Taryan AVersion: 26.16.0
Promising but inconsistent

I was excited to have something to tap in to our local fire/ambulance feed since they went digital. Overall the app is fast and the interface is clean. However, the data is quite inconsistent. The Home screen is not sorted by date and seems random, with no obvious way to change the sorting. You can sort by Latest in the Map screen, but not all the calls in the Home screen are in the Map screen. There is also a significant delay in our area between the call happening and when it is posted. The Replay screen looks promising, but none of the calls are from our area, and instead are from far-away zip codes in and out of state. Fix these few issues and I’d pay for the app.

FreezerburnVersion: 26.22.0
Deleted the Updated App

I’ve been using this app for a while to get local updates since my little town doesn’t have many options for knowing what’s going on. I thought it the app was decent (better than nothing).. but it seems like the app has gone through some major changes recently and I HATE it now. Enough that I deleted my account and deleted the app. Since the updates, the app keeps showing me alerts for all over my state and everywhere other than local. I’ve changed my settings, updated my location and my location preferences and it still keeps showing me alerts for everywhere other than what I want. And now it’s wanting to charge a subscription fee. No thanks, the app went from somewhat helpful to completely worthless.

KrzylkafoxVersion: 26.22.0
Was awesome

I've had the app for about a month, maybe longer. I tell everyone about it. It had some glitches when I first started using the app. But it has progressuvely gotten worse. The "stories" don't link to the map any more. The map rarely even works for me. It never has my location correct, even though i've given the app access to my location info. Hopefully they can fixthe issues and stop the backward slide. I'd have given 5 stars the first week I had the app. I onky gave 3, and not lower, because I think they should at least be able to get the app back to where it was. I'll take the small glitches over this stuff any day.

Sko4200Version: 25.44.0
No way to sort

I would give this more stars if there was any possible way to sort the calls from when they’re called in/most recent to older. Everything comes in all jumbled. Things that happened 5mins ago are buried under stuff from well over a week ago. So, if you hear sirens next to your house- plan to have to scroll through 50 unrelated calls before and If, you find it. I’ve noticed this same review has been given many many times over the years and has still not been addressed. My guess is the developers have no intention of adding a sort feature

SBethNyVersion: 26.17.0
Poorly designed update

After using this app for about a month and enjoying the design, it appears a core feature was removed. The audio interface has been downgraded so no more tapping text to play that part of the audio. Additionally there’s a new “prayer” button, which is whatever, but there is also some weird editorializing going on with the report names. For example instead of “suspicious person” it’s “suspicious person raises concern”. Instead of “building alarm” it’s “alarm triggers urgent response at xxx.” The new descriptions are simply less accurate in addition to being unnecessarily long .

Vecna-Version: 25.48.0
It was awesome, but now it’s not!

I loved this app. It was so easy to keep track of what was going on around me, and especially because I live in an apartment. First they started censoring addresses, which is awful if it’s a super long road. You can’t tell where anything is. Now they have so many clickbait and fake ads in the feed that I don’t want to look at it. On top of it, now they want you to subscribe. I know apps and developers have to make money, but there has a to be a more subtle way of doing this. It seems like in a month’s time, the best qualities of this app were ruined!

Shannie92Version: 26.22.0
Now full of ads and “listen” credits

I have loved this app and am so disappointed that it’s gone the way of everything else and is now pay to listen. I understand needing to monetize but having to watch ads in order to listen to scanner snippets takes so much value away from the user experience. I was ok with the new promotions shown in between call summaries. I’d have been willing even to buy the app outright to make it ad-free. But being constantly interrupted by ads makes this more hassle than it’s worth. This was my favorite app before and I recommended it to lots of people. Can’t say the same anymore.

MissMelly419Version: 26.17.1
Amazing app! Needs work

The app is exactly what i was looking for! Clean layout and crisp dispatch quality. That being said some things need improvement. Add ability to organize the home tab in order for recent situations instead of all over the place. Ability to add more than 1 followed location, i do not know why that isn’t a thing already. If possible add the rest of the radio traffic for each situation not sure if thats something you can do but would make it even better to hear how it played out!

Jkul777Version: 26.16.0
User data is on this radar

TL;DR- All your data including activity and info are given up by using this. Total privacy surrender isn’t free. Full: The biggest crime is how otherwise reasonable people can think that anything is free. This monitors everything about users- personal information, communication, location, all you do, say, see, etc on your device. Forever. You give permission by using it. They gather and sell to anyone. You can’t undo that. Don’t believe me, just scroll down a bit on the AppStore page and it’s all right there under privacy practices. Compare to other apps and see that almost none require giving up so much. Why does it need to know everything? To make money of course. Nothing is free, only difference is how you pay. This degree of data demand is no different than an excessive monetary charge, except with money you can stop paying. Once info is given, its use can’t be controlled. Be aware.

The Combination is 1-2-3-4-5Version: 26.16.1
Needs Fixes

This app is a really great idea!! But there is many glitches that could be fixed. The notifications do not work. Since having the app I haven’t been notified once. It also doesn’t filter out other states and cities when you put a main location on your Home Screen. I also wish it put more recent events taking place above things that happened days ago. There’s no organization in the event timeline so it’s hard to see what’s actually happening now in real time. Fix these things and it’s an easy 5 stars!!

DkgsfsbsxhduueVersion: 25.47.0
Strange sorting

The basic concept seems good, however , the sorting is strange. You may see a long list of events. The first occurred a week ago, next 6 hr ago, next 4 days ago…. There is no order or consistency. I’ve also had the context of a call entirely different and in a different place from the title. Both were in my area, but a few miles apart and two entirely different things. Since I was interested in the title, I was disappointed to find out absolutely nothing about it

Antique TeacherVersion: 26.16.1
Well… it finally happened

App was definitely cool when I first downloaded it a couple months ago. I could excuse the AI occasionally capturing the wrong names of roads, but at least we had the actual audio to listen to. Now the AI gets it wrong and the audio is also AI. This latest update also introduced ads which are really terrible. I usually don’t mind most ads but the first ad is full screen as you open the app, then they show up disguised between reports. Just can’t do it anymore. Thanks for the memories buddy, but I’m out.

PlatinumKanikasVersion: 26.17.0
Love it, but needs many improvements

Love the ability to locate anything via map. However notifications work sporadically. Also can’t stand that on the “Home” screen, NOTHING is in chronological order, for instance the first 3 on mine currently is a traffic accident 38 minutes ago, fire 16 hours ago, and an accident a week ago. Then 4th is an accident 4 days ago. Otherwise I love that the scanner is able to be listened to, because the transcription is never accurate.

TcfairmanVersion: 26.4.0
Censorship

They censor every age, address, license plate number, and just about any number that is said will be censored. It’s worthless! If you want to know what’s happening and where, in your community you’re far better off finding an app that doesn’t censor what is normally public knowledge or information! I’ve reported it many times and they still do it. I could only imagine how many people would NOT buy a newspaper that censored who, what and where something happened! If you redact anything you think is important information, what use is it????

Americaneagle1165Version: 26.13.0
What changed?

I used to love it because I was able to stay up to date with crime or accidents happening in my tiny town. First it started reporting crime from a town about 30 minutes away with a similar sounding name, which was annoying but I get how it might get confused. But now it’s giving me sensationalized stuff from cities hours away like mom walks in on husband and adult daughter. Are you just going for clicks now? I will be looking for other apps if this continues.

Wjc8501Version: 26.23.0
Timeline jumbled

There seems to be a lot of notifications but when scrolling on the homepage the timeline jumps around from days to hours ago. It would be nice to be able to sort them by time but it is certainly not that way now. I'm not sure how to interpret this app, if you scroll up too far it appears to be grabbing more information or either sorting it in a different order I'm not sure.

NomadMadManVersion: 26.22.0
It’s ok, but has a major flaw

I live in a small town, and this app keeps putting incidents that happen under our town, when they are happening in some major city in another state. It keeps saying there’s shootings, major accidents and stabbings on this road here where there is literally one home, and in reality it’s an incident in Texas. We figured this out when it finally gave a cross street during one of the many incidents on this street.

Lukkidat16Version: 26.22.0
What’s with the unnecessary drama and bad updates?

First, the brief descriptions suddenly get melodramatic. What are y’all trying to accomplish? We’re already on the app looking through incidents and it’s just unnecessary, distracting, and annoying. Second, I can no longer tap the section of dialog I want and have the audio jump to that section. Why? Third, the audio now stops if I switch away from the app. Why?
