Exactly what I wanted.I took my family on a last minute camping/road trip when our vacation to the east coast was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. With only a day to plan, I downloaded this app and just started driving, planning only a day or two in advance. This app helped out A TON and helped us find some free sites, thus helping our already low budget. The filters are great. The app was reliable. Used it for a week and found 4 really good spots. The only thing I wish it had was a "toilet" option under the filters. I was traveling with my wife and daughter and toilets was a big necessity for them. A lot of the free sites didn't even include a toilet so that was a touch frustrating as we had to filter through more sites than I wanted to on the app to find a campsite with toilets. GreatGreat app the directions are pretty good I’ve been riding on my motorcycle camping for the last 3 weeks. Although you need to take what people say on reviews of camp site with a grain of salt. My opinion people who have RV’s looking for free camp sites have too high expectations. I’ve read several reviews that say a place is messy and it’s fine. Good, and used in conjunction Google mapsWe use this app mostly because we're poor planners and we change our mind on the fly. I've been using this app for years now and this summer, being in the Canadian maritimes, it was really useful. I gave it 4 stars because, although it covers a lot of campgrounds, it was missing some in highly touristy places. Like north of Boston where you really need every last campground listed because they're all full and cost a fortune...and you're driving already that day, and you need a place to stay in a couple hours.... Anyway, $$ don't both me too much. It would be hard to keep updated constantly. I'd prefer to have as many campgrounds available as possible. Excellent Tent Camping ToolI really like the content in this app. The interface is a little clunky, but it has helped me find a ton of great campsites on a long road trip through the western states. I have had a dozen or more gorgeous campsites in remote areas courtesy of this cool app. Well worth the $. Even if you have no cell service the app works (although with a limited zoom on the base map). This is way better than any of the book I have ever used. The content is great and integrates both with apple and google maps. Each site lists a bunch of useful details about amenities and location. I would give it five stars if the base map had more detail and if the look and feel of the interface were cleaner. Bravo!!! Don't hesitate. I know I'm picky, but...Recently downloaded this app. Like all the campground info and directions. However, I have a big problem with the images area in each campground. 95% if the photos have nothing to do with the campground. Have gone to campground sites that I have been to many times and they all have random photos on them. Went to a campground site in the Cascades that I have been to at least 20 times and there were pictures of the coast. 200 miles away. Good for roadtripsThis review is based on a one week long car camping trip with no planned destinations primarily without cell service through northern California and Oregon. This app was sole source for tent camping sites. This app would receive five stars if there was the ability to DL maps for future reference (similar to offmaps) where no data service existed. We were able to get by just fine still, but that's the desire that gets it five stars in my opinion. Would like ability to DL maps for offline viewing with the camping sites. Note that it does cache the maps that you manually browse to, however I would like to select a predetermined area (future roadtrip) and DL the maps there. Note that you can cache maps for future reference by browsing to the area you'd like to refer to in future, however I would prefer to select an area and I've all map tiles for a certain zoom level DLed so all the guess work is gone. Good not greatCould improve by listing actual prices instead of "$$" and "$$$". Also, many of the phone numbers are not direct to that specific campground. Last of all, many times it shows in the description "water, sinks, restroom" but doesn't specify on the most important one - SHOWERS! Some campgrounds were listed with "water" and it was nothing more than a spigot in a field, others listed with "water" had fully function restrooms with showers. Greatest app for camping outHad downloaded the app and it worked great then suddenly stopped displaying everything except my current location. After contacting costumer support through e mail it was fixed in under a hour and works great. By far the best app for camping I have bought or used before. Great support from DevelopersI was initially disappointed with their data's accuracy due to the fact that a well known county camp ground was not listed in the app. I contacted the developers and not only did they send me a personal response regarding the location I had referred to, they detailed how they work to keep their databases up to date on the federal, state, county and city level with updates to the data pushed 1-2 times each month. Very Few Campgrounds ListedI don't know how the creators located campsites, but they've missed a tremendous number of wonderful ones. For example, a 6,000 acre nature preserve we know of with about 27 different campgrounds doesn't show up at all. Also, reviews are not app-specific: it takes you to Google to read reviews. Would appreciate some major efforts to upgrade this app, as it could be so useful! While this app has a lot of state, national park campgrounds and many independent ones too, it doesn't have those back woods sites that backpackers are always looking for. But that's where there's a problem; this app doesn't list enough campgrounds. I've traveled across the United States and stayed primarily at campgrounds. Good reference guide, design and experience lackingThe info in this app is very handy and useful, but the implementation can often be frustrating. Zoom levels are not remembered, there is no bookmarking and no in-app browser for all the links you'll eventually need to follow to get any real info for specific campgrounds. Which means a lot of repeating actions when going back and forth from this app to a web browser or map app to do any research. Very Useful AppWe used this app on a trip to Colorado in August 2013. It was very helpful in locating backwoods tent camping spots - which were harder to find than I thought. Camping User interfaceNot impressed. Typical camping website user interfaces are awful. All one wants is to know what sites are available on any f—ing weekend. Instead you have to search for specific campsite on a specific weekend. Of course, every site is booked unless it more than 6 months out. (The web page default settings are “this weekend” or “next weekend” - give me a break!! No one can impulse camp in California given the demand for camp sites.)
