As of late 2019 there are no water marks, seems to be the same as the book with the ability to zoom in.

I travel extensively to developing countries ant the printed "point-it" book is fantastic. I have purchased many copies as gifts for friends deploying in peacekeeping missions. Developer pls fix issue: When you try to zoom on an image the right side get cut off. Note: Travel safe - pulling out a USD $600 phone in a developing country may make you a target.

I've been travelling for many years now, often in areas where I speak the language not too well or not at all (Asia, South America, Near East) and the point it always helped me out. Mostly only when I was looking for a place to stay and the like, but in two cases I needed to see a doctor and point it was vital there. Trying to explain a foreign doctor in the middle of nowhere what's wrong is really tricky without speaking the language. I had the book for over ten years now and also bought the app recently. The app allows me to zoom in on particular objects, which makes it clearer for the people I ask, they don't get distracted. And even though I have my point it down cold, the app gives me an index of most objects and categories, so finding them is quick and easy. The index is in six languages so someone who is trying to explain something to me and who is not as familiar with the app like me can look up the objects himself. However, you might want to be careful giving your phone to someone on the street... Finally, what I find also really useful are the maps. If I'm in a remote area, I don't have UMTS and can't access Google Maps, so having maps on the phone itself is handy. All in all, a great app that every traveller needs to have!

This is a world traveler MUST. So a picture is worth a thousand words OR saves you an embarrassing search through a phrase book only to mispronounce what you desperately want. Thank you Point It!! Wish I would have discovered this app/book years ago. A must for anyone traveling to another country where the language spoken is not their own. In a panic, or in a pinch, or for fun this is a life saver. I already own the book (old and new version) and now having the app is just perfect. This covers it ALL. Don't leave the country without this gem!!

When you're desperate for a restroom in a place where no one understand your language, you'll this little app indispensable! I had the little booklet for years during my travels, permanently bonded to my passport until it wasn't anymore after which I found out they made out of it! Genius! Now it's even more portable. Download this app - best $3 you'll ever spend whether you're a neophyte or a seasoned traveler.

I have owned the printed version for many years and also the old app. This heavy watermarking is absolutely ridiculous and makes the app very user unfriendly. Get rid of the watermarks please.

I'm a huge fan of the book! So having said that, I understand the authors wish to make sure his photos aren't stolen by someone else, but the watermarks are really distracting and make the photos much less usable for what was intended. Also what would be great would be a search function where you could type in tags.

The app is merely a scanned version of the physical book. The app has a good index, but the pictures are heavily watermarked and lack resolution. If you own a copy of the book you'll get better results by taking pictures of all pages with your own iPhone.

The watermarks really make this difficult to use. There is no search feature. The orientation is locked in horizontal.

The is a great idea and the book is super cute and useful, I've owned it for years. I just bought the app, opened it and saw these stupid watermarks on EVERY SINGLE PAGE. Frankly, it's so ugly and distracting, I'd like a refund... Nobody's going to steal your photos, paranoid, you own the copyright...

So disappointed to find out all photos have a huge watermark that makes it difficult to 'point' at what you need . Huge letdown

Can't zoom in the photos and all the photos have a huge annoying watermark. Really difficult to use, I just ended up using Google images. Not worth the money.
