This is the easiest and greatest app i gal can ever pray for!Long story short my phone line had been suspended not bc my phone bill wasn’t paid but bc the persons name my phone bill is under had a disagreement with me and out of petty and demonic wanted to prove how much power they had! So by the time I woke up the next morning not just mine but my daughters iPhone and my 2 younger boys iPads lines were all suspended. Its great but a few fixesI have a twin sister that lives in a different state then me, she has a real phone while i have a iPod. I didn't have a phone number until i got this app, it works for other apps sometimes when it says phone number, U CAN ACTUALLY USE THE PHONE NUMBER FOR CLARIFICATION ON DIFFERENT APPS! I was excited about this until it got logged out of my account. And if i told all of my friends that i got a new phone number every other week then that would just be weird. So if you were to get this I would recommend remembering your password or buying your phone number, but i think you have to pay for it every month. There are also A LOT of ads, every single time you text someone you have a ad pop up, every single time you call someone there is a video ad. And if you want to go ad free then you have to pay for it, EVER WEEK. Or if you pay more then its ever month. If you don't want to to deal with all of this then i would recommend getting a different app. Overall of these bad stuff I think its a pretty good app. Ps. This app was good but now garbage / updated reviewThe app worked great when first purchased but when I restored my subscription and paid Apple everything was fine and received premium features other than advertisements that clogged the app making it unusable. I clicked “restore purchases “ but that button in the app did not work. I clicked purchase monthly premium button but was stopped by Apple saying you already purchased this premium service. I worked with Apple support on the issue this app was having in restoring the purchase. The problem was a complicated issue where my old TextMe account was deleted since I had discontinue the service earlier. When I clicked the restore purchase there wasn’t a TextMe account to restore to. This was not to fault of the TextMe team or Apple. What I need to do was wait now until the restore time-out which will be a couple of weeks, make sure this old purchase is cancelled, then log out the Apple Media account, reboot my iPhone and log back in. Then I can purchase a new TextMe account (do use the old one) and complete the purchase. This issue is not related to the TextMe app or Apple. It is just one of the got you things that can happen to a complex system. The TextMe team was good in responding and providing support!!.GeodovVersion: 3.34.13

When it works….So when this app works it’s not too bad but as of lately this app has made me want to throw my phone at the wall 😡 I am not happy that I am paying for a service that only works maybe 50% of the time and support says to make sure the app is up to date to everything!!!!! It is UP TO DATE it automatically updates anytime there is one. I even tried this on my husbands Samsung Flip though maybe it was just my phone but it did the same exact thing!!! If you have to push any kind of number while on a call just forget it you can sit there and push 1 over and over and over again and it won’t work. Looking for second number to use for verification???Hands down THE BEST for verification purposes I have tried a million different “phone” apps and every time I need a verifiable number I get rejected aside from this app! It works every time. Which is amazing considering I don’t always like using my number and it just adds that extra level of security when doing things online for me anyway. Ok another plus is there aren’t a lot of ads like most I have tried to use every two minutes literally you have to watch an ad but again not this app. Plus there is also the option to pay a small dollar amount to completely remove ads if you plan on using this more often then not. Unreported Plan cancellingWhy does this app keep kicking me off while on a subscription and forcing me to buy a higher paid subscription. it should not show me paying for a subscription in my apple account, and have me cut off saying i am a free member in the app. if you raise pricing, it should be communicated like any other app through apple and should only raise at next payment after i ageee. Too Many AdsThis is an ok app, but there are wayyyyy to many ads. I see ads just pop up randomly when I’m trying to text. It won’t let me touch anything, it just freezes up. Ads at literally the worst things ever invented. Listen if you don’t care, go ahead and try this app out, once you try you will come back and thank me I told you ads were the worst. If you like ads, you know, when they pop up every once in awhile, maybe once every 10-20 minutes, we’ll on text me it’s every second, they never go away, and I thinks it’s dumb to get them removed with money, they shouldn’t be there, how come IMessage doesn’t have one single ad? Very great app!App is very easy to use and I get to have an additional number for my purpose! I love that I even get to choose my own number from about 4 options!! I enjoy its letting me build up credit score to earn points; it is a very excellent function to have! Honestly, there is nothing of this app that I can complain about. I do have a question though. There is a section called “Grant of Limited License” within the Terms & Conditions that states, “Subject to these T&Cs and our relevant User Agreements, We hereby grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable license for access and use of Content, Products and Services.” Does being “non-exclusive” mean that this number will be given to a different user once my premium subscription expires? Limitation 500 text per monthAs advertised, it says UNLIMITED TEXTING AND CALLING. After months of using this app, it was bought from another company and then asked to download a new application. Overall i have enjoyed the service. But the deal breaker for me is that i use it for work. Answering Advertisement and Responding to customers. This has stopped my ability to work. I attempted to pay 7.99 for unlimited everything and no ads. Reading the Terms and Conditions, the LIMITATIONS say that each user is allowed up to a total of 500 Text messages per month. This happened to be a busy month and now i have stopped communicating with customers for a few days thinking it was a service issue and then had to read closely to understand that they lied about the advertisement and i will be reporting this to apple development to hopefully helping to resolve this issue. PerfectI needed a second # so that when I was off the clock I could simply stop all the late and early AM calls from drivers needing dispatch throughout the night on nights I wasn’t on the clock. Good and worseI’ve been using text now for over 3 years now and they limited service on my account because of activities on my account and I haven’t done any illegal activities on my account that went against their policy and I paid for 3 numbers and my account was limited. I had to connect their customer service and all they could say is they can’t do anything further because the block on my account is automatic and they can’t see the reason my account is banned. I opened another one and they did the same thing 2 days after. My question is what happens to our business on our accounts? Best app for calling that I’ve found.I use it to call my grandpa (who is 90, has dementia, and doesn’t use any social media or messaging apps) on his home phone in another country three times a week. It would cost me a fortune to do that on my regular phone plan but with this app it’s affordable and the call quality is great! Half of my texts and calls don’t come through and the ones that do give me NO notification unless I open the app and check mailbox. Great for call&textI’ve used ALOT if not most of the texting apps offered due to living in a town with virtually no cell service. This app takes the place of cell and land lines. Until recently getting a job that required I had a landline set up, this was the only thing I used to receive and make calls from home. Most apps require you to watch videos or complete surveys, etc to earn credits to make calls. This app allows you to call anywhere without credits. SCAM DOESN’T WORK AS ADVERTISEDExpect nothing in this world for free this company steals your information and sells your information and your contact list as it states its terms and conditions on the sixth page all the way on the bottom. I signed up for the free trial and it will not allow me to make calls and this is the premium free trial. It would not allow me to make calls or text messages. This company boasts that they’ve been in business since 2011. And I’m sure they’ve been scamming people for just that long. Don’t believe the reviews at five and four stars. The app is horrible. The mechanics of it do not work correctly. You’re paying for your services and they are making money as you watch and listen to their advertisements. You have to close out your entire phone in order to skip an advertisement and there have been times that the advertisement came back up and started playing the same exact place one advertisement was 3:48 long! maybe a five or 10 second advertisement would be worth it to some people for those of you that are relying on this for business. It’s not a safe reliable alternative to getting a cheap phone for free from a company and getting a $20 a month plan. Begging and Buggy AppSo it all started when I downloaded the app called TextMe, I called people, people that I know. And sometimes people I do not know. By the way, I am over 4 years old. I sent an email a week ago and still no response. Not surprising really. If I could give this zero stars I would. When I tallied up the message count over the last month I had received 48 more message than I sent. This made no sense. Unfortunately, we have no way to manually override this block nor do we have an ETA on when the pause will be lifted.” So I have been blocked for a specious reason and they can’t override it. Taking my money monthly but can’t use it due to pop upI am a monthly subscriber unable to use the app as every time I open it, a pop up asking me to select a new US or Canadian number blocks using any further part of the app. I do not want to choose another number as I finally did this before to get rid of the pop ups and I was hounded with unsolicited calls. I have been in conversation with their customer service for months over this and asked them to refund me for the months I have been unable to use the app due to this issue. They told me I had to go to Apple to get a refund as it’s an apple Subscription. They then claimed it was the device (an up to date iPhone less than a year old!), but I have since changed devices and the problem persists, so that excuse isn’t working for them anymore. They also told me to delete the app and download their sister site FreeTone, but this will cost me $1.99 and there is no way I am giving this company a cent further when they are charging me every month but the app is unusable. Also, before I subscribed, my number would periodically disappear, even though I had paid to keep my number, which is why I ended up subscribing and why I am still trying to resolve this, as changing my number will be very difficult. WORST I HAVE EVER USEDI wanted to give it no stars, but they are making me give it at least one. I got this app and PAID to secure a phone number, I also PAID MONTHLY for the service. I did this for my job, so I wouldn’t have to have two cell phones. My first day of work, they blocked me from sending any texts! I thought the app is called “TextMe”?? When I asked them what happened, they told me I was sending too many texts. I told them I am a mobile groomer, and I text my clients to let them know when I’m on my way, and I text them to let them know when I have arrived so I don’t ring the doorbell. Their response to that was simply “you can delete your account (with instructions how to), but we cannot delete it for you” (??) I did not want to delete my account. I asked them if I could pay more to use their service, and once again they replied that they can’t delete my account for me I have to do it myself, followed by “we have nothing further to say”. After that, they blocked me from making and receiving phone calls!! It could have easily been a five-star rating.I’ve been using this app for over three years now! Not anymore! It’s been an incredibly long and reliable experience. I’ve absolutely loved this app, and for the most part, it offers more than other apps. Don’t get it if you don’t wanna pay.My dad got this app for me, and set it up with his email and such. It worked for me for a very long time quite well, there was a horrible amount of ads though. It was free. I did manage to keep my number for a long time, until one day it said you must text or call within 24 hours to keep your number. Which, okay, they have to make sure you are still there. Until, I forgot to renew it, and I had to choose a new number. Okay, it’s my fault. So I chose a new number, and it lasted me a while. Until one day, that same thing popped up; you must call or text within 24 hours to keep your number. So, I texted my sister like, 10 times. The next day, it says I didn’t call or text, so I had to choose a NEW NUMBER!! This is when I started to get angry, I chose one anyways. And the next day I came back to realize that I didn’t have that number anymore?? So I went to choose another one, and I did, and it said that I had 15 minutes for it to be on hold, so I COULD PAY FOR IT. I deleted the app afterwards and am downloading TextNow. I do think that they had a limit of free numbers you could have. And it was 2?? I mean, I know you must make money some way, but if you are going to advertise your app as “free” at least tell people that you have a limit of numbers. It did last me a while and it was okay for that timespan. Very deceptiveThe description claims that calls and texts are free. This couldn’t be further from the truth. After downloading and selecting a number, I was sent a text and went to retrieve it. I received a message that I had to pay to secure the number for a week to view the text. This is on top of receiving what felt like pop up ads navigating to pop up ads navigating to pop up ads. I thought I had a virus it was so bad. So I tried purchasing credits which left me still unable to view the text. I then purchased a week trial and could finally view the text. I sent support a message asking for a refund of my purchases since the description said free and I received a speedy response confirming that calls and texts were free and asked me to send a screenshot of the issue. So I sent a screen shot of the block I received showing that it forced me to purchase a week to see the text. I received another speedy response confirming that I had to pay for a week and that credits do not work in the app. So I again asked for a refund and no longer received that speedy response I had become accustomed to. I guess everyone went home for the day. If you don’t mind paying $6 a week for a paid subscription to get free texts and calls then this is the app for you. They lost all my info and did not fix itMy app has been freezing for the past months and I’ve had this app number for over a year. UnprofessionalI tried this app out for a short while. It works. I continued to use it and decided to purchase it long term for my business! I acquired quite a following with over 350 clients. I purchased the unlimited option where I could call & receive unlimited calls & text messages. Suddenly I was unable to call out. The company still charging me for the app. I contacted them on the original complaint & they said there was an unusual amount of activity on the account so they shut it down & there is nothing more they can do for me! Using that phone number to sign in to social media is unusual? What part of it is unusual? And they didn’t even say what it was or offer to take off their “Limited Services” to my account or even give me my refund! They just outright cancelled my plan without reason. 2.5 Stars- Premium service Relatively okI’ve been a premium user for the past 2 months or so. I wanted to give a fair review of the paid version as I don’t believe in complaining about free apps. I’d honestly said that this apps is totally worth the monthly premium subscription. Prior to doing so, the ads were extremely annoying and got in the way. Since subscribing, the performance has vastly improved. HOWEVER, I have two major gripes about the app that is making me consider discontinuing the usage. I’m a healthcare worker and wanted to try this out as my work phone was discontinued due budget preservation methods. And this way I’d be able to preserve as much work life balance as possible. 1- Group chats are limited to only 4 participants. When my clinical leadership sends the team messages, I receive everyone’s responses separately. And when I reply, it only goes to 4 members of the group. Likewise when I start a group message, it gets separated into groups of 4. Expanding the group chat capabilities would be awesome; maybe add that as a premium feature? 2- When answering incoming calls, my line gets muted when I’m on wifi. I’ve had to switch to my cellular data in order to have consistent calling experiences. I submitted a ticket for help but they weren’t able to tell me anything that wasn’t a “typical” solution I hadn’t tried already. 3-I’ve also been told that my messages sometimes come up weird but they are received which matters the most. 4- No video chatting options. Blocked Phone & Text.I’ve been using this service for several months and on too many occasions I found my phone and text blocked because they said I was making bad calls. Useless app and deceptive billingIf there were negative stars, that’s what this app would get from me. I downloaded this just for a moment after having deleted it over a week ago, so I can leave a review and warn everyone about the app and its developer. This app purports to provide a working phone number that at minimum would allow me to send, and receive texts, and one text actually went through. Then, the app required payment of $1.99. Once paid, the app never worked again. I don’t even know if the phone number was active. After one week, the weekly charge went up to $6.49, but I continued to in vain to troubleshoot. The app never functioned again besides the one free text. Worse, unlike every subscription service I’ve ever paid for, this app doesn’t actually charge until about five or six days into a subscription period of 7 days. Thus, the undiscerning user might fail to realize they are not entitled to a refund, as the charges are NOT renewal charges, but compensation charges for time in the past. Since the app did not perform any real function, the only time I spent in it was trying to get it to work. Advert-paloozaWhat used to be a fairly zippy app a year or so ago now often crawls (and crashes) due to the density and types of ads featured. The developers have definitely sought to maximize their revenue one way or another with the increased number of ads running at any one time, at the cost of the app’s overall functionality. I imagine there’s a method to their madness, as the frustration for some users leads them to upgrade their plans to avoid the ad-related slowdown, while the remainder are involuntarily monetized and struggle under the app’s current crashing/stuttering. For those who want a better understanding of what I mean, at any given point, you can expect 3-5 active ads while using the ‘free’ version of the app. Some ads will be located along the sides, one larger ad usually pops up permanently under the space where a user will tap to input their texts, and one or two smaller ads will often be interspersed within the text message conversation itself. One of the ads along the side often includes some sort of video component or slideshow picture collage to it, which seems more resource heavy. Now imagine getting a text/push notification, opening the app, and waiting for all those ads to attempt to simultaneously load at the same time. It’s like The Three Stooges all trying to get through the door at the same time. The user is left either twiddling their thumbs, dealing with an appreciable, consistent input lag on their keyboards if they press the issue right way, accidentally tapping an ad that has loaded and changed the composition of the screen, or watching the app/device lock up and hard crash. Imagine this EVERY time you open the app. At this point, having experience with a few other similar apps, I can 100% say that there are better choices out there than TextMe, for those looking. 2 bars and the app goes to trashI paid for premium. The app is OK as far as features and usability. However, if I have two bars I can’t answer incoming calls and the app basically freezes. A normal call through the iPhone has no issue. Last TextMe Updates killed phone callsI have had this app for years and it was beyond great. The last few months of updates have severely impacted the apps call functionality. I have experienced the same thing as user gverbn. After the call connects, at any point within the 1st 3 minutes the call will show as connected but there will be no sound. These last updates seemed to have intentionally crippled the app’s usefulness as this was not a problem before last years update and has not been fixed in any of the most recent. I hope this is something that does not indicate the end of this app, but I have already started looking else where just in case. Not great, but works for occasional use.I used to use this app as my main texting app. However, there are a few glitches that make it less than ideal and also make me reluctant to try the paid version. Firstly, you can’t unblock anyone; once they are blocked, even if you unblock them in the app, you will never receive a message from them again. Which is great if the person you’re blocking is a toxic ex, but if you just need a break from someone (e.g. annoying relative, or during an argument) or patch things up with someone you blocked this isn’t ideal. Secondly, notifications are inconsistent. Sometimes I don’t get notifications at all. Sometimes I get them a day or two late. Sometimes I get them immediately. No clue why, as I’ve checked my settings and couldn’t find anything to cause this. But it’s counterproductive in a texting app and needs to be fixed before I’d be willing to try the paid version. Thirdly, the ads in the app sometimes randomly block the entire screen or suddenly pop up while you’re typing and cause you to click on them accidentally. It’s a lot better to convince your customers that you have a great product that’s worth paying for than to annoy the snot out of them and cause them to have to close and restart the app multiple times during a text just to finish the message. Fix the other issues and maybe more of us would be willing to try the paid version. Dumpster fireI understand that because it is a free app, you need ads to fund the usage, but I get ads almost every time that I exit one person’s text feed to the next, which was very frustrating because they were often long ads that took up a lot of time or actually sometimes covered the space where you can see what you are typing. Another problem that I had with this app is that I loose my number when I don’t use it for what seems like a day. Yes, they text you warnings, but you can’t see those warnings if you are asleep and you have little time to fulfill them. I woke up this morning to check what my friend had texted me on that app because she has a real phone number and I do not. I try to get in, but then I see a screen that says “your number has expired! Please Choose a new one!” And when I go to choose a new one, it does not look like I will be able to get a completely free number with no plan. Stopped working in middle of convo, terrible customer serviceI have 2 numbers with TextMe, and you would think paying $20 a month I could get some customer service, but you’d be wrong. The app is sometimes wonky but nothing I previously couldn’t overlook, because I live in Mexico but need US phone numbers. Sometimes I can’t make calls or texts or accept them from some businesses, I assume they have systems that don’t allow for VOIP, but most of the time no worries and when that happens I’ve almost always been able to work around it. However, yesterday in mid conversation my phone stopped sending texts through this app. To any number except the official TextMe number which goes through just fine. I can receive but can’t respond. To anyone. I don’t call very often so I’m not sure if it’s TextMe or if it’s to a place that doesn’t accept VOIP but I had 0 success in phone calls yesterday as well. The app just says can’t send, tap retry to send, and I can tap all day but it won’t go through. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, same.
