It's just like a regular walkie-talkieThis app is pretty fun to use and communicating with people around you or just about anybody. You can even pick up people talking in different languages or all kinds of different people. You can go on any channel you want to just like any walkie-talkie those. Also, for those of you who keeps complaining that somebody keeps getting on your channel, just change the frequency of the channel! It's seriously is not that hard to figure out. For those of you who actually have had a regular walkie-talkie, it's no different. It's obviously what happens. I needed to say that because when I was looking at reviews of this app, people kept on complaining that it was being interrupted by people. Some people just do not know at all! I guess some people did not know, anyway. Back to my review. There are some words that should be done using voiceover screen reader that is when you want to change your channel or whatever. This also happened on one of the options were just says button instead of the actual thing. Overall it is really fun!.Version: 4.1.2
Two wayThis is working well. It requires all users to have the app “open” in the background. Haven’t been able to figure out how to make it open when called by someone unless it is running already. It also requires users to put a bullseye on the map where your group is located. That is a one time deal and no worries. Everyone in your group has to select a common operating “channel” which is a number you choose. Very simple and just a one time deal. Pretty good app Would hope in the future that it can tell you there is traffic with an alert so you can open the app if you are called..Version: 4.1.2

Great AppI think this I an amazing app that will let you and help you with staying in contact with others. I’ve tested this myself from 3/4 miles away and it works just as fine. For anyone that needs an easy app to talk on with others I highly recommend this. The private pin you can use for private radio communication is my favorite because it adds security when talking. If it was available when my phone is locked but with the app “open,” it would be better. Other than that, overall a very good app..Version: 4.2.0
FantasticThis is great. Especially for festival season. Just one thing I think would be great is if someone were to use the app and it notified anyone else with the app on the same frequency when their app isn’t in the background. You get it? So if I wasn’t using it but someone wanted to talk to me on my frequency I’d get a notification saying someone’s using the app or something like that... I guess that’s like integrating contacts. Change your frequencyIt's really easy to use. My wife and friends never have anyone interrupting. We set our own frequency and we all set our app to it. There's tons of numbers to make up your own. Super simple to use. Hope this helps those who don't know how to use it..Version: 4.1.1

Need helpSo pretty cool, seems to work but it’s intermittent. If my phone is asleep for too long, I don’t get incoming sounds for message alerts or messages. If I’m in the app, or on my phone they come through. And then I put my phone sleep and they come through for about five minutes or so and then they stop coming. Please help!.Version: 4.2.0

Very good - Here Are InstructionsWe needed something in our house because my husband has become hard of hearing. He's usually in one room and I'm usually in the room that is adjacent to it, and if we want to talk to each other I can hear him but he can't hear me. It was driving me crazy! Short of getting him hearing aids, an idea he was not embracing, we needed to do something easy to allow me to save my vocal chords from yelling all day long. Carrying real walkie-talkies seemed very impractical, but we always have our phones with us. The app is free, so I figured we had nothing to lose to try it. I will agree with everyone who has complained that there are no instructions, because we were getting other people trying to talk to us… NOT acceptable. And even though one might be careful of what one says over this device, I got sick of this one woman who kept trying to talk to me EVERY time I said something. Not to mention that it is no one's business what we say to each other. The app does say that you can talk to only those people to whom you want, and it seemed intuitive that, like a ham radio or any communicating device via radio waves, that both of you have to be on the same "frequency." Considering that this app only has three buttons (well, four buttons if you include the TALK button) it seemed obvious that the icon with the little squares that pulls up a number had to be the way to "change your frequency." This is where it is very annoying that NOTHING is mentioned as to the correct number to choose, to make it private. Must it have all six numbers? Are certain numbers not going to work? Must it be within a certain range of numbers? And on, and on… It wouldn't have killed the developers to give the user a couple of sentences explaining what to do with the three buttons! This is where it lost a star from me. Anyway, it was easy to see that the geographical location should be put to our area, and that was easy to set. You just hold down on the map until your location is set to the center of the crosshairs. It can be just a rough guess, and it will work. As for resetting the number, we just chose an arbitrary six digit number to replace the one it comes with. Ours just happens to also start with a 3, so don't know if that makes any difference but I doubt that it does. Now that we have done that we have no more interferences from anyone else talking when we have the app turned on, and we are very happy with it. The range it will carry between you and the other phone is amazing. The farthest we have used it so far is about 10 miles in the city of Phoenix, and it was loud and clear on both ends. If you have a need for an app to do something like what this does, go ahead and get it, and you will love it. I hope my simple explanations will help some of you who are having trouble with the "no instructions" issue. Great app!.Version: 4.1.1
