One fix needs to be madeThis is a great app although I agree with billyjoeee about how you should figure out (fix rather) the searching for old messages thing. I need to see old messages to get important information and am unable to do that because it is not easy to just search for the first messages and find them directly. Hopefully this can be fixed... I know many who do not like this and want it to be fixed as well and many who will not speak up and write a review may think the same. Don’t want to go through having to pull out a laptop (that i never use... mostly on my phone, as are many, we’re in 2018 ...) and it would be more effective if you would just fix this issue so that we could have easy access to older messages dating even years back (that may contain important information that one needs to use...). Also. Upon opening a conversation and typing the app brings itself back to the home page ( where all conversations are) and I have to reopen that person’s message and start all over. don’t know if others have this problem... might be my phone?... Next. When I send a message it shows automatically that that person is active when I know it is not the case. Another bug?... Overall amazing app though other than those three little teeny bugs. Recommend this to many who have friends they want to keep in contact with but do not have their phone number. Contacts with ole family and findingYou guys are the best I can type in someone’s name and all I have to do is put family abbreviated and old people and oh my goodness there’s so many people in the world that kinda have the same names, but you guys are giving the descriptions of each variety and all the names this computer system is absolutely beautiful and amazing. I found so many of my family members that I have lost contact with over the years. I have a 20-year-old daughter 16-year-old son 12-year-old son 14-year-old son nine-year-old son and a four-year-old son I have a lot of children. My time is really tied up in these last 25 years over 25 years. I’ve been working and just not had the time I love it. This thing is so beautiful within 15 minutes. I can contact four of my family members and people and my day is so much better. I love this system. I love this how it works you guys. I don’t know how you do it but your computer system your relationship system is absolutely beautiful thank you and God bless and Godspeed to you all. Green circle. FB profile circleMy review surrounds the use of the little circles too but not the green one, the one that shows the FB profile picture inside the little circle (it becomes the entire circle). It drops down by my sent message to supposedly indicate that the recipient read my message. How can a prior message be read but right after that I’ve invited the recipient to use Messenger. We’re they not Messenger app users at the time? If not, how did they come to read my message? Did they view it on a desktop? What I’ve noticed is that the “reader” recipient is a person I expected a response from. As a result, I put my dependency that FB is indicating a read receipt and I am simply ignored. So then without any additional information from Facebook and no response from recipient, I ended friendships because I won’t deal with being ignored. So in hindsight did these people deserve my frustration? Did they read that I won’t stand for being ignored, that they are rude and arrogant enough to read my message but then elect not respond? To me? Or is that they never used the app. They may have clicked on something which caused the little circle to indicate read receipt but they never actually read it? What if their kids opened it on desktop but no one actually read it. Is the desktop version considered an app? If not, does the app or lack thereof indicate read receipts regardless of whether recipient actually saw the message? Good but not greatI use the app more than I actually text. For the most part, I enjoy it. However I’m the kind of person that doesn’t like to keep unnecessary texts. It’s just kind of overcrowding for me. So I like to delete any texts which are unimportant. This is an issue because 1) the texts will say deleted but they aren’t, even after restarting the app, restarting my phone, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. And 2) because you can only delete one text at a time, it takes forever for me to filter out unimportant texts. I like to try to keep only texts with important messages about situations, events, reminders, etc. so it’d be great if we had the option to select multiple texts to delete all at once as well. Another issue I’ve been having that I hoped would be solved in the update along with the nondeleted “deleted” texts is the lag. I have this problem with both my Facebook and my messenger app where it lags on multiple occasions and sometimes the lag becomes so overbearing that it causes the app to shut down entirely. And then there’s the case of when it shows I’m active. There have been numerous times where I’ve gotten friends and family angry because they believe I’m ignoring them when they have something important to tell me because the app shows I’m either active or it says active five minutes ago and I havent actually been on since almost twelve hours ago the night before. Fix this please. There’s no reason these simple things should be messing up. Is expecting the video calls or the gif search to act up, not this mess. Terrible.I am totally blind and a voiceover user on an Apple iPhone. I have used messenger for many years and have been very thankful for it, but the last several updates have had the same issue. They were resolved until the next update, and then Messenger was broken again. I am still able to type in text fields and access various information in the app, but messenger jumps up to the previous page of messages and continuously reads down until it gets to the end. I can’t hit the back button to leave my current chat. I can’t get into a text field, I can’t do anything once it starts reading, and while it is reading, and I’m trying to type or anything, it is entering random letters under my finger, but because voiceover is very slowly reading down the last two or three pages worth of messages, it isn’t telling me that I’m inputting things so that if I don’t check, when I send my next message, it’s full of gobbledygook. I can’t stop it from reading or see the current text field that I am in without leaving the app completely and re-entering it again. Love our Red Light Therapy Band!My husband and I have been using our red light therapy band daily since Feb. 2025. Ok, I’m daily since then and he is daily since May 😉. In the beginning we used it for strains and degenerative disc disease. Then in February I began having gallbladder pain. At least that’s what the drs thought I had. A Functional Medicine Dr. was able to diagnose in JUNE that I have a virus that is causing problems with my gallbladder and other organs. Poor EthicsI have always hated the app from the moment i downloaded it, it is so frustrating to use and completely unnecessary as any other social media has a messaging tab already installed. i find it interesting that you NEED it to message people through FB, ig another way to profit off of and it makes it easier to grasp more people’s data through conversations. However I’m deleting for many other reasons. Far right censorship with Meta is absolutely bonkers among far more. Opened my eyes to it growing up with facebook and hearing for years about the fact Meta has been in multiple legal suits for foreign corruption, bias news involvement, selling data abroad and yet they were still so greatly popular. Can’t get around using instagram, facebook, messenger or any meta products anymore due to the lack of care for the users security, the users data leaks and data being sold internationally, and far right bias censoring of media. This is the one app that has the most security breaches of ANY app i have ever downloaded. I will not continue to give you any engagement, scrolls or any space on my phone. I really like the way that Facebook marketplace works.I really like the way that Facebook marketplace works. Especially being able to look at the person’s profile to get an idea of who you are going to be dealing with. So so much better than Craigslist where it was getting overrun with scams and none trustworthy individuals. One thing that would improve Marketplace is it were a way that the people that ask for a deposit could have the money held until the transaction was completed and verified by both parties. That would weed out a lot of scammers who take advantage of the service it offers. But I also understand that in a setting such as this that there will always be people who take advantage of others as in everyday life. I’ve never feel prey to one thankfully but I’m sure a lot of trusting people have. And that’s sad. But you can be vigilant and not fall prey to those people by using common sense. Great but definitely could be better!Compared to previous versions of the app this is by far the best one but personally I think it would definitely be much better if a few things were changed on it. Even just the smallest changes could make it way better. Simplicity is key always. With this being said I think by making the main messenger screen less complex and having it to where you can go in the app and out quicker could have a great affect on everything including the ratings. Reporting identity, theft, and scamsWhat is multiple times that a friend of mine Debbie Strang ‘s Facebook name has been compromised however Facebook has not done a darn thing about it in multiple people have also reported it for her, I reported the profile multiple times pictures that were stolen from her Facebook page and now these people are sending me messages, wanting me to apply for some SBA program to try and get my personal information to scam me, and you people are not doing anything about this yet you guys have some kind of word tracker on Facebook that tracks certain words and are able to take down peoples post but you can’t for some reason shut down a scammers Facebook page. Now this Facebook page was created was created to duplicate her, but that they made the name, Debbie Ann Strang photos from my friends page to make it look like it’s hers yet they added a middle name, how you folks are not doing anything about this this is going on for like over four months already and nothing has been done and I report this page on a consistent basis with no positive results in my friend favor that is getting her information compromised including pictures of her cats, with all the new and updated technology that you have there is absolutely zero reason that you cannot shut this Facebook down and know that it’s set up for fraud, to gain her self financial information. Message deleting !!!I am not really into writing reviews , and don’t like to be negative ... They are plenty of other reviews with massive issues here , but the one I’m having problems with is deleting part of the messages in a conversation. If I have a chat with someone , and want to keep part of the conversation, but need to reduce it and delete some if it , it’s quite a choir !!😳😬 You have to take every single one , check it individually , and pass about 3 double checking questions before you can erase it . So if you have a conversation with about a hundred messages back and forth u want to delete, be prepared to spend quite some time to do that ! Could you guys go back to where we used to be able to check 50 of them at a time , and erase them in a block ?! Please !!! No notifications for requests & stuck Facebook notificationsI don’t use messenger much, but am part of few community groups like Buy Nothing where group members use messenger to communicate details about where to pick up items Being given away. Unfortunately, at present there does not seem to be an option to allow messenger to notify you when a request to communicate through messenger is received or accepted. This means when someone genuinely wants an item, they may appear to be unresponsive because they don’t realize they have a messenger request to communicate. it would be nice to have an option to allow messenger notifications around requests to inform people who aren’t already connected with about requests. Group chatsHi, Wondering why if FB owns WhatsApp why doesn’t the client behave the same in a group chat. If I am away from a group chat for a while in WhatsApp is picks up right where I left off when I comeback. Messenger just gives you this “20+ unread messages” thing and then takes you back sort of where you were but not quite as good as WhatsApp. Can you please fix Messenger to be gave like WhatsApp? MixedI am mostly enjoying the Messenger app in terms of its features and functionality. One of the ways I feel displeased with it is that, when I’m on Facebook and I casually tap on something that I’m curious about, just to see what it is, I suddenly find that I’m getting messages from the business that is involved. I want to be able to check something out without getting on someone’s contact list and receiving solicitations from them, as if I asked them to contact me. I want to be asked whether or not I want to be contacted by a vendor and not automatically have my contact info sent to be solicited when I simply wanted to take a peek at something that looked kind of interesting. This makes me want to avoid ads or anything that might be connected to a business. My other concern is somewhat related. It is the general distrust I have towards Meta regarding privacy, tracking, Etc. I feel like they’re always trying to see what they can get away with and often get caught overreaching and putting profit before respecting people‘s privacy rights. Screwed by sprint againSo went To my local sprint store to inquire about getting the iPhone X for $20 a month. Representative took care of me no problem gave me the iPhone X with a new line, new number. He then told me to return my iPhone 7 Plus by May 1 and I would only be charged the $20 a month for the iPhone X. Messenger keeps kicking me offFor the past three days messenger has literally been kicking me from the app nonstop. If I’m lucky I can get it to work enough for me to send maybe one message before it starts doing the same thing. I click the app to open it, it tries to open, then immediately shuts down. Over and over and over. And now when I do get into it, if it actually allows me to stay on the app, it no longer allows me access to my photos. I try to go to settings to allow access, but the app isn’t asking for permission in my settings. So I can’t even fix that. Retrieve those important features on MessengerI noticed that a few useful features on Facebook and Messenger were removed these days. (1) The new update to bury the buyer’s profile icon from an order is disappointing and useless. (2)The notification of receiving orders from Messenger now is gone. (3)Messages from potential buyers on Messenger automatically disappear after turning off the app (or after a particular amount of offline time.) As a seller, I always reach out to my buyers for delivery of their packages and, at least, say thank you for their purchase. I want to decide who gets stuck in message requests you have people stuck in there and I have to deliberately go in there to find them and then they get forgotten about cause I don’t realize they’re there. Make Messenger great againI use messenger for everything. Lately it has started to annoy me. Today when I open the app on a device I was not using, it is not synced and starts by going through the timeline of unread messages until it reaches today. Went from bad to better to really really badWell the title basically says it all. Anyway the recent iteration and abomination is the idea of selling ads on this hideous app. So now people are buying ads and selling them on Facebook messenger. It’s great, but…The app is great because of how often my mother has used it and it’s pretty good not going to lie! But once I downloaded it it was a disaster, I tried to make a account but I accidentally didn’t read one of the things they had to say so I pretty sure it was about synching the contacts so I didn’t read that and then when I was actually logged in I couldn’t search for my contacts because it said that “no results found” and my whole purpose of being on messaged was to talk to my family so now that was bulldozed by not being able to synch or search for my contacts. And I’m not able to make a new account because it said at the end about a Facebook account, and if I pressed that I didn’t have a account (which I didn’t) I would have to make one which I never asked for, nor wanted, so I was forced to get a account which I say this again… I NEVER WANTED, so then I just deleted the app whole because I NEVER wanted a Facebook account but I was forced to, I wasn’t able to get on messenger, and I just wish the sign up or log in was more simple. Messenger reviewThere’s no problem with the actual app itself. The problem is with 90% of people who use this app. I have a lot of experience with buying AND selling on marketplace. The majority of people don’t read the description and then ask you questions that you already answered in the add. 90% of people ask if it’s available. I tell them it is and then never hear from them again. I’m currently selling a $4000 motorcycle for $2000. Not a single person offered me anything close to my asking price. I get ridiculous offers from $500 to $1000. Overall it’s been a terrible experience. The same thing happens when I’m trying to buy something. I had all the cash I needed to buy someone’s car. They either don’t respond, or it’ll take days to get a response. I once agreed to meet up with someone to buy their car. Had to go to the bank to take the money out and drive 45 minutes to get to the car… once I got there the guy stopped answering his phone. Moral of the story. Don’t use marketplace.
