Facebook reviewAs an application, Facebook rarely if ever crashes, or doesn’t,t perform as expected. The ease of use isn’t solid and it has many useful features and uses. Communication and the ability to stay connected with friends and family is straight forward and easy to learn, even for older users. Simple feeds and posts are it’s hallmark. X on the other hand limits it’s posts with a short amount of space. Threads have improved Facebook to allow it to be competitive with Tik Tok, but it could use some improvements as far as screening racist content and how it goes about self-regulating itself. Too much misinformation is allowed to be posted and the reporting system needs improvement. Also, I have seen a huge uptick in scammers and fake accounts. Facebook has a reputation for allowing fraudulent advertisers and unscrupulous web stores. The level of trust users have ordering products from Facebook approved and sponsored companies is it’s Achilles heal. Too many scam companies and scammer accounts on Facebook leads to consumer skepticism and lack of trust buying products on-line. Artificial Intelligence will only get better in the near future and I don’t feel confident in Mark Zuckerberg’s ability to adapt and keep Facebook safe from bots, scammers, and nefarious AI entities. Facebook and Instagram account disabled for no reason why!?!FB disabled, Petra Ludwig account and we don’t understand why. On August 3 it was suspended due to suspicion of deception and fraud. It was appealed and came back on then again on September 3. It was suspended again for the same reason appealed and came back on then again exactly one month later on October 3 it was suspended again for the same reason only this time after appealing it it was determined that the account did not follow community guidelines regarding fraud and deception and we got a message saying that Facebook technology found the account to not follow community guidelines and deception and disabled the account and my Instagram account ( Payte_123 ) as well. I have never used this platform to be deceptive or for fraudulent reasons and I believe that there was a mistake in disabling this account. Is there any way I can get it back, please?! It says that you use the same technology for every account for everyone all over the world and that cannot be true because there’s no reason my accounts should’ve been disabled. I have had them since 2007 and it has caused me so much distress and anxiety since this has happened. Is there any way that anyone can help? Something is very very wrong with the situation. Sales RepFacebook didn’t give me an appeal and assumed I posted child porn after having an account for many years. My account was hacked while I was at work. Later, I noticed my account was restricted and FB alerted me that I posted child porn so they restricted my account. That same day, FB sent me an email to tell me to tell me that someone from a different device accessed my account from Folsom, CA. I did everything according to FB instructions to prove my identity and changed my password. Still, Facebook hid my account for over 7 months until they ultimately decided to suspend my account. I was hacked in July 2023 and Facebook restricted my account immediately by hiding my account so that all my friends thought I blocked them. All my photos and personal videos are all gone! All my friends thought I blocked and deleted them! I messaged FB so many times to explain that I was hacked. No response! I even got an email from Facebook to let me know Ithat I’m running out of time to appeal. What appeal? Whenever I logged on my hidden account, FB asked if I agreed with Community Standards. That is not an appeal, it’s a No-Win situation. It was a Agree and Disagree question. I agree. They never gave me room to explain that I was hacked. Scammers and Online BeggarsI love Facebook because it allows me to keep up with friends both old and new. I like that I can keep up with my family that live states away. The whole reason I joined Facebook was for that reason. It’s so disheartening how Facebook has turned into a platform for these so called content creators to scam strangers out of their money. Every single day several of these so called content creators are asking people who follow them to send money. They use deaths, kids , sad stories, and whatever else they can think of to get people to send money. They are nothing more than a bunch of Master Manipulators who prey on elderly , lonely and vulnerable people. Most of these people have absolutely no content but use their page just to beg. The way these so called content creators neglect and even abuse their children on lives is insane. Because these people bring drama and drama pays them money, their allowed to say and do whatever they want. Nothing they do ever goes against community standards according to Facebook. Facebook will remove other peoples post for ridiculous reasons but allow the scammers to come on and cuss people out, use drugs on lives and even make threats to people. Why I Love FacebookFacebook opened its door for folks who want to reach out to others such as creative people to showcase their talent, small and big businesses for their loyal and potential new customers, or individuals like myself who use Facebook as a gateway to communicate and keep up to date with my families who lives from a far. Prior to Facebook, my only means of communicating with my families was through long distance call which costs a lot since talking to them for ten minutes would not be enough. A thirty minutes to an hour call was expensive but I would do it at the time just so I could hear my families voices. I would call home every other month or longer depending on my budget. When Facebook came along I was apprehensive at first but eventually felt at ease knowing that as long as I am careful on what to post, who to befriend outside my closed knit families and friends, it is safe. I am truly grateful for Facebook because through it, I am able to call and even see my families through FB Messenger on a daily basis if I want to or every weekends (an amazing feeling knowing I can do it now for free. Thank you, FB). FB allowed me to watch my nieces and nephews growth process as if I was there with them; find long lost friends, and stay in contact with colleagues. FairnessFirst of all, I thought freedom was speech. Was one of the key components to what America is all about that’s what I’ve been told my whole life and taught. Facebook will put you in Facebook jail in a heartbeat. You have no chance to express your side of what had happened and whatever conversation you may have had with someone. They just see what is reported and don’t see what may have been said beforehand or what the topic may be. And if you comment on your friends post and it sounds like mean girl to them, they will remove your post and give you a warning again without any choice of defending yourself which we shouldn’t be having to defend ourselves when we are grown. I can see you doing that with children, but when it is grown adults, you don’t know the concept behind what is being said. Some people do bully as adults I get that but give that person that opportunity or chance to explain the reasoning behind their comment before assuming bad assumption. Thank you Facebook!!I have been an active member of Facebook since early 2009. In that time I have been able to find and connect with many friends, family members and business colleagues from around the world. Sharing photos, video clips and hilarious memes has been a lot of good fun but also news worthy news. I have seen the growth, the ups and downs and the evolution of many important Human Conditions. Including the challenges of basic Human Rights of my close friends across Ukraine. I lived in Kiev, Odessa and Mariupol in 2007 for a few months. I am very grateful for this amazing and open minded platform that Mark Zuckerberg has created for countless millions to enjoy from all over our precious planet. The borders and boundaries really seem to disappear when I join many useful groups and reach out to thousands of good people and families from nearly every nation in the entire world. Face DancesIt has become increasingly evident that Facebook is allowing a plethora of fake profiles to be established in the community whose sole purpose seems to be to reach out and engage strangers with almost the exact same script and approach enticing them to communicate off-line via a friend request or messenger text. Anyone with a reasonable amount of common sense and detective correlation skills can figure out that these profiles are transparent, vapid in fact and often misrepresent the gender of the individual being portrayed. These are a nuisance and a danger for those who are susceptible to this kind of thing as they often will turn into some sort of scam. I have identified numerous profiles back to Facebook, which are obviously fake yet more often than not. Nothing is done about the profile or account. This is disappointing, especially since Facebook seems to do a good job in monitoring for other exploitative, sexual, and harassment issues that also have become pervasive on a day-to-day basis. Very disappointing for those of us who use this as a connectivity platform, as well as used for regular engagement with friends and family. So much fraud and Facebook doesn’t do anything about itMy profile was hacked 4 months ago by a hacker that was “re-homing” puppies. They changed my password and blocked me from 10 years worth of my pictures and memories. Many friends were interested in rehoming the puppies so they reached out to me directly. Many others reshared the post because they know and trust me. I of course told as many people I could what happened and they all reported it. It came back as not against Facebook regulations. I’ve tried emailing, calling, reporting and nothing. It happened again a couple weeks ago. The hacker told everyone I’m moving and selling off many things. I had people from all over asking where I’m moving, if I’m getting a divorce and how much the items were. The hacker is preying on innocent people for money and has access to all of my information. This has happened to many other people I know and Facebook does nothing about it. Just have a way to delete the account that is fraudulent. They are quick to block someone for saying something wrong but not do anything about a person stealing money from people and using the person’s trusted friends and family to do so. Facebook is a nightmareDealing with Facebook Marketplace is an extremely aggravating frustrating experience. I posted an authentic Louis Vuitton checkbook cover and you would have thought I committed a crime!! I immediately got messages that my Marketplace account was going to be banned and I was almost expecting a swat team to show up at my house!! I see plenty of people posting Louis Vuitton products on Facebook Marketplace with no problem. I resent being treated a criminal posting fraudulent products when I have an impeccable 5 star rating on marketplace!!!! . I bought it brand new at Saks 5th Ave myself!! Then you offered me a advertising credit that when I agreed to use it Facebook decided to take it further and charge me over $100 for additional advertising beyond my credit which I NEVER authorized !!! Summer finallyAfter some time away I have rejoined the platform. I have a curious issue and it takes a keen intellect to figure it out. I had no idea there where so many opportunities in the marketplace. Also and hopefully I will reconnect with some friends and family. What a marvel idea. Sometimes people cross paths for a reason at the right time. It would be nice to follow that same line of thinking, some of my most memorable experiences have come that way as well. And drew you a smile. In all honesty it will be good to reach out to others. Now that’s been said it would be nice to hear from others that I haven’t seen for quite sometime. ReviewFB has become questionable to many of us. I have came on too many interesting articles that are valid, and whoever is running this show just simply does not have the knowledge and all the information that they have pulled thinking that it is false when in fact, there’s a lot of legit great information for all of us to learn from. I see good clean articles that are posted and they get pulled but somebody can post something that is very inappropriate and porn, nothing is done. I have seen people be very rude to the ones who are not causing any trouble and this has happened to me in fact, along with many others. I don’t know how your platform is run, but I think it would be very helpful if you hired knowledgeable employees instead of these who just guess what the difference is with being legitimate, and not being legitimate. FacebookYou wanted a review? Facebook is NOT what it was years ago. I opened a fb account and had my Business name Lotions Potions Notions on one account and another under my name. I wanted to have them separate because I am Pagan and there are Christians who think we are evil and do not hesitate to point that out to us. Fb gave us notice that we were no longer able to have two such accounts and gave me a very short time to move 500 customers to my private account. Nightmare to say the least. Out of 900+ fb friends I see about 25 posting. When I approve a new fb friend I see a ton of their postings as if they are my only fb friend and as a result I have to put the on unfollow if I put them on snooze I am literally flooded with their posts when their 30 days are up. Has a deleting hundreds of friends glitch or bugI had 4993 friends a few days ago and Facebook has a glitch or bug that is deleting friends . I now have 4733 . Every time I look there’s 20-40 more gone . And I have no clue who . They should add a feature that tells you who recently left your friends . Marketplace and Downhill SlideI HATE HATE HATE HATE the prompt “is this still available?” It’s such a waste of my time and encourages people to waste it! Over half the people that ask to buy something simply lose interest and stop responding. THAT question starts it. I have wasted hours of my life responding “yes” to that dumb question. And now the new template response, “yes are you still interested”?!? If they weren’t why did they ask to begin with?!? Questions I want to see are of buyers asking where and when to meet, etc or for more information, done. Fast and simple transaction. Not hemming and hawing for weeks. I know there are many other people like me who delete ads right after things are sold and are also frustrated by this, so PLEASE change it! Facebook is progressively becoming more of a clickbait ad site instead of a place to see and follow friends. Moreover Facebook is doing nothing about ad scams. I personally lost $80 from one of them selling inflatable kayaks I never got, and there’s a YETI one with fake Yeti bags they’re doing nothing about. Terrible AppOver the last year or two, this app has gotten worse and worse. 1) Almost 100% of the time, it does NOT accept any input emoji (thumbs up, smiley, sad, etc). 2) When you open up your notifications, and then close them, they USED TO no longe be highlighted, as if they haven’t been read, but over the last about year, that NEVER happens. You have to refresh the app to get the notifications to display that they have been read already. 3) When you reply to a post, it doesn’t show up without refreshing the app. 4) When you reply to a post, the reading pane goes completely wonky - it’s difficult to describe what it does, but you can’t even read the comments because it won’t scroll. 5) When you reply, more often than not, it won’t even let you reply. 6) When you reply, most of the time, it won’t even display a reply section, but let’s you type as if you are replying. 7) When you reply, if you try to reread the OP, your reply disappears, which requires you to close the app and reopen it and start all over again with your reply, IF it even lets you reply like stated in 4, 5, and 6 above. Can’t protect my privacyI hate the fact that I can’t delete my old profiles. My phone number changed a couple of times and I lost my passwords (and can’t retrieve my password because my phone number changed. A cycle that goes nowhere). Without either of these I don’t have access to my own account to delete it. One of my two accounts I don’t have access to has many old pictures and personal videos I want to keep private and not allow anyone access to anymore for personal reasons. But I can’t. Anyone has access to them now and there’s nothing I can do to stop it. I tried all their alternative ways to access my account. I did what was asked but was met with no response on FB’s side. So now FB has THAT personal information I submitted because they asked for it as the alternative way to access my account as well. But they didn’t respond. They just kept my information with that too. And I can’t get that information back either. I should be able to delete an old account to protect my privacy and feel safe. Facebook doesn’t allow this. Maybe they’re trying to keep their # of profiles up to keep looking attractive to the companies they do business with, so they make it hard or impossible to delete your own profile when necessary and they keep you locked out of it. Stay away; buggy app and support is impossible to findFacebook doesn’t care about its customers, other than counting them in an active users statistic. Their faulty AI algorithm (with Zuckerberg at the helm of the company, it’s not at all surprising the algorithm is faulty!) thinks it detected a login from a new device for my account. I’m given only one option to resolve the problem, to login from a device that I’ve previously used for Facebook. Problem is, when I try to login with any device that I’ve previously used, I get the same message. There’s no apparent way to prove I’m the real owner of the account. Lots of forum searches have reinforced that there is no way past this; I’m locked out of my own account with no way back in. I could start a new account, but that wouldn’t have my previous contacts or content. Here’s the really great part (sarcasm alert)… Facebook makes it nearly impossible to get support. They don’t have a support phone number or chat web page where you can ask questions; they only display static content. Apparently they don’t want to incur the cost of helping users fix the problems that their lousy product designers create. Some forums seem to imply that minimal support is available once logged in, but since I can’t log in, I can’t attest to that. Suspended for unknown reasonI believe that Facebook Pages Manager may be compromised. I downloaded it to try and manage my business pages a little easier and was informed later that day that a page which is not active and is unpublished so not visible to the public had posted something violating community standards concerning “child sexual exploitation”. I was horrified! I am a portrait photographer and there was an image on a separate page of a mother and her son, but it was not the page that was flagged. I believe I was hacked. I asked for a review and was told they might not have the manpower to do that. I did not have an opportunity to defend myself or explain that I believe I was hacked. Needless to say, I lost my personal account as well as a successful business page. I went about a month before I tried setting up a new account yesterday. I only set it up to access an educational Facebook group pertaining to my business and to shop on marketplace. The only information I put up were a profile picture and a cover photo and joined that group. This morning I messaged someone on Marketplace about a rocking chair they had listed being kid size. They asked me to confirm my phone number and I don’t know if it’s been flagged from my last account, but as soon as I did, I immediately received a suspended message. Talk about zero context. I’m getting really close to being doneFB is how I keep connected with all sorts of people I had lost contact with, but I’m getting fed up. The algorithms that decide what I see are awful and I miss I lot. I usually switch to the Recent view which does a better job, but still filters, but with every new release that gets more cumbersome to get to. Here’s an example: yesterday was my birthday, so I figured I’d see my birthday wishes at or near the top this morning. I saw several ads and then a ton of other stuff. I never did find them in my feed — I had to go to notifications and tapped on one of the notifications telling me I got a birthday wish which took me to my greetings. I’m sorry, but even if they weren’t birthday wishes, shouldn’t I be immediately seeing posts that just happened yesterday? One of my greetings had an avatar in it and a link for me to follow if I want to make an avatar too. I followed it and it said my app is out of date (which is strange since I have auto-update set on apps) and took me to the App Store were it did *not* show any updates to be installed. I deleted the app and re-installed it, thinking that should fix it, but it didn’t. Since FB has no customer support (I guess they think they’re perfect so they don’t need it) there’s nothing to do. Glitches and no fixes in sightI use Facebook primarily for the market place, which by itself is an awesome platform. It’s much more user friendly and less fee driven than Etsy. That is where the good ends I’m afraid. The app and messenger sidecar constantly have issues updating, showing correct information, presenting errors, not sharing between devices, and show “unread” messages. The updating issues stem from updated listing items. Items on discount don’t always show to the public. I get messages that there are offers on items or that an item has sold and marketplace won’t let me connect to those messages. You have to really really dig to find them. There isn’t a way to filter unread messages and a whole host of notifications give you an unread message notification. If I contact someone about their item and they sell it to someone else or mark it pending I get a message notification but unless I find the exact conversation, that someone sold an item on, it remains in the corner. It can be hard to keep up with actual buyers when the notifications are just red herrings most of the time. Their Approach to Account SecurityMan, where do I start with this. If I am going to be posting memories that I have experienced, I want two things. I want to be able to share my own history with others without getting hacked, and I want to be able to get in to my own account repeatedly and not loose access to all the memories that I have created over the years. As a user of this app, I did initially have both of these, being able to post memories while also having a password-secured account. Yet, in instances where I needed the password, which were few and far between, I not only forgot the passwords but couldn’t get the necessary reset, because the mechanisms for changing the password required the original password. I have had to create a new accounts and still don’t have access to the original account. The worse part is that my credit card information is still connected with that first account, and I have no way to change that. The only way that it can be changed is if my bank literally gets me a new card. That is how bad it is. Wake up, Facebook! It’s not the credit card company’s fault when a user of your platform isn’t able to put in their information onto it. So why don’t you fix this issue in your programs. Simply does not work. Worst app.Notifications don’t work. Quite often the notifications are for things that are days or weeks old, and no longer relevant. The search function does not work. The search function only ever gives you results that you don’t want. If there is a specific post that you know exists, the search function will find everything except for that. If you want to search for a specific person, you will get 100 people with that name, with no way to narrow it down to the person that you want. Don’t even try to contact technical support or customer service. Most likely, they won’t answer at all. If they do respond, they will send a canned response saying the problem is solved, even though nothing has changed. They keep adding new features that don’t work, and that no one asked for. Meanwhile, the core functions get worse with each new gimmick. People I know personally, and would like to interact with, I don’t see their posts. People I’ve never met, and can hardly remember why we are friends, I see all their posts whether I want to or not. I could go on for days about all the things wrong with Facebook. FairnessFirst of all, I thought freedom was speech. Was one of the key components to what America is all about that’s what I’ve been told my whole life and taught. Not the best platform for staying connectedBesides censorship, I get tons of advertisements and page suggestions on my feed, but not pages I actually subscribe too of friends and fan type pages I actually follow. Many of those pages have noticed there content isn’t getting out either. I Don’t even see things my own Mom post without going directly on her page. A friend got a strike on her page for sharing a safety video. Explanation from Facebook was she was only posting for likes and attention or something weird like that. I got a strike after a page I follow posted a huntsman spider infestation in a room of a house. They disabled my accountI woke up this morning to an email saying that an address email address have been added to my account click that wasn’t me and went to log into my account to have it removed. I got my account is suspended because an Instagram was linked that did not follow community standards. And to log into that Instagram to remove it and fix the problem. It is not in my Instagram and I do not have access to it. Facebook will not let me submit the forms with the pictures of my ID. From what I’m being told and found, when trying to research the problem is I need to purchase meta-verified to get my account back. I do not have the money to purchase Meda verified. Bias FacebookAs we all have felt was the bias of Facebook. Facebook help.My account was hacked/stolen and I worked for almost a week trying to restore it. Someone was allowed to steal my picture and pretend they were me and change my password and I was logged out and could never get back on. I was finally able to get several messages from Facebook trying to tell me how to sign back in but I was never able to get on because they wanted me to log in from another device and I couldn’t get on it either. I even , upon their request, scanned my drivers license for them to prove I was who I said i was. After all that I still was not able to sign in. After several frustrating days and numerous attempts I had to start all over. Sales RepFacebook didn’t give me an appeal and assumed I posted child porn after having an account for many years. My account was hacked while I was at work. Later, I noticed my account was restricted and FB alerted me that I posted child porn so they restricted my account. That same day, FB sent me an email to tell me to tell me that someone from a different device accessed my account from Folsom, CA. I did everything according to FB instructions to prove my identity and changed my password. Still, Facebook hid my account for over 7 months until they ultimately decided to suspend my account. Worst customer support ever!I’ve had the same FB account for well over 12 years and never had a single community guideline violation. I got hacked 4 days ago and they removed my original email address and phone number and changed my name and photo to a “well known public figure” and also set up a two step authorization with a physical security key so i literally had no way of accessing my account. I followed the necessary steps listed in the “help center” and even uploaded my photo ID and I still could not get into my account. I finally got approved into my account last night only to find out it was suspended due to multiple community guideline violations in regards to the “public figure”. TRUTH ABOUT METAI’ve had this app for many years (since I was like 12) I’ve had two accounts and the only reason I’ve kept it is because I want to be able to look at family members from Mexico, but honestly I’m about to ask them for their phone numbers and delete my profile. I hate the app, they are always suggesting things for me like dating ETC, they let creeps into my social circle. I hate how there are so many ads and how they spread misinformation. This is not the FB I signed up for. I miss MySpace and I wish I had stayed on tumblr more. CensorshipI’m not US based, but the manipulation and marketing being used to take down the competition goes far beyond disgusting. The algorithm for Facebook sucks because it isn’t based off of what WE like to watch, but rather, who PAYS to have their content seen. They’ll lure you in to the reels with something you may like, and then as you scroll, it’s 3 things you’d never watch by choice, ad, 2 sucky reels, then a reel you like - interrupted by an ad, then back to ones you don’t like. Oh want to view the comments? Sike! 70% of the time you can’t even view the comments on Facebook, you have to go to instagram to read comments… I don’t wanna go to a whole new app just for comments… then, if you can view the comments on Facebook reels, and you comment on the reel, or reply to someone, and close out of the video(s), a while later you may get someone who replied to you on the reel, you’ll see the notification, you’ll press on it, and you’ll just be brought to the video, with 1000’s of comments, and have to sift through every single one to find the one you made and find the reply to it. I’ve also reported MANY disturbing videos to fb that always come back as “doesn’t violate community guidelines,” even though they very well DO, even seen “grape” videos on Facebook, that I reported and it came back as “no violations.” The hypocrisy of this app is insane.
