Good game, not good visibility.Okay, to start out, I love this game. Like all puyo games, easy to learn, hard to master. Line up 4 blobs- puyos- of the same color and they pop. You're supposed to make chains with these, you don't get much from popping one and calling it a day. I personally play through the adventure mode- and it's no different with this game, since my favorite character from previous games, Sig, has a lot of plot relevance here (I will not say anything past that.) There are, however, SEVERAL issues with the game. Firstly, as of writing this review, only a few characters are available- Amitie, Ringo, Arle, Lemres, Suketoudara, Raffina, Klug, Feli and Maguro. You start out with only 3 and have to unlock everyone else. Secondly, The age rating. No puyo game should be rated at 4+ with Schezo around. (If you have played Puyo Puyo or Madou Monogatari, YOU KNOW THE PROBLEM.) I think it should be 12+ (I wouldn't go as far as 17+ since it isn't really a problem especially in this game) And lastly, please port it to other devices. This would be such a good way to get more people into puyo puyo, but you have to not only have an apple device, you have to pay around seven dollars a month for apple arcade. This game is obviously good, but answer this...Why is it unfinished? Don't get me wrong, these games are always fantastic (this one no exception). In fact, the problem isn't actually the game being unfinished; most of these games aren't super long (the main campaigns are usually 6 hours MAX), and in my opinion, having to wait for more of the story to release produces that feeling of a mix of excitement and anticipation of waiting for the next episode of your favorite television series to release. The actual problem is that this isn't what we were promised. The description of this game directly says you have the option to play with 24 different characters out of the gate, yet only 9 have been released so far. Nowhere in the description of this game does it explain that more main content was going to release, and the only way I found out that this was going to be the release style was by watching an exclusive trailer on SEGA's official Twitter (or X) that told us future content was going to release later on..Joey032906Version: 1.0

WonderfulI think it’s great! The fact that its arcade exclusive is a bummer, and there are some things I could nitpick, but as a whole it is a very solid entry for a new series. The story is engaging and easy to follow, the characters are easily understood even by newcomers, and though I do agree some challenge levels are difficult for newcomers, I think the main story is of reasonable difficulty! An Absolute DelightThe series has always been a ton of fun, and the ability to have it on this platform is wonderful. The whole game is true to the whimsy and fun of the Puyo Puyo legacy and it’s bright colorful menu, soundtracks, animations, models, and the stellar voice acting makes your forget you’re playing a mobile game. This game is not finishedI usually hate the whole “Game was released unfinished” thing since in most cases, it’s completely fabricated. But here, I think it’s warranted due to the amount of missing story content that will be added later on, alongside a pitiful roster of only 9 characters (That again will be updated) despite many if not all characters already showing up in story mode and being fully functional with chain animations, voice acting, etc. This is an asset dump of Puyo Chronicle, what happened? Doomed to fail but still a lot of funI wish this game had been set up for success, since it's a stylistic leap for the series and it would be a major comeback after the years of spinoff after spinoff, but being dumped onto apple arcade with little to no promotion and only promoted at all in a country the franchise isn't even well-known in is a cruel fate for this series. i wish it could've been different, but the content in this game is good enough (impressive touch control integration, meaty story mode) to warrant it at least given a look. maybe buy apple arcade for a month and give it a shot if you want the series to continue. show sega you care..NoraNiko665Version: 1.0

Fun to play, but has a few flawsI love the Puyo series, it’s kind of the hidden gem of SEGA games. This game was fun and not too hard to get a hang of, but seriously, Apple Arcade? If you’re trying to expand the series to a western audience, it shouldn’t be gate-kept by a subscription! Also, for some reason, the game will not launch on my iPhone SE. Impossible Difficulty SpikesThe AI used on some levels are so ridiculous that you can’t even play against the CPU. If you use fast drop the CPU will drop several puyos in the time it takes you to drop 2. Making them chain puyos like that can’t be good for newcomers to the series. The Crown Jewel of Apple ArcadeSEGA cooked with this one like crazy and it’s just update 1. This game single-handedly made me want Apple Arcade. Console Quality Puyo ExperinceSuper freaking happy with this! I’ve been a Puyo Puyo fan for over 20 years now and this is absolutely incredible to have on a phone. Beautiful character models, tons of unlocks, multiplayer, suites full of modes and having all that with a console level story mode that’s fully voiced by the VAs we love? Like I’m just dumbfounded that they put this much effort in considering some of the mobile versions I’ve seen. Good game, but why is this apple arcade exclusiveSo many puyo fans dont have the money to buy an iphone, ipad, mac or whatever else you can play this on plus play a recurring subscription just to play this game. on top of that, you lose access to the game as soon as you stop paying for apple arcade, and sega has a history of removing its games from apple arcade after some time. the only reason this game isn't selling as well as other puyo games is that it is exclusive to apple devices plus a subscription service. if this game gets the same treatment as other sega games on apple arcade this game could be gone completely in just a few years. even if its just a one-to-one port to other platforms please take this outside of apple arcade because placing it on this subscription-exclusive platform has killed it from the start.Mateo6d6Version: 1.1.0

Missing Gameplay AspectsI’ve been a Puyopuyo fan since I lived as an overseas student in the 90s, wishing it would one day get some love here in the US. Finally, it happens, but one thing I loved from older Puyo games are the special attacks each character had that made each of their playing styles unique and fun to use. The play field is already tiny but the developer decided to put borders on the top and bottom shrinking it down even more to the size of a postage stamp.
