Love this companyI was so pleased with the Meridian 157 series, I was disappointed when I finished the game. Then I stumbled upon this lovely new series I actually made a verbal “yes” out load. My GF looked at me like I was crazy. I really enjoy the puzzles, the story, the simple point and click aspect. For a phone game, I think it’s just perfect. On a side note, I just finished Myst mobile. Yes, it took me a few days to complete as I had never played it before. But once completed, I went back to do a speed run, and was done in like 20 minutes. I don’t have that feeling to keep playing it like I do with the games this company makes. Every few months, I’ll go back and play the Meridian 157 series and it almost feels brand new each time..SteveO_32Version: 1.0.4

InterestingI enjoyed the Meridian trilogy and so played through this one, even though it’s chapter 1 of an unfinished series. It is an above average point and click adventure, with several nitpicking elements that pull it down from five stars. 1. As other reviews have said, the puzzles make no sense. There’s no reason for the puzzles and locks to be there. And even less for your character to not already know all the combinations. 2. This company’s games lack the humor that excuses similar logic gaps in Glitch games, from whom they’ve obviously borrowed a lot of other mechanics. 3. Too many of the puzzles require wild leaps that no sane person in the situation would attempt. If the game was more self-aware, this wouldn’t be an issue. But in trying to provide lots of puzzles while also trying to create any feeling of reality, they step on their own feet. Are we supposed to be concerned about being late to work or are we supposed to search what is allegedly our own home for our clothes? 4. This dichotomy of realism vs puzzle building also makes it very frustrating when a useful tool disappears after its intended use. 5. One final little style thing that bugged me - most of the game approaches photorealistic, except for your own hands or photos of your ranger partner. It’s slightly jarring to be walking down a beautifully rendered wooded path and suddenly your plastic looking gumby hand rises into frame holding a very realistic looking compass..MetaMotivationVersion: 1.0.5

Brilliant and underratedI’m a longtime puzzle and adventure fan. I’ve played every game in the Myst series… Honestly, this game reminds me of the classic experience from those early point and click games but mixed with modern graphics and an eerie storyline. Soundtrack is atmospheric, puzzles are a good mix of easy to moderately difficult, story is excellent, graphics are usually good. Sometimes the camera panning in cutscenes feels unnatural but it never really breaks the experience. I strongly recommend. It’s a good price too- I’d probably pay double or triple for a game of this quality. The devs’ Meridian 157 series is also excellent..TodtoadVersion: 1.0.4

Unique and so refined, but..This is not just your average iOS point and click hidden object type game. It’s so mature and refined, both the realistic and gritty art style and the clever, challenging, and well-integrated puzzle design. I’ve truly never played a game by any developer that feels the same as both this and Meridian 157, they’re instantly recognizable as being a certain type of style. A couple puzzle related points of pain though. The first puzzle when the lights go out makes no sense. It sets it up to be two graphs that you just point to the symbols, only to learn you are supposed to… draw a line? So the directions are relative? It’s hard to explain but you will know what I mean. On hard mode, this is about as counterintuitive puzzle design as it gets. The other one was the paper towel. The fact that you are supposed to click AND DRAG is pretty much impossible to know since no other interaction in the game uses a “drag” motion. Again, another one I had to look up which spoiled the fun of solving it. But anyways… Highly recommended, can’t wait for next chapter.Bro-in-law (samVersion: 1.0.7

Cannot wait for Chapter 2!!If I play any games on my phone, they are typically puzzle/logic/role-play, where I have to actually utilize my brain. Otherwise, I feel like I’m just wasting my life even if only for an hour or a week or so. I really don’t like hidden object games, that’s not difficult enough for me. I’m more drawn to games like crime bot2, detective stories, etc. this game was surprisingly fascinating and enjoyable. I think I finished the whole chapter one and maybe less than 2 hours. Incredible!!We’ve been waiting for this game for more than a year, and we’re so excited it’s finally here! The artwork is gorgeous, the story had me from the first minute, and the puzzles are complex and interesting. Most other point and click puzzle games are so hard to navigate and have so many glitches that it’s not worth the effort, but Novasoft never disappoints, and it’s easy to get lost in the world without getting yanked out by glitches. WV is sure a creepy stateI found the narrative here to be a bit more of a slow burn than the "Meridian 157" series. Nothing too shocking yet, and the puzzles retain the same flavor from the first earlier games, perhaps with a bit higher degree of difficulty. The atmosphere certainly draws on remembrances of 90's-era movie thrillers with WV settings such as "Silence of the Lambs" and "Mothman Prophecies". Awesome except for ONE big thingI love the story. I love the puzzles. They are so complex I had to use a pen and paper to write down the puzzles and clues! And that’s the big problem. You can take a picture of the clue but there’s no way to put it next to the puzzle so you know what you’re looking at. You just have to remember. Which…for me involved pen and paper. Great IntroSuper short but a great intro. Great design! The puzzles could use a bit less obscurity in terms of what to do, at least at the start. I think people should be invested in the story more before the puzzles get to be that obscure because, the first time around, it really disrupted the flow of the story. Part of that is figuring out the style of puzzles this developer produces but there could have been more appeal to intuition on some puzzles. Amazing storyWhat a fantastic opening to a really fun and challenging game. I can’t wait until Chapter 2 comes out. Most of the puzzles aren’t difficult and on normal mode, you can just skip the hard ones or get hints. I love the story and how the first chapter ended. It was chilling and reminded me of Meridian 157. I also love the scenery and animation. It made me feel like I was actually hiking in a national park. AmazingTo start, the artwork is insane. The controls and mechanics are very easy to use. The story picks up very quickly and draws you in. Okay, but…I would like to explore the environments more. Need more pathways and images around, behind, up, down etc. For instance, the tool shed has a lot of interesting things to at least look at. Or the gift shop. Too many still images and single perspectives. I’d like to wander around more, even aimlessly. Clever puzzles but often too intricate and mostly not really involved in the story. Exactly what I love!I loved the entire Meridian series and was very pleasantly surprised by how this game was just as good if not better due to the graphics and story line. Not badFor its type of point and click game, it does a very good job. If you like that type, I would highly recommend it, however, be warned, it’s very short. Then, of course, you have to buy the next chapter to keep going.
