Actually learning with no to very little difficultyI’ve been using Duolingo for the past I would say 2 to 3 years and I picked up on basically nothing. For the most part, I stuck with Spanish and did that for about a year and I only know the basics like hermana is sister or something, yo is I, I’m not even sure if that’s exactly correct, etc etc etc. I know how to write or type out “Yo no habla Español” and I doubt that’s really the proper way that it’s meant to be typed but they never taught me how to do an accent or anything, and even when I did an English course, they were failing me for no reason because apparently I wasn’t saying the words I’ve been speaking for my entire correctly. And then I switched to this because I really been wanting to learn German, but Duolingo wasn’t doing that for me. Because it actually speaks in an accent, I know what I have to do to change how I talk to actually do the accent, I’m actually picking up words and I’ve been using this for only two days already, and I found the heart system very useful so I don’t get carried away and do like 20 lessons in a day and forget everything the next. I saw a lot of people complaining about the AI pictures and stuff, but it’s not that bad and I can’t stand them as long as I’m learning an actual language at a good pace where my brain won’t think that I’m learning nothing and give up. I’ll give one more review in a week just to see if I still approve and it was just the first day starters but thank you so much!.Version: 3.13.73
Best app ever for learning a new language !I just started this app and I just want to say this is a very good, efficient, enjoyable app to use for learning a new language. I’m learning French at the moment and I have learned so much in only 30 minutes I’m already learning new phrases and how to use them in the daily life. This app is great for grammar and explains words and how to use these words/phrases excellently. This app is very cheap compared to the other apps like Duolingo last year around this time I started using Duolingo and bought the pro for $60 which was a mistake and will never do again. But I joined this app and when I say you had to pay for the extra lessons a day like Duolingo I was very bummed but this app is only half the price versus Duolingo. I just have to say this app is way better than the other apps and actually takes time to explain the basics before you start getting into the hard stuff compared to Duolingo when you join you are almost immediately hit with the hard stuff. Also when I joined Duolingo and was doing it for a couple of months I was very discouraged and it felt like something was wrong with me because I wasn’t understanding it and come to find out it was the app keep in mind I had a streak over 200 but I’m glad I quit and came over to this app and I’m finally understanding now. I recommend this app 100% to anyone trying to learn a new language!!!.Version: 3.6.1
Honestly best language learning app EVER!!!Coming from Duolingo I thought it was the best language learning app ever but I did not realize that the way they were teaching me was not really making me understand, I feel Duolingo is really overrated. But then a few days ago my friend reccomend Air Learn I said I would give it a try I wasn’t really hopeful because I thought all language learning apps were the same, so I gave it a try and let me tell honestly such an amazing app it’s very underrated it tells you how some words have to go first before others like in English it would be I drink water but actually translated it like drink I water or something like that, it explains stuff like that it explains the culture and it sticks to one section with everything I need to know in it like when I first started Duolingo it was really teaching me words but not as much words Air Learn I learned so many new words than Duolingo was teaching me I just can’t explain the Jurassic difference between these two honestly I’m satisfied. I will say I wish they had African languages specifically Igbo language (Imo state dialect) and I would like them to teach it the same exact way they teach it with Spanish. Anyways if your looking for a so to learn languages come to Air Learn THE BEST..Version: 3.13.13
Its a great app! just a few problems..Whenever it comes to lessons, teaching multiple words all at once back to back is overwhelming, and it’s hard to focus on one word at a time. I personally struggle quite a bit with it because it’s hard to keep up with so many new words at once. Not to mention, most of the words it teaches me in the beginning don’t reoccur often so I often don’t remember it. I also don’t exactly like how it doesn’t teach commonly used words until later in the lessons, like I learned “you” in way later than i anticipated. I don’t know if theres any differences in the other lessons for the other languages, I’m trying to learn Spanish and these are issues I’ve noticed so far. It is a good app to help with vocabulary for beginners though, but I personally wouldn’t rely on it a lot. If anyone who’s looking to download this app to learn a new language, it’s a good app but I wouldn’t rely on it, I wouldn’t rely on any language apps honestly. If you wish to become fluent, I’d recommend joining groups on social media like facebook, discord, or even reddit to help you speak to other people who speak that language, or make friends who know both that language and english. As well as getting books that help you learn, and once you think you are far enough get books in the language you are learning to read..Version: 3.13.73
Love this app!I don't usually leave reviews on the app store but this app is just that good that i have to leave a review. i've only been using it for like a week and i'm using the free version and even with the free version it's really good! i only get to do like 5-7 lessons though, if i wanna do more then i have to pay for premium which i honestly might once i get my money up. but seriously i feel very confident that i'll finally be able to be way more fluent in spanish, i've also been trying to learn japanese for so long (on duolingo) and i never got ANYWHERE, i started in 2020 and duolingo just would keep giving me the same sentences and vocabulary and i just made no progress, but with airlearn i've started to learn some practical words and phrases, AND i get to see the words i've already learned in case i want to make flashcards. i've also started doing chinese like very recently and i've already learned so much like the tones and sentence structures and the app really goes into detail when you learn a new word, like it's not just thrown at you where you have to then try to figure out what it means and try to make a connection (like duolingo). so basically to sum this all app i LOVE this app!!! oh i do want to add that for te japanese, you guys should introduce kanji early on so that people arent necessarily mislead, like with the word 私(watashi) meaning "i/me", it's spelled わたし which i dont think is necessarily the correct way, like the pronunciation is still "watashi" but it's not used that way. (i could be wrong, japanese is obviously not my first language and you guys may have your reasons for doing it in hiragana but it's just my opinion/suggestion for people who are completely new to japanese, it's hard to unlearn how to write or read a word.).Version: 3.12.1
7 day review: Excellent and way better than DuolingoI challenged myself to use the app everyday for 7 days, completing five lessons a day. I took the German course so keep in mind language courses may vary. I can say for 100% certain that I prefer this app over Duolingo. The lessons feel like they Segway into each new topic seamlessly, making the progression feel natural and meaningful (something I often felt was lacking in Duolingo, where more often than not, it would just throw out random vocabulary that had little to no relevance to everything else I was learning). Not only does it give you lessons on how to speak the language, it also explains why you use certain grammar where and when to use it, something Duolingo never did for me. It gives fun facts about the country and language while learning as well which I found interesting and helpful with retaining information! I felt myself getting excited to open it every morning like playing a mobile game, even though I was actually learning a language. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 though is because they pretty blatantly use AI images for the visuals. I understand that it’s a shortcut and cheaper for companies to do(especially considering how many images you would need for an app like this), but I’d personally love to see them use actual paid artists in the future! Overall— I highly recommend this app. Even if you’re not that invested in language learning, the lessons feel interesting and fun. You learn fun facts, get the same dopamine rush you’d get from a mobile game when you complete a lesson faster than you did before or get a question right, and get to brag that you know how to say things in another language and actually know what it means..Version: 3.13.16
Best Language Learning AppI came over to this app after seeing a tik tok saying it was better than a certain green bird, and I must say, it 100% is. I am learning Russian and have used the green bird app for a while and even paid for the membership, but I just felt like I was given words and phrases to memorize. Now that I am using Airlearn, I feel like I can actually learn instead of memorize. I am being given explanations for things, quizzes, and even fun facts about Russia. I just love it so so much. I went through 6 lessons of the green bird app and did not know that the different masculine and feminine words for different things. Within the first lesson on Airlearn I already know multiple examples of masculine and feminine words. The only thing I would change is that I wish there was a second where you can go and see all of the Russian characters and their pronunciations. That was the one thing that really helped me on the green bird app and that I still would like to reference on Airlearn. It really helps when someone can learn the alphabet before jumping into learning words. Maybe add some practice lessons for learning the letters too. I feel like with that addition, it could make more people feel much more comfortable with learning such a beautiful language..Version: 3.13.39
Good. I recommend to use this when you don’t feel like studying but want to get in some practiceThe app is okay. I’m doing the Spanish course and some of the questions are based on images where it’s not clear what they’re trying to convey, so you might get the question wrong where as if they would’ve used a clearer image or asked with words, you might’ve gotten the question correct. Another thing is they started having questions where you need to use the word “del” and the way you use “de” before they teach you, which as someone who’s Spanish is a little more advance, I know what that word means and how to use it, but others might not if they haven’t been practicing as long and since the app doesn’t tell you how to use it won’t know what to do, and I’m sure this issue will come up more later. I also don’t think you could become fluent with this app because of how it teaches and the way it’s set up, but I do think it’s a nice addition to using something more useful and more targeted towards fluency because it turns language learning into a bit of a game. With that being said, the section on the test where you have to memorize the images like you’re playing the card game memory isn’t so helpful with language learning and I think it takes the focus from learning the language to getting the question right in the game. But everything else is nice. I do which you could practice vocabulary without being pro, and that you could reach the supernova streak without having to be pro since you are limited to 5 lessons a day, but other than that, this app isn’t super unusable just because you aren’t pro, I think. And I do like the fact that you can practice speaking and writing some phrases..Version: 3.13.49
Nice app for starting out but the AI…This is a good app for just starting out learning a language and getting some basics. It’s definitely meant to be a replacement for Duolingo and has many similar aspects. Something I wish Airlearn would have as well though is the ability to learn and practice writing systems like hiragana and katakana in Japanese whenever you’d like instead of having to wait for it to show up in the lessons. But at least there are other apps you can do that with for free. The premium subscription is a very affordable price compared to other apps, but I would gladly pay more if they got an actual artist to make the art for the lessons instead of using AI-generated art. This is precisely why I give the app 3 stars. The art is ugly and distracting, and it does not make me want to keep using the app or support it with a subscription. I would much rather see royalty free photos of real people and places and objects if you can’t be bothered to get a real artist. I’m tired of language learning sources using AI in one way or another. There’s a strong likelihood it’s used in some way for the lessons themselves as well if they’re willing to use it for art, but I cannot say for certain. So if you wanted to move on from Duolingo because of their use of AI then don’t look here for that replacement..Version: 3.13.51
Truly astonished.Of all the ways i’ve attempted to self teach myself new languages, ESPECIALLY through apps, this has been the most effective option by far. there’s many different language options to learn however aside from that the quality is just wow. it’s lessons include pictures, grammar tips, comparisons, formality levels, and so much more. and for people learning a language with a new alphabet it also offers romanization (which in case you’re unaware means it shows how to pronounce a sound from another alphabet into your language. for example: “ 안녕 (annyeong) “ so you can still pronounce the words if you aren’t fully comfortable with your new languages’ letters / pronunciation. and yes, there is a subscription which costs money, however even without a subscription you can still do 5 lessons per day for no charge, and honestly i think it’s just fine that way because it also helps you to pace yourself with your course rather than rushing through and the information going in one ear and out the other. so in summary, i think this is an amazing app and i highly recommend. i have absolutely nothing negative to say..Version: 3.13.28
Enjoyable, thoughtful, informative, 5 lessons a dayI was looking for an alternative to d u o and tried this app. I love that it starts with the words and phrases are the most useful for travel, not just random beginner words linked together. I also love that it gives little explanations of grammar and culture. Other apps I felt like I had to puzzle together grammar myself. If you don't pay for pro you only get 5 lessons a day, which is limiting but probably good to let your brain absorb the information instead of overloading. Pro is only $5 for the monthly plan though, so not bad. I will definitely use air learn to learn a bit of the language before traveling to new countries and will recommend it to my friends when they plan to travel too. Update: I still love this app! BUT there's been a bug for several days where after a lesson there's no "continue" option. I have to close out the app every time I finish a lesson to return to the rest of the app. I can't figure out how to contact anyone about this so I'm updating my review. Please help! It's really annoying and makes me do less lessons!.Version: 3.13.33
Perfect for Refreshing Any LanguageHello! This is Airlearn, kind of like another Duolingo but a little different. Airlearn is similar to Duolingo because it has streaks, courses, language options, and more! It is different from Duolingo because it does not have energy (or hearts), Super Duolingo, ads, and also more. I am learning Russian, and plan to speak and practice 18 more languages in the future, and I am now done with all the sections in Duolingo and now have to master the Daily Refresh section. I still want to refresh a little better so I decided to get Airlearn. I think this is a good app for refreshing because in Duolingo, it does not make you fluent and teach you every single word in Russian, but with Airlearn, it can teach you the words that you don’t know. You don’t have to get Airlearn just to refresh a mastered language, you can use it as your official app for learning your chosen language. This app is amazing but the only thing I have a slight problem with is that it does not have as many language options as Duolingo, but it is not a big deal because they added that they with add more in the future. I hope my review encourages you to get this app and tells you how good it actually is..Version: 3.13.46
Great but Could be BetterI’ve been using the free version of this app for about a month now and can say it is one of the better language learning apps out there. I like to try out the free version before committing to a paid plan. That being said, and I can’t speak to the paid version, I think there isn’t enough emphasis on whether you actually know how to make complete and accurate sentences. For example, a lot of the exercises ask you to build a sentence (either full or fill in the blanks) but provide you with all the words necessary to do so. Although my scores are near perfect that way, I can say with certainty that I wouldn’t have remembered a majority of those words (and in some cases their order/placement in the sentence) had they not been there to click on. I think it would be more beneficial for learners to type out the words from memory to create (and translate) sentences. I know there are some exercises like that already, but the majority aren’t so I don’t feel confident despite progressing in the lessons. Again, this is my experience from the free version so I’m not sure how or if the paid version addresses these concerns..Version: 3.13.84
Great way to learn!!!!Airlearn is a new company for unacademy. I have in almost 7 months learned 1,028 words! I am enjoying the app. It is a unique way to learn. Recently, Airlearning has updated this app and it’s even better. Your learned words can be reviewed with an alphabetical listing on the Words section. But, the words that are newer can be seen at the top of the non-alphabetized listing of words. Airlearn uses many types of learning tools. UNA, a speaking AI, speaks and you can speak back…In Spanish, of course! There are reviews using the words you just learned. You can hear the word pronounced and repeat to practice. Airlearn’s explanations are really a good thing. It helps clear up questionable about usage and those tricky words…me, te…, too! Just by listening and repeating what the lesson says, you can even have an accent! {I have worked really hard on this because a friend said (I was helping a Spanish speaking patient…) that I had a terrible accent.} ***I just found another update! I’m excited to see what’s new! Come join us. It’s free unless you want to GO PRO, just try it out. See if it’s fun…..Happy Day to you!.Version: 3.5.1
Best app for language learningI’ve been using Duolingo for a long time and I have a 400 day streak on it but it’s just not working for me. It gave me a boost up in terms of words to know but this app does it all. So far I’m paying zero dollars and zero pennies for this app and it’s better than Duolingo. But why do I say that? Well, this app explains a lot of things like why words change their endings for different cases and that’s especially important when learning a language like German if you originally speak English. This is not to put Duolingo down or anything but if you just want to learn a language for fun/for a pastime this app really does it, I mean I feel like there’s a native speaker/teacher really pointing at a board directly telling me how to speak it. One thing though is that when you get something wrong it doesn’t explain what’s wrong and how to fix it. I guess that’s fine though as they tell you all about it when initially explaining it. There’s also things that I never would have know from Duolingo. Like simple phrases that people use and when. Duo just doesn’t tell you that..Version: 3.13.16
Better than DuoFor me, I’ve always thought writing reviews was low-key unnecessary and useless. But this app is insanely good. My second language is Spanish, and I learned it in a classroom in both Highschool and university. It took me forever to get good at conversational skills in Spanish, because I didn’t start speaking from the beginning, and I didn’t know to. This app has you speaking from the start, and it explains the reasoning behind initial conversational grammar. (I’m using this to learn Chinese) Especially in Asian languages, understanding the meaning behind the characters is so important because it’s almost impossible to use the correct pronunciation and/or characters in the correct context unless you understand the meaning behind the majority of the root characters. This app uses pictures and short lesson spans in order to allow for visualization, and long term memorization with short learning sessions. I practice 5 lessons everyday, which are around 15-20 minutes collectively - ideal for long term memory processing. Highly recommend..Version: 3.13.79
LOVE THE APP, but …I LOVE this app. I have recommended it to anybody that wants to learn languages since it has helped me so much with my Italian. I’m on a 190 day streak now! Love the interface. So easy to use. However, I would like to make a suggestion. Some of us don’t have the time or desire to put in the work to earn a trophy and be on the top 5 or top 3. Would it be possible in the NEAR FUTURE for us the Pro Users to choose whether we like to be part of the competition or not? Instead of feeling excited to learn everyday, I feel obligated to max up my points in order to not lose my Inmortal League and this makes me uninterested to learn and I am starting to despise just thinking about trying to gain more points. Also, I suggested monthssss ago the feature of doing a quiz to max up our points and I’m glad the developers took the suggestion too. Hoping my suggestion will work also. Can you please make this an option and just let us use the app to learn instead of compete? Grazie molto AirLearn per tutti ✨🤍.Version: 3.13.65
Good language learning !!I really like this app. It can definitely get someone up to the point where they’d have enough comprehension of the language to be able to navigate around where they want to go (Of course this is assuming they also study a little extra on their own free time). There may be an issue where you learn pictures instead of words but it has a nice feature where it keeps your learned words/phrases in a well organized space where you can study on your own. I can’t stand the Ai pictures though. Ignoring the fact that it is unpleasant to look at in general, I’ve gotten questions where I’m asked to match a picture to a prompt, and sometimes I can’t even really tell whats going on in the picture in the first place, so I get the answer wrong when I know for a fact I could have gotten it right if it was clear enough. I’m assuming that these questions are just testing my understanding of words & phrases, so there’s no need for an image to be so vague. It’s just frustrating. These are few & far between so it’s not a huge problem but it can definitely mess with you’re learning experience. Besides that, this app is great you *can* pay for & are offered a subscription but the free version is perfectly fine. You’ll progress slower than someone with premium but unless you’re in a rush and can absorb & comprehend a bunch of completely new information into your head, there’s no need for it. Plus, you can earn coins and stuff that can allow you to speed up your learning. I hope to see airlearn grow more : ^ ).Version: 3.13.20
90% Better than DuoLingoI’ve had Duolingo for a year now and just started using AirLearn about a week ago so I’ve had enough time to go thru the app and notice the differences. Although I believe AirLearn to have a better approach to language learning than Duolingo I feel the AirLearn app is lacking when it comes to practice sessions where we can reinforce what we have learned, there’s only lessons which you can repeat as many times as you want but is not the same as a study guide/practice session. They have leagues and a words learned tab just like Duolingo however within those areas there are no practice sessions like word matching & reviews which I think is their missing element. Besides that I love the app so far, the outline is concise and easy to follow, the explanations are helpful and they even give extra information having to do with the culture & way of life that helps to understand the how/why of the language which I deeply appreciate. All around I would give it a try and highly recommend especially at the price point they offer!.Version: 3.13.29
I love the app! However, I have a suggestion:Hello! I am absolutely LOVING Airlearn! I love how it teaches and explains concepts. Rather than just throwing random words out for you to memorize. I do have a recommendation! I noticed that every user has a cat. On the leagues, some cats have cool glasses or mustaches. Mine currently is blank. I have no idea how to customize my cat, or if I’m able to. Is there a way there can be a little customization shop or with each lesson you get something that you can use to customize your cat? I think that would make it more personalized! Besides the customization, I’m having an issue with PRO. I’m trying to purchase the monthly PRO, where I can just pay monthly. However, it isn’t charging my card, like it isn’t going through. My card isn’t the issue and the Apple Store isn’t the issue because I’ve recently updated a separate subscription for a separate app, and it charged me then. Is the monthly ($4.99) plan available still?.Version: 3.10.2
Love it!This is for whenever you don’t have a lot of time, but you still wanna learn something. I have known for the past 67 days (not even trying to joke) but some days I just don’t have a lot of time and I can just do a quick little lesson. Some of them are less than a minute long. They’re very short and you can do a lot of them. The only thing I don’t like is is not a lot of way to customize your character cause I love to customize my character. I would really love it if there was a way you could like change their colors and give them accessories and stuff. But other than that, I think this is a really cool app and really great for when you ever need a quick little lesson. I also love all the things that they have like all those a bunch of different languages and I would also like to get a music lesson would also be great, but I’m doing chess German and Spanish right now that’s great..Version: 3.17.1
Solid, beautiful appUpdate: I’ve used the app a bunch over the past couple of weeks and it’s starting to show that it’s a bit shallow compared to other language apps. The images are still beautiful and it does a good job of introducing vocabulary. It desperately needs a spaced repetition system, however. The vocabulary comes way too fast and it kind of begins to feel like you are just going through stuff. Adding this I. Easily takes this to a five star review for me. Otherwise, I just don’t see myself renewing this for next year. Original review:I am currently using 16 different language learning apps and I find myself coming back to this one more than most of the others. It’s a beautiful app that does a good job of weaving in grammar with the vocabulary. There are a number of features that it currently lacks (speaking practice and an effective manual review system), but I get the impression that more features are on the way. All in all it’s a solid, beautiful app that I highly recommend!.Version: 3.13.51
This is the best spanish app I ever used!😍😊❤️🫶🏽I am a black American living in the United States in Florida I literally love Spanish and Spanish people. I literally adore them I try to duolingo and it didn't work. It was like I thought duolingo was just an owl that didn't really want me to learn Spanish it was just fun and entertaining but this app is more than just fun and entertaining. It actually helps you to learn so that's what I like about it. You should definitely check this out. It's perfect and better yet. It's totally free. Douolingo is too but trust me it is a horrible app for some users. My sister still uses it but I preferrer this app more. and also I gave this a four-star instead of the five because you have to be 13 in over to use this app my sister is six and can use Duolingo I am close to 13 but this is working perfect for me. I am not 13 yet I don't know three or two years before I turn 13 so yeah, but I have a brain of a 13 year-old trust me and this works so good for me, so please try this out.Version: 1.8.0
5 stars a MUST HAVEI’ve tried quite a few language-learning apps, and Airlearn has quickly become one of my favorites. What really sets it apart is that it doesn’t just teach vocabulary and grammar, it also teaches culture. Learning a language is about understanding the people, history, and traditions behind it, and Airlearn does an excellent job of including that context. Another huge advantage is the language selection. Airlearn offers languages and courses that aren’t available on Duolingo: five Indian languages, Thai,Tagalog, The lessons are engaging, informative, and make me excited to keep learning. I’ve especially enjoyed using it for my language studies and discovering new perspectives from different cultures around the world. My main criticism is that I’d love to see more languages added in the future, particularly Hebrew, which is an important language to me personally. There are also a few other languages (Afrikaans, “Serbo-Croat”, more) I’d be excited to see included as the platform continues to grow. Overall, Airlearn is a fantastic app with a lot of potential, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning languages and cultures, not just memorizing words. I love how things always change up and it doesn’t seem repetitive like Duolingo. I’m studying five languages at the same time and I’m finding finally with Airlearn I can make it happen at much faster speed.Version: 3.18.0
Would recommend this appI love this app. I’ve been using it for a bit to learn French and I’ve got to say, this app is much better than any other apps. It gets straight to the point and you get to learn all the important phrases you use in your everyday conversations. What I like is that the free version does not limit you to learning. You get 5 free lessons everyday which is just what you need to prevent burning out yourself. One down side of this app is that it can be a bit fast paced so keeping all the information in your head may be hard so I recommend writing the phrases in a notebook and reviewing them to keep your mind sharp. Other than that this app is amazing and I’ve already recommended it to a few friends. 10/10 wish I knew about this app sooner rather than spending my time on apps like memrise, where you have only get like 4 free lessons, or Duolingo where everything is constantly repeated..Version: 3.13.10
Diverse and effectiveI love this app! It beats Duolingo’s excessive gamification, and actually goes in depth on grammar and scenarios when words are used. I have been learning Spanish on it for some time now and within a few months I’m able to speak some decent conversations! Although please add some more south Asian languages like Khmer, Vietnamese, and Lao please! I’d love the language diversity already! Update: for many users who don’t know go to the You tab, click on coins and the game coins you earn can be used to buy more hearts giving you options to buy 3,5,or max at 10. This is perfect for free version users as your spending game coins on lessons instead of real money for lessons on pro. Although if you want more features and access to infinite lessons there is no way around it unless you save up your game coins. Golden heart is also a rare reward lessons opportunity if you continue learning after the award pops up you get exactly 30mins of infinite learning on lessons and can earn a badge for it. The blue shields you’ll often see if you click on streak is to protect your streak if you have a shield and miss a day, when come you back it will count it as a day you have learned not messing up your streak. The max amount of shields you can have is 5 and for those who want more they can be earned or bought either game coins like hearts. I would recommend exploring the app for a week using these features before coming to terms with any judgements. As for app developers I feel I shouldn’t have to explain this to other users because it’s such a good app compared to others and as the creators you should be explaining how your own app works. I would recommend putting a tutorial tab on the bottom with the other tabs for new users. This is the only reason I’m changing my 5 stars to a 4, besides the fact I see lack in southeast (Khmer/ Cambodian, Lao, and Vietnamese, Malay, Indonesian, Filipino languages, etc.) representation in language apps, not just here but in other apps as well..Version: 3.13.65
Great and Easy App for BeginnersThis app is great for visual learners wanting to learn a language such as Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean etc. Despite the small language selection (with more to come) it is very easy to use and clearly explains certain grammar concepts. There is even a tab where you can view all of your previously learned words with visual depictions of the meaning. Combined with the photos, there is always a demonstrated pronunciation for each word, making it easy to quickly understand sentences. I highly recommend this app for all who learn visually, enjoy simple and easy displays, or just want to quickly begin to learn new languages. Also great for cat lovers since there are many cat profiles or appearances that are very cute. One suggestion I have though, is that they should add tracing hirigana/katakana/kanji characters for the Japanese course! Also, if they ever add a chinese course, i think they should also add tracing the 汉子/hanzi..Version: 3.5.1
Really good!I feel like I’m actually learning words and how to put everything together into phrases. It’s a lot better than other apps where it’s just memorizing and repetition. Barely have an 11 day streak and I already know 64 words as well as how to put them in phrases and how to use them appropriately! It doesn’t sound like much but it’s a lot more than I learned in my 6months with the green bird. If I had to recommend something though, I really wish and hope they add a practice feature for words you know so far. They have a practice feature but only on the section you are currently in and you can only reach it at the end of said section. Again, I really hope they add a practice feature for the words you already know - also making it so said practice doesn’t affect your “hearts”. Just as a fun thing you know? Anyways I really like this app :) ありがとうございます!.Version: 3.13.13
Would have been 5 stars, but a few things need improvement.I just started using Airlearn. It is a great app and I enjoy using it to study Japanese. I would have given it 5 stars, but I am giving it 4 stars instead because of two main issues. First, in the family section, the app uses terms like sofu and sobo for “grandfather” and “grandmother.” While these are technically correct, they are not commonly used in everyday conversation. More natural and widely used terms like ojiisan and obaasan would be more helpful for learners. This applies to other family words as well, the vocabulary feels too formal and less useful in real life situations. Second, I would really like the option to customize the cat character. Being able to change its appearance or add small features would make the learning experience more fun and personal. Overall, it is a strong and effective learning tool, but I hope these improvements are considered in future updates..Version: 3.13.20
Air learn for me!I’ve been wanting to learn Japanese for the longest time and I’ve found a app air learn and it has helped me a lot I’ve been learning and getting to know what words and how to say them it also helps a lot for me. In my opinion this app is better than Duolingo because it doesn’t show me any words to learn or any thing to use, I’ve only been using air learn for a month or two and I’ve learned many words and I’m practicing how to make a sentence and it’s going really well. I’m very great full that I found air learn it had helped me a lot and I learned a lot since and I’ve been practicing and it is going great since I’ve started! I’m so great full for the person who made this app it’s probably the best app I’ve found in my whole life! And it’s free so that’s the best part since I don’t have to pay to learn! My experience with this app is amazing I’m so glad I’ve found this app!.Version: 3.3.4
Amazing I’ve never had this app before and it’s so amazing oI love this like when you learn your language you also give you the background and also gives you like information. Doesn’t it doesn’t really like just like go all the way into like hey this is how you say. They say this is how you say this and then you stop right there no, it keeps repeating the word specially, the words that you you’re getting it wrong like an H lesson. You’re gonna see the words that’s not when you learn it cause you’re keep saying the words and that’s how you keep keep learning and you keep experienced the words and it also gives you the background and also you can also like click the refresh to speak to see what’s the word it is and it is really amazing. I’m learning Spanish and I feel like I’m already. I feel like I already know Spanish. This app is amazing..Version: 3.17.1
For Learning Japanese- Better than DuolingoI have a 1372 day streak in Duolingo for Japanese and have been using Airlearn in tandem for the past few months. Where Duolingo has no formal grammar or cultural nuance explanations, the Airlearn lessons explicitly teach new grammar points and then have you practice it throughout the lesson. They also consistently add little “fun facts” about Japanese culture that are either relevant to the new word or grammar point being introduced. The Japanese taught is relevant and I think the course does a really good job in slowly incorporating new words and concepts into already taught concepts. The main negative is the free version only gives 5 free lessons a day which is pretty limiting (not that Duolingo is much better nowadays with the new energy system). Overall, I think it’s absolutely worth incorporating into a study app toolkit for Japanese..Version: 3.13.65
Good app but needs refinementI really like the overall structure of Airlearn but in my view, there are a few glaring issues. 1. The voices used in the app are computer-generated, not human. Many pronunciations given, at least in French, are simply not how words are actually pronounced in France. It sounds more Quebecois, just plain weird. 2. Rarely, some of the pictures given are quite ambiguous. In one instance, it gave a picture of a bed. It marked the answer of ‘bedroom’ as incorrect because for this one picture, it relied on the premise that it was a bed and not a bedroom, when obviously the only place you’d find a bed in most homes is a bedroom. Sometimes there’s no way to know what they’re after. 3. No Mac version of the app, and the publishers have chosen not to allow the iOS version to run on Mac for some reason. 4. Lack of support for multiple learners. In our home our kids don’t have phones, because we’re not muppets, so they use our phones. We all end up having to share the same profile and everyone has to manually track our individual progress. 5. Some information given is just plan wrong. For instance, they say the word for ‘menu’ is ‘menu’, when anyone remotely familiar with France knows that it is ‘carte’. ‘Menu’ is a set of predetermined meals at a restaurant you can order at a reduced price. I’d still recommend, but Airlearn could do much better..Version: 3.13.56
100x Better than DuolingoThis App Builds you up with more than just simple memorization like you find on Duolingo. This App also does more than just throw words at you. It explains the word and how it’s used in a sentence. My favorite feature is that you can go back to all the words you’ve learned. It’ll then give you the definition and how to pronounce it. You can then flag the words you’re having issue. Bonus: This App also gives you fun facts on the country itself. My least favorite thing about Duolingo is it gave you useless sentences to learn. For example for the first DOZEN plus lessons on Duolingo learning Dutch you’ll say stuff like “Ik ben een Appel” Which translates to “I am an Apple.” You won’t find those pointless lessons here. If you’re serious about learning a language to actually use… this is going to be a great start..Version: 3.13.37
Amazing app, but maybe add a tweak to make it even betterПривет Airlearn! I’m learning russian and by far, its the best app I’ve used to learn a new language! (I’ve tested 10 other apps) I just wanna give a tip to do to the app, like a small tweak. You should look more into the words practice for the Pro exclusive because, I find it a little off only because it doesn’t feel like I’m practicing much and the words keep repeating. So a couple of things you can add to it is: 1. Give a setting to it whether you want to learn 10 words at once or change to like 20,25,30 etc to add more practice and not get repeated words all the time. 2. Make the practices a bit more harder and more of everything (oral, more sentences) so you can really practice the words more easily 3. Add categories on whether you want text only, oral only, picking the right word one. You know, just so people can work on specific stuff to improve on. I’m going to be straight up, I never give feedback or tips to any app at all, but this app is so good at teaching (and the ad’s yall make 😂) and it just feels amazing, I love this app so much!! So take it into consideration please (especially since people pay for it, I will yearly) it would mean a lot and thank you so so much! Да свидания!!.Version: 3.13.82
Amazing!Went into this with relatively now expectations as i was coming from another app that doesn’t necessarily have the best reputation *cough* duolingo *cough*. however, i’ve picked up more french in the past few week or so then i have (spanish) in almost a year and a half with the other app (holding a very basic conversation, describing myself and my hobbies, etc)! perhaps i’m just a quick learner, but this app is definitely worth it in my opinion! i feel like i could probably get by just using the free version, but the pro version is soo worth it. i definitely catch myself doing a few lessons through the day. my only nag is that i wish there was more focus on writing/spelling. i’ll probably write another review in a month or so about where i’m at but as of right now i’m gonna say it’s a pretty good app!.Version: 3.9.3
This app is awesomeI switched over to this app after watching a video from on of my favorite content creators LouisAyy and I used Duolingo before and it doesn't even compare to this app. This app is teaching me things Duolingo left out in only three lessons and I'm becoming more skilled in the few words Duolingo taught me. This is honestly the best decision I ever made and I would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to learn a language. It teaches you the culture as well a the language which is amazing because now I'm learning more than just the language. I can never look at Duolingo the same again and I will definitely recommend this to my family and friends. The lessons are also so addicting and easy I catch myself doing multiple at a time. I just over all love this app..Version: 3.13.88
Better than duolingoI had been using duolingo for over three years but I still can not have a conversation. They don't teach you about verb tenses, feminine or masculine nouns, or the different spelling of words. They just expect you to know. This app teaches you everything that you need to know to learn the language. The first thing I learned was the difference between masculine and feminine nouns and how to tell them apart. They have a feature to practice real conversations with an ai character. You do not have to pay for anything and there are no ads. Instead of only getting five mistakes you get five lessons per day. Overall I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to learn Spanish. Only problem is the only languages they currently have to learn are Spanish and french..Version: 1.1.2
Amazing app! Minus the speech features and AI art..I have absolutely loved learning Spanish with Airlearn! I find that the lessons make it easier to understand and apply the vocabulary into real sentences. However, I have been having repeated issues with the speaking questions. When a speaking question appears, I will say my answer and it will mark it complete, but then the rest of the lesson will have no audio/the remaining audio will glitch out. This leads to me having to close the app and reopen it to regain the audio, which also closes and restarts the lesson and deletes my progress. I end up just skipping the speaking questions all together to avoid the struggle. Additionally, often with the speaking questions, they will fail to work all together. Despite my repeated talking into the microphone of what should be correct, the app will not pick up my words at all, regardless of if I am wearing connected headphones or not. This just adds to my frustration with the speech questions. If you have any idea how I can fix these issues, please let me know. Lastly, I find the usage of AI art insulting! On your media profiles, you can’t jab at Duolingo for using AI when you yourself are also using it! Be upfront about what technology you utilize. These small issues do not interfere too badly with my use of your app and I would recommend to everyone!.Version: 3.13.16
AI holds it backIt's a really cool app and could definitely rival Duolingo one day. Definitely gives you lots of good feedback. However, the AI art is very off putting and makes the app feel cheap. If they're serious about competing, they should hire an actual artist or just use free stock photos. Some of the audio is also off; for example, the TTS voice pronounces the French word "demain" the Canadian way which doesn't match the pronunciation text. Also, some of the questions seem AI generated, and I've already seen one hallucination where it randomly inserted the name "Maria" into the question out of nowhere. Say what you will about Duolingo using AI but as of now I haven't seen anything that egregious. Hopefully these issues can be ironed out and maybe this app can be less reliant on AI, one of the things driving me away from Duolingo, while still providing a Duolingo-esque experience. Also, please add a dark mode..Version: 3.13.61
Better than Duolingo but needs polishingHey when I first tried this app out it was actually amazing ( Now I get why the blue cat is better than the green bird ) but I’ve come to realize that it’s missing a lot of simple things. One thing you guys should add is story mode using the words we know. Another thing you guys should add is a way to practice pronunciation and speaking like ask us to say smth. Oh and also I’m currently learning Japanese you guys should add a way to learn JUST the alphabet separately from word because there’s no reason after learning 15 hiragana and katakana you’re just now teaching it. If I never knew hiragana and katakana I’d be overwhelmed, this is also slowing my progress because I alr know it. Also maybe ways to connect with friends like profiles. All this with little things like sounds ,more animation, and not ai voice actor this app could be five stars and more engaging without being to gamified.Version: 3.13.32
Lovely app!Airlearn is actually a pretty good app. I heard a lot about it online and decided to try it, and it’s way better than I expected. I’ve learned a lot from it so far in only about a month or so of learning. It has helpful features such as being able to re-do lessons or look at words you’ve already learned again. I do have one suggestion, which I think would be a good feature to add. I’m learning German, and when going to the “Words” page, I find it helpful to see which nouns are masculine, feminine, or neuter on the little pop-up. But sometimes it doesn’t tell, which is why I think it’d be helpful if there were more categories that separate nouns based of whether they are masculine, feminine, or neuter. Just a suggestion, either way the app is great!.Version: 3.13.39
Prefer it a lot more to DuolingoStopped using Duolingo because of the Ai addition, i originally started using it to use along side as I learn German in class. I complained to a friend about wanting something different and they redirected me here First off starting strong NO ADS. They do make it clear that they have a premium version but if not your given 5 free lessons. I love already it feeling more like an actual class due to the fun facts it gives to re-contextualize the word. With all 3 teachers ive had in the past they had a habit of this as well. And just a personal preference but as an adhd learner I love how everything is read out to you and the visuals to help with the words. It helps a lot so I can understand what I’m talking about. I will say I would kinda prefer if it gave you an option of “I know a little of this language” and it quiz you to understand where your at. You technically can but it costs a heart and I’d definitely prefer to have had that out the gate. I would also love to see more languages. Both for people who aren’t native English speakers and to add to the existing ones. Like the two off the top of my head I think would be cool to add is Welsh and Taiwanese. Just an expansion on the offer of languages would be a welcomed change in my opinion..Version: 3.13.19
Air learnOver all, I think this app is pretty good for people who want to learn new languages- you can pick from any language, and start learning right away. I recommend buying Airlearn pro- it’s about 40$, (not exact) per year, and you can learn as much as you want in a day. Airlearn’s lessons include finishing sentences, speaking (rarely), matching, choosing meaning, true or false questions, did you knows, and sound choosing. You go over each topic, a group of lessons at a time, and even have a word gallery. By 3 months, I was having basic conversations, (With pro), but with basic you’ll learn in about 6-8 months. Totally better than Duolingo, AND memrise. This app is like, TOP TIER, And I didn’t even mention everything this app has to offer. You should totally get this..Version: 3.13.72
Fun App But One suggestion!I recently started using your app instead of Duolingo, and I really enjoy using it! I do have one suggestion though—we should be able to dress and change our cat character. My character would look great with a pair of fresh shades or maybe even a hat! What if I wanted a calico kitty instead? I’m sure many other users would enjoy this feature as well. Overall I do really enjoy the app and its features. I love the explanations about different words, such as why certain words are feminine/masculine, and why french people started using feminine versions of professions. The tidbits on french culture and things to know about France. The app is definitely more educational and fun than other apps I’ve tried. Apps for learning language aren’t always the best, but if I had to recommend one as a tool, I’d say Air for sure!.Version: 3.13.10
The app I was looking forEasy and user-friendly app..Version: 1.3.0
Very clean and simple to useI like the concept of free lessons everyday. Instead of bulk learning in on day, you are stopped and curiosity to return the next day persists..Version: 1.0.16
Duolingo killerIt’s just a better version of Duolingo. I’ve seen no ads so far other than pop ups that can be dismissed instantly and unlike Duolingo it actually teaches you some grammar and differences between formal and informal.Version: 3.13.61
GreatMy brother introduced me to this app since I have to learn Japanese, and it has really helped me this app is amazing.Version: 3.17.1
I recommend just one thing to sayDon’t skip through stuff quickly, listen and remember stuff it’s a important tip.Version: 1.0.19
My reviewIt is a really good app to learn. However I noticed that there is no way to skip ahead to your level of knowledge in the language. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. However I wanted to use it to expand my knowledge in French outside of school and I found the starting content way too easy (as it should be for a beginner). I’ve been using it to learn Italian tho, and it’s really good! It goes over basic useful words and it explains how nouns and adjectives change according to gender or number which is something you don’t get with Duolingo. I really like it and it’s great for learning a new language so far!.Version: 3.13.38
A bugThere is a bug every time I complete the first part of a lesson for the day it won’t let me click continue I have to close the app and open it again for it to work..Version: 3.9.3
Fast and easy learningHonestly, I’ve tried so many apps even popular ones and they haven’t given me this much fun and easy learning as Airlearn has. You should definitely check it out..Version: 3.18.0
AvatarI noticed that when you change your avatar, you can't switch back to a previous avatar you've already unlocked. I've rerolled my avatar (1,500 coins) a few times and ended up back with the one I started with. It would be great if ALEAST users with Airlearn Pro could go back and select avatars they've already gotten instead of losing access to them after changing. Thanks for considering this feature. I really appreciate how active and responsive the developers are, I will 5 star when issue is fixed <3.Version: 3.17.1
UNACADEMY INC PLS RESPOND annyeong! Please give me unlimited lessons each day. I’d love this. Im learning Korean..Version: 3.17.1
Thank you airEven with Free get five free leson.Version: 3.17.1
.WOW. Very impressed i thought i would have to pay to use this app but it’s pretty much free u should keep it this way after a month of learning im now able to introduce and sometimes talk in Japanese love the app you should definitely download and if u want extra lessons it doesnt costs much! What a deal xoxo!.Version: 3.17.0
Great language gameSometimes doesn’t hear me properly, video call system still has flaws..Version: 3.17.0
Airlearn ReviewGreat for learning! I’ve been learning Spanish this really helps me understand why everything works the way it does, instead of just telling me the correct answer as other language lesson apps work.Version: 3.16.1
GamificationLove the app but I wish it was less gamified. I wish there was an option to turn off the sound effects and other game like effects. Other than that I love the app and find that it does a way better job actually explaining grammar than other apps that I’ve used in the past..Version: 3.16.1
FreedomI like how I can learn as much as I like at any time and I get little fun facts about the language.Version: 3.15.0
Decent…has some glitches though.I like how the app explains things and doesn’t just try to teach through repetition. Would be good if the rewards for doing lessons were useful if there is no way to opt out of the leagues (or if xp multipliers could be paused), and would be good if pro users and free users were segregated. Oh, and to fix the Apple situation where if you try to give feed back in the app it auto-reroutes you to “mail” when I don’t want use mail. Tried to send this all in emails and they just bounced back or were never responded to..Version: 3.15.0
Good butI find the app itself very useful and well made, being very user friendly but there are no levels, I’ve known French for a while now and I got this app to touch up on it but the app brought me to the basics (bonjour comment ça bien? Stuff like that) and although this is not necessarily bad I find it unnecessary and if I’m being honest a bit wasteful in terms of time. For this I would more than love a leveling system where the app gives you a test after signing up or let’s you choose between Beginner Intermediate Fluent Another than this I have no complaints whatsoever and would recommend. (Please do fix the levelling thoug).Version: 3.14.1
Great appOnly wish there was dark mode available as an option as can be really bright on the eyes.Version: 3.14.1
One of the best apps I’ve used for language studiesFar better pronunciation, and I love that it gives descriptions and context between lessons :).Version: 3.14.1

Love this app but wish it offered more languages like Levantine Arabic or Punjabi!!!This has been a great app so far! I really appreciate the language selection too! But if I can add a suggestion please add Punjabi to the future languages because I live in Canada and it’s more useful for us here!.Version: 3.13.83
Good app!Airlearn is probably one of the best language apps I have ever discovered. And the fact they have unique languages too, the only downside is that they use AI a lot. I have some language suggestions: maybe do Balkan languages like Bosnian, Croatian, etc. Most language apps do not have Balkan languages and I wish to learn Bosnian to speak with relatives. Please look at this review, and thank you!.Version: 3.13.83

Good but buggy appThe app is good for learn but very buggy, and I sent support to fix the issues. But they asked me to verify there errors with testing the app myself without a quality testing department, so after 7 emails I gave up. Otherwise it works for myself..Version: 3.13.83
