ArcEmu - Watch Emulator App Comments & Reviews

ArcEmu - Watch Emulator Positive Reviews

Truly exceptional but needs tweaksThis is an insanely cool concept to be able to play game boy and game boy advance games on your watch. But to be usable, it needs a few improvements. I'd love it if you could swipe to hit two buttons, like pressing right for Mario and swiping up onto A to jump. Right now, a new tap is required for any distinct action. In addition, volume controls would be great. Edit: thanks for the reply! My suggestion with swiping is more so just to allow rollover between the right and A buttons, like how it is between the up and down dpad buttons now. Edit 2: Yes, overall I think it's intuitive to allow swiping button presses on any button. More freedom that way. The buttons are quite large so accidental swipes should be a minimum. That allows games like Mario to be played (the new crown button remap option works well there too)..Version: 1.4.2

Instantly turns your Apple Watch into a gaming powerhouseI’m incredibly impressed with how well I’m able to emulate gameboy and gameboy advanced games on my Apple Watch. It’s amazingly simple with this app to add roms from your phone and they play impressively well on such a small screen. You would be surprised how well you can view these games on such a small screen and fit in the controls as well. Some games that require a lot of quick button pressing and reaction time might not be best on the watch app but I highly suggest giving games which allow for more reaction time such as turn based strategy, and rpgs a try on this. For instance any of the Pokémon games would be great on this. The price is unbeatable for the ability to add vastly better games on your Apple Watch than any that exist on the App Store..Version: 1.6.1

Arc emu is great. But read the following:ArcEmu works great and the controller support is effective. The link cable works, however, read the following which was also sent in an email to the ArcEmu support: ArcEmu doesn’t seem to function properly if you are under 13. The multiplayer link cable doesn’t function, saying “multiplayer unavailable” I am almost sure this is the issue because on one device which has age 14 it started working again after I signed out and back in to Game Center. However, on the other device there are no restrictions but it doesn’t work, most likely because it is under 13. Because of this, please add a “sign in as guest” or an ArcEmu account feature, or even better (if you do this this might be the best app ever) allow it to work by usb c cable, so you don’t even need internet like in the game boy days. Please fix this issue soon..Version: 1.9.2

PerfectIt’s amazing. The ability to play GBA games on my AWU is surreal and a dream come true. Being able to access the same save file from my phone and watch is really what makes this app incredible. Outside of that, it’s an emulator that works very well on my phone (and watch) and if you’re looking for one that’s reliable and easy to use, this is it. Customizable button locations for the phone (not watch but it’s fine since it’s so small anyway), speed modification, save states, independent audio controls, and link cable feature - it’s perfect..Version: 1.8

Stunning.Fantastic emulator with a shockingly functional Apple Watch component that lets you easily transfer your save states over from the phone. Well worth the money, brilliantly implemented. It’s not quite as full-featured and user-friendly as Delta, but the Watch app puts it over easily. If the dev is listening, I’d love to request that we be able to configure Bluetooth controllers, particularly to be able to assign buttons save/load and fast-forward, as well as having the option of putting these in the touch UI. Either way though, great work!!.Version: 1.8

Awesome!!!I’ve always wanted to see an emulator run on a smart watch, so I want to thank the team of ArcEmu for making this a reality. Playing games on a smart watch is inherently not the most convenient way to play games (i.e. playing one handed, small screen), but I think the ArcEmu Team have done their very best to make it as convenient as possible given the limitations. I also love the added settings (i.e save/load states, volume controls, etc). ArcEmu is the only smart watch emulator, I know of, that exists right now, so that alone, makes me grateful..Version: 1.5.3

Works well on watch and phoneIt’s definitely worth $1.99 us. If you’re hesitant but are looking for an emulator on your phone it works really well. It is really only good for turn based or simple games on watch, since the watch doesn’t have dual touch capability. Save states are saved to both so you can almost seamlessly transition between the two. There is some lag at times but it’s slight and momentary. Also it isn’t very customizable or advanced in terms of customization. Which makes it great for people not used to emulation, but limiting to people who like tweaking the setup. Love it, overall..Version: 1.6

Yeah this jawn hardIon even write reviews but they caught me wit they approach so rd this jawn think like I work at fedex n I can bring my watch in so I got this jawn n it’s tuff n really simple once u get it. I just went on Reddit n searched Roms GameCube n found like this list of games for GameCube n I downloaded Mario kart n bro that brung me wayyyyy back fr. I got Lego Star Wars which the quality is better than j would’ve expected. The old gta I think like the first jawn I ain’t never even played. This jawn really tuff fr. I got these two others I’m trying rn too this beyblade game n ed ed n eddy.Version: 1.9.1

Love the featuresI really like the layout of the controls on the phone side of things (I say as if I didn't adjust it as provided in the app). I haven't had much experience on the watch side, but the layout doesn't feel as bad as I thought it'd be and the ability to configure the crown's associated buttons is nice. The only hard part compared to other emulators is deciding what games I would want available at every moment. Very nice, no complaints..Version: 1.9.2

Mind. Blown.I’ve been casually into rom gaming over the past couple years but this…this is a new level of futuristic awesomeness that my young 1990’s self would have lost his mind. I can play GameBoy games on my WATCH? Yes please! I can migrate the save data from the watch to the iPhone seamlessly. Also plugging in with an adapter to a TV or using screen mirroring plus a Switch Pro controller wirelessly lets me play my vintage childhood games on a large TV. This app rocks and is absolutely worth the tiny $2 cost..Version: 1.7.1

Perfect!!So glad I randomly saw this app! I’ve had the Arcadia games on my watch ever since I purchased it, but this app takes things to a whole new level! Not only can I revisit all my favorite childhood games - but now I can play them however I’d like! This app even works with my Backbone controller, which was a HUGE surprise! Love all the customization options too. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Watch or no watch, this app is worth every cent!!.Version: 1.7.1

Great Emulator- needs a featureGreat emulator. Works great on watch also. I like that you can transfer roms to the watch from the phone but there is no option to transfer roms from the watch to the phone. Would come in handy for me as I somehow deleted a rom from the app on the phone but its still on the watch and I cant find the exact version. Hope you can add this option on the watch. Thanks..Version: 1.9.1

More Types of EmulatorsIf possible PLEASE look into 3DS Emulation. I would PAY more money for it, if that was necessary. I ask this because the 3DS appears to be the most challenging to accomplish but does appear to be possible. I will pay more if needed to support the devs in future development of such a difficult request as there is a market for it and I definitely appreciate what has been done currently..Version: 1.7.1

Good emulatorThis a good emulator for all intents and purposes and its ability to be played on the Apple Watch really bumps it up. My only current complaint would be if you could add multi touch support for the Apple Watch companion app. I’ve noticed that I am unable to push the arrow keys and the A of B buttons at the same time. A small thing that makes a big difference in some games. Thx in advance and keep up the great work!.Version: 1.3.1

Ridiculous! Awesome! Are you kidding me! Emulation on the Watch? This is just the best most ridiculous(ly) awesome little app I've seen for the watch and it's proof that devs aren't trying hard enough with it in general. Performance is good, and the saves move back and forth as needed. The UI is evolving, and while the controls are rough, that's more a consequence of being on the watch..Version: 1.6.3

Wouldn’t Recommend for MusiciansThe audio on the sample channel sounds wrong. I’m a chiptune musician and wanted to use this for working with lsdj, but the sample channel has an added waveform whenever it’s triggered that makes it so you can’t hear anything on that channel like it’s supposed to sound. A good example to show what’s wrong can be found with the home brew rom “amenizer.” Actual hardware and every other emulator I’ve tried all you can hear is drums, but on this app there’s an added high pitched screech..Version: 1.6.1

So it’s a good emulator but one thing that breaks a lot of roms…Everything looks good I like the style of it and the transfer but a lot of roms are unplayable due to only being able to press one button at a time on the watch such as in Mario you can’t run and jump just a simple update would fix this wmd I’d honestly give it 5 stars.Version: 1.9.1

Extremely UnderratedThe emulator works flawlessly on both iPhone and Apple Watch, and the sync feature that allows you to seamlessly switch between which device you play on works perfectly and feels too good for a $2 app. Definitely worth the money because it unlocks almost unlimited games..Version: 1.7.1

Yes.Absolute perfection. No further explanation required. Would love to see some more diverse emulation platforms rather than just GB, GBC, and GBA, even if just for the iPhone/iPad versions. Either way, the transition between Watch and phone is seamless, and the data transfers are super fast! (Partly due to the ridiculously small file sizes, but still!) Some of the best ~$2.13 that I’ve ever spent..Version: 1.7.1

Emulator for the watch!Alright we have arrived into the future because now I can play street fighter on my wrist and super Mario world on my wrist which didn’t think would be possible; we must now develop even more emulators such as MAME and definitely Sega! This app rocks buy it now I can testify that it plays super Mario on your wrist and the game music plays well too!.Version: 1.5.3

Get this for classic rpg’s on your watchThis is great for turn based games like pokemon and finial fantasy where you can play them on your watch in like 5 min increments. I just hope they add the ability to sync saves between phone and watch. Edit: this review was already 5 stars but after your reply this app is perfect!.Version: 1.4.2

Never Thought I’d See the DayI’ve been waiting forever for a game boy emulator to hit the AppStore. Being able to play all of my childhood games has been a real treat! If only there was a better and more comfortable way to use the L and R buttons for GBA games when using the touchscreen but I get it’s a limitation. You’re awesome for bringing this to us Apple users!!.Version: 1.4.2

AmazingThe watch emulator works extraordinarily well. It looks fantastic and runs without any hiccups. The game will auto-pause when you lower your hand and resume in the exact same spot when you lift your hand to re-awaken the watch. It doesn’t crash or relaunch when the watch sleeps. They truly nailed it..Version: 1.7.1

Great Emulator! This works amazing for GBA. I love how simple the controls are, and how easy it was to import games and save files. It is easy to save game states and transfer them between iPhone and Watch. I also love being able to use the game in portrait and landscape. This is the emulator I was dreaming of, thank you! Well worth the money..Version: 1.6

Best thing Ive bought with my moneyI was honestly thinking this was going to be a scam, at first, since most apps inflate their reviews to make themselves look legit. However, after giving this a try, it’s been addicting to have on my watch whenever i have time at my job. Best money ever spent!.Version: 1.7.1

Arc EmuFirst of all, thank you! It is great to finally have an emulator on my watch. There are unfortunately not many games provided by Apple. Of course gameplay is partially very difficult or impossible, so it would be great to have actionreplay/ GameShark function to add cheats, so you actually stand a chance of continuing some games. Is this something you could incorporate? Thanks!.Version: 1.6

Love the SimplicityAmazing application, finally a real app I can use that is supported by Apple Store and it works really well! My only issue is there is no speed up or slow down function (that I could find). If these were added it would make some games a lot less grueling 😂.Version: 1.4.2

Best DevThis team is so great. They constantly update and improve their apps for quality of life. In this newest one they even got rid of the irritating “same boy” boot screen. It saves a few seconds on each game start. Also when troubleshooting the dev replies in under an hour. Wonderful guy..Version: 1.5.2

Very cool app, but doesn’t allow importing .savI think this is definitely a very cool idea and it works well . I was just disappointed to find that it does not allow importing .sav files. It says the file type isn’t supported, so you would need to start all your games from scratch..Version: 1.4.2

Best 2 dollars i ever spentBest two dollars I ever spent. I’m not gonna lie. I bought a smart watch because I thought I could play games on it. I found out I couldn’t but now I can! My dream has come true thank you this is lovely works great the emulation is solid very great for passing time highly recommend.Version: 1.6.3

This app shows great promise.I initially had trouble installing this app but the developer helped me via email. The app runs surprisingly good in an Apple Watch. This is perfect for when I can’t take my phone into secure areas and I have a few min here and there to kill. The kid in me is amazed I can play Nintendo on a watch..Version: 1.3.1

Love this emulatorHands down the best gba emulator, runs in the phone and the watch. Everything is seamless between the two devices and easy too use. Spend the couple of bucks and enjoy your favorite Pokémon games/ rom hacks on the devices you always have on you..Version: 1.7.1

I love the portable possibilities!!I just need a setting to change the volume slider with the Digital Crown in game as an option alongside the control ones so I don’t have to back out to the settings when my watch starts blasting lol. Otherwise this is perfect companion app for the watch!!.Version: 1.4.2

AwesomeThis emulator is wonderful for playing Pokémon Quetzal multiplayer. Though I’ve noticed when connecting to a game link, sometimes the game seems to lag a little. It happens to me sometimes, and happens to my friends sometimes. Please work on this if possible!.Version: 1.7.1

Exceeded expectations!!There’s an entire world in my wrist. I’ve been playing pokemon blue version on my Apple Watch 8. It plays beautifully. You can speed it up, you can set the crown to different buttons. For instance when I play slots on pokemon blue, I will set the crown to A/B so I can spam A on the slots. So cool.Version: 1.7.1

Never in my yearsNever in my years did I think I would be playing my fav gba games on my watch. We truly are in the future folks 😂 all jokes aside, this runs perfectly smooth. I love how you can decide what the crown functions as. Wonderful job devs. Cheers.Version: 1.7.1

FantasticToday I played a homebrew RPG on my watch and it was great. The controls were well done and everything worked as expected. I am shocked at how well this works and I believe it shows that real games can be done on the apple watch..Version: 1.4.2

Apple Watch CompatibleSaw an Instagram reel of some dude playing Pokemon on his watch and one hour later I was doing the same with a few more games. Took less than an hour to do, can’t wait to really get into it!.Version: 1.7.1

FinallyHopefully the first step towards more emulators on Apple products. So excited for this although it’s only Gameboy games right now. I haven’t tried it yet but the fact it’s also able to be on watches is insane. I love it..Version: 1.4.2

Great Emulator just can’t get it to work on all Apple WatchThe app is amazing on both the iPhone and iPad, however I could not get it to transfer a game to a standalone Apple Watch from family setup although the description say the app will work. Can you guide me through how to transfer a game? Thanks.Version: 1.7.1

Great!Very smooth, it’s fun to be able to play the old games and on my watch too! Very easy to switch back and forth between my phone and watch. Love that you can customize the controls.Version: 1.7.1

Works perfectly! It's so fun to play GBA games on my watch. This emulator works exactly as you'd expect, with all the features of a good emulator. It is also very polished with an appealing and intuitive UI which I really appreciate. Highly recommend!.Version: 1.9.1

Apple Watch1.99 to play Pokemon emerald on a Apple Watch…what a time to be alive. 100% recommend. Other than that delta has better skins and online support among other things. Only got this for the watch support.Version: 1.8

Almost perfect! It’s a very good stable emulator. I’m hoping to check out if a controller works on it. If it does, it’ll be a 5 star. The only thing I’d like to give critique on is id like it if there was a way to customize more of the load out of the games. Like folders, rearranging the files, etc..Version: 1.6.3

The only thing missingCan you please make it possible to press two buttons at the same time on the Apple Watch please it can only read one finger if it can only ready two buttons at the same time!.Version: 1.7.1

I love it!It’s different and it works really well for turn base games and games that don’t need multiple of inputs at once. I hope they continue to make this better! It’s worth the money.Version: 1.6.3

Very Cool Em!This emulator app is a gift from God! I’ve been waiting for iPhone to come through with something like this my whole life. Now it’s here and then some! I can’t wait to see what more it can do going forward! Thanks devs!!!.Version: 1.6

AmazingThe developer responded to me on Twitter saying he'd have apple watch series 3 support up soon. Had it updated within a few days and now I'm having a great time playing my games. Now I need a bigger apple watch.Version: 1.4.2

It’s perfectA few days ago I was going to write a review asking for a fast forward and yall added it before I even could ! The interface customization is amazing the whole app is a chefs kiss.Version: 1.5

Works Beautifully!Plays games really well and the Apple Watch functionality is really well thought out. I only wish the Apple Watch emulator added Bluetooth controller support..Version: 1.7.1

Awesome! Thanks for this! Pretty awesome! Also, as a request, could we have different button themes? Like a GBA theme / frame around the screen as well? For vintage flavor :).Version: 1.9.1

Great on watch and phoneWorks great on the apple watch and on the phone, has a simple interface and it has cross device save integration.Version: 1.9.1

Great emulator!Charming, simple, functional. Worth every penny!.Version: 1.9.1

Nice work !Is there a possibility you could add retroachievements support please ?.Version: 1.9.1

GreatWorks like a charm on the wrist..Version: 1.8

Works greatBought this just to see games running on my watch and for the novelty of that alone it's worth it, works great. If we could get Retro Achievements added that would be a huge bonus.Version: 1.8

Game boy micro on your wristBest little app I’ve ever bought. It’s so cool having Pokémon on my wrist.Version: 1.7.1

Solid EmulatorI enjoyed using it to play Pokemon and Need For Speed games on my Watch. I do wish you had more control customization options. For example, I could make a transparent button that’s “Right + A” so doing multi inputs is easier. Or I can assign crown commands to hold a button. If it had more stuff like that, it would be perfect.Version: 1.7.1

Easiest purchaseIncredible. Jaw dropping. I can’t get enough. Watch support as well? Migrating save files between seamlessly? This has all but no fluff..Version: 1.7.1

AmazingSuch a great emulator, games look and run great on the watch and phone. Only thing I’d like to see is a save state history… I am playing rpgs and wanted to go back to a decision I made a few hours ago..Version: 1.6

Missing some featuresWould be great if it had like a stretch to screen option for iPhones as well as an option to put cheats. Fantastic emulator anyway..Version: 1.6.3

Feature requestPlease allow for cheats. I would like evolve my Kadabra but have no way to other than to modify the save on my computer. I would also like to have the option of a joystick on the watch. Otherwise tremendous product..Version: 1.6.1

Absolutely amazingI got a new Apple Watch Series 9 and thought to myself, what if I could play games on it. Did some googling, found a video, ended up here, and boy was I ever happy when the thing worked flawlessly. Keep it up.Version: 1.4.2

Awesome project!I have been looking for a pokemon game for my Apple Watch, but didn't find what I was looking for. This is perfect! Could there be an option to make it "always on" so that the watch screen doesn't turn black (off) if I move my wrist? Thank you!!.Version: 1.4.2

Amazing!Pretty awesome to have gba golf games like ESPN on my watch. Works surprisingly great.Version: 1.3.1

Take my moneyI downloaded this app thinking it was gonna be a gimmick. But it’s well thought out. The game progress syncs between the watch and phone seamlessly. My only ask is for a 2X or 3X speed option if it’s possible. Way to go devs! Excited to see more features in the future 👍.Version: 1.3.1
