Highly recommendI was recommended to use this app by a native Spanish speaker. And I have only been using this app for a few days but I can already say that I have improved immensely. I used Duolingo on and off for a few years and couldn’t tell you a single thing I remember learning. In these past few days my (Colombian native) boyfriend has told me how genuinely shocked he is at how well my Spanish is and even I am proud of myself. I knew next to nothing but I am already learning full sentences and phrases, and he even said I’m learning words he didn’t even know of. The videos in this app are extremely helpful, and they teach you what each little word means. Not only that but I feel like this is a way more realistic way of talking versus Duolingo teaching you things you will never use. I was worried about spending money on an app I didn’t know anything about, but I will say that my 10$ was well spent..Version: 3.09

Great for Actually Learning a LanguageFor a while, I used Duolingo but after a year, I realized it was more scratching a completion itch in my brain rather than actually progressing my language learning. Parrot feels like its built for you to actually learn a language. It utilizes much more realistic examples and does a great job of assessing your current progression level. It then tailors its content to your level. Overall, very excited to keep using Parrot and finally get to fluent, or at least conversational, in español :).Version: 4.4.2
Like the ideaThis app is really nice im having a problem with hearing and comprehension but I can read and can only understand at least 75% of what I’m reading so this app is helping a lot. My only consistent problem is. When translating the words to English, the translation is in the wrong context to the story so when you write the translation in English it doesn’t make sense. For example the story said: “Tal vez este nuevo edificio vaya a ser una discoteca” when I translated each word it gave me: “Such time this new building going to be a nightclub” I had to use Google translate which says: “Perhaps this new building going to be a nightclub”.Version: 5.1.0
Getting the same phrases over and overFirst, I want to say that I love this app and genuinely think it is worth the price. I normally don’t even write reviews. In fact, this is my first one - but, I use this app daily so it is an annoyance that I find increasingly annoying. You know how after you watch a part of a video and you click “Let’s practice”, well if you happen to not click on any of the unknown words (which sometimes I like to utilize the app as a podcast and will just watch videos) it gives the same recycled basic vocab words that I’ve answered literally a million times over. For example the app has asked me to type out and give the meaning to “así” and “te” at least 50+ times and it is driving me up the wall, truly. I was hoping this bug/glitch would be fixed in the update but it wasn’t 😭. I need the vocab drills to mix it up a bit. Otherwise this app is 5/5 stars..Version: 5.1.0
Game changerUPDATE: Would very much appreciate an annual subscription!I’ve been learning Spanish for 3 years and this is one of the best apps I’ve come across. Best Spanish-learning App I’ve Come Across!I have always wanted to learn spanish due to my extended family living in Puerto Rico & ever since I came across the parrot app, I could tell my spanish has tremendously improved. Widget for iPhone home screenHi! I just joined the parrot app and as someone who’s been using Duolingo, tik tok influenced me to try you guys. Duolingo has a widget that you can add to your Home Screen and I think it would be such a good idea if you guys did something similar to remind people to practice! I just wish that they made it so the vocab could show that a verb has different conjugations depending on the tense rather than having verbs of different tenses count as different words.
