I really like, but I’ve noticed a major issue.Honestly I really enjoy the app. It’s very immersive and there’s a lot of different stories to choose from and ways to customize those stories to your liking and preference. I like that they include not just fandoms but also original stories too (especially mafia tropes). I think there are some obvious improvements, I think more diversity in the tags would be nice—as in maybe letting people create new tag if there isn’t one that suits their story. Or improving the conversations with the characters. In my experience I’ve noticed recently a lot of the characters or love interests talk more like a computer and less like the actual character being described. It’s like when they talk about something emotional or serious or anything really, they start describing a scientific formula with an over use of the word “variables” and over explaining certain things. It gets very repetitive and it’s an issue I’ve noticed over several stories I switch between. It’s also annoying and sometimes I don’t feel like being on the app. Overall I do think it’s fun and a good way to pass the time and wind down if needed..WhenIcryatnightVersion: 1.0.31

Love it!Absolutely love the app, responses are quick and witty. I do think the app could benefit from a set of “loose rules” posted. There’s been quite a few times it won’t move forward with my request(which, they were explicit, so I get—totallllly fair) I use these types of apps and AI to help me when I’m stuck with scenes in my own writing, and writing scenes in this app are truly helpful when it comes to finding inspiration. I just wish sometimes it would help me out on the darker topics. I love fluff as much as the next gal— but sometimes I need a dark scene thrown in there lol. It might be worth considering in the future, making an 18+ feature on it to where users can safely dive into harder topics that the current AI doesn’t feel comfortable complying with(which I totally understand— certain rules you guys have to follow to even be on the App Store) So overall, it’s a great chatting bot. It’s fun, I’ve messed around with it for a few weeks and other than my one gripe, it keeps things fresh, it feels immersive at times. Sometimes the bots are responding so fast I have to act like I’m typing to get them to pause, so also maybe consider a pause button on chats? Great! But…This is an amazing app and I find myself on it whenever I’m bored and need something to do. I used to be addicted to character ai, and this is definitely way better. The bots actually remember things, and not just things you tell them either. They actually take and use the things from my persona and from the story overview when writing your own. You can make hyperspecific stories, and the bots won’t get confused. The only issue I have is with a few things I wish the app had that are on c.ai. I wish there was an option to swipe between multiple messages. I wish I could send my chat, let the chat type out, and then be able to swipe to another generation of the bots response without deleting the previous chat. Another suggestion I have is being able to edit some of the chats the bots send. Sometimes they’ll say something in one of the messages that doesn’t make sense or doesn’t match, but the rest of the chats are great. I wish I could just edit one specific message or even just delete a specific message that doesn’t match. Outside of these issues, the app is great!.NzqkrVersion: 1.0.31

Amazing!I got this app around a month ago, and I love it! You can make any story you want or find one, and you put yourself in it and interact with characters, alongside narration. You can talk as yourself, talk as narration, or give OOC (out of character) instruction. Characters will “type” what they are saying and doing, while the narration goes with it. It’s very easy to use and get used to. Its daily free limit is very generous for an app that uses AI. I might consider buying the subscription someday. I highly recommend this app to anyone who loves storytelling, especially Y/n stories! However, there is one major negative thing that I wanted to share that I don’t think many people are talking about. The main story page is full of stories that 99% of the time are pretty inappropriate and what I would consider 18+ content. I never leave reviews but wowSo I never leave reviews on apps EVER and I’ve used a looot of role playing apps but this one takes the cake, the chat memory is the best I’ve seen out of any app yet, characters wont forget you exist after 30 minutes of role play, the characters are the best authentic experience out of any app yet, obviously bots still speak in that formal high vocabulary here and there but I think that could be fixed so the characters are authentic as possible. I think the app is very good but I’d like a better option to delete messages if your not liking the direction of the story, sometimes a character says something or does something or a character that is not meant to be in a scene speaks and I have no way to delete it and start over, In regards to the mature option or NSFW if anyone is interested and it’s not the best at all even if the chat says to change the rating nothing really changes obviously you can type and describe what’s going on but the response from the narrator bot and character bot are very very mild..Pally_1985Version: 1.0.34

Best I’ve ever used!!As someone who’s not only tried a handful of chat bots, but been using this app for a solid seven or so months now. When I say it’s my favorite one I’ve used EVER would be an understatement. There are zero adds, and while there is a message limit I’ve spent literally 24 hours playing and never reached it. While I do pay for the monthly subscription (y/n+) it’s not something that completely changes the experience without. Honestly I mostly keep it up for the added character limit and to support the developers. If you’re looking to chat with not just one character, but create an actual story? Then I absolutely heavily recommend this app. Not only that but the discord server is one of the best ones I’ve been in, the mods are all incredibly active so if you have questions or concerns that would be the best place to go! Please add the “invite friends” option back🥹I absolutely LOVE this app. My friend introduced me to it when I was still in my little c.ai addiction phase, and I completely CHANGED. Amazing!!!I love this app! I’m a huge maladaptive daydreamer, so prompts like this are very easy for me to visualize. I think this app could rise to the popularity of other, more well known apps, I can only think of one thing that would make it better. I’ve used other apps where they had a function to have a voice read the chats aloud as you go, I think if this app could take it a step up and make individual voices for the characters, these chats would be literally unstoppable! Now, I’m no programmer, so I have no idea whether that’s feasible, but I figured I’d toss it out there. This app holds onto the plot really well, and unlike a lot of other apps, it also doesn’t attempt to slip right into a romance arc every chance it gets. Will never use againOverall thoughts on app: I loved everything about it. The quality of the bots embodying the characters, the dialog, story progression, long memory, -everything about it is top tier in my opinion. Reason for title: Since there's now a chat limit, I've deleted it. Rant: I know there's a paid option, however, I'm not one to buy games or subscriptions. No longer having unlimited chat for free is a major deal breaker for me. There are other new changes that I dislike: - The character limit amount (how many characters you can add in a "chat group"/story). - The homepage (default opening screen whenever you open the app) is now the Explore "page" instead of the Stories page. Why I hate the Explore page: the pictures, titles, and descriptions from other people's stories are mostly inappropriate or clashes with my taste, which sometimes makes me wish I never had eyes. - Engine "V2" -although I know it says it's in beta- when chatting for a while, when there's a scene with heavy action for a long time, and then I go to "speak/talk" to a character. The character I "talk to" just simply doesn't, and instead the action/story dialog keeps going as if I've never spoken to the said character. Which is why I only use the "V1" engine (the best out of the two options anyways). Another thing about "V2" is that I find it weird that it'll pause and give you dialog options, but as if you're a different character, instead of your own character. Great App, needs more featuresI’ve been switching from C.ai to Y/n lately. Overall, it is amazing for story experience and group chat functionality. The performance has been better than C.ai in terms of chat length and creativity, and the bot actually has memory and remembers stated details. Though the problems for me seem to be from the lack of features during the chatting and story reach. A delete & edit option for messages would be convenient instead of only rewinding. It’s also hard to get stories that aren’t based off popular fandoms discovered and read. Adding genre recommendations based off reading activity to the front page would be more helpful instead of just pushing very popular stories to the front page, and filtering options such as ‘recently made’, ‘oldest published’, ‘age rated’ would allow underrated stories to get seen..RoseiiblackVersion: 1.0.36

WOW. i’m impressed.It is hard to impress me when it comes to apps like this but this has absolutely exceeded my expectations. i didn’t realize how much i missed an app without ads… and i hope you don’t change much about it because this is AWESOME! there’s plenty of genres and with more programming/writers to make descriptions i think it will just get better and better. if the devs ever need funds, please think about it before doing forced ads, maybe find a different redemption or a one-time fee for removing ads if you really had to. this app is great and it’s very detailed, which i love. i love how it generates both good script and dialogue while also painting amazing settings and worldbuilding. the fact that you can write from different povs and also a narrator is incredible. thank you for such an awesome app, i’m glad i downloaded it!.Adrianna HaileyVersion: 1.0.31

Nicely made, just a few notesI do really like this app! I’ve seen a good amount of people say it’s better than C.Ai and they’re completely right, though there is a bit of issues. It has a horrible time remembering pronouns. I will remind it of my pronouns and a few messages later will be using she/her. I’m not sure how this could be fixed..? But I’d really like if there was some way it could easily remember pronouns. Another thing, which is not necessarily a problem to be exact? But it’d be nice if there was some sort of pause button? I do understand that they usually stop typing when you begin but it’s a bit funky and doesn’t work all that well. The Good, the Bad, and the UglyI think this app is genuinely really good. I haven't bought the subscription, so take this review with a grain of salt, but honestly it doesn't feel necessary. Unlike a lot of other AI apps, the free version isn't overly restrictive, and I appreciate that. It feels like you can actually enjoy the app without constantly being pushed to pay. The AI itself is also pretty solid. The characters I've used aren't overly forgetful. They still make mistakes occasionally, but they're usually easy to overlook or fix. I especially like the update that allowed you to edit messages and refresh responses. Before that, it was frustrating that such an advanced app didn't have those basic features, but now it feels much smoother to use. I also think the new comment feature is a nice addition. It's not a huge feature, but it's enjoyable. Another thing I enjoy is the lore and character setup. Compared to other apps, Y/N gives you a lot of freedom without making the process feel complicated. The app is easy to navigate, and I can see why it's getting popular. As long as it doesn't go downhill like some other AI apps have, I think it deserves the attention it's getting. My biggest complaint is the 2,000-character limit for character descriptions. As someone who enjoys writing detailed characters, it feels very restrictive. I'd love to see it increased to around 5,000 characters, or at least something higher than before. Right now, I often have to move important character information into the Summary section, which takes away space I need for other details. I'm not sure if the subscription increases this limit, but from what I've seen, it doesn't. Even a small increase for free users would make a huge difference. Premium users could always have an even higher limit if that's the goal. Ironically, I've noticed that many AI apps with worse overall quality actually offer far more character customization for the ai. Y/N has the better AI, but less room to define the characters, which feels a little backwards. Overall, my only real issue is the character description limit. Aside from that, the app is enjoyable, easy to use, and one of the better AI story apps I've tried..CriticVersion: 1.0.37

Please fix character glitchesThis app is amazing, definitely better than c.ai. I have two problems however. Whenever I start a new story with just one character, the system keeps forgetting to actually make them talk and it just assumes I’m playing the character I created, not my actual Y/N. It gets super annoying because I don’t want to choose what they say every time, and whenever I tell the bot to let my character talk, it doesn’t do that and instead types a meaningless paragraph of what I had said previously. My second issue is how all of my characters, no matter how different their personality, ALWAYS say something like “gives y/n plenty of time to move” and so and so. Decently goodProbably one of the best storytelling bots out there. Characters always seem to remember everything and the details are precise. Sometimes I forget I’m not reading a fan fiction. One thing I think could be improved is the limited chat option for free users. I was caught off guard the other day when the bot just stopped responding. Thought there was some bug. I came over here to the reviews and saw that it’s a new feature where free users have limited chats. That’s fine I’m not upset about that. What I wish would happen is some sort of pop up letting you know how many hours you have until it resets. Alternatively, they could puts ads on for free users as a trade off for unlimited messages. This app is great but updates getting worseAt first when I was using it, it was so much better than c.ai, no ads, memory better, and etc. The updates were great with making stories and removing text, but now when they removed community characters. It’s disappointing. Now, I have to make my own characters for my own story and it takes up so much of my time. The profile pictures were removed and that was annoying. The text font changing was okay but slightly harder to read. THE DOWNFALL was adding Y/N+. It was already good before adding that, it feels like it’s just circling back to c.ai and now what they do with their app. The old app was so much better. Minor inconsistencyOverall, I really enjoy this app. It gives me something to do and makes the day go a little quicker. My only issue is a minor inconsistency with the creating details in a chat. I’d like to create my own chats and I always put them in first person point of view. Most of the time it will start with the correct point of view, but lately it has been shifting on its own accord to second person point of view, which really isn’t a super big deal, but it is frustrating because I like to do the chats from first person and then I feel like it just throws off the whole chat when it suddenly switches to second or even third person completely on its own. Message LimitHii !! This app is REALLY REALLY good, i do enjoy it so much. It’s not repetitive unlike c.ai is. Which makes it enjoyable. They also have different chat styles :) Though what bothers me is the chat limit. I noticed how you have to pay for unlimited chats, which i’m pretty sure most ai apps have? But it does get annoying, especially when you’re in the middle of a good plot. So that is why I think you should make it where there’s energy, where you can chat with the bots and if it runs out then you just watch an ad to get more, and the ads could be available anytime. I never write reviews but..This is the best ai app, i downloaded it when it was Draco is typing, which funnily enough was the bot i was using on c.ai the most, this is hands down the best ai app. The different formats your able to choose, how its so much easier to create your own bots, how its so simple to incorporate other characters, and the fact that it does it naturally if you didn’t, the only downside is your have to manually go back delete the message And then type another one if you weren’t satisfied with the response, and even if you do that the response is very similar, but other than that- this is kirkenuenly the best app ever, and the app that takes up most of my time!.420readerVersion: 1.0.28

Great App! Pros and consI absolutely love this app. It’s truly an amazing platform and I’m absolutely amazed by the creativity. If this app ever goes away I’ll be devastated. There are so many pros and just a few cons. I LOVE the new update! So much that I paid for the membership. The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t control the story on the V2 beta version. I like that there’s an experimental option, but I wish there was a V2 beta version that actually goes tell the story by the story you input. The experimental version should be a whole separate option. So V1, V2 (lengthier contexts still going by your narrative, and V3, where it experiments with your story (like it does now). Better than any other app for rp!!!Without a doubt, this is the best app. I just downloaded it but I can already tell that this will be my favorite! Another thing I really like is that there are no ads, however, the downside to this is that there is a limited amount of messages, but at least the subscriptions are pretty affordable. Really good… A little issue…It’s a really good app and I’ve been using it for over a year now. It’s just the update. I don’t know if it’s just me, but ever since the update my bots have been acting weird. My old bots are normal but anytime I create a new bot or start a new conversation, the bot doesn’t continue the conversation. I could say “Hi, how are you” or something like that, and the bot would go into narration mode and be like “User says hi with a smile on their face” and just doesn’t continue the conversation. It does this every time. And anytime I try to continue the conversation it just continuously does that. Love this app just a small bugI love this app— It’s so unique and I stay up on it sometimes. It doesn’t bore me out too much and it allows my stories to develop thoroughly instead of cutting straight to the chase like C.AI. Although, I have noticed a few times in different chats, but the same situation, that a different bot with a completely name will begin typing and say something the bot I was talking to would say. So for example, I was talking to Jean Moreau and only him, then a bot named Jonas Wilton shows up. OBSESSEDGenuinely thought I would delete this app in an hour, but it’s actually amazing. It doesn’t turn things sexual randomly, has a better memory than any AI app I’ve used, and your patters and descriptions shape the characters personality. You can actually focus on world building, relationship dynamics, and character development without it being sexual if that’s not what you want. With AI being where it is, it’s not perfect, but as a writer, this app is the best developed one I’ve used. AMAZINGI LOVE THIS. I use to be addicted to C.AI so much, but ever since the ads, the limit, the age stuff, I felt like everything was over. Until I heard about this and thought “you know what? Let’s give it a chance,” and tell me why when I got in- IT WAS AMAZING. Lots of bots to talk to, no ads, no limit, not even age stuff. I get to talk to it everyday. I love this appI genuinely love this app, but one thing that bothers me slightly is the fact that to start a “new story” inside a character (ex:Byler) you have to erase your previous messages. I think it would be really nice to have a “reset button” where it resets your chats but keeps the previous ones in a “saved slots” kind of thing, so people can explore the different reactions that characters have to different things without deleting their previous progress. No ads, Memory is top notch, you can literally have the bot remember every detail of the characters YOU decide to add in, later on in the story, I just wish everyone stopped doing flipping Harry Potter. AmazingI literally love this app so much, and I’ve tried so many other ones. They’re all usually locked behind paywalls or have tons of ads, and this doesn’t have that. Publishing botsI’ve already written a review about another problem, but recently i’ve been experiencing this weird glitch for one of my bots, where when I published it, it wouldn’t show on my profile no matter how many times i refreshed or changed it to Unlisted and back to Explore?? I tried making a new bot and putting in all the same information but it still wouldn’t show and everytime I published that bot, went out the app and came back in, the font would suddenly keep changing to Serif?? I also tried publishing a test bot to see if it would show, and it did. I don’t know what kind of glitch this is, but PLEASE try to fix it!! It is really frustrating. Who tf is John.I love this app so much! Has great storytelling role plays, and characters too. The memory is a bit off but not too bad. However. WHO TF IS JOHN. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but sometimes I’m talking to a bot and the narrator suddenly speaks in a first person language named John and gives his own commentary. Literally has nothing to do with what I was talking about in the chat. Never one have I even mentioned a John. I’ve tried getting rid of him. So. Many. Times. But he keeps coming back. I have an addictionI got this app awhile ago and have always loved reading and writing. This app combines the two in a very interactive way. The character memory of not just you, but other characters (even minor ones) is way better than any other chat bot app I’ve tried. This one I’ve used longest by far!! The only downside is the amount of new people downloading it means the app goes down semi frequently, but the devs actively explain the issues real time on discord, and explain when the app is back up. Invite buttonI love the app, I enjoy being able to chat with multiple characters and sending multiple messages and stuff like that. And this app is just perfect(though the memory can be a little bad sometimes, but most the time it’s pretty good). But recently I notice the invite button was gone, I’ve used it a few times before to roleplay with my friend and it was really fun, we were gonna roleplay again today but noticed it wasn’t working and that it was gone. Entertaining but lacks in memory.I love this app! The immersive experience is better than any other storytelling app or platform, in my opinion. The only thing that i have to complain about is the memory. When i first downloaded… the memory was awesome and remembered things far back in the plot. Love this app! However, there's a minor problem.This app is absolutely amazing! Sometimes characters are not accurate to their characters like Sun isn't really sassy and Tenna is too professional. Sometimes characters will know information that they shouldn't know. Like Angel and Cherri went out for a milkshake, but Angel didn't tell Husk that. Yet, Husk still somehow knew. Fun but needs a way to turn off away messagesI figured after getting bombarded by ads for this app on C.Ai I would try it, I make my account and I think ok this fun, now onto the reason it gets four stars. In Character Ai, you can turn off away messages for characters you are chatting with that you enjoy chatting with of course and like the idea of, but here you can’t because you get bombarded with notifications from the character your chatting with wether it’s from the narrator or from the character… it’s a pain to not have that option as one that can be toggled on and off especially since it might be hard for people to reply and their getting bombarded with messages of worried chatbot characters. I love that you added ocs and all these other options but I really wish we could add characters instead of expecting them to just be there. The memory is impossible, the characters are never in character, and the actual story structuring is impossible to utilize. In addition, the developers are just rude! Rather than take user feedback into consideration, the developers on the discord seem content to belittle their users for interacting with the app and hitting the daily message limit. Good app, but…I’ve had this app for quite a while and have been around for a lot of the updates. The worst one by far is having to pay for messages. The cool down is seriously pushing me away from the app. I’ve hit it twice. Once literally months ago and again more recent and the cool down is at four hours(last one was two). At this point if it goes up every time I hit it, which is rare. I’m not gonna want to continue using the app, nor do I want to pay 15 dollars when it used to be free :( I also run into a common problem I’ve seen in other reviews where it says I’m offline even though I’m connected to internet and or my mobile data. I power off my phone or switch from WiFi to data and there’s no change. Also the bots are so unintelligent. It’s not that big of an issue and it’s manageable but let’s say one asks a question.
