Solitaire Associations Journey App Comments & Reviews

Solitaire Associations Journey Positive Reviews

Love it!!!! Addictive!!!!This game is hella fun and addictive. I didn’t like the ads but loved the game so much that I paid for them to go away. I never do that! I play all the time and it gets harder as you go so it never gets boring. The games go in a cycle. They start off with just a few slots and suits and fairly simple and as you pass them they get more challenging until you get to one with lots of suits and about 5 slots that is really challenging and will definitely take you a few tries to pass it. I am a person who can play a game until I get bored with it and then I’ll delete the game from my phone. This is the longest lasting game I’ve had on my phone. I do see some people complaining about you have to spend big money to play this game. I’ve only spent the amount it took me to get the ads taken off because I don’t like ads. I haven’t spent another dime on this game. If I get to the end and I run out of chances, I just start over again until I get it. It’s challenging. That’s what it’s meant to be. If it was too easy, you'd get bored with it and delete it. You do not have to spend a lot of money to play this game. Also, when you pay to have the ads taken out and you want more turns after you’ve run, out of turns, it’ll give you the choice to watch an ad to get more turns..Version: 1.10.1

Nice twist on classic gameI enjoy logic games and word games, and this is a nice combination of both. I needed to set a time limit on this app because I noticed that I kept losing track of time - often telling myself, “This is the last board,” but moving to the next without a thought. 😊 One of the things that I enjoy is being introduced to or reminded of new/different words… For example, I’m sure I learned the names of meteors and moons at some point, but I can confidently list them again after being repeatedly exposed to them! I recently passed level 400 on my phone and was pleased to discover a nice challenge (earn keys to get extra coins). After learning NOT to spend coins because it took so long to amass 900 for one “undo,” this was a nice addition. … I happened to play on my iPad last night - at level 8 - and noticed that the challenge offer wasn’t there. Maybe one has to achieve advanced levels of play before the offer is made, which is fine by me. The only TINY critique is the frequency of the ads… one is met with an ad upon completion of the first category, whether that be 3 cards or 8 cards. From a psychological standpoint, associating the completion of a category with an ad prompt might be considered a negative reinforcement 😉 (not wanting to complete the task in fear of the consequence). On the other hand, I appreciate being able to anticipate the ads, both in timing AND with the “Ad Break” banner. I understand that ads are necessary to make the game accessible to everyone, so my critique is superficial and subjective… I think it’s a great game and just realized that I don’t think I’ve ever been asked to pay for the game (which I also appreciate)…I might seek out that option as a more explicit way of supporting the creators..Version: 1.4.3

Was once fun…When I first downloaded this game, it was a simple- no bells or whistles- a game of matching solitaire. It was fun to fly through the levels, and I could look past the ads because the gameplay was worth it. Now, especially with this most recent “update”, I can say with certainty that that game is no longer fun. The first reason why is a personal preference: I dislike the lock and key feature, and the racing corgi mini-feature is ignorable. I find the lock and key aspect to be incredibly frustrating and would much prefer it not to be there. Now, the real reason the game has become nigh unplayable to me is the slowness. A few “updates” ago I was able to use the app with no issue. When I selected a card, it would respond immediately. Now there’s a terrible lag! I don’t know enough about coding and game development to say for certain that it’s all the additional features on the app, but the app worked just fine before they were added on. I can’t complete a single level without my phone overheating in my hands and the game slowing to a snail’s pace. It’s ridiculous, and I’m about to delete the app! And while I’m on a rant, I’d like to complain about some of the ads on this app. A short while ago I got an ad for a reading app (Galatea or some other). I enjoy reading badly written material for kicks and usually read these ads through. However, I was appalled at the content of some of these reading app ads. There was suggestive and sexual content, and I’m fairly sure that THIS app is friendly for all ages, and I’m worried that minors could potentially be exposed to this inappropriate content. Please look into this. Thank you..Version: 1.11.0

Almost ThereGreat game. It’s a mindless game to fiddle with while watching tv, falling asleep, or for that break in the day to reset. Effortless engagement - can be repetitive and a certain level of luck is required, but repeating a level is no big deal. Honestly it makes it more engaging because it encourages you to refine your strategies to reduce moves and remember associations kind of like those memory card games. I don’t get the other reviews complaining about it being a cash grab to progress - I think they miss the point of the game… it would be incredulously boring to expect to win a level on the first or even second try. Go play another game if that’s your expectation. Just like solitaire, how the cards are dealt (luck) and strategy are involved. One note - and why it isn’t 5 stars … I do appreciate the shorter than average ads, but I think the $9.99 opt out of ads is kind of outrageous. It’s just not that type of game. I’d go as high as $4.99, but expecting more (I’d imagine) would get a lot less people to go for it, especially considering most people are aware they’ll only be into a game so long before moving on to a new one. But who knows, I’m sure you’ve done an analysis on the cross section of when does the price of opting out produce less revenue than the amount of users sticking around to generate revenue from watching ads. If not, hopefully you guys look into that (and determine it’s a lower threshold than it is currently) before I lose interest in the app lol. This is one game I actually bothered considering…. Until I saw the price. And good enough game that I actually wrote a review… which is just something I do. So it’s a good game! Well done..Version: 1.0.0

Great game !"Solitaire Association" isn't just another version of the classic card game; it's a fresh and engaging twist that breathes new life into a timeless favorite. From the moment you launch the game, you're greeted with a sleek, intuitive interface and a calming aesthetic that makes it a joy to play for hours on end. The variety of game modes keeps things interesting, whether you're in the mood for a quick round or a more strategic challenge. What truly sets "Solitaire Association" apart is its innovative approach to gameplay. The addition of unique power-ups and special cards adds an element of surprise and strategy that I haven't found in other solitaire games. These features not only enhance the fun but also provide new ways to approach each hand, making every game feel fresh and exciting. Beyond the core gameplay, the attention to detail is evident throughout. The smooth animations, satisfying sound effects, and customizable themes all contribute to a polished and immersive experience. Regular updates introduce new challenges and content, ensuring that there's always something new to discover. "Solitaire Association" is a must-have for any solitaire fan and a standout title in the mobile gaming landscape. Five stars all the way!.Version: 1.0.0

Too many adsThe only reason I’m giving this 5 stars is so it’s seen. It’s a good game but the developers have ruined the game with all the ads. They claim it’s to pay to keep the game up and running. Please it’s just not worth watching and hour of ads to play a 10 minute game. I’ve written reviews about all the ads but it doesn’t matter to them, it’s all about the money, they’re getting rich because we have to sit through ad after ad, it’s just not worth it!!! Do yourself a favor don’t waste your time with this game unless you like spending your time watching ads. Some of these ads are 2 minute long a lot of them no matter how many times you click the X they just take you to their download page, others like temu every time you click the X it takes you to their website which is known for pishing, then there is google ypu sit through a 2 minute ad and still have to click through another 4 or 5 pages to get back to the game!!!! It gotten so ridiculous these ads and the game makers they’ll take the ads away for $9.99 a month. I see the next class action law suit being against the App Store, Google play the others for not controlling the ads and fake cash games..Version: 1.6.0

Challenging but GOODI rated my review five stars because this game is like no other game out there. In the ad at first I thought it would be just normal solitaire, but then when I started playing it I realized it is a whole different experience. You get to match the cards to the master cards, or so I call it, and you only get a number of tries before you have to restart, watch an ad for ten more tries, or pay coins to get more tries, I don’t know how many tries you get from paying coins lol. It’s a really good game and you should get it, but if you are having trouble deciding PLEASE READ THIS. I am a very smart girl and I don’t have trouble learning a lot of things, but at level five it started getting tricky for me. And then at level seven I did it in 27 tries! I think the levels are unbalanced, level eight is harder than level fifteen. Lastly, the ads are insane one time I got an “ad break” after my first try. Anyway if you like a challenge and matching cards this is a great game for you. XOXO, Travelpanda2127! Have a great day!.Version: 1.3.0

It’s okay — some issues though. The overall gameplay is quite fun and challenging. If you know the stuff that the game prompts, then it actually becomes fun and engaging. But when you don’t know the prompt, the game becomes difficult. I understand a quick Google search can help you understand what the theme is talking about but I feel like if you need to go outside the game in order to find an answer then the prompt shouldn’t be there in the first place. say you get a theme of cats and you don’t know a lot of cat breeds and so you’re forced to shuffle through cards with words related to cats that you may not know and then you have to go back and add them and then you just lose a bunch of turns. maybe adding a definition for what the word or theme is trying to convey that players can access Would help. I’d also like to mention there are a lot of ads. One thing that bugs me is the “ad breaks” that literally do nothing for the game except take away your attention and causes the player to sit through something and get bored instead of actually playing the game. However, I do understand that this game is free and they need to make money somehow so maybe instead of just having weird ad breaks you could have a system where in order to get hints you have to watch an ad..Version: 1.6.1

Good but ads make me so annoyedThis game is fun I like solitaire but having the word association makes it more fun to play. The ads though? Very annoying. I understand having an ad after you finish a level or getting extra stuff or moves through ads but in the middle of the level? Absolutely so annoying. I would’ve deleted this app so long ago if I didn’t actually like playing it. There should never be ads randomly in the middle of the level. I know you need to monetize the game and making the ads annoying can encourage people to pay for ad free options but you lose more players by doing this. Even if the ad in the middle is very short it still takes away from playing the game. Also this one app shows me the same 3-5 apps constantly. Back to back. This may not be something developers control but it makes it even more annoying. I’m not even seeing anything new just the same 15-30 seconds of the exact same thing. A lot of them are AI too and it bothers me to no end! Extremely unhappy with the ad frequency. Once I lose interest in this game there will be no reason to come back and try it because the ads are unbearable unless you genuinely like and want to keep playing..Version: 1.4.3

Solitaire Associations JourneyI love this game. I’m a words person and it’s just challenging enough, but not so hard that it makes you not want to play. There are two things that I don’t like about it. First, I don’t mind watching an ad after each game, as each game does take some time to play, however, I feel like two minute ads are way too long. I find myself not wanting to play anymore when they are that long, or I start to doze off, of boredom. Secondly, this goes hand in hand with the first one, but also, slightly different; you don’t know every move that you’re going to have to make, obviously, as you don’t know what’s coming in what order, so I feel like there should be enough moves added, to where you can finish the game by going through the deck, at least two times. I like that you get a chance to watch an ad to add moves to finish, but again, you only get 10 moves and a two minute ads for 10 moves is just way too long. Shorten the ads, and add more moves, then put an ad between games, or only make the ads 30 seconds long, if we are going to have to watch two to four ads per game. As much as I love it, the long ads, make me not want to play more than one round..Version: 1.1.1

Move Limits Dampen ExperienceA fun, casual distraction, just like solitaire. The limit on the number of moves is sometimes problematic. If there are only a few categories you’ll often end up finishing early. However, if there are six or seven categories, even if you get a good shuffle, you’ll often end up not having enough moves to complete the level. This means you’ll either have to start over or watch ads to get a few more moves. Because the game can already end when all possible moves have been made, just like in solitaire, it seems like that should be the single end point; not running out of moves. It’s frustrating to run out of moves when you only need to make one more, and having to sit through ads just to finish. It’s even more frustrating having to start over multiple times because you realize that the cards are so shuffled that you won’t have enough moves. There have been times where I’ve known where every card goes and I have to pray that the cards are in a decent order, and times that I’ve started over early because it’s clear that they’re not..Version: 1.3.0

Ads are excessiveVery fun game but I can’t imagine playing it for much longer. The ads are ridiculous, they’re in every part of the game and interrupt your gameplay several times while also being at the bottom of the screen while you’re playing. It just doesn’t make sense to have that many ads. I’ve seen several people mention this issue and all the developer response can say is that it’s what makes the game free and accessible to everyone. I would understand that but I’ve played other free games that don’t have the excessive amount of ads this does. Ads make sense for after rounds, to get extra moves, and on the bottom of the screen. While they’re annoying they’re not as bad as the continuous interruptions to your gameplay. Those ads make a really fun game a lot less attractive to your customers. This game would probably be 5 stars if it wasn’t for the excessive amount of ads. I would rather not get a developer response if its going to regurgitate the “ads make it accessible” excuse. And yes I’m sure I could pay to remove them if I really wanted but then the game is not “free” or very “accessible”.Version: 1.14.0

Level 2,147I just want to start off by saying I absolutely love this app. There are tons of copy cats out there, except the rest seem to be geared towards small children, the words/categories are way too easy. This is the only one that I’ve found that is actually challenging. I just have a question for the devs..do the levels stop being new at level 2,147? Because the levels have started repeating for me. Not like similar words, I mean the exact same words/categories, and even the cards are dealt in the exact same order. I’m not trying to gripe, just trying to find out if there aren’t any new levels or not. Because I love the game so much, if that IS the case, I will just delete it and redownload it, play it over again. But if there are going to be new levels added in the future, I wouldn’t want to do that. If you could let me know, that’d be awesome. Either way, thanks so much for making such an amazing app!.Version: 1.12.0

The move count though…I absolutely love this game, challenges your brain to think outside the box as far as the possible categories a word can fall under. I like the idea in someone else’s review, for a definition icon in order to build vocabulary but more so to help figure out which category the word may fall under. Some of the words are hard. My biggest pet peeve is the move count, it needs a revamp or removed all together and just let people play relaxed, you already get a bunch of ads in as it is, and I’m okay with that. For the move count, If I have no more options to play I have no choice but to flip a card. A move should be counted as a card flip and then “moving” a card. It becomes frustrating when you’re towards the end of a round and everything is starting to fall into place; the locked deck level I just finished and needed to watch 5 ads pretty much back to back in order to finish placing all the cards in the deck that were backed up bc of the cards were locked. It makes me not want to play this game sometimes..Version: 1.9.0

Ads far too intrusive.Understanding that this is an ad-supported app, the advertising has become far too intrusive. Ads should NOT play sounds, ever. Nor should it take more than one tap to dismiss ads. And certainly, no ad ever should open my browser. Work with your advertising partners to knock off the sounds and the poorly placed exit buttons. Worst offenders: Kalshi, the various scammy casino games, and for some reason Experian. Games that play sounds get reported when that feature is available. That said…game itself is fine. Some improvements could be made curating the categories. For example, if two of the categories are “Africa” and “Capitals”, one of the cards should not be “Algiers”. And if the game is going to insist on play streaks to gain rewards, then definitely do not throw up levels where, even if played perfectly, cannot be won in the number of moves specified. At that, going through the draw pile should not cost “moves”. This is particularly annoy at the endgame when, for example, only two moves are available, two cards are left to play, but they’re both left in the draw pile..Version: 1.6.3

Fun with user interface issuesThis game has been pretty fun. I definitely enjoy the challenge if figuring out how certain words go together. Sometimes I learn something or am amused by unexpected associates. There are a few things they could improve on though: When the game has been minimized and pulled back up, an ad plays before users can start a game. That's a bit irritating. The restart mechanic is extremely unpleasant to use. When you need to restart a game, you have to assert that yes you absolutely want to restart about 5 times before it lets you! And then you usually have to watch an ad, which is a frustrating time to watch an ad. Final irritation for the restart mechanic: the button color changes in a misleading way. When you click restart, the button is green. When the confirm windows come up, the confirm botton is white and the continue button is green. Because of color association, I always click continue by mistake since it is the same color as the restart button was in the prior window and then I have to open the restart dialogue again..Version: 1.14.0

Don’t switch my audio for ads!!!I honestly love this game and I don’t have anything negative to say about the gameplay or its content. I understand the need for ads in order to keep the game free - in fine with that. But stop shutting off what I’m listening to to force me to listen to the stupid sounds in the ads!! Most of the time the audio in the ads add nothing and just irritate me. I’m often listening to music or an audiobook while playing this game, and it drives me insane that the ads interrupt what I’m listening to - then I have to leave the game to switch what I was listening to back on. Just please make the audio on the ads optional. If im forced to go through so many ads, dont mess with what im listening to. Please. Edit because whoever responded from the company can’t read: I know the ads are necessary for free gameplay. But you have the ability to make the audio optional - it used to be optional and now it changes what I’m listening to and THAT is my complaint, not the fact that the ads exist..Version: 1.7.0

Why the new “lives”?I loved this game and have paid for no ads because I rarely find games like this one that are simple but really keep you coming back. I play this game every night, so of course I’ve noticed the updates and changes to make the game more competitive and complex. Sure, these additions are fine, but nobody really asked for them. Heres where I get to my biggest grievance. Why add the “5 lives/hearts” feature? It actively restricts me from playing the game and now I feel like the entire concept of being able to endlessly play the game is gone. Unfortunately, until this changes you’ve lost a customer because I cannot see how anyone benefits from this changes except for the company. Why insert a competitive aspect into a game that not only doesn’t need it, but was also very popular before the change-this is the number one game in world as of today, so why feel the need to add this feature unless to get more money? I’m confident I’m not the only customer annoyed by this..Version: 1.10.1

Fun Gameplay Overshadowed by Excessive AdsI understand the game is designed to be free, and I appreciate that. I’m also at level 231, so I am not a new player. However, the constant ads popping up roughly every 5 minutes, really breaks the flow of the game. Many of the later level feel nearly impossible to beat without spending coins on extra moves or jokers. If you choose not to use coins, you’re met with more ads. One level required 60 additional moves beyond that original 100+, in addition 3 jokers, that was while using the most optimal path. It was also 3 jokers on the screen at the same time. I have been stuck on another level for two days. Already tried 40 extra moves and 3 jokers and still unable to pass it. It feels like the new mechanics are being added specifically to push players toward using extra moves/jokers to watch more ads and to start spending real world money. If enjoy spending money on games and watching ads, you will love the later levels of this game. Unfortunately, it’s no longer enjoyable for me..Version: 1.14.0

My FAVORITE Game!To the developers: Thank you for the upgrade and option to remove ads and purchase some hints more moves, or watch ads voluntarily for more moves. It is a great upgrade. PLEASE CREATE MORE LEVELS! I have maxed out all the levels 2x and want more!! Also the option to go back and replay previous levels that you’ve already done would be nice especially when you’re at the max like I am. To the new user: This is the BEST game! It’s completely unique. It is challenging, engaging, and a great deal. There are unlimited lives and chances to try levels until you can finally beat it (please Don’t change that developers, it’s one of your best features!) The associations for the categories aren’t always obvious but with trial and error you eventually begin to see the patterns and build the stacks. This game is so addicting and the one time fee to remove ads is so worth it. Definitely worth the download!.Version: 0.1.72

Could Be EnjoyableGame could be fun but you’re watching the same 2/3 ads more than you are playing the actual game. You get so many moves to complete the game which is weird because every card you move is a move. You turn a card over from deck thats a move, you bring the card down to game thats a move, you undo the move yep thats a move, you move a card to a different column thats a move. Once you run out of moves you can get 10 more moves but first an ad, each time you get 10 more cards there’s an ad. When you get the moves but you have a stack of cards waiting to be play on header cards each card is a move. I counted one game how many moves it took to get 1 card to main card stack between 8-12 moves. Oh can’t forget if you play more than 6 plays you get an ad break and the same ad again. I would actually pay for no ads on this game and they need to adjust move count. I would consider coming back to play, but way too many of the same ad so I won’t be playing for awhile..Version: 0.1.60

Great Game for Word LoversI love this game! It's not for children. It's not for fools. I know more words than most people, but there are plenty I have to look up in this game. Even without the jargon and minutiae, the game is challenging because you never know the association to the category until you've been through a number of choices. Some are a bit indirect, as well. Plus, there's the whole strategy element, of which card to play where and when, to sort out the whole deck. This is much more challenging, and far less random, than regular Canfield pack of four suits of 52 cards. Sometimes frustrating, occasionally tedious (Imagine! A solitaire game with homework!), but so satisfying in the end. And there's the frisson of delight when a category is in one's own bailiwick, and the obscure jargon are the beloved details of your life..Version: 1.6.0

It’s Fun and ChallengingThis is an updated review. I previously had some complaints about the counting of moves, but I was quite mistaken about my interpretation of the game play. I was wrong, and therefore, I want to update and edit my review. The game is fun, and challenging. It has become a game that I play often. I appreciate that the developers reached out to me after my initial review to explain the process. That shows that they do actually read reviews, and they took the time to explain to me my error. I had also complained about the ads, but I’ve gotten used to them popping up a lot. The ONLY issue I have is the TYPE of ads that pop up sometimes! I find SOME of them so inappropriate (sexually suggestive), or else visually disgusting (pulling worms, pus, or other disgusting things out of someone’s pimples, etc.). I try to click out of those particular ads quickly, however, I would prefer not to be forced to watch those ads at all!!.Version: 1.3.0

I’ll look for a better version.I love the concept of word associations instead of the typical card suits. What killed it for me was the limited moves, had I realized it before I wouldn’t have bothered downloading. IMO games that use this don’t do it to make it more challenging, it’s just another money grab. Like this one, if you run out of moves the game isn’t over. You can simply buy more moves or watch ads! Which brings me to the last thing that ruined the game for me, ads. They wait until your a few games in before starting the barrage. I have a few games I play daily that have the forced ad break but they don’t bother me. Those games have only one per game & at most are only 15 seconds long, no big deal. But this solitaire game has multiple ad “breaks” during each game & are over a minute long! Add that into all the others & the game is quickly overrun by long ads. I still love the concept so I’m hoping to find another app like it but just executed better. Just my humble opinion..Version: 1.1.0

Fun but the ads are crazyThis is a really fun game. It makes you think and is highly enjoyable. I understand the game is free, and for $9.99 I can get an ad free version, however, an ad after every level is a bit excessive. I think that will drive people away that either can not or will not pay for the ad free version. Since there are things you can buy in the game to help with the costs, to me this many ads is too much, and makes the game more frustrating then fun. I do not think the developer actually reads the reviews. Responses to complaints about the ads get the same auto response. Ads are fine, it’s the frequency that needs to be adjusted. Not everyone can afford to pay for the ad free game, but those people might have friends that can if they recommend the game. Will they with the frequency of the ads is the question the developer should be asking themselves..Version: 1.10.1

Loved it at first....But once I played the same level well over 15 times and still haven't gotten past it due to having no room and no option to move stuff around, I've chosen to let this app go. Has a lot of potential, I just wish there was an extra spot or you're able to put things under the golden ones while mixed in the deck (that's the biggest issue - it completely cancels out that column so you can't use it) (Adding a new comment - I really hope y'all read this) I decided to redownload to try it out again. I've restarted this level over 15+ times (not exaggerating) due to being unable to move the gold ones around, or to just set something in another column for one turn. I almost had it done, but one thing prevented me. We need to be able to put things under the gold ones when they're in the deck (not the main 4 at the top, mixed in) PLEASE fix this and my review would go to a 5 star without a doubt..Version: 0.1.60

Love itSuch a fun game and super addicting. Learning new words with this app too. There are a lot of ads tho, but other than that such a good game!! 😆.Version: 0.1.62

Great adsNothing better than constant ads, some of which never end. hottip: the moment an ad pops up, close the game and reopen, save yourself some time.Version: 1.6.0

Only one issue…Is there anyways to go ad free? I understand ads in between levels but the constant interruptions during game play is so intrusive. I don’t see anywhere on the game where I can stop adds or upgrade to ad free. Other than that I love the game, but that is a BIG deterrent that limits how long I want to spend playing it..Version: 1.1.1

Card unlock levelsI got addicted to this game. I suffer through watching the many ads. I’m now on level 83 where they introduce the cards with a lock on them that you can’t use until you get the card with a key on it. It is impossible to beat with the amount of moves given. Most times I’ve tried to beat it you run out of options before you run out of moves. I’m wondering if anyone has made it past this point I’m so confused. There has been levels I’ve had to play multiple times before beating but this truly seems impossible unless the cards get dealt perfectly.Version: 1.8.0

Disgusting money grabThis game is the absolute worst. the idea behind it is so fun but it's such a money grab because once you get to level 3 you physically cannot complete the levels without watching ads to get more moves, and they're all over a minute long. i don't care if you 'need them to be free', just make your game not rigged the very freaking least..Version: 1.3.0

Short ads can still be effectiveIt’s an interesting game but the adds are too long so I don’t bother to play much. Additionally, it demands too much currency for 10 moves and currency generation is slow - eg. You get 50 coins for completing one game but need to pay 1500 coins for an extra 10 moves or watch a 90 second. It’s 1200 coins for an assist. Finally, I appreciate that the developers need income but people are likely to put the phone assign for an overly long ad, rendering the advertising value for the advertiser ineffective..Version: 1.6.1

Too many long adsWayyyy too many LONG ads! I get you need ads to make it free but there are too many per game and some ads are unbelievably long!! Going to look for an alternative similar game!.Version: 1.5.0

AdsToo many ads and they are too long and too repetitive. The ads are glitchy and will not always quit..Version: 1.3.0
