Absolutely the Best Financial Calculator––and Best DeveloperIn an earlier review I gave this phenomenal app 5 stars but wanted to give it 100. Now, I want to give it 1,000. Without any doubt, this is the #1 calculator of its kind on the market in this CPA's opinion. I use this every day for a wide variety of professional and personal reasons. In addition to doing all the HP 12-C calculations, it has templates for leases, loans, time value of money, multi-year financial ratios, foreign exchange calculations, etc. I use the conversions feature to help me with calculations necessary when I fly general aviation aircraft. One of the best, most useful features is an electronic "tape," which, amazingly, can be e-mailed as a PDF file for printing if need be. This makes the app substantially more valuable than any physical calculator or any comparable app. When I bought this app for my iPhone, I expected to have to pay again for my iPad, but, no, I could download it onto my iPad for no additional cost. This calculator is outstanding. The developer, Ernie Brock, is a genius. He keeps making his app better and better all while staying ahead of Apple’s iOS changes that impact the functionality of the program. I recommend this fantastic app HIGHLY. It continues to get me through CPA seasons, and it makes calculations of pilotage and dead reckoning much easier when I plan cross country flights..JGRogVersion: 2.6

Still the best HP12C App Ever After So Many Years! More so now with this latest update!The updates on this app keep it at the top of my list of most used apps on my iPhone and other Apple devices. I have always owned at least three HP 12C handheld calculators since these came to the market decades ago. I still do today but now that I am on my iPhones and iPads most of every waking hour I find it so convenient to be able to click on Ernest Brock's 12Calc on my iPhones and iPads while working numbers on these devices. I have been a user of Ernest Brock's 12Calc from its first appearance and through its periodic updates with new features as Mr. Brock has again done with this superb 12Calc Version 2.3! I am now 76 years old and since these came out in the market I have used and recommended to family and friends both the HP12C handheld calculator and Ernest Brock's 12Calc app. I will continue to use and recommend these to anyone looking for timeless products that are classics in their industry. 12CalcThis is the best financial calculator which I have ever used. For example: The financial registers display above the buttons. You can get a tape if you want. There are associated programs where you can get results printed such as an amortization schedule. It has a conversion feature which I really find handy. It will even convert currency. The users manual is really great. I have recommended this calculator to many of my friends and many people at our office use it. Formatting is problematicYou can’t get rid of the written instructions presented alongside the actual calculator if you are on the Ipad. It is distracting and unnecessary if you are already familiar with the application’s functionality. It primarily reduces the spatial formatting of the calculator itself. I assume that this was done to improve penetration rates among those individuals that do not know reverse polish notation. The problem is that the 12c caters to a specific community interested in advanced financial applications. If those individuals don’t have an interest in performing these types of functions, then they are likely not going to need to or be interested in this application. ExcellentA 12C emulation that meets and far exceeds the technology of the original. I’ve tried many 12C apps over the years but this one is the keeper. The included tables are pure genius. The ability to amortize payments and see the calculations by month (and quickly verify or change my entries) is a huge time saver and I especially like the printable audit tape. I use this app nearly every day and have come to rely on it. This is IT!I have been an HP-12 user since forever. This app emulates all the features in the original hardware unit while adding many additional functions including a host of conversions. My favorite everyday calculatorI've tried countless iOS calculators (seriously, I probably own close to twenty). 12Calc is a perfect blend of classic HP 12C RPN goodness with modern enhancements: worksheets for common tasks, unit conversion, help screens, and improved accuracy. It's also apparent the author is a total calculator nerd and this app has been a labor of love. If you're not in school and you aren't an aerospace engineer, a financial calculator is likely the better choice over a scientific for your day-to-day. Awesome App Great ValueLoaded this on my iPad and saved a ton of money Vs buying a calculator. ( I’m taking a class where I HAVE TO us a HP12C) This does the trick. Better than my 12C!I have used a 12C for over 30 years. In fact, I still have my original HP12C but don’t even take it out of the desk drawer now that I have Ernie’s version. This is the gold standard of Financial Calculators., Long before the personal computer, iPhones and the internet the HP 12C. calculator provided the answers to my financial calculations. Best 12c there is!I’ve been a 12c user for a long time. It’s the best financial calculator there is and this is the absolute best one, just updated too. The functionality is perfect, it has the option of having a visual stack on the screen, and the record tape feature lets you check your work not having to redo the calculations. Fantastic calculator, problematic updateFirst of all, nothing beats 12Calc. There is no substitute unless you are using a real 12C, but then 12Calc has all the speed of your iPhone. The latest version, however, is problematic as the font is now white instead of black. Depending on your situation it can be very hard to see. I wish I did not upgrade so I could have kept the previous color scheme of black numbers on a lighter background. Update: Years later this app has been maintained and still works wonderfully. Great App!I use this all the time since installed. Seems to work just like the original HP12C, only faster. Once created, programs remain stored indefinitely, which is contrary to another HP12C type app I had where the program was erased after each use.
