Physics is a thing.This is probably the most user friendly flight simulator in the App Store. The graphics are great and you get a good selection of jets you are able to fly anywhere in the world. I’m no physicist or a pilot, but you don’t have to be one to remember Newton’s 1st Law: “An object that is in motion will stay in motion unless an external force acts upon it. An example of this is when a jet goes into a stall. It doesn’t pull a Coyote and Roadrunner stunt and just stop on a dime and fall out of the sky. It still has some forward momentum and glides down as it slowly descends. It also means that upon landing the nose doesn’t smack down on the tarmac as soon as the back wheels touch down. If you watch a plane coming into land, you will notice that the pilot keeps the nose up as long as possible and then, after 500 feet, they slowly ease the nose down and TOUCH the front wheel to the tarmac. One thing that would help with this is if you had the AOA right on the planes. One other minor thing that needs fixing is the fact that you can’t see the water on the map setting while in flight. Awesome app but...Alright, hands down this is the best flight sim out there. However, it's gotten really flat since you can't really engage in combat. UPDATE:( well after finding out that air fighter is now a subscription I don't know what to think about rortos anymore) I spent money to buy the pro so I wouldn't have to worry about having to purchase new upgrades when new things came out. I saw that the basic "air carrier landings" has gotten a recent update with a new aircraft. Fortunately you need to buy all the aircraft if you want them. Meanwhile the pro version still has not been updated for almost a year now. What a shame. I was really loving rortos but looks like you guys have followed along other corporates....PVHNVersion: 4.0

Old version ideaI've always been a fan of all of your simulators. Everyone I meet that likes simulators I always highly recommend all of them because of the detail you all put into the Sim's. I've had them all at one point or another starting with Air Navy Fighters and F-18 Carrier Landing and pretty much everyone since. However ever since some of the newer updates came out for the original F-18 Carrier landings I've noticed the Rectangle challenge was removed. That was an amazing feature because of a few things it forced the pilot to master. A few include thrust control to allow maximum thrust to allow faster speeds to hit the rectangles with staying slow enough to allow maximum possible agility to make quick maneuvers to get the pilot into position to get in the rectangles smallish size which can be quite a challenge in certain aircraft because of the larger turn radius. Another thing it helped with was getting used to different settings such as full control and simulation controls. The full control setting allowed the control of the flaps with at high speed and increase maneuverability if you are running out of time and need to keep your speed up. Dropping your landing gear and slow you down enough to also make tighter turns. Though I don't remember being able to use the rudder with increases agility as well. Other things that may be cool is more missions to improve improvising. Like the additions of enemy forces holding up a evacuation site and you have to maneuver your aircraft in a position you can avoid the forces and still get the people out. And missions for the C-130. In my experience their is no mission for it. New missions and new aircraft, possibly even helicopters. For certain missions..ArchstormVersion: 4.0

PHYSICS, It is What Makes the World go round!The graphics are phenomenal, the list of aircraft to choose from is superb but the physics of flight is just not right! Granted I am no aerodynamic engineer (YET) but I do happen to know quite a bit about airplanes and how they fly. So I will cut right to the chase. Problem One, the decent/accent rate is off based on the AOA. Now I won't go into any mathematics but an experienced flyer can clearly see that it is off. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE in future updates (sooner rather than latter) correct this problem by, 1 making the stall speeds much lower, 2 allow for aircraft decent even when the nose is pitched up at high degrees, and 3, when landing allow the user to EASE the nose onto the tarmack. Currently the game is programmed to slam the plane into the ground the second it touches down. So please correct that and all that I have mentioned for optimal realism!.FIVESUNGENERALVersion: 4.0

More detailsFix flight physics and more details to the inside controls. Not every plane uses the same radar setup. Also where is the fuel gauge that is accurate with a speedometer style format. And were is the auto pilot mode fuel gauge. Plenty of times i have run out of fuel just using the advance time feature and went 300 Nautical Miles too far. Also some flights especially across the Atlantic are straight line flight. Also when will you add co-op play to the game would love to see flight formations and the ability to change plane "skins to look like the CV-65 Enterprise F-14s, Blue Angles F-18s, Vietnam jungle camo F-4, or even soviet winter patten for the Mig. Needs work!Initial versions the graphics were awesome. The past few updates have ruined the physics, the graphics and general satisfaction of this once awesome sim. For example: "landing gear absent from replays. Aircraft image simply disappears from screen, leaving only a poorly shaded skeleton hurtling through the sky. Refueling pods and gear struts perpetually extended." These are just a few of the sloppy errors witnessed during replay mode. The continuing lack of scenery, scenarios, and aircraft armament development means that this sim will more than likely remain little more than a fun flyer for the kiddies and never become a serious competitor in the military flight sim arena. ...and that's saddening, considering its obvious potential..ShadowboxrVersion: 4.0

Great just needs a couple planes...Ok if you're wandering what planes should be added, you've asked the right plane nerd. Since 5th gen fighters have the world for a loop let's call a couple out. * Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA * Chengdu J-20 * Mitsubishi ATD-X shinshin * Saab jas Grippen 39 (this could be considered a highly advanced 4th gen due to lack of stealth weapons bay) * Northrop YF-23 Grey ghost & black widow Those are typically the most pointed out 5th gen fighters. But there are also a couple missing from only a few people would recognize these fighters. * Northrop YF-23 Black widow and grey ghost * Mig 21 fishbed * Mig 25 foxhound * Mig 31 Foxbat * AMX * Dassault Rafale * Sukhoi Su-35 Flanker * McDonald Douglas F-15s/MTD * Panavia Tornado GR.1 * Convair XF2Y Sea dart * Bell X-1 * Bac TSR.2 * Gruman X-29 Anyways those were just my personal favorites. If anyone reading this thinks these planes are in the game, please note that there aren't any of these planes mentioned. Physics, physics, physics and realism!Graphics are awesome especially for the iPhone, landscape and aircraft detail are pretty darn good. I'm an actual pilot so here is your constructive criticism. 1) planes don't just fall out of the sky when they stall, and it isn't so instant, plus you want to re-look your indicated stall speeds. Some are way off. 2) an aircraft carrier would never and I mean never make a turn with an aircraft on approach, period. 3) the slamming effect of the landing on the runway is very off putting. The carrier is one thing, but, a gentle touchdown and some slick aerobraking would look far better than the nose wheel bottoming out every time. 4) the AOA is way off from aircraft attitude. 5) you have a velocity vector where an attitude indicator should be, split the two and make the velocity vector a true VV. 6) add an AOA bracket on the HUD. 7) show what wire you catch each time 8) keep the HSI with both the F-35 and the AV-8B. 9) runway lights (carrier too) can me seen for MILES...MILES...and I mean miles at night, not half a mile before touchdown. 10) an ILS would be cool. Awesome game! Please read!So far with these new updates the game is awesome! The few requests that I have is for the aircraft carrier to have movable JBDs (Jet blast deflectors). I've been on a few carriers and I know it's pointless to take off without them. In the game there is a JBD already up it would just be nice to have them operational. Secondly, I was hoping to request a change in the speed brakes on the F18. The speed brakes on the F18 in the game are for the F18D even though the intakes are for an F18E. Awesome update!I absolutely love the EuroFighter! The C-130 is an impressive add but I'm not so sure if it really fits. The rocket boosters for the C-130 are insane but if you save them and climb, then dive and use them you can break the sound barrier. In a C-130!! That is extremely humorous! Both new aircraft are a blast to fly and land but one thing I noticed right away is that there is no longer a recording feature when you watch the replay of the flight. Please bring that back, I love making videos with this app and I would like to know the reason for it being removed.. Carrier LandingsI've played Carrier Rortos games since the start of it all, but more aircraft is needed for carrier landings including the F-15 Strike Eagle, the EA- 6B Prowler, The S-3 Viking, the Mig-31, and the E-2 Hawkeye. Greatest Rortos Game so far. I also want to say. Why can't we add taxing to the game. Cockpit closing. I also think that we should be able to add different squadron paint jobs. The last thing is that we should be able to close and shut our c-2 greyhound and c-130 Hercules cargo hold doors. The aircraft listed above should be in a future update as well. Good but still needs some workGreat additions with the C-130 Hercules and the EF Typhoon. Great additions. And the Super Hornet looks absolutely fantastic, inside and out. However, the flight engine still needs work and there are some major glitches I'm noticing as well. I feel like previous updates have been geared more towards aesthetics than flight mechanics, and it's suffering a bit as a result. Flight engine first: 1. When you reach minimum takeoff speed while taking off from any airbase, the plane bounces up and down until you accelerate another 40 kts or so. When the plane rotates it should be able to at least stay in that rotated position until it gains lift, then slowly accelerate upwards providing a smooth departure. 2. Landing the plane, you should be able to smoothly and slowly de-rotate the nose of the plane until it touches. Normal planes can even perform a touch-and-go without the nose de-rotating at all. Instead in this game the nose de-rotates as soon as you touch the ground. 3. Landing speeds are way too high! A normal landing on a carrier for a Super Hornet is about 145 kts or so. The game has you coming in at 160 otherwise you descend too fast or have to pitch the nose up 15 degrees (more than you should have to) to stay at a normal rate of descent. Glitches: 1. Replay shows entire Super Hornet as bright reflective silver from tower/runway side/runway views for some reason instead of regular coloring. 2. All views also show refueling probe extended for entire duration of the replay. 3. After performing in-flight refuel, plane jerks sharply down instead of pulling smoothly away backwards. Hopefully some, if not all, of these things will be looked at in the near future and fixed. Despite all this, the game is still fantastic and I would recommend to anyone looking for a great flight sim app. Great work rortos, can't wait to see what's in store for the next update :).Grumman7Version: 4.0

Great game - just a few thingsReally a great detailed game. Upgraded to get more planes and it's a good variety and the flight characteristics change accordingly. Would just like a couple of thing. 1.) Wish you could invert and then dive. Closest you can get to that is a quick roll that once you start it completes on its own. 2.) PLEASE READDear Rortos, I've been playing all of your flight simulators since the first f 18 carrier landing. All of them have been great so far, but it would be nice if you would update the ground graphics a little. Also it would be nice if we could plan our missions and make up squadrons or have squadron pain jobs. Physics! And Planes!This game is the Laser guided bomb! It does show a good use of military aircraft, but it is not completely accurate physics and military wise. The aircraft carrier should have at least 2 cruisers and 2-3 destroyers protecting it. You also need to work on physics, I mean I'm 14 and I understand takeoff procedures, and that when an aircraft takes off, the nose should be pointed to the the sky and a 35 Degree angle to increase lift. Also you need to add helicopters like the: USN HH-60 Seahawk, USCG HH-65 Dolphin, and the USMC UH-1Y Venom..Nobuda1282Version: 4.0

Nostalgic memoriesI have been playing rortos games since F-18 landings and they have come so far in what they do. Pretty good simulator.This simulator is worth the price of admission, and it is currently the only mobile simulator that I know of that allows one to circumnavigate the globe. We all know the flight modeling is a WIP, and any experienced simulator pilot has the ability to suspend disbelief in order to enjoy a flight (remember FS1,2,3,4?). Graphics, vertical landings and crashesThe title explains its self. But why can you not land on ground? What I mean by ground is grass. Even with vertical jets you still can't land on grass. You can only land on runways, aircraft carriers, and helipads. What if you run out of fuel? You conduct an emergency landing but you can't do it... I'm no graphic guy but I can tell you this. Carrier Landing ProI enjoy the game immensely and spend many hours playing. One thing, the name is Carrier Landing yet 1 maybe 2 of the six flights per segment begin or end aboard a carrier. It's good, for the most partThis app is great for imagination and it is very fun and a time consumer. But when you do a replay with the F-18 it glitches and it doesn't look right and it lags. THE BEST LANDING SIMULATOR FOR MOBILEI recommend this game for any aircraft geeks (like me). It has more graphic quality than the other jet games I've played (on mobile devices). It doesn't lag much, which is great. I have a few suggestions...First off, let me just ask about the idea of multiplayer gameplay. Whether it's for missions, or free flight, I think the idea is really cool. I think it would be a great addition to the game. Personally, I think this is the best flight simulator in the app store. No other simulators can even come close to comparing with this one. Though, there are a few problems. 1. Stall speeds - I know there are many reviews on this, but I still wanted to state the fact that the stall speeds are too high for some aircraft. Also, the stall is very unrealistic. An aircraft doesn't just fall out of the sky and roll during a stall. 2. Landing/Takeoff Physics - There are many reviews about this also, but the planes shouldn't be programed to slam into the ground during a soft touchdown. The nose of the aircraft should ease down gently on a good landing. One other thing that I don't like about this issue is that it messes with your take off sometimes. It's almost as if the game thinks you're landing, causing the nose to get shoved into the ground over and over. This makes the take off very rough. 3. Taxing - Unlike real life, steering on the tarmac in this game is done by moving the ailerons. However, in the real world, taxing would be done by moving the rudder pedals. 4. If it's possible to do without frame-rate issues, loading issues, or other problems, could you make the ground more realistic? I know it looks fine when high up, but down low its very blurry, basic-shaped, and pixelated. If it's too much for the smooth gameplay to stay, don't worry about it. Aside of the negatives, the app itself is amazing; as said earlier. Some planes I recommend you add are: • C-5 • C-17 This could be a stretch, but maybe some WW2 aircraft like the: • P-51 • F-4U • P-38 •Spitfire I have some fighters too: • A-10 • Frogfoot • F-117 Nighthawk • B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber • SR-17 Blackbird • F-15 Eagle Maybe some drones, too. Not the quadcopter type, but the airplanes. Also, what about planes with pontoons? I know this game is strictly based off of military aircraft, so this might be a little too much to ask for, but at least it's a basic idea... Another idea I had in mind was to add different paint jobs you could select for each plane. I can't come up with any other ideas, but there will be more to come! Awesome game, however there are issues when playing on XS max.The notch at the top of the phone eats into the control real estate on screen. More specifically, the left rudder pedal and throttle. EXCELLENT....I love the program, have served aboard a carrier myself and although I'm not a pilot I can appreciate the effort that has gone into this sim. Some improvements can be made. Landing speeds for F-14 are not correct nor is angle of attack on final and touchdown. In the real world the carrier does not change course while an aircraft is on final. I'd like to see a better representation of the LSO lights...enlarge them, perhaps in the corner of the screen. Every landing should show the wire # trapped. Just continue refining this great sim. Plz Read!So, I got the update this morning, and it looks great! The F-18 is very improved and I like the Eurofighter and the C130. Problem is, I can't load the external fuel tanks on them, so that's a problem. Also, please update the F-35, it looks like the x-35, so please do that. Great sim, but there are bugsI’ve enjoyed this sim for three years, but just recently encountered a bug, where one of my missions is to land the F 35 at a square field, and then bring it in the hanger. Love it but it could use some new aircraftI love this game. It has brought me through many hours of boredom. It is extremely realistic, but the selection of aircraft is getting slightly old, as well as what jobs you can execute. It would be great if you could pilot a Boeing E-3 Sentry, as well as use the radar inside of it and direct NPC fighters to attack those inbound threats. I would also like to see an A-10 Thunderbolt. There should also be an in-flight refueling aircraft, probably something along the line of an E-767. The user should be able to set auto pilot on a pre selected flight plan and change to the refueling seat and be in control of the boom and have friendly aircraft nearby to refuel. The boom should be extended not when an aircraft in need of fuel nears the refueling aircraft but when the operator chooses to extend it. Also, please add the use of weapons to the fighter aircraft as well as multiple weapons to choose from and toggle through in-flight. Also, please add the use of flares to all aircraft and the use of active jamming (in the case of the Boeing E-3 Sentry).Mr. McTinkleberryVersion: 4.0

Not for hardcore flight sim playersTo be honest, I wouldn't have stumbled on this if X-Plane mobile would let me fly across the Pacific. Here're just a few things that really bugs me: - Stalling aircrafts don't just start spiralling randomly! In fact, aircrafts landing on carriers have to be close to stalling in order not to snap the arrestor cables. - The device is supposed to vibrate when the aircraft is about to stall! Nearly all modern aircrafts are equipped with stick shakers which vibrate when the aircraft is about to stall. - Aircrafts don't simply disintegrate because you landed outside the runway! Especially not STOL jets, which are designed to land nearly everywhere. - Taking off from the Cavour-like carrier is the wost part — My Harrier is supposed to face UPWARD after taking off from the ramp, NOT flying level! It stalls eight times out of ten after taking off from the ramp 'cause it's not facing upward, and I can't recover 'cause it spirals like a ROFL-copter once it stalls. Long story short, if you just wanna grasp the basics of flight, give it a try by all means. But if you're a hardcore flight sim player who values realism above everything else... don't buy this until they make the RORTOS flight engine up to par. But don't worry, RORTOS, I've seen even worst flight games that can't even be called "flight sims"..Wg. Cdr. CédricVersion: 4.0

Very Good but Flight Model is StangeThis is a good game, but the flight model behaves strangely when maneuvering the aircraft. It is impossible to make a level turn; the aircraft refuses to turn when banked unless one pulls back on the stick, which causes unwanted altitude increase because the flight path marker then goes above the horizon line.
